This is just a game you will forget about it i just keep my chill when i go against that type of stuff and wait for them to make mistakes if they do i get the w if they dont i get the l and i'm fine with that

Generally that's the way I look at it too. My internet cut off last night and I lost 2 pips when nearly ranking up.

They were bang in trouble that game too. Annoying.

See how tomorrow goes. More of the same then I take a break and wait for an update.

  • @eaebree said:

Well bro cant win them all 👊

I have had a tough night and this was the last straw!

Every game today has been a sweat.

I don't expect it to be easy but it's been a nightmare.

Even games I got a 3k was no fun.

  • I did slug but they crawled apart in tall grass.

  • @GannTM said:

I got a 4k recently against a team like that. Is it annoying? Yes. But it’s far from OP.

So what does that prove? You downed them by hooks and I didn't. Shall I tell them to get downed by hooks next time?

  • I don't know why but all 6+ games i have had tonight have been a sweat fest?

Using different killers all the same type of games. Either very good solo's or SWF.

I even 3k one game and didn't enjoy it.

DH & COH are really annoying me too much now.

Could you make it any easier for them?

  • If I tried a new build/killer and or just didn't want to sweat.

I would fully expect abuse in chat because I'm iri 1.

You can't assume people have brain cells.

  • Getting bullied in chat being a grade 1 who just wanted to chill and not sweat or try new builds or killer.

    No thanks.

  • Plenty other things unfair in the game.

  • It's as cheap as they come.

Sure sometimes they mess it up and it can be baited in the open but when they gain the distance to another loop it takes valuable time from the killer.

Like how many times do I have to mindgame someone just for a down.

It's that bad how did it even get released is my question?

  • @Ula said:

I'm afraid what Bhvr is most likely to do to fix the chat toxicity is to make it exactly like dbd mobile's: you can only use stickers or predefined messages such as "GG". I'm not a huge fan of that, but I won't be against it if that helps.

GG only appears as a choice if you win I take it. lol

Otherwise it be silence or abuse so wonder what stickers there will be for that.

You can't have an "opinion" on how many swf you face lol. It's a definitive number. I've been accused of being in an swf many times when survivors played well (and sometimes when we didn't) and yet I only play solo.

Same customs cloths or similar names is a bit of a giveaway and that's just for starters.

  • Great video lol

It's a shame I don't have Bubba to vent sometimes.

  • I keep hearing the word punish etc..

Stealth survivor mains are out in droves.

Not even open to testing any solutions.

    I wonder why.

I mean I could always play Hag so you have no fun whatsoever.

Probably neither will I though from it being too easy.

Anyway I'm done talking about this.

It's not my job to fix the game.

    Enjoy your voice Ch(e)at.

Because the first games your Rating will be around the same like your usual rating. It would not be fair if you would start at the lowest rating and it would completley clock the low SBMM-Matchmaking when a new Killer is released.

Oh that makes sense. Rough though!

  • How do I get matched with good survivors in my first 4 games ever playing as Trickster? Your MMR is trash. Put it in the bin.

I doubt it, but my main point is that it's bad to take something away from SWFs, better to balance by giving than taking.

And I'm not questioning your badassery, to be a happy solo player means you're probably tough as nails. But it's accepted as truth that the game is particularly hard on you guys, specifically because of SWFs.

I don't mind SWFs at all, but just because you and I are able to overcome the imbalance, doesn't make it fair, especially to newer players. A few exrtra BP isn't unreasonable.

Extra BP won't cut it for having an unfair game for me personally.

I have fun against some swf other times it's just BS even if I made no mistakes.

  • @BubbaDredge said:

It would be better if it went the other way. Solos and killers should have an extra perk slot when dealing with SWF. Communication is at least as valuable as a perk, but hamstringing SWFs isn't the answer.

Personally, I just think I should get a BP bonus to make up for their extra power.

Well yeah would take more work though and making new UI. Would they do that?

I play solo and do alright with 4 usually depending on team.

You could argue communication is like having many extra perks not just one each.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

You can't punish people for having fun with their friends. Ridiculous.

So it isn't fun having a fairer game? Killers fun doesn't matter?

I play Killer, Solo and Swf actually.

But me and 6-7 of my friends specifically bought this game to play together, because it was advertised you could play with friends;cross platform. The game is marketed for teamplay . Marketed for playing with friends. SWFs have become an integral part of this game BECAUSE of BHVRs marketing. It's up to the devs to find a fair way to bridge the gap between SWFs and soloq, and fix balance issues for killers.

But they are not going to turn off swf lobbies. And the aren't going to punish or attack people who play with friends, who bought the game after watching a commercial that said they could play with friends.

There is a difference between play with friends and ch(e)at with friends though?

Do they advertise voice chat? No because you need a 3rd party app for that.

They need to find a solution.

  • @Nathan13 said:

People need to stop these ridiculous suggestions that SWF should have some sort of penalty.

Why so you continue to have an advantage the game wasn't designed around? Play Killer before no one else does would be my suggestion.

  • @Valik said:

It may have been a brash reaction - but overall, I understand where you're coming from.

Bad matches as survivor - or in general with other games - can be a bit frustrating, but nothing too major. Usually it's a bad teammate or a lame glitch, maybe a mistake I wish didn't happen... the usual gamer stuff.

When killer matches are bad, I curse Behavior for not following through on Game Design 101, or at least doing their due diligence with updates.

I'd be a lot more forgiving towards their painfully slow pace of production, AND the game as a whole, if they actually tweaked perks and reworked systems to make the game less demanding and frustrating.

I've never felt truly HELPLESS as a survivor. Sure, some games killers can be scummy. But never HELPLESS.

As killer, there are many - MANY times that I feel completely and utterly HELPLESS to catch and stop survivors. Especially when I take off-meta builds.

    True this!

  • Yes this exists and some think they are very clever with it. Bloodlust level 3 going around in a circle and gain no ground = hacker.

Shame it wastes a lot of time doing this though but if it gets evidence then it's worth the loss.

They adjust speed to get the pallet stun. Sad people.

Short bursts of speed are perks usually of course.

I had someone double jumping in the sky not long ago like mario.

I would go to hit them and then ping they would jump like a flea.

Another survivor stood still pointing at them while I shook my head.

I think they wanted out so I hooked them.

I somehow downed the flea probably by luck trying to get a hook save.

I bet someone has never been so happy watching on a hook.

They then instant escaped just before time ran out.

I actually play both sides equally, I've hit irid one on both teams. You judge awfully fast, the world isn't black and white m'dude. This post is about punishing SWFs for existing, I'm not gonna put an essay on how I think every killer should be strengthened here, my statement is valid without homework. I've gone indepth on those topics on other posts.

The devs should have realized people would do voice chat externally with no built in option.

That's why things like discord exist.

You could claim online build guides are unfair too, they aren't a built in part of the game and help people do better in matches. You want to punish anyone who read they should run a DH DS build on Eurogamer?

You can't punish something like that, not from a business standpoint (because SWFs are a huge chunk of the player base) nor a technical one (no way to prove it, and would be reported everytime a killer lost)

You made no announcement of a solution for killer was my point. I have done both iri before it's not all that much of a judge of skill.

  • @The_Krapper said:

You're not facing only swf you're just paranoid.

At least a pair of swf in almost every game IMO. Thats not so much of a problem its the 3 and 4 if they are good and come with a plan.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2895237#Comment_2895237

People will always want to talk with their friends while playing. If that wasn't the case, Discord wouldn't exist now would it?

Not having built in voice chat was an oversight of the devs, because it could have been utilized by perks and hexes had it been built into the game.

As for the how? The devs are already exploring means of having the survivors current actions being shown to eachother in match, which will significantly bridge the gap between solo and swf without boosting swf abilities in any way. A gen symbol is meaningless to me if my friends tell me they are doing one, but makes a huge difference if I'm a solo debating going for the unhook.

They should also boost the rewards for survivors who are being camped and tunneled. Most of the anger that comes about it is because survivors are actively punished by that playstyle, with depips and low BP. if it's a legitimate playstyle, survivors should be rewarded significantly more BOLD points for being tunneled, more OBJECTIVE for being camped, and more points for skill checks while in second phase. People would be way less pissy about dying early if they still accomplished something in the match.

So you don't play killer? You said it yourself it wasn't designed around voice chat but here we are.

Solution for killers then apart from them not play, sweat every game, hard camp or only play the strongest killers at all times?

  • At least this is something that could be easily tested and implemented. I'm also not seeing many better suggestions.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You can't punish people for playing with their friends, which is something the game is literally marketed for. Instead they need to buff soloQ so there is less of a gap, then buff killers appropriately.

How then? The game doesn't come with voice chat though does it.

  • As it should be yes. If you have played against swf with a variety of killers at a high level you know why this is reasonable.

  • It should match them with fellow bad losers. So they destroy their own fun and not others.

That's not always the case so it should have a threshold of course.

  • Corrupt should be basekit on less mobile killers.

  • Remove players that don't use offerings first lol

  • @Awkweird said:

You HAVE to use gen slow perks. You can't jjust ignore that part of the game. That's why the gens are flying and your games are 10 mins long.

And before you say "ruin gets found in 15 secs" "pop is a waste of time"- Some games they are useless but more often they turn it in your favour like the totem giving you downs from patrolling it or ruin just staying up the whole giving massive regression.

My favorite right now is the pain resonance with ruin. Pain tells you which gen they're working on better than tinker.

I use pop and pain a lot as they are the best I have.

I hate hex's I'm busy enough chasing and defending gens to patrol those too.

Comms arent even the issue. Its that the maps are too big to traverse and the game turns into walking simulator with constant resets.

Well I will agree to disagree. I can't be bothered to explain all the times I know they have changed a game.

Yeah map size is an issue for some killers even with stacked regression perks.

Valik, this response here is a very good example of the kind of mindset I'm talking about regarding how the game should be played.

You've made a bunch of assumptions about how this person plays based on what to me seems like a pretty reasonable assessment of what you were saying. While they did take a lil dig at the idea of complaining about camping and tunneling "I yawn at these word" its not really directed at you personally, but your reply indicates you kinda took it as such. You come back with a bunch of assumptions about them as a gamer and then go for a personal attack over answering their point.

Now its an online forum its all fair game, I take the piss plenty out of people too but can you see how its quite relevant to this topic. You appear to take a lot of personal offense to things you don't like in game and if you want to do that its up to you. But you can't expect to impose your version of fun on someone else and call anything else toxic as a result.

This rigid set of made up rules of gameplay is what leads to a lot of misuse of the report system. Taking this subjective view of things and applying it to match making isn't a great idea.

I'd say keep MMR a results based and reward people for props with bonus BP's or shards. Maybe larger bonuses if opponents give each other props. Its kind of like a reverse party streamers. Post game lets give everyone a bit extra with props because it was a good game.

Yeah I didn't mean to offend anyone. It's just hearing it over and over.

You get blamed for it when they heal right in front of you. lol

They never blame themselves only you no matter if they played crap.

Even the best streamers do it when they need to.

  • Furriness overload. I so miss our old dog Tramp RIP

  • @Vampwire said:

Normally, I don't get too tilted at DBD. But today has been miserable. All matches were over in less than 10 minutes. Everyone had DH. At least one COH. At least two beefy medkit/toolboxes. And, of course, some big map was in play to make mobility a pain.

I played Deathslinger, Nemesis, and Plague. All pretty decent killers. Normally I don't run many regression perks or none at all. I kept retrying for almost 2 hours hoping for better matches. But every single one sucked.

I don't mind losing as long as I can play the game and have a few good chases. But as I said these matches were just over so fast. It felt like I walked at people the entire match. Even when I sent a map offering, it didn't matter. Gens still kept flying. People were constantly so far away that by the time I reached them my power was already about to expire or I lost another gen.

I just don't understand what I'm suppose to do? I can't tag survivors because they'll just heal up in 10 seconds. I can't commit for too long or else the gens are gone. But if I don't commit then I have no pressure. I've been told before that if I play a killer with strong chase tools that people aren't going to try to loop. But what's going to stop them from doing that if I play an m1 killer? It feels like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. Because even if I play a less strong killer; those tactics are stronger because I can't kill them as easily once I do catch up.

Another inconvenience has been the amount of de-sync. While this may be just my own hardware failing, it doesn't make it much better. I've been stunned through pallets that I was already the whole way through, hit people then get stunned a second later, have my Deathslinger chain broken in 2 seconds when in the open, rubberband backwards and get looped longer, and a multitude of other problems pop up from it.

It feels like I literally just can't win. And I don't know how to fix these problems or how I could possibly play better. Maybe if I were a robot and made not a single mistake I could win.

Sometimes you just can't do enough. Even making no mistakes doesn't help. I swear it's these people with comms completely messing this games balance up.

Some maps there are too many pallets and vaults for certain killers unless you pick the right perks/add on's.

I can't think of many time's the perks I picked for survivor made a lot of difference depending on what map I was on.

Apart from balanced landing I suppose.

  • @Valik said:

Admirable, but I believe there are more eloquent solutions than cutting off limbs to make the body less crooked.

Fair enough then what would you suggest to combat the unfair advantage SWF with comms have? The impact to solo queue survivors must also be considered.

  • @HelloKitty2022 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2893444#Comment_2893444

TBH i liked SWF for the team factor. But i realized how unfair it is against solo survs and esp. against killers. I doubt if one less perk would be enought. At the same time you should buff solo survs with BT and Kindred as base kit for example.

On the other hand when do we have a swf? Only when they are 4 mates? 3 Mates? Or even 2 groups with 2 mates? Maybe one perk less for everyone who is in a swf.

Anyone who has joined someone's lobby was my idea. Yeah solo's should probably get BT at the very least. You do get some randoms that play well together though so I dunno.

  • @HelloKitty2022 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2893420#Comment_2893420

The problem is to balance SWF, Solo AND Killer. I came to conclusion its better separate Solo and SWF. And then we see which one will be more successful. I am pretty sure most killers will prefer to play with solo random slightly buffed survs. And some SWF have to play killer against SWF. Taking their own medicine will probably enlighten them ;)

Well SWF wouldn't get many games most probably. I don't mind some SWF games but sometimes it's just too highly stacked.

They come in with a plan with perks to match the roles they take on. At least with one less perk each they would be more limited.

I had one SWF with 2 flashlight players with boil over, flip-flop, unbreakable and DS. One of the others was also a sabo. The other was just a gen jockey. I managed to kill one which was hugely satisfying.

  • @HelloKitty2022 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2893401#Comment_2893401

Thats an option. But the voice chat is really powerful. I know it since i played swf some time too.

I know it's highly annoying. This wouldn't be a full solution but I think BHVR should try it at least.

  • How about SWF get one less perk slot each. They don't need aura perks with comms so that's one extra perk they have each right now.

  • Mostly SWF thinking they are playing a fair game using comms.

It's clear the game wasn't designed to be played that way. Hence aura perks which they no longer need and can fill with other controversial perks like DH or Boons.

  • I have heard swf communicating on youtube. If you think that has no unfair advantage lol

  • @Moxie said:

Everyone is asking for voice chat... I really don't understand why.

Sure, some people would use it as intended. Others would spam racist obscenities or just simply play troll "Benny Hill" music at max volume.

They just need "Doing gens" indicators and stuff so a Solo and SWF aren't running to a hook rescue at the same time. Simple.

Any videos been made with Benny Hill music? The thought is hilarious.

  • I have read one of the emblems before. The hook one I think it says hook 9 times for gold.

I have done more than that and got silver. No minus scores included.

Tell me you don't play killer without telling me you don't play killer.

    Also.

Tell me you don't have profound reading comprehension without - why am I even bothering, you're clearly not reading this right now.

You're making an overt generalization to 'win' on a specific example. Why am I wasting my time.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2892908#Comment_2892908

Tunneling is all about the instance.

First off - if it's been a hot 5 seconds, you're not tunneling off of hook.

If you're forgoing injuring teammates and bulldozing to get to the unhooked survivor - yeah, you're tunneling. And, honestly, the game should probably slap you across the wrist.

If your prime example of apex killer gameplay is placing a survivor on a hook within 30 seconds of their ally unhooking them, that's not just pitiful, it's reckless.

Also - if you're making the judgement call to chainsaw someone to the ground as they are pulled off hook and put them back on there, BT and DS be damned... then you should probably be willing to eat the -600 BP fine. You're walking away with thousands, you can't take 600 off the top?

And that 600 won't be a big deal if you just DONT keep doing that all the time.

It's seldom that the person being unhooked is the greatest priority in the match bar none - especially with the perks in play with the meta where it is.

You try swinging for the unhooked survivor - you ready to eat BT, DH, DS, or another flashlight save? You realize that it's more efficient to kill momentum if you hit the unhooker, right? You're getting a health state without having to worry about the 3 most common perks working against you.

The fact is I don't care for any made up rules.

I could make a bunch of rules for them but would they care?

  • @Valik said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2892693#Comment_2892693

Okay, so you have said that the following things are NOT toxic:

    ~

Killer tunneling, killer face-camping, killer kebabbing, Killer 4 slugging, Killer disconnecting after the first couple of chases.

Survivor leading chase to unsuspecting allies, survivor hook bombs, survivors that hostage the game to taunt, survivor assisting the killer, survivor disconnecting after first chase.

Players that accrue several complaints over a long period of time.

    ~

You are saying that these things are NOT toxic.

    To be clear.

You do NOT think that the ABOVE things qualify as TOXIC behavior?

Camping, tunneling and slugging are sometimes viable strategies against SWF using comms. They don't always work anyway if the team is good.

You deem it toxic trying to kill people as a killer?

Yeah against soloq it can be unfair if your team is rubbish. It's not the killers fault either if your team is rubbish or didn't bring BT or DS.

    I yawn at these words!

I understand there are exceptions when a killer can do one hit downs all the time around a hook. They should fix that.

Even then just do gens and get out.

Doesn't make a fun game but then neither does a comm squad for killer.

  • It's just an excuse for more toxicity showing badges.

As long as I get my bonus BP I don't care.

I could be a noob at one killer but it shows me as top grade I got with another. Roll on the abuse.

Not that I care one jot anymore BTW.

Grade's achieved as survivor rely somewhat on your team so what's the point of them either.

I only suspected one subtle speed hacker yesterday which is a lot less than normal too. Touch wood.
