  • I can never recommend DBD at full price. It's just not worth it.

If the game is on sale, I might recommend it. I might not.

I'd always recommend giving it a try during the times it's available for free. If they enjoy it, it's usually on sale during that time as well. If they don't, they didn't waste any money.

It really all depends on what the situation is.

  • They might be trying to taunt you, they might be trying to give you a hit, it's hard to say. They could be trying to extend the match because (I believe) you get more Iridescent Shards the longer you're in the match for (could be wrong on that).

  • You were banned during the month I had it changed. You only came back during the tail end of it.

I'll change it for this weekend for you though.

  • I run Tinkerer (his speed can get the jump on those gens) and Shadowborn (better field of view for rushing), and the other two perks I run are just placeholders while I try to get BBQ (Aura-reading) and Monitor (smaller TR) (Knock Out is one of them, I forgot what the other is and don't feel like booting the game up to find out).

If your good at pressuring gens, I really don't see the need for Ruin and Undying on him. I know rank doesn't matter at this time, but I've done consistently well with him at rank 5 with my current build.

  • There wasn't a winter event last year, so don't expect anything.

About the only thing we'll get is some ugly Christmas sweaters for Zarina, Felix and the next Survivor, and maybe for Laurie, Cheryl and a few Killers (depending on how the Halloween license holders and Konami feel).

  • The increased price is just a side effect of consistency. And as others have said, the green/purple/purple perks have gotten cheaper, which levels the grind out in the game.

Seriously, DBD has issues with the grind, but this isn't one of them.

  • When I was first starting out with Blight, I had no idea how to play him and was ready to place him with Hillbilly and Nurse as a Killer I'll never use.

Then I spent around a few hours getting him from Level 14 to 40, got his Adept around 23, and can safely place him in my top 5.

He's a lot of fun to play, and when you have him down, he is scarily effective. Getting him down is the hard part.

He's like Nurse, but I actually find him fun.

Can't say much against him though, since I haven't seen him much.

  • My theory is that he became the True Blight first, but it was a limited thing.

After the Entity's Blight ended, the pustula had no more control over Talbot, but his unstable mind wanted to retain that power, so he started injecting himself with the serum in the hopes that he could regain that power, to no avail.

Most of what was going on in Doors Unknown was a fever dream while the Entity toyed with him, working him into the Killer it wanted. The dragon, the monks, the pile of corpses, the withering flowers... all of it was the Entity's manipulation.

    @chieften333 said:

My guess is that the true blight is another talbot grimes. The lore states that there is a multiverse, and who's to say the entity isn't playing favorites with talbot and making multiple blights?

While there is a multiverse, the devs have also stated that there is only one of each character in the realms.

  • I spent a couple of hours getting Doors Unknown done, so here it is.

  • I doubt the next Chapter is licensed (leaks), but I will still hold out on the fact that Candyman was teased so heavily around the anniversary (which was to happen around the same time as the movie before Covid) and want it to be him.

I have a feeling he'll be coming in March though. Cote mentioned REALLY liking the concept after talking about Hellraiser, so something similar to that is expected, but it's also possible that he was referring to the concept that just entered development (something we won't see until next year).

  • I honestly think the devs themselves will be the cause of the game's death.

I love Dead by Daylight, but BHVR... not so much. I believe a few of them really do care about this game. Cote, McLean, Not_Queen all seem to legitimately care about the game (to me, at least), but the lack of real communication with the community and blatant greed (this is a 20 dollar game that releases 7-8 dollar DLC every 3 months with paid cosmetics that, more often than not, cost between 5-10 dollars as well as a paid battle pass, and this event is just pure greed on all fronts, there is no sugarcoating it) will kill the servers, though I don't think the game itself will ever truly die. It survived for a while on Peer-to-Peer and there's always KYF if you want to play with friends.

  • Of the options you provided, Springtrap's probably the one I most want, but that doesn't really say much considering who else is on here.

I don't see how Chucky could possibly work, I have no knowledge of Resident Evil or Outlast, would rather have an original Wendigo to a licensed one (which we already kind of have), and Jack Torrance isn't even a blip on my radar. Seriously, he's just a guy who went crazy and had one memeable scene.

Springtrap is still a low priority on my list, but he's the only one on my list from these options. Give me a xenomorph or Candyman any day.

  • Moonrise was fun on both ends for me. I still wear Feng Min's dress.

I also liked looking around for crowns as Killer during the anniversary, though I really didn't bother with Survivors (not much time left when I came in and I just enjoy Killer more).

  • Unless I'm forgetting what the folder was called (and I checked every folder in UI, so that's literally impossible), the character portraits were removed as well, while literally everything else remains untouched.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

You mean they removed the outfit tab in game?

In the game files, the skins used to be under "Customization," but now every single one of them is gone.

I know because I was doing a similar thing on Google Slides, but the skins are suddenly gone.

  • Ghost Face is definitely getting one, RJ is just so cooperative and genuinely seems to enjoy working with BHVR on his character.

But everyone seems to be forgetting that Bill is FREE. While I'm honestly not expecting any Archive for him for a while, everyone has access to him, making all of his challenges readily available.

I just really want actual lore for the Halloween and Stranger Things cast, because there might as well be nothing there. Leatherface, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, Ash and (to a lesser degree) the Silent Hill characters have decent backstories while Nancy is sitting around with a single, non-descriptive paragraph and Laurie and Michael aren't even explained in their way to the realms.

  • If I had to choose, I would probably get rid of Steve, but not because I hate him. If I went by that metric, Nea would be gone in the blink of an eye.

I just really don't like how the Stranger Things chapter brought two Survivors (it completely throws off my OCD) and Nancy actually has some good perks, so I can't really vote her out.

  • I've tried reading this over so many times, trying to piece together what you're trying to say. After reading it over almost ten times, I think I've gotten the idea of what you're going for, but please. Take some time yourself to read over the creations you make. Every single one of them suffers from the same problems: run on sentences that make it impossible to tell what's going on and confusing descriptions.

I believe that you are trying to make something, but when people can't understand what you're saying because of the nonexistent sentence structure you follow, they won't take you seriously and you will never get anywhere with it. And you should do some actual research on these characters you are bringing into Dead by Daylight. You have been so completely wrong on so many characters that it's honestly infuriating.

As for the only things that matter with Survivors, your perks are terrible here. Back from the Dead is stupidly confusing. From what you've typed, I'm guessing that when you are Exposed SPECIFFICALLY by a Hex Perk (of which there are three, Devour Hope, Haunted Grounds and NOED), instead of being Exposed, you're Oblivious for 60 seconds. I think that's what you're trying to say, but as written, it sounds more like you're both Exposed AND Oblivious, which is the worst kind of detriment. And you gave no progression.

Escape with Me actually seems like an actual perk that could be feasible. You need to think more of perks like this and less like almost any other perk you have made.

And I Will Leave is completely useless. Blood Warden is one of 75 possible Killer perks to be run. Since there are four perk slots, there is a 5.33% chance that one of those slots will have Blood Warden. And that would be saying that all perks are equal, which they are not. Blood Warden is such a lackluster perk that I have probably only seen in use as a Survivor three times in the over 2 YEARS I've been playing. And once again, no room for progression.

Please, THINK before you create anything. Make sure it is readable so someone like me doesn't have to go on a rant about how confusing your creations are, and make sure that your perks are actually useable.

  • According to leaks, it's Adam, though his absence here does worry me a little.

We'll have to wait and see.

  • I would absolutely love to see a werewolf. I think there's quite a bit of room to work with here.

I don't exactly have the best opinion on the stereotypical vampire. I just find the classic Dracula-type vampire to be basic and boring. A nonstandard variation on the classic vampire would be welcome, or something like a Jiangshi, but Dracula is too easy to fall back on.

  • If the game were rebuilt from the ground up? Sure.

As the game is now? Absolutely not.

  • Nothing too special, but my heater has turned itself on multiple times. And it's not an automatic. You either have to manually press the buttons on it or use the remote, which I have always had resting on the heater itself because it doesn't really work.

I know I'm not forgetting about it because I hear the noise it makes when the button is pressed. So unless it just randomly decides to reset itself (which seems like a major flaw in the heater), there is no other explanation that makes sense.

  • I didn't know how to fast vault for the longest time. And at this time I mostly played Feng Min, who has a perk that requires you to fast vault.

I'm also fairly certain I committed to chases way too much.

  • Maybe I'm partially biased as a Doctor main, but there is just something about Doctor's that I really love. Hag is a close second

Though, if the Legion skin will be as good as the leaks seem to imply, it might overtake both of these.

  • I have coulrophobia.

Doctor would be a close second, but he's not a clown.

Only Frank's age is clearly confirmed, however it's my personal headcanon that Julie is the same age because they're in a relationship and the lore specifies that the people at Julie's party were younger than him (IE Joey and Susie), not Julie herself.

Aside from this we can't say for certain, however, it was commented on by either the devs themselves or just other Fog Whisperers / Content Creators around the time the Stranger Things chapter was speculated as the next chapter release. They said the devs would never select minors (AKA the main cast of the show, so Mike, Lucas, Will, Dustin, Eleven, etc.) to put into the game because it would create bad publicity, having some 14 year olds being brutally cut, beaten, impaled, and murdered isn't a good look even for a horror game. So from this we can basically infer that anyone 17 and under won't be making an appearance in the game, and everyone in the realm of the entity is a (more or less) consenting adult (lol).

Which would mean that Joey and Susie are both 18.

Personally speaking, 19 & 18 aren't exactly what come to mind when I think of the word "underage", so in most cases I would say no except for the only way I could imagine that word applying to them is in terms legal drinking age in the US.

However, (and I think it's kinda obvious where I'm going with this)

Mount Ormond (as far as I'm aware) is in Canada. Where the legal drinking age is eighteen years of age.

So by no metric would any of the members of the Legion be considered "underage".

Yeah, I was thinking U.S. drinking laws when I said underage.

The worst part of that is I can literally look out my window and see Canada, and a lot of people here go up there (provided there isn't a pandemic) to drink due to the lesser laws. Yet I somehow forgot about that.

Though admittedly, I remember one of the devs (I believe it was Peanits) making a big fuss about Laurie and Quentin being around 21 around the same Stranger Things time because, in their respective universes, they are both 17. I'm not going to dig around for it, but I remember looking at that statement and rolling my eyes at it.

  • No reason, they just wanted to have Hag be played for a challenge.

Same thing for needing to play Kate for Dwight's lore.

  • I would love to see a fallen angel-type of Killer, or at least someone with delusions of such grandeur, but I know that will literally never happen due to religion being such a heavy topic.

Beyond that, I really want to see this creature:

    image.png

    become fully fleshed out.

  • I think I've seen Peanits mention something about how Pyramid Head works in the canon (or maybe it was Nancy and Steve), but as of right now, it's more up to you.

I consider them to be canon because of the established lore surrounding them. Others don't because they are licensed, and licensed characters in other media are rarely ever canon.

  • One, this is not lore, but I'll forgive you due to the buggy state of the forums right now.

For my actual answer, it took me about five months to figure out how to fast vault. For some reason, I kept stopping my sprint when I came up to a window, then vaulted.

Somehow, the amount of times this got me grabbed was actually pretty small.

  • Why is 2020 trying to be as painful as it can at every opportunity.

I think Cheers and I interacted maybe once or twice, but he was one of the names that I always recognized. He was one of the most genuine people I saw here, and he didn't deserve what he got. No one does, and especially not at his age.

Never forget him Karu. That's all I can say. You'll meet again one day.

  • @Competitive_Ice_ said:

Title says it all. i don't think they are, but idk, it's not confirmed anywhere

"Frank Morrison was nineteen and had little to show for it." Word for word from their backstory.

And we know the others are younger than him because everyone at Julie's parties was younger than him.

If by underage, you mean under 21, then yes.

  • The real first thing I do is check for Freddy clocks on our profiles. If they are there, I have narrowed down the Killers it could be to Freddy.

After that, I work on a close gen, unless I'm running Deja Vu, in which case I go for one of those three gens.

  • I kind of got lucky and got The Game as Wraith, where totems actually have good spawns.

The thing is, like everyone else is saying, you don't need Devour Hope active to finish the challenge. You can bring a Mori, Rancor, or Tombstone Myers for the kill, and you can bring any of the perks or use powers that make Survivors Exposed to complete it. As long as you have Devour Hope equipped, whether or not it's cleansed, you can still get the challenge.

With the MacMillan map reworks, there seem to be screens/monitors in one of the maps. Do you think this means Trapper is from a later time period, or the version of the map we're seeing is from a later point in time?

It's possible his final placement might change a bit (which is admittedly shaky where it is, due to his age being impossible to decipher). The first monitors like them were invented around 1950ish.

As the maps are taken from the minds of the characters, it's possible that Evan was taken a decade later than I originally thought, or there could (unlikely) be another Killer on the MacMillan Estate that we'll never see, hunting in the realms.

  • Oh my gosh, thank you. I searched up "Nigerian killing crews" and came back with nothing, but this perfectly places his archive.

It won't have too much effect on his final placement, but it will bump it up.

  • I originally wanted to get Algebra of Infinite Night and Philip's final placement out yesterday, but there was no way I was getting it done with 1100 ping.

Sorry for this update being so delayed, but it's here now.

  • I would love this game to be optimized, but too much time between new content would kill it too fast. I think 6 months would be enough time to get things at a decently fixed state.

  • I wouldn't jump for joy if he was added, but I wouldn't go on a madness induced rampage either.

With Help Wanted, Scott seems to be going in a more mature direction for the series. Give him time to do so, then we can bring this up again. Until then, I'm just tired of seeing this topic and want it to die.

Do I want him? Down the road, maybe, but not right now. Not when there are much bigger and more important names that are still absent from the roster.

  • Literally the ONLY legendary skin that I would even consider being worth it would be turning David Tapp into Daniel Riggs or Eric Matthews (preferably Riggs), because that's who should have been the Saw Survivor to begin with.

Any other legendary skins, especially for original characters where it takes away from potential future characters, are a waste of time and money.

  • None of the old Killers (besides Shape, who was a special case as the first licensed Killer) were given unique chase music because they were never originally PLANNED to have unique chase music. It wasn't until Demogorgon that they decided to do unique music for each Killer.

It's not a missing feature if it wasn't planned. End of discussion.

  • Now that you say this, I suddenly want Strahd von Zarovich as a Killer, maybe with Rudolph van Richten as the Survivor.

It will literally never happen, and is way too far into fantasy for BHVR's normal DBD style, but the connections are there. Maybe an agreement between Ravenloft and the Entity to allow Strahd to participate in the trials, similar to Silent Hill and the Entity. Plus Castle Ravenloft has so much potential for a map.

  • @Deadeye said:

What is wrong with the descriptions? The Devout emblem is pretty clear. 20 per sacrifice, 10 if you got everyone at least once, 10 when you get at least 9 hooks.

So you can either miss a sacrifice if you get the two +10 options or you simply kill everybody (also possible with mori then) and are guaranteed the gold emblem

Edit: thought you need gold, but you need iri. Sooo you need a 4k, 9 hooks and everybody hooked at least once (which should be auto if you 4k unless the last one dies to EGC).

    image.png

The description of the Devout emblem clearly states that iridescent is granted for nine or more hooks in a match. NOWHERE does it mention the need to 4K, making this challenge incredibly misleading.

My first go at the challenge had me get 11 hooks with Legion and the last Meg got out through the hatch. I was going to give her the hatch anyway because I was counting the hooks and, following this description, I should have gotten iridescent Devout (and I kind of felt bad that they didn't get a single gen done in those 12 or so minutes the match lasted). However, because Meg escaped, I got gold instead.

THAT is what is wrong with this description. If it was more accurate (saying you need 9 hooks AND a 4K), I don't think anyone would be complaining. As is, it's misleading at best, completely bugged at worst.

  • No. The entire point of Talbot is how his ambition drove him mad enough to become a Killer.

I do want a Survivor from the 1800s like him, but not Talbot himself.

  • @Mister_xD said:

you need to get 9 hook actions AND 4 kills for it to be iridescent.

kills count a lot more than the 9 hooks you need, those were merely put in to further disencourage camping and slugging.

    image.png

It should be A LOT clearer in the description then. The way it's written, it's only nine hooks to get iridescent.

  • The rare times where I'm able to run the Killer for considerably longer than ten seconds because I can't loop worth a damn AND the other Survivors actually do gens. It's always one or the other, rarely both.

On the Killer side of things, just fooling around as Doctor is enough to make me happy. Doesn't matter the result of the match (though I usually 3-4K without much effort), as long as it's Doctor, I'm fine.

  • More than likely, it was a cane from the "monastery" that he used because of his injury. When he became the Blight, the Entity needed to give him a weapon and saw how deadly it could be (because seriously, don't underestimate how lethal something with such a small point of impact can be. There was a reason why hitting someone with the crossguard of a sword is called a murder stroke).

  • Breakdown is a situational perk at best. it's useful sometimes, like when the Killer is camping and you break their hook, which saves someone else temporarily, but too often hooks are too close together to make it worth using.

  • It was a livestream from before Pig came out.

126 votes and 179 comments so far on Reddit

Here's the Reddit review of it. Sarah seems to be for it, we know McClean is strongly against it, and Matthieu didn't seem to hold an opinion at that time. That's three dev opinions that all conflict with each other.

  • With how much they teased Candyman around the anniversary, only to seemingly suddenly change it to Silent Hill at the last second, I'm going to keep expecting the next chapter to be Candyman until he finally comes out.

Beyond that, they've expressed interest in Chucky and Pennywise (neither of which I see working), and Jason's lawsuit should be over by then.
