If survivors can already bang out 5 gens in less than 10 minutes, how massive could those benefits be? Also, why are they necessary? Unless there is some major nerf coming to survivors, or major buffs coming to killers, I don't see why they would need boon totems.
10 minutes? I've seen 5 gens gone in 4 minutes. 3 when BNP were involved.

@Yatol said:
its a nerf was not because she was op, they said its because the guessing was unfun.
You know what's also unfun?
Losing 3 gens in a single chase.
-
It will be a perk that only activates when survivors "bless" a totem and which only stays active as long as there's a totem.
Since its "high risk" it will have massive benefits.

While I am nervous about the coming changes, Myers definitely needed an addon pass. Tombstone Piece is broken as hell. Add to the all the useless addons he has and changes are absolutely needed.
There was a way to avoid the Tombstone piece by entering a locker. That way he can only grab you and not kill you.
But I guess looking at his hand was to subtle.
Billy treatment it is

Gonna enjoy when u end up playing with zero perks.
I tried playing a couple of matches as Hag with 4 hex perks. I highly recommend it, if you want to know some nice hospital staff...
Almost got a heart attack from this combo.

Sure with the major playerbase being medium low skill playet her kill rate must be like 74%
Here you go. Last offical kill rates we got.
But they are exactly 1 year old.

Wraith.

If they make one exception because they know of an underlying condition, they should be able to make a second. As long as the new stronger addons don't increase the lethality of RNG then Pig buffs would be welcomed.
I think they make the nurse exception because of her past. Anyway, we´ll probably see details once the PTB goes live.

Nurse isn't used very often, would you buff her?
Pig has high kill rates because of an RNG power, its flawed at its core and needs heavy changes if not a full rework.
I know. But the devs look at the kill rates and buff/nerf accordingly. With the exception of nurse.
-
I wouldn't hold my breath for buffs. She probably gets nerfs, since her kill rate is quite high.

I didn't open the gates, someone else did. We were getting the survivor that was on the ground up. But thanks for contributing nothing to the discussion.
Altruism kills.
If the gate is open and a survivor is downed, you better get out.
-
Blood Warden should actually reset on a hook. Since the 2 minute endgame timer slows down whenever someone is hooked or downed.

They've said that they are mainly looking at add-ons that are either not used or they deem to strong, for Shape and Hag, I would probably only expect nerfs to:
Judith's Tombstone
Fragrant Tuft of Hair
Tombstone Piece
Mint Rag
Rusty Shackles
Along with buffs to other add-ons that are deemed useless most of the time.
(This is only speculation on my part, these are just the add-ons that I believe to be too game-changing in the current state of the game.)
The problem is, that Myers is a solid mid tier killer. His Tombstone addons have heavy downsides. Which is balanced. Most of his addons are perfectly fine. Unlike other killers like for example Nemesis, where most if not all of his addons are terrible.

Some killer addons will be updated, on some just the description is updated to be clearer
Is there an ETA for when this hits the PTB?
-
The thing that scares me about the addon changes, is that there are killers on the list that don´t need any changes like Myers and Hag.
They could get the Billy treatment for no reason at all.
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Apart from the Spirit change, the entire update consists of killer buffs.
/nerfs
-
Trapper:
- Tension Spring is meh. Because it only resets when a survivor escapes from the trap. Disarmed or catched survivors won´t affect it.
- Trapper Sack is useless. Having all traps from the beginning of the match should be standard. Not an addon that prevents you from repositioning traps. So you either instantly find the perfect spot for all traps, or you dig your own grave by placing them in a area where no one will ever pass.
Spirit:
- They turn a bug into a feature. Which will make playing against her much easier. Maybe to easy, we´ll see.
- Wakizashi Zaya sounds okayish. But would be OP with the next addon.
- Senko Hanabi will get a nerf pretty soon. That addon will cause Spirits to spam their power near vaults. I expect massive complain threads.
Addon update: I expect the worst. Since Myers and Hag are both on the list. When they actually should be the standard on how addons should look like. Since they offerer a great variety of playstyles that are completely different.
Perk Updates:
- Vigil: strong for SWF. Useless for everyone else.
- Babysitter: sounds okayish. But i doubt we´ll see more people using it.
- For the People: a significantl buff. Probably new meta perk.
- Hex: Retribution: still meh
- Hex: Blood Favor: sounds good. This makes it actually a viable perk.
- Hex: Third Seal: still meh
- Hex: Thrill of the Hunt: nice buff. This will make it a better protection perk than Undying currently is.
Kill Switch: nice, finally a quick and easy way to stop exploits.

FRESH MEAT!!!!!!
In all honesty though can we get The Butcher as a killer.
That would be nice. Even though, i doubt that Blizzard would allow this.
-
As survivor I'm having a blast. My escape rate skyrocket, because I get teammates that do gens. Occasionally I get some afk teammates. But I also get afk killers. So it evens out.
As killer it has been the usual 4 hooks before the gates are powered. Because I don't want to tunnel someone out early, just to get a chance. On top of that, I get the usual toxic messages after the match. So I just stick to survivor. Which is a shame.
But as long as the balance is like this, I'll stick to the easy roll.
-
Just do the gens and leave. The beloved gen rushing gameplay shouldn't be any different if the killer is afk in front of the hook.
Oh and there is no way that the killer gets double the points than survivors unless they run towards the killer.
Just cut the losses and get a 3 man escape.

I don't know but I encountered a Tombstone Myers yesterday and had the whole group mori'd within 5 minutes. I just went afk bc I didn't want to play anymore
Counter question: when survivors complete all 5 gens in 5 minutes or less. How is that any different?
Rushing kills is equally as unfun as rushing gens.
-
Just play survivor.
I really mean it. My escape rate as solo has skyrocketed. Even to the point where I equip full item farm builds.
When I play killer for a daily or challenge, I instantly regret it. So survivor it is. At least for the next 5 days...
-
Halloween update? New/reworked skins for the Myers family?
-
The problem with DH is, that since it's omnipresent, every killer expects it. So they time their lounge, to not hit during the I frame.
Solution: take something else, like SB or Lithe.

I doubt it. They have been collecting data for awhile and they probably wouldn’t release unless they were confident they had enough
Maybe a bug.

The reward system should toss out Iri shards or Auric Cells. Not Bloodpoints.
People that play a lot, already get a lot of bloodpoints for playing a lot.

Yeah you either get really good survivors or fresh installs. It’s really annoying
I think something went wrong with the sbmm. The last test felt so much better.
-
Yesterday I played 4 survivor matches (all solo). Escaped 3 times (2 and 3 man escapes).
Then the last match was a 4k. 1 of my teammates was 3 hooked (other survivors were hooked in between) and ended with 2500 bloodpoints. He wasn't afk. He just wasn't doing anything.

But I guess u have seen many posts of killers claiming against gen rush, don't u? Because gen rush is a problem indeed that many killers can't deal with.
I main surv and I'm against of gen rush. Most efficient play as survivor shouldn't be hold1.
Most of my solo survivor matches, the killer gets between 3 and 5 hooks by the time the gates are powered. It can't be the aim of the game that a killer barely gets his BBQ stacks and watches the survivors leave.
Where is the fun in a 5 minute match? If it was the other way around, killer getting a 4k in 5 minutes, the survivors would ask for heavy killer nerfs. But when survivors complete their goal in that time, it just called playing the game.
-
@Munqaxus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2510495#Comment_2510495
That's not gen rushing, that's called playing the game.
If that's playing the game. Then something needs to be done about it. Because if the killer goes for that still injured survivor, he gets called out as tunneler.
Devs nerfed healing in an attempt to slowdown the matches. It obviously failed, when no one heals, but does gens instead.
-
@Munqaxus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2510474#Comment_2510474
That's because gen-rushing is when you have a 4 man SWF, all with toolboxes and BNP and leadership. So there's really hardly any of those. Where as face-camping/proxy-tunneling is about every game now.
You don't need all that to gen rush.
Solos without toolboxes can and will gen rush.
A survivor who gets off the hook and goes for a gen instead of healing, is gen rushing.
-
@Artemisha said:
When u expose the problem of camp tunnel a lot of people just say "do gens". What a joy of game spending your time just holding m1 for 80 seconds. 3 survs bored on gens and 1 without being able to even play. Of course it´s a bad game design.
I've never seen a gen rusher complain about gen rushing. Since there are so many of them, I suppose they like holding m1.
-
Have you considered that the increase in "face" camping killers is based on the current gen speed and the killers struggle with it?

She can see scratch marks. Only way she cant see them is if she has mother-daughter ring and she can hear survivors footsteps, hear them if they vault, see grass moving, she can see when they disturb crows and if they dont have IW then she obviously can hear their grunts of pain and can hear normal breathing when survivors are uninjured
Survivors could also hear her footsteps (don´t remember if that bug was fixed or if it becomes a feature).
Anyway, the best way to deal with her is holding w whenever she starts to stand still, drop pallets early and always try to get something in between.
Honestly, this is getting nowhere. Her kill rate isn´t particuarly high and even if it were, its mostly because survivors insta quit against her (just like they did against Freddy). She´s a solid killer but nothing to be worried about (otherwise the devs would have already nerfed her hard). Just today i´ve seen similar threads/comments about Wraith, Oni and Hag.
If you have the feeling that you can´t go against her, just equip Iron Will, Lucky Break, Quick&Quiet and Poised or Dance with me.

I know how IW works. It's still not fair at all. Not everyone uses IW and it shouldn't be needed to play against her.
I doubt everyone uses IW just to stand a chance against Spirit.

Also playing on EU. EU West to be precise.
Then i don´t know whats the problem. Yesterday i had a killer queue of 3 minutes when i started playing at 17:00. Which got lower the later it got. At 19:00 i had a queue of 1 minute.

Spirit can hear grunts of pain, hear footsteps, see grass moving, etc. IW should not be needed to have a chance at winning. Survivors don't have any clue if she's phasing or faking it... She's also invisible when she's phasing. She definitely needs some tweaks. It's not fair at all.
She can´t hear grunts of pain when you use IW. Which is currently one of the most used perks anyway.
As i said, its a fair situation. Because both sides won´t see each other.

Especially billy
Same.
But sometimes it goes like: "get 4 hits after a blink while playing Nurse" skip "hit 4 survivors with a fully charged shred, while playing Demodoggo" skip "get 4 downs after fully exposing a survivor as Ghostface" (thats usually the moment my eye starts twitching)

Really? Weird.. I'm mostly playing killer too and my games are consistently sitting between 5-10 minutes (usually playing at prime time).
Maybe its a region thing. Playing EU.
-
Sorry to hear that. But just switch to survivor. At this point it should be clear that survivors are the desired power role.
On regard of the 45 minute queue, i can only imagine that it's because of the patch problem (X-Box). Because my PC killer queue is usually between 1 and 2 minutes (and getting shorter each day) but has never been longer than 5 minutes. So it might be a bug or something, when your queues are so long.

Correct

Undying before the nerf was atrocious, ruin could literally respawn 4 freaking times.
Btw the gens problem has been such since the game launched
That's why old Ruin was so popular. Killers struggled heavily with gens, when they nerfed it.
Old Undying Ruin was annoying. Sure, but you didn't had to cleanse all 5 totems. Because for one, there was no NOED (no space for it). Also Ruins regression only applied to gens that no one worked on. So it could be ignored.
New Ruin was announced as a endgame perk. Show me a match where Ruin still stands where there is only 1 gen left. Undying solved that. It made it actually possible that Ruin was still standing during the last gen.

"Kinda easy to beat"- Yeah, I'd like to see you beat a good Spirit player as a solo survivor. Even SWF groups have trouble playing against her. She has way too much information and the survivors have little to none. She is unbalanced and almost everyone can see it.
Edit- I have no problems with IW when I play as killer. Survivors are very easy to track down even with that perk. The only way I might lose the survivor is if they equip Lucky Break and IW together.
What information does she have?
When phasing:
- She can't see the survivor.
- She can't see the scratch marks.
- She can't see the blood stains.
- She can't hear the IW survivor.
So what is exactly the information she gets? Spirit facing IW survivors is a tie. Both sides get the exact same amount of information about the other side. It's the most balanced thing I can think about.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2507500#Comment_2507500
Iron Will is fine. You can still see scratch marks, blood, and hear foot steps (you can still see survivors with your eyes as well)... When Spirit starts phasing you have almost no information on what she's doing. IW is fine and Spirit is straight up broken.
Line of sight breakers are extremely strong with IW. Especially since walking survivors don't leave scratch marks.
Spirit is kinda easy to beat. Don't try to "mindgame" her at a pallet. When she stops moving, you run and vault.
Don't forget that she can't see you when she phases. No scratch marks, no blood and since Stridor was nerfed also no sound clues.

The primary play that I’ve seen every wraith do with this addon is go into cloak to see what exactly the survivor is doing at a tile and immediately come out of cloak to get the speed boost and utilize the wall hacks they get to know exactly what the survivor is doing. If they miss then they just cloak and repeat. It’s not interactive at all since the window to react is close to none.
My idea allows the survivor to have a chance to react while not “nerfing” the aura reading to where majority of players won’t notice. I have other ideas but this just seemed like the most fair.
Mmhhh sounds fair. I mean your idea.
