lol What Vecna says as walking past!
-
It's damn awful and giving me a literal headache playing. I have never lost track of survivors as often as today. They stay like this just remove them altogether. If the point was to completely confuse killer. Then job well done!
-
Same on PC
-
I'm not giving them credit for fixing major bugs that shouldn't have gone live to begin with.
I'm not buying new content until the devs earn it!
Since last update.
Lost ability to use rtx hdr (fine if easy anti cheat actually works now)
As killer I've been blinded lots of times facing objects or looking away.
I went through a vault and hit invisible wall as survivor.
Seen various graphical glitches.
Game just hard froze in end game lobby.

Sounds like an average survivor saying "Clearly they have never played against Otz, or 2000 win streak Blight"
You can't win doesnt mean someone else can't. Some players are better than others. Its the MMR mismatch you with them, not the balance.
Sounds like an average survivor saying just get good.
Due to the randomness of the game it can never be "balanced".
What it shouldn't end up being though is overly unbalanced to cater for casuals only for it to be a complete joke when both sides are skilled.

Something to the effect of " We are nerfing slowdown perks because they're highly used and arent hard to activate yet give great reward " ( which btw, so whats harder in the game than the main killers objective, that also doesnt make sense )
Meanwhile, I see minimum 2x Windows of Opportunity per match. Its the most used perk, takes nothing to activate and gives huge rewards.
I am not pushing for a nerf for either side, I play both roles 50 50. It just doesnt make sense.
Clearly they have never played against a 4 man swf with comms lol.

seems like our gpu is just not good enough for new engine ;)
I have a 4070 super and a little time after UE5 the game has ran terrible when using gsync. Was fine when it was first updated to UE5 then performance has not recovered since. I won't be buying anymore content until it's addressed it's shoddy as hell!

Something else is happening because when everything is set correctly this will not happen. All it takes is one mis-setting and it will not engage nor work correctly at all and you use need to use something to veriify what's going on.
If you explain your setup and settings I can help you figure it out including the model of your TV which is the place I would start because I have a feeling it might have a limited range.
My previous post I said I had it working fine. Then the game devs have messed it up a little time after UE5 update. Nothing has changed my end other games are fine too. Game is pissing me off now.
-
I managed it a couple of times but anyway the perk is garbage on everyone else unless you get terrible survivors so it's not really a cause for complaint.
-
The potential fix update actually destroyed performance on my machine. I get terrible microstutter which show up as flashing on an oled with gsync. I avoided it using a frame cap at 80 fps at 4k. Last test at 4k 60fps it still does it after update. I also noticed my cpu spike to 50% when generally the highest it spikes to is 35%. Super annoying.
-
It's gotten worst since they removed depip who would have thought.

I wouldn't describe this as a "fix" to anything. The idea is simply to make using underused perks a little less punishing. There will never be a world in which all perks have equal value. I don't think that should even be a goal. But adding an incentive that doesn't effect balance is at least something.
Yeah I'm not against it as a general idea but feel soloq is bad enough without randoms bringing rubbish perks to perhaps go against meta ones.
I was hoping we would get a randomized perk mode at some point though at least you can put that down to luck if you get rubbish. I think your idea would be good for that.

Sounds like you have more than a few incorrect settings somewhere mixed with guesswork about what's happening.
V-Sync is never active when G-Sync is engaged, it can behave like V-Sync under the right conditions but it is most certainly not V-Sync.
G-Sync offers the best input lag solution because of how it works especially when FPS is constantly below maximum refresh rate.
Turning on vsync in this game makes gsync inactive. My TV shows 119fps when the game is capped below that so its not active. I'm not a computer noob so no need to treat me as such.
I actually had the game working well using gsync and rtss frametime limiter to avoid oled gamma flicker. Until they "updated" game and made microstutter worst.
-
Seems like a lazy fix I would prefer they make some perks base kit (pain res and windows) and others actually useful.
-
Just fix the games performance or I'm playing less and less regardless. What improvements did we get from UE5? None I can see but a whole lot of problems though. Just give us DLSS if you can't make a game that doesn't run like garbage.
I'm using an oled with gsync so ever microstutter i can see. I had it fixed with a frametime cap before last update but now its made all that effort to find the right cap a waste of time as before I had 4k 80 fps. I tried 4k 60 earlier and it's still not stable.
What are you doing?
-
Something is defo not right with the last update. I had the previous ue5 game stable with no in game gsync oled gamma flicker. The last update is a train wreck.
I also noticed my 9900k hit 50% usage at 4K res which it's never done before in this game.

I honestly wonder what is wrong with people like you. This bitterness towards one side of the game is just really sad to be honest.
I am not even sure how one would determine that it's mainly just killer mains who complain about survivors giving up. But nevertheless, believe it or not, people just like to play out matches properly, without having people give up somewhere during the match.
This us vs them is just so pathetic.
So true. Without the other side there is no game. It seems difficult for some to grasp. lol
-
Seriously I spend ages trying to get this game stable without g-sync oled gamma flicker. I had a frame cap at 80 fps 4k and was finally happy. I did suffer with the rubberbanding a bit though. Since last patch the gamma flicker and stutter seems a lot worse no matter the settings. Still had a bit of rubberbanding too.
Please make this game less jank! Forget the extra modes as at this rate I'm gonna quit for a while.
-
I have found that switching nvcp low latency to off in the game I get unplayable rubberbanding. Using with it on and I'm still seeing some strange things happen but not nearly as bad. One game I was standing on hatch and pressed the escape button. Next thing killer appears and has closed it. lol
I'm glad in potential improvements coming with unreal engine 5 but I see none at this precise moment so what was the point doing it right now?
Are we going to get ray tracing, dlss or proper HDR? Anyone know!

It works amazingly well and has for years but there are various settings that this game is fussy about and G-Sync is needlessly confusing and to top everything off for some reason when it comes to this game every single YouTube and guide I've ever seen always parrot the same ridiculous suggestions that mostly don't do anything and the ones that do just make things worse. People end up trying all kinds of weird things and forget to un-do them so even if they end up fixing one issue they never know it because something else is borked.
Anyway rant over.
First make sure you're fully updated and using latest drivers.
For G-Sync always use these settings specifically:
NVCPL - Setup G-Sync Enable G-Sync / G-Sync Compatible
- Enable For Windowed and Fullscreen
- Enable Settings For Selected Display Model
NVCPL - Set Resolution To Native and Refresh Rate To Highest Available Listed
NVCPL - V-Sync "On"
NVCPL - Preferred Refresh Rate - Use Highest Refresh Rate Available
NVCPL - Low Latency Mode "On"
DBD GameUserSettings.ini:
- bUseVsync=False
- FullscreenMode=1
- LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=1
- PreferredFullscreenMode=1
- FrameRateLimit=120.000000
- FPSLimitMode=120
Windows Settings —> Display —> Graphics —> Change Default Graphic Settings —>
- Variable Refresh Rate "On"
- Optimizations For Windowed Games "On"
I'd suggest using FrameView or R.T.S.S to easily monitor what's happening. Here is a quick video I made this morning for someone else to show how easy it is to install and use FrameView. I happened to have R.T.S.S running at the same time. Between those two it's very easy to see what's going on if there is an issue, and once everything is working correctly the game actually runs like a dream.
For me when I have Vsync on in this game g-sync isn't even active. Says it is on monitor but the fps on monitor doesn't fluctuate meaning it isn't active. So input latency isn't the best.
With vsync off and g-sync active the fps is too erratic meaning oled gamma flicker is awful. I can reduce that a bit by capping fps but it's so random to get it stable I would probably have to play 1080p at 60 or 90 with a 4070 super lol.
I tried fixed refresh settings and it has a lot of stutter. Strangely works better with gsync on but not active.
This game is just weird and far from well optimised.
Just also to note that when I switch low latency mode off then I get terrible rubberbanding right now. This is a major problem for others currently.
-
I must be knocking on trying a hundred different settings combinations. It's truely annoying I also get flashing when the fps dips a stupid 1 frame under fps cap with gsync. Even though my gpu and cpu are nowhere near maxed out.
-
Yeah few updates back this started happening. I liked playing them from time to time. Unplayable pretty much the way it is. Unless you like getting in a rage.
-
Boil over alone isn't much of an issue unless you have to drop down or they have found a hook dead zone.
I have had players that slam and lock me into objects though. These are hackers if nothing else is in play like breakout etc..
-
Some players do drag the game out for the 4K. I have done this myself as killer but if it takes too long I pick up.
These days it's gg at 3K for me unless the players were t bagging etc..
The trouble with unbreakable basekit is if they go down at a pallet or other player is waiting for a blind. Would make the timing too easy. Thats unfair to killer.
Bleed out acceleration should be available with just 2 players though. This should be classed as a hook or it might hurt killer score.
-
I always thought this should be the case. Blood warden can be pretty nasty/hilarious though. I think it should regress but at a pretty slow rate.

The kill rates massively disagree with your perception of the game.
Old data! The game has changed massively since survivors have adapted to the self healing nerf etc.. People must be playing against babies with a blight to think otherwise.
-
They need to put a hell of a lot of work in to get 1 vs 4 right let alone that.

Its normal. Killer-Incentives are far more often at 100% than 6 months ago. I cant blame the playerbase, killer with the new fast vaults (currently) plus Made for This / Endurance all over the place is not always a fun experience. Thats my point of view in friendly words.
Are they listening because I see no sign of it. They need to act now!
I would say the stats would indicate what is happening. Then again with all the DC'ing/idling what are the stats really worth.
They should just listen to unbias players like Otz and Hens.

Just as a reminder to everyone, this is what fresh scratchmarks looked like on the PTB. I can see scratchmarks on the wall, but look at the ground... The survivor ran from where I was in the picture, all the way around the wall to the right side of the screen..... but the scratchmarks are barely visible on the ground.
And by the way, I don't think this bug ever got acknowledged, and stayed "under review" the entire time, so maybe these are the new intended scratchmarks.
Doing their utmost to kill the game I think. Unless this is a bug.

When a killer DCs, the match ends immediately, all the survivors are considered as escaped, and they walk away with their earned BP. It's a survivor victory, and I rarely see survivor players complain about a killer DCing. In fact it's something a lot of them take joy in, from what I've seen.
But a survivor DCing increases the chance for the other survivors to lose. It's less so now that there's bots but I consider these bots idiots and I don't want a bot on my team so I still strongly dislike it when my fellow survivors decide to bail on me in a match. Someone else's actions disadvantage me in the match that I must continue playing, so of course I'd be more upset about it than the killer quitting and immediately awarding me the win.
Totally. Most of the time I see a killer DC it's when the last gen pops. At least a big part of the game was played.
Although I would prefer they suck up the loss as annoying and unfair the game might be. They surely don't want the tea bagging.
On the other hand survivor's DC or idle mostly at the start of the match. Ruining the game for the others fairly often.
Skull mechant isn't the reason either I have seen it against lots of killer. So tell me people whats the excuse apart from being a baby?

It's more than just the fast vaults though. Yes, the fast vaults are insane right now and survivors basically have invulnerability shields at windows. But there is oh so much more to it.
The endurance spam is infuriating. There are way to many ways to proc endurance giving a bonus health state. Most survivors take a minimum of three hits to take down anymore.
The gen speeds are goofy. BHVR undid their nerf to gen speeds by giving survivors so many perks that increase their repair speed now. So yeah while base gens technically take longer than they used to. They actually take less time in practice thanks to all the perks and boxes.
Survivors are actually more powerful when injured now as they run faster, vault faster, heal faster, and repair faster.
And Windows of Opportunity quite literally plays one of the harder parts of the game for you. Pathing used to be something that required time to learn and skill to apply. But Windows of Opportunity does your pathing for you now. You literally know exactly what is safe and where to go next.
And the cherry on top of all of it is the same survivors who are living in this luxurious era for survivor will you without a hint of irony claim killer is OP and easier than ever. Even though Killers best perks have all been nerfed. And the killers themselves keep getting nerfed. And even more hilariously the two most recent killers have been designed to be rendered powerless by giving survivors weapons to completely nullify their powers and make them basic M1 killers.
It's beyond insane.
Totally agree with all that. It's just the vault thing was the last straw for me. Been playing survivor more and more. Shame I like playing killer but I can only stomach so much BS. I don't play s- tier's. I used to play a lot of spirit but found it usually too easy.
Last BS I had was a buckle up/FTP team. Was a complete joke of a game.
-
@Caiman said:
Next patch isn't going to change anything. People will play xenomorph for a week, realize he's not that good, then go back to their usual mains, or stop playing.
Well the fast vault thing is being reverted I thought. Until they attempt another "fix" down the line maybe.
Also looking forward to being able to change res.

Steam servers keep going on and off tonight. Most people including me can't even login right now. Maybe it's related to that?
Might be but only one game had odd timing for me. The rest was near or after the last gen popping.
-
Yeah reward the player for getting hit. Makes perfect sense.
Killer should get a haste effect everytime they whiff. That sound fair too!
-
Well I expect a good blight or oni won't have much of an issue with MFT.
Have fun going against a buckle up/ for the people team. lol
-
It's fine you don't like a perk etc..
You need to address what perks are buffed to killer to balance things though.
-
@DyingWish92 said:
Buckle Up and FTP is legit infuriating as killer now. Survivors can just walk right up to you and use this crap and get away scott free, BOTH OF THEM! Endurance is becoming a big problem in this game now. Way way way to many times that the killers inputs just literally don't count and it's dumb. Buckle up on its own I don't care but with for the people it's complete BS.
If I were in charge one of the perks would be kill switched. I'm all for finding good synergy with perks but this one is an embarrassment.
-
@Shroompy said:
MFT and FTP dont work together anymore, its just Buckle Up and FtP
also I think Buckle Up just needs an activation requirement, similar to WGLF but harder to get than WGLF since its a bigger payoff
Really I didn't know. I presumed it was a new thing because never seen it happening like that before. Those perks are old. Buffed I guess.
I'm not putting up with games like the one I just had.

I'm actually seeing less DCs since the bots. Not sure why.
More suicides began once they announced bots. Strange that.
So half the time you won't even get a bot that would have been more productive anyway than a great deal of players are.

The bug still exists for killer where you can see the aura of destroyed totems. Come on fix it already.

Hide the prestiges in the lobby (as the ranks early). Please.
Them being blank looks kind of bad so they should either rework the menu or put in profile pics. Both require work that they might not be willing to do.
-
When a survivor criticizes 90% of the time I can tell by their follow up responses they never play killer. It's funny really!
-
I used to see this from time to time. On one occasion it was a team of head on's. I thought they just broke the locker and didn't know it was a bug lol
-
I really don't get how some people play so bad. Was the game released yesterday it sure feels like it at times.
I had a game with 2 bots nearly from the start. They do some silly things but at least we did gens.
I feel like I'm trying to baby sit a lot of my games.
-
How about thoroughly playtesting your "bug fixes" in future please!
Isn't the game a little old to feel like a beta at times.
-
I did pretty much main them for a good while. Not touched them since MFT came out. Will wait for the fast vault revert until I try them again. Putting traps at vaults is kind of predictable mind you. Gotta love it when you get Eyrie though lol

Yea, I had that vs. a Kate the other day... even with full bloodlust I couldn't catch up to her... She did have Sprint Burst and Windows though, sooo maaaybe she was just really adept at looping with windows? Can't really say. Too bad EAC doesn't work like it's supposed to.
I haven't had a full blown bloodlust 3 speed cheat in a long time. I used to get loads at one point. As people know the account can get banned it's usually subtle they do it theses days.
Some are blatant though. I had someone jumping in the air like a flea to avoid a hit over a year ago. That was kind of funny but ultimately stupid. Instant escape too.
The ones that are subtle are the real issue as they make you seem like a clown and are gonna make people quit who don't know better.
If you spot something fishy with someone leave chase. It's then obvious you were right going against someone else's speed. Unless it's a group.
The one's I have found suspect lately also seem like they lose their hit box. I think they add a small amount of speed to make it look less obvious.
Rule out their ping is an idea too.
Either cheaters or they broke autoaim even more than it is normally. Odd it only happens with some players though if that's the case. Yeah some people are crazy good at trying to make you miss. This isn't the same thing I'm talking about.
-
Love it when people claim to play "killer". Yeah which killer?
Not all killers have the same power level dude.
-
@ThatRedPyramidThing said:
If a killer plays nice and doesn't tunnel or camp they get rewarded survivors tea bagging and flashlighting in the gates.
Post game messages are very cruel calling them garbage or worse and saying things like easy and free. This feels awful.
So they stop playing nice and play competitively. Then survivors are angry at them.
So my question to survivors is why? If you want killers to not tunnel or camp why do treat the ones who don't tunnel or camp so cruelly.
Survivors actively discourage killers from playing nice or chill.
Just saying, if you want nice killers maybe just leave when the gates are open without the mockery and don't berate a nice killer for losing.
Until it's rewarded for spreading hooks. Do whats the best idea to win! I'm not one for facecamping before end game though. It's too boring.
Unless a team is not doing gens and is terrible at looping playing nice can sometimes be a bad idea unfortunately.
I do find that my empathy can sometime bite me back though.
-
@Saiph said:
Yeah many survivors are literal douches. Once, I even got teabagged by the person I gave hatch to. I don't have any explanation, I think some just have such a low IQ that they don't even realize that you played nice.
However, most of my survivors are not like this, they behave cute in-game or in chat, sometimes give me their item. Which leads me to often give hatch.
From my experience killer players are A LOT more toxic than survivors, and I'd say the killer role also has a lot more potential to be toxic with things like slugging/3-gen merchants etc. It doesn't excuse the toxicity on either side, though.
I do a slow t bag which is saying thank you when given hatch. It's hard to communicate in this game apart from end game chat.
Yeah t bag isn't always a bad thing. Given that most of the time it's toxic though.
