nah this society is only criticizing because they can. it's called entitled. like all zoomers
So if a person like me gets served a burnt steak at a restaurant which he paid 18€ for he should shut up because he can't cook and never worked in his life?
Some seriously flawed logic right there.

Agree. And since campers and tunnelers are so common, why DS and BT are not basekit too?
Sure, I'd give weaker versions of DS and BT to survivors too, I'd even pack camraderie basekit too if the game were more balanced like for example killers not losing momentum during loops so they actually keep their 115% ms, no red stain during chase and all maps being way smaller so holding W doesn't become a new meta.

The EGC is a step forward for sure, does not mean the hatch is not a poor design.
There are better solutions to "end game quicker" without giving the bigger advantage to survivors, don't you agree?
To be honest I said, the hatch needs to be here or the game would be even more toxic, it would just be nice if the killers got something similar to it.

Can Killers stop qqing about the hatch already?
So, where's the killer-type hatch mechanic? Where's a killer's consolation prize in case he ######### up? All of the stuff that WOULD be a consolation Prize for Killers (Rancor without aura reading during match ofc, NOED maybe in a weaker form like a short bloodlust and 1hit till you hit 1 surv) is gated behind Perks.

DBD has the crows for inactive players also.....
inactive in a sense that in Identity they HAVE to do gens or crows will come. In DbD you could literally hide forever without EVER doing the objective as long as you keep moving or crouching.

Hello, I am a killer player. I would prefer hatch to be in tha game than not be. And it is an unfair mechanic for both sides.
Survivors usually have no way of escaping if the hatch is closed, since door spawns are terrible and patrolling them is easy. The killer doesn't even have to work for their kill, they just have to slap the survivor if they get too close to a door and give them a hold-W chase. Easiest kill in DBD.
You really need perspective.
It's not an unfair mechanic for both sides, you as a killer literally have no reason to want a hatch ingame (fairness and empathy are not reasons)
KIllers already worked for the kill by killing the 3 other survivors, ######### are you talking about.

Actually most killers love that the hatch exist. You know why? Because if there was no hatch, the last survivor would literally just play hide and seek because they have no chance of winning. Why the hell would they attempt to do gens if there's 3 gens remaining and everyone is dead?
The hatch prevents a neverending match
In identity V crows alert inactive survivors, also if the survivor would not be doing his objective (gens) then it would be considered holding the game hostage as 2 survivors already can do this and it's bannable.

Go for it, I'm all for using the report button. I just don't get the point of letting some salty words after a match eat at you to the point that you come to the forums to cry about it. There are plenty of options besides just reporting them. You can block them on your system of choice. You can close chat, and you can also just choose to end the game and move on with your day. I sometimes screen shot the salt and send it to my friends to laugh at how butt hurt they got over a game. But sure it would be kind of nice to see that the person you reported got banned. Though chances are the moment you left the lobby you probably will never run into them again to even be able to see if they are still playing.
I usually bait racist stuff (saying I'm black works like a charm, no I'm not black) and then report for hatespeech, stalk their steamprofile and then have a laugh. I banned DOZENS of accounts in World of Warcraft this way until GM's started checking my chatlogs to see that I was bullshitting them to bait a response.
If I closed chat then I might as well play a singleplayergame.

Oh and this should be a bottom priority imo, I can think of like ten other things that should be fixed or looked at instead of someone said mean things to me on the internet! Get them BHVR!
Or you know, if you insult me I'll report you and even tho I don't care if some poor lonely sod insults me, I love the feeling of getting somebody banned and having them actually be upset because they cannot play anymore. I wish this game notified me of every ban, league of legends does it.

Actually, hatch isn't some big survivor-sided mechanic, it's just RNG. If the survivor finds it first, it's a free escape. If the killer finds it first, it's a free kill. Neither are comparable to the atrocious second-chance meta or the idiocy that is NOED.
Uh yeah, ask killer players if they want the hatch or if they'd give it up, then come again how the hatch is a free kill ROFL. Good luck to the survivor on finishing gens alone without a hatch, THAT would be basically a free kill.
The only reason why killerplayers would want the hatch to exist is because the game would be ######### dead without it.

Lol with his reasoning after all gens are done the game should end, you've not killed everyone, you've lost :P
It's hard talking to people who lack in basic logical thinking. The game is over once the survivors escaped or died, if 3 people are dead the last guy doesn't stand a chance to finish a gen on his own unless the killer is an absolute potato, that's why the hatch is there. Yet killers have no built in mechanic that is similar to the hatch, you ######### up as killer and it's over.
If the game was actually harsh on survivors hatch would still only spawn if enough gens are done and survivors who are doing nothing but hiding all game would be revealed with crows similar to identity V.
The hatch by design cannot be killersided, it's there so the last survivor still has a chance to escape, it was literally made so survivors could have their pitty win in case they got crushed. Without it he'd just die unless it's one of those rare situations where you're on the last gen and finishing it as your last teammate dies.

What does being able to kill someone with something have to do with the argument being presented? Nice straw man argument attempt.
Let me break it down even more since you seem to be misinterpreting something I'm saying (either purposefully or you're just dense)
Person A and Person B are both in a race to find the same thing.
Person A has a bike. Person B is walking. Who has the better chance of reaching the destination first?
Let's add to that.
Person A has a weapon in their hands and is actively trying to kill Person B. Person B still has to get to the thing before Person A but they also have to avoid person A and not die. Who has the better chance of reaching the destination first?
Nothing I'm saying is controversial or complicated. Basic math and common sense is why hatch spawn is inherently killer favored.
hatch shouldn't be a thing in the first place. You lost, your team is dead.
-
@RakimSockem said:
lol what?
That's not even comparable. NOED gives a speedboost to a killer who is already by default, faster than the survivor. And that's not taking into account Cloaked Wraith, Phasing Spirit, Chainsaw running Billy, or Blinking Nurse
Hatch is a killer favored mechanic unless the survivor already knows where it is. If both players are searching for it, the faster character (the Killer) has RNG in their favor.
That's not even including the fact that the survivor has to hide if the killer is near them so they don't get found. The killer just needs to circle the map with no fear
hatch is a killer favoured design LOL, you heard it here now folks. Wake me up when I can kill survivors by using the hatch.

Most survivors survivors don't cleanse all totems - to their detriment. I would like more for them to do in game personally. But they usually do gens and GTFO.

It's probably because their powers take time to reach that level. Hillbilly has tank controls while using his chainsaw, Myers and Ghostface need to stalk Survivors to a certain degree to get the Exposed status, etc. NOED just makes it so they don't need to bother with their power and just hit the attack button.
ALso Windows deny hillbilly's power and can be used to force an M1.

You used marth88 to validate your point. But I can't?
I know the pain of being 'genrushed' I mostly play killer myself - especially with low tier killers. I rather see changes like early game EGC, than them giving us perks to counter game issues.
Even then I will maintain if you need NOED then you are playing with a defeatist attitude, because you are already resigned yourself to not be able to stop gens popping. As Scott Jund said in one of his recent videos, our job as a killer is to defend gens not get kills (i.e. don't tunnel and lose the game).
How wrong do you want to be? So marth88 has a defiatist attitude?
Nah, I play with the attitude that I don't even need perks most of the time, especially if I'm in the mood of dodging SWFs, for one of those 10 games where ppl could actually escape then there's NOED. That's not a defiatist attitude at all rofl, I'm confident that I will be able to play the trial with 3 perks.
NOED does not help you at all if you do not pressure the survivors enough, if they have time to cleanse totems then noed is countered.
Scottjund makes some suggestions that would straight up kill the game by the way with his "everybody could become a skilled player" attitude that is far from reality. Most people don't give a ######### about becoming better.

I see NOED far more at lower ranks than at higher ranks. Good killers don't generally need the perk, plenty of streamers talk about it negatively on both sides.
NOED also promotes tunneling and camping too, because the consequence of tunneling is usually throwing the game but with NOED you can afford to do that.
I just don't like the design of it - it doesn't feel rewarding. Neither do I like DS for the same reason.
Streamers are not authority figures on balance so I really don't care about their opinions. Good killers know that all 5 gens will pop unless the survivors screw up, the game is literally designed this way. NOED is literally there to make survivors do bones just by it's sheer presence.
Imagine if there was no NOED and survivors who play to escape actually just sat on gens not doing bones or anything, good luck. Be glad that NOED exists even if you don't use it.

I personally don't like it (neither do I like DS).
Marth88 doesn't even need it because he is one of the best killers I have seen. My point was for those who rely on it and don't get better at the game.
Those that rely on old RUIN also never got better at the game then.
Those that rely on Pop also dont get better at the game.
Those that rely on killer powers also don't get better at the game.
Aside from the fact that it's pretty cringe trying to become "Better" at a game that is the equivalent of candy-crush amongst gamers.
-
@Sinister0208 said:
It is. Tbh its a waste of a slot most of time - it doesn't improve you as a player. Only see its value for endgame/meme builds.
Marth88 uses it and he's really strong, by that sentiment you shouldn't use perks in general as all are crutches in the first place. NOED is the only powerful perks that killers have in case they actually need a perk to actually turn a match around.

Which is why I and many others suggest bringing solos up to SWF level and then buff killers and then balance around the now stable survivor power level.
Just getting additional BP for facing SWF is not satisfactory. They can abuse mechanics of the game, and all you get is BP? It would have to be substantial to even be plausible. Like full anniversary stacks (x500)
I can't think of many ways to bring up solos to SWF level without also buffing SWF.
Display Gens somewhere on the HUD to show genprogress if a survivor is working on it
Buckle up should be standard and not a perk.
Kindred basekit but that would also heavily buff SWF with knowledge of what the killer does after unhooking and where the other survivors are etc etc.
That's all I can think of
-
@coppersly said:

If the only downside is other people who aren't in SWF... that should highlight just how powerful SWF is over solos and how solos should be either brought up to SWF level or nerf hammer SWF.
Playing with friends is understandable and fine. The game was designed around solos and not being able to share information so freely. SWF completely shits on those design ideas and is a rampant problem in high elos because they can abuse mechanics.
You simply cannot nerf SWF without killing the game, only thing i want is more BP as killer for playing against them

While that is definitely a perfect example of just why SWF are too OP in DBD (and what keeps new players from sticking around to play Killer), he put too much emphasis on trying to slug when he should have been more focused on hooking.

"It doesn't mean I'm facing seal team 6 SWF every game but I do face SWF a lot."
Yes that is quite literally what I said. But even despite that you're still missing the point.
SWF is an unfair advantage over solos that comes with no downside whatsoever. It makes the game less enjoyable as a killer. It makes the game unbalanced for solos because they are considerably weaker.
There is a downside, solos will usually not play altruistic and derp the ######### around. It's rare that I get into a SWF that says "just leave me" unless there's a NOED that we can't find ofc. I probably even die more often while in SWF due to heavy skill disparities rather than in solo.
If solo redranks wanna play commando then they'll take a kinrdred with them and most you'll get is a 2k if they're playing correctly, the biggest info that SWF gives is against stealthkillers and which gens are being worked on.
I'd still love a perk that lets me see genprogress as a solosurvivor.

Well considering you're judging my anecdotal experience with only your own as a basis I don't think you have a point. There's no certain way to tell how many SWF either of us experience on average. All I can tell you is that I personally see SWF teams more often than not. It doesn't mean I'm facing seal team 6 SWF every game but I do face SWF a lot.
U see a 4man quite often on redranks yes, but that doesn't automatically mean they're sweating their ass off.
-
@Koukdw said:
It's not the perk it's the team. You use those perk in a solo match it sucks. Even on this video it's not very good if the survivor on this video were bad it would be 4k in 3mn. It's a meme build really. Very similar to head on. Powerful when you have your friend on discord. But otherwise too situational.
Even then it's a waste of time and it's usually better to just sit your ass on a gen instead of following around a teammate who MIGHT go down.
-

YOU might experience them rarely but I commonly go against them. It's probably more common to go against 2 SWF than it is against a full solo team in my experience. I can't blame survivors, if they can make a SWF that's free perks and powers for everyone involved with no downside.
I'm on EU where players usually are way more sweaty than on US and unless you play on korea then I'm gonna say you don't face them often as well.

4 man swat teams are not frustrating enough to keep me coming back. It does the opposite, it makes me want to never play again.
how often do you see those, maybe once every 20 games? You would probably not play any competitive online game then. How often does the matchmaker in for example league of legends screw you over heavily.
-
@coppersly said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1486820#Comment_1486820
Yes it's very common on these forums to use hyperbole. I won't say this is the best example but the point is still there: SWF is an unfair advantage that saps the fun out of the game for killers who have to put up with it and ruins the balance for solos because killers have to be able to contend with SWF which puts them above most solos.
It's an asymetric 4v1 game with different loadouts that gives access to items/addons that heavily tip the scale without the opposite side knowing if 1 is gonna sweat or not, this game will never be balanced nor is it made to be balanced, it's made to be fun or just frustrating enough to keep you playing. The only way to make this game balanced would be giving perks/loadouts different weighting into MMR and matching people accordingly which would be absolutely insane to program and result in ridiculous queues.
-
@coppersly said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1486223#Comment_1486223
Hopefully the new MMR system will put survivors up against more equally skilled killers. In that case the 4k unbeatable killers should become less common and percolate towards the top of the elo where the bullying survivors can easily handle whatever the killer dishes out.
There are far fewer "unbeatable" killers than there are toxic swat SWF.
still it's funny how the title of this thread is an "unbeatable SWF" which literally got beat (29k points and pip) by a suboptimally playing bubba on a really harsh map.
-
@madamretto said:
I'm not against SWF but I rarely see SWF who are just there to play the game, not to be sweaty, looping and clicking flashlights and making your game stressful as hell like their life depends on it. When me and my friend played together, we rarely escaped. We are not pros and were playing for fun. But now it's not about playing the game, it's about destroying the killer by taking the same perks, being toxic and teabag at the gate. Like Scott said, it's like you watch a cutscene where you always win. I mean I don't mind loosing because of my own mistakes but this... this is the whole new level.
Scott was talking about genrushing depipsquad tournamentplayers, he himself loves playing against memy-######### like this. Heck his last video was against a sabosquad and he had a ton of fun. Those guys were in no way toxic and you need to get your head out of your *** and stop thinking everything is made to feel you miserable. What he said also applies to killers who are sweating their balls off against people who are obviously memeing and having fun.
I played against a 4man Head on DS sabosquad with my freddy, know why I felt bad after? Cos they were meming and I was sweating my balls off, in the end it was a 4k with 4 gens left and they were good sports and told me they love me etc.

I probably would too, but that's because I'm frequently on Legion... and that SWF build seems like it would fall apart against Legion. Can't use For the People if everyone is already injured.
It would also fall apart on open maps where you cannot properly bodyblock for the guy who used for the people, they also BURNT through ressources on this map really fast because of the way they played, imagine doing that on for example dead dawg saloon, you'd be #########.
-
@FFirebrandd said:
How do you beat this?
Count to 8 or switch targets. Don't slug because you know they won't stay on the floor. Confirm your hooks because again... they won't stay on the floor and you have Pop. Lastly, on Hawkins especially don't let them get fantastic value out of the crazy amount of unsafe pallets by letting them stun you with them. There's way too much wood on that map to let the Survivors stun you.
Not going to deny that that is a pretty toxic build that SWF was running... especially with the Stypic Agents on top. It 100% was.
But he did not shift his tactics to deal with it. Even if you have to swing into Soul Guard because of body blocking... that person now has deep wound so they're less of a threat and have +50% speed so they are getting a ton of distance, which makes them the worst possible target... but at least twice, possibly 3 times he swung into Soul Guard then continued chasing that person instead of the person who used For the People who also goes down in 1 hit, is more of a threat because being broken means they have nothing better to do than Gens, and doesn't have +50% speed for 2 seconds.
I'd take that SWF build on as a killer any day over the regular, it's way more interactive and you get a ######### ton of bloodpoints.

It wasn't a heavily favored loadout and he wasn't playing like a buffoon even remotely. There are also a lot worse maps that he could've been placed on. He only got the 2k at the end because they greeded the door.
Letting a person as a bubba that is like 10 seconds near death get rescued by a guy you're speedboosting with m1 yourself is playing like a buffoon along with eating every damn palletstun on a map that is built around palletstuns since the pallets there are ridiculously unsafe.
How is that not playing bad, wow, the bar is pretty low here.
-
@Blueberry said:
Those perks are fine in solo queue but this is a good example of how busted they become in a coordinated SWF group.
This is counter intuitive to their design philosophy. They said themselves that they don't want to make changes or release perks that buff SWF solely. Those 2 perks are de facto those types of perks.
The team wasn't unbeatable and the killer made a few small mistakes, but that is still insanely unfun to face and extremely unlikely you will win.
Would we call that a fair game? I wouldn't
He literally got a 2k after playing like a buffoon on a map that heavily favoured this loadout. They would've gotten destroyed anywhere else where they can't bodyblock for the person using ftp.
I'd play against this any day over the standard survivor build with people just splitting up, sitting on gens and basically shitting them out.
-
He played really terrible and still got a 2k, how is it terrible, this wouldn't have been possible on an outdoor map where he could just slap the guy using FTP.
He could've easily 4k'd them if he didn't let them unhook the guy near death.
I'd rather talk about the what, 30 back to back to back pallets on some maps.

I won't really go into how several killers were better than him but he still got the nerf, but lets stick to the engravings. Below is a video of it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-dDtHBr7SI
Every single video here was a 1v1, there was interaction between billy and the survivor. The survivor messes up and gets too close, and hes punished for it, If he keeps his distance Billy will just waste his time revving. There isn't a time when a survivor got downed and said "Ok this was bullcrap it was unfair"
but billy is already fast.
Then why were these addons put in the game in the first place? The veteran devs knew they would change up the playstyle as shown above, new devs just gave a big fuck you and instead of even trying to vary them, they just nerfed them into the ground.
Awesome example of streamers having fun against billy who would if they weren't streaming totally not be pissed about wonky as ######### hits. And I bet the 99% of the playerbase who isn't playing this game for a living is having a ton of fun getting instadowned left and right by billy to the point where you'll basically just go for hooksave points and try to find the hatch.
Oh wait all that ######### is still possible and he still overperforms and is part of the top3 with second highest snowball potential just close to a god-nurse which is by far harder to play by the way.
-

Yes, windows and lockers are decent escapes against leatherface, which is good, I am not saying he does not have weaknesses. Good thing he has something, but pallet loops are a thing of the past, that's for sure. Running around the rock statement however does not make much sense. You are talking about bad Leatherface players who tend to often make such mistakes, against a good one who knows how to steer the chainsaw to not bump into objects, he can easily chase down around objects using the new chainsaw - I know because I have done it constantly with great success.
I would love to play against your LF, bubbamains who aren't just facecamping are usually very fun.
-
Played with a 3 person redrank SWF yesterday all with a full crutchperk loadout and we were all on deathhook by the time we escaped on the Oni-map. He got a 1k even tho we shat out gens without doing anything else and there were never 2 people on the ground, we also didn't heal.
Now you might ask, why is a 1k so strong?
He had speedlimiter and he got ran by me twice for more than 40 seconds while having no slowdown perks (BBQ, Nemesis, Pwyf but he never got it to work, NOED). A normal bubba would've absolutely crushed us hard even tho we did the "split up to win, we only play to escape" bs that nobody can deal with lol
It feels like you can only loop him on VERY certain tiles.

that's not the point, if survivors dont derp around and play commando (basically sit on gens), don't clump up, do middle gens first then gens WILL pop. Again, the game is balanced around a 50% killrate and a killer who plays fair will get maybe 2 kills if survivors don't ignore totems.
Also the NOED killer is basically playing with 3 perkslots all game long so he's weaker.

And the laziness of the killer to protect their gennys
The game is literally balanced around the gens being done mate.

I know there are lots of different factors that can influence them, but I think it mainly comes down to: In most cases, noed rewards you for losing, while adrenaline rewards you for winning
No matter how often the community tries to make this point, it's not true and the devs said it themselves. NOED is one of the perks that will be here to stay.

So let me understand:
In a 1v1 the survivor can't touch a generator because he dies. The only play is to hide and look for hatch.
Your solution is the following: if the survivor doesn't do a gen he gets crows so the killer knows where he is.
In conclusion, if he does a gen he dies, if he doesn't do a gen he dies. Would you also like a button that allows you to insta kill all 4 survivors if we are at it?
So the killer beat the survivor team and you and another teammate hold the game hostage as a survivor by not doing anything, should the killer just give up just because you are good at playing hide and seek which is btw not the objective of the game?

You mean aside from BHVR telling everyone it was just going to be an add on pass then adding the power bar that nobody wanted? They turned her add-ons into absolute trash. She now has what 3 or 4 okay add-ons. Adding a couple of seconds to her blinks because the power bar takes longer than the fatigue. All of which might have at least been okay with players if they hadn't also caused a bunch of bugs for her that still aren't fixed.
People on the forums are a vast minority. Personally I dc'd against any prenerf nurse just to make a point, many others did. She needed changing and she's still even after those heavy nerfs broken if somebody plays her perfect.
