  • Trickster isn't that bad, he just can't be played like the other ranged Killers. He needs some buffs, but he's a high C-tier at worst (aka, without add-ons, with add-ons, he's mid B-tier).

Source: Reaching level 40 with him while only playing as him, averaging 2-3 kills per game, and achieving Adept Trickster in 3 attempts at purple ranks.

  • The Entity feeds on hope. Yun-Jin Lee hopes to get revenge on Ji-Woon Hak. She wouldn't be able to do this if she was a Killer herself. So the Entity made her a Survivor in order to feed upon this hope.

I think the point of Yun-Jin is to show that Survivors aren't necessarily pure-hearted individuals. Like Phasmamain said, the only antagonistic one would be David, who is still willing to lay down his life for his friends, though characters like Jake and Min do seem to care more about their own survival, they are far from antagonists like Yun-Jin. She's meant to show that Survivors can be morally ambiguous or even borderline evil, with all three of her perks making her benefit from the misfortunes of others.

  • I came in expecting a complaint post about how diversity ruins games, because that's just how these forums are. Instead, I got a pretty cool chart and map of where the characters are from. I don't necessarily agree with some of the choices made, like licensed characters shouldn't be included in looking at diversity because the devs can't do anything about that, Jane, while definitely of latin descent, is American (her lore puts her father's house in New Jersey and her archive makes a big deal about her wanting to just be considered American), and Jamaica isn't part of Africa, so Adam should be put in a Caribbean section if you're going to do that. But other than some of these small nitpicks (and other things you might have forgotten such as Elodie's parents being from Madagascar), this was well done.

I've always been curious about where The Trapper is actually from. They gave him a Skin that's a reference to My Bloody Valentine which is a old Horror film from the late 70's that's set in a small mining town in Nova Scotia. Kinda wonder if the Macmillan estate is in NS, would kind of be nice to have a stage that encorperates beaches and maybe a lighthouse.

First paragraph of Trapper's archive firmly roots him in Seattle, Washington.

  • My first match was as a Huntress during a free week, though I had an interest in it since the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter somehow caught my eye on a channel I liked (no clue why, I wasn't even into horror at that time). My very first hatchet throw hit a Bill from a considerable distance away. Don't remember much else, but that hatchet was beautiful.

Bought the game and all of the chapters (from Halloween to Saw) the next day (May 26, 2018 according to the DLC management on Steam), and have had a very inconsistent time with Huntress since.

  • Meg - Overall, I think she looks better, but I never had the issues with her face that others did. She also hasn't been a ginger for a long time (being more brunette with her base hair, which is being changed to a more blonde), so that's not really an issue for me, even if it is not shared with her portrait, which does annoy me. I don't care for the changes done to her hair (that wind-swept looking appearance in front of the middle braid looks ugly, and the braid is way too large), and her clothes could use a bit of dirtying up, but overall, not bad.

Dwight - I'm conflicted. On one hand, he looks much cleaner, which is a good thing. On the other hand, he lost so much of his character in the transition. Meg looks like Meg, Dwight looks like a cheap cosplay of Dwight that smoked all the weed. He doesn't look bad otherwise, he just doesn't look like Dwight.

Claudette - An improvement to be sure. Her hair could be fuller and her mouth looks kind of weird in-game, but everything else about her is better. The animation change also looks fantastic.

  • On one hand, it's cleaner.

On the other hand, the old Dwight has a distinct look. Now he just looks really high.

  • I've had two that I can think of. And neither of them had much to do with actual existing characters.

The first one was a while back, but I can still remember bits and pieces. I was watching someone play the game, and his KWF group kind of groaned at the Killer he was using, a character that I remember being called the Father (as in a priest) who walked around and hit people with the palm of his hand like a D&D monk. And that's literally all I can remember.

The other was so vivid that I ended up turning it into a chapter of my own (of which two perks were kind of put in with All-Kill, that being Smash Hit and No Way Out, though No Way Out differs quite a bit from my idea, but that's not important). The main things I remember were a Survivor I've never seen being injured and I went to help them along with another Survivor (who I also don't think exists), then Christmas Sweater Susie wandered past, somehow missing us. The other Survivor took of and I started carrying the injured Survivor on my shoulder (don't ask). Then it turned out they were the actual Killer (can't explain Susie, but dreams aren't meant to be explained), and the rest of my dream turned into a trailer for the chapter.

Somehow I was able to create a chapter out of that mess.

  • Spirit and Plague.

I don't mind Spirit's strength. I don't mind the 50/50s that much. Most of the issues people have with her are things I don't really mind. She just gives me anxiety and stresses me out (granted, I have gotten better at dealing with it over the years).

Plague is just a game of "damned if you do, damned if you don't." And I hate that game.

  • Doors Unknown - Silent Hill - All-Kill - Binding of Kin. In that order

Silent Hill was pretty hype, even for someone who knew nothing about the games, but that's about it. While Executioner can be fun to play, I barely touch him on account of how bad I am with him. Cheryl's perks are fun but situational as all hell and Executioner might as well only have Trail of Torment because the other two are so niche. This chapter also gave us Midwich, one of the most despised maps I've seen. It looks gorgeous, but plays like garbage. But, it's still a map, unlike the other chapters we got.

While Doors Unknown doesn't have a map, I feel it beats Silent Hill in every other category except for hype. A fun Killer? Blight is one of my mains, even with how bugged he was. Good perks? Do I need to talk about how good Undying was and still is? Dragon's Grip is also pretty good, and Blood Favour, while niche, has its uses. On the Survivor side, Felix has one of the best backstories of any Survivor, looks really cool, and has decent perks. Visionary is so underrated, Desperate Measures has its place in a healing build, and Built to Last also has its uses.

Binding of Kin is the weakest of the chapters. While I think Twins are a bit underrated and do just fine with them without camping, everything else about them is just there. Oppression is the only perk that's really worthwhile and its cooldown is so egregious that it's barely worth it. Elodie, like Felix before her, has a really well done backstory, and I love her appearance and personality, but her perks are REALLY situational.

All-Kill is way overhated. Yun-Jin's perks are situational, but Trickster has Starstruck, a pretty decent perk, Crowd Control, which is a better Bamboozle, and No Way Out, which gives you a little extra time at the end game to make a comeback. While not the best, they're not bad either. And I am seriously convinced people don't know how to play Trickster. Is he weak and needs buffs? Yes. Is he as bad as everyone seems to think? Oh hell no. He just can't be played like a Huntress or a Deathslinger. If the average Trickster gets 0 kills like some people say, then I must be in the top 1% of tricksters, because I've averaged around 2 kills per game, with my last two matches ending in a 4k on Coldwind. Merciless Killer at purple ranks where Merciless has ludicrous requirements. Pre-buff. Before I was even level 10. Again, he does need help, but he's not as bad as people make it out to be. That said, there was no way in hell it was standing up to Silent Hill. All-Kill was the definition of wasted potential.

  • I would love to contribute one of the songs I normally listen too, but I have a feeling they're not on Spotify, and if they are, I would just get everyone depressed, because so few of the songs I generally listen to are actually cheerful.

So instead, I'll contribute "Party Riot" by Groundbreaking. It's pretty upbeat compared to most of the other songs I listen to (although it's still basically about the destruction of society, so...) and it's a relatively obscure artist that I feel deserves a bit more recognition for his original songs rather than his video game-based songs.

  • Not enough people were playing it to justify keeping the servers running.

  • Having recently finishing the show, I've been trying to think of a way to bring Lucy from Elfen Lied into DBD. She's become probably my third most wanted Killer, just behind Candyman and a Xenomorph, and she would definitely be unique. The issue comes from the fact that she's ridiculously powerful.

Lucy's weapons are her vectors, which are, to paraphrase another character from the show, "Two-meter long invisible arms." We all joke about Freddy's poor lunge animation, but Lucy's vectors are literally invisible unless you're a Diclonius like her. And it's not like they're slow either. She has managed to catch machine gun fire from just outside that two-meter range. And they're not weak, having thrown a fishing boat a considerable distance. She would literally be impossible to properly balance, and the show is pretty obscure and old, so I don't see her ever getting in. But I can dream.

And another thing, none of the characters are ever given a last name (that I can remember). Except for two villains who are ONLY given their last name and a title. This really hurts the chances for a Survivor (who ALL have a first and last name).

  • I've seen color-coded Dwights named Mario and Luigi, but I usually ignore usernames and focus on who the Survivor is and what they're wearing. Hence why those names stuck out to me, because that was my original thought before I checked their names.

  • The devs are lazy. That's literally it. They don't want to explain how a person from the 1500's perfectly understands how to repair a generator, despite the fact that MOST of the Survivors we have shouldn't be able to repair a generator.

  • While I probably wouldn't have this extreme of a reaction, the terror radius is one of the key things balancing the game. If BHVR were to remove it, they would prove they have no idea what balance means (if they haven't done so already).

  • Sometimes I do if they really ticked me off. The most recent example I can think of was a Feng Min against Pig.

I was on my first hook, Jake was injured and had an active bear trap on his head, and the third survivor was doing a gen somewhere. So what does Min do? She tries healing Jake. The guy with an ACTIVE BEAR TRAP on his head. She doesn't do gens, nor does she go for the person on the hook while the Pig was on the other side of the map. She decided to prevent the person who was trying to survive from surviving by healing him. Oh, and I died on first hook because of this.

This one Min killed half the team. And she ALMOST got hatch. It was so satisfying seeing her get hooked. If I remember correctly, I think she was green rank as well. I've seen brown ranks play better.

  • Unless it's there for everyone to use, it's cheating. Doesn't matter what it is or who it's on. If it's not in the game's system (which is where crosshairs fit in) or if it's an unintended bug that only one system can really use, it's cheating.

That said, I wouldn't be against adding crosshairs as an option with the HUD.

  • With the release of All-Kill, the Trickster has taken Freddy's place as the most modern Killer, though he's not as futuristic as he initially appears.

  • Blight was initially a Survivor before being corrupted by the Entity. An unusually strong Survivor, but still a Survivor. And the archives seem to imply that the Survivors DO kill each other (I don't remember which one said it, but I do remember them burying another Survivor to shut him up).

While a Killer that actually DOES look like a Survivor could be cool, one of the big complaints I've seen about Trickster is how he... looks like a Survivor.

  • I'll level him to 40 so I can get his perks, and, if I enjoy him, I'll add him to my general rotation. If I don't enjoy him, he'll go into the "only for dailies" group along with a few others. I'll still play him though.

  • What's this? People are actually being civil about FNAF? The world really is ending.

Personally, I feel it does fit (Springtrap is the rotting, but still somehow animated, "corpse" of a serial child killer inside an equally rotten animatronic suit, and the series is extremely dark and not childish at all, unless your idea of child entertainment is casual disembowelment every other weekday, and how it gets sold at an elementary school level is way beyond me), and would like to see it some time in the future, but there are bigger names that should hold priority for the time being (Alien being the biggest for me, but Jason is probably the most important, lawsuits aside).

If it happens, that's fine by me. If it doesn't, that's also fine by me. But there is no need to shut down the entire idea because YOU don't like it. I think Jason is overrated and boring, but I'm not stopping people from wanting him.

    @WARW0LF said:

it's already been shot down on a live dev stream, one of the devs answering questions didn't even know what a springtrap was, it's safe to assume FNAF is not even on the devs radar, rightly so

And another dev has stated it as her dream chapter, with the main man Cote seemingly neutral on the topic.

Firstly, let me clear out why does "trickster" doesn't work. New killer is a musician, k-pop superstar, artist and a murderer who thinks that killing is an art. Nothing about him says "tricks". The only time such thing as "tricks" was mentioned was the beginning of his bio where his youth was described. The Trickster doesn't describe his persona, power or character.

You said that he "performs knife tricks" but that's wrong. He doesn't perform knife tricks, he just throws knives. At best you can call that "trick shots", but not tricks. Knife tricks is something you do when you flex with your butterfly knife flipping skills.

The ENTIRE point of the "alias" every killer has (at least the OG killers) is to shortly describe a character or give a clue of their persona, main trait or power. I'll even elaborate and say that the "alias" represents the "trope" the killer is made of.

"Trickster's" alias doesn't represent neither of things I mentioned above multiple times. "The Superstar" or "The Artist" are much better options since they shortly describe who the killer basically is.

Secondly, I'll explain why every single other killers' alias works:

    • Trapper - name describes his power
    • Wraith - name gives a clue what his power does - makes him invisible
    • Hillbilly - name describes his character (a hillbilly)
    • Nurse - name describes a trope this character is based on (nurse killer)
    • Hag - name describes one of her main traits, knowledge of magic symbols that are usually known to witches (or hags). Also, it describes her appearance, since she does look like a hag.
    • Doctor - name describes a trope this character is based on (doctor killer)
    • Huntress - name describes multiple things about this character - it gives a vague clue of her power and describes her character (she's a hunter)
    • Clown - name describes a trope this character is based on (clown killer)
    • Spirit - name once again describes a trope this character is based on (something about japanese view on ghosts and vengeful spirits that also move very unpredictably and look pretty much like rin)
    • Legion - name describes main trait of characters it unites (being a part of a "Legion" that was a defining thing in their lives) the worst name of a killer so far, but there's not really anything else that could be used to describe them.
    • Plague - name describes a thing that lead character to what it is now, as well as it describes a new nature of a character. She is literally a human manifestation of the Plague.
    • Oni - name describes the main trait of a character (a brute ogre demon)
    • Deathslinger - as you said, wordplay on a gunslinger, name pretty much explains what his power is.
    • Blight - name once again describes a thing this character became a manifestation of. Talbot Grimes is basically human manifestation of the Blight corruption and this corruption is now a defining thing in his character. If you read the lore before Descent Beyond release, you could even guess that the "Blight" would be just as aggressive and volatile as blight affected critters in the notes of 2018 event.
    • Twins - name once again describes the main trait of a character and gives a huge clue on their power.

Then we have "The Trickster" whose name describes a minor fact in his bio that was immediately forgotten. This name has the least connection with the killer it is supposed to represent than literally any other name of any other killer in the game. This name sucks ass and the only reason it will not be change is because it is too late.

The way the OP structured their argument seemed to rely on how his alias has no connection to his power, and that is how I approached my argument. Of course that would be an EXTREME oversimplification of the Killers, but this shows the importance of wording your arguments well.

As I said (and you conveniently ignored), I feel the Idol would have been a better name because that is what he was. The Trickster was merely a stage name that does his character little justice (other than a connection to the dokkaebi trickster spirits brought up in Yun-Jin's lore), and will forever be a missed opportunity to use it for a Killer that does ACTUAL tricks.

However, even without taking his power into account, the Trickster does work as a title, even if not the best one. As others have pointed out (and you are calling a stretch), the whole thing behind him is how he looks like an ordinary person, able to blend into a crowd without appearing out of place. He uses this to "trick" people into thinking he's not actually the dangerous serial killer he is. He follows the trope of the villain that you'd never expect to be evil due to his appearance better than ANY OTHER KILLER IN THE GAME.

Once again, "Idol," "Showstar," "Musician," "Popstar," etc. all work way better than Trickster, but his title does work.

  • His name fits a lot better than some of the names we have in regards to his power. Let's just look at them all (at least the original ones).

Trapper - Places traps. The name works.

Wraith - Uses a bell to go invisible. Somewhat works.

Hillbilly - Uses a chainsaw to run around the map. Tell me, when you think of hillbillies, do people with chainsaws REALLY come to mind.

Nurse - Teleports through walls. By your logic, we should rename her as well because Nurse has nothing to do with her power.

Hag - Places traps down and teleports. Again, how does that connect to Hag?

Doctor - Electrocutes people. What is so Doctor-y about that?

Huntress - Throws hatchets while humming a lullaby. Only somewhat works.

Clown - Throughs drug bottles. You know, like Clowns are known to do.

Spirit - Temporarily goes invisible. The name works

Legion - Runs around and stabs people. The only thing that makes them a Legion is their lore and cosmetics.

Plague - Vomits on people. The name works.

Oni - Shifts between katana form and kanabo-wielding demon form, which oni's are known to do. The name works.

Deathslinger - A play on the word gunslinger, which he is. The name works.

Blight - Living pinball. Do I need to explain how thinking of the word Blight doesn't bring that image to mind.

Twins - There are two of them, and they are conjoined. The name works.

Trickster - Performs knife tricks. The name works.

By your own logic of "'trickster' doesn't fit what he's doing or anything at all" being your cause for changing his name, 7 of the 16 original Killers should have their names changed as well.

And before someone goes around and calls me a K-Pop fan for defending his name (because I'm sure someone will), my experience extends to MAYBE two songs (and that's only if K/DA actually counts), so no, I'm not a fan of the genre. I also believe he should have been called the Idol, but then, by OP's logic, he would need to have his name changed because it doesn't really describe what he's doing except in his lore, which is where he gets the name Trickster in the first place, from the dokkaebi trickster spirits.

    Trickster works. Accept it.

If you look at her lore:

According to legend, an occult incantation was engraved on a set of skulls, all of which the Collector possessed except one—the witch's skull.

Yeah, she was stealing a skull, but it was a skull with an occult incantation. Plus, Charlotte & Victor were gonna be used as sacrifices to the Entity by this cult. I'll give you that it's not a perfect attempting to prevent a sacrifice but it does half-fit.

Also, please, call me GoodBoyKaru. "Karu" is reserved for people I trust I know a lot more and, no offence, I don't recognise you at all.

No offence taken. I just always call you "Karu" in my head because it's easier. I'm just glad we could come to a half-fit on this evidence, because it works otherwise.

    not really.

a cult for The Entity exists

as we know elodie gets attacked by a cult that worships the entity. no other survivor has this.

but the memories suggest she was a detective of sorts

we know elodie was someone employed as a detective and collector of strange, mysterious artifacts.

I'm not sure what happened to her

and thus it had to be a female survivor.

it's pretty clear when you compare their lore that it's elodie.

I'll agree with points one and three that you brought up Karu, but not your second. As it says in the Arcus, the unknown Survivor was trying to prevent a cult sacrifice. Elodie was looking for a skull. Two very different things.

oh... weird... myers is to the right of huntress in the menu.

    ok, my bad then.

That would be because he's not free. Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse and Huntress are all free, and that is why they are placed there (same for any Killer on the PTB).

  • image.png

Don't know how long it took me to realize Camaraderie has walky-talkies around the hook. I also don't know what I thought they were, but I know it wasn't walky-talkies.

    image.png

It also took me a while to realize Tenacity is Tapp holding his slashed throat like in the movie.

  • Appearance wise - Oni and Plague take it for me. Oni looks like a proper force of nature and Plague combines the beauty of her robes with the sickness that has overtaken her.

If we look at what they represent however, it's got to be Trickster. If he wasn't around, I would say Legion or Ghost Face. One of them represents how a group of friends can be manipulated into darkness (with Susie being an especially good example) while the other is an egomaniac who kills and reports on his own crimes for the sake of his own ego. But they both have something that Trickster lacks: a mask. The Legion never seem to go on a rampage without their masks hiding their identities, and, despite his ego, Ghost Face still hides his reporter side under a mask so no one will ever know who he is.

Trickster doesn't wear a mask. He WANTS you to know who he is. While he tortures you to death, he WANTS you to be aware of his identity. He is the egomaniac Ghost Face is, times ten. He will kidnap you, torture you, use your screams for his music, all the while with a smile on his face that he WANTS you to see. He is a legitimately horrifying serial killer that NO ONE would expect. That's what his design is. And that's what makes him so terrifying.

  • When I just want to mess around, I play my normal main, Doctor. I almost never take the game seriously when I play him, and I still get 3 kills on average, since I usually give hatch.

  • Quite honestly, shapeshifting. It might not be as cool as something like telekinesis or mind control or something like those, but you could otherwise do pretty much anything.

Need to fly? Turn into a bird. Need to swim? Turn into a fish. Need to hide in plain sight? Turn into an animal that can camouflage. And if we don't limit it to just animals, you could turn your fingers into a key if you forgot your house keys or your hand into a screwdriver to deal with screws. If it's physically possible, you could probably do it with shapeshifting.

  • When I first saw him, my first thought was "What the hell is this?" I thought he really seemed out of place. But the more I think about it, I thought the same thing about Oni. After a few days, his presence will fit in just fine. I think he should have been called the Idol, but his deceitful nature makes the Trickster make sense.

And the personality that flows through him honestly makes him one of the scariest Killers in the game. He's like Legion or Ghost Face, normal people you wouldn't think could be monsters but actually are. Except, unlike them, he doesn't wear a mask to cover hide his identity. He WANTS you to know who he is as he kills you. He WANTS you to see the smile on his face as your life fades away.

His power looks like a lot of fun. Powerful, no. But fun, and that's what I focus on. I don't think he'll replace any of my mains, but I also thought the same about Blight, who's now one of my favorite Killers.

  • Last year we got Calm Spirit, and ONLY Calm Spirit, in the Shrine, because it landed on a Tuesday, and the forums got turned into Comic Sans (or some super fancy font on mobile, but I don't do mobile forums). But I don't recall anything the previous years.

Judging by the collaboration BHVR did with the BTS producer, I'd assume NO SPIN is meant to be their interpretation of them, and a quick Google search shows they started in 2013.

Ji-Woon looks a bit more futuristic than that, but I'm also not an expert on Korean culture.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1995107#Comment_1995107

    no he's not. he isn't a god

he is a powerful monster manifested by the guilt and sexual repression of James Sunderland which came to existence when he entered SIlent Hill.

and since Silent Hill seems to take place in the 90s, that makes him the around the same time as Legion, Ghost Face and Pig.

the oldest is the Plague and the youngest is the Trickster

but if you're talking about actual age. then Pyramid would be the youngest, since he was born when James entered Silent Hill and went to the Entity Realm after James left Silent Hill, which means he was only a couple few hours old. making him the youngest.

Even that's not entirely right. Our Pyramid Head is (as stated in the Blood-Soaked Pyramid Head P3 skin) "A manifestation of guilt, this punishing force took shape in Cheryl's dreams and tormented her with nightmarish visions of gore." Which I took into account for his placement being in the early 2000s rather than the 90s. It's the same Pyramid Head, but it's also a very different one.

  • There is literally nothing. I saw one post get made speculating about it, and suddenly EVERYONE seemed to jump on the bandwagon on both sides.

It seriously reminded me of all the FNAF posts that we got after Silent Hill was brought in. One got made, and everyone decided to make posts about it for no reason.

  • Leatherface's map is technically Grim Pantry, since they came out at the same time and it's a cannibal village, even though he's always associated with Coldwind Farm.

Ghost Face came out around the same time as the variations of Badham Preschool, which technically makes those his map. Cheap and boring? Yes, but it's the truth.

So that leaves Blight and Twins as the only Killers without a map of their own. Blight this makes sense for, as he was initially a Survivor wandering the realms, but the Twins don't make as much sense.

  • Everyone knows that Adept Killer is asinine, but BHVR really can't do anything because they are still technically possible. And even if they could, this IS BHVR.

You need to be absolutely perfect or else gens will fly by before you can do anything. But you can't be too perfect or else Survivors will die too quickly. Any Killer that has an insta-down ability has a massive disadvantage for using their power because they can't get hits easily. Oh, and you also need to rely on Survivors not giving up on the hook, not DCing, and actually saving their teammates. Oh, AND the requirements get more insane at higher ranks.

Meanwhile, Survivors just need to escape.

How the hell I got Adept Twins on my first attempt at rank 6 still eludes me.

  • I prefer the old HUD, but I got used to it after one or two games.

It has problems, but the one that I feel was the biggest was the fact that BHVR went through with the 4.5.0 HUD after all of the backlash it received to begin with. I got used to that quickly too, but it was not a good look for them.

  • Literally just having fun is a win for me. It's part of the reason I mained Doctor even back when he was considered one of the weakest Killers in the game.

If I can score some kills, fine. If I can spend the last generator serving drinks to Yui and Claudette in the Mount Ormond Resort bar as Nurse (and later being the one being served), I'll take that just as well.

Same thing applies to playing Survivor. I play for fun, hence most of my builds being somewhat memey and based entirely around the Survivors' personalities.

  • I think this is a new record for me. Getting Nurse's archive completed on the day it's ending released. I think even Blight was delayed by a day or two.

Also did some slight adjustments to Clown's early lore, since it was heavily reliant on Nurse's somewhat uncertain placement.

  • I think it's fairly obvious.

Doctor. From a young age, he was figuring out all sorts of things. It's what led to him getting recruited by the CIA.

The other Killers range from average intelligence to those with a high degree of intelligence, but Doctor's way above them.

  • Two weeks ago. Partly due to the state of the game right now, partly due to other interests, mostly due to college eating up my time.

    1. Doctor - Ever since I first saw him, I fell in love with his psychological horror theme. Played him for the first time on my second day of playing DBD, haven't looked back.
    2. Legion - One of the simplest Killers out there, and simplicity is sometimes better than complexity.
    3. Blight - Even simpler than Legion, and WAY stronger.
    4. Hag - In my opinion, the strongest Killer in the game (with Nurse and Blight right behind) when played right.
    5. Oni - Quite honestly, I mostly play Oni for the sake of an inside joke between me and my old chemistry teacher (very long story that I don't feel like explaining).
  • For me, Trapper and Spirit. I'm not very good at setting traps correctly and, even with decent headphones, I can't pinpoint where people are with Spirit for a post-phase hit.

Ghost Face's old daily was ridiculous as well, but they changed that recently to something that's actually possible. And if you don't have a good grasp on Blight, his is really hard too.

  • Kate has the better perks and is one of the quietest characters.

That said, I like Yui way more and am going to suggest her solely for that.

Looking at his arm, it's possible he has a slight tan, but his name is quite possibly the most stereotypically white name that's in this game.

Sorry, but he doesn't seem to be Hispanic.

  • I don't think DBD is ever really going to die. Not unless an actual competent competitor comes around (which, in the almost five years DBD has been around, hasn't happened). DBD has too many licenses under its belt for any competitor to really handle.

And in terms of player count going down, that was to be expected. 2020 saw a massive pandemic that kept people at home, giving them more time to play games like DBD. Now that things are (sort of) calming down, people don't have the same time anymore.

However, BHVR's decisions recently have definitely left a poor taste in people's mouths. The real-money only cosmetics, the "premium" rift pass that actually has things in it when the free rift pass gives you something maybe every three levels (something that's barely worth it), the below lackluster Halloween event, pretty much the entirety of A Binding of Kin, "He Who Shall Not Be Named" going off on multiple tangents (related to OoO and color-blindness), the very much hated HUD design going through anyway despite pretty much everyone saying it was bad, etc. All of this just shows that BHVR really doesn't care about the consumer anymore.

I love this game, and I don't see it truly dying. But BHVR needs to wake up and see that they're actions are hurting more than they're helping.

  • Spark of Madness.

Both my favorite Killer and my favorite Survivor for a LONG time came out with it. And while I don't enjoy the gameplay of the map, aesthetically, it's pretty cool.

  • A couple of years ago, I went to bring one of my dogs in, and found her growling at something. She's normally this playful, happy dog, but her hackles were raised and it was NOT a friendly, playful growl. There was something nearby that she did not want around.

Then I heard something growl back and scamper off. Needless to say, I didn't put my other dog out for a few hours.

  • To this day, the only time I've really screamed in actual fear was when the Pig was crouching behind me when I thought I was sneaking away.

I'll jump at the others, but I haven't screamed at them.
