First I don't need you to tell me to go watch ppl thank you very much. I'm a decent killer main and I don't really need your advice. If did I would ask for it thank you. I watch Otz on a daily basis and have learned from him plenty. I'm also not saying that MfT makes everyone a god looper but what I am saying it makes decent loopers even better and makes those games feel so much worst than before. Especially when its 4 decent survivors running the perk in the same lobby. I tell you right now I'm happy where I am skill-wise as the killer and Im, not someone who likes sweating in games. I play this game for fun, not for a job.

As for lower-tier killer buffs, wanting is fine but realize the reality of the situation dbd and its devs are in. Just saying "Hey buff lower-tier killers" isnt going to make this team do it. They have shown no interest in doing so and they have pretty much made that clear when they say that they are happy where Trapper is and where Myers is. They think these killers are fine and don't need any changes. No amount of pledging isn't going to change their mindsets on these killers. Even if they did start buffing low-tier killers their time restraints really don't allow for it either. It takes them years to do any type of rework(again look at the promised Twins rework). The best you can expect is base kit changes but those types of changes won't do anything because those also buff A and S tier killers. Low-tier killer buffs can only happen if the devs work on each of the killers separately which will take a lot of time and resources, time and resources that the devs rather spend on making new killers since that's where the money is. Buff Trapper from a business pov does nothing for the game since he is a base game killer for example.

At the end of the day, I'm just being realistic and recognizing what this dev team is willing and not willing to do. Changing a perk is much easier and time effective than changing maps, rebalancing killers and etc. You can continue to live in your fantasy world of dbd where the devs will keep this perk where it is forever and just buff low-tier killers but here, in reality, I know what's going to happen, MfT will be nerfed at some point and low-tier killers will never be buff to the point where they are at Wesker or blight levels. When MfT will be nerf/change I have no clue, it could be in the next mid-chapter or it could be later this year when they do a meta shack-up patch but there is no doubt in my mind that MfT will not be touched at some point.

Don't listen to others that are either trolling or don't play against high mmr. it's almost as if maps have perfect balance already. No god pallets and strong tiles linkable already. Nevermind nutty gen speeds with poor slowdown perks for killer. The healing nerf is plain negated by a strong organised team. Then more insult to injury with MFT.

Just imagine right if when you miss a survivor with a hit you get a speed boost. I wonder how fair that would feel to them then.

This isn't really an us vs them thing for me as I do play both sides. I never really used DH as I found it unfair as killer and I won't use MFT either.

  • MFT is so weak and fine its meta.

Non issue going against bad players though.

News flash. SWF with coms dont even need to be good loopers to win.

Its so balanced already against Swf what a great idea this perk was.

Bully squads where more fun than this gen rush meta rubbish.

SM has really messed up the games direction IMO.

    My 2 cents.

  • End of the day all you get is bp bonus. Its not a rank.

Gets reset every month. I know its a target to go for but I wouldn't get hung up on it. I used to though.

  • @ElodieSimp said:

It most likely will, when? Who knows.

Average or below average killer players are having a tough time with it so I don't think it will take them long to nerf it. I think they want to metrics to line up first.

It's not a skill issue dude. A good swf can give a low tier killer a bad time anyway. A good team stacked with made for this is ludicrous.

  • Well the dead hard nerf last sooooo long they thought it would be alright to make a pay to win perk.

    Disgusting!

  • @H2H said:

It is objectively unfair, it gives survivors a huge advantage, and the devs continue to balance the game as though it doesn’t exist.

Hit the nail on the head. It's getting tiresome.

  • @CatnipLove said:

Wait, the game was balanced and only when MFT was introduced did it turn into a nightmarish hellscape? You must be really new to the game.

No never has been and never will be because of so many random elements. That doesn't mean somethings don't heavily tip the scales.

It was teetering on the edge of stupid against a good swf before made for this even came out.

I have seen an increase in cheaters again too. Speed boosters and extreme boil over.

    Games in a sad state.

Never thought I would miss bully squads. Now it's just gen rush with poor defence.

I play soloq and it's rare people seem to even know what they are doing.

  • It should be a game mode with bonus bp. I got satisfaction from making the best of the killer perks I got even if I didn't win.

If they had random perks too it might have been another story.

  • Any idea what triggers the exposed for killer or other power for survivor?

Windows/pallets I get but the exposed etc seems random or do you just need 2 charges for that?

I’ve not seen it from the devs but I assume it’s like any past anniversary offering and will never expire. I’d suggest hoarding them.

I did hope this to be the case but I rarely see them offered in normal play. What is with people just collecting them and not using them. Makes no sense to me.

  • I read somewhere if the gates open or hatch and you have one you get a cosmetic reward. I'm confused what getting more than one does though.

So the cakes are useless after event ends or only usable on anniversary?

I'm trying to avoid unlocking them as I have too many already that's why I ask.

  • Gen speed is just plain silly now. Anyone who argues otherwise is a survivor only player period.

If I run deja vu and prove thyself and a couple join the killer doesn't have time to even reach the gen most of the time let alone defend it.

No the game isn't over when 2 gens pop against a bad team. Against a good swf though it's just laughable.

  • I don't know if the floating dancers have anything to do with it but a killer exposed me with one too. The reason I think they might have something to do with it is the option isn't always available when I'm killer.

Do survivors get a speed boost around them or some other crazy boost? Why the mystery?

On my controller Right stick click does it.

  • I had super quick players last night with no speed perks. I guess the hackers think they have some cover now because of MFT.

Maybe events bring more of them out because it's not been a massive problem lately but last night was bad.

  • If 2 DC early then I can understand it and go along with it. People can de-pip otherwise which isn't fair.

In general outside of a silly match with a ghost face where we all lined up t- bagging to the terror radius it's boring as hell.

Not only that I think it's slower getting bp this way.

  • I see people moving very fast without the perks to add speed. Hackers come out especially for events?

If this is part of the powers then wow you dev''s wanna drive us nuts. I will try survivor tomorrow.

    in Eh Comment by VirtuaTyKing
  • Why they do this to make real subtle cheaters impossible to spot?

I haven't used the perk or gone against it yet but the videos I have seen look disgusting.

The game already has pallet into pallet into god pallet. I mean seriously.

I have played majority of killers and it will hurt the weaker ones more. Well thought out then!

Oh I might try deja vu with resilience and prove thyself to see how much of a joke that will be too.

Are they that desperate for money they have to release pay to win or grind content.

  • I use it myself a lot of the time. I gotta say though it's making the best option for killer to create dead zones to counter it.

This playstyle gets pretty boring as it ends up being a long draw out match.

Along with having to run 4 gen perks because they are so weak. Also gets boring.

A fair solution would be... no idea.

  • Play killer on dead dawg against a multi head on swf. I think I won the match eventually but it was kind of a joke. Hard to avoid it on the main building.

It's sounds a good idea but it's too strong of a buff IMO.

Only happened once but I had a pair using two lockers next to each other. It was impossible to get them out.

    That's not how it works.

IF it has a substantial effect on game balance, that will be reflected in the kill rates.

IF the kill rates go up, THEN killers will get nerfed, and rightly so.

They didn't immediately nerf survivors after the HUD actions update, they left it to see how much of an effect it had on game balance.

Hardly a nerf when they gutted gen defence at the same time.

  • This game is a mess currently. The most effective chance of winning is creating dead zones and trying for dear life to hold a 3 gen.

You can have hex builds but it's like a roll of a dice. I had more fun as killer when dh and coh was meta.

Trying to adjust your whole game around the mistake which was SM.

If I had never played killer before and began to now I would uninstall.

  • Sorting her god awful walking animation would be a good start for me. She looks like shes skating on the front of her feet.

It actually distracts me from judging distance it's that bad.

I don't play against or with her enough to comment otherwise since this patch.

This is the most likely scenario tbh. Probably plundered and found a key

It is indeed a possible scenario I forgot about. It seems a tad weird to me they didn't even touch the gate.

Key may have been the reason in this case though.

For the record I have seen a person bleeding out only to instant escape before my eyes. I must have slugged them for a reason too. I can't remember.

So it could have been either.

Seen a video of aura hacking killers recently by Hens. I hope it doesn't get bad again.

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

unfortunately there are a lot of cheaters on both sides. just got out of a game where a killer used super speed if nobody was close. he obviously doesn't know that kindred also shows his aura across the map.

Yeah I had a pinhead going straight to the box everytime in one game. Not using the box aura add on as it activated chain hunt.

Had another game with a Trapper moving a bit sharpish.

Not as bad as it used to be yet. I once had someone jumping in the sky like a flea everytime I went to hit them.

Somehow I got them on the hook as the other survivor stood and watched. They instant escaped but still.

Subtle cheaters are worst IMO though.

  • I had this on an Xbox Series controller and it had only been replaced a month prior. Luckily it was still in warranty.

  • I don't main one killer right now and don't need certification to when I'm doing good or bad and the same applies for opponent. I already know. Given the nature of the game this isn't always reflected in result.

No point ranking for survivor for me as I'm only soloq currently. Same as above anyway.

The biggest challenge in this game for me is continuing to enjoy it warts and all. You can't rank that.

I've dominated number one spot in another game before. It doesn't do anything for you.

  • People using Nurse and Blight as a basis for it being killer sided lol

    Enlightening but na not really!

There is many people who’ve won over 100 matches as killer.

Sometime ago perhaps not in it's current form. Or nurse and blight so that says a lot.

  • Get them to try a weaker killer for a while until their mmr is raised then see what they think lol

  • How do gens stop being tunnelled?

  • It may not have competition right now but that doesn't mean people wont move on to something else. I did for 6 months.

Both sides need pleasing. I play both although I prefer killer.

I rarely use s tier killers so I really think bhvr need to be very careful with their next few updates.

  • Might be vodafone related this time. Will wait and see.

  • Still not working!

  • This gets thrown about enough at killers so. Skill issue/babies is the reason.

i have never dc as survivor as I care about ruining others experience.

  • It's kind of annoying that the survivors essentially have 4 times the offerings and most maps are survivor- sided anyway against weaker killers.

I do as killer use them from time to time if I want best chance to pip with a weak killer with anti heal perks for a change.

It's kind of getting old now the amount of offerings I have to put up with per session. The same maps over and over gets boring too.

2 things can be unhealthy at the same time. My point is that boring gameplay is trash. 3 gen cob/overcharge? Trash. Swfs on comms using bnps? Trash. Face camping and tunneling at 5 gens? Trash. I play both sides so I refuse to encourage lame gameplay just because it might benefit me.

I play both sides too so want whats best for the game. I prefer killer though because in soloQ I get put with potatoes sometimes.

I'm only concerned if the scales of imbalance tilt much more where this game is headed.

I came back to find not only is corrupt not basekit they nerfed it and gave survivors basekit BT.

Pain res nerfed and getting nerfed again!

I found DH more or less as annoying as before too as killer FOV is so terrible. Although I got to grips with it majority of the time now. Disregarding what I think is auto DH and garbage at vaults and pallets.

No problem for me I will take a break again until they get an idea if it tilts too much more in wrong direction.

Killer must sweat if they want to stand even a chance of winning but survivors don't.

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

ok, make hex perks noisy like boons and 14 seconds to set up and they are not up from the beginning and you have to find a totem first.

edit: also a map wide soundeffect when the killer puts a hex down

What can they be relit like a boon? Seriously lol

  • Due to them being the 3 gen queen I imagine all survivors DC when they are picked.

I think they plan to change them a bit so that might change I dunno.

Thanks to SM nearly every killer regression perk will be nerfed. Like way to go BHVR!

when skillchecks get faster from hyperfocus with 4+ tokens, yes, I would say it requires skill, even more so with things like doctor's madness and perks like Unnerving Presence

True but on average they are not.

  • @LollyGurl said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394689#Comment_3394689

Gen rushing does require skill, a lot of survivors struggle with difficult skill checks, which is part of what made Overcharge good and it’s why not all of them can use Brand New Parts or Hyperfocus. Then easier stuff like Prove Thyself or Friendly Competition causes Discordance to trigger or requires them to waste time cleansing/booning like Overzealous, which gained the booning option just as the best boon’s getting giga-nerfed :D

Timing one button hardly requires what I would call skill. That's just me though.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

I really wish my fellow killer mains would stop pretending like the gen kick meta is healthy for the game. There is nothing more boring than trying to break a 3 gen for 20 minutes because the killer has COB/Overcharge. It also isn’t even skillful.

Neither is gen rushing so not sure what your point is? I get bored kicking gens though anyway so might be roll of the dice hex builds for me.

Great when all you can rely on is a roll of a dice.

Great against a swf that lol

Dude people DC just because they got downed.

It's not that straight forward. People can cope with going down and being on a hook.

CSGO is the most popular PvP game rn, and it has people doing nothing for upwards of 1.5min several times over in a single game, without disconnecting.

Killers do d/c when they get gen rushed. They also d/c when you loop them for 3 gens, and they haven't even managed to take a healthstate.

Survivors DC more in my experience. They are entitled little babies the ones that do and they spoil the game for other survivors.

What killers have to deal with is often rage inducing if you let it so it's somewhat understandable sometimes.

It's not like boo hoo I don't like this killer so I DC.

I have seen plenty DC just because they were downed. It's a fairly recent thing for me that I think SM brought about. I have never even used them yet. I don't remember it happening much a year ago for example.

i dunno I play for the team as survivor and if the killer wants to waste time camping me etc.. that's fine by me. If I DC then that time is wasted altogether.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

There are a lot of reasons a Survivor will instantly give up, but most of them stem from a lack of patience.

Either they're always impatient, or they've already played out some games against scummy Killers, and their patience has run thin.

Do you typically roam close to hook looking for any nearby Survivors, or just outright proxy camp?

No one loads up DBD to sit on hook for 2 minutes, or to be run down off hook before they have a chance to establish a safe loop. If you're slow to leave an area, a Survivor is going to assume you'll come right back to hook when they get saved.

And personally, I've come to feel as though hook trading is just as insufferable to deal with as tunneling--if not more. I'm seeing so many killers slap on Deadlock and Pain Res, then camp and/or tunnel. Not only is it no fun to be the Survivor who goes down without a chase, because the Killer wants a free trade, but it's boring af to be the Survivor who works on one gen for 3 minutes, because of Pain Res.

Dude people DC just because they got downed.

Anyway if you condone DC for other reasons then by rights a killer should DC when getting gen rushed!

When I play soloq and someone DC it makes me more angry than any killer could ever make me.

  • I think you really have upset a lot of killers now. Still get decent games but against a swf on comms that just wants to gen rush it's going to be even more diabolical than it already is.

    Way to go.

  • I see it as rather childish treating anyone nastily online. Why because the killer tried to have fun or win so you gang up like school kid bullys.

Like people are in the wrong for playing killer in the first place. Reality check no game without kilker end of. I play both and get camped and tunnelled if my team let it happen. Doesnt bother me as much as being left to reach second stage for no reason.

Im guilty of calling out stupid survivor plays or lack of but thats it. Sometimes its just beyond stupid and they need to be told.

  • Na those are just toxic. Bully squad is a highly coordinated team setting you up for pallet, flashlight stuns and head ons.

Makes me laugh people using the word killer when comparing skill levels of others. Every killer on every map is at the same power right. Lol

  • It was long enough to put me off doing it again. Cosmetics was nail in coffin almost.

  • Generally It doesn't bother me anymore I just think it's immature and toxic. I never do it when playing survivor but I sometimes wait a bit to see If they come if not I leave. Mostly only wait to make sure rest of players are safe. I never teabag though.

I had one game as killer though recently where it did bother me I got gen rushed so hard I didn't even see 2 players the whole match. Don't think I even got a hook in end. I'm fairly new to using Doctor. I only had 2 chases not even that long where they were both in good spots.

So barely any skill needed from them but they teabagged. Wow must have been hard doing those skill checks.

My theory is it's only survivor mains do it as they have no concept of how hard killer is against a swf on comms or just toxic humans in general.

If someone hits me on a hook it's more of a complement I gave them a hard time so it's not the same at all.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 9
