  • SWF thinks it´s a good idea to sort the matchmaking for the weakest player. He shouldn´t have a bad experience after all. It all about (survivors) fun.

    in Why? Comment by Tsulan
  • So... the fact that killers require BL3 to even get a hit on a survivor who is looping, doesn´t worry you?
Because after the nerf, killers won´t even get that hit. We´ll get something that is close to the old infinite. Survivors will be able to loop the killer for 5 gens without even getting hit.

This sounds amazing for survivors. They can finally create some Ochido style videos, where they loop the killer till daylight and then claim how ez it was. Survivors will be able to get all 4 survivors out for almost every match.

If only the lobbies wouldn´t take so long...
Damn, why is everyone playing nurse only?!

  • That´s what i´ve been telling the whole day.
If a killer can´t catch a survivor with BL2 right now, he won´t be able to catch a survivor with the new BL3. Survivors will just loop him almost indefinitely. This is a huge nerf for killers, which shouldn´t need BL in the first place, to catch a slower survivor. But because survivors abuse the difference in the collision (or hit) box, they can loop the killer.

Only solution i see, would be to make the box the same size. No more fat shaming.

Devs have lost their mind, if they think nerfing BL right now would be a good thing.

Survivors will get exactly what they want. A ez match, where they can experience the thrill of a chase, but no real danger. Good enough to make a funny YT video and BM the killer.

    Enjoy!

So you're saying killers can no longer stand within 1 meter of survivors?

(hint, I've seen it happen even after the update)

please, continue to tell me how face camping doesn't exist.

Killers can’t body block the hook to remove the hook prompt. That’s what facecamping was. Though just like so many whining Survivors, you changed the definition of the word to suit your argument for justification. Bravo.

Let's change the word then! The Almost facecamp. Now are you happy?

The word you are searching for is HARD camping.
I shall not rest, untill everyone says hard camping instead of face camping!

Lol, as if the lunge animation isn't so long that it'll cancel out the sprint burst anyway.
Also, if you're that close when unhooking you're pretty much facecamping anyway.

I used invincibility previously in the post so you know what I meant, I made a typo. Get off your little high horse, correcting spelling for a word I've already used correctly in the previous sentence just makes you look awful.

I´m not the one on a high horse who makes fun of other posts. I just pointed out that it´s a completely different thing. Not just a typo.

Don´t worry, i won´t hurt your feelings anymore. I promise.

Sprint Burst makes the survivor immune to a hit, since the hit registration doesn´t work. That´s the whole point about it. Also face camping doesn´t exist anymore. It was removed back in october 2017.

You're so childish and condescending. I don't make fun or troll posts. I give my opinion and other people don't like it because it requires them to adjust to the updates become better killers/Survivors.

Also being corrected on a word I've used correctly in the sentence doesn't bother me, it just shows your immaturity to have an actual conversation.

    "Sprint Burst Makes Survivor Immune"

oh my god, you must not play killer at all, I'm sorry for accusing you of being that. I've hit plenty of survivors as their sprint burst activates.

Also, just a little tid bit for you - exhaustion runs down on the hook naturally, no one seems to be complaining about this but suddenly it's super OP because it'll be cleared regardless of how long you're on the hook for? LOL

"Also face camping doesn´t exist anymore. It was removed back in october 2017.
Would you like to know more?"

Face camping is the act of standing infront of the survivor while they're hooked, so you're guaranteed a hit on them or the other person when they're being unhooked. It doesn't matter what angle you get pulled off from, a killer can still stand an inch away from you - AKA FACE CAMPING.

God you need to learn some more about this game before trying to be rude, lol.

    Hold ma beer.

Killers then have to be strong and don´t adapt. It will be hard for a time, but once you get used to 0 kills every match it gets easier. Survivors will tell killers to git gud. But killers need to stay strong and accept the loss. Because if killers adapt like they did in the past, they will only get more nerfs. Marth plays PC with a controller. Don´t know which region tho.

Just a example. Yesterday i had a match, where 3 gens poped by the time i downed the first survivor as Freddy. It wasn´t a long chase or looping. But simply the size of the map (swamp).
If survivors are dedicated to finish the gen, then it takes less than 80 seconds for a single survivor to do it. Most chases take longer than 80 seconds, IF the survivor starts looping.

He might be EU then like a lot of others are at least pc side and yeah sometimes matches go really quick but in most cases it's either the killer does it or survivors do based on map rng and killer choice. Freddy on Swamp I've never run into and that seems like a really bad map for him due to lOS issues.

Yeah it´s a bad map for him. But i think Crotus Penn is the worst. Since i can´t see #########, when i enter the building. Pitchblack

He really needs a complete overhaul.

  • BL is useless, since it´s only a bandaid to fix the looping problem, which was created unintentionally by giving killers and survivors different collision boxes.
Killer is supposed to be faster than the survivor, but because of the different collision boxes (also known as fat shaming), that speed bonus is nullified.

Now a killer who can´t catch a survivor for 15 seconds with BL2 won´t be able to catch a survivor with the new BL3. Mindgames will vanish and survivors will loop even more than ever.

Resistance is futile. If killers adapt and try to git gud, the devs will find something else to nerf killers.
Survivors won´t be happy unless everyone escapes every match.

    ”#########! He found me!”
“Come grab me off the hook! I’ll Dead Hard/Sprint Burst away to safety or go to a Loop for free cause he can’t hit me right off he hook!”

All this will do is promote Hook Rushing. Hell, if the Killer is far enough away, it’s a freebie for both doing the unhook and the hooked person. Won’t even have to use Borrowed Time anymore and risk the Killer chasing the guy till the timer runs out. Most of all combined with the “status ailments reset on being hooked” so there is no chance to be exhausted so you can’t use your exhaustion perk.

In fact, it’s even worse than the old BT. Now the unhooked guy is guaranteed to get to take off to a Loop, and Loop the crap out of the Killer for his one health state because he doesn’t have a timer ticking down till he falls.

You asked me for 4 perks that synergize for survivors at all time, while bringing the killers version of Deja Vu (pre patch) as a useful perk (Fire UP), just to get 4 perks for killers. Then you changed to "4 perks that synergize during a chase". Then you changed again to "4 perks that help prolong the chase", and so on, and so on.

My words exactly. Name 4 perks that do the same for survivors. Not synergies well with each other.

Killers want to end chases quickly. The survivor equivalent of that is to extend them. Since survivors love to be chased as evident by how many killers are complaining that they can't catch that one guy that plays so perfectly.

It's also completely disingenuous to dismiss Fire Up since it's a perk that helps with chases. It doesn't matter how little it actually benefits you as killer, it still helps you consistently throughout the match.

Inbefore Thanaphobia can't be used with other generator stall perks to synergies a build with them (Like Dying Light, Overcharge, Ruin).

    You get the idea.

Basically you changed the subject each time i presented you 4 survivor perks that synergize perfectly. Unlike killers which really struggle to get 4 perks that synergize (that´s why you had to bring in Fire UP)

I brought in Fire Up because it helps in chases. Lol ######### are you on?

Now to the unrelated topic of the "whataboutism". I expressed an unpopular opinion and got a ton of downvotes from survivor mains. Which thought this forum works like Reddit, where people can burry a comment under downvotes, so no one can see that opinion. Funny how a survivor main commented on the survivor sub forum about how bad it is, that survivors can´t even comment on their own forum without getting toxic comments. While failing to present ANY toxic comments from others.

Because everyone who disagree with you are survivor mains. Of [BAD WORD] course. Stop with the killer versus survivor mentality.

You could write a book on the number of useless Killer perks. INB4 a guy pops in "No! There's this one gimmick build that works with this one Killer so it's not worthless!" Then he uses an extremely dated meme and thinks he won the argument.

    Beast of Prey: complete garbage.

Blood Warden: too situational and countered by an SWF squad.

    Fire Up: complete garbage.

Distressing: complete garbage except on Doctor.

Deer Stalker: pointless because there's other better tracking perks.

Dying Light: not terrible but too situational. Only works on Freddy if you use the Black Box add-on.

    Iron Grasp: complete garbage.

    Devour Hope: complete garbage.

    Third Seal: complete garbage.

    Huntress Lullaby: complete garbage

Knock Out: hard countered by SWF.

Make Your Choice: pointless except on Hag and Nurse.

    Unrelenting: complete garbage.

    Monstrous Shrine: complete garbage.

    Overcharge: complete garbage.

    Overwhelming Presence: complete garbage

Spies from the Shadows: complete garbage.

    Surveillance: complete garbage.

    Thanatophobia: complete garbage.

Some people defend Thana but honestly you have to couple it with other perks that slow them down like Dying Light or Coulrophobia or Unnerving Presence. Which takes up at least 2 slots. And that's two less slots that can help you with the most important part of the game: the chase.

I do not agree with Fire Up, Deerstalker, Iron Grasp, Devour Hope, Lullaby, and Thanatophobia. The ONLY perks that are “utter garbage” is Beast of Prey, Unrelenting, Monstrous Shrine, Spies, and Surveillance.

Fire Up is not that great except on Myers.

Deerstalker can find that one last survivor if you start slugging

Iron Grasp is used for a lot of basement builds and can be the difference between a survivor being hooked or them wiggling free

Devour Hope is garbage how? It is an insta-down at three stacks and a mori at five. If it isn’t broken, it’s great

Lullaby has it’s purpose and can psych out survivors easily

Thanatophobia is used by A LOT of killers and has a purpose.

Not every killer has to use the same perks to be successful (BBQ, Ruin, A Nurses Calling)

Care to explain why you think Fire Up is useful on Myers? It´s a 0.2 second bonus with full stacks. That´s a blink of an eye.

Devour Hope is only great if it doesn´t get cleansed. Every killer would stop camping and use this perk, IF it wasn´t a Hex perk. I consider all Hex perks trash. Since they are not "high risk, high reward" how they should be.

Thanatophobia gives 10-15 seconds extra time if you manage to injure everyone. To really make a difference, it´s bonus should be somewhere between 50 and 75%.
The reason killers use it, is the same they are using Ruin. Even if they only get 30 seconds of more game time, it´s worth it, since the game only lasts 4 minutes.

I’m mostly a survivor main (I do play killer tho) and I was happy with the Exhaustion changes along with the perk reworks, but now you talk about Survivors getting some kind of buff and in comes the crying once more. I´m not crying. I just asked a reasonable question. Since the review bombers have damaged the reviews of DbD and got themselfs buffs for it. I´m curious what´s the next step for them. Or if it´s just a "on the fly" thing to upvote or down vote a game depending on the daily mood. You’re not asking any question, you’re simply trying to spread more toxicty by poking at said “review bombers” to initiate what I’ll assume is some sort of arguement. Grow up would you?     Balance works both ways (even though I don’t agree with some of the planned changes), you guys got pallet nerfs, exhaustion nerf, specific killer buffs, amazing perk reworks(for both sides), incoming DS nerf, etc.     @Tsulan said:

After the last Q&A, are you going to revert the negative reviews, since you get a huge buff? Or will you keep it and pressure the devs for even more buffs? ^ those are questions

Once again, you disguise it as questions, but it’s just a poor attempt at starting an argument with said “review bombers.” I’ll repeat myself - grow up.

I´d say we are arguing (on a poor level, because no one is really trying to argument, but hey, it´s better than nothing).

Since you clicked and commented, is it save to assume you are one of the review bombers?

Uh, I literally said I agreed with the exhaustion changes and perk reworks?...

It’s either 1) too late for you, in which case you should go sleep or 2) you need glasses.

There’s a difference between arguing and suggesting that you should grow up and not attempt to rile up “review bombers.” See, I’m trying to do good and stop spreading toxicity as an ambassador for both Survivor/Killer play, but you on the other hand just want to start arguments.

Ex: I agree with some killer buff and survivors nerfs, just like I agree with some survivor buffs and killer nerfs. 50/50

I just love a good argument. I even have several comments on my profile from people that were surprised how nice i could argue. I don´t insult or attack anyone on a personal level. (maybe you noticed how i got attacked).

I didn´t mention the exhausion changes, since i didn´t found that relevant to the current discussion.

I´m really just trying to get into the mind of those review bombers to find out how they tick. What´s their motivation (obviously reverting the changes, but maybe there´s more), and what their plans are. Since i don´t use the steam forum anymore and i don´t want to ask every review bomber personally, i opened this thread.

I play both survivor and killer on rank 1. I find playing survivor incredible relaxing, where i can play and drink at the same time. Have a good laugh if i play in SWF, and enjoy myself. At the same time, killer is really stressful. I feel under constant pressure, because gens pop so fast while i just can´t reach that survivor who is supposed to be slower than me.

For me it feels like the roles are reversed. Killers job should be relaxing and survivor should be under constant pressure. Or at least that´s the impression i got from every horror movie ever.

Well, the review bombs started, because of the exhaustion nerf, so while it might not be relevant to the “questions” you’re asking, it is relevant to the reason as to why DbD got review bombed.

Anyway, it’s choice 1 for me, so I’ll leave you to your argument/discussion with those review bombers you want to talk to, good luck and I hope no one gets upset.

Since no one of the review bombers answered yet (maybe they don´t visit the forum). What do you think about the review bombs and the last Q&A video?

    What??
BTW. How did the perks i recommended you work out for you? Ohh wait, yes i almost forgot. You were only trolling. Nevermind then.

I'm not the one that brought up that players who aren't interested in PTB are sabotaging the game.

Also it's amazing how you bring up those perks up when I clearly stated that I was trying to find 4 survivor perks that all work around the same time that help extend chases. Since you claimed before that killers can't use 4 perks at once during a chase to help end it.

BTW if we're going to bring up everything unrelated to this topic, tell me. Did you feel happier now that down votes are gone? If memory serves you made 2 separate posts because you couldn't handle that you got down voted while arguing about 'Whataboutism'.

    Poor you.

Aww man i love to get in touch with one of my fans! You really brought a smile on my face.
Don´t forget to smash that Awesome button on my comment!

Basically you changed the subject each time i presented you 4 survivor perks that synergize perfectly. Unlike killers which really struggle to get 4 perks that synergize (that´s why you had to bring in Fire UP)

Thx again for all the attention. You just made my day, by showing me, that you really care about what i write.
Sadly i can´t remember any of your threads. (appart from the 1 mentioned above).

    Have a glorious day!

Oh i just made a resume of the different logic traps survivors actually do, with a strong amount of sarcasm.

3-4 matches on rank 1 are not the killers fault. Or please enlighten me on how 1 killer can keep 4 people off gens at the same time? If the killer chases 1, the other 3 do gens. If the killer breaks the chase to go for a easier target, there are still 3 survivors doing gens. Maybe it´s different on consoles, but on PC, survivors usually don´t [BAD WORD] around and get out. Of course, there are some people which don´t belong to rank 1, but somehow play at that rank and don´t unhook or use meme builds. But a killer can´t count on those things every match.

Maybe take a look at Marth88 and tell me, what all the rank 1 killers did wrong.

Apologies since that was on 3 hours of sleep but some things to point out.

    1. You should've specified you were generalizing there for the logic trap since it looked like you were referring to me. Also killers do the same thing but on both sides it's the outliers that do that.

    2. If 3-4 minutes matches are the norm then yes that's the killers fault since bnp fix that doesn't happen hardly ever.Around 95% of my rank 1-2 matches that end early or with no to 1 sac are because someone was doing a daily.

3.What does Marth play on anyways same as some of the others? I'm wondering if perhaps consoles the killers are at a more serious disadvantage perhaps.

    1. Yes on pc most survivors don't tend to screw around at rank 1-2, but even when they don't most games don't end that quickly. The few that do end that quickly on killers not doing dailies on champs they suck at the map rng isn't good. I've had games where Freddy's just destroy although it helps on wide open maps Cough Cold wind any Cough. The same is true for some others as well that normally you wouldn't think are good but hen well played combined with map rng it's a slugheterfest.

5.I totally agree that some at rank 1 don't really belong there and hopefully once they start going after all the baddies that hack/lag switch on both sides etc the ranks will really thin out.

Craaap forgot to ask this but what region does Marth play in as well as platform?

Marth plays PC with a controller. Don´t know which region tho.

Just a example. Yesterday i had a match, where 3 gens poped by the time i downed the first survivor as Freddy. It wasn´t a long chase or looping. But simply the size of the map (swamp).
If survivors are dedicated to finish the gen, then it takes less than 80 seconds for a single survivor to do it. Most chases take longer than 80 seconds, IF the survivor starts looping.

  • The BL nerf will remove all mind games. The fact that the killer had to reach BL3 to get a hit on the survivor, just shows how unbalanced the whole looping mechanic is. If the killer wasn´t able to get a hit with the old BL2 for 15 seconds, he won´t get a hit with the new BL3. Survivors will just loop the killer indefinitely and call it skill.

true but unfortunately by this logic, the devs cant talk about balance.

Which is just sad and explains a lot about the ongoing problems of this game.

Devs should really hold regular matches against high rank players on both sides to see where the problems are.

    "Learning to juke the killer"

Hey, bro... some killers are good and it's harder to juke them... just like some survivors are good and are harder to catch.... WOW would you look at that.

Running in circles by abusing the difference in killer and survivor collision box is nothing i would consider skill (or a good survivor).
Have you actually tried to juke a killer? Like double backing up, trying to lose the killer mid chase, etc.?

The same reason I stopped playing the PTB - I like earning blood points and spending them on my characters.

If you don´t, than it really means a LOT.
A person who never reached rank 1, shouldn´t be talking about balance. Or we get another Freddy situation, where rank 20 survivors with less than 10 hours in the game, thought he´s OP.

  • Haven´t you seen the last Q&A video?
    Survivors get already huge buffs.

  • @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:
Bloodlust needs to go. It promotes bad killer plays and requires you to learn less. It's one of the reasons I stopped playing killers aside from killers FOV and flashlights white screen giving me migraines. I hated using BL and I would instantly lose it if I ever reached tier III, because it meant for that I did not play optimally.

Yes, maps need adjusting still and I can prolly live with BL staying until then, but once maps get balanced, it needs to go.

Also when you're hooked, you're not doing anything. It makes perfect sense exhaustion cooldown would go down when you're hooked.

Don´t you think the game has a bigger problem, when the killer needs to reach BL3 to get a hit on a survivor who just runs in circles for 45 seconds? Killers have a 115% base speed bonus to be faster than survivors. But somehow they still need BL to even get a hit on a survivor. Does this sound balanced or even logic?
I mean, how many cars have you seen, that run with 115km/h, but don´t manage to reach the car that goes 100km/h for several minutes.

There won´t be ANY mindgames once BL goes. Survivors already just run in circles, because that´s the most efficient way to waste the killers time. Mindgames would be juking and trying to lose the killer. But a looper won´t try to lose the killer, but to keep him chasing for as long as possible.

This is a huge step backwards.
I agree, that BL shouldn´t be in the game. But a survivor shouldn´t be able to loop a killer for several minutes. If you remove BL, you better increase the collision box of survivors, so they won´t have the speed advantage of hugging the wall during a loop.

Meanwhile, contrary to what others have said, the killer forum gets a bunch of "who's your favorite survivor/what's the best loadout/how do I play x character" posts without a ton of people running in and flaming them to the ground. Super fair.

If a killer plays stupidly you mean and doesn't go bash gens, doesn't go look for survivors, doesn't do anything but no skill camp at 1st hook. You may want to play badly that way but at rank 1-2 most killers leave the hook and don't have an issue getting kills.

It's only a free escape if you let it be a free escape IE that person makes it out of the match alive. Why no try not using excuses and semantics and insults in your posts for once. You might actually have some good points for once. :p In case you failed to realize the somewhat sarcastic nature of the last 2 sentences.

    Sooooooo
    Just to get this straight...
If the killer camps, he´s a bad camping killer.
If the killer leaves the hook, he´s a bad killer who relies solely on BBQ.
If the killer goes for the freshly unhooked survivor, he´s a tunneler.
If the killer does ignore the freshly unhooked survivor, he gives him a free escape, which he shouldn´t. He´s also stupid.

Are you sure about the "on rank 1-2 (or do you mean rank 12?) most killers leave the hook and don´t have an issue getting kills"? Because if the killer tries to get 12 hooks on rank 1, he´ll surely have some time problems. Because the match has been over after 3-4 minutes.

    1. Sarcasm was highly intended because the persons was being their usual idiot.
    2. At ranks 1-2 most matches the killers have had no issue leaving the hook and getting 2-4 kills.
    3. If you're matches are all over in 3-4 minutes then that's your own fault.
    4. Most matches that end that quickly are because the killer usually a Billy nailed everyone because of good map rng.
    5. The occasions where matches end that early are rare and are almost always because it's someone doing their dailies.
    6. If the killer lets the freshly unhooked person get away he isn't being stupid that's you putting words out there I didn't say. Why not try reading that again and notice who actually said that. :HINT IT WASN'T ME.
    7. I never said a killer who leaves the hook is a bad killer who only relies on bbq. You're as bad as the others with the Logical fallacy crap.

Lastly you killers that throw out the Straw Mans, Red Herrings and other logical fallacy crap just make yourselves look that much more idiotic each time. This is especially pathetic coming from some who actually usually have good discussions. Of course, there are some people which don´t belong to rank 1, but somehow play at that rank and don´t unhook or use meme builds. But a killer can´t count on those things every match.

Maybe take a look at Marth88 and tell me, what all the rank 1 killers did wrong.

  • What a beautiful story!
