Tunneling is actually the most effective strategy if done right. Most tunnelers do it wrong by only running after 1 guy and effectively ignoring the rest but if you focus on killing 1 person without giving up pressure by not hitting other survivors, not hooking others etc when you have the chance etc then tunneling is very effective since a 3 survivor match is way easier to handle.

ppl claim playing against freddy is boring but have "fun" against piggy who is basically just an M1 killer at it's core with mostly predictable chases.
-
If they fixed pallet looping the game would be way easier to balance but alas, they are afraid of survivors quitting over the change even tho mostly highrank survivors would be affected by this anyways (a brutally small minority) as most survivors either don't effectively loop pallets or don't loop them at all.
I'd rather have the maps be cluttered with visionblockers, defensive measures etc than running around a pallet 2 times, it's the most baffling thing in this game and makes playing it a joke sometimes.

Could you please explain then what the actual counterplay to freddy is?
Because staying awake doesn't really matter if you get pulled into the dream world anyway without freddy having to do anything for it.
(Not trying to sound rude,i'm just interested in your opinion)
Why does every killer need a counter in a 1v4 game where time pressure is on the killer?
His counter is doing the gens and getting out, use up the map ressources instead of hoarding each of the 20+ pallets and you're good to go. If your teammates decide to "play for fun" and the freddy takes it seriously then you lose, simple as that. I think it should be like this against more killers then maybe ppl would stop derping around and take the game more seriously.
Balancing the game around survivors not wanting to hold m1 is terrible gamedesign and just shows that the survivor main objective doesn't need to take more time but needs a complete overhaul.

Those who 'hate' Freddy either don't own him because he's a premium killer, and / or don't know how to play him therefore don't know how to play against him.
They basically function like this: "I wanna be able to abuse the same easy loops where a killer essentially has to get lucky to hit me (e.g mindgames against third person camera that is totally not in tthe favour of survivors who can cut corners better than killers due to hitboxes), against freddy I have to think where to go next and most likely take a hit unless I outplay him hard without running around resourceless for 40 seconds in a game where a single survivor objective takes only 80secs, nerf.

Freddy is how every killer should be, survivors should hate going against a killer, they should be afraid. Not think "oh cool, I'm gonna escape easily unless I screw up hard"
Freddy is the only killer in the game that has alot of control over how a match plays out as it should be in a 1v4 situation, not the other way around.

"a guy" who you talking about?
I do 4ks as wraith perkless, whats your point?
So? Every killer can 4k perkless if the survivors are absolute potatoes. Heck I never even got less than a 4k on old addonless freddy with no moris and no ruin till I reached rank 2, by your logic killers would be overtuned when in reality we just don't have enough ranks to differentiate between players.
"Killer X does 4kills in redrank" is never an argument in this game.

Just because someone streams a game for living doesn't automatically makes him a great player.
A guy getting 32+ 4ks in a row while crippling bubba with an addon is not good enough for you to be called a great player. A tournament winner is not good enough to be called a great player. Reminds me of ppl who call grandmaster players in league "bad" because they're "only" top 600
Otz is not the best but he is still better than 99% of the playerbase of this game, you cannot balance the killer role over the top 1% of the playerbase while being a top survivor basically just requires knowing when to do gens, knowing when to group up and when to save while lasting at least 30 seconds in a chase which is completely doable against most killers. I'm not saying survivor is unskilled but there's a point where good survivors get so strong that you cannot win, it's inherently flawed that the soloplayer often has to react to what the survivors are doing instead of being the active role especially during the many timewasters in many maps that are impossible to manage for most killers.

I have 4k hours on pc and since the rework of DS I'm totally fine with it.
Noob3 is a survivor main who has not much experience as killer. To me his opinion isn't valued high.
Monto isn't even good.
Otz is eating sometimes DS on purpose (he did it on me when I baited him to do it) and knows he will lose the game for it. He knows how to counter it but just doesn't do it sometimes.
Tru3 idk what to say about him, I haven't watched him for a long time. But back then it seemed like he is in his own bubble and doesn't accept or discuss any other options than his own. So they might be simply bias.
ppl who play this game for a living are not good enough for you, so basically anybody who doesn't main this game should shut up about an unfair mechanic but at the same time survivors can get crutches galore.
Sure it doesn't affect you as a "great killer" but the queuetimes and matchmaking putting redrank SWFs against yellow killers reflect that killers are not fun to play.

You know what my first thought was when i read the OPs posting?
"Nice, i want to know if he is streaming/youtubing or not, maybe i can learn a thing or two"
See the difference?
Others come here, post the possible opinion of some popular, mediocre to semi-good players that are even notorious for complaing about everything and because of that, people claim that it is a valid argument. How about learn from someone that has no problem with DS instead of beeing a sheep and repeat what a popular but not so strong player has to moan about?
About what you wrote in particluar:
I dont know if Scott or Marth (espcially Marth) are that strong players as you think, but Zubat is indeed a good player. But when you watch his stream, what do you see? He does not even try hard, and still gets the 4K. On top of that, i dont see him get stunned by DS a lot unless he wants to. Also i dont hear him moaning about DS or Unbreakable. He is just doing what every good player is doing: Slug the Survivor and create pressure.
I would not have a problem with some indication on which person you downed most recently, because it could become complicated if survivors all run the same character model. Other then that, DS is in a good spot. So.. good idea by your, no objection from em.
Lat but not least: Since many killer mains are complaining + seeing what devs are doing with the game currently, i dont have any doubt that DS is probably the next thing they will nerf, so i guess this topic will become obsolet in the near future anyway.
@ill_Boston_lli do you upload, if so whats your twitch or youtube?
Anybody who uses the term "sheep" is not worth my time so I'm not gonna read that.

And i dont believe you believe those guys you mentioned are actually good at the game. They are entertaining but none of them is really a very strong player. Maybe the OP is just better, which i can imagine if he really has over 6K hours.
I dont have that much hours on killer like the OP but i also almost never have a problem with DS. Like he said, just slug and you should be fine.
Scottjund is probably one of the best players in this game same goes for Zubat and Marth88 and all of them agree that DS's design is dumb. But then again I don't take their points for face value either since Scottjund some time ago on steam called palletlooping an exploit due to the broken hitboxes (which at the beginning it was but the devs basically left it in) and backtracked from that statement real fast after backlash and Marth isn't even actively playing anymore.
DS even scales off of how good a killer is, if you do not down people multiple times in a non-tunneling game within 60 seconds then yes, DS won't affect you but if you play like let's say for example Zubat or Scott then DS will hit you. Do they still win? I won't disagree with that but how many perks do killers have that basically give them free hookstates? One of the best perks that we have is Pop goes the weasel which sets back general survivor progress by maybe 10% AFTER you hooked somebody or perks like Haunted Grounds which often do nothing if the survivors are careful with it's activation (personally I only remove hextotems that I'm unsure of if the killer already wounded a survivor and is chasing him).
Just give the killer a tracker who got unhooked the last time (no timer just an indication), that person has a 30 second DS out of chase and that timer stops while being chased, if the killer downs him that timer also stops. If the survivor does anything during this time outside of running/vaulting/palletdropping etc then DS gets deactivated. Skillcheck becomes way easier and heck I'd even be ok with making this a passive that all survivors get to counter the rampant toxicity in highranks if killers got something to incentivize fairplay in return. Boom, easy fix.
But the devs don't want a game that is less frustrating afaik because frustration keeps you playing.
Aside from that I have less problems with DS, I think the vaultbuild needs to be looked at way more because it makes some mindgameable tiles WAY to safe.

Stopped reading when OP claimed that only 0.5% of players were 4man SWF metasquads, that is ABSOLUTELY not true for redranks at least not on PC, then again there's a reason why Consoleplayers are generally not taken seriously.
There's the simple fact that yes as a killer you will 4k most of the time if you play like a dick against survivors who want to have fun mostly but what kind of win is that? "I won against people not taking the game seriously while I sweat my ass off, gg"
Do you know when camping works? It doesn't work because the survivors are bad, it's because you are abusing the fact that the rest of the gameplay is a boring slug and you're essentially "that guy" in this partygame that almost nobody would ever play with again if they had the choice. Not saying OP does this but Suicidefox nodded towards this "tactic" and most of the time when you see killers who 4k all the time then it's people who basically abuse altruism.
Besides that, the fact that survivorperks in general are this strong while being so many is beyond ridiculous, if there were no perks in the game currently then killers would become stronger, let that sink in.
