I tried it, it barely felt like a difference in the results. tho I did feel more relaxed as Killer. Maybe it would be different if I sweated hard, but I didnt and I camp and tunnel when I get the chance, but the Survivors I matches with didnt give me that so I didnt feel the need or option.
But I think I could do with a months worth of PTB to really get deep on everything.
I wonder given the overwhelming majority of survivor outcry if they are deliberately skewing the data?

Then we get a new meta and the cycle continues that's my concern.
The meta must change and so bHVR must spin it. This is acceptable to me.
You get weak players who get overwhelmed and turned off and the experienced ones get an unbalanced game again.
I have my doubts about this theory, cause I remember I ran healing perks before, naturally cause I thought it was a good idea. In before the current meta beat that idea out of me. I don't think new players who have their mind open will suffer, players who don't want to change their build are gonna suffer. Which is fine with me, no party lasts forever. So as long as we keep an open mind and bHVR keeps a watchful eye and work out the perks that start spinning way faster than before, its okay.
I not saying it won't work well as I haven't tried it. It's just things are wrong at a core level with the game and a scaling effect is perhaps needed to iron out at lot of complaints. Camping, tunneling and gen rushing.

Thats what Perks and Chests are supposed to do no? but Killers can now use perks to counter that too.
So im hoping to see a lot more diverse builds post patch.
Then we get a new meta and the cycle continues that's my concern.

"Bad"/Unskilled play shouldn't be rewarding. On both sides. For survivor gen rushing is low skill.

Each time a survivor is healed by any means it takes longer.
I think this is what will be achieved, Healing starts out strong but will require more culminative time as med kits run dry.
bHVR has lowered the prices on Med kits in earlier patches, I know YOU have a huge stockpile of them, bHVR knows too.
If the healing changes come through its gonna be the age of "Wow, I actually have to use a Med Kit? YES!"
True but perks and chests might counter some of that.
-
I thought I noticed this once when a gen near me with about 5% progress blew up whilst the gen blocked was going like the clappers. Not too helpful lol
-
They got it wrong with pain res I only really ever got value from it when paired with iron grasp or agitation.
This has come about from them making two 3 gen killers in a row unfortunately.
I hope it works out.
If I get gen rushed by every swf going I will take another break from the game I think.
I don't always play high mobility killers.
-
I hit what I think was the last skill check today and it blocked anyway. 100% hit the gauge in the middle.
No other person on gen. There might have been some other reason for it but I don't think so. The chance of it happening at the same time are unlikely.
-
I would say about 80% + of maps favour survivors on average depending on killer, build and survivor skill.
I play both sides. I rarely bring a map offering as killer but you can bet a swf will everytime.
-
This never once happened to me 8 months ago unless I had a dropout.
A month ago it was happening a lot so I verified files and it seemed ok then another update came out.
It just happened again. Always when I'm doing really well it happens but never once when I'm doing badly.
What another waste of a bloody party streamer.
Sort it out please bhvr. My connection shows no dropout so what the hell is this.
-
I was getting this too frequently before last update. Always seemed to happen when I'm smashing everyone as killer.
I verified files then the update came out.
Thought it might be OK but it just happened again. I was smashing people of course. Never once happened when the game is going badly for me. lol
I'm beginning to think this is suspicious.
Network connect time is not reset on my PC so it's not internet dropouts.
-
What happens when they do that?
Was getting a lot of random disconnections a little while ago.
-
Yeah punish the DC'rs.
What is the reason why not? If my internet cuts off for a minute it takes about 5 min to come properly back on.
5 Min should be the first timer given.
People disconnect after first down at the start of a match and ruin the game for the rest.
Sure there are killers I don't like going against too much but I don't DC.
Also losing a surge hook late on can make a big difference.
Just fix it as it's worst than it used to be.

If you even knew me, you'd know I hate boons. Also you're not here to bicker yet you decided to say that. I will not rely on useless randoms to do simple jobs y'all will somehow fail.
I have my own effective build that doesn't require any of you to screw it up
Good for you. I was only dishing back. I know it can be frustrating. I had a pair earlier looking at each other nodding not even playing really until it was too late.

I play both sides, killer and survivor. I'm a newer player but I genuinely don't think the game is balanced very well at all, especially if you throw swf into the mix. I dont bring an item it because I don't think you should be able to, I think items should be exclusive to loot crates around the map. If I had it my way specific locations on the map would house a specific item so there's no element of chance based on which item you get. Loot crates near sheds always house toolboxes and flashlights, loot crates in houses always house first aid kits, etc.
But yeah, I dont bring items in because I just don't think they're fair for the killer.
It's mostly unbalanced when a good swf is in play and this is also when some people use items the most. Go figure.
I play both but used to barely play survivor apart from when I first got the game. Since the hud update and BP bonus I play more lately.
I understand your perspective though I don't use DH for the same reason.
-
@th3syst3m said:
Just had 5 matches in a row that were someone was afk, killed self on first hook or DC'd. I'm not bringing an item for my 6th match.
Yeah you tend to get spells like that. Had none today though.

I'm not dumb enough to stay in an area knowing the killer would come back. I actually have game knowledge. You just proved my point
Yeah run off to your boon far across the map but don't worry I will be efficient at least.
I'm not here to bicker btw I was just curious to the reasons.
Many have give their reason some of which make no sense to me but you all do you.

How about be a decent teammate and don't rely on people to bring items in? 🤨
I will remember that next time you want a quick heal and the killer is coming back for you.

Don't need an item to win
No but something that saves a few seconds can be make or break sometimes.

If I bring them at all its usually in swf or for challenges. Or if a build depends on the item. Otherwise i tend to just hoard stuff.
That's why then I thought so. NIce of you to take it easier on the killer in a swf lol
I might use this information to go hardcore then when I play killer if I see lots of items.
-
@Rogue11 said:
In solo queue, mmr is such a crap shoot it feels like I have a high chance of wasting any good items I bring.
I also understand it's frustrating for killers to constantly go against teams stacked with a bunch of medkits and toolboxes every match so I try to give them a break. Maybe if more people did so, fewer killers would run black wards with full meta perks. Probably not....
So you save them for swf games then?
-
@TeabaggingGhostface said:
Why should i?
To help the team win maybe.
-
If thats the way it's supposed to be then I won't complain but it isn't so I have a right to complain.
I play both sides but not spirit so much as I found her too easy to win when it wasn't broken.
-
I've had people give up on a 2 gen before as legion even though there was another gen miles away.
They just stubbornly tried to finish those 2 until they gave up.
I'm not saying SM doesn't need work but this is an example that the survivor mentality can also be to blame. I do play both BTW.
-
PC Same on epic.
-
It's the revenge of the Dredge killswitch!
-
Same here on PC
-
As a solo. Teammates disconnecting, killing themselves on hook, running away when I need a heal or generally not being efficient with their time is annoying.
Yeah killer is more stressful but with enough experience not nearly as much as it once was. Once I iri 1 I kind of chill or play with a new killer so I'm not expecting to win all the time tbh.
I sometimes play with an anti heal build to not worry so much about gens as it's a bit less demanding. It doesn't always work and I got moaned at for it but some people will moan if they lose regardless how.

Why don't they move the box to a new spot if the cenobite's close to it for 30 seconds without picking it up?
They did it with Executioner's cages
True it seems like a simple solution.
-
@Aceislife said:
It could be your controllers left stick sensor. Maybe its worn and won't register 100% movement always.
Yeah I had a spare which doesn't do it. The other one I only got back from ms repair about 3 months ago.
I will take it apart and give it a clean. it worked on the other one with stick drift. Never had this before though so touch wood a clean works.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Also if he's camping the box and not moving or solving it, making solving a chain hunt impossible, then it's technically possible to power through gens provided Ruin isn't in play (even if it is, it may be possible, but just very very difficult).
A couple of us were trying to do a gen together. it was progressing very slowly but was awful to do. This needs working out as it wasn't even close to being fun.
-
@Phasmamain said:
The chains come in groups of 3. Dodge 3 and you can solve it’s without the chains interrupting you
Thanks was super annoying. I guess the camping thing is rare I hope.

Being unable to increase res above native. That shouldn't be that hard to put in right?
There' re hacks to increase internal res but they don't work too well for me.
-
@scoser said:
That's your first mistake, being nice. If it ain't a toxic SWF you're running into, it'll be an actual cheater warping across the map, blocking all hooks, being unhittable, etc. Treat survivors like how they treat you, because they deserve it.
Unhittable? I know survivor movements can cause whiffs. I've come across a few that seem unhittable though.
Is that a hack too they do seem a tad fast when moving up close and seem to know what I'm gonna do before I do.
I suppose they could simply be immune and all the movement is a cover to make it seem like a miss.
I play both sides more than I used to and nothing makes me toxic or bothers me apart from cheating.
-
@Shroompy said:

The hacks for the most part are actually pretty limited from what I can tell, and majority of the time are very easy to spot when you have experience.
also it aint that hard to hit a blind even when the killers moving
I don't know about now but I have seen with my own eyes someone jumping like a flea into the sky. People crawling super fast. They are more like unlimited you only have to look up videos. Subtle cheaters is a thing too.
I'm experienced enough. I know you can blind when moving but the whole point of topic was how fast it was happening.
If it were as easy as it was for these guys then it would happen more often. In fact I wouldn't bother playing.
For now they are going down as using hacks in my book and I will record anything else I find fishy or blatant.
I'm not going to become paranoid as from what I have seen cheating is less than it was 8 months ago before i took a break.
-
@Laurie268 said:
It’s possible that 2 survivors were blinding you at the same time and you just didn’t see them because of bad fov
You know all sorts of hacks exist in this game right? You get low lifes buying them. I wasn't standing still looking in the same direction so I don't really think possible without at least autoaim.
I know part of a blind lingers for a while but honestly no way you can hit a moving target that well.
-
@HugTechLover said:
Odd bulb with the spooky event bulb is near instant blind. It’s probably not hacks.
They had regular add ons. One even only had a yellow torch. I had a pair in one game so that was not fun.
Luckily I already maxed out pips so I wasn't raging or anything. I even ran weaker perks to have a rest from gen defence didn't care if I lost.
It's funny I thought wow I have a hardcore swf here just when I wanted to take foot off the gas. Then things got sketchy.
I used to do reports before but it's kind of a drag sending clips etc.. I will do it again I just hope it's not needed too often.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
If survivors are blinding you as quick as old insta-blind used to then they're definitely hacking.
Flashlights are not capable of doing that anymore.
Yeah I thought as much. They moved a bit fast as well.
Nevermind haven't seen as many cheats as like 8 months ago.
-
Dude there are subtle cheaters out there still. Sure there are good swf and loopers but If everything seems too perfect for them it's a dead give away.
Not subtle ones too. I got a last 4k hit on someone last night. They kept springing back up so i downed them over and over. The game disconnected me and I got no bp. Like what BHVR.
-
Currently feels like the +100% BP which is mostly on killer for me is a compensation payment for suffering and not a means to balance the lobby.
6 Months ago I didn't mind SWF I had some hard games I still won and ones I didn't I would say there wasn't much I could do.
Lately I say the latter more often than not. I could play with stronger killers but some of them I just don't find fun.
-
@Xernoton said:
If anyone of your teammates has all boons and sets one up, then all survivors survivors in that area get the effects. Did your teammates have any boons?
I didn't check but other guy said it's normal. I can't believe it really they must hate killers these devs. I play both sides.
-
@wydyadoit said:
no. if a player used boon perks they can have up to 4 boons on the same totem. all boons are applied to the same totem.
Thanks for letting me know. Thats crazy really.
-
I've come back after 6 months and can't say I'm impressed with the DH sprint burst lol.
I'm rusty so might adjust to baiting it better but what has got on my nerves is when someone does it close range I can't see the flash.
I look to the ground thinking I downed them and poof they are gone. Make a noise notification for god sake.
Also have got it mixed up with BT at times. Would it be hard to make it flash a different colour.

I've never gotten any feedback that any of my tickets I've submitted have ever been addressed, so I just gave up on submitting tickets. Adding rewards doesn't matter if they don't address tickets.
I have had replies but it's their policy to not tell you the result of any investigation.
I don't know why that is. Perhaps privacy gone mad.
-
I'm not saying things shouldn't be changed.
Making 4 people unhappy who are trying to make me miserable is satisfying sometimes albeit still with a high stress level.
Once I max badge I don't care so much about how it goes.
I'm not giving max all the time for this game it's too demanding.
-
I posted about this. I can barely play that map as killer in daytime without shutting curtains.
I played as survivor yesterday and it looked fine but matches as killer have crushed blacks even in basement which makes no sense to the lighting aspect.
I don't know if it's a variation that was fine or it being survivor.
As killer I went down basement and the corner around bottom of stairs was totally black.
As survivor it looked normal.
As you were survivor maybe the issue is just with some variations. I would say 1 is fine and 2 are wrong (Crushed blacks).
I'm going to take screens next time I get a chance.
-
If you don't like it so much use BL. Some loops are so strong a killer would never catch up otherwise.
-
Play it out and learn from mistakes.
Rather than blame stuff on killer or noobs. Everyone was a noob at some point.
I have probably quit about 3 killer games out of thousands. I'm not ashamed of those SWF after SWF can get to anyone.
Never quit as a solo survivor.
You get such babies play this game. They get hooked once and DC.
Have a bad game big deal move on to the next. It isn't broadcast on national television.
No one cares.
I have dominated another online game before for a year 1/2 even beating out cheaters in a leaderboard. Until hackers.
It didn't change my life!
Just try and have fun and if you can't play something else. What does a DC get you exactly apart from a rep for being a poor sport?
-
Depending on the map and approach Trapper can sometimes be brutal.
Add on's help and you might be required to camp sometimes.
Against a rampant swf maybe not so much fun. I don't think I'm a bad player just because I sometimes get rolled with a weaker killer.
I like variety over being able to stomp as much as possible I guess.
