Don't tunnel. Don't slug. Don't use hex perks. There. Nerfed all three perks and made them completely useless leaving the survivor with only one other perk.
Thats like recommending survivors that don´t like the hard skill checks of Huntress Lullaby, to not do gens.

@Orionbash said:
Bruh. You had a legitimate Rank 14 in your lobby who you basically tunneled out of the game as evident by their points. No fear of DS either as there's no obsession perks. And then you couldn't juggle 3 other survivors quickly enough to pip? Lol. WITH NoED? Bruh. BRUH. BRUHHHHHHHH.
Bruh... the rank 14 had 9k points. Where is that tunneling?!
I've seen survivors escape with 11k points.
-
First of all, how do you know you are playing against VPN killers?
-
I fully support the statement of DS being useless and recommend every survivor to equip something more useful like SC or NM (preferably in combination)

Hopefully they'll add a second objective soon, and one that's fun at that rather than holding M1 and hitting the occasional skill check.
People suggested gas cans of different grades (items) that can be refilled in special places and used to refill gens.

Not always. For me, around half my lobbys are all red ranks, the other half can have literally anything. Just recently I´ve had a rank 18, a literal rank 20 and two rank 1s. It seems anything goes, propably because of the crazy Survivor qeue times past noon.
Well yes, i think, that after a certain time, the matchmaking just takes what it gets. It might even ignore the region, just to get quicker matches.

Although maybe not required, definitely something that if they didn't do it would always cause harm and for a long period of time rather than just the end of the match (such as slower gen times and/or a decreased movement speed) however something that is required for the survivors to do is an alternative that is as good, or possibly even better.
The community suggested several times things like Gas cans or fixing cables as additional objectives. But so far, there seems to be no sign of the devs implementing something like that.

I too understand why some killers use Noed. With all the survivors who do use second chance perks, the gen speeds that can often be too quick and the bad matchmaking, Noed can help those who struggle. I'd love if there was a second objective, and some survivors make totems their second, but right now, they don't serve enough purpose to do so
The secondary objective would have to be something obligatory and not something optional. Otherwise, survivors will just ignore it, like they do with totems.

How am I supposed to know if my other team mates did them? Like I said, I play solo. Should we all just play SWF so your argument is valid?
You can´t blame the killer if your teammates are bad. Well, since it´s surprisingly easy to assemble a full SWF team on the official Discord server, i´d say yes.

Classic Baby Killer comment. I mean you Facecamp others because the survivors were bored and made there only objectiv?
See? Killers could stand in front of the hook. And prevent survivors from unhooking. They bodyblocked the hook, so no one could even attempt a save. That was removed, since survivors can unhook from every angle. Oh and could you please refrain from insulting? Much appreciated.

As someone who plays a lot of killer (as mentioned in a previous comment, about 50/50) survivors sometimes rush gens like there's no tomorrow. Not always. I'd say 1 in 6 or 7 games. Adrenaline isn't even an overpowered perk and it rarely comes in huge use.
I look down at Noed as like mentioned, it rewards killers who haven't been able to apply enough pressure even normal games, something I'm able to do as Clown without Noed. If its paired with other endgame perks then I'm mostly fine with it as they are using a build that isn't focused on killing, but rather just messing with survivors at the end, but if they're using Noed, especially in a meta build, then yes, I will consider them a bad killer for using Noed with it getting them usually a kill they wouldn't have had otherwise.
I don´t like using NOED myself. Because the devs only look at the deaths and not at the hooks and NOED gives more kills, when there should be less.
But, i fully understand every single killer who uses NOED. Because, lets be honest. With all the second chance perks, survivors have become lazy af. No need to heal, got Adrenaline. No need to go for the unhook, he just entered struggling, so we can finish the gen and then go for the unhook, no need to do bones, etc.

I play solo, do all the totems I find and don't avoid healing most of the time. Why should I, as someone who went for saves, did gens etc get punished by being one shot because the killer couldn't keep up?
You don´t get punished for it. Do all totems = no NOED.
People behave like NOED instantly drops every survivor once the gens are done. When all it does, is take a healthstate away from healthy survivors.
There are 5 totems and 4 survivors. If everyone does a single totem and 1 survivor sacrifices himself to do 2, then there won´t be NOED. Like never. But the secondary objective, survivor ASKED for seems just to much for them.

Dude what are you talking about?
"Gen Rush" dosen't exist. You can always go to a gen and pressure the survivor. If you can't even do that... get gud!
And Noed should not reward a Killer for playing that badly.
Gen rush exists just as much as face camping after the introduction of swivel hooks.

And if they leave it that late after the survivors succeeding at their objectives and the killer failing their objective so far they don't deserve that boost with Noed.
@Marigoria said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1909496#Comment_1909496
Rewards killers for wasting time? It surely does not reward you because you got a lot of downs/hooks.
Survivors rush gens like there is no tomorrow. Ignoring totems and even avoiding to heal, because they are protected by DS and have Adrenaline.
Yet they look down on killers for using NOED. Calling it a failure, when the killer has a couple of endgame perks, that are specifically designed to not let anyone escape.
-
Survivors using DS and doing gens instead of healing: eat my DS or slug me.
Also survivors: slugging isn´t fun!
Like... don´t you see the reason behind slugging?
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:

Adrenaline rewards survivors for succeeding at their primary objective. Noed rewards killers for failing their primary objective.
Actually no. The killers objective is to kill. Not protect gens. Doesn´t matter if 0 gens get done or all.

A good survivor doesn’t need DS, I do completely fine without the perk and it rewards playing poorly (Unless you get tunnelled which is a situation I’m fine with the perk). Some good survivors do run it and abuse it, and it does need to be changed in that sense.
Adrenaline is much more debatable as it rewards survivors for playing well and completing the generators, however I’m not a fan of the perk and I prefer using other perks that help me multiple times throughout the trial.
Adrenaline is the same as NOED. With the difference, that the killer can´t prevent it by doing bones.

It rewards killers for playing poorly with cheap kills. A good killer doesn’t need it.
You mean, like a good survivor doesn´t need DS? Or Adrenaline?

@NoOneKnowsNova said:
NoeD. As a 50/50 player I'd much rather this perk be a rewarding perk (Like getting rewarded for a certain amount of hooks) than be a perk that rewards you for playing poorly.
How does NOED reward survivors for playing poorly? I mean, they failed to do bones.

Sprint Burst used to be 20s and tied into exhaustion recovering while running.
DS used to be you couldn’t even hook a survivor and they would stun you.
BT used to apply to the unhooker as well.
How were any of these buffed.
BT only worked ONCE. Now you can use it as often as you want.
Killers could dribble survivors to the hook and thus avoid DS.
-
If you see a gen at 80% and regressing. Do you stay around to finish it or do you ignore it and go for another fresh gen?
-
@Mdawgu said:
DS has actually been nerfed five times.
Fun fact: killers could dribble survivors to the hook, in order to prevent DS. Devs then reduced the max amount of times a survivor could be dropped before wiggling free. Some time later, killers couldn't drop survivors anymore to avoid DS.
Killers also used Enduring to reduce the stun effect of DS. Devs first increased the stun time to compensate and later removed the DS reduction effect from Enduring.
Oh and the reduced time a survivor could be dropped + the Enduring nerf both stayed when DS became the unavoidable thing we have now.
Imagine Undying was "nerfed" like this.

quit this nonsense whining
"Buff" it's weaker than Haunted Grounds. That one gave you at least the exposed status when you cleansed it. Just take Thrill of the hunt, if you want to protect a totem. Much more efficient than Undying.

Devs shouldn't ignore them. But I don't think they see it as a problem, so far.
-
Survivors not enjoying the killer/map/gen progress/teammates/weather = just gonna suicide on the first hook. Because it's my right to do so.
Killer not enjoying the same situation and having no way to end the match without a penalty = we need to punish this!
Double standards at their best.

And how many people are running Undying with Devour now?
Undying was always supposed to be a general Hex protection perk but the current implementation wasn’t working like that and it’s only real usage was with Ruin.
there will be killers using Undying with another Hex perk (with stacks). It won’t get to be Meta perhaps. But not every perk is supposed to be Meta. And Hexes were definitely never supposed to be as strong as Undying+Ruin was on certain killers.
Hex perks should be strong. They are high risk after all. Any perk that can be simply removed by the other side should be strong.

Are you seriously asking what's bad about more RNG in this game....
I like the hex effect, I'm not against it being a way to prolong a hex totem, but I don't like when the outcome of said effect can range from "normal" to "######### absurd" when you've used up all that time running around the map to cleanse 4 hexes because you didn't roll the dice good enough all the while your team's getting slaughtered.
Whats wrong about doing totems? They give a ton of points and you prevent a possible NOED.

So keeping your tokens for Devour Hope is a nerf? Let’s be real, Undying+Devour Hope wasn’t a thing at all but might be viable now.
they nerfed some aspects but also buffed other aspects of the perk. The current Undying was almost only usable with Ruin.
No, Undying DH won´t be viable at all. Haunted Grounds has at least the exposed status effect. But do you see many killer running around with HG DH? I haven´t seen any in ages. Same will happen to Undying.

It's RNG in a game riddled with so much of it already. Undying was the thing that tipped it over the edge. It's the same as other hexes, but when it worked well, it worked wayyy too well. And it let high mobility killers keep survivors off all their totems as well as their gens because lmao 6 seconds of map-wide aura reading around every totem who needs to run Thrill amirite. It's now consistent. We don't know if it's still gonna be a good perk, personally I think it'll still be a big part of the meta and everyone's overreacting, but the good thing is that people will stop relying on the RNG for ruin and undying to be effective.
And whats bad about being RNG?
Remember they are Hex perks. Which are supposed to be high risk, high reward perks.
But as it stands now, Undying is just a high risk, low reward perk. As so many other Hex perks.
Undying Ruin rewarded killers for being pro active and applying pressure everywhere. Which i think is a great way, so everyone can enjoy the match. Lazy killers that camped or tunneled didn´t get anything out of that combo.
-
@Mooks said:
Undying doesn’t even get nerfed but rather get reworked to get better synergy with all Hex perks.
the only thing getting deservedly nerfed is the Ruin+Undying combo.
mane ‚survivor babies‘ didn’t even cry THAT much about it, there were always more complaints about Noed for example. Which doesn’t get nerfed now, does it? Seems like the devs had more reason for this change.
Undying received a hard nerf. It´s now a weaker Haunted Grounds. Even Thrill is better for protecting Devour Hope.
-
Right now you would get a potatoe killer.
Because the game tries to balance around the lowest rank.
BUT nobody knows how it will work with the new MMR.
EDIT:
There is also the problem, that right now, the matchmaking is kinda crazy. As it throws all kind of players together.
-

It prevents them from doing 4.9 gens and farming the killer for points with minimal threat.
It brings the completion time of the killer and survivors objective marginally closer where the killers is still way slower in comparison.
But thats not bad. I really don´t get all the hate for Undying.
-
@Zozzy said:

Because "applying pressure" actually has an impact with ruin up.
Without ruin that gen sits at 90% while you chase them allowing them to just finish it after being saved. With ruin that gen potentially degrades to 60% forcing a swf buddy off their own gen to stop regression or lose time.
And survivors find this worse than being camped and tunneled because...
-
I want to feel prepared for when a real killer enters my house. I stacked up on Flashlights and am prepared to run around the Couch.

Well it IS the problem.
Absolutly no doubt about it.

Bye you won't be missed. Also daily reminder that survivors have gotten more nerfs than killers in the past two years.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1905361#Comment_1905361
Yes because the person that is reliant on undying ruin tends to be a boring killer and/or the type that will get salty for the tiniest reasons. Its also BS considering no shortage of killers were doing perfectly fine prior to undying. Myself included in that statement. There's several ways to slow down gens. If anybody would like to quit when BNP is removed or iri hatchets they can close the door on their way out too.
How is a killer using Undying Ruin boring? He is playing exactly as survivors always wanted. He has to apply pressure by spreading the damage. He can´t camp or tunnel, because then Ruin doesn´t work.
So how is that boring?
-
Survivor queues are already long. Each day there are several threads about it. Yet people cheer when a killer says that he'll leave.
Solid survivor logic.
-
Undying Devour Hope won't be meta.
Why? Because Undying is just a weaker Haunted Grounds. Since it has no exposed status.
Even using Thrill of the Hunt would be a stronger combo.
-
@SilentPill said:

Seriously. The survivors will get 2-3 gens done within 2 minutes and then be like “stupid tunneling killer” and I gotta roll my eyes.
Gen times are insane if the survivors are not babies. Nerf ruin undying though.
I really do think the best option is to just run 1 shot killers and kill people on first hook in those types of games because there is no way you are getting 12 hooks in 4-5 minutes with how safe the maps are unless the survivors are terrible.
Right now, survivor queues are longer than the matches they play. Once the patch drops, this will get even worse.
Yet survivor mains don't see that it's in their benefit when killers are strong and a enjoyable experience.
-
@Shirokinukatsukami said:
Genrushing still lets the killer to play. Tunneling prevents a survivor from playing at all. Basically just on hook all game.
You can argue that genrushing isn't fun for the killer. Sure. But at least the killer can still play the game normally. A survivor who spends 95% of the game on the hook basically didn't get to play at all.
Whats the difference of "playing" a gen rush match, where all gens are finished in 2+ minutes and being face camped where you die after 2 minutes?
-
@Mugombo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1904446#Comment_1904446
Yeah cos they can gen rush and open the gates before the killer can even catch someone? Okay you’re either playing a different game or comepletely terrible at this one
So the killer catches you and it´s game over? You must be one of those survivors that instantly suicide on the first hook.
Even when the others did 3 gens before you were found.
-
If you see the 5 gens as the "lives" of the killer and that once all 5 are completed, he is on "death hook", because his match is about to end. Then there is absolutely no difference between tunneling and gen rushing.
-
@Mugombo said:
Tunnelling completely ruins the game for that survivor and they basically can’t play the game.
Even if survivors ‘gen rush’, the killer can still play the game.
Theres the difference.
Oh the killer can still play the game, when survivor completed all gens and escaped? Please tell me more!

Yup.... the same people that have whined endlessly about ruin are the same people that whine endlessly about camping. Unfortunately they fail to see the issue with their logic.
these are the same folks the devs balance the game around sadly.
It really is sad. Totems were not an issue and can completely ignored after the patch. But i predict a rise of NOED complain threads.
