If a football game goes back and forth and is entertaining and decided by a single scoring drive be it touchdown or field goal is it not a good game even by the side that lost?
It just means the game was well played and hard fought.
I'm definitely not a gg after every game type of person but if it was a close and thrilling or even frustrating match I put up a gg because it was clearly hard fought.

”apply pressure" and "spread pressure" are survivor main’s gaslighting terms.
"boring” is survivor code speak for strong killer they want to see nerfed.
You can spot survivor mains easily by the language they use. It's all gaslighting and code speak.
-
No point in posting anything like this here. The survivor mains are just going to gaslight you.
Killers aren't allowed to express their frustration here brother. I'm sorry and I know how you feel.
But just so you know you aren't crazy. Killer is absolutely at the weakest it has been since the very beginning. The only worse time to play killer was year one. And survivors are faster in both gens and chase than ever.
Come join me in TCM for awhile. Take a break.

Amen!

DbD Mobile Artists: realistically animated hair, smoke, glitter, necklaces, key chains, body paint, tattoos, just absolutely beautiful detailing and NEW MORIS
DbD Core Artists: Goofy, ugly, obnoxious backpacks.
Seriously who on the core art team has this obsession with backpacks. The Backpacks have to stop. Please.
The Mobile Artists are being wasted on the Mobile game.

I am searching for a new main. Preferably a male survivor. My current main, david, has been neglected by not getting skins anymore so i need a new one. I need opinions on what other male survivor is more catered to the devs in terms of more likely to getting skins and generally more liked in the community so I can dedicate more time into and be more invested in them. All opinions are welcomed for discussion!
The only males who consistently get skins are Dwight, Ace, and Felix.
Basically every other male survivor gets a new skin every six months or every couple years if you are Jeff, Adam, or Jonah.

The changed it because they changed the scream sound trigger.
This way it's is still technically 4 seconds as the first second is lost in the animation.
I still only use it on Billy, Freddy, Sadako, and Blight though. As a they can actually use the information. Everyone else it's not much help on.
Also I used it mainly for the BP. With the BP gone it's a niche perk now. Nowhere to Hide and Darkness Revealed are much better information perks for most killers.

Right now I'm so deep in Texas Chainsaw Massacre I have no desire to touch Dead by Daylight.
Five Nights at Freddy's is one of only three things I would come back for. The other 2 being new Silent Hill stuff or TCM dying off

there is a reason so there are so many restrictions put onto survivors in comp dbd, yet they STILL win a lot of the games.
And yet this forum will literally start attacking you if you say the game favors survivors and killers are in one of the worst spots they've been EVER. Outside of year one, this is the worst era for killer.
And survivors will run in here screaming and crying that "NOOO, KILLER IS EZ NOW AND SURVIVOR US WEAL BECAUSE DEAD HARD AND DECISIVE STRIKE!!!! REEEEE. REEEEE. THEY ADDED TEN SECONDS TO GENS, REEEEE!!”
However they will ignore that Killers were nerfed 10x harder because of the Dead Hard and Decisive Strike nerfs. Literally any Survivor nerf is followed up by completely gutting Killer so Survivors don't truly lose anything ever.
Killers had EVERY single gen regression or slowdown perks completely and utterly crushed. Without those perks you don't have time to do chases so you gotta tunnel and proxy camp, use Blight or Nurse who cqn actually chase, or use 3 gen Skull Merchant to ignore chases.
Survivors lost 2 perks but then got perks that are stronger than the 2 they lost.
Survivors have perks that cut gen times, survivors have perks for extra health states, survivors have perks for extra speed...
The game is the worst it's been for killer period point blank end of story. And you can't tell me different.

By this logic, the devs should never change anything and we should be left with OG maps without entity blockers and BNPs that instant complete a gen.
Before they made BT basekit, BT was basically a must-run perk as without it killers basically had a free down at hook. It's a necessary change.
Big difference in things that were changed in the first couple of years where both the players and devs were learning and something that was in the game for half a decade and was fine.
-
@Crowman said:
Endurance after unhook has to exist otherwise there's nothing stopping a survivor who just got unhooked from being instantly down right at the hook. It gives the just unhooked survivor a chance to get to play rather than just immediately be put back on hook.
The game is existed for 6 years without it just fine.
-
Same.
I don't care what BHVR does to try and stop me. I will tunnel until chases are fair.

Hey, just general opinions.
for record I would say I’m middle/average MMR. Almost 2500 hours across steam & Xbox. I play both K&S - about 40%K, 60%S
I’ve recently noticed a drastic change in the play style and attitudes of the DBD player base and just wanted to know if anyone has also or are you also part of the change and if so, why?
Camping & Tunnelling early game:
this has grown SOOO much. It’s become a regular when I play solo or with friends that 3 out of 5 games (even in a row) that the killer either Camps and tunnels from 5 gens or just hardcore pure tunnel vision tunnels. Even to leave current chase with an injured survivor to cross the map back to the unhooked (I know where they come from because of coms with friends) this is now more than the average game. It’s like it’s the go to strategy. Currently in game there is nothing (let’s be real) that can be done to stop this.
Survivors:
First down = DC or
First Hook = Kill themselves.
this was always somewhat of an issue, NOW it is everywhere in Solo Q. Bots are useless. They can’t even hit hook skillchecks (######### is up with that?!)
both sides have become anti-fun.
For me it’s worse as a Survivor. With all the nerfs over the last 18 months, (K base buffs, DS nerf, dead hard destruction, gen speed nerfs, flashlight nerfs, healing nerfs etc…) plus on top of the rise in C&T it just leads to boring, none rewarding game play.
literally none rewarding. If a killer doesn’t get a 4K, he atleast gets some BP. If a S is camped & tunneled at 5 gens, offerings, items & addons wasted, no BP, depip. Killers are not punished the same for losing so a S still gets the punishment in their actual game not just their gameplay.
Even the recent 7 Anniversary Event. Camping and Tunnelling was almost EVERY MATCH!
My issue and question is that this is not BHVR. This is the player base. I just want to know why? What happened? Does anyone else agree? Have you experienced this or have you also done this? No judgement if you have, just for information I’m curious as to why?
what’s happened?
Chasing is the worst it's ever been for killer. Even with the buffs for chasing. A single chase can and typically will cost you either 2 or 3 gens. The maps are filled to the brim with pallets and windows. And thanks to WoO survivors know that exactly where the safe ones are and where resource are still up. This means most chases are extended.
Then on top of WoO there is MfT and Resilience which further extends chase. Then God forbid the survivors are even half ass coordinated then you gotta deal with body blocks, flashlights, sabos, and cruelest of all the Buckle Up FtP combo.
The devs nerfed every single regression perk which was what gave the killer time to do chases. Then to make it worse after nerfing the regression they released several perks that speed up gens for survivor. So gens go even faster than they did before despite the 10 second time increase. BHVR completely erased the one real buff killers got in years.
And if you pay attention survivors KNOW chases are how Killers lose the game. And I can PROVE that survivors know this, because the 4 killers they hate the most are the 4 killers who can get around the chase.
Nurse and Blight are hated because they are actually good in chase and can win them.
Sadako is hated because she can ignore the chase.
And the most despised is Skull Merchant who also not only ignores the chase but forces survivors to come to them.
You will also notice they hate basement builds because those builds also ignore the chase.
This is all proof that chasing is a bad idea for killer and everyone knows it.
Camping and tunneling are good counters to chases and guaranteed kills.
Things will only get worse until BHVR balances around gens done rather than kills|escapes. Because kill rates are vastly inflated thanks to survivors throwing in the end game. 99% of kills happen AFTER all 5 gens are done. If survivors actually left after the final gen almost all games would be 0k or 1k and 2k at max.
BHVR needs to release the data on how many gens get done on average per match and how many survivors are still alive on average when 5th gen is done.

Maybe they see that there is an issue, when no one completes Singularities Archive challenges.
I hope so.
I want to play Meatball. He looks cool and he has cool lore but I don't like feeling like I can't do anything. he feels so powerless.
-
Before they first nerfed Ruin.
Old Ruin. Like True Ruin. Was the last time DbD was great.
But the patch that nerfed the 2nd version of Ruin was even worse.
Every patch that nerfed slowdown perks made Killer worse and worse to the point I'm forced to camp and tunnel because a chase will cost you gens and you'll end up with zero kills.
Better to guarantee one kill through camping. Then hope to get more at end game.
-
@Tsulan said:
Well í´m not doing the singularity archive challenges. Because i tried one and wow... pure pain. Never again!
I would imagine that other players think the same about the challenges and no, i don´t see many singularities around.
His challenges are stupid.
The devs really though actually using his power was easier that it is.
You be lucky to use overclock in a match period. You win the lottery if you manage to get a hit in overclock
I don't know how the devs didn't see the strength of EMPs. Like did they test them at all? Or are they really so bad at the game that they just didn't use em well enough?
No matter what the answer is the devs look really bad for releasing singularity and the EMPs.
-
No.
I learned my lesson with Singularity to NEVER EVER purchase a chapter where survivors are given a toy that completely removes the killer's power.
Alien will be popular for about a week PURELY on the license ALONE.
After that first week you will hardly ever see a Xeno because he will be just like Singularity where you aren't allowed to use his ability.
-
I wanted to be a Meatball main but I gave up on him.
Either his power stays as is and they completely remove EMPs because his power is strong but not so strong to justify EMPs. Because as is even if they don't use EMPs any survivors that reaches a loop will out run overclock as is.
The other option is to keep EMPs but buff his power triple the duration, remove the slowed effect from getting stunned in overclock AND make anyone with a pod on them exposed.
The final option is to make using the emp a risk/reward. Make it so while carrying an EMP you cannot do any conspicuous actions or use pallets/vaults.

I would say there's a stark difference in between merely being slowed down and going on a cooldown; and putting in effort, losing distance, and seeing both investments go up in smoke because there was a printer nearby.
Like, Singularity can be strong. Deceptively oppressive, even. But he's arguably more map dependent than any other killer thus far. And, if he loses pressure for even the slightest moment, he may as well completely reset.
Xeno, on the other hand, never loses its ability to tunnel, for one. It can always switch to regular M1 mode, 'cause it'll be on your ass anyway when the flamethrower is relevant. Not to mention that Xeno can just smack 'em.
Singularity has way more potential than Xeno, I think. But Single Larry rarely fulfills that potential, whereas Xeno stays fairly consistent. It's only a cooldown, after all.
Still a worrying trend.
Two killers back to back have given survivors total control of their power.
And I'm still pretty sure Alien is gonna be weak on d survivors learn the best uses of the turrets

That's close o 50% which is good for solo q.
Also if you watch JRM when he loses it's because he's goofing off. Also most losses in solo q have nothing to do with the killer's skill it's because solos don't do gens.

Well the fast vault thing is being reverted I thought. Until they attempt another "fix" down the line maybe.
Also looking forward to being able to change res.
It's more than just the fast vaults though. Yes, the fast vaults are insane right now and survivors basically have invulnerability shields at windows. But there is oh so much more to it.
The endurance spam is infuriating. There are way to many ways to proc endurance giving a bonus health state. Most survivors take a minimum of three hits to take down anymore.
The gen speeds are goofy. BHVR undid their nerf to gen speeds by giving survivors so many perks that increase their repair speed now. So yeah while base gens technically take longer than they used to. They actually take less time in practice thanks to all the perks and boxes.
Survivors are actually more powerful when injured now as they run faster, vault faster, heal faster, and repair faster.
And Windows of Opportunity quite literally plays one of the harder parts of the game for you. Pathing used to be something that required time to learn and skill to apply. But Windows of Opportunity does your pathing for you now. You literally know exactly what is safe and where to go next.
And the cherry on top of all of it is the same survivors who are living in this luxurious era for survivor will you without a hint of irony claim killer is OP and easier than ever. Even though Killers best perks have all been nerfed. And the killers themselves keep getting nerfed. And even more hilariously the two most recent killers have been designed to be rendered powerless by giving survivors weapons to completely nullify their powers and make them basic M1 killers.
It's beyond insane.

The flamethrowers didn't feel that powerful when I was playing him. Nowhere near as strong as Meatball's EMPs
Go watch JRM's recent video and your opinion might change.
Also Otz was calling Meatball strong at first too. People initially were positive on Meatball.
Time will tell. I could be wrong. But it looks bad imo for Alien. Especially when survivors get smarter with turret placement.
-
His power is fine. Singularity's power is fine.
But both are gonna get forgotten and never played because the survivors have totalcl control over them. Survivors being given toys that totally abolish any power the killer has is too much. It's not fun.
You will rarely see Alien just like you rarely see Meatball. A license can only carry you so far. See Freddy for example.
Alien will not played after the initial hype wears off. Because he's going to be Singularity part 2.
-
I play both sides. And despite what people may think due to how hard I defend Killer and push back against the popular opinion about Killer being easy than ever (it's not, it's actually the weakest it's been in years) I actually play a lot more as survivor than Killer so much so I never get survivor dailies because I have so much more time invested in survivor. In fact me playing so much solo que survivor is how I know for a fact that survivor is easier than killer by a large margin.
Survivors only lose when they don't do gens. Your survivor hud is there. Use it! See how little your team actually does. Stop saying killer is easy and op. It's not. Survivors just don't do gens.

Everything you mention relies on the fact that you have to down survivors lol. Like do you not remember how absurd the sprint burst you get from getting injured you can literally drag the killer from one side of the map to the other and get to the pallet and the map was bigger back then btw? The Dead hard which is frankly another health state? The absurd amount of safe pallets? The strong tiles and window rng? The map size isn't as tight right now? Tiles where you can see the red light peek through? Config files to highlights to the red light even further and fogs are non existent? The insta med kits?
Yeah Mori can turn the tides but usually at the first mori Survivors start pumping out generators and play it absolutely safe. Unless you're a top tier killer that doesn't matter. But in general it was living hell for most killers and again in general this state of the game is far easier.
Downing survivors was easier back then. At most they had Dead Hard. And Dead Hard is not the boogieman everyone made it out to be. I legitimately was never concerned whether or not a survivor had Dead Hard. Dead Hard could be baited most of the time. That's not me bragging but it's the truth. Dead Hard was not an issue for me or how I played.
Decisive Strike was the only perk that irritated me. But if I had a Mori DS was null and void. And if I didn't I could dribble to the hook if it was nearby. Swinging also caused them to miss the check pretty often. I could also slug the DS timer out. Or if I was in an area where the pallets were broke I'd just eat it.
Also no free Borrowed Time made it really easy to tunnel out a survivor which I did every game and it was very easy to win after that.
Also Old Ruin was so strong most of my games ended with 4 or 5 gens still up because survivors prioritized looking for Ruin and would literally throw the match for it. So many matches were free because Ruin was very strong and if it didn't get cleansed early it would win the game for you
Then if they did make it to the end NOED was waiting for em and it was hidden with no aura.
Killer was significantly easier than now.
Now survivors have pema endurance, Superman vaults, faster gens because perks and boxes nullify the new longer gen speeds, and they run faster while injured...
Survivor is easier than killer. Always has been. But Killer is weaker now than back then.
I know because I've been playing since Leatherface came out
-
I enjoy her and I don't 3 gen with her on purpose. I have unintentionally ended up with a 3 gen with her.
However I don't play her unless I have a daily for her because survivors just dc and I'm left playing against bots that are annoying to chase because they loop perfect and since the read your inputs they are not mind gameable.

I don't consider escaping whilst everyone else died, as success. Plus, to escape like that consistently I would have to let everyone die and not take any pressure for them. Unless we get those gens done and at least one person gets out the gate, the match is a failure.
But I that's how horror movies work. DbD is intended to play out like a horror movie
Most horror films have one survivor called the final girl. It's a trope.

Nonsense. You misunderstood.
I don't "play for Sole Survivor".
I run so when things go south I don't have to lose just because my solo q squad refused to do gens.
I do gens, I take chases, I go for saves. I play for the 4 man escape. But it's not up to just me. But yeah if things look grim I start playing for me.

I've genuinely lost track of how many threads I've seen that include something along the lines of "playing survivor is ez mode", or "playing survivor is braindead". It's just salty whinging. It's not even worth taking the time to think about.
Survivor is easy though. If you run Sole Survivor in your build you will escape the majority of the time even when your terrible solo q teams bite it. Because you can open the gates so fast the killer can't stop you.
Windows of Opportunity allows you to run safely very easily and if you know how to loop at all the killer will l leave you or he will throw the match by over commiting to you.
Between Windows and Sole Survivor I lose maybe 1 out of ever 5 games.
Then you have 2 flex slots. For MFT for chases, or Clairvoyance to find hatch. You can also use any of the busted endurance perks for extra health states if you aren't good enough to loop right
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
Do we not remember how survivors also had so much back then? Pallet Vacuuming, two pallets on one loop. We also had ds be meta for years, infinites for god knows how long with some still existing now under the right circumstances. BNP were so much stronger. Even if we move more modern, DH meta was a pain. DS up until a while ago literally decided games. Spine Chill destroyed some of the weaker members of the cast, and gen rushing was easier with 80 second gens.
Is the game in its easiest? No. Gen kicking meta would have been that. But this is definetly one of the easier periods.
As someone who played thousands of hours during those things. I would gladly rather have that era back over this current era. Survivors have 4 to 5 health states now, are significantly faster on gens due to perks, are faster in chase due to perks, and know exactly where is safe thanks to Windows.
It was easier for me killer vs old DS and DH. It's true.
-
I absolutely disagree.
Killer was significantly easier when basekit borrowed time didn't exist. When you could mori after first hook. When NOED had no aura. When Pop Goes the Weasel regressed by a base 25 instead of scaling. When Pain Res worked on every hook not just the first. When Ruin slowed gen repair.
Any saying Killer is easier now than then isn't remembering clearly.

I need to see you live stream about 10 matches in a row. I want to see you play Meatball.
-
Truth be told endurance as a whole needs to be removed. Other things than borrowed time.
BT is fine the rest are too strong.
-
Agreed.
I don't see the combo often but in the games where it's present is so oppressive and annoying. The game is unwinnable if they have coms and this combo.

Larry is a good killer, but not an easy one, hes one of the hardest killers to learn and master, so yeah, not many people will play him.
Also, on top of being hard to play the reward for learning and playing hard him well is not worth the effort. Nurse and Blight are difficult to learn and play but the reward is very high.
Wesker and Pyramid Head are stronger than Meatball and easier to use.

I don't play him because he doesn't have a power. I mean he does have a power but you will never get to use it. Like using his power is literally just detrimental to you. Setting up your pods just wastes your time. You are better off just ignoring your power altogether and just being a base attack killer.
The EMPs ruined this character

@Seraphor said:
A better option would be if depositing a bucket of blood provided you with an 'Entity's Favour', which not only scored BP but also allowed you to remove 10% of a generators required repair time.
Basically trading time for a BNP.
It would be less efficient than just sitting on a generator for those 9 seconds so if a survivor did it just for the BP it would be time lost, but it would provide a work around for 3 gens, and therefore a viable mechanic for high MMR as well.
Interesting.
I think a better more fair thing would be to speed up repairs by 10%/15%/20% for 20/40/80 based on how many survivors are left.
This would help with 3 genning as well as punish tunnel out a survivor as the bonus increases per dead survivor.
-
@Sackboy123 said:
Fun concept, but for High MMR Players and the average players not so much. BP isn't really worth anything anymore. Wouldn't fix gen rushing and if anything this would just throw games for Survivors that do it

I'm very surprised to see NOED mentioned. Not too many people seem to want it to be base kit.. This would make it to where the majority of Survivors would most certainly do Totems, which in turn, would help a lot with Gen rushing. If Survivors knew NOED was coming at the end of every trial, you'd start to see those Totems clear up pretty damn quick as well as Generators slowing down even if its only slightly. I also think it only makes sense for the Killer to become stronger toward the end of the trial.
Modern NOED is too weak to waste time on totems. It literally shows it's aura now... Why bother with totems mid match?
-
Deadlock (a shorter 15 second version)
Lethal Pursuer (the initial aura reading should be base, the perk should just be extended aura duration)
Shadowborn (I can't believe I have to burn a whole perk slot for a decent fov)
Fire Up
Kindred
Slippery Meat
Sole Survivor (a milder version)
Decisive Strike (current DS is not that strong, make it basekit and have the perk extend the stun by 2 sec)
-
Have any of you "nerf Blight" players ever even played Blight?
Cause I have and he's not very easy to play. Controlling his movements are rather difficult actually.
I that is the biggest reason. The devs, like most of us are mediocre to average players. And for us average players Blight is super frustrating to use properly.
Like Nurse when you see a Blight that's good it's because they have put in the work to get good.
I'm convinced that people who want Blight nerfed don't actually play Blight.
-
Nothing is wrong with the meta from the survivor side. Survivor is just as easy and strong as ever in fact more so since WoO does your pathing for you and you have 4 to 5 health states and perks to that speed up gens.
The only problem with survivor is the same problem that has always been there. Other survivors not doing gens. Just look at your hud and see how often none of the other survivors are doing anything.
Killer has no threat unless survivors just don't try.
-
Did you know Some Survivor is underrated.
I have never not escaped when I was the last survivor with Sole Survivor in my build. You open gates too fast for the killer to stop you and none of their aura perks can see you.
