Since no one is really answering your question... Here's what worked for me every time I did it during BP events or when there are a crap ton of BP offerings:
- First I slap at a couple of pallets until one survivor comes, and give them points first.
- Then after a few pallets, I swing at a hook and nod. Then I down the survivor if they "agree" (by standing still and letting me down them).
- Once I have that survivor hooked, I give other survivors the message by whiffing at the hooked survivor and nodding, then downing them again for the second time.
- After the first two survivors, it becomes obvious to the other two judging by the auras and constant downs.
- After I hooked everyone I could twice, I let someone follow me and get pallet stuns or just afk until the match is over. I also down and carry the last survivor to give them the hatch.
It helps to put a generous offering in yourself. You can keep doing Step 1 to someone else since sometimes just the first survivor you find may be apprehensive to farming or trusting you.
It's not only about communicating the message, it's also about persuasion.

I mean I can understand the instant-heal part. However, if you are self-caring under Coulrophobia do you really deserve to be able to heal? @Peanits
Yes, of course. What kind of question is that?
Or are you suggesting that high TR killers should completely prevent healing just by standing near the center of certain maps?

You use your perks to accomodate for things you can't otherwise handle. If you get genrushed hard, run Pop or Ruin. Not everyone has to though.
There needs to be better perks for it though.
PGTW's change was honestly really awesome that puts it above Ruin in many cases.
But Thrilling Tremors, Overcharge, and Corrupt Intervention are all still pretty underwhelming gen-stopper perks.
-
Bing bong is funny BM though. I enjoy it.
-
You're not the only one. I only do my Killer dailies after Rank reset.
Otherwise, I'm just asking for depips trying to play Huntress or Trapper in anything higher than yellows, lol.

The thing with Ruin and BBQ is that there are a good amount of counterplay/weaknesses to them. Borrowed time counterplay is just to take down the rescuer as quick as possible or wait out the 15 seconds to down the unhooked survivor. Either way, a survivor should have a feeling of caution when going for an unhook. Borrowed time essentially gets rid of any caution for almost all unhooks they do in the killer's face. There just needs to be a limitation on BT to allow for a proper counterplay.
Punishing the rescuer, muting your TR, walking away from the hook, or waiting 15 seconds are all examples of counterplay to BT. A large portion of the Killer roster has built in counterplay to BT in their powers (Pig, Myers, Billy, Bubba, Wraith, GF, etc.).
That's a lot of counterplay and far more than BBQC or Ruin, so I don't see your reasoning here.
If you know to wait before swinging to bait Dead Hard, you should know to wait fifteen seconds before tunneling the unhooked survivor to exhaust BT. It sounds like less of a perk issue and more about lack of skill.
-
If you lived, then yeah, why not black pip?
If you died, then I don't think you should safety for just hanging on a hook.
If it's a pattern, you and your team should change up your perks.
-
If I have no plans, I play Killer on the weekends. Otherwise, I play with friends that want to play on weekdays.
So maybe 3-4 days a week? Still a lot, I guess.
-
+1
Legion is their most disappointing rework. After Freddy's rework, Legion will be the most underwhelming and disappointing killer.
-
No one in their right mind would say that the sheer invisibility granted by some of Claudette's outfits is fair. Even now, they provide a huge advantage over other survivors' options.
That said, I think BHVR is right to change things within reason, especially for balance. It is silly to demand a refund each and every time this happens.
They certainly have a lot of room to be consumer friendly, but this is not one of the ways.
-
Relax, it's probably just another bug.
Thanks for recording, OP. I approve of posts that are more than just whining without evidence.
-
I'm sold.
Given that the franchise has already started pairing with other games, I think a collaboration with DBD is completely within reason.
-
Perhaps the pip rewards should be adjusted toward the average rank of players, and maybe a hidden team rating.
Yes, you should be rewarded for winning against a higher rank survivor team, and you shouldn't be chastised so badly for losing.
But on the flip side, you should not be equally rewarded for winning against a lower rank survivor team, and be punished more harshly for losing.
-
I agree to an extent, but the devs have never indicated that they are against lobby dodging.

Why would killers want to play a killer that is literally a bunch of survivors with knives.
I like their design.
I'd totally play Nea as a killer. Hence why Susie is my favorite.
Running fast is fun too. Vroom vroom. But right now, it's more like a huff puff.

Congratz!
Rank 1 is super tedious to get to right now, as a survivor it means playing super selfish if you're solo, and for killer once you hit rank 3 its just a grind as even some 3/4Ks can mean you only safety or even sometimes depip.
Seriously. The devs really meant it when they made Red Ranks hard.
Oof, that 3k/4k comment hits home. I stopped trying to climb after my third black pip in a row. :P
-
Ugh, the basement is worse. I don't even bother attacking survivors in there. It's pointless.
-
This is the Game right?
The lighting is hella broken.
-
Grats, I haven't gotten Rank 1 on either since the emblem change. It's so tedious!
Good on you.

I’m pretty sure most of us play both roles so, why complain about getting more bp?
I'm pretty sure the only people who are complaining are the ones who don't.

@thrawn3054 said:
Killer is already fairly easy to get decent blood points. In most games I average 20k. Add on bbq and I'm up to 40. I'd have to play extremely well to equal that as a survivor. Also added bp is good for everyone. Lessened grind, quicker lobbies, and more enjoyment overall.
To the OP's original point, I do feel killers are a bit over taxed to get good addons. My suggestion is to make it so a killer can keep addons based on performance. Either through pips or kills. 1 pip you keep your cheaper of the two addons. Two pips you keep both. With the kill version a 3k you keep the cheaper addon. With a 4k you keep both.
That wouldn't work since the rarer add-ons make it easier to get more kills in themselves. Against any team that isn't complete potato, your rarest add-ons would be virtually permanent.

He's already well established his bias. It is in almost all of his comments on this forum.
It's pretty telling to claim there's evidence for something and push the burden of proof onto someone else. Why even bother when you're not contributing?
Also, for the OP, since apparently Peanits' first post wasn't enough: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/538121#Comment_538121
And Steam data right now:
How close is that to a 1:4 ratio? You can wind up a survivor queue on your own too. Time how fast it is to get into and start a lobby as survivor vs killer.

Did we just call the most overused mon in OU by a 20 point margin a "perfect example of fun and balanced"?

@NMCKE Yes, chests have been effected by luck since whenever the whole gift box event thing in the blood web was finished (I think that was the Christmas event?) So about half a year now.
I don't remember exactly, but I believe luck effecting chests was part of the event, or there was some sort of change to chests during the event, but people liked it so much that it became a permanent feature, albeit tweaked a bit from how it was in the event.
You misheard. They increased rarity of items available, allowing survivors to obtain ultra rare items in chests (Skeleton Key, Rainbow Map) even after the event was over.
Luck offerings or perks themselves do not influence chests. They confirmed this recently (within 2 months or so).
edit: Damn, I really can't find it. The summaries are done by different people, so it's hard to track them down. I know for a fact that Horvath said it in one of the streams.

I'm playing it too in the UK! I have to admit it is way better than I was expecting, I love it. Some changes too. Killers and Survivors are leveled up by playing, not via bloodweb and there are images on the loading screens.

It used to never effect chests (or effected them so little that there was no real difference). They changed it however after an event. Luck now effects chests, increasing rare item yield from chests, and certain luck thresholds will make it impossible to get items of poorer quality.
Where is the evidence of this?
There is nothing about that in the patch notes, nor have I heard that in any dev stream.
-
Wow, you'd be boo'd off the stage for suggesting that about BBQC and Ruin, which are much more dominant.
I don't agree with nerfing BT. It is easy to counter and predict as it is.
Mixed opinion on Adrenailne. It's a powerful perk, but it's quite unreliable outside of an organized SWF. I think decreasing the movement speed is fine. I'd also settle for removing the effect while hooked.
-
A lot of these are blatantly OP, but I liked many of your ideas.
BoP: BoP would need a tell. Like a sound cue, similar to the Pig's. Otherwise it'd be virtually uncounterable.
DL: The debuff should not apply to actions like vaulting or dropping pallets and the perk should be disabled if any survivor dies, otherwise it'd be too much. It's also an obsession perk, so I think it's fair for hooking the obsession to reward 2 tokens.
TT: Imagine PGTW on all gens? Hahaha. That example aside, I think that'd be a cool change.
-
Sweet.

That doesn't really fix the issue that it would still be easier to get post trial multipliers with killer than survivor.
They can add more ways as they see fit. Maybe they can add/adjust stacks for based on number of survivors escaped.

I'm not sure if that's a great idea. Getting saves and hooking survivors are already built in mechanics to the game that players are expected to complete. Just to give them a massive BP boost (even bigger than the BP boosts given now) regardless of whether or not they sacrificed a perk slot for it would make BP grinding a bit too easy.
I see your reasoning, but I'd like it in perspective.
If you don't me asking, do you play with friends or alone? And at what rank?

I think the way you GET tokens right now is fine. I think what you DO with them needs to be buffed.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/565014#Comment_565014
If this were to happen (BBQ getting a nerf and WGLF getting a buff), I think that another perk should come later to take BBQ's spot. All assuming that this is what you're implying.
I am suggesting that every survivor gets +25% bonus BP for safe-rescuing or taking hits for other survivors up to 100%, and every killer gets +25% bonus BP for every fresh hook up to 100%. Less pressure to reduce the BP grind for new players, and bonus BP isn't gated behind purchase of Leatherface for killers.
BBQC's aura reading gets buffed in some way or another effect added, while WGLF is free to be its own perk, just like the exhaustion recovery iteration you suggested.

well, there's a lot of broken things in this games. Iri heads, prayer beads, instaheals, moris...
Eventually, they should all be changed to be more engaging to play with and against.
None of those things add to the game for the better when in excess. Just like old DS, MoM, BNP, etc.

If you need a tutorial on how to purchase Killers for free, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMwmR92lpxQ
Again, your topic is about BP gains, but I'm done talking with you if you have nothing more to say about the subject.
-
Pipe dream, but I think BBQC and WGLF BP bonuses should be passive and both perks adjusted to be viable.
BBQC is a near mandatory DLC payment and WGLF is a handicap. Buffing WGLF would solve WGLF's problem, but not BBQC's.

Also remember it will take a long time for all these Ghostfaces to run out of their 100+ Gateaux compared to your survivor's 5+ gateaux.
Probably as long as it is taking for them to fix survivor's gateaux spawns, lmao.
I don't get why you insinuate a bias against killers when you bring up an example of bias against survivors in the same post.

why...what..
i don't understand why you felt compelled to make this thread. this doesn't impact killers at all. if anything, it'll make your queues better because more people won't feel like they need to play killer for bloodpoints and will play survivor instead
is other people benefiting from a change really so bad?
Because many Killers mains on this forum think it is a zero sum game that needs to favor "their side", even with the most reasonable and harmless changes.
Think about it. It is so cringy when people mention the "PoWeR roLe" because they take their fantasy way too seriously. You aren't automatically better than another person just because you clicked one thing over the other. Each role has its grievances.

Can you tell me why something is free must be equal to something that needs money?
Because the game would be pay to win, hello?
Two of the best Killers in the game are free. Money is irrelevant and has nothing to do with how strong a killer, survivor, or perk is. Otherwise, DBD would be pay to win garbage, and it isn't.
I am surprised that I have to explain this to you. Do you play the same game?
-
It's only strong against beginners. Experienced players can and do breeze through it.
Hex:Ruin is only the top choice because all other generator perks aren't great or don't fully accomplish the same thing.
-
I'd like more varied animations for sure. It will add more character to our favorite killers.
I think varied attack hits would be nice too. Maybe like a separate animation for low/high angled attacks or attacks through vaults.
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
If bloodpoints are more evenly distributed, where is the motivation for playing the more difficult, more stressful role of killer?
Without killers the game is dead.
Because Killer is more fun, duh.
We have more than enough killers, myself included. When we don't, then you can talk.
-
I have my sound up pretty loud and with the footsteps fixed, I can hear Spirit's steps while she's phasing, so gen and totem grabs are honestly out of the picture for seasoned players.
Does she deserve a free hit? That I dunno.
But one should consider that Prayer Beads is her real Ultra Rare item (so maybe Father's Glasses and Beads should swap rarities), which deserve the huge advantage. I don't find them any more ridiculous than Iridescent Hatchets or Judith's Tombstone.

Fun you chose this photo because what i see is 3 perks that killer don't have to buy and lvl the killer and zero buy perk for survivors
It's your own source. Your thread is about BP gain, in case you didn't remember.
BBQC is the second top perk, in spite of being paid. WGLF does not even appear on the list, despite being free.
Or are you just trying to find something else to complain about?

BBQ cost you 5 $ and you have to lvl the killer that you may never play. WGLF is free and you may have it as the main skin as survivor
$5 didn't stop anyone, did it?
