Strange argument which i never really understood. Just because 4 cooks are making a soup does not mean it will be better as if it would be cooked by 1 guy.
In fact, 1 brain playing all 4 survivors would be much superior. Thats why in "professional" comps there is always a leader aka caller who is responsible for all decisions.
Those cooks will inherently have have an advantage however. It's just the number game. Basically in most cases more people are going to have a superior advantage vs one person. Especially in video games think about it. Think about WWE games in handicap matches the 4 are always going to have the advantage. It's just a natural thing in life, even in most asymmetrical games the team with more player usually has the advantage just because they have more players. I don't know many games were the team with less people has an advantage.

I'm not convinced he even needs a buff at all. But we'll have to see.
I just really don't want him to turn into another Pyramid Head, or Trickster. Or Deathslinger. Becoming very oppressive in chases.
I think he would be trickster level annoying if he gets overly buffed. Essentially becoming a breaking chain simulator. However I do think he needs some small buffs. I don't pinhead should be able to break his own chains mainly.

well an that is the part why the limitation should be implemented for ppl like you. (Dont get me wrong) you seem to not really trying out the other perks otherwise you wouldnt call them niche or useless.
Can you you really blame me?
While I don't run the meta combos, I do run meta perks. I have tried to run full non-meta builds, but I would literally not get to use any of the perks. Mostly due to the perks being niche. You had to do certain things, or could only be used in certain situations which did not happened.

fun yes, strong ? no
Sure he is not blight strong. But he is not weak either. He is basically solid, he needs a small buff. But not a massive overhaul buff.
-
Not at all. I think people are overestimating how difficult he is. He is nowhere near as hard as nurse. He is kind of hard to use at the beginning but once you get the handle of his hook it becomes pretty easy to use. He might be hard on controller however.
-
I mean it's 4 brains (even thought at times it does not seem like it)vs 1 brain. So yeah clearly the team with more people usually tend to have the advantage, especially in video games.
-
It would be more ideal if the 90% of useless/niche perks got buffed, so people naturally use other perks. But naw let people use whatever perks they want it's a game.

I honestly hope they only buff Pinhead a little bit. I'd say increase the time it takes to break a chain by 0.5 sec. Also increase his gateway and chain distance by about 1/5 of what he currently has.
Every killer doesn't need to be a Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Billy.
We need some Trapper, Pig, Plague killers too.
He needs a buff. Mainly so that he can't break his own chains. But anything increasing his chains time would probably make him even more annoying. He is already is annoying to face getting grabbed by chains constantly. I feel he is not that hard to use at least based on me playing him. His chains are pretty easy to aim once you get the handle of them.
-
He is not weak lol. He can be strong. it's just that people don't know how to use his power. I seen a lot of pinhead miss or use their power in the wrong locations. If they buff him to much he is going to be annoyingly oppressive. He would easily become one of the top hated killers if he gets buffed significantly. He does need some buffs, but to much it would make him very annoying to face. Imagine having to constantly remove chains, it would annoying. Because he already is kind of annoying if the pinhead can aim.

Not everyone wants to run Undying and if the Perk is good enough you will absolutely have to look for it. Otherwise Boons are useless. The fact is there is only ONE Killer who is heavily restricted in time as is, you cannot afford to go totem hunting.
I don't know, but at least how it used to be in red ranks. I would see undying with ruin at least in half of my matches. So it's a pretty popular combo. But either way it's 99% confirmed at this point boon totems are coming. So just the bones if they do come.

The difference is is that they’re two different sides. If a killer looks for bones, gens will get done incredibly fast. There isn’t a time limit for survivors, as they control the speed of the game. If survivors are very good at hiding, they could take as long as they like to do bones and gens. Of course most survivors aren’t very good at hiding and most killers are good at finding survivors, but its still a plausible situation. For killers, they can’t exactly afford to look around the map for bones
Killer won't have to look for bones. If we assume undying works as is, then you would be able to see survivors. And we don't know if the perks are worth running, they might another batch of useless/niche perks. Or they may be like killer hex perks they may be high risk high reward perks. So they may be up for less then a minute, and overall be one less meta perk killers have to worry about.

I think the problem is time. Survivors have more time to find and do a totem and have many ways to locate it. Killers can't easily spend time to walk to a part of the map where there isn't a gen and look for a totem (assuming you have to look for them).
Well looks like it's pretty much 99% confirmed boon totems are coming. So lets see what the effects are for survivors :), hopefully something worth running.
-
Yep since last update. Although nothing game braking.

As the old saying goes killers do the bones :)

What I personally hope won't happen is that survivors can reapply a blessing once the killer snuffed a totem, otherwise we'll get a looney tunes like situation.
Also I hope that snuffing a boon totem won't destroy it, otherwise this would end in being quite a bit of an advantage to survivors.
Sounds like survivors have to light up totems. And killer has to extinguish them. That is what it sounds like. So I'm assuming they will add more totems. Since snuff is like burning out flames no? I guess me having detective hunch will finally allow me to change the build. I'm guessing they will be released, when the next survivor is comes out.

Pinhead is not weak lol. If he gets buffed too much it would be annoying. He is one of those killers who could be annoyingly oppressive. Getting grabbed in the middle of a loop, to get downed.

If anything, SBMM will only increase the sweat.
Think about it. This game tend to slide very heavily one side or the other. If you are not sweating it mean you are going against a bad killer or survivors. That or you are the side losing. "Equal" matches are the sweatiest of all, exactly because the players are on even skill.
What we can fully expect is a lot more survivors throwing themselves at the killer in the end game and killers showing more mercy at the hatch and doors, just to avoid bloating their MMR too fast and stay away from their inevitable sweaty skill ceiling.
I think sweaty players are just that, some people just prefer to play more sweaty in general. And honestly I have no problem, that is the way some people enjoy to play games. But the thing is I don't like to play sweaty. So If people play more chill even if they are at a high level then I'm gonna assume they will go down in the ranking system to a medium level. Since I'm going to assume the try-hards/sweaty users are going to be at the top of the ranking system. So I think people who play sweaty will always play sweaty, thus they probably will reach a high level quicker and be at the higher levels.

It'll likely still happen, tbh.
Hopefully it happens less frequently. I feel it's unfair for less experience players with like 50 hours in the game to get placed vs hardcore veterans with 6000 hours. Which happens frequently in the current system.

I agree. I like to meme around. Jumpscare Myers, just seeing how many quick scope shots with Deathslinger I can land, only using the chainsaw as Bubba and never using M1, not to mention weird perk loadouts just to see how they go.
I never ran meta stuff and never sweated for a 4k. DbD has never been that kind of game for me. For serious PvP, I have other games better suited for it. I don't take this game any more serious than I do Arsenal in Roblox, or did F13.
SBMM will be nice for me, as I'm pretty certain my MMR is low to mid, at best, and doubt I will ever climb all that high.
Everyone will have more equal matches. Now hopefully it reduces the sweat lol.
-
No I don't get upset about any video game anymore. I used to get upset about video games in general, but by that time I played dbd I got over raging for video games so no. Sometimes I used to make complain threads about the trickster but now I feel he is decent to play so not anymore.
-
Pop and eruption with brutal strength, or depending on the killer I may go with surge instead of brutal strength. I personally hate using ruin and facing it. It's annoying and it makes me finish gens quicker tbh.
-
No I'm gonna play however. Because I enjoy the content of the game, winning does not mean I had fun. I can win games by slugging, but I'm not having fun doing that. I enjoy chases I had games were I get 0 sacrifices but a decent amount of hooks, yet I still had fun. I'm not one of those who definition of fun is getting 4 sacrifices each game, or having having to escape each game.
-
Makes me wonder did the zombies react to the perk?
Or do zombies react to explosion notifications in general?
-
Played him during the ptb. He was moderately fun, but not my style of enjoyment. I going to buy mainly for the perks.
-
Either she has the best headsets in the world, or what everyone else is saying. Because yeah some of those movements did not make sense at all without any perks or add-ons. Especially how she knew exactly where you were standing at.

Sweaty players play against other sweaty players.
New Players won't get nuked by Veterans, maybe.
I've been waiting for this system for a while.
This is why they are putting this system in place. Imagine how frustrating it is for a 50 hour killer getting placed vs survivors with 6,000 hours each. And vice versa for survivors.
-
Some people just got to accept they won't escape each match, or get 4 sacrifices each match. Most people who are complaining about SBMM are ones who wanna get their 4 sacrifices each match, or escape each match. Ultimately just accept you will win some and lose some it's how life works, even they wrote their goal is to have people win some and lose some. This is the issue a lot have rather than the excuses they may make. Because at the end of the day 90% of the people who play this game don't care that SBMM is coming. Because majority of players are casual, even they wrote on their update that this to help low/medium ranks players, aka causal players. Because it's unfair to those that have 50 hours getting places vs a killer who has 10,000 hours, same thing could be applied to killer. A 50 hours killer getting placed vs survivors with 5,000 hours each. Just give it a chance to see how it is, because that is really the only option at the end of the day.
-
I'm looking at you in the eye...
I'm going to tell you this is why SBMM would have helped you XD To not get placed with people who have more experience then you.
-
The cowboy guy 🤠
The one with chainsaw however
-
I was originally thinking about a casual mode but the try-hards would probably still play it. So it would be ideal to add multiple games modes at this point. Like a survive mode. Were all survivors have to do is survive for 15 minutes, so it's purely about chases and nothing more. All the killer would have to focus is on chases, and all survivors would have to focus is on chases as well lol, no gens. Just some new fresh modes would be fun. And either way the player base is larger than ever, so this split base is up is moot at this point. It made sense 2 years ago, but today with a semi large active player base and cross-play on it holds no ground.
-
He is annoying as can get. But pretty much what you said can be applied to any killer lol.
-
Yeah would be the strongest since he would essentially have the survivors exposed at all times, and be able to zoom across the map with relative ease.
-
Yes.

I guess alot of killer must be stomping bad survivors if most killers are having the same complaints. Killers are not meant to 4k every game but they should also not feel like they don't have a chance at winning. If you go against 4 good survivors most chances are you will lose. Simple as that. And people already know how unbalanced the game is. We all should lose some and win some yes but not to the point where killer is miserable.
Hate to break it to you...
But yep that is the case. The majority of survivors are not good, just because they are in red rank does not mean they are good. There could be a killer with 5000 hours going up against red rank survivors with 50 hours. And even more for killer. Since red rank killers tend to play more than red ranks survivors. Which is why this is a good thing because I'm pretty sure statistically most red rank killers win a good amount. So the numbers may be inflated for the high ranks. With this as they wrote on their update, could show a clearer picture.
-
Agreed they need to increase the reward.
-
You mean dead hard right?
-
Maybe then a survive mode. Were it's basically survivors have to survive for 15 minutes, no gens. So it's purely about chases and stealth. Now of course some perks would not be usable. But killer would only have to focus on chases, in other words the fun part about the game. Not worrying about gens and whatnot.

But you won't be at the highest levels of play.
Unless you expect to 4k every game, you most likely will NEVER be near that level of survivors.
Survivors who are optimal and escape every game will never meet killers like you. If MMR works the way it's intended (which from the experiment, it seems to be), then you won't suffer as a consequence of it.
I don't know why people are freaking out lol. Most of the players are not at that level lol. This is more of a them wanting to get 4 sacrifices every game or they are not happy. Even the dev said the goal is to have players win some and lose some.

There's no way they don't know the issues the top %'s face.
They may not. Since think about it ranking up as killer is easy. And for survivor it's so-so. But hypothetically say there is a rank 1 killer with 5000 hours and he gets placed vs rank 1 survivors with 100 hours. The killer is going to get the 4 sacrifices since the match placed him vs rank 1 survivors with low experience. So statistically the top rank killers may have an even stats right now, since they throw killers vs either bad survivors or good survivors. When this systems goes live they may see a pattern however. So I rather wait and see what they do next.

@BrokenSouI said:
Welp. Time to delete DBD. Maps are ######### trash. Gen speeds are ######### trash.
SBMMR does NOT work for killer at the highest level. Who the ######### wants sweat fests EVERY single match. Who wants matches done in 5 minutes and 3-4 hooks ?
Horrible news
Is it really? While I do agree while MMR was on killer matches were extra sweaty. Overall they did write that they would see how the top 5% performs. So maybe in the long run this would bring better buffs for killers.
-
I wish more survivors would break totems tbh. I usually run detective hunch's just for that to break all totems. Just in case the killer has NOED. I can tell you most survivors ignore dull totems lol. But there is nothing more satisfying then a killer realizing his NOED did not activate. There has been matches were I seen killers DC at the end of the match when they realize their NOED did not activate.
-
Just for the perks enough said.
-
NO the hardest challenge is in the first archive. Deplete 3 keys or something like that. That challenge is the hardest since it can't be complete...The challenged is bugged. Not escape with the key or using an add-on will complete it.
-
Used to be easier since there was no end game. But now a days it's hard since it all comes down to luck. Best route would be with an friends, or hope that the killer shows mercy, or hope you get good RNG that the doors are far from each other.
-
Can you really blame both sides?
Since 80% of perks are useless or niche. I tried different builds but I would hardly get to use the perks. That is why I'm not a fan of perks being nerfed.
-
I like the map for both sides. Contrary to the original thought process that people had, which everyone assumed it was going to be survivor sided due to it's size. But I actually think the map for most killer is decent. It can go either way due to killers able to locking down a 3 or even 5 gens in the map. It can get nasty with hag in particular since she can block the access to half of the map literally. But if survivors are smart they can split the pressure and prevent a three gen.

The reworked maps have been given total dead zones, and co-op gen speeds have also been nerfed since release.
Yep I seen maps with zero pallets in corners of the map. The maps are balanced as ever. With the the exception of the large maps, most medium size to small maps are pretty fair. I also played in maps such as the other day, were nothing but LT tiles spawned in coal tower.
-
I hope they get a rework so they aren't the slugging machine they are now.
-
I think huntress is probably the most annoying, it sucks getting hit 5 feet away with a hatchet.
-
Overrate perk. Just make it so people can't dh through traps, and when directly hit by hatchets/deathsliner weapon that should damage survivors.
