I wouldn't mind Iri Head if
- it had a minimum range requirement; aka, it was only an insta-down from a certain distance, and from any distance shorter than that it worked the same way regular hatchets do. WHAT exact distance? I do not know, but Huntresses who use their Iri Head like an insta-down melee infuriate me. If you're actually skilled and can snipe me from across the map then you deserve the insta-down.
OR
- the add-on actually "disabled" Infantry Belt, so that it was ACTUALLY one hatchet. I've watched a couple of streamers who play a nice Huntress try Iri Head without the Infantry Belt, and it seems balanced enough imo.
And the hitboxes need some fixing for sure.
-
I don't think purple rank killers should be facing rank 1 survivors, so that's awful matchmaking imo. You should specially not be facing rank 1 survivors if you're playing a killer you're "new" at, but current matchmaking doesn't take that kind of thing into account. We can only hope future MMR system fixes this mess a bit...
There's also an OoO there which makes things even worse lmao. But I guess it's not broken because "survivors who run it don't escape more often than survivors who don't" am I right??? :)
-
Definitely yes. I also believe the survivors' mechanic to expose him should be more reliable because it's buggy as #########... and in exchange, he shouldn't be able to be exposed from people who are hooked. I don't even play Ghostface but the fact that revealing him from the hook is a thing seems ridiculous to me, idk what you guys think about it?

This is why you always have to encourage, new players especially but everyone in general, to play both sides: it makes people see things from only one side, something I only broke myself recently when I invested in my survivor side;
And I must say, it feels like you opened up your third eye once you get a good feel for how it is for both sides.
Indeed! When I first bought the game I played 99% survivor for a long while, and back then when I played killer it was in very low ranks where people tend to be more chill in my experience, so I did not know what the "true" killer experience was like, and thus I misjudged a lot of situations from my survivor-only POV if that makes sense. Then I started to play more killer, got to rank 1 and continued to play in red ranks somewhat consistently (I tend to depip a lot when I'm practicing Nurse lmao), and I started perceiving a lot of things that as a survivor I had not noticed before.
It's like half of the DBD experience (and toxicity, lol) is hidden from you if you haven't actually played both sides. Basically, awful people are in both sides and you only truly notice when you go against them. You also truly understand what it's like to play survivor and what it's like to play killer when you actually play those roles. Watching the other side from afar without being in their shoes is very, very different & inaccurate imo.
-
I mostly play SWF; I sometimes do play solo Q, but when I'm by my own I'd very much rather play killer instead.
-
I don't mind people asking for things to be more balanced, no matter if I agree with them or not. So I don't really mind the posts asking for nerfs/buffs for killers or perks or whatever.
What does get very old are those posts where someone is like "hey I would like this licensed character to be added into dbd!" and then the replies are filled with douchebags going into a full rant about why that character would not fit into dbd or why they don't personally want them in dbd. Specially because most of the things ppl ask be added into dbd are actually reasonable, but other folk decide to reply aggressively for no literal reason.
-
I just wish they had less slugging/camping potential and more everything else potential if that makes sense.
-
Freddy, because he gets everything done with little to no input and without needing any skill whatsoever.
-
Both sides are toxic and anyone who believes a side is not toxic is deluded.

Didn't you read the last sentence, about how killers could be balanced around it. Imagine old undying coming back because swf is now permanently an option in every game friend or not. Or no more nerfs to things like pop or other killer perks. Maybe even a bp boost to BBQ. The things they could do to balance it would be endless, and to be honest I'd rather that then have an instant loss against swf. This system allows for it all to be accounted for and therefore balance the game state
This. I think that the best thing the devs could do is make soloQ as powerful as SWF giving them communication tools (that SWF already has), and then buffing the killers + buffing/reworking perks around that. Perks that are redundant when you're in comms (like Kindred, Bond, etc) could be changed into something else, and perks/killers that are specially weak against comms (say Trapper for example, or hex perks, or literally anything else that applies, I'm typing as I think so I might forget some stuff lol) could be buffed/changed so that they can face SWF more properly, since every match would become SWF-ish.
Comms are not going away. The devs might as well provide the comms tools to soloQ players and balance the game around that.

I always say that Leader, Prove Thyself and We'll Make It are not meta only because second chance perks are. If second chance perks were nerfed to the ground or made more unreliable, this would be where the meta would be at.
-
It is definitely not the same. The killer is able not to tunnel and go for someone else, and that doesn't mean that they are giving up their objective. If a survivor is off gens (aka not genrushing) when the killer does not have pressure on him (aka someone is hooked, people are slugged or the very same survivor is being chased) he is literally giving up his objective. One could argue that he could do bones, which yes, indeed he could! But most of the time he should be on gens.
Survivors' objective is to complete gens, open the gates and leave. Killers' objective is to kill. Downing and hooking people fast, be it tunneling or not, is the equivalent to genrushing. Not solely tunneling.
UNLESS by "genrushing" you mean carrying toolboxes + BNP + etc in which case I would agree, sort of. But I've been called a dirty genrusher solely for sitting on gens while my teammates were being chased and I was like (?) what else am I supposed to do, lol.

as you said 250k isn't too much. Just keep playing swf if you don't want to play solo
But that's my point. It's only 250k BPs. If the point of this is to encourage people to play solo instead of SWF, it wouldn't be very effective since it's not that many BPs to begin with.
-
Lmao no. Having 1000+ hours in the game, I find solo-Q very boring and would very rather play SWF, thank you. And it's 250k BPs we are talking about, not 250M. Lol. No point in going through a trillion boring solo Q matches to gather 250k BPs that will disappear in like 5 bloodweb levels or some ######### like that lmao.
-
I don't even use custom perk icons, but they are absolutely harmless so I don't see why not.
-
YES. This is the one thing I want the devs to implement the most. Then I could watch the opposite role's perspective and learn a thing or two from how they played against me, and as a survivor I could see what the heck my teammates were doing when I was looping the killer for five whole minutes lmao. It would be very useful for telling if someone was hacking, too. So YES.
-
Wouldn't mind them if they were nerfed so that only the survivor that has the key can escape through the hatch. But in their current state, they definitely shouldn't be showing up randomly in chests.
-
Not yet! I plan on prestiging all the survivors, but it's not yet Quentin's turn. Currently working on Zarina :)
-
I can do without any exhaustion perk but Adrenaline, you will take Adrenaline off my cold, dead hands :(
-
My Legion build is Discordance, PGTW, Enduring and Spirit Fury. Never respect a single pallet, in fact it's quicker to get out of your power by getting stunned by a pallet with Enduring than getting out from it manually.
You can switch Discordance for BBQ if you want!
-
A friend of mine usually runs Wake Up, she has managed to escape a couple of times because of it lol.
-
Please don't suicide on hook.
I would love to listen what this so-called Spirit counterplay is, though. Because as long as she's running Stridor, there's little to nothing you can do against her when she's using her power, except for gambling. Playing against Spirit is constantly flipping a coin and praying for the best. Against other killers, there's usually stuff you can do: juke, fake vaults, some specific things like doubling back against the Nurse when she's mid-blink, or idk crouching against the Huntress to avoid her hatchets to give a few examples.
Against Spirit's power? Please DO tell me, I'd love to learn!
-
I am with you my guy, I do hope it's Springtrap because I want him for DBD! But honestly I'm just hype for whatever it is, because it will most likely be a licensed chapter.

People really calling for WGLF nerfs I cannot lol
You all just want there to be no counter to slugging huh?
Who mentioned any WGLF nerfs???

Dead Hard is fine and is one of the few perks that survivors have which offers interesting gameplay and decision-making on its own.
Unbreakable can lose its recovery speed buff. Tenacity (Tapp's perk) already is the perk for recovering while slugged.
Decisive strike should de-activate as soon as a survivor touches a generator or begins cleansing a totem.
Iron Will needs whatever sound bugs fixed that make it so you can hear footsteps again.
We'll Make It goes down to +50% healing speed, duration to 30s. This perk is ridiculous and destroys killer momentum if they don't camp. It is sleeper meta in my opinion.
Right now, the perk combination of DS / UB functions as an extra hook state for survivors, because if you don't chase them they will get 60 seconds to do whatever they want, and if you down them you cannot advance your win condition of hooking them. It turns the already rarely feasible 12 down 12 hook game into a 16 down 12 hook game, which isn't going to happen. Hence, killers end up having to tunnel people down and play close to hook.
I think most of the overbearing killer perks have been ironed out.
Oooh the recovery speed from Unbreakable could be even transferred to Flip Flop, I think. It would still be a niche perk, but it would be more viable that way. I agree that UB letting you pick yourself up AND giving you extra recovery speed is too much for one perk.
We'll Make It is crazy strong, it's one of my favorite survivor perks lmao. The only reason it's not actually meta is because there are a bunch of second chance perks that outshine it, but that's it.
-
I haven't been able to play for over a week because my PC is on maintenance and I can confirm my mental health has improved a bit lmao but I wanna play again anyway because when people are not being toxic it's fun
-
Oh boy this has happened to me a few times and it's the most infuriating thing ever lmao

I'd be the collector if I'm collecting bones from totems. I'm always the guy that makes sure there's no totems left on the map when the last gen pops
Literally same lol. Nice pfp king.
-
I made one of these a while ago. Twins would probably be "annoying but ok" tier.
Clown is there because his powder thingy makes me dizzy and confused. There are powerful killers that I find annoying (Spirit, Freddy, Hag) and powerful killers that I find ok and even fun to play against (Nurse, Billy, Blight) so fun is not only determined by how powerful a killer is okie.
Pig would probably be more fun to face if my teammates didn't turn into panicking potatoes the moment she gives them a hat.
-
Some of the replies to this post perfectly reflect the reason why DS+UB+DH+BT is meta. And y'all then have the nerve to complain about those perks, lmfaoooo
-
Coldwind, definitely. Can't wait to see whatever it is they will do to corn. Haddonfield is a close second, though.

this post is old af but someone found it again a few days ago but you'll be happy to know i did end up with demo
Oh heck I did not notice lol but I'm happy to hear that nonetheless! :D
-
I don't really mind it. Like yeah it's a boring playstyle but meh. I'll take slugging over tunneling and face-camping any day.
-
Finishing gens in front of you is not toxic, it's just the survivors' objective in the game. It sure is frustrating when this happens to you as a killer but what are they supposed to do??? Let you apply PGTW??? Or let it regress with Ruin??? I'd rather not take any risks thanks.
Teabagging in general is toxic so yeah.
-
More love for Demoboi mayhaps? :(
-
I buy all chapters so yeah. When I got this one in particular I was relatively new at the game, too, so I didn't even know or care about DS. Overall I think I was more hype about playing as Mikey lmao

I like that there's two threads on the Recent Discussions, back to back, one about nerfing Iridescent Head and one about nerfing Survive with Friends. One is an addon only Huntress has, has a negative effect on Huntress (fewer hatchets), costs a ton of blood points and gets consumed after use, and requires a tremendous skill ceiling to use effectively. The other affects killers of all ranks and types, requires no blood points, takes up no perk/addon slot, and lends tremendous information advantages to everybody involved no matter the skill level.
Gosh, I wonder which issue is more likely to be addressed with a sweeping nerf.
There's little to nothing that the devs can do to "nerf" SWF. Maybe change some tools that they abuse (OoO and keys) but that's it. If anything, solo Q could be "buffed" so that it would become as powerful as SWF, and then the killers could be balanced around that. Maybe.
Devs can do literally nothing to stop SWF teams from being on comms and sharing information with each other during the match. Literally. Nothing. The core element that makes SWF powerful, which is comms, cannot be changed by the devs. And people will continue to play with friends, because playing with friends is way more fun than playing alone.
-
Hopefully the devs see this post. Not like it's actually gonna change anything but maybe they will give the whole situation some thought. It's not a dev-only problem, of course, but yeah. Very few games could actually get away with the kinda stuff that DBD /is/ getting away with, lol.
-
Freddy and Spirit are the ones I see the most for sure.
Lots of Bubbas since his rework. And a fair amount of Huntresses and Onis, too.
Then there are killers that I rarely see, but when I do they are always rank 1, like Blight and Pig lol
-
For the People, and also Camaraderie if we count anti-camping perks.
-
I am currently on an identity crisis trying to find my actual main(?) but Legion is the killer I have the most hours in so yeah. Spirit comes second but she's so boring to play. Like I said, I wanna main someone else. Currently trying out Doctor and Slinger.
-
I like them honestly.
-
I don't think it's OP but I also don't think it's fair? Being eliminated from the match when it has barely even started, without even being given the chance to do anything at all about it, is absolutely not fair. Like there's literally nothing you can do as a survivor. No hook states, no further loops, no anything, the dude catches you ONCE and you're out. It's bad for the game's health imo.
-
Absolutely yes! Idk why the M1 requirement is even a thing.
-
Anti-tunneling is currently its purpose. This doesn't mean that it can't do even more than that, or that it may not stop the killer from tunneling sometimes. But its current state is meant to make it an anti-tunneling perk, no matter how successful it is in that aspect or in others.
"But the devs said" yeah the devs also said that OoO is balanced so forgive me if I don't take everything that the devs said as an absolute truth 🤔
-
They look fantastic and I loved how they twisted some of the gameplay. Like there are new tiles in Crotus Prenn, and The Game was changed a bit too. I loved them a lot. Probably my fav map updates so far.
-
I mean the HUD is ugly but aren't you taking it a bit too far??? Like... it's only a HUD after all. And it will probably be changed, since most people are complaining about it lol.
-
It used to be Bubba, but ever since his buff most Bubba players have stopped camping.
Right now, it's usually Freddy, Spirit, Twins and Pyramid Head that I see camping the most. Specially the Twins.
Edit: forgot to mention Trapper and Hag who manage to hook you in the basement, but I mean... I kinda can't blame them. Their powers are perfect to protect the basement, and requires them to remain close by to do so.
-
Freddy and Spirit. Not only strong as heck killers, but also usually played by the most scummy, tryhard-ish players on the server.
Don't "but I'm a Spirit/Freddy main and I don't do this" because keyword: usually. Also don't "but killers are allowed to do what they want" because yes of course they are, as much as I am allowed to find certain strategies annoying (?). And last but not least, don't "you probably go full tryhard too" because I haven't ran the small pp build even once in my life. Ok I think I've covered it all now!
-
I feel like there's no point in changing the whole thing. The people who play DBD do so because we more or less like what the game is like (more or less lol) so making it something completely different doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
I would LOVE IT if they added new game modes, however. But then again, I don't know if it's a good idea, because of how bad the queue times already are. So, for now, I feel that the game is better staying as it currently is.
