I think all killers should be as lethal as nurse, that camping is perfectly acceptable as long as the person being camped is compensated with bloodppints and that survivors are overpowered. But I also think you are overreacting and that these changes are simple quality of life changes. I would like to see bloodlust start immediately at 0 and slowly ramp up to +0.6m/s after 45 seconds rather than being in stages though. That would be nice.

There shouldn´t be a need for BL in the first place. I would totally be ok with it, if the devs just remove BL after making the killer and survivor hitboxes the same size. Which would kill looping.

I think that when the devs add more meaningful things for survs to do other than just gens and chases, it will help a lot tbh. I also really hope killers get the same treatment. More to do other than hooks and chases.

Do you mean special "totems" the killer can find and destroy, that would eliminate a random survivor perk?
Or special "chests" where killers find add-ons which they keep after the match?

    Use bamboozle

there are really bad loops in haddonfield that dont require vaults or even pallets, just angular fencing can screw over a chase.

Fatshaming spots are bugs, so I wouldn't really count that. That's not something that's intended by the game. (Report those if you see them, take a screenshot or two, they'll get fixed.)

it's not so much fatshaming, i think killers have a harder time turning than survivors in general which is why looping is such a problem. Like I just find a fence and just run around it and the killer has to get bloodlust to catch me, idk why but killers seem to move slower around turns.

Its not that they actually turn slower, Killers have a much bigger hitbox and therefore are further away from the walls, which increases the distance they have to run compared to survivors.

Making the Killers hitbox smaller doesnt sound significant at first but would nearly kill looping and many jungle gyms.

I agree, the hitbox (or collision box if they are not the same) needs to be the same size on both killers and survivors. It would instantly kill looping.

This mode is what I expected when I buyed Dbd back in the guys, not that everyone is aware of each other's position and the trouble is catching a survivor running in circles

I think running in circles wouldn´t be much of a problem, since this game mode would have a completely differnet approach. Killers can break a chase, because survivors wouldn´t be able to heal themselfes. Also more jumpscares and finally real mindgames, since there is no red stain that gives the killers position away.

    A real horror game mode.

(snip for space, RE: onboard Devour Hope variant idea)

While I think that would be a decent idea I think a few things would ruin it.

1: Survivors hook swarm enough that I rarely get out of range with regular devour hope. Doubling the range would essentially destroy the ability, IMO.
2: I think 6 or 7 hooks would be too much. That's almost everyone hooked twice which means, in the end, you'd hardly be saving any time anyway.

I'd say just make Devour Hope part of the kit and that would help with a lot of things but it'd never happen. The devs have proven one thing with their patch flip flop...things will never change.

Survivors would feel pressured to rush for the unhook. Which would result in a kinda "MYC playstyle" where they have to decide if they let the killer get far enough away and risk a DH stack or if they rush in and risk being chased. I´m not adamant on the numbers. 40 meters and 5 unhooks (or less) could be ok, but maybe OP. That would have to be tested.

  • I think there should be a more severe punishment for dc. A different animation would give people an incentive to do it even more.
This has gotten out of hand. I rarely finish a game where all 4 survivors play till the end. Most of the times the Obsession uses DS, gets downed and disconnects.

The event gives massively increased BP as is so long as you use the offerings and participate in it. Double bloodpoints on top of that would be bloodpoints on top of bloodpoints.

There will be double bloodpoints later this summer, just not on top of the event. I'd sorta' prefer it that way personally. Gives people more of a reason to come back later when the double bloodpoints start, and gives you another opportunity to get some grinding done in case you miss the event.

i disagree cause that would just make the killers want to camp even more no wonder your asking about it

So you don't want it. Because the killer would camp the hook, just like the survivors are?

Simple solution: don't camp as survivor!

There are cases where it would just cause a killer (who normally wouldn't camp) to camp if whispers went off. Say someone gets hooked, and I decide to go for the save. The killer leaves the hook because whispers isn't active. I get close, killer starts to come back, I hide. Now the killer sees that whispers is active, knows someone's nearby, and decides to camp to prevent an unhook.

Nobody's in the wrong there. Survivor's just going for the save, not rushing the hook. Killer's just checking back in to see if anyone's going for the unhook, nobody expects them to leave when they know a survivor is there now. But now we've created a situation where someone is now camping because the perk tells them someone is coming for the unhook. On the other hand, if it showed hooked survivors, the killer wouldn't know if someone's close or if it's just showing the person on the hook, allowing someone to carefully sneak in and go for the save.

That´s the same situation survivors create by looping the killer around the hook, instead of running away from it. Seen a streamer who complained about a camping killer, while he himself was sitting near the hook without doing anything. He failed to see the irony.

No plans that I know of, but it would be pretty cool. Even if it was just an event mode for a while to see how people feel about it. I really liked the beta for that. Everything was vanilla, and when you won or lost there was nothing to blame but your own skill.

I wouldn't worry too much about killers seeing items in the lobby, since I wouldn't want to see pre-equipped items/addons in that mode anyway. Chest it up baby. Though I'd be okay with everyone just being a silhouette so people can't just go, "Ugh, a challenge! I can't 4k this!" and dodge whenever they see someone with fancy clothes.

The mode could give a BP bonus multiplier to give an incentive to play a harder mode.
There could also be a checkbox to be matched with normal que players, if splitting the community would be to much. Maybe with an additional BP multiplier.

  • No, it shouldn't.
First of all, free Kindred is incredible powerful. BBQ doesn't even come close, since it has already been nerfed. Most of the time I won't see the survivors anyway.

My wish for a inbuilt perk would be (please read to the end, before you try to crucify me): Devour Hope. Or at least a variation of it. No speed bonus, no one hit, just the ability to mori a survivor once the requisites have been met. Something like killer has to be 50 meters away to get a stack (would reduce camping) and he needs 6 or 7 unhooks (yes, unhooks while being at least 50 meters away). After that he could mori survivors.

Honest question, not trying to stir the pot here. When was the last time y'all hit BL3? I can't remember the last time it got all the way to BL3 personally. I always have to break a safe pallet before it can get that high. Even BL2 is pretty rare, and that's only getting slightly decreased, while BL1 (the one that happens pretty often) remains unchanged.

Am I in the minority here? I really don't think this is going to have an effect on my killer gameplay at all. Even in a larger loop like the cow tree, I'd be lucky to see BL2 before I either have to break the pallet or hit them.

That's the whole point. It's already hard to catch a survivor with BL2 on certain spots. With the change, it will be even harder. Survivors know where to loop. They'll just run to a building and loop you there until the game is over. If you break the chase, the next survivor will run to the exact same spot.
  • Peanits said:

Not really. Kindred is possibly going to be made part of the base kit so solo survivors are closer to the power of SWF, and that would allow killers to be buffed without leaving solo players behind. But the camping part of kindred is pretty negligible due to the small radius, so unless you're standing right next to the hook, it's not going to do anything.

    @Boss said:
Nah, i blame the devs for caving in to review bombers.

These changes have been discussed way before review bombing. They're completely unrelated. Moreover, if the review bombing is due to the exhaustion nerf, I don't see how making kindred part of the base kit would make them change their minds.

I'm not convinced. I mean, the exhaustion nerf was just affecting a tiny part of the survivor community. Same goes for the flashlight nerf. But the review bombing looked like survivor was suddenly unplayable.
If the devs really nerf survivors hard and/or buff killers hard. Then there would be a review Armageddon.

I'm failing to see how adding a secondary objective would gut the game. It would add new strategies, builds, and gameplay while also spicing things up a little bit. I don't find fueling a generator before fixing it to be convoluted. If anything, having the generators arbitrarily lock progress with no explanation would be much more convoluted and confusing for people.

All you need is to put a lockpad icon over the generator UI. That makes it pretty clear that gen progress is locked, nothing confusing about it. Adding more objectives is confusing though, because it's just another thing you have to do.

And you would need to completely gut the game. Ruin is already sort of a secondary objective, and if there was even MORE stuff you had to do well now Ruin might be completely OP. It would need a rework. There's nothing to rework if you just put a speed limiter on the game. And again, this would only affect the highest tier players, leaving lower tier players unaffected. Secondary objectives influences both groups unequally because low tier players will be more impacted by the change as it's just more stuff they need to do and for them it would be more difficult/confusing.

You're looking at this problem as someone that plays the game and understands it already. For you a secondary objective isn't a big deal, but for newer players it is just another thing they need to learn.

I really think you underestimate new players. As I said, they are not as stupid as you try to depict them.
Devs could add the new objective and make a tutorial for it. Not that hard.
Artificially locking down the gens by your lock, would be a lazy and unintuitive solution.

Optional objectives are also not the way to go, since totems already exist and are mainly ignored by survivors.

My question is when are the devs going to do something about these ridiculous loops survivors still have?

Seems to me like you should address these problems first before you go suggesting what the devs just did. Or, at the very least, handle it all at one time.

Mclean mentioned on Twitter that many loops will like Fractured Cowshed will be removed/nerfed.

If that is the case i will accept the BL nerf.

Yes, if they actually remove some windows "hard" loops (the ones you cannot counter because survivors consistently have vision on you, while the vault spot remains super strong), then BL can easily go away for sure, as it's not a very healthy mecanic when it comes to pallets, especially with Bloodlust 3.

Bloodlust 3 speed just need to go at some point as it's just a cheese and a rather toxic way to lock a survivor on a juking spot with 0 ways for him to get off of it.

      My prediction:

    * more nurse player
    * gens get done as fast in solo as they do in swf
    * killers will struggle to rank up because of how short the games are
    * long survivor ques for october (seems to be a tradition)

Possibly. Might be the case if all the changes they put on the PTB go live even if people on the forums do not agree with it, similarly to the exhaustion change. I doubt the majority was for that change, and wanted more of a sprint burst change instead.

I doubt it will be that hard to rank up, but as usual, it won't be due to the killer's skill, but rather to the survivor's stupidity and ability to make a shitload of mistakes.

Most of these changes feel like emergency killer nerfing to help calm down the survivor masses who's bombarding the game with negative reviews after their minuscule exhaustion "nerf".

It basically is. It’s another knee jerk reaction by the developers.

The problem is that the developers are trying to balance by taking one step forward with Killers, then one step forward with Survivors. Problem is that Survivors are ALREADY 2-3 steps ahead of Killers. The developers need to leave the Survivors alone and focus on the Killers.

Map Balance for Killers first, then Bloodlust. Ect.

But survivors don´t believe that. They think killers are OP (especially Freddy) and that even the slightest nerf is unjustified. Then they review bomb and make fun of killers that complain about serious issues.

Survivor mains and fake Survivor mains (you know, "those" guys who claim they play Survivor/Killer equally but always say "Well, I think Freddy was OP and needed the nerfs." Or "Blood Lodge doesn't have that many pallets. Killers need to git gud." One of those guys) are some stupidest people I have ever come across in any community. The mental gymnastics these guys go through to somehow convince themselves that running around a piece of level geometry is difficult is astonishing.

Running in circles clearly requires a lot of skill. I wonder what would happen if survivors and killers had suddenly the same hitbox. Probably review armageddon.

I'd love to see this, honestly. Would be so much smoother to run loops.

    And no more fat shaming.

A thinner hitbox would benefit both sides. No more fat shame spots and it's harder to body block Survivors. it's win/win.

Smaller hit boxes for Killers : Looping goes away, Killers can’t body block the basement to hold the game hostage and basement saves aren’t so stupidly hard to do (Even as a Killer, I think the basement is too much atm), Nerf Killer aura reading perks (We don’t need them if Looping is gone, if we can’t find Survivors that’s our fault, not the Survivors fault if they are good at hiding.)

Lastly : Give Killers a REAL incentive to leave the hook. I stick with Tru3Ta1ent’s idea of a debuff for every fresh hook. -10% to repair speed. I want to like the idea of secondary objectives for Survivors to slow the game down, but this doesn’t help the issue of Killers camping folks out. Tru3Ta1ent’s debuff idea kills two birds with one stone. Slows the game down AND reduces the likelihood of camping and tunneling.

I like the idea of smaller hit boxes for killers. Body blocking shouldn´t be a thing. Neither for survivors.
    BBQ was already nerfed tho.
If you want killers to stop camping, make DH a normal perk or even better: make it part of the basekit. Since Kindred is on the table, that would be a equally powerful thing for killers.

  • I usually pip, even if i´m the Obsession and die.
Try doing at least a gen + unhook someone (who needs to survive for 10 seconds). That usually gives you a safety pip or pip if you survive long enough.

  • @AnnekeFloorever said:
Ok, so I am a relatively new player, I only have about 16 hours in the game and here are my current ranks as a Survivor Main (I also tried Killer, but I like the idea of being a Survivor better):
    -Level 26 Player
    -Rank 15
    -Level 43 Kate Denson

I believe that the game is really un-balanced towards survivors, and I think there needs to be more fairness because, I can see that some killers do go easy on survivors, but considering the majority of the community is toxic the devs need to make it harder for killers, instead of harder for players. Remember, most survivors have that "we are helping each other" mentality, but killers most of the time are on a giant ego trip. But I have had some killers who have won matches where I am like, yeah, totally fair and great game.

Here are my issues as being a survivor:

    • Most perks are actually useless for my character, especially Boil Over. But again, I have not unlocked ones I want like Decisive Strike. I can see some killers have useless perks, but most of them actually work like they are supposed to.
    • Hook-to-Generator Number is Totally Unbalanced. A killer doesn't need a tool to destroy a generator, but a survivor needs a tool to get rid of one hook? That seems totally unfair. Also, the number of hooks should be equivalent to the number of generators. I literally just finished a game where two hooks were like 5m away from each other, not fair.
    • I think there should be an option to insta-fix a generator, for example, if all spaces on a generator are being fixed at the same time by multiple survivors, it should insta-fix. If a Killer can insta-kill a survivor on a hook or when a player is down on the ground, there should be the ability to insta-fix a generator.
    • Survivors get punished for camping out too long in the same play (ie. the ravens), however, Killers do not get punished for camping out at a hook after hooking someone. That should change, killers shouldn't be allowed to strike immediately after a survivor is unhooked. Or killers shouldn't be allowed to camp out at hooks waiting for a player to die. Why punish one group of people for camping out too long, but not the killers?
    • There needs to be stamina for killers - survivors lose stamina after being injured, and killers should be only to run faster than a survivor for a certain amount of time. Rest for 3 seconds to regenerate. Then start up again.
    • Killers have so many special powers - they can become invisible, throw things, set traps. Survivors should have something, ANYTHING (other than a flashlight) to defend themselves against a killer. Why not implement something to pick up and throw at a killer to stun them? Or add a dodge button so just at the right moment when a killer strikes you can dodge their attacks?
    • It really sucks, that certain killers have special powers that you literally need to heal a player twice to go back to normal. For example, Freddy, you need a player to get you out of his nightmare world, and then find someone who will heal you when injured. It is not fair. Same thing with the Pig, she can hook AND install a trap, which requires THREE steps to recover. Unhook. Get trap off. Then find a player to heal you.

This game is TOO unbalanced for survivors.

You are new, so i´ll try to explain.

    • Yes, the game is terribly balanced in survivors favor.
    • No, killers are not OP.
    • Yes, most of the perks are useless, but some are really strong. If you want a list of strong perks, just ask.
    • Yes, hook to generator number is unbalanced for a reason. Over a year ago, Sabotage was a thing and survivors sabotaged every hook on the map. This resulted in killers being unable to hook anyone (sounds fair, doesn´t it?) and killers started to slug (down a survivor and let them bleed out). Since that wasn´t fun for anyone, devs nerfed sabotage and increased the hooks.
    • There is a add-on for the toolbox with the name Brand New Part. Until last week it was possible to almost instantly repair a gen with it. This has been nerfed, as the time it takes to repair all gens (without the tool) takes 3 minutes. With 4 Brand New Parts a match would take less than 2 minutes.
    • Killers get punished for camping. Survivors simply have to do gens. A hooked survivor takes 2 minutes to die. Thats more than enough time to finish gens (a single survivor needs 80 seconds at most to repair a gen. If he hits perfect skill checks, it´s even less).
    • Killers already have problems to catch survivors once they start looping. There is a difference in the hitbox of survivors and killers that gives survivors a speed advantage when they run close to obstacles. This is called looping. A skilled survivor can loop the killer for 5 gens.
    • I agree that survivors should also have special powers. But then, people would just take the meta power and you wouldn´t see any other survivors. Claudette has currently the ninja abillity by using black clothes and hiding in shadows or high grass.
    • Freddy is considered the weakest killer. You can wake yourself up by failing a skill check. Pigs power slows the game a little bit down. But it´s more of a nuisance than a real threat.

Killers have to find, chase, down and hook survivors 12 times. This doesn´t include things like flashlight saves or DS, which gives the survivor another chance to loop the killer and prolong the chase. Survivors have to repair 5 gens which take 80 seconds at max each.
Survivor is a lot easier and more relaxing than killer.

I hope i helped you. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

"Though just like so many whining Survivors, you"

Like all the other mains on this website - label me as a survivor because i disagree with cry baby killers.

    I play both equally.

I'm not moaning about face camping, I don't care much to be honest, but to say it doesn't happen is to say survivors never run sprint burst.

Did I say I was a Killer Main? No, I didn’t. Nice job being a hypocrite, and slapping a label on me as well there genius.

Did I call you a Survivor Main? No, I said whining Survivor. By your own admission, you play both equally, so its the Survivor player in you whining.

Secondly, again, face camping isn’t possible because facecamping was body blocking the hook to remove the unhook prompt option. So no, it’s doesn't happen because with the introduction of Swivel Hooks, it’s no longer even possible to do.

You are moaning. And your using the word “facecamping” in order to add a more dramatic tone to your argument because it’s “powerfully foul.” That way you can make it sound much more horrible than it really is, and give your argument more weight.

Can we just remind ourselves you're arguing over nothing, i never complained about face camping. I'm just saying it still exists.

there is no argument to be "powerfully foul" lmfao - stop trying to sound smart you're arguing with me over something that never even happened, you think face camping doesn't exist because you think face camping is hook blocking (LOL). I think face camping exists because killer can oh i don't know... stand face to face with a survivor and not move... almost like they're face camping. LUL

Arguing over me "whining" when i didn't whine. GG.

Funny that devs arent even aware of their own definitions. But probably it was just some random mod and not an actual dev, so nvm
Fact is that facecamping has been removed from the game

Or, i don't know. You're twisting the definition to suit yourself. If a killer is kissing the survivor on the hook they are FACE CAMPING. CAMPING THE FACE.

You are probably a new player that doesnt know what facecamping actually means.
    Never mind.

As someone who plays both sides, I think that nerfing BL and buffing survivors might cause a problem.
In the higher ranks, survivors are aware that infinites exists in some buildings. So, as the survivors will abuse it and killers won't be able to counter it, they will lose a lot of time, survivors will escape and killers won't be able to rank up. As a result, rank 5 to 1 survivors will have to wait a lot to play.
An implemented kindred would make things even worse.
So what do you think that will happen? Will the devs let the higher ranks empty?
Or did they decide to buff solo survivors so they can nerf survivors altogether?
I'm not sure where this game is heading, so I'll gladly read your comments on this.
I personally don't think devs would make such a blind move without going furher, there must be another reason that "they decided to take the survivors' side."

Been preaching this for the last 2 days. Survivors get (near) infinites back and every match will have a gen rush. Since every survivor will see if someone else is closer. No more wasted time by checking the hook.
Killers will struggle to rank up and survivors will struggle to find a match.

Devs panicked after the review bombs. That´s why they try to appease the survivors by giving them a huge buff.
I highly doubt that they would nerf survivors once solo survivors are on the same power lvl as SWF. Since that would cause another review bomb.

Isn't that a good thing since the developers can have a better foundation for balancing the game since both Solo Q and SWF are both equally powerful? Yeah, I do agree that they are taking a slight wrong approach with Kindred when they can add voice comms to Solo Q and SWF to make them equally strong.

I don´t think there will be much left of a killer base, once they finally start balancing around SWF.
But even then, they would require to nerf survivors hard. Which they won´t do, since survivors already review bomb after a slight nerf.

Maybe no hud at all. No indicators, warning signs, nothing.

Could be the hardcore mode. Where the killer only see´s the amount of survivors in his lobby. Not if they joined together or what equipment they have. No scratchmarks, no terror radius, no indicators of other survivors status, no auras, simply nothing.

    A true horror game(mode)

I wouldn't mind your idea at all but it seems like the developers want to give more information to the player. In the Q&A 2, they were talking about having Kindred as a base mechanic for survivors in general which I'm completely okay with!

However DbD developers need to make more hardcore perks like No Mither because currently survivor is just too easy for me.

Inbuild Kindred will hurt the game a lot. Survivors will waste no time by checking the hook. They´ll stay on their gens, because they see 1 of them is close to the hook. They can also see if 1 of them suddenly starts to loop, because the killer chases him. Survivors underestimate the change. It´s a huge thing.

Survivor is not only to easy for you. It´s generally to easy. This makes it even easier.

I still remember when there were no indicators. Survivors had to pay attention. "Was that guy who went down injured, or is NOED active." But right now, it gives to much information. Huntress lullaby is given away, even before it has any effect. I can see the killers terror radius, because UP suddenly appears on me HUD.

It will be as simple as the solution to camping: survivors will rush gens.

But this was already possible by coordinated SWF or good playing Solo Surivors in general. The Gen/Chase-Pacing is one of the main issues of the game already. By making Kindred standard the issue becomes more frequent, which forces the devs to find a way to fix it, if they don't want to loose too much of the killer playerbase.
They even talked about it during the Q&A. Problem is that they don't want to increase gen time and want to find a way around it. That was probably the main reason why the speed up pickup time e.g. My personal wish/solution would be that they make 80% of windows and pallets locked at start of the game, so they have to work to gain their map control.

I don´t think the devs are fully aware of what this change will cause. They want to make solo players as strong as SWF. But SWF is simply OP. Survivors will be more efficient than ever. In order to compensate this, devs would have to either nerf survivors hard (won´t happen, because they fear the review bomb) or buff killers hard (never happend and i doubt that they start it now).

What they need to do if they bring solo to SWF level is to then balance around SWF

Won´t happen. Devs will bring solo players to SWF lvl and then they get review bombed if they even consider the slightest nerf for survivors or buff for killers. Just look at all the whiny survivors that review bombed after the last nerf. They behave like the game suddenly became unplayable. When the nerf only affected a tiny amount of players.

I will enjoy riding another game if you dont mind, if these changes actually make it into the game, I dont see myself playing killer anymore and I never liked playing survivor because it is rather boring and not scary at all

That´s what i mean. Killers will leave the game and survivors will review bomb the game, because they can´t get a lobby.
Survivors review bombed after some minor nerfs, that don´t even affect most of the players. But they pulled the grenade, like they did with Freddy. Devs gave in again and will nerf killers hard. Since killers don´t really have a leverage. Because killers are the minority.

It will be glorious, because once again survivors get exactly what they want and they get a 45+ minute que, just like last october. Devs paniked back then and removed region lock + rushed the release of Leatherface.

To me, the most problematic aspect is the innate kindred. As op stated it is like trying to elevate solo survivors to the level of SWF groups which is a mistake.

How would that be a mistake? The reason the Devs are trying to push solo players to the level is SWF is so that they can strike a better general balance of the game.

You sure seem to enjoy 3 minute matches. With 45+ minute ques.
Because that´s what survivors will get with the nerf. Solo survivors will be as efficient as SWF teams. Shredding killers left and right, which will struggle to rank up with those short matches.
Which will cause long ques for survivors.

That isn't what I was saying at all, but okay.

What I actually meant is that it'd be easier for the Devs to balance the game if all Survivors were around the same level because right now there is a very drastic diFFerence between playing against a group of solo players compared to a SWF group. If they are more closer together they can strike a better balance for the game by adjusting the Killer accordingly.

    I agree.
But giving survivors even more indicators is the wrong way. Because survivors already have all kind of warning signs, that show them that they are exposed, affected by a killer perk, etc.
All this information also helps SWF.

Devs need to introduce voice com for everyone and then balance around that.

When killers are significantly weaker than the other side that's exactly what it means.

When one side is lower you don't raise the other to become even higher. You level the field.

You bring one side down or keep it where it's at while only touching the other until they're even.

So if Survivors had all the advantages they currently do with the exception of Killers being able to clip through all solid objects Survivors would still need a nerf?

No?...Because clipping through everything would remove the survivors advantage...That'd be OP. Like Nurse.

    What about gen rushing?
    What about stuns?
    What about DS?
    SB?
    SC?
    SWF?

If you’re going to be straight about it, Survs still have an advantage, just not in chases. But how can Survs and Killers be on a level playing field if the balancing is centered around keeping a brokenly OP aspect of the “lesser” side?

You clearly haven't seen a solo queue'd game.

    Neither have you.

I only play this solo so that's a failed attempt at whatever the hell your point is

Yup, cause whenever survivors are touched you all start a protesting march. How dare they not nerf survivors more.

Look buddy. I was a killer main and almost completely stopped playing killer. I find survivor incredible easy and powerful. I reached rank 1 without any perks. All playing solo. So please spare me the "survivors are weak" bullshit. Last 10 matches i played solo, i escaped 8 times. I don´t use SB, SC, DS, DH or flashlights. I play mainly with Meg and David.

Killers have been nerfed hard in the last 2 years. While survivors have been nerfbuffed. Whenever a survivor perk gets nerfed on one side, it gets buffed on the other. SC got a reduced heal bonus for medkits, but every lvl of it heals the same amount. BT doesn´t protect the rescuer anymore, but he can use it as often as he wants.

Whenever a killer perk got nerfed, it was nerfed for good. No buff to compensate on the other side. So if you think killer is OP, then start playing killer on high ranks.

The upcoming changes will hit killers hard and solo survivors will be as time efficient as SWF teams. 3 minute matches will be the new norm. Oh and killers will have difficulties to rank up with those short matches.

The last survivor nerf was a minor one. Most of the survivors don´t even use SB twice in a chase. Or flashlight save every survivor. But survivors started to review bomb DbD.
So much for the "whiny killers that want even more survivor nerfs"

Never said survivors are weak, but hands fly when they do anything remotely in survivors favour. Never said Killers OP.

What's with everyone putting words in each other mouths?

Oh so you recognize that survivors are strong but still think it´s a good idea to buff them more.

I think the proposed changes are not game changing nor problematic. It seems pretty fair you can't down a farmed hook instantly and the survivor that was unhooked having 0 control over it.

Also, removing exhaustion on a hook won't do #########. Anyone who's a good survivor knows to bring Dead Hard over Sprint Burst, and besides it's not like by that point exhaustion isn't recovered...

It's literally a simple QoL change for ######### survivors. Why is everyone so against it? They're such small buffs that it won't change #########.

Missed the changes to BL and inbuild Kindred? Those are the changes that will really hurt the killers.
Sprint Burst will be meta again, since survivors can use straight from the hook. Killers won´t be able to defend that hook or survivor. But thats only a minor issue compared to kindred.

I can't agree with the BL changes. I always thought it was necessary for the killers.

Built-in Kindred seems like a proposed balance change on behalf of solo queuers. As one, it would only be such a minor buff. Trust me. Although it will make the perk useless, so idk

Imagine that you solo and the killer hooks someone. Kindred kicks in and you see every survivor. You decide to stay on the gen, because someone else is closer. You don´t waste time to reach the hook, just to see someone else unhook. You can play more time efficient. If you equip Empathy or Bond, you´ll even see when the killer is chasing someone. You won´t waste any time, because you´ll know exactly where everyone is. You do your gens and get out as fast as possible.

Get over it at this point

They are balancing the game. Balancing the game does not mean survivors only need nerfs and killers only need buffs.

Complaints have to do with SWF, cause obviously it's broken. Solo queue'd games are not.

Don´t worry. With the upcoming nerfs to killers. Solo survivors will be as broken as SWF.

I think your analysis is spot on Runiver.

    • more nurse player
    • gens get done as fast in solo as they do in swf
    • killers will struggle to rank up because of how short the games are
    • long survivor ques for october (seems to be a tradition)
