I have a power struggle with flipflop build i can never get it off, always like a 1 second delay from pick up. drops the pallet and it hits nothing =/
Well, can't say it isn't a bug 'cause, BHVR.

No it deactivates when used, but it activates when you are at 25% struggle.
I see... Well, sucks to be a Oni player, now I'll have to leave the perk owner just bleed to death (if he's the first downed in blood fury) I guess =/

Well VSchmitt obviously thought it only worked once, so he thought it was okay.
Still.... you practically have to go out of your way to get hit by it even once. Let alone twice.
Yeah, it's efective against a slug build (or, in my case, Oni) since you have more time than you need to go to a pallet (with tenacity) but most of the time I try to use it I get immediately picked up.

Still, eating it twice from the same guy is absurd, Power Struggle needs the Killer going through a pallet, eating it once is ok (especially against a dedicated build) eating it twice from the same Survivor... I mean you know he has it and you know you cant get close a pallet. Its worse than falling twice for Deception.
Well, as you can clearly see, I thought it worked only once so...

Power Struggle always had infinite uses and it's intended. My question is how the hell did he get it off twice? I can't even get Power Struggle to work one time.
Oni main, slug is kinda obligatory

Yeah but in the PTB said that it deactivates when used (the wiki says it too), so I figured it would work one time only

Well, you killer mains are always gonna find excuses, guess I don't need to spend any more time arguing with you. Have a good one, champ.
Quite difficult to argue when someone presents evidence in their alegations right? 2/3 of the perks you've listed are actual garbage while the remaining 1/3 can be divided in situational or applicable in specific killers.

Anything besides owning a 3090 will drop frames (but it's not poor optimization, it's your pc's problems ok?).

Killers not having good perks? You're kidding, right? As much as survivors can have broken combos that, luckily, only work once, killers are nowhere near having bad perks. There are WAY more useful killer perks than there are for survivors. Aside from gimmicky builds, survivors have DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Iron Will and We'll Make It. Every other perk is highly situational at best. Adrenalin works only if they manage to get to the end game (being a wasted perk slot otherwise), pretty much every exhaustion perk will never be more useful than Dead Hard, which only works when it wants to work anyway, Inner Strenght will be useful IF you manage to find and cleanse totems and IF those totems were not cleansed already (and it isn't even stackable, which means that you cannot destroy two totems and have two activations ready), Distortion had the potential to be a useful perk, but it really isn't, since you have tokens for it and only 3 of them.
Killer perks that are useful, instead, are:
- Ruin;
- Undying;
- Spirit's Fury;
- Nurse's Calling;
- Franklin's Demise;
- BBQ & Chilli;
- Play With Your Food;
- Save The Best For Last;
- Pop Goes The Weasel;
- Blood Echo;
- Thanatophobia;
- Monitor & Abuse;
- Lightborn;
- Enduring;
- Haunted Grounds;
- Coup de Grace;
- Oppression;
- Thrilling Tremors;
- Bamboozle;
- Surveillance;
- Stridor;
- Dying Light;
- Corrupt Intervention
- Discordance;
- Iron Maiden;
- Make Your Choice;
- Infectious Fright;
- Remember Me.
And I could still go on. The list will probably get longer with upcoming chapters. I'm not saying all of these perks are equally useful, nor that they are equally strong on every killer, luckily. But still, as you can see, killers have WAY more perks that they can use and put to good use. Without even mentioning the fact that Bloodlust, as much as it should not be a thing anymore, isn't even a perk. And before you argue about Undying, it will still make it so your Ruin survives longer, and that is IF survivors are able to find the totem/actively search for it and IF it doesn't get placed in spawns where survivors cannot cleanse them, as it has already happened on reworked maps.
Ur joking right?
- Spirit Fury (situational, most usable when combining with enduring);
- Nurse's Calling (reliable in some killers, not so great on others);
- Franklin's Demise (really? A perk with the ONLY purpose is to make survivors drop items AND they just can come back to it before the time expires or you'll lose the game for "camping" an item);
- Play With Your Food (situational as a F and only works with some DEDICATED buids since every M1 or power usage detracts one token);
- Save The Best For Last (good for m1 based killers, just that);
- Blood Echo (R-E-A-L-L-Y????);
- Thanatophobia (can be good, but the effects are neglectable, when I'm facing thantophobia as survivor I never give a single F);
- Monitor & Abuse (can be good in slinger since his TR is BS and Oni for a cheap 1st hit and comboing with Infectious snowball potential);
- Lightborn (REALLY? A perk that you use to counter the weakest survivor item in the game? Just look around you before picking someone up and look down if someone's trying to blind you 4head);
- Enduring (situational, most usable when combining with spirit Fury);
- Haunted Grounds (really? RnG based perk that if survivors have 2 brain cells will never be broken);
- Coup de Grace (THAT MUST BE A JOKE);
- Oppression (THAT MUST BE A JOKE part 2);
- Thrilling Tremors (poors man BBQ);
- Bamboozle (oh yah, block ONE window in a loop, get little faster vaults, SO OP);
- Surveillance (situational, better paired with other gen regressing perks);
- Stridor (only usable on spirit, and a scummy spirit);
- Dying Light (That's Freddy's favorite perk. Only Freddy);
- Corrupt Intervention (yeah, this one can be situtational as a F in some killers and really good on others)
- Discordance (it's most personal taste, most survivors will figure it out and spread in gens, wich is BAD for killers);
- Iron Maiden (WHY?);
- Make Your Choice (RnG based since you need to drop everything you're doing to actively go after the unhooker wich you don't know who it is, unless you're running GF's perk);
- Infectious Fright (good for snowball, situational on low lethality killers);
- Remember Me (THAT MUST BE A JOKE part 3).

There was so infectious... The other Jake who was downed made the noice. Also, what should I do? Sit behind something and do nothing?
Do you have a post-game screen? In the video is clearly you who scream by the volume of the "scream". Also, as said before, she clearly put the downed guy in the nerest hook from where you are, sorry if you don't face many nurses to learn it but it's a clear sign that she'll blink right next to you.
-
@katoptris said:
Nurse you need to avoid her and you can't exactly loop her just like others. Doc is anti stealth meaning you can't exactly hide well enough unless you run calm spirit or find a locker. Learn the killers weakness. Beside she got bugs among bugs on her.
To learn the Nuse mechanics first you need to learn all her bugs, maps with dead zones, maps that you can't blink no matter what (midwich corridors are a great example) etc... Then you need to learn how to use her.
Edit: typo
-
When Oni enters blood fury every survivor is teleported to a safe loop and don't leave scratch marks untill it's over.
-
"Oh, it looks that She's running infectious and spoted me sitting in upstairs gen. Better stay here while She obviously hooks the downed guy in the hook that's nearest to the spot I've screamed 'cause She clearly doesn't want to blink right up here."
Yeah. She is SO unfair.
Also, I prefer to be slaughtered by a really good Nurse that I know that put a lot of effort into learning how to play than be locked in a stale match against forever Freddy or be against a "mind gaming" stridor Spirit.

I'm certainly going to stop playing pig and going to 4 man slug with nurse.
SUUUUCKS to be you since Devs are actively nerfing slug to the ground nowadays. I barely can snowball with Oni anymore 'cause of healing perks + medkits (WRGLF is ridiculous).

Exactly. That combo was good for some slower, M1 Killers to make them competitive, not to carry weak Killers. Now a lot of those Killers will simply gravitate back to the strongest Killers. Unintended consequences are always fun.
I'm actually hoping for it. Since ruin+undying I've been facing less and less Spirits (Freddy's stayed the same since Freddy players are something else) but guess what, survivors asked survivors should be served. And it's exatcly what you've said, since medium to low tier killers won't have the pressure that this combo allowed, those players will be using stronger and reliable killers.
-

Or, at least iri shards. I ain't compaining about free bp, but It still takes a long time do pip from 20 to 1 (I play Oni so, one pip even with 4k 'cause I can't get that many chase points and I do slug to use Wrath optimally) and 250k isn't that much when you can get 64k/match with BBQ...

You rephase better my ''solution'' with your 1st sentence . thump up
Yeah, some killers can be really scummy, I play both sides but do A LOT more killer, I do slug for tatics since I main Oni, but never slug for the BM or just be a jerk...
Playing as a survivor I'll often crawl next to a hook if I'm the last and slugged, but sometimes I'll be left to bleedout 'cause I've looped the killer well I guess... In this case I just leave the PC and go do something else for the time, like take a snack or something.

The consequences are that its reduced pressure on the killer. Not even taking into account that Killers with ruin undying slug massively to try and snowball as quickly as possible.
When they don't ignore the secondary objective they still get punished for it since the killer just immediately goes back over to their totem they see your aura on. I've had games where killers drop everything and immediately rush to the totem despite chasing people on the opposite side of the map. Information on where someone is is such a big deal for killer and is absolutely utilized.
As information is for survivors, thus the problem with SWF and OoO+SWF. So, what's the point?

Many times i am the last survivor and the killers choose to slugging .The result of this action is waiting all this time instead of hook us and continue our life in Entity.This slug action eating our time without do nothing and waiting........ My proposal to dev team is to put a suicide button to the last survivors if they dont want waiting and slugging and give the bloodpoints to the killer like the alt+f4.Because many players they prefer alt+f4 plus penalty instead of have so many minutes eye contact with the killer
If you are near a hook and the killer already closed the hatch OR know where you are and still don't hook you, yeah, that's the killer being and grade A A-hole.
If you crawl to a corner of the map and/or to a place that you'll struggle off, it's on you, killers aren't oblidget to let you get off.
If the killer can't find you 'cause you got the "silent slug" bug, well that B is on BHVR for not fixing the goddam sounds.

HAHAHAHA Yeah more troublesome than DS/Unbreakable/Soul Guard which remain unchanged.... hold on I’m not done laughing... HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
He probably meant "for survivors". Yeah, killer having control of the match is SO Troublesome... Imagine that, killers actually making plays, not relying in capitalizing survors' mistakes.

What you meant to say was this only applies to SURVIVOR perks..cause ds unbreakable which was legit unbalanced due to no real counterplay is once again left alone..but you reduced hex undying down to nothing..can't say you arnt biased when making such biased changes..talk about disappointing
The thing is, if Almo, the lead in the balancing team, don't know how to counter one thing, this will be nerfed. Even Huntres Lullaby got gutted, Undying lived a long life, now it may rest in peace with old ruin and 15s taken from Pop, god fobid killers having any kind of good perks.

Yeah I understand one person doesn't make all the decisions but If the LEAD designer is saying these things, it is indicative of a bigger problem.
Was about to say that (even though I've said it before) He's the "boss" and the "shout caller", and his streams and responses are always so arrogant (don't know if the means to be arrogant or just phrase it wrong) but he does NOT pass the vibe that he's a good listener and takes well criticism

as @jaysime mentioned, this does sound like server issues more than killer VPNing or your connection being at fault. Sorry I didn’t mean to say that, I just tried to say it doesn’t seem like killers fault either.
i can’t really say anything to your servers, I am on EU servers and didn’t experience such issues lately..
Yeah, no I wasn't mad that you mentioned (my) connection was the issue, it's just that this is the copy & paste response with devs and mods in this forum, unfortunately.

I don't think it is lag switching. I had some matches like these as well (I'm from São Paulo/Brazil) and at first I thought it was the killer.
But the other day I got a lagged lobby like that on a KYF. Everybody was rubberbanding, even though we were all together and talking. So it wasn't any of us, it was just the server.
There was just one time last week I've seen it happen but it did not affect a killer (that was able to hit everyone at first besides the roll backs)... and it was a pc player... so I don't really will defend it wasn't him on purpose. But every other match I got like that (and it was more than 10 I can remember throughout this last month), I'm positive it wasn't the killer's fault.
8 of them even disconnected. And 2 of the matches we did, because the killer refused to.
Apparently It's a South America thing since other players aren't noticing it... And yeah, it can be a server thing since we all know how DBD servers are "good". Didn't try it with my friends tho'. Thanks bringing it up :D

@indieeden7 said:
1) Naming and shaming isn't allowed on the forums
2) Survivor queues are long enough without killers throwing a hissy fit and refusing to play a match because they don't like how some survivors play
Try to guess WHY survivors queues are getting longer and longer?
Spoiler: killers are getting fed up with all the BS survivors are allowed to do/bring to the match and just don't care to play DBD anymore.
Edit: Typo.

@Aneurysm said:
You'd think VPNing still happening might indicate to the devs hit validation isn't actually working...
It never worked, and I think the hit validation isn't even online? Can't keep track since they activate and deactivate in 20 minutes everytime.

@Mooks said:
Isn’t the red symbol indicating your connection to the server has a bad ping?
afaik you don’t see the Connection of the killer at all...
I thought that too, but ALL the survivors experienced this, so I'm inclined to believe that the server weights both killer and survivor pings and go for the highest.
My connection is 100% ok since I'm always running a background tracker to know If I'm having latency issues...
And this is not the first time, just the first time I'm bringing it to the forums, this week I've experienced it everyday, and again, all the survivors in the match were affected.
-
Oni, even though I'm a Oni main, so I'm pretty confortable in looping one out of his power, my friends always complaing when they go against him, and for sure, His map wide "OOf" when the loads 100% the Wrath is a big "Uh-oh" and when he enters yamaoka's wrath the scream as a really big "ok, time to either hide or go to a loop and pray to god that he doesn't know how to really use his power".
Love this aspect on Oni, since he can be either very scary or you can really know how to handle him. For me, and I'm biased, He's the most balanced killer in the game, since he needs to earn his power, being a normal m1 killer in the "early" game, and know how to use his power to best advantage...
-
When the guy that leads the balance team don't know how to really play DBD, and it's not an offense since you need to really spend time to learn how to play DBD, you know that's gping to happen.
And no, I'm not speaking without knowledge since there's a lot of video proof that he doesn't know how to play DBD, at least don't know at "high levels of gameplay".
-
It happens with PC killers too, but console is predominant...
-
I wonder why every game that has a brown coat Adam also has a yamaoka offering?
I miss the old days when everytime I saw a blendie lobby I could just bring the good old Doc and just destroy this BS =/

U can definitely play shack and short loops. But yeah T-L walls are a big no no
Yeah, I should have meant that you should not play it (if you don't know how)
-
Also, look in youtube for Scott Jund's ultimate oni guide.
-
Oni is all about timing. You need to get the time to lunge with demon dash and to properly demon strike (it takes half a second to "load" the insta down m1). Also, you need to learn how to flick, when to flick and when you'll make the flick (pratice a lot with his charge time add-ons so you'll know what to do when running them).
Also, half of the survivors know what to do against Oni, so they'll try to juke you with spins, cut corners (auto aim screw Oni really hard) and hide in your FOV (Demon dashing/striking reduces it quite a lot) so you'll need to read their playstile (once they do their jukes one or two times you should know what to do).
When chasing a injured survivor use A D A D to strafe and get a little slower, so you can bait their DH.
Use A D A D to strafe when you're going into a loop (it takes time to pratice and get hold of it).
Don't use W when dashing as it screws your strafe and turning control.
Short loops, L-T walls, Long walls and shack are a BIG NO NO to demon fury, avoid using it on this loops unless you really know what you're doing and the survivor don't know how to run the loop/Oni properly.
This doesn't apply if you're using s̶c̶o̶t̶t̶k̶n̶o̶t̶ topknot.

I'm reasonably new to the game compared to most here and I overall enjoy the game. I can happily play survivor for hours regardless of whether the games are unbalanced in terms of MM, whether people are camped or tunneled etc.
However whenever I switch to killer I really feel put off playing by the attitude and actions of survivors. Whether it turns out they are solo or swf. The lack of general respect is gross. Teabagging, waiting at door to taunt etc.
Now I know this is, sadly, to be expected in the game but when you see so many people complain about queue times for playing survivor... I now think... Well this why is... No one wants to deal with this.
You get used to It... It's how most of the good killers are made. You just get fed up with all the BS and toxicity and go full sweaty all games. Then you get bored of 4k'ing most of the matches and start doing some weird #########.
PS.: You don't need to camp/tunnel/BM you just learn how to play optimally, learning when to slug or capitalize in saves/altruism.
-
All this time and survivor mains didn't learn the basics of the game. Bones. Do them. Counters 99% of the Hex Perks 100% of the time. If you "lose" to ruin + undying it's because you didn't save the "precious" 12s to cleanse a totem. Hell, go on and cleanse all 5 if you don't trust your team, it's 60s, less time than it takes to do a gen.
But killers must face 4 DS's most of the matches (with at least 1 or 2 UB) and I'm seeing more and more DS, UB, Soul Guard and a exhaustion perk (mostly DH) AKA non-existent PP build.
Killer's really can't have anything good in this game 'cause survivors will cry their salty tears and the devs will, most of the time, do their will (oh look, let's nerf Coup de Grâce, a total meme perk, 'cause survivors find unfair a double range lunge).
For real, I rarely use UD+Ruin 'cause I want to run weird stuff on my killers, but if they nerf it I hope that killers just run spirit/freddy constantly so survivors can be reminded what unfairness is.

The Blood Orbs already have a limited spawn number (I think only 100 can exist at the same time) and sometimes they can be scattered around the map and he has to walk A LOT to get them.

-
Here, let me show you how to avoid all that backlash: just hold the mori changes untill you can launch the key changes into the live server too.
Is it THAT hard?
That way BOTH sides would be happy since BOTH sides agree that BOTH keys and moris are bs and ruin the game.
Why launch a direct (although needed) nerf to just one side?

Oni only gets his power if you allow him.
Faster healing perks and medkits counter him.
Also,playing super safe in the beginning is super important.Once he gets that first hit in and gets his power he's able to snowball.
Delaying that gives him less chances to snowball.
It's similiar to Myers if you will
Also: playing scattered will nullify most of his snowball potential. If he can't see you in infectious He'll probably just pick the downed survivor and save his power...
-
Also, short loops, shack (sometimes) and L-T walls will make his dash useless (unless he has topknot).
Long walls destroys Oni, that's why ormond, haddonfield (huh...) and some corn maps screw him over.
-
REALLY?

Oni Mains are not afraid of missing hits because they literally get their powers everywhere.
"Slug machine": WRGLF + medkits destroy slugging Oni.
"Oni mains are not afraid of missing hits because they literally get their powers everywhere". How about take 12s to heal instead of mindlessly sitting on gens?
