I'm a Doctor main. And I'm sure most people know how stressful it is being a Doctor. Double shifts, drama with co-workers, those pesky ethical limitations, the works. So, sometimes, I like to just go to my basement and chill after a hard day of kil- treating people.

Specially if there's a mysterious chest there. Because who doesn't love a good mystery?

Now, I know that this is mostly a Bubba thing, but I argue that electric shocks can be just as effective as chainsaws in defending a chest.

But before I go off in a long, elaborate essay about the liberating feeling that comes with being alone in a basement with a locked box and four sinister meathooks, let me ask something.

Some guys have been threatening (*gasp!*) to report me for trolling just because I was minding my own business in the basement. I wasn't even AFK, either. After all, I need to be alert to protect the precious chest. Nor was I holding the game hostage in any way, as all the Survivors could leave whenever they wanted. Not my fault if they choose to come to MY chest and end up hooked thanks to a NOED.

So, is there any merit to those threats/reports? Is defending the most important chest in the game bannable? Are we going to shame a man just because he likes to stay by himself in a basement with his precious chest and zap the hell out of anyone who comes near them? In 2021?

Okay, now that I got that out of my chest, I'm going back to defending the basement one. But I would really appreciate your input on this, because I'm a law-abiding psychopatic Killer and don't want to be doing anything illegal.

    Thanks!

Not reportable if you just meme,

It's only reportable if you block someone in a corner for all eternity (Which never happens unless you kill all 3 and then trap the last one in a corner)

They're talkin' out their ass for the reports,

I like the idea of boons as it now makes totems an interesting mechanic that both roles can utilize, but I don't necessarily think they're that OP.

I hear people mentioning how up to 4 players can run the same boon, but wouldn't this also give survivors the "second objective" that killers have always been proposing? Yes, killers can go out of their way to snuff them out, but totems are typically located in obvious spots and it only takes a second or so to do so. The counterargument to this is specific maps/buildings, but hey, that's the dev's issue. I also don't think killers HAVE TO snuff them out unless they have the extra time to do so. I've played killer and still downed survivors when they were affected by the Shadow Step boon and vice versa when playing survivor. (since CoH is currently disabled)

Do I think boons are perfect the way they are? NO.

I think there's still some room for improvement, but I think people are exaggerating a bit when they imagine the idea of 4 people running boons. On paper, it sounds so good, but it's not always going to perform smoothly when executed. It takes time for the survivor to locate an optimal totem spot and then take 14-24 seconds to bless it which is time that they're not on generators which I'll take any day. Boon perks will also take up a perk slot so that means less chance of seeing the meta-driven perks that I don't even have to mention bc we all know what they are. Tying back to what I just said, boon perks should shift the meta which I think is a good thing. Do you want to see the same 4 perks at high-rank games?

I'm still cool if the devs decide to toy with the boons a bit and maybe lessen the leniency with them, but I wouldn't agree on making them a one-use perk. A lot of totems are easy to spot and as mentioned earlier, survivors blessing a totem are survivors who aren't on generators which equals less progression on their side. Combine that with injured survivors who may want to heal or need to unhook a fellow ally, that's an in-game slowdown for the killer.

With the two boons, we have now, I think a fair adjustment that can be made is to reduce the numerical values of Boon: Circle of Healing. 90/95/100% healing boost feels generous considering it offers the ability to heal yourself without outside assistance so kicking it down to 40/45/50% (or lower) seems more reasonable. The devs could also toy with the time it takes to bless totems and I'd be cool with that too.

This is my personal opinion on boons and it may seem bias since my role ratio (S/K) is 55/45, but I just wanted to voice what I felt about boons. I'm all for changes, but I just hope this won't be another Mettle of Man situation.

    Edit: Typo

Boons are op as it stands..

Sloppy butcher doesn't affect the healing from boons..

when a perk beats another perk.. that's bad game design..

I honestly dont understand what the fuss is about COH being OP. I played 3 games as killer and still 4k each game with multiple survivors having COH. Just FYI, I dont play killer, and I still 4k with this supposed god tier perk. Even as a survivor the perk isnt OP because killers still very easily can get 3k - 4k. I swear any new thing that releases is immediatly called OP if somebody doesnt like it. Boon: COH is fine the way it is.

Before if you pressed deadhead at the correct time, and dodged it, sometimes you would still be downed because the killers game didn't register that you dodged before their side registered that they hit you.

Now I believe the game synchs better and you don't sometimes succeed and sometimes fail for hitting it at the right time, but succeed if you timed the move appropriately.

Also Slinger is still fun to play as killer +shrug+ not sure why you're struggling, but he was hardly nerfed. They weakened and empowered him at the same time.

Also Slinger is still fun to play as killer +shrug+ not sure why you're struggling, but he was hardly nerfed. They weakened and empowered him at the same time.

    That's already a fuggin' lie, He's dead..

if you never played slinger BEFORE the update, you don't have the actual knowledge to see how decent / good he was,

  • i've been playing the game for 5 ish years,

i have no sense of fun in dbd anymore..

Absolutely atrocious patch. Equal to or worse than the Resident Evil patch. I'm getting terrible desync in 90% of my games so survivor is mostly unplayable and killer is 100% unplayable. I think this is the straw that broke the camel's back and pushed me from somebody who wants to see them improve to somebody who just wants to see them fail.

The Desync is only happening on Macmillan, No other map..

  • @Hoodied said:

Slinger is jank now, Spirit wasn't really damaged by her nerf and was really buffed with her add-ons, infinite loading screens that makes me curious on why we can't get multiple PTBs before launch instead of one, map offerings are disabled but not the maps in general for some reason, 2 out of 3 of Mikaela's perks have bugged with them (Circle of Healing and Clairvoyance), Video Tape is still bugged out of the PTB, desync is so bad that my status effects for Haste and Hindered are delayed for kicking pumpkins, we have had absolutely no sign about if we are getting an Anti-Cheat that actually works, Billy is somehow bugged to where Apex Muffler can completely remove his chainsaw sound without the need to be under oblivious (Which is pretty annoying), Bubba has been bugged for WAY too long, the event music can be heard through the survivor theme, resulted in a really weird combination of music playing

After every PTB I am 100% positive that no testing by the QA team are done after things are changed from the PTB to check for bugs as alot of these bugs are super consistent and no way in hell were not found in the test after the build was tested to see if it was ready to launch into live, because this ain't it chief

There isn't any tests...they said screw the pc players..

They don't want pc players to demand nerfs out the bat due to the fact that Console doesn't even have a chance to play said Ptb..

So now we have to wait EXACTLY two weeks before a patch is released to FIX these issues, Some bs if ye ask me..

    @The_C12H15NO2 said:

The new patch results just solidify my belief that this game has too much technical debt and BHVR commits 99% of their resources into producing content and not enough into QA. With so much technical debt, each patch will have more game breaking bugs. But as always, if the players keep buying they won't change.

QA? on this game? Must be dreaming when i see these words, I don't even think they have a QA at all..

And we're the QA in general.. but we don't get priority..

Yeah, that's what I figured- slightly harder but fundamentally the same character, and it sounds like his stealth playstyles are fully intact so he'll be more than playable.

Pretty much everything else is just a net positive though, the game's in a super healthy spot (save, again, for the bugs lol)

Now we just need to Rebuff piggy, Revert the Nerfs on Billy / Slinger, Fix totem spawns.

(Get rid of boon totems) and last but not least

GET RID OF LINKED COSMETICS FFS,

    • DC penalty removed, so every game where I'm got getting roflstomped and teabagged all the way to a 4-out by sweaty SWF smurf groups with 2000 hours to my 150, I'm dealing with 2+ DCs the second I down someone.
    • Uncleanse-able boons are just maddening.
    • RPD after RPD after RPD after Haddonfield after RPD after RPD. Never have I hated any map more than RPD.
    • Two killers (Wraith and Deathslinger), one of which I really liked, nerfed into oblivion despite being mid-tier at best.
    • Almost every game has at least one moment where I'm thinking 'wait, is someone hacking?'.

I had two hackers (or more) today,..

had both RPD and Haddonfield... hated life,

And what are the best Basement Perks in your opinion?

Bubba is the king of basement,

  • @JohnWeak said:

Dear fellow friends, we all know that the game balance is terrible at the moment and that's impossible to win a trial properly without camping and tunneling at high MMR.

But i want to tell you that we are also responsible of this situation 😐️. Indeed, using cheap mechanics as camping and tunneling just to get our wins (3k+) or to secure a draw (2k) is a terrible idea as statistics are artificially tweaked to 2k average doing so.

So here is what we HAVE TO do :

    • Start a trial keeping in mind that you cannot win against survivors at your real MMR level
    • Never camp nor tunnel
    • Do not use NOED
    • Play fair no matter what and try to get as many hooks as possible
    • If you have the choice between a fresh survivor or a survivor that has already been hooked, go for the fresh one
    • Accept to loose 80%+ of your trials

This will result in terrible stats and show how unbalanced the game is. If the average kills is between 0,8 and 1,2, BHVR will see how terrible is the killer's experience and that they have to fix the balance.

ATM, we, the killer community, are comforting the devs in their idea that the game is pretty balanced as it is (50% kill rate).

If we continue to camp and tunnel to get our usual 2k+, we will have to stick with this garbage game design for years as the developers will never hear our voice.

If as a killer you want BETTER and FUNNIER trials, start to loose most of them and play as the game should be played : patrolling gens and chasing survivors.

DO NOT CAMP, DO NOT TUNNEL.

    Yeaaah....say that about survivors dude,

They don't care about Killer's fun nor will even want to,

Trust me. i tried this multiple times and it just Doesn't Work...

  • @[Deleted User] said:

From what I see, people dislike the system mainly because of how it was built, like the win condition and what it tracks to measure the skill of the survivor (or killer).

Not that I agree with all this, but to be straight forward, this is I think the main reason.

    Or you know...

The fact that you have to play high Mmr like it's comp,

So of course people are gunna hate it when you have to play it like that back to back to back, Multiple times a day..

I always was against Mmr, even in dbd... and now it's just shows that it hurts to play this than it does anything else

He is not unplayable for being bad killer.

He still has better 1v1 than most killers, so he is far from worst killer in dbd, but it just sucks to play him now. It's not fun, it's torture.

He has limitations other killers don't, he has a terrible mechanic (ADS) that other killers don't, which changes FOV and sensitivity, which you can't adjust.

He is unplayable, because he is bad and it just feels bad to do it.

I want quick-scope from my Rifle, I play FPS games a lot, so I was good at it. There is no reason for me to play him without it. He is objectively worse Huntress, well he always was, but now he is even worse than before and he also feels worse to play as.

I play bad killers, I enjoy Pig, Legion, Trapper, because they have fun aspects, Deathslinger doesn't anymore.

    ...He is unplayable,

Even as a former slinger main.. i refuse to touch him, they killed him here and there,

Clown's in a crappy position where he's somehow really boring and unfun to play against as a Survivor, yet simultaneously severely underpowered and not viable to play as.

There's no interactivity between his power and the Survivor in a chase. It's literally just 'throw down gas in a loop so the Survivor is forced to drop it sooner then normal'. Boring.

The introduction of his Afterpiece Antidote helped spice things up a bit, but not nearly enough because its usually not worth using it over his Tonic.

He falls into the same category of 'weak AND boring' that I'd personally put Legion and old Trickster in.

TL;DR - He doesn't need a nerf, he's already one of the weakest Killers in the game, but he does need some sort of power rework that actually makes him enjoyable to play as and against.

Active Clown Player Here: His Antidote is Really slept on by Players.. Nobody even uses it properly in his Toolkit and it can Really make a difference in a chase, I don't even use slowdown on clown and can still manage (Somewhat) It's just how you use the bottles..

I tried blood favour a few times on legion, I liked it at first but then people started running from the tiles that get blocked off. I ended up dropping it because it started to do less and less the more people faced it.

Then I realized Legion's cooldown after exiting their power is 4 seconds. Survivors run 4m/s, so that means they can get 16m away from you after a frenzy hit. Therefore it will take you, if they run in a perfectly straight line, ~27 seconds to catch up to them again (16 / [4.6 - 4.0]). That's longer than blood favor lasts, and is more than enough time to get to a new set of tiles anyway.

    TLDR:

Blood favor is decent, but if survivors know to run to another tile it does literally nothing. Use with caution, decent for a surprise down early though if they're not attentive.

Run Cold dirt + Susie's mix tape, you'll recover from feral frenzy so quick.

...i believe it's Susie's mix tape. might be wrong though

These are the newest reworks and added things to the game I looked through them and removed ones that were reworks or a change of rarity. And found 7 things they changed that were not in favor of the killers.

Also it should be mentioned that not a single survivor got buffed! Some of the names of the items perks ect have been changed but not a single buff! I don't play as survivor alot but as a killer main I can nearly always get a 4k without camping tunneling or needing of underhanded tactics. It's sad af to see all those buffs given to killers and they are still so bad at the game they have to come here and complain or camp and tunnel... These are not nerfs!

Ight.. now les see this in action against good survivors...

Bet you won't get more than three hooks by the time the 5th gen is done lol

People overreact and he's gonna be fine. I'm sure the terror radius nerf will do more than anything else and they're now missing shots so they focus on that and complain he's weak now. He got a SLIGHT delay to when he can shoot and its hardly even a delay you just can't shoot before a survivor can see you aim like before. He can still do all the other stuff he's good at and known for. With a normal terror radius

Tell me you're not a Slinger player / main, Without Telling me You're a Slinger player / main,

I would suggest that you stop playing my friend as it seems like the train of stupid decisions isn't stopping especially as of recent

i've already thought of stop playing.. i just needa figure out which other game i'd rather go play and stream it of course...

  • Pfh..

i'd rather deal with sweat survivors rn than to deal with hackers atm..

i'm up to versing 9 hackers in less than a day... A DAY,

in bout all the matches i played, i've had 8 yesterday, and just one today in my first match...

Okay, let me explain what this is going to be.

I’m starting a series where I’m going to be looking at each and every unused perk in the game and offering suggestions and changes to these perks. I will be suggesting 3 different ideas for these: 2 buffs/ minor changes and one complete rework with the same idea.

Please feel free to add your own suggestions as I will be changing and editing my suggestions if someone else suggests an idea I like or something the community likes more than my idea.

I’m going to be starting with survivor perks so if you want me to do any specific one first please let me know!

there's alot of perks to fix..

Better get some coffee and bagels. it'll be awhile..

Because, what is the purpose of playing and buying new killers, if I am going to live in constant fear of them being nerfed out of nowhere? The game was already unfair enough for killers and now i also have to worry that my main (which i bought with real money) will be nerfed because survivors finding it unfair, im done with this game.

Bhvr basically stole money from us.

    I dunno bout yall but.

I'ma make slinger more annoying to face now with a new build due to the terror radius buff >=3

Dead Hard also works incredibly well and consistently against 2/3 top killers. You can dead hard into blight/nurse on reaction to avoid hits. Blight can sometimes bait it out with extra rushes but if the survivor dead hards into a spot where another rush wont reach or if blight is out of rushes it doesn't matter still.

    Cause dh op...

it's literally the top perk used in any Sbmm / fuggin Comp scene..

    needs nurf
