Camping and tunneling is a issue that the Devs needs to fix.
They don´t exist. It´s just the killer doing his objective.
What else is he supposed to do? Totems?

Would you prefer "buff DS" threads?
I mean... let people voice their opinion. Whats wrong about that?

Imagine if the COD would have such big hitbox issues, or CSGO or any fps game, it'd be completely unplayable. The netcode is killer biased they admit it. The MMR is a good project but after 4 yrs?? The hitbox is a lag problem i know. I'm a game programmer and i know how to deal with the lags (interpolate the motion data or syncronize it with server) why they don't know it after so many yrs? The Hit validation is cool but it's not in the release version i think.
I hope the best as always but they need to do something with the testing.
Hit detection is server sided. So...

So, today I had time for 3 games. I wanted to make the best of it, since there is Bloodrush and I need BPs.. I figured I would make at least 1 challenge. Currently rank 3 on PC.
Challenge: Get a great result on 10 skill checks. Easy, or so I believed.
Game 1 - Trapper. Made 2 great, then tunneled to death through 3 hooks. The team made it out and noone else got hooked cause I held the killer the whole game.
Game 2 - Doctor. Made another 2 great, then tunneled. Dead on my 2nd hook because of my teammates stood in the corner and self caring and healing each other. Also risky save with no BT.
Game 3 - Huntress. Made the rest of my great skill checks (thank god). Yet, tunneled of the hook and dead on 2nd hook again.
I hate toxicness, I never spam the flashlight or teabag or anything.
Killers, why??
I read so much about toxic survivors being a problem, but I really dont feel sorry when Im being threated this way. I see toxic killers more often than toxic survivors. Is it just me?
Thanks for a good evening fellow gamers, not.
Yes, it´s just you. There are far more toxic survivors than killers. I even see them, when i play survivor.

That's factually not true and you clearly don't know what you talk about. When you exit any program there's an exit code that tells what triggered it; if it's an error it tells of what type, if it's a manual exit, if it's a network failure, etc.
Yeah, network failure. I just pull the plug of my ethernet cable. Then i plug it back in and avoid the penalty.

I would 100% agree with this if the DC penalty discriminated between crashes and ragequits.
There is no way to differenciate that.
If there was a way around, people would just pull the plug, alf-f4 or something like that to prevent the penalty.

Gotcha! I'd be cool with that, although they may need to work on the gate spawns a bit on some maps.
I'd definitely agree that keys are way stronger than new Moris, but without the ability to open hatch keys would be substantially worse than all other survivor items. I think keys would need some sort of base effect added and their add-ons would need a rework if they wanted to remove the ability for them to open the hatch. As is the wedding ring and blood amber are the only two useful aura reading add-ons and they're both purple rarity.
They could improve the addons and increase the duration.

1) Keys are items, Moris are offerings. Keys should be substantially more useful than Moris.
2) How would you handle the EGC without a hatch? Would you instantly power the gates for the last survivor? That might be ok, but just curious what the idea is. I do like the current EGC with hatch, though - it's less dependent on just how close the gates spawn to each other.
Yes, i would power the gates instantly when there is only 1 survivor left.
As it is now, keys ARE substancially stronger than moris. The aura reading of the keys would still be a strong feature.

While Object of Obsession clearly needs a change, bringing a Killer-Perk Version which would be even more broken is quite poor logic.
No, i think what he means is, that OoO would have been nerfed hard if it was a killer perk. But since its a survivor perk its "ok" for the devs to keep it like it is.

Just remove the hatch. It serves no purpose now. Keys can still be used for aura reading and therefore are as useful as moris.

You don't have to tell me that! I go out my way to avoid stuff like UB and DS because it makes the killers time unpleasant, plus I'd much rather have a fun off meta build than whatever small pp build most people use
But builds exclusively for point farming as a survivor exclusively revolve around extreme altruism (nolb, wglf, etc.). This means you either have to get almost every save and go out of your way to make everyones life more difficult, or not get use out of your build, which does not help you elsewhere (besides gen rush with prove thyself).
It's just boring.
Not every match has to be like that. Maybe 2 or 3 matches to get this or that and then back to the normal loadout.
-
@Mr_K said:

There is a issue with points assignment, not with capping.
If it's easy to cap it with Prove Thyself I think the problem is with this perk, which is quite generous with the bonus and therefore I think PT needs to be recalibrated or even rethought, considering that you already get a bonus for co-operation. This applies also to similar perks.
I think I never see a cap on Survival, but that's, again, has nothing to do with caping, it just because we don't gain points on that doesn't mean it would be fairer to remove the caps to make up for them.
Of course, it doesn't make any sense to cap one or two categories.
Survival is really hard to cap. It should be easier or simply removed as category with a limit.
Proove Thyself is a balanced perk that rewards team play. There should be more perks like it.

Because not everyone wants to use a boring point farming build, nor would one work on every single killer...
It's just silly
The grind is already hard enough.
If I can gimp my build but get more points out of it, then that's a welcome change.
It doesn't has to be meta all the time.
-
@AChaoticKiller said:
I think it's so you have to focus on everything, like how often as survivor do you actually get 32k blood points? If there wasn't a limit people as you said people would just specialize on one area and screw the other survivors out of those points.
What if one of the survivors has maxed out a category, but has to keep doing that task in order to ensure escaping? Wasted points.
When I maxed out objective points, I have little incentive of doing gens. Which could potentially lead to survivors losing the match.
-
@ilovedbd123 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/220218/remove-the-point-limit
It's because it removes the point of taking the game hostage. Imagine if the killer was AFK, you could just stand by him and get boldness points infinitely. And if you wanted to farm with the killer, as has happened to everyone, the killer can get almost infinite bp through destruction of Gens ect. This is why they do it, so the killer teaming with survivors doesn't benefit too much
The 32k point limit still exists. I just asked for the removal of the 8k limit.
Also, what has taking the game hostage to do with this`?

Not if it locks you out of builds or using what you want!
Its about as stupid as having killers that need addons to perform well (wraith and trapper especially)
BHVR is trying to remove that dependency, adding more is silly
Those builds are to gain more points. How are they locking you out of builds you might want?
-
@Chchchcheryl said:
I'd say because if everybody did one thing during a whole match and specialised, solo queue would be a disaster.
This would work with SWF but would inevitably end in a de pip for the killer due to chasing the designated chaser all round (seeing as likely they wouldn't find the specialised gen jockeys urban evading round the map as p3 claudettes and fog offerings!)
Furthermore, I think not forcing people to do different and varied roles all match every match would be boring and eventually make people's skills go stale
Idk though this is just my take
What about perks like Proove Thyself or the killer addons that give bonus points during the match? With those you max out the points in a category in no time. Proove Thyself 1 1/2 gens = maxed out objective points. Little incentive to keep doing gens from there on.
Wraith with Distressing and the Beast addon = 3 hits until he maxed out points.
Shouldn´t those perks/addons incentivise getting more points? With the current layout, they are useless.

There's no 'learn and adapt' aspect to this game except developing better basic mechanics and game sense. Basic mechanics doesn't stop/mitigate most killer's powers/perk and game sense won't help you when stopping/mitigating a power/perk requires a perk of your own.
'Learn and Adapt' would have legitimacy if Survivors could make accurate, educated guesses about who the killer was, instead of playing Reverse Russian Roulette with their perks.
Every killer has unique characteristics. That reveal who ot is at the beginning.
- trap boxes? Pig
- traps laying around? Trapper
- guy screaming with a chainsaw? Billy
- guy laughing while chain sawing? Bubba
- high pitched scream? Nurse
- gun shot? Mendslinger
- asthmatic laughter? Clown
- humming? Huntress
Etc, etc.

Also don't forget that they will also complain about a stagnating killer pool they face because gee golly nerfing a specific killer into the ground means no one plays them.
Yes. But instead of realizing that certain killers aren't fun anymore, they come to the conclusion that the current meta killer is OP and that it's the only reason they see him so often. Which then leads to more nerf threads.

I'm tired of having to suicide on hooks because there's no counterplay to a spirit running stridor, because ironwill no longer works then, walking doesn't work either. I've tried the scratch mark tricks and everything, man this is getting to the point I'm gonna quit this game if she doesn't get SOME kind of counter-play.
This here, ladies and gentlemen is why kill rates are high.
Survivors don't want to learn, adapt or improve.
They just want things made easier, because they couldn't be bothered.
And after everything was nerfed, they start to complain about survivor queues.
-
@illusion said:
What's sad is that it used to be the other way around. Killer queues were long and survivor queues were nearly instant. How times have changed.
That only happened during events, where survivors HAD to play killer, in order to get all the event points.

They should hold tournaments with decent prizes and balance around the outcome.
Last year, we had a streamer organized tournament with a prize pool of 15.000€. We need something like that.
Hardcore players could show what's possible and new or average players could learn some things.
Tournaments helped LoL and R6.

I remember back when DS had to activate by wiggle progress or automatically when getting picked up but they changed that due to juggling but one time i tried using enduring because DS stuns the killers and enduring lowers the recovering time so i feel like one of the things they should do is have enduring work also on DS the only other thing i could think of for a nerf is that the obsession has to automatically use DS when being picked up or just have the timer on DS lowered
Before DS got "nerfed" the last time. Killers could dribble survivors to the hook.
- survivors complained and the amount of times a survivor could be dropped before breaking free was reduced from 5 to 3.
Killers then started using Enduring to reduce the stun time from DS.
- survivors complained and DS isn´t affected by Enduring anymore.
- survivors kept complaining and DS was "nerfed" to what we have now.
- the reduced drops and the Enduring nerf were never reversed.
-
@Sluzzy said:
It's already been heavily nerfed five times. A decisive strike should not be on a timer and it should not be decided by the killer. It was already overnerfed.
I wish killer perks got "nerfed" like this.

Hey, about farming - while we do not encourage or condone farming, it becomes mainly an issue mainly if someone is being griefed into farming, e.g. they're forced to do gens on their own or locked into a corner by a survivor so the killer can kill them. We do not recommend it as it can be difficult to see if everyone was okay with it.
Could you elaborate on the gen repair thing?
How is this considered griefing?

IN one case they stepped in a trap I forgot about going to save someone, and that person went second state- and then like...RNG dunked on them for so long they died before they got out of the trap (or she wasn't trying after a bit or something idk).
The other one yeah, just killed himself on hook.

how are we supposed to do the event other than stick to killer, unless you wanna wait 10 minutes. Still been trying it with solo and with 4, same
Then you start the lobby as killer and get 4 toolboxes.
I mean, really? Why rush gens when you wait 10+ minutes for a match? It gives bonus points. Why not max them all out? Why only objective points?!

oh trust me there's no wonder, It's obvious people are fed up with how unfair it is
Yet whenever killers complain, we get people that claim that killer is easy, high kill rates, killers just want 4ks, etc.
Killer needs to be fun, if survivors want shorter queues. Yet we have people that go out of their way to ruin the killers fun. Harassing killers after the match, by leaving toxic messages on their profiles.
It's almost like they want to have long queues.

Killers just want an EZ 4K every game. Playing killer is the easiest it's ever been. I main Legion and Pig at rank 1 and I usually get 3-4 kills. The only problem is a SWF team that really knows how to play well. Those aren't all that common though.

We all know how stupid it feels to get camped on the Killers First Hook.
This is the Idea. A survivor right now needs 120 sec. to die on Hook...
Why not use the Hook counter for something good. If you have 1 Hook, the time for s survivor to die is 180 sec. On his 2 Hook a survivor needs 160. The 3 one takes 140. 4 needs 120 and for every other hook the time for a survivor to die Take 100 sec. That means 50 sec. on secound state.
A Killer who Camp get punished and a Killer who don't get a benefit.
Thank me later
Oh cool, so survivors can ignore the first hook, finish all gens and still get that survivor out.
Doesn´t sound OP at all

68% is closer to 75.
If they were getting 2 kills on average the percentage would be closer to 50.
Why does it matter what circumstances caused the survivor to die???
In black and white it pretty much means that survivors on average will go into matches to die and killers will most of the time walk away with a 3k.
It matters a lot.
Yesterday 2 survivors suicided on the first hook, despite of the fact, that only 2 gens were left. So they clearly could have won, but chose to suicide. This happens a LOT and artificially inflates the kill rates.
