So they removed the flick for Hillbilly but implemented the flick for Oni?

Makes no sense to me since Oni is already much easier to control and has more freedom with his sprint.

Thanks for the input, in future I will pay more attention to this.

No no no my man, Oni always had the flick. They've removed it once, then Oni was arguably on of the worst killers in the game, so he got it back, but as @Steel_Eyed sayd, it's sensitivity is really high, it's really not THAT easy to hit the flick, it took me a time to understand it and get that sweet sweet 90º hit.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

The Kanabo is highly sensitive when swinging. The community fought for this so Oni could do high degree flicks. Aim dressing walls is just a symptom of the flexibility of the flick.

My instinct is to tell Oni players to learn patience in moving during the flick.

Yeah, I know that the flick must be at least semi-perfect (if you flick and start "shaking" your mouse it has a better chance to hit BTW) but I'm talking about straight hits (not flicks) that still hits some object even though the survivor was in front of me, that's the kind of BS i'm facing rn

  • I'm biased but I must say that's Oni.

You need to earn his power through chases and hits and when you activate it you have 45s to use it (and if you insta-down someone you lose 7s), he's loopable and when he's on blood fury jungle gyms are you saving grace.

Besides that, he's not a "easy killer" to learn 'cause you need to know angles, the right time to dash and hit, the right time for holding M1 with the kanabo and, most important, you need to know how to select your chases, as long ones screw him up hard.

Realy ? then how can killer win example in Blood Lodge ? in the best version, u have 2-3 pallets on 1 gen, but its possible to win ? this is BullShi1 what are u talking about...

i dont say 2-3 pallets on 1 gen, i say minimum 1 pallet, because then its not deathzone...

pls take ur mainkiller glasses down ! think then write ! its then possible u can have 20-30 iq, and not ur normal 5iq...

Blood Lodge is literally one of the WORST maps to play as killer. I'm not saying that's impossible, but if tyou have 0 dead zones and survivors that know the basic of looping, it would be loop after loop (like blood lodge or most of farm maps that connects a jungle gym to a T-L wall, to cow tree to shack) so the killer would have no chance in winnig.

All it takes is ONE survivor that knows how to run a loop to destroy a killer nowadays, imagine if the map was just one loop interconnected.

But ok, you don't want to step back from your soapbox and probably doesn't even play killer at high ranks to know it (I'm rank 3 as survivor and 2 on killer, I play both sides equally and I know how to position myself as a survivor to not be on a dead zone if the killer is nearby) so go on.

The devs also said that they have been tracking matches in the background for weeks now. Why should the matchmaking now magically get better in the next days? If it does, then only because the devs make changes to the system.

And I'm also worried about new players getting driven away.

Yeah, Almo said here that the MMR calcs. has been running in the background but now some devs are telling a diffrent story.

Unfortunately all we have to do is hope that this will get better.

  • I think that the Devs stated on Twitter that the matchmaking is going bonkers for a few days before it gets better...

I agree with you and in the past few days I've either faced rank 20 (RanK dOeSN't mAtTer aNyMoRE comments incomming for sure) babies or rank 1 sweaty squads (some were SWF, some were just VERY GOOD 3K+ hours survivors) there were no in between, it was either a easy 4k or a sweated and shaking 2k with a depip anyway.

All we have is to hope that when the MMR calculations are properly done it would be at least more "fair" to play. I feel bad for babies (killer or survivors) who get sucked in a match against a veteran and it can (and probably will) hurt the new playerbase...

  • Ok, I'll go easy on you 'cause you seem new to the game.

We have (and need) dead zones 'cause if all the map was loopable (80 to 90% is I think) the killer would spend all his time breaking pallets and/or bloodlusting loops. The gens would fly (even more) and the games would almost always be 0k with the killer getting almost no BP.

Popular Killer Main Streamer: "The game is survivor sided, devs don't care about killers"

Popular Survivor Main Streamer: "Devs don't care about survivors at all"

Literally heard yesterday on Twitch. Wont name them.

When Goose, who's a killer main but plays mostly survivor as his viewers are heavily survivor mains, says that the game IS survivor sided but there's somethings that killers can do, I take in consideration. Most of the time "survivors streamers" are biased as a f. So you have to take that with a grain of salt. Most of killer streamers play both sides, with some exceptions.

  • If I see a Bubba in the start of the match (hear his chainsaw) I already know that's going to be a face camping game, so I sit on gens and rush the crap out of them.

Unfortunately face camping is the playstyle of 95 to 99% of the Bubbas I face, especially if they get a basement hook.

  • If you get bloodlust, most of the time you're overextending in a chase, wich is really bad for you (if you don't get a hit or a good pallet in 15s you're wasting time) so, bloodlust is actually a bad sign and not a very good game mechanic (it used to work back then, but now with gens speed it's just a warning to either drop the chase or get the hit ASAP)

  • If I got to second stage 'cause three of them were crouching in the other side of the map or two were doing it while one is being chased, YES.

  • @MrLimonka said:

The emblems are very stupid in this game. Instadowns hurt the chaser emblem, like you said - you can try using his no-power addon build - go to hawkins and equip Renjiro's glove and splintered hull. Basically you want to injure people a lot and then you can see them at any time thanks to the addons. Good luck

    No deviousness tho'.

Doctor, Freddy, Wraith (somewhat), I'm probably forgetting some killers, but these are easy to get merciless, 'cause they "check" every requirement for the emblem system...

  • I love how they say that hexes are "high risk and reward" perks, but with their "awesome" totem placement code running a Hex perk is almost a guaranteed wasted perk slot (Sallon, Midwich and some Yamaoka's configurations are good tho').

  • @PauloSell said:

I believe that's not just me, but many other players noticed a great change in the matter (auras). The entity colors are very bright and survivors' auras as well the killers' are faint, sometimes, depending on maps, they're not even visible. I believe that they should return as they were before, that's really annoying.

That's what he said, even though it wasn't a great explanation in portuguese as well...

  • aaa.png

Yeah, that must have been really fun to them. They did just one gen (it was Badham so I decided to just not patrol the school gen) so I let the last one alive get the hatch. That's really bad for new players and that's what the OP meant, I did 25k 'cause there were no chases, it was just power up, down, down, hook, repeat, even tho' in the last minutes I was just walking around collecting blood to get deviousness they did not got a single gen...

    That's sad, really sad.

I’m sorry but once again, you are not making a viable argument. No1 is talking about ppl deranking on purpose. Or rank reset. Everyone is clearly stating. Mmr or no mmr a new player should never be matched with somone who Has hours of gameplay, it don’t matter if they haven’t played the 10 games to get into the “ bracket” for it to work. Brown should never go agasint red. Skill or no skill, mmr or no mmr it Just don’t make Sense,

I can’t understand what you don’t understand about that considering you have “1000” hours in the game.

Unless you're playing Nurse, it really doesn't matter wich killer you're playing, as most of them translate the same (you can say that trapper and hag are "different" as they need to prepare the map), so, if you're high MMR with, say, Doctor, and decide to play as, lets say, clown, you'll probably do well, so yes, I'm with you, new players shouldn't be forced to face experienced players, no matter what the "MMR" says.

You went from rank 20's to Yellows and Greens so clearly it works. That means your skill level is where it's supposed to be.

Don't know if you really missed the point or just trolling, so I'll try to be more didactic.

In the "old" ranking system, I was facing mostly ranks 1 to 4, with some purples, so I was facing survivors equal to my killer rank and my skill level.

Now, in the new "MMR" system, I'm facing babies, game after game, it's not fair to THEM, and if it continues like this, it will, for sure, ruin the experience for new players.

As Almo said, they were "running" (or should, at least) the MMR calculations in the background but didn't bound matchmaking to it untill today, so I should be high MMR with my Oni, who I've been playing for at least 2 months in a row, these 2 months being in red ranks, but now I get matches mixed with rank 20, 14, 7 and 1, who're soloing, that's really bad for the ranks 20 and 14, who should be facing a low MMR killer.

How is that related to why killers are locked and survivors not?

You said "You will, like you probably have noticed since the change, not be able to see which killer you are facing (unless you are hacking)"

So I provided evidence that now that my Oni is locked, somehow survivors (suspiciously SWF) decided that calm spirit is meta so they're running it. 3 of them, the only ones who weren't running it were the poor solo survivors. Not suspicious at all.

  • The DESIGN is perfect, and much more accurate. The brightness tho'. That's really bad.

  • @Blueberry said:

Here's the funny part, hypothetically they could have made up the entire thing about releasing a new MMR matchmaking system and literally just left the matchmaking to be in its current bad state and you would have no idea because it's hidden.

I don't think so. In the "older" rank system I got paired with purples and reds (I'm a rank 3 killer). Now I get greys and greens in my games (who're solo, I've checked their steam) so, the system is already worst then before. "Pretty good job so far".

  • @Desh said:

Ranks don't matter with new MMR.

So you are telling me that when I, a rank 3 killer, get paired with rank 20 potatoes newbies survivors, it doesn't matter? 'k bye. The MMR system is already botched and full of crap. Even though I'm still playing Oni (I've been playing him on red ranks for about 2 months, so my "MMR" should be high) I now get paired with greys, yellows and greens, even with the f. up rank system before that kind of crap didn't happen (unless it was red ranks SWF with greys).

  • I main Oni as a killer 'cause BAM BAM!!!!

survivor I play anyone who I'm feeling that day 'cause they're just re-skins. I do however like playing female survivors 'cause they look nimbler then male, but it's just psychological BS.

Well, you would be locking their loadout too if survivor loadout gets locked. Or do you have another proposal?

I really don't see any problem on locking solo or SWF loadout, I've never swaped surivor or my perks before the match starts, just items and offerings. It really doesn't affect the gameplay. There's really no harm on locking survivors.

That has nothing to do with fairness or whatever. Just not sure about your responses because they are a bit vauge and misunderstandable. Killer ranking is unique per killer, that means, when you ready up with a killer, you will get a lobby for exactly this killer. It apparently was technically too difficult to solve it in another way than locking the killer. I thought about when you ready up as Wraith, you get a Wraith game, no matter what kIller you have selected when the heartbeat starts 5 seconds before the game starts. But that might also be confusing to newer players, why they suddenly get another killer than they have currently selected.

So killers have a technical reason to be locked (not yet, but as soon as MMR is available on all systems). And this is not relevant for survivors.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505726#Comment_1505726

You will, like you probably have noticed since the change, not be able to see which killer you are facing (unless you are hacking)

I've got 3 matches with SWF using calm spirit (the three of them) wich we all know isn't even close to be a meta perk, but rather a niche perk, against my Oni (who's obviously running infectious) so...

  • 'Cause we know that the solo survivors are the problem right?

  • @BillyMain77 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1503838#Comment_1503838

Wouldnt be any point in locking survivors lobby since all survivors are technically all mechanically the same.

But survivors loadout aren't. They should lock it untill the "log issue" is solved, so that some, not all, but some survivors can't build accordingly to the killer that they'll face.

  • If it was a new exploit, ok, shame on the players, but it's a well known issue that the devs are aware, that's why so many killers in red ranks did last second swaps. It's not that EVERY survivor will go out of his way to use it, but most sweaty survivors or comps almost always will. One calm spirit it's ok, but it's really shady when it's 3 in the game and the 3 are SWF (I always check the steams). It takes only one of them to use it for all of them to know what they should be running to counter the killer

Watch what you say about devs. Certain mods are power hungry.

Yeah, Ikr, but the community was saying that this ######### would happen a month before killer locking in the lobby. They just don't gave a single f. Now It's happening, pretty fun to play as a killer when you're high mmr so besides you gettin' all the sweaty swf to play against, now they can bring all the perks to counter you >:D

  • @Talmeer said:

Is it actually so easy? Thought before survs would need a third party programm for it.

There's a section in the log files that loads the skins that are being used (base as well) so you can "guess" what killer is being load to the game.

Unfortunately there's another one that completely removes your power for the rest of the game

Pretty good job so far it seems...

  • They said they'll fix it next patch. I'm a main Oni, so I'm suffering from it too. You can get out of the bug by injuring a healthy survivor, but it's really annoying if you don't find one right away.

  • A solo survivor with Unbreakable is ok, as he's either using it or just getting the 35% faster recovery to a random pick him up. A team with 4 unbreakables (usually will have DS too) can turn the game so badly that it isn't even close to fair.

Slugging IS the most optimal thing to do besides tunneling, and guess what, killers can't even do that because unbreakable AND soulguard (god forbid you use a hex and someone has soulguard, it'll be unbreakables and BT forever in your game, especially if it is ruin and the survivors just don't cleanse it 'cause, you know, ruin is so weak that you need constant pressure on all 7 gens to get a value out of it).

Yeah, unbreakable should have a requirement or a downside to its use.

  • DS + Unbreakable + ProveThyself, the dude got to rank 1 gen rushing and using all the crutches possible. So sad. It's a miracle that he didn't brought a key or a green/purple toolbox with BNP, but I guess the key user was his teammate.

It is a character to hide in closets by default, flashlights do not go well with him.

Kinda adds to the "player lore" right? "Dwight, aka Dwitty Pooh, is so affraid of the killer that, when he's inside the Killer's TR, his arm will go numb, preventing him from trying risky flashlight saves".

  • It's a Dwight bug, it's been around for sometime now, I hope the devs fix it soon, poor baby dwitt =/

  • I know how frustrating this rainbow matchmaking can be. I've been paired with red rank survivors since I got rank 15 as killer, and it really sucked ass, but I've learned my way, now I don't really care if I'll be paired with red ranks SWF survivors, but soloQ survivor can't really mess you up if you get, like you said, teammates 10 ranks lesser than you... But still man, they're really trying to improve, I've some rants about how they treat the community, yes, but you can't say that they just don't care about the game, they even created the fog whisperers program, so they can have some players with a good base of following telling them what the community wants...

Try to take a time off the game, to clear your head, maybe with the new MMR system (I have my doubts) this will get better.

As for perks, I don't see what (at least killer side) perks are that OP that can't be countered. As for add-ons, yes, Iri head it's something and pinky finger (it's not that strong, but still is an insta-down add-on so...).

Moris and Keys should be rewoked/removed from the game, yes.

  • As an Oni main, I can say that it's depressing how many rocks, hooks, pallets, tires and/or any objetcts in the map are smashed by my kanabo instead of the survivor...

  • @Cardgrey said:

kinda entitled are we.... if they were smart they would not unhook you a few games in a row and maybe you would not feel like they owe you a fast unhook.just be glad that they did. as they are under no obligation to help you in any way.

Yeah, 'cause playing the game with 1 person doing a gen, 1 person being chased and one person traversing the biggest maps in the game by walking is pretty much a win right? We can really see a SB user from miles away, always trying to justify walking around the map.

  • As a Killer main I LOVE head on, either the survivor will do a good job and get a save or just stun you to evade a chase, or he'll do the stupidest ######### and probably head on the air in front of him.

Most of the time the perk isn't used to be toxic, but some SWF can do it, especially when you're chasing someone and you get 3 head on stuns on the chase 'cause there's no cooldown between how much stuns a killer can get.

  • "Boring killers" is when a killer main get enough bullying from survivors gen rushing and start playing with really optimal killers like spirit, freddy (yeah, he's really disgusting) or deathslinger (what? I can loop him for days, just learn how to "read" when he's going to scope you), so survivors can't loop for half a game (Deathlinger, Spirit) or can't gen rush (Freddy).

I myself play as Oni 'cause he's fun as a f. (it's always a good feeling when survivors ######### their pants on your blood fury activation - aka run to the nearest jungle gym or get rekt) but when I see the survivors bring 2 or 3 toolboxes on a lobby and check that they're SWF (steam profile) so they'll probably be running one or two prove thyself, I just bring my "unfun" impossible skill checks Doctor build or Forever Freddy :D

  • No please, as an Oni main I would hate to be sent to yamaoka every damn time, especially with p3 claudies and jakes (the guy is a chameleon in that map, believe me).

  • Always assume that the killer have BBQ. If you're in two in a gen and the killer come to say hi, assume he have Discordance. Always assume that the killer have at least one information perk and learn how to play around it.

Killers have to face so much BS from survivors and you want to nerf a perfectly balanced perk? It's 4 seconds of aura reading and most of the time, if you know how to play against it, you don't even need to go in a locker, just fake your position and move on.

When I started playing I've spent hours seeing videos on youtube and learning about killer's powers and perks, as well for learning survivor perks, information is power and it's really easy to learn these things if you watch one or two videos on youtube.

I understand why people do it, but it's hella annoying when I struggle on first hook because someone walked 3/4 the way across a huge map just to save their sprint burst and the killer was nowhere near me.

The only issue I have with SB users is that, so many times I've got to struggle on first hook 'cause of the Megheads walking across mother's dwelling or azarov's resting place to save their precious SB, only to unhook me THEN sprint burst away from the hook.

  • A good thing to do to "balance" OoO is to give broken status to the user, so if he wants to provide information for the whole team, he'll do it with the risk of being insta-downed.

U ask how? Pic doctor, let them all use calm spirit and then quick switch to Billy or whatever. U have 4 survivors running effectively 1 meta perk less the entire match

So what? They are causing their doom. That's what you get for exploiting something in the game. It should be bannable but if you lose a game because the killer changed his character, hence your exploit didn't work, you really got what you deserved. Simple as that. That's not making games easier for killers, is making hard for dumb people who need some kind of advantage (besides many others) to win.
