  • Eh Yes and no.....Current Nurse no since all blinks are basic attacks so she can chain downs with exposed status.

But if all but the first blink was a basic then it would be fine because she couldn't chain downs.

While true, out in the open, its unlikely to happen, high wall loops quite possible though. Basically my point is, she still has access to basic attacks, even with her blinks being balanced to count as m2 attacks

Not even at wall loops a Survivor could lap her around the loop. Without at least stage one lust she cant hope to catch a Survivor in the open or at loops. But since most loops have LoS blockers then she won't get even t1 Lust.

But you can mindgame a survivor at a loop and hit them normally, which would still be a basic attack

Not with her base speed being slower than a survivor. A Survivor could easily leave her in the dust while she tries to mind game

  • Yes but if you take away all basic attacks from her blinks you will have to increase her base speed so she can perform basic attacks. That's why most players agree that all blinks after first will be considered special attacks while the first blink will stay as a basic attack

Lets be real, calls for Nurse Nerfs won't stop until she's loopable. Then survivors will move on to the next thing they find "unfun" or "Boring to play against". So the blight will definitely be next on the chopping block

Tbh they won't rest until all are as weak as Trapper and I actually saw that as a reason when I first joined the forums. But using a professional streamer as a example is bad form because a professional streamer will have at least x3 the amount of playtime than your average gamer.

It's at the top of the possible causes for me as well.

The game hasn't changed much and my playstyle hasn't either. I didn't notice much changes in mid MMR (I'm kind of average as survivor) so I can only imagine the "perpeutal camping/rage-quits" are in low MMR, exactly where a new killer would be. Add to that that the killer queues are slightly longer and the survivor ones slightly shorter : it fits nicely.

Also are we back to the confusion of Proxy camping and Face camping again....I hope not because those discussions tire me out.

Ahhh so my theory of Survivors moving to Killer are part of the increase of camping and tunneling issues

  • @SuzuKR said:

The double standards are absolutely hilarious.

BHVR nerfs one single perk with a note alluding to her and other killers given the pluralized description, and this is suddenly "this single killer is holding back perk balance".

But buffing 17 perks that are good or insane on her and releasing 40 perks that are okay, great, or insane on her while never once changing her or stating she is an issue is… inconvenient to remember, I guess.

BHVR nerfing other perks due to other killers having problematic interactions with it is… also inconvenient to remember, I guess.

And what makes it even funnier is it’s over a perk that logically isn’t good on anyone, even Nurse. You can start 0m from the Nurse and exit the range before the pickup animation can even finish, meaning she can’t even look around or move yet till you’re already gone.

And if you’re in a corner or somewhere you can’t do that, all it takes is hopping into a locker for a little bit till they hook and leave. Even with Starstruck, unless they have Infectious/good game sense/saw you physically or scratch marks or whatever, that would remove AA spotting you, which would also mean Nurse wouldn’t have an immediate target to laser with Starstruck either. And even besides Starstruck/Infectious/AA/etc, survivors should be split up against Nurse regardless anyways.

I find it more funny everyone is screaming for a Nurse Nerf wait I'm sorry a Freddy style Nerf to Nurse over....2 secs....

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3149077#Comment_3149077

I was vehemently against the Thana nerf because the perk rewarded killers for injuring multiple people, not camping or tunneling. Legion and Plague don't suddenly become unbeatable just because the games lasted a bit longer. Nothing stopped the survivors from bringing toolboxes or Prove Thyself to speed up the gens, or bring Counterforce if the killer also brought Pentimento.

Yes, Nurse is the problem, not every perk that has to be changed just because she exists. Awakened Awareness was the one that broke the camel's back, because I was also vehemently against pre-nerf Hangman's back on the old Deathslinger ptb getting nerfed, and now that we finally got something similar, it has to suffer the same fate. Killer's aura reading perks suck. If you're gonna make a perk that can let you only see survivors' auras when you're carrying someone, at least give it a benefit like having a big range or have a 2-second lingering effect.

Killer nerfs/reworks that were necessary have been few and far between, but the most glaring candidate of all, y'all don't want to do it.

Seriously over 2 secs...that's all Nurses fault...the Thanta Nerf was because of Legion and Vommy Mommy because they could easily injure or Perma injure the survivors, Nurse did cause that. Same goes for this change, there are multiple other Killers that could easily abuse that 2 secs of info and use Starstruck to quickly down survivors.

Oh and if everyone is so worried there is a easy fix....make every attack after first blink a special attack.

This is incorrect. Each survivor wins individually by escaping. If your team escapes while you die, your survivor score (MMR) goes down because you lost. You can consider a win all survivors making it out, but BHVR doesn’t recognize it that way. And honestly, their definition is really the only one that counts.

Huh then my mistake I think I was thinking of the change they want to do to it tbh.

  • @Biscuits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3147056#Comment_3147056

I don't consider it a win because you can literally hide all game as survivor and escape from hatch or gate for free. It takes skill to get a full team out, it takes being bad to get only yourself out.

Oh I agree but I was just stating what the Devs have said lmao. So our Opinion and how MMR works are aligned lmao.

  • @cyniChris said:

To go into more detail, tunneling is intentionally focusing on one survivor and chasing them repeatedly until they're dead, ignoring any other survivors in your path.

It's often the best play to get someone out of the game ASAP and make the rest of the game easier, or if you're down to 1 or 2 gens left and you need a kill to slow the game down.

Whether survivors like it or not, it will always be a strong tactic - even if the game gets balanced around the killer being able to get 12 hooks without doing it. If anything, balancing the game in such a way will just make tunneling stronger.

It's not tunnelling if the survivor runs at you off hook (whether they want out of the game or they want to use their endurance effect to body block for their rescuer) or they just happen to bump into you shortly after being unhooked, nor is it tunneling when a survivor is unhooked while you're still close and their teammate hides. As much as the survivors will complain, you're not going out of your way to chase them in these instances - you're just not letting them go when they're right in front of you and it's the correct play to down them again.

See I have been using Forced Penance on alot of my Killers and Survivors have stopped body blocking for thier friends off hook and I have no idea why..... Muwhahahagaha 😈

  • @Kira4Evr said:

There is no surprise that Hag is way stronger than Trapper, even tho both are killers that put down traps. And I think it's pretty obvious why Hag is stronger than Trapper. But!

    • What if Trapper didn't have to walk around and pick up his traps? What if Trapper spawned with all his traps as Hag does? And if you pick a survivor out of a trap or if a trap gets disarmed, that trap will despawn so Trapper can use it again. Would that make him stronger than Hag or would he still be weaker?

And also! Personally, I prefer Hag over Trapper, but apparently people find Trapper more fun. Why is that?

Trapper would still be weaker because Grandma will always have her traps even when tripped.

But If the Trapper runs the Iri Addon that downs Survivors when they free themselves from traps and the Purple Addon that injured them when they disarm a trap then Trapper is very dangerous.

  • @Biscuits said:

I don't know about anyone else but I don't consider a solo escape as a win.

It's not a single escape is a loss for Survivors and a drop in MMR.

Escaping from the Hatch is not considered a Win or Loss but a draw and dosnt not affect MMR.

Distortion isn't bad, but I think there are better options.

    I generally run:

Windows of Opportunity. This often gets dismissed as a 'noob' perk, but I love it - I can tell, at a glance, which pallets are still up, which windows are open etc.

Circle of Healing. Still monstrously powerful. Self Care is sadly a new player trap now. I replace this with Built to Last if I bring a good medkit.

Empathy. I adore this perk, and find it almost as useful as Kindred. It helps me to set up saves, know where the killer is and find people who need healing.

Lithe. Always loved this perk. So few people run it on anyone but Feng, and it has wonderful synergy with WoO.

'Bad teammates' are unavoidable, but if you play aggressive you can often loop the killer for long enough to carry.

I run CoH, Shadow Step, Lithe, 4th is up in the air but usually Bot Knowledge or Windows.

This build helps me and my team but sadly I'm stuck in MMR hell because of DCers and Suiciders and Selfish Players who refuse to do Gens and hide most of the match.... strangely they have builds similar to OPs.....

  • @popoles said:

Before 1.9.0, Nurse couldn't "cancel" her blink. If you overcharged it, you had to teleport the whole distance. You couldn't look down or near the chased survivor to correct your blink.

And IMHO the fact, that you can mess up and still have a chance to correct it, makes her too easy.

(Keep the blink cooldown if needed, of course.)

Also, making her unable to look up to teleport to higher levels (like in Midwich and The Game) could make her not so powerful on these maps (she still could blink on these levels, just not go there directly from lower ones).

I feel like this could make her harder to master, while giving survivors more chances to mindgame her.

They allowed her to cancel her powers to put her in line with all the other Killers who could cancel their powers.

Yes it would make her harder to master but handicap her on multi level maps considerably, she already has trouble on those maps because the Player has to guess if they are blinking to the right spot. This will make her useless on those maps because her base movement speed is slower than Survivors. You would have to give her a major speed buff to compensate for making her unable to look up or down.

There are many ways to mind game her now as is just players refuse to learn them or use them because they think that the counter to her should be like all the other Killers.....

you can do gens in 45 seconds with prove thyself with no skill-check required. the average player using hyper focus is more likely to blow up gens then get actual progress from that perk. thinking about old hex:ruin and how many survivor at that time were just running around entire map looking for hex:ruin or failing consecutive skill-checks that was regressing gens for free. that perk made half of your survivor teammates completely useless. in those days, I remember having to do 5 generator solo while ruin staying up the entire game. what soloq experience....that was. Hyper focus is high skill perk that requires you be uninterrupted to on gen to get value out of it. the yd vod for ohmwrecker was him getting interrupted entire game and he was missing skill-checks which reset the perk. Like @OrangeBear said, its mostly fun meme perk.

i think some people might use it with self-care because it increases healing speed of self-care and you can 99% your healing with this is not happening sort of how some players 99% resilience. hyper focus might make self-care less of meme perk and more of serious healing option.

That's why Ohm was using it in combination with Stakeout....Yes he missed skill checks that reset it but he also was getting some back as greats which continued the bonus.

Also think of it this way, sometimes the game doesn't like to give skill checks. I had a Gen that I got to 50% with skill checks but after never got a single one. So if I made my last two skill checks as greats or if I had full stack of Stakeout and all the Skill checks were greats then I would have a free ride to a full Gen without worry of losing the bonus.

You definitely haven't been on the forum long. People are definitely asking for nerfs to prove thyself

To be honest no one ever ran it outside of new players on Dwight so it was looked over during the perk changes. Now players are realizing how they slept on a very powerful Repair speed perk.

Now with Rebecca's new perk coming out you pair that with stakeout, another survivor with Prove Thyself, and two tool boxes gens can be repaired between 30-40 secs depending on the slowdowns in play.

  • @Cameragosha said:

No but it needs a way to opt out of it for the Hooked survivor because of the chance of trolling Survivors.

  • @Star99er said:

I rarely ever got tunneled beforehand as it was never an effective strategy at higher MMR but I feel like ever since the mid chapter balance changes it's made things much worse. With how much more time it now takes survivors to complete Generators + DS Nerf + the base kit buffs killers got there's no longer an effective way to counter it this playstyle especially in Solo Queue. It's better for killers to eat OTR & DS and just keep tunneling because how slow the game is now. Literally almost every game either me or another survivor gets tunneled. Somethings needs to be done about this.

Alot of the influx of Campers and Tunnelers I believe are Survivors that moved over to Killer after patch.

Before patch I found a Camper/Tunnel maybe 1 out of 30 games but after patch I see a Camper/Tunneler 1 out of 10 games. They aren't new players either because they have t3 perks.

There's no way that many Killers would switch to Face Camping or Toxic Tunneling after patch without some kind of influx of new Killers albeit New players or Switched players.

But that's just my opinion because there is no real way to prove it unless BHVR has statistics that can show that.

  • Can't tell if that's a serious response or a sarcastic one but if it's serious....yes they do. They exist in more High Med to High MMR games and their soul purpose is to ruin the match for Survivors and Killers alike.

They sometimes Smurf themselves down to Low Med to Low MMR when they get bored but mostly target Content Creators and Fog Whispers more than regular players.

  • I only DC if I'm being held hostage from a hacker or if I get a phone call and can't focus on the match because it's worse to just sit afk in my opinion.

No half-decent Killer is going to kick a gen over chasing a Survivor.

Hyperfocus is insane if you hit your skill checks. A toolbox plus Stake Out with Hyperfocus can finish gens in half the normal time. That's insane.

Add a second survivor with Prove Thy Self

  • @OrangeBear said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3146663#Comment_3146663

I'd like to see a clip of that.

Also hyper focus is pretty much ONLY a good perk if you combine it with stake out. The average player can't hit great skill checks consistently.

Like I said it's like his last two videos I believe of the test server when he plays as Rebecca it's fairly strong and yea I agree with you that casual players may not be able to make the skill checks but Steakout makes it alot easier. I can make greats alot as long as Lullaby or Doc isn't in play

  • Pulsar you should watch some of Ohmwrecker's last few yt videos when he played as Rebecca he showed how good that perk is

  • @OrangeBear said:

I am sick of survivor perks always being garbage.

Reassuarance is good yes, but it's just another band aid fix to an issue that makes you unimaginably angry when playing survivor.

Hyperfocus is not particularly useful, it's just fun. That's okay. But Low Profile and Reactive Healing are very weak because there effects are so weak and unnoticeable.

Hyper focus is a powerful perk especially if you combined it with the one perk from the pig dlc that turns good skill checks into greats. I watched Ohmwrecker using that combo and got a Gen done in about 40 secs 35 secs if someone had Prove they self on the Gen as well and that's not with tool boxes

Also I don't use Shadowborn, but does it actually give that as a disadvantage with the added FOV?

Yes the wider FoV also widens the blind area of killers. So don't use it if you see clickers in the group

There are walls and windows that allow the flashlight to shine through and the Killer can still get blinded. The issue is that the Box spawns Chains and Pinhead will immediately aggro to the Box. He will chase you and get a 100% confirmed Chain Hunt.

If he intercepts you, he gets Chain Hunt.

If nobody goes for it, he gets Chain Hunt.

Plus, the Box is still ######### bugged. It will spawn Chains way after you begin solving it. I've had them spawn when I'm halfway done with it. That can literally be the difference between winning and losing.

Ok then the holder needs to be immune to the chain hunt so they can solve it I totally agree with that tbh and I see your point as well.

All my experiences were nobody but me would try and go for it causing it but the chains made it impossible even after the pause in chains

How do you propose we make Pinhead more bearable for Solo Q? At least they're trying to come up with ideas.

I had three last night. Every single match was miserable. I would rather nerf his Chain Hunt and buff his Possessed Chain.

Really though it comes down to communication. If players let chain hunt happen it means no one was going for the box before it started or are chickens about solving it and aggroing the Killer.

Tbh Chain Hunt shouldn't affect the solver but wasn't that how it was before and people were holding it hostage or something like that. I can't remember what the issue was with it in the beginning.

Since we have this thread going… Has any one else noticed a significant increase in Pinhead finding the box at game start? I have found that about 50% of my matches vs pinhead start this way lately, whereas it used to be maybe 5%? My assumption is that there is a trick to figuring out where the box spawns at game start that has gone public, just like there are patterns to where survivors usually spawn… maybe I’m wrong… but if others have noticed this lately, maybe I’m right… thanks…

The box spawn mechanic is kinda easy to read and guess where it will spawn first.

The box spawns the furthest point away from both Pin Head. So if the Killer uses Leathal Pursuer that cuts alot of the guess work out, then they can use the item that causes all the survivors to spawn together which allows them to zero in on the proper area.

Same goes with Pyramid Head's Cages too. I can guess with about a 90% certainty where the cage will spawn. Once you learn the mechanics it's not hard to figure out.

1 … 17 18 19 20 21 … 55
