What kind of original characters do you want?

I see a lot of posts on here talking about what kind of licensed characters they would want, but I have always found the game's original killers and survivors to be far more interesting. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to see Myers and Pyramid Head chasing me, but I think the lore surrounding the game and it's original characters are amazing. So that brings me to my question: What kind of original characters do you want to see?

Personally, my favorite killers so far have been the ones that are from long ago historical periods. Plague, Huntress - Oni in particular, So I would really enjoy seeing a Knight killer. The idea of playing as- or being chased by - a monster in full plated armor sounds awesome. A Plague Doctor killer would be cool too, but I'm not sure if we'll get one considering we already have Doc and Plague. Survivors are a little harder to talk about, since as far as I can tell they're all modern times, but a historian or detective survivor sounds cool.

  • Give me a multi-bodied killer that actually has that part of their power. Either have two different people control the two bodies, or allow the sole killer player to swap between the bodies at will. Give us the killer that Legion should have been.

I made an extremely detailed suggestion for that: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/165212/killer-with-multiple-bodies-idea

  • We have The Nurse, and The Doctor... Where's the The Podiatrist?

For survivor, I would like a male Japanese delinquent, kinda like Jotaro Kujo, but obviously not as broken.

  • An actor, and they’d probably be british, cause like, shakespeare and all. Any who i’ve suggested this like 100 times. Here’s the perks.

Echo’s Voice - After healing another survivor the perk activates. When 12/14/16 metres of the killer you make the noise of the injured survivor you healed for 15/20/25 seconds.

Echo’s Voice has a cool down of 80/70/60 seconds.

Prop Mastery- After searching a chest, Prop Mastery Activates. While active you can close the chest while an item is inside and get another item. The item will have 30/50/70% charges.

Prop Mastery has a cool down of 60/50/40.

Prop Mastery works with all chest related perks.

    Exit stage left.

Years of acting has given you the knowledge of where to be and how to get there.

    Vault 30/40/50% faster.

Exit stage left has a cool down of 30/25/20 seconds.

  • I want a farmer survivor and a merchant Killer who can borrow other killers power.

so I came up with a idea for a dragon killer the other day, and I thought I should expand the idea with a map, lore, a in depth explanation to it's power, addons and some perks, so here goes

"Here is the latest Chapter for Dead By Daylight, witness what happens when scientific ambition goes too far with the Blighted Wings chapter"

New Map: Talbot's Laboratory: "A complex maze of hallways, Talbot worked on his compounds in the center room, evidence of his experiments still remain after all this time, large holes can be found in the walls, the results of one of his more...inventive experiments"

The map is similar to Midwhich in the sense that it's both a indoor and outdoor map, it has a very 19th century vibe to it's architecture, fitting considering who the lab belonged to, two courtyards can be found at the east and west of the building that have a stair case to the upper levels, blocked off by a pallet each, 2 additional stairwells are at the north and south with a central staircase in the central laboratory, and the hallways are broken up with rooms similar to the ones found in Hawkins, RNG is present but only with pallet locations in the rooms, some safer then others, additional opening can be made by breaking walls, some should be broken, and others shouldn't, similar to Dead Dawg, generators can be found in each of the courtyards, the central laboratory, and other rooms, a 3 gen is possible if you defend the right generators, but it isn't impossible to win if you do not do this (coughxAzarovsRestingPlacexcough)

    New Killer: The Experiment

Appearance: Head: "Blighted Eyes: "glowing eyes and a elongated mouth filled with sharp teeth leak the serum constantly, drooling in anticipation for the kill", Body: "Scaled Body, elongated and grown because of the serum, the wings are useless for flight but effective at announcing it's presence", Weapon: "Blighted Claws: Sharp glowing claws protruding from the beast's feet, capable of shredding through flesh and bone with ease"

if you want a general idea of what I think it should look like, imagine if Gore Magala from Monster Hunter got a Hallowed Blight skin and that was the Experiment's default skin

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/P3E1JMMJBBCN/image.png

(for the uninitiated, this is what Gore Magala looks like)

Lore: "Talbot's attempts to escape the Entity's realm started relatively calmly, trying to find ways of escaping, he didn't know what the flowers could do when he first found them, and decided to test what would happen if something was to be injected with it's nectar, he took the flowers to his laboratory in the realms, and experimented with it's properties, but he was first going to test it on a living organism, a small, simple lizard, Talbot injected it with the Compound, at first nothing happened, the lizard then began to wiggle and writhe, before dropping to the floor."

"As Talbot looked at it, it began wiggling, growing, elongating into something unrecognisable, it's face elongated as it's mouth filled with razor sharp teeth, it's body sprouting 2 wings that rested along it's now hunched over body, it's tail ending in a club-like protrusion, and it's feet each sprouting 4 claws, the serum leaking from it's eyes, mouth, wings and claws."

"Talbot was in shock at what was in front of him, the beast turned to face him, while its body had changed its instincts hadn't, the serum messing with what little intellect it had, the beast roared with its now strained vocal cords, and began smashing up the laboratory, burning parts of the equipment to cinders, it rampaged through the hallways, breaking out of the laboratory."

"Talbot, after making attempted at salvaging his destroyed equipment, and took notes of what happened and how the experiment turned out, it was a failure, but he could learn from it was invaluable, or so he hoped."

"As for the Beast, it found it's way into the Entity's gaze, sensing a effective way to reap hope from the survivors, it brought it into it's fold, unleashing it on all who found their way into the realms for the rest of eternity"

Stats: Tall, 32m Terror Radius, 115% movement speed

    Power: Blighted Beast

By pressing and holding M2, the Experiment starts charging Blighted Blast, a fireball that behaves like Deathslingers Redeemer, but with longer range (you will hear a sound when it has reached max charge), the longer you hold down m2, the bigger and faster and further the fireball goes, if it hits a survivor it will injure or down them, fully charged it can break pallets and walls, it takes 3 seconds to fully charge and has a 10 second cooldown at base and changes with addons.

Holding CTRL allows you to initiate Blighted Dash, a short distance dash, this can't injure survivors and is simply useful for gaining distance, if you end the charge by yourself without hitting a wall and turn the camera around fast enough, you'll actually sort of drift along the floor and end with facing the survivor, menacingly, this ability has a 60 second cooldown the distance travelled and cooldown changes with addons

instead of vaulting windows, pressing Space will destroy them instead, destroyed windows remain broken for 120 seconds at base and changes depending on addons

Lobby Animations: The Experiment towers over the rest of the cast, being 2 feet taller then the tallest killers (so Myers, Trapper, etc), in the main opening lobby it's hunched over, staring at the campfire, mouth open and drooling serum, ready to pounce at a moments notice, in the actual game waiting lobby the Experiment is sitting on it's stomach, looking around, taking it's surroundings in, occasionally it rears up and roars, it also makes random growling noises on occasions, similar to Demogorgon

Walking: while it's walking animation is simple (walking on all fours like you would expect a animal to casually stroll around), I realise that a Dragon is...for lack of a better word, rather long, and having it move in a 360 motion whenever you move the camera would look pretty damn stupid, so instead I came up with a unique idea, moving the camera only moves the beast's head, and it's body naturally turns around if you move the camera far enough, so if you're standing still and pan the camera right, the Experiment's model will move that same direction, with the feet and body making the needed adjustments in order to make the movements look natural, when walking into walls the model will just push against it instead of clipping through it, this only applies to major things like trees and walls, if it had to do that for every single object then it'd be really dumb. still works with red light mindgames too since the red light only moves with the head and not the body, so you could still look away from the building and not give your position away because of clipping issues

Attacking: The Experiment raises one claw and swings downward, if it connects then the Experiment raises it's head and roars (this is only a visual thing, won't actually effect the camera from a first person perspective, I don't think I need to really explain why)

Carrying: The Experiment gently grabs the survivor by the back of their clothing, throwing them on the ground, then grabbing them with it's claw before throwing them on the hook, a longer then normal hooking animation, but given the size of the model it would be very difficult to body block it

Window breaking: The Experiment dashes through the window, destroying it

Pallet Breaking: The Experiment slams down onto the pallet with a closed fist, breaking it in a single strike

Wall breaking: The Experiment charges a fireball, shooting it into the wall, destroying it

Mori: The Experiment grabs the survivor in it's jaws, tossing them around like a chew toy before throwing them to the ground, breathing a stream of fire on them before roaring.

    Perks:

Experimental Fury: breaking 4/3/2 pallets or windows and then entering a chase activates this perk, upon activation, gain a 5% haste effect for 10 seconds, and a 10% decreased attack cooldown time for 30 seconds, upon leaving a chase, this perk deactivates

Hex: Wings of Hunting: Upon hooking a survivor, all survivors in a 10/15/20 meter radius screams, revealing their location, this perk deactivates once the hex totem is broken

Blighted Presence: When a survivor is within your terror radius, they move 10% slower when outside of a chase, and are affected by the exhausted status effect for 10/15/20 seconds that remains until they enter a chase or leave your terror radius, if a survivor is injured, they will also suffer from mangled for 10/15/20 seconds until they enter a chase or leave your terror radius

    Addons:

    COMMON

Weathered Claw: a old claw that was shed when it became dull, it was replaced almost immediately, slightly decreases the cooldown of Blighted Dash

Blighted Cinders: some material that was burned by the Experiment, slightly decreases the charging time of Blighted Blast

Old Scale: a old scale that was shed: slightly decreases the cooldown of Blighted Blast

Plaster: bits of plaster from the walls the Experiment broke through, slightly increases how long windows are broken for, increases how many windows can be broken by 1

    UNCOMMON

Old Beaker: one of the beakers used for creating the serum, moderately increases the maximum distance of Blighted Dash

Old Bricks: some of the bricks from the laboratory walls, moderately decreases the cooldown of Blighted Dash

Table Leg: The Experiment broke some tables during it's initial rampage, this is what remains from one, moderately decreases the charge time of Blighted Blast

Regurgitated Serum: The Experiment occasionally vomits out some of the serum, it collects and changes the environment around it, Moderately decreases the cooldown of Blighted Blast

Talbot's Journal: Talbot used many methods and jotted down all of them: Moderately increases how long windows are broken for

    RARE

Wing Membrane: Old membrane from the Experiment's wings, it got broken off during it's escape, considerably decreases the cooldown of Blighted Dash, slightly increases the distance of Blighted Dash

Chipped Tooth: The Experiment tried biting through the walls, it didn't work out very well, considerably decreases the charging time of Blighted Blast

Old Tail-spike: a bit from the Experiment's tail, it's not nearly as sharp as it's teeth but still dangerous, survivors within 16 metres of the Experiment have their aura revealed for 10 seconds if Blighted Dash ends by crashing into a wall, slightly increases the cooldown of Blighted Dash

Destroyed Equipment: Old Laboratory equipment, only chips of wood and shards of glass remain: Considerably decreases the cooldown of Blighted Blast, slightly increases the distance a fully charged Blighted Blast fireball can travel

The Page: The page that contains the serum recipe, it's old and the writing is illegible: Considerably increases how long windows are broken for, increases how many windows can be broken by 2

    VERY RARE

Shedded Skin: a layer of skin that the Experimented shed soon after escaping, it's remains are translucent and covered in Serum, Tremendously increases the distance that a fully charged Blighted Blast fireball can go, considerably increases the cooldown of Blighted Blast

Tooth Necklace: Talbot found traces of his creation in the realms, he collected them and examined them, even creating accessories like these, moderately increases the speed of Blighted Blast and Blighted Dash, moderately increases the cooldown of Blighted Blast and Blighted Dash

Handful of Scales: a simple handful of scales, coated in Serum even now, Survivors who pass through broken windows have their auras revealed for 10 seconds, moderately decreases how long windows are broken for

Research Notes: Talbot's notes on the Experiment, describing it as "Savage and Untamed", Survivors hit by Blighted Blast suffer from the Mangled and Haemorrhage status effects for 150 seconds

    ULTRA RARE

Iridescent Scales: a collection of scales, twisted into a glassy form by the Entity's power, Blighted Blast now insta-downs survivors when fully charged, Tremendously increases the Distance a fully charged Blighted Blast fireball can travel, Considerably increases the speed a fully charged Blighted Blast fireball travels at, Tremendously increases the cooldown of Blighted Blast

    Does not stack

Old Vial: The vial containing the Serum that created the Experiment: Blighted Dash will no longer be stopped by Pallets, Windows or Breakable walls, Blighted Dash now breaks pallets, Windows and Breakable walls

and that's it, what do you think of this idea? it's really far out there I know, but i'm certain it's at least sort of within the realms of possibility

Here's my post on how a Dragon could work in DBD

  • Monsters. Not people with issues that get cursed or mutated, I'm talking straight animals. All we got is demogorgon and they're licenced. I wanna see how BHVR would handle a creature.

  • Definitely would like a survivor based on the douchebag/ alpha b*tch stereotypes in horror.

Basically perks that are very self serving you would have to make sure they can't be used to intentionally screw over your team (As much as it would fit the theme of the character it would be terrible for gameplay)

  • I want a goth/emo looking guy. No, Jeff doesn't count.

  • I'd really like to see a Medieval-themed chapter. Mainly because I want a spooky-castle map, but having some kind of undead knight (could even be Headless-Horseman-esque) as a killer might be fun too.

Otherwise I think some kind of puppet or marionette monster would be an interesting visual style to explore.

I guess I don't really care much in the ways of new powers, just future aesthetics that I'd like to see in the game.

  • Someone that uses some kind of insects as a power.

Bees would come to mind, but even if they use those for Candyman, an original Killer with another kind, like locusts, would be appreciated.

Other idea would be a photographer or some kind of pyromaniac (I have some basic concepts in creations on those ideas)

  • I would love to see a fallen angel-type of Killer, or at least someone with delusions of such grandeur, but I know that will literally never happen due to religion being such a heavy topic.

Beyond that, I really want to see this creature:

    image.png

    become fully fleshed out.

    Yare Yare Daze

but that would be interesting to have an Marine Biologist as a survivor

  • @Marigoria said:

Would like a psychotic, goth survivor who is addicted to the dark side and use selfdestructing perks.

Another beast killer or the headless horseman would be nice, too.

  • I think a banshee would be pretty cool. it could be a ranged based killer that damages you if you are exposed to her scream for too long. she could even have a AOE ability that can be activated if multiple survivors are in range and it takes 1 health state away from each of them.

  • I love the idea that it connects to another killers lore, another reason I enjoy Oni so much, but sadly I don't think we're ever gonna get a monster killer. As far as I understand, it'd be quite a bit to code and animate. Even Demo is still humanoid in shape.

Yeah, but imagine if they do make something like it, Demo would be in serious competition for my main

  • Two things, either one, an Assassin type killer. Not like Assassin's Creed, but an Assassin with a legacy, rumors. And yes, it would be a stealth killer.

Secondly, a medieval killer. A highly praised with, a strong, high legacy, and a very talanted one, similar to Kazan Yamaoka (The Oni).

Also, if Sci-Fi we're to be a thing, a Post-Apocalypse survivor, similar to Negan from TWD would be awesome, with a make shift DIY weapon.

  • Thick goth gf as a Survivor and a Voodoo Priest as a Killer. I have spoken.

  • Oni in samurai armor and not fat.

  • A girl who sets things on fire with the power of her mind. Kind of like Carrie. I just want to burn people. I'm sure you understand.

  • Considering the the entity and its world is a living thing, and the realms are "how you would think they are" something that would be really cool to see is...some sort of "Cancer", and independent being that lives of of the same environment the entity created. It doesn't harvest hope and fear because it was told to but because it too live of it. Maybe for the entity the cost is lower than the rewards and so it keep its there, Maybe the entity doesn't know it is there, or doesn't care that its there.

The desing is up to them, but it would definitively be a lot less mysterious than the entity itself. and the killer would be its herald, i'd like for it to affect the maps, like how adiris spawns those fountains, but instead the very walls and ceiling, ground and air would be corrupted, bulging and contracting, twisting and blinking. As the herald would be an "incarnation" of this "corruption", it would have pretty good movement. being able to materialize from the corruption maybe? or from those corrupted?

Something i'd like is, maybe have the survivors being able to get afflicted with it, making them not only more fragile but more agile, See better less often or more stealthy but louder. have it me inconsistent upside and down side. kinda like the Blight plants, maybe it came from them? maybe they came from it.

  • I want a beast Killer, a Werewolf would be amazing!

  • My killer choice has always either been an Extra Terrestrial creature, a rotting Zombie, or a Knight.

Survivor wise, some kind of Groundskeeper would be neat, god knows they always get screwed over in horror movies.

Also I know this is more about Original Killers/Survivors than Original Realms, but I wish they'd make a realm based on an old Graveyard or run down Carnival

  • A killer that broadcasts their kills, with a stalk(film) ability that increases when the survivors are aware of you and running away and gains tokens(views) as you progress. Possible perks would be Co-Host(involving the entity's help) and Special Guest(an obsession perk).

  • Man I just want a male survivor that's skinny, maybe a somewhat similar aesthetic to Jeff's. Look who am I kidding, I just want to see someone who looks like me in the game, it's so rare to actually see a male character in a game that isn't chubby, muscular, or average.

  • A pyromancer throwing fireballs.. anything with some cool special effects..
