I can corroborate this not being a one time occurrence.
If it helps solves anything, you return to normal upon picking someone up, but after you drop them, you regain the Haste. You also keep it if you re-enter the snowman without setting a Search path. Additionally, setting another Search path fixes the bug, unless you gain the Haste and enter the snowman again. Being stunned does not fix the issue either.

They made Cypress Mori basekit last mid-chapter.

As far as I'm aware, it's been soft confirmed that the Halloween license holders are some of the hardest to work with, alongside Hellraiser and Elm Street. Maybe we'll get something once in a blue moon if someone sacrifices an entire city's worth of baby goats under the solar eclipse on a Tuesday, but I wouldn't count on it.
-
Ah yes, vote for us for the Labor of Love after we have CONSISTENTLY cherry-picked the most BARE-MINIMUM things we can do to pretend we listen to community feedback. We DEFINITELY deserve it. Your feelings towards us are most certainly not at the ABSOLTUE LOWEST they've ever been.
I've tried, BHVR. I've tried giving you the benefit of the doubt for so long. But this past year has been too much. The new player experience is STILL awful, and gets worse every update. Most of the perks you release are awful. You're pumping out more content than you can handle by shoehorning Survivor only chapters into the mid-chapters where they aren't needed. You shut down an entire company that you bought before they even had a CHANCE to do anything. You have proven once again that you can't handle four Killers a year by releasing a Killer who's more bug than game. You've aggressively pushed micro-transactions and limited time outfits for years despite MANY people telling you how predatory they are. You had one of the best lead-ups to an original Killer that made the Unknown one of the best Killers in the game, then you proceeded to FIRE the team that did that for you. You completely nuked a Killer out of orbit because you couldn't figure out a way to fix her so people wouldn't give up immediately and chose to do the closest thing to deleting her you could legally do in hopes that people forget about her so you can rework her. And I could go on.
But honestly, none of that are what broke my trust in you. The straw that broke the camel's back was this:
There was literally ZERO reason to change the HUD for any reason other than pure greed. You gave it the same functionality of the store, being able to trial outfits and purchase them without ever having to leave the lobby. In exchange, you destroyed BASIC FUNCTIONALITY. Quickly changing cosmetics, quickly leveling multiple characters, quickly looking through inventories to find who has Streamers, etc. are no longer possible because you can't be bothered to add a BASIC QUICK SWITCH BUTTON. Or I guess, RE-ADD it because you took it out and instead focused on the literal BARE MINUMUM you could do to "fix" what you broke and make it four-per-row and a reasonable size. Finding cosmetics is still a pain because you have less shown now, and don't even get me started on the charms, which were always difficult to figure out and are now even worse.
Is this a petty reason to be ticked off? Yes. But this was genuinely what pushed me over the edge. Just about everyone was telling you how AWFUL this was (including myself), but all we got was a bare-minimum change with an explanation along the lines of "we can't go back." Why? What was it about Lara Croft that made it so you couldn't restore basic functionality? Why were these mutually exclusive?
And now you DARE ask us to nominate you for Labor of Love? How about doing something that shows you DESERVE it first. And then KEEP doing it for at least two years straight. I love this game and I want it to succeed, but you make it so difficult. I don't see a team that actually loves working on this game anymore, just good people being fed to a greedy megacorporation that dictates their every move.

If it was an OG survivor who happened to be given the likeness of a celebrity, permitted by them, technically a half-licenced, half-original survivor, would it really be any different than just calling them their IRL name? I'm not disagreeing with you, but Ash Williams was still voiced by and depicted as Bruce Campbell, a real life person.
Nancy and Steve would still be Natalia Dyar and Joe Keery, because while they don't have their voice, they still have their likeness. Nicolas Cage didn't have a significant role as a horror character, though he's been in plenty of horror movies, so I assume it would've been simple at the time to have Nicolas Cage come to the game as himself, but a fictional, more expressive version of him. And even if there happened to be controversy from the celebrities, BHVR could just remove them.
Again, I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just stating the facts. If it was something like an IRL politician or an IRL serial killer, then yeah, that's probably going a bit far.
I would consider it different, yes. The way I see it, Bruce is Ash but Ash is not Bruce.
I think my biggest issue with real people being in games like DBD is the fact that they are REAL. The characters they play can reasonably be separated from them, but what happens when the real person gets into some form of controversy, or something happens and they die? It just wouldn't feel right throwing them onto meat hooks, or sawing them in half with a chainsaw, or crushing their skull, or whatever other horrific acts can be applied to them, especially if it wasn't natural causes that sadly took them.
But maybe I'm just weird like that.
-
None of the above. Real people don't belong in games about brutally maiming, stabbing, torturing, and just all-around cruelty towards them. It's why, despite having 2 of my favorite perks, Nick Cage is my least favorite Survivor. It just feels in poor taste.
Characters that they play are fair game, even if they're wholly original creations where the selling point is the celebrity's likeness, but not the celebrity's themselves. Especially none that are deceased. That's just asking for controversy.

She's fun when she works, but that only happens about a quarter of the time.
Selecting targets for Seek is way too finicky and the Dog's hitbox in Chase is too narrow to really be effective. And this is without the bugs that always seem to plague the last chapter of the calendar year and could have done with another week or two of fixing before release.
Right now, it's still a bit early to call, but she's leaning a bit on the weaker end without some QoL fixes. Though I do (unlike most people it seems) believe she has potential, but then again, I don't really care about strength as opposed to fun.
-
You do realize what community you're talking about, right? Silent bully squads are bad enough, but can you imagine them shouting slurs at you as well?
There are other ways to improve communication, but this is as FAR from a good idea as physically possible.
-
Like others have said, it's a bug that takes a lot of set-up to pull off. Scummy and exploitative, but going by "Blight hug-tech" rules, not technically a cheat, so it being reportable is kind of up in the air.
-
I think for Killers, context is important. Wesker and Chucky are over-confident trash-talkers by nature (ESPECIALLY Chucky), Trickster was experimental in many ways, Unknown literally uses voice mimicry in its hunting strategy, I'm pretty sure Dracula is a talker (though I'm honestly not very familiar with Castlevania), Pinhead speaks so rarely that it's a nice little treat when he does, Houndmaster needs to speak in order to issue commands to Snug, and Vecna is an all-powerful Lich against a bunch of peasants. Really, the only Killer who (currently) bothers me with having voice lines is Singularity. I honestly think he would be a lot scarier if he was a silent, uncaring machine hunting you down as opposed to a glitchy, gene-obsessed pseudo-cyborg.
I've explained my issues with Survivors having voice lines in the past, but it basically boils down to the entire reason I mained Ash for a few years was the fact that he spoke in the lobby (that was literally the deal-breaker between him and Adam). He was fun and unique every time he showed up in the lobby. And now EVERYONE is getting voice lines, which also don't play for others in the lobby anymore (probably some priority issue they couldn't figure out with the RE cast), and are also kind of rare in my experience (mostly for the RE cast again), or don't make sense half the time (no Ripley, the creepy ghost girl you're about to go against is NOT using the vents), or are just bad (the majority of Sable's lines or Gabriel repeating the same three things over and over). And don't get me started on Nick Cage, Alan and Lara speaking IN the trials. It just kind of takes me out of it.
But that's also why I turned off subtitles, and it's honestly made the voice lines a LOT less distracting (though I now have no clue what the Lyras are saying in the extremely rare chance I'm playing one and run into the other and the voice line decides to play).
-
I never played My Little Oni, so I have no horse in that race.
Lights Out caused active physical pain from straining my eyes to the point it felt like someone was driving needles into my eyes for around five HOURS after stopping. After that, I only played one match of the Castlevania rendition to see if it was any better, and found it basically unchanged. Never playing any rendition of it again.
Maybe when more Killers come in, I'll change my tune, but right now there's only one Killer in the 2v8 roster I can actually play consistently (Wraith), and all of the others are either Trapper or my literal worst performing killers. That coupled with the absurd wait times and this is basically another skip for me. And then there's the license issue where a good chunk of Killers will likely NEVER be playable, and my interest wanes even more.
Chaos Shuffle is almost perfect. I already play very chaotic, useless builds, so that part never hindered me, and with everyone else on an even playing field, it felt like one of the fairest modes. The only changes I'd make is to further the randomness by mixing up items and add-ons as well.
-
Ah yes, the Killer who:
- Was a stealth Killer with a lullaby that gave away her position
- Loudly announced her presence when leaving Demanifestation without any way of catching up afterwards
- Had absolutely zero chase power
- Had one of the most excessive cooldowns on her mobility power that had fixed locations she could move to
- Had a secondary objective that was so non-threatening that most Survivors barely touched it
- Had only one good build popularized by a YouTuber that was so mind-numbing to go against it put old Skull Merchant to shame (and believe me, I was partially on the receiving end of this playstyle BY THE PERSON WHO CREATED IT, with the screenshot for proof. The only difference was he was testing Nowhere to Hide since Knight just came out, it was still the same playstyle and probably the worst Survivor match I have ever had, before or since).
Yeah, I remember how powerful she was. She was a laughing stock who had to utilize the most brainless, mind-numbing playstyle to be remotely usable. Her first rework was both much stronger and actually really unique compared to most other Killers. But Survivors refused to learn how she worked and the old players threw a fit that caused most of it to be reverted, leaving us with a Killer that is once again neither unique nor strong. I'm pretty sure the only reason I even get Condemn kills is because it's such a non-threat that people just forget to grab and return Tapes.

Swamp realm was made alongside autoheaven, mcmillan and farms. In game files and original artworks there is also mention of fourth killer that was connected to autoheaven.
Whole wraith design, his general look, and most importantly addons looks like connected to swamp, and more importatnly tribalism.
His addons suggests that Wraits was connected to some sort of magic, based on sketched symbols.
Bio and Tome lores of Wraith, and Hag are retconing some aspects, or feels unfitting to eachother, exactly as one could expect from non original peaces of history.
One may say its only pressumptions. But even so, it feels too coincidental.
Besides. There was a BHVR interview where they said that Swamp was Wraith realm, tho i cannot find it (or maybe my memory just plays with me).
But noone can say, that Wraith addons fits his lore, and do not fit Hags lore.Crotus Prenn was also made alongside those realms (even if placed in Coldwind at the time), Autohaven was again WAY further along than Backwater was (again, the boat itself was nearly complete, but the rest of the map was considerably unfinished), and Wraith's design does not look swamp-like to me. Tribal, yes, but not swamp. Though I digress that last part may just be personal taste.
And without seeing the game files and artworks you're talking about, I'm left without a reference for the entire beginning argument (and I really feel like the wiki would have made some kind of note about all of this with how thorough they are). But even if they're is supposedly a secret killer attached to Autohaven, isn't it possible that they simply didn't have a realm attached to the Killer at that point? Like, for example, Myers? I'm not finding anything about Haddonfield existing in the BETA, and while the game was still in super early access, the fact that so much has been found to begin with tells me that this was a deliberate choice, since Halloween came out before Of Flesh and Mud. Or Nurse, who had to have been pretty far in development to be released two months into the game's launch, but what would be her map was then located in Coldwind. Or the unreleased Teacher, who existed in the files and even had perks and add-ons show up for years.
Though you're not going to hear an argument from me about Wraith's power making no sense for his base lore, because he was always the odd one out until his archive. How a car crusher got his hands on a Bell that turns him invisible never really made sense. And yeah, I can see how, at least design-wise, they're more reflective of Hag's drawings. So I can start seeing where you're coming from with that point, even if I still feel Hag was still likely too early in prototyping for them to have been made for her.
-
Firstly, where are you coming up with the swamp being Wraith's original domain? And I'm asking for ACTUAL proof and not some "I heard from a friend of a friend's uncle who worked at BHVR". You're talking about a realm that came out THREE chapters after Wraith was nearly finalized IN THE BETA (literally just having sound issues), where Autohaven was ACTUALLY complete. Sure, the swamp was in development (and the Pale Rose boat was nearly completed), but it was always attached to Hag (given the fact the cannibal village was fully modeled and textured, and was always part of her lore), who at that stage was at most still in early conceptual prototypes. If you can prove this (with an actual developer statement), I'll concede this point.
Secondly, yeah, Wraith's lore has changed from when he released, and yeah it is mostly worse. Where he currently gets told directly that he's an executioner for Azarov's gang, he originally figured it out on his own. And instead of putting Azarov in a car crusher and yoinking his skull to use as a weapon, he instead bludgeoned him until his skull was broken into tiny fragments (which is honestly probably the reason that part got changed, since Azarov's Skull is clearly not shattered on his weapon). This isn't exactly new information, though I guess even the wiki stopped showing that, despite usually being so thorough, so people may not be aware of this.
Finally, why would Hag's lore be a repurposed version of Wraith? Even disregarding the fact that Autohaven (which even aesthetically matched Wraith quite well) was FAR more complete than the swamp that was clearly attached to a then unknown Killer, they are fundamentally different characters. Hag's lore has issues, but most of those came from her archive making the "remote village" aspect of her base lore confusing. Yes, Wraith's power was always a bit confusing before his archive revealed the bell was his father's from back in Nigeria (and even him being Nigerian to begin with, though his name was always a bit of a give away), but Hag's lore is fundamentally built into the lore you believe was originally meant for a character with an entirely different powerset. Not trying to be mean here, I would actually love to hear the explanation for this idea, but I just find it asinine without an explanation.

Considering how the Entity literally buffs even the physically weakest Killers (Pig, Legion, Trickster, etc.) to the point that they can grab someone like Jeff Johansen (who is, by my estimate without any concrete numbers, likely the heaviest based on his height and build), with one hand and sling them over their shoulder…
None of them. It's like the question of which Killers could beat the Entity, but it's somehow even MORE lopsided. Not even the genuinely overpowered ones (Soma, Alucard, Cheryl, etc.) can deal with that.
An even IF we assume they can acquire the means to fight back, as we see from the Archives, the Horror (who is a Killer described as the manifestation of sponsored war and is basically an amalgamation of various war machines), regenerated from being blown to pieces, and when Saku decapicated the Oni, he simply regrew his head. Try as they might, the Survivors aren't winning regardless of what they do.
-
If they're checking the nearby area and aren't leaving the gate, they most likely have Whispers (which I've only seen one person here consider), so sneaking away is honestly out of the question.
Best you could honestly do is wait for them to turn from the gate and search elsewhere and hope Wake Up is enough to get it open before they return.
-
It's kind of funny. Before his changes, it felt like EVERYONE wanted him to be a 115% Killer. Some because his power struggled in high loops, others because his ranged attack wasn't strong enough to compensate for his lack of mobility, and some because he straight up DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A SLOW CHARACTER.
However, once he became 115%, this suddenly "destroyed his character" and many people (or at least a vocal minority) have been clamoring .
Related to the actual proposal, I'd be fine with knocking how long Main Event builds up a tad, since it is a bit much, but I REALLY don't like this push towards reverting reworks because of a loud minority. It already happened with Sadako, and it took away an ACTUALLY unique Killer that required a different way to play against (and was actually one I enjoyed playing as during her short existence) and was ACTUALLY fairly strong that just needed some tweaks, and returned her to a boring M1 Killer with barely a power that is so non-threatening that Survivors literally don't even interact with it half the time.
I think Trickster is fine as is, other than tweaking Main Event a little bit.
-
A multitude of things, namely:
- An IP I grew up with, and is likely responsible for shaping a huge part of my personality now.
- My incessant desire to have unique, lore-accurate builds on all of my Survivors despite how bad 90% of these builds are leading to two of my three favorite perks winding up on them by chance.
- Sharing a voice actor (Robbie Daymond) with one of my favorite characters from my favorite game of all time, as well as a major character in my favorite SERIES of all time.
All of these combine to form the perfect character that is Baermar Uraz.
-
I don't mind any of the listed Killers (yes, even the OLD-Skull Merchant didn't bother me). The only Killer I will ever DC against (which admittedly requires going against them 3 times in one session, which has yet to happen), is the Accessibility Issue. Though I think most people call them Dredge. I'd rather not have to deal with a headache for the next three matches because Nightfall strained my eyes.
-
I love how EVERYONE has completely misinterpreted this question and just started listing various supervillains that could vaguely stretch to fit horror when your question was on BHVR creating an ORIGINAL chapter themed around superheroes.
So to add something that's actually on topic, we kind of got that with Skull Merchant, being obsessed with her father's manga that she started incorporating it into her actual life. Granted, it was done absolutely TERRIBLY, but it was something. An ACTUAL Killer (and potentially Survivor) that followed this idea is something that could definitely work if done right.

Even if Lara works PERFECTLY as a CHARACTER, she is still incredibly out of place and just shouldn't have been added.
This is an argument that I see so many people use and it never holds up because it crumbles into itself as soon as we look at the survivor roster. Most of the original survivors in the game have nothing horror related to their lore or character yet they still manage to find their place in the game because there is more themes to this game than horror.
And yet, by virtue of every original character being made for a HORROR IP (which DBD is, despite being more of a comedy at this point), they are HORROR characters. It doesn't matter what other themes their stories explore, the moment BHVR conceptualized them, they became horror characters.
I don't have an issue with Lara being here as a character. She fits in really nicely, maybe even better than some of the originals. The issue I have is with her IP. No matter how well she fits in, Lara is fundamentally NOT a horror character and just feels out of place because of it.
As an example because I've seen other people throw him out there, Wesker is kind of the opposite of Lara in a way. The version we got came from RE5, which is… really not a horror game by any means. But Resident Evil is a horror IP, and that makes Wesker and the rest of the RE cast horror characters, even as the series spent a few years drifting away from its roots. This is what makes him okay in my eyes but not Lara.
If the Survivor Timeline was the only version of Tomb Raider, I wouldn't have this opinion, because it would absolutely count as at least horror-adjacent. But it's not, and because of that Lara sticks out like a sore thumb in a cast of characters created for various horror IPs… and Nick Cage for some reason.

Tell me more about this 'Slappy-gorgon'…
Nothing special, it's literally just Demogorgon with a backpack build (Agi, Mad Grit, Iron Grasp, fourth perk is usually Lightborn for me), but every time you're carrying someone you just spam the attack. I don't know why Demo specifically makes me laugh when none of the other Killers do, but he does.
-
Horror Adjacent depends on how close. D&D for example REALLY tows the line between acceptable and not (since you can straight up make a horror campaign and there's even a horror setting with Ravenloft, but Vecna's more along the fantastical side of things, even if he's a rotting corpse held together by the souls he's stolen and placed in his phylactery), but something like Jurassic Park, which borders along a full-on Slasher series at times, or Terminator would fit depending on which film you're taking from.
Non-horror IPs straight up don't belong in a horror game. I don't care how much inspiration the Survivor timeline of Tomb Raider took from The Descent, the IP as a whole is an action-adventure with supernatural (NOT the same as horror) elements. Even if Lara works PERFECTLY as a CHARACTER, she is still incredibly out of place and just shouldn't have been added. Though I would much rather have these than real people.
-
So instead of three of my worse-performing Killers, a Killer that I'm only average at because the skill floor is rock bottom, and a Killer that I enjoy every now and then but not as the only viable option for me to take…
I get SIX of my worse-performing Killers, a Killer that I'm only average at because the skill floor is rock bottom, and a Killer that I enjoy every now and then but not as the only viable option for me to take.
So just like last time, there's really nothing for me here, and unless my friend decides to call me at 1 in the morning like he did last time, I'm probably just going to skip this one. Lobby simulator isn't exactly fun.
-
Discordance is an all-around very solid perk, and one of the best information perks in the game.
Iron Maiden is good for Huntress & Trickster to help their reload, but it's otherwise pretty bad.
Mad Grit is a meme perk. It's the most fun perk in this set, and I love playing Slappy-gorgon from time to time, but just about anything else would actually do better.
-
Hex: Haunted Ground has three scenarios that play out: No one cleanses your totem and it's a wasted perk slot; Your totem is cleansed but literally everyone is on the other end of the map from you and it's a wasted perk slot; Your totem is cleansed and it leads to the largest snowball effect in the universe and you win the game. There's literally no other scenarios.
Rancor is probably the most fun one, but by the time it activates, you've lost the game. Either that, or you end the game before you can use it and it's a wasted perk slot.
Spirit Fury is a really solid chase perk for Killers who can't really play around pallets. It kind of needs to be combined with Enduring to go anywhere, and once people see it once, they'll start pre-dropping, but it's still solid.
-
Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick went from being a fairly solid perk to counter sabotage, to a niche perk that nobody used, to an even more niche perk that even less people use in a massive nerf disguised as a "buff". Easily one of the worst Killer perks.
Make Your Choice is fairly solid on high-mobility Killers who can take advantage of both knowing WHO the unhooker was, and the actual Exposed effect. It kind of looses effectiveness when multiple people are playing the same Survivor though.
Surveillance is good when you have Ruin and basically no other time. It's also completely incompatible with other gen perks that make gens yellow (Trail of Torment, Eruption, Call of Brine, etc.), all of which are better than it anyway.
-
Blood Warden isn't a good perk. At all. However, the very existence of the perk serves as an active threat that has to be anticipated, even though you'll probably only ever see it once every 400 games. I can only think of a few other perks that have this kind of effect, and that's why I'm placing it on top, even if I think Freddy's other (still very bad) perks are a bit more useful.
Fire Up can come in clutch at times, but by that point you've already lost the game.
Remember Me is probably Freddy's actual best perk, but its effect still isn't very good, especially when No Way Out does the same thing but MUCH better. And no one is forced to act in a way to prevent it like they do Blood Warden.
-
Monitor & Abuse is nice on Killers who already have a smaller Terror Radius, and can get some hits in that would be a bit harder otherwise, but it's a bit of a niche perk.
Overcharge is underrated. It's not as good as it was during the gen-kick meta, but I'd say it's useful in more cases than Monitor.
Overwhelming Presence is the worst perk in a group of bad perks.
-
Devour Hope is my favorite Killer perk, and I so badly wish Hexes were more consistent, because I want to run this perk more. It's probably the strongest one.
Ruin's pretty underrated nowadays, since I feel it's also pretty good. Not as good as it used to be, but having passive gen regression while you're applying pressure in other ways is nothing to scoff at.
The Third Seal is… okay. Completely overshadowed by other Hex perks, but I think Blindness is fairly underrated because most sources are so limited. Imagine a scenario where multiple people are on the hook because NO ONE can figure out where anyone is. Regretfully, I've been in that exact scenario. Far weaker than Hag's other perks, but still pretty underrated.
-
Mine's got a history. It started off as Doctor, since he was my favorite Killer when I started (actually, I liked him even before I started playing due to someone I was watching at the time, so he was always kind of planned to be my main), and he's still my most played despite me technically moving on to Xeno & Vecna as mains.
There was a point where I made a bet regarding the upcoming Killer (Blight) and lost, so I was forced to become Hillbilly for a month. And then I had to do it for another week because the person I made the bet with JUST SO HAPPENED to get banned for the EXACT month I was Hillbilly.
Sometime between the two, I switched to Oni because there was a running joke with my high school chemistry teacher, who saw me drawing DBD's characters and wanted me to draw him. His last named JUST SO HAPPENED to be pronounced the same as Oni (Oney), who would release the year after I left his class, but my locker was still right next to his room, so I was able to show him… "him".
Then, right after Wesker's release, I took a break because the forums were genuinely affecting my mental health (though, if I'm honest, I think that break made things worse), and one day when I was just checking how things were, I saw that a whole bunch of new profiles got added, including the character that, even though I think he's an incredibly shallow character with very little going on, I found the most relatable, to the point that I've referred to him as my spirit animal: Renato Lyra.
And that's where we are now.
-
I've honestly never seen anyone call Wesker the 3rd strongest. He's strong, absolutely A-Tier in the right hands, but I wouldn't put him above characters like Hillbilly or Plague.
Meanwhile, a good Spirit is incredibly powerful, even if she's not Nurse or Blight levels of overpowered. Unless you're me and can't play Spirit to save your life, no one would put her below A-tier, while Wesker will fluctuate between A and B.
-
Huntress Lullaby is one of the weaker Hexes, but I have witnessed it single-handedly destroy uncoordinated teams, so that's something.
Beast of Prey can make it harder for Survivors to tell where you're aiming with mid-range Killers like Xeno & Nemmy, but they can also… you know… use their eyes. Just because I'M terrible at looking behind me doesn't mean others aren't.
Territorial Imperative exists. It's terrible in just about every that matters, and doesn't even work in the Basement builds that it would be most logical in because of the range requirement. Only use it on high mobility Killers if you have LITERALLY nothing else to run.
-
Dying Light literally buffs the Obsession, and completely stops working if they're dead. Below average in conjunction with Michael's other perks, borderline useless without them.
I find Play With Your Food to be too easy to lose stacks with to be any good. Sometimes I'll use it on Wraith or combine it with Hag's Waterlogged Shoe and other Haste perks, but at that point, I'm not playing to win.
Save the Best for Last got absolutely gutted to the point that I don't think it's worth running on most Killers, but it's still nice on exclusively M1 Killers who don't really have other means of building pressure.
-
Some of these changes are cool. Teamwork perks being slightly above F-Tier is a nice bonus. The mori update being a free Cypress is nice (though I feel the moris should still be more than bloodpoints), Corrective Action might actually be a threat now, and that Predator change actually makes it useable, along with a whole bunch of other niche perks getting adjusted.
On the flip side, some of these are just… bad. Like, why are we nerfing Blood Rush & Lucky Star? I have literally never seen anyone other than me use these perks. Dead Man's Switch got gutted. Unknown is literally the only Killer getting buffed, and of course the Skull Merchant changes.
I'm a bit conflicted. On one hand, I'm one of those people that actually liked old Skull Merchant, since no one could protect Totems anywhere NEAR as well as she could. And I actually enjoyed the two games I played as her (Chaos Shuffle & Anniversary) since her rework. So seeing her get absolutely gutted is frustrating, disheartening, and just feels awful all around.
On the other hand. it's making Pixel Bush through a hissy fit about it, and anything that ticks him off is a win in my book.
This one's a mixed bag, but I'd say it's mostly negative.
-
A Nurse's Calling is just one of the most underrated Killer perks in general. And even then, I don't think anyone calls it bad, just that they'd rather run 500 slowdowns instead.
With Predator getting revamped, Stridor is the new No Mither of Killer perks, where the difference in audio you over by making you think Survivors are closer than they actually are.
Thanatophobia is one of the worst slowdown perks in the game. The only thing keeping it from the bottom is that it DOESN'T BUFF A SURVIVOR like Dying Light does.
-
Enduring's pretty nasty on Killers who can make up that time, and has gotten me a few hits from Survivors ending up on my side, but unless it's a really short loop, you've still got a pallet to deal with.
Lightborn is fun to screw around with when you've got a team of clickers, blasters, and bangers, but it does literally nothing if no one brings any of those things.
Tinkerer is one of those perks that is so good that it's kind of something you have to keep in mind at all times. Especially on high speed Killers or Killers who can move fairly quietly

Bloodhound makes tracking through blood actually possible (I'm not colorblind, just oblivious), but there's better ways to track.
Predator's great… if you're like me and can't track audio and are playing Spirit for some reason. This perk is basically the Killer equivalent of No Mither, putting the game on hard mode.
Shadowborn makes catching up after a blind much easier, and with how debilitating a blind can be, I'm putting it slightly above Bloodhound. None of them are even remotely good, so the bar's not too high.
EDIT: Of course, BHVR goes and announces they're making Predator an actually good perk THE DAY after I place it as Wraith's worst and call it the No Mither of Killer perks…

Agitation is great in specific builds (Scourge, Basement, Starstruck, Backpack, etc.), but outside of those builds, it's fine, but niche.
Brutal Strength is great on Killers who struggle around Pallets or don't have time to waste kicking gens. More generally useful than Agitation, which is why I gave my vote to it, but the two are fairly close.
Unnerving Presence either ruins noobs or does practically nothing against people who can actually play. It's fun on Skill Check Doctor though, so that's something.

Where do we start?
- Lore that reads like a 14-year-old wrote it (and that's being generous) that manages to both conflict with previously established lore (though I honestly don't think Sable not being mentioned in Mikaela's lore is a big deal like some people) AND paints her as an incredibly shallow human being. There was so much potential with a character who willingly entered the Realms and only realized her mistake after realizing what she ACTUALLY got herself into, but this wasn't it.
- Her design is clearly based around "hot goth chick" rather than anything meaningful (I'm not saying that's bad, in fact I actually really like her base design, but it is a very shallow reason to create a character). She wasn't made to be a cool character. She was made to appeal to horny teens and basement trolls.
- She's gotten two store skins (one of which is basically nude, but for some reason is okay because it's a swimsuit), a rift skin with a Deep Rift variant and is practically guaranteed to win one of the Design Contest slots (most of which were very erotic in design) in the 6 months since her release. That's 4 skins. For reference, Haddie has received 7 skins, 1 Deep Rift Variant, and 3 shirts TOTAL in the 2 YEARS, 3 MONTHS since her release.
- You can't escape her. She's in nearly every lobby these days. People want to see other Survivors, not a 4-man group of nearly naked goth chicks, but that's all they get.
- If you try using her main draw perk (Weaving Spiders), there's probably a 85% chance that your team is going to kill you for throwing. And her other perks really aren't anything to write home about.
- A personal one for me, she has quite possibly the most IRRITATING screams in the game. I mean, maybe this is just an extension of me slowly getting more and more overwhelmed by sounds that never used to bother me to the point that I can barely function in settings that I used to enjoy that's been happening for the past year or so, but I can't stand her voice.
I'm sure there's more reasons, but these are the ones that come to mind for me. Whether I think they're valid or not (which I think 1, 2 & 6 are), people dislike her for a lot of things. I wouldn't let that discourage you though. If you like a character that I personally see as a waste of potential cash cow, then all the power to you. No one likes all of the same things and that's what makes us individuals.
She is a complete waste of potential though.

I think I'm one of the only people that actually likes Toba Landing. Aesthetically, the map is beautiful, and gameplay wise, I always felt it was fairly balanced. I wish they kept some of the foliage from the PTB, but that's really my only gripe with it.

Artist - I love ravens, and crows are close cousins. But trying to play Artist just feels so clunky that I just don't want to bother.
Huntress - The first Killer I ever played back in 2018, and now I can't hit the broad side of a barn.
Blight - I used to like this Killer. And then I took a small break, and when I came back to him, everything changed. As someone who vehemently REFUSED to learn
a blatant exploithug tech, the inconsistency of when I would bump and when I would suddenly start sliding made any time I played him the most miserable match possible. And no, the collision changes DID NOT help, he is still a clunky, slidey mess that somehow managed to overthrow Singularity as my least favorite Killer. -
Chaos Shuffle was fun, but I already run non-standard builds a lot, so it's not that big of a deal to me.
Dredge's Nightfall causes ACTUAL PHYSICAL PAIN in my eyes (it's the only Killer I've given myself the all clear to DC if I run into a third in one session, thankfully no one plays it). Lights Out is just Nightfall ALL THE TIME. Needless to say, I have some choice words to describe how I feel about this modifier.

Based on my (admittedly, quite limited) knowledge of Castlevania, he really couldn't. Alucard is very much a hero in his story, placing an incredible value on human life, and making him a Killer would be incredibly disrespectful to the lore of his series.
Granted, him being a Survivor is also a bit… weird, but it can be explained away with a very simple explanation: BHVR and Konami knew he would be popular.

Speaking as someone who values how fun a Killer is over how strong they are (with most of my favorites being considered low-B or lower and REALLY hating most of the high tiers like Nurse, Blight or Spirit), I like him. I don't think he'll perform well in higher ranks, and there are definitely some tweaks I'd make (mostly to Wolf Form, since it is really lacking in just about every way that matters), but he feels fun at the moment.
I've gotten some pretty nasty hits with his Hellfire, since it can go over some deceptively high obstacles, and I've found some good success with the Bat form teleport, especially on maps with multiple floors, so really it is just the Wolf form that feels incredibly underwhelming to me. The lunge is a bit wonky at times (I've literally come into contact with a Survivor with BOTH lunges and failed to hit him), and Scent Orbs just don't spawn that frequently, and the Haste you get when they do is barely noticeable. It should really only be used if a Survivor is going in a straight line, and at that point just stay in Vampire form.

None. Real people DON'T BELONG in games where you brutally murder people in horrific ways.
Characters that they play, sure whatever. I'd prefer to keep them horror-adjacent AT LEAST, but fine. The people themselves, absolutely not.

Witnessed the same thing happen to a Leon-bot I saw get stuck on a window for a while. No matter what I did, I just couldn't pick him up. I had previously hooked him (before he DC'd and became a bot), but couldn't this time for some reason.
Though, in that same match I also witnessed a generator blowing ITSELF up, so I think that match might have just been cursed.

Vecna is the only Killer that the Entity has placed an actual seal on in order to contain. The only reason he's even here is to study the Entity and learn how to harness its power for himself. Since he's still only an archlich and not the literal god of death, it's still a bit questionable if he COULD, but he's definitely the closest.
Pinhead's powerful, but I'm pretty sure he's not a cosmic level powerhouse even with the Leviathan, and that's assuming the Leviathan can even reach Pinhead in the Realms, which is highly doubtful.
There is nothing any of the Stranger Things cast could do against the Entity to even get its attention. They get beaten by normal teenagers with only a moderate amount of effort, a cosmic nightmare is nothing for them.
Most of what people claim as fact about the Dredge is little more than speculation. All we know about it is that it is a manifestation of negative emotions that formed when Otto Stamper caused his cult to spiral into hatred and violence. That's it. There's nothing to imply that it even CAN get stronger than it currently is.
Every time people say Sadako is a being that could actually threaten the Entity, I go a little more insane. In the novels, Sadako is ridiculously powerful, and if that was who we were talking about here, then maybe. But, despite popular belief, I can PROVE our Sadako comes from the MOVIE rendition with a SINGLE WORD. Yoichi. He doesn't exist in the novels (and neither does Reiko, whose watch is one of Sadako's add-ons). Movie Sadako is NOWHERE NEAR the power of the Entity.

If you don't know how to handle turrets and the Survivors actually know how to use them, yes. If either of those are not true (and in my experience Survivors REALLY struggle with proper turret placement), Xeno's pretty strong.
It just so happens that most people also don't know how to play around turrets, they have a very low POV that's partially blocked by their tail (which I know is the reason one of my friends doesn't play them), and missing with the tail can feel quite punishing. All of this combined with how they fixed a bug that affected one of the changes they made… THEN REVERTED THE CHANGE BEFORE ANYONE COULD TEST IT… are probable causes for why basically no one plays Xeno anymore (okay, that last one was likely just me venting about a stupid decision, but I digress).
Oh, and a lot of people find Xeno boring due to how similar they play to other Killers.

Certainly wasn't on my bingo card yet (was going to give the announcement until March, but this works too).
But now I get to watch from the sidelines as a certain few individuals (not listing names for obvious reasons) throw hissy fits for one reason or another, so that's fun.
