you should look at the players that they were facing... i'm able to 4k with a no perks/addonless trapper, but that doesn't mean that the survivor that i faced were even remotely skilled... quite the opposite.

The game is killer sided atm.

Teabagging is meant to disrespect the killer, slugging is a strategy to win as killer.
WAS a strategy... with the patch that they want release even slugging now won't be possible anymore
-
actual rancor should be basekit, effective with everyone and not just the obsession (it would make the endgame a lot more interesting and will gave to survivors a real reason to live the trial and have genuine fear instead of treating the killer like a plaything). Also i want back my old ruin/pop, together with some old maps (maybe they were more broken than the actual ones, but at least the feeling of being in a horror movie was more intense due to the "grimdarkness" that maps had)

Please check the win/loss ratio of both sides and balance it accordingly . I find it hard to believe killers are underpowered when every single game I go into as a red/purple rank survivor accompanied by other red and purple rank survivors, the killers just stomp survivors every single game. Constantly I find that people die or get left on the hook still. Not to mention all of the bugs survivors have to deal with that mess up the loop.
if we should base balance around statistics then nurse should be buffed and pig nerfed...

Im not going back and forth on what changes you think are fair. The point is all of those changes have impacted how Survivors are able to play the game and ultimately impact escape chances. There is nothing worse then playing a game a certain way then having to change how you’d handle a situation because the item/perk/add-on no longer works the way it has been for years. Survivors have had a lot of major changes to tactics over the last 3 years and if you didn’t cry about BHVR’s interference then I could care less about crying over a Killer tactic being nerfed. Learn to adapt, get good, or find some other game to play.
YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE GAMEPLAY/STRATEGIES CHANGED, you can still do every kind of play that you could do before (except permasabo hooks), quite the contrary killers had to change their gameplay after each patch... if you can't win actually as survivor in this current state of the game i guess that's a skill issue from your side, since you want to put it on a personal skill level... said this, after that patch you'll see the survivor's queue time DRASTICALLY increased, and with it also the camping and tunneling present in the game... after all you deserve what you are asking...

And they have also done this to Survivors:
- Changed iri syringe to 16 second heal and no longer instant.
- Nerfed toolboxes so that you only get 2-3 hooks to sabo each match.
- Sabo hooks take less time to respawn so less pressure on Killer from sabo hooks.
- Nerf second chance perks DS & DH.
- Nerf DS and OTR so they don’t work in EndgamE
- Nerf Hatch/Key to pretty much useless and entirely situational aspect of the game.
If you didn’t complain or see the problem with changing any of these on the survivor side you can’t say too much about slugging being nerfed. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Killers will have to adjust.
this is pure BS:
1 they were changed because they were literally broken and unfair to go aganist, now this addon is still very powerful, but at least now you have a short window of time to counter it (add the fact that maps now are extremely safe and it's a joke to keep busy a killer for 16 seconds... only exception is a tournament nurse)
2 you have also perks for sabo hooks, not only toolboxes, but anyway, you can still sabo the hook, denying a hook for the killer and a free escape thanks to that (you can even sabo from all the directions instead of being forced to sabo in front of the hook, while killers must hook in a single direction)
3 pressure is done by doing gens, not sabo hooks without a valid reason (aka while the killer is going to hook someone in your direction, hence why that point is moot... or to be precise it's extremely situational)
4 nerfs MORE THAN DESERVED i might add (at least one of them, the other is still busted due to auto dead hard users, making it even more powerful than the previous version)... on the bright side now you have BASEKIT BT with an addicional effect (10% haste, making a survivor fast like a ranged killer) and a BT that will last for 80 seconds... so you actually have even more tools to bodyblock the killer (btw if you are unhooked and do this you DESERVE to being tunneled imo)
5 those perks were made for avoiding tunneling, not to grant you an easy win without efforts... tell me, what could do a killer in the endgame to counter those perks? that's right, you can't and i'll tell you more: those perks would be probably abused even to bodyblock the killer on purpose for denying a possible hook from another survivor...
6 because for you it was fair that a killer played without tunneling and camping and survivors rushing gens finished to 3 gen zone themself with only a death in their team, and escape by pressing a simple button, requiring no skill at all, denying all the efforts that killer made to protect the last 3 gen... keys were rightfully changed for a reason, just like moris they were a shortcut to end the game prematurely just by pressing a button...
imo killers were the ones that adapted all the time while survivors were complaining for literally everything... it's sufficient seeing the end chat after a game regarding the mindset of the people...

Twins get absolutely massacred by competent teams with UB and comms. However, they are incredibly oppressive against players that do not have X perk and that cannot communicate.
Pinhead gets destroyed by teams with comms. However, he dominates versus teams that have no way to communicate.
This is the sign of a poorly designed power. They should be given an update so that they are more effective versus teams and less effective versus Solo players.
fact is that this is impossible to achieve sadly... due to the nature of SWF, solo will be always worse than people who play in a SWF (considering survivors with the same skill the difference is even more noticeable)

Would you rather have a map with only windows or a map with only pallets ( you can't say neither) ?
noone of those 2 things... i just want a balanced map, with 2 strong tiles (main building and/or killer shack), the other places should be all pallets and windows that can be mindgamed... if you put too many windows you'll end like soffocation pit (that map is AWFUL aganist people who know how to loop properly) or lery (big and too much safe, where you can link windows and pallets without problems), if you put too many pallets you'll end like the game, if you did both like garden of joy...

I take my 4% chances on all of these games. It’s just no fun.

Ah yes, survivor players never play killer and that's why the bonus has been 100% on survivor for 20/24 hours in a day since 6.1.0.
I for one welcome the return of survivor players if it means I get to play my preferred role without a 16 minute queue each time.
maybe because they literally whined like babies about the changes without realizing that nothing is changed? i play solo survivor too and when i have an actual decent team the killer can consider himself lucky if he did 4 hooks in the entire match... mind you that i don't play with exhaustion perks, so i'm one of the few guys out there that didn't relied on dead hard in order to kept busy the killer, unlike most of the people out there it seems...
-
@GannTM said:
God it’s like if the devs give one good thing to survivor then killers cry like little babies, but when killers get something, survivors always have to “adapt.” The irony.
i saw always the contrary tho... i can do a lot of examples: ruin reworked the 1st time? survivors yelled to killers to adapt. pop nerfed? same. undying? same. even when they nerfed specific killers (nurse, deathslinger, pyramidhead, twins... i could go on but i'm unwillingly to put all the stuff complained by survivors) killers said something similar only in 3 instances as far as i know: the 6.10 patch, the game rework and when keys were changed...

@Tobe said:
Almost all balance problems in this game arise from the gap between SWF and Solo Queue.
This mori patch will serve as a huge buff for SWF. The killer has literally no countermeasures against Sabotage, who communicates via Discord when a survivor was downed under the palette.
I think the maximum number of SWF should be reduced to two, or additional benefits or compensation should be given to Killers who deal with SWF.
despite i'm all in for seeing SWF relegated only in custom matches, this will not happen since the devs think that they NEED premades to keep this game alive... short words you are asking for something that will never be done despite it's the right decision regarding gameplay balance...

If those strategies are honestly unfun to go against, aka slugging, camping and tunneling, then yes they should be removed imo. Plenty of other fun strategies out there and if it turns out that these specific strategies were "necessary", then they will simply make extra changes further down the line.
Personally, I don't think much of slugging but camping and tunneling definitely should be addressed. If the devs want to throw slugging on the pile of unfun strategies that should be removed then sure why not.
for your logic then genrushing should be forbidden, boyblock and sabotaging hooks should be forbidden because they are unfun to go against. please try to be objective, despite i'm the first to say that slugging is boring (especally as survivor), that strategy was one of the few ways that killers have to keep up the pace with the survivors doing their objective... with that strategy gone WITHOUT compensations, camping and tunneling will be even more common now... this is one of the worst updates ever done if it will goes live

Keep in mind I'm a 4.2k hour survivor main.
Slugging, tunneling, and proxy camping (face camping is an exeption) should not be dealt with anymore. Slugging especially. After the bt base kit, tunneling is fine. Camping honestly at this point is fine for a secure kill, always has been, but slugging?!. Why obliterate this tactic/strategy. I can speak for killers rn having 4 or 3 people on the ground is the most satisfying thing as a killer am I right guys? To get 4 people on the ground takes real skill and that gives reward. This game is getting less and less skill oriented now that I think about it. A good survivor should now how to handle slugging and if you get a bad teammate, well that's part of any online coop game. Slugging for the 4k is also completely fine. People get salty over it and I have no clue why, it's a simple strategy that gives you a chance for a double pip (it's hard in iri ranks as a killer).
It's not like people are leaving the game because of Slugging getting out of control or camping or tunneling, none of that is making people quite (some of you may disagree but let's be honest your gonna need dbd in ur veins a couple days later) what's making people quite is hacking, exploits, performance issues, and toxicity within the community being too much and some other reasons too.
Slugging should not be changed nor be worked on
Edit: also from a marketing standpoint, messing with in game strategies is a road to failure. It is generally not a smart thing too do especially when there is a higher chance to loose more players after changing strats then leaving them how they are.
Thanks for reading.
you see, as a killer main i'm not mad because they are essencially erasing slugging as a strategy (after all it's effectively boring as survivor being on the ground for 5 minutes without doing nothing, for that reason that mechanic could be deleted), i'm mad because they are punishing it, giving nothing in return to killers to compensate the loss of another tactic... what people fail to understand is that slugging most of the times is a necessary evil, required to get more time because normally YOU DON'T HAVE THE TIME for doing normal chases due to various factors (mainly the maps that now are actually awful to play as killer). i think that if this patch will be released, i'll probably took a loooong break from the game (or at least until the devs will gave to killers compensations for what they lost)

Same could be said about survivors.
The best chance not get camped and tunneled is doing the game fast and doing gens fast. So its not just killers forced to do it, Survivors as well.
I rather do my games fast and escape, than sitting on hook until i die.
As you said it's a cycle that only devs can broke... but at this point you should know well that this won't happen. Doing the gen fast prevent camping and tunneling? On that matter i strongly disagree, especially if i should consider my personal experience: back in the 2019 i had fun, without resorting to camping and tunneling, match were a lot more balanced and chill despite broken stuff was present in the game and when i was defeated i felt that those people really deserve the win... now it became a sweatfest for rushing the main objective as fast as possible (both sides)... i won't tell you that rewarding players for playing in a certain way will completely erase camping and tunneling/genrushing since this is a straight up lie (even if the devs will eventually release a specific mechanics that will make those tactics more difficult to do since certain people do it only for getting salt from others/winning at all costs), but it will surely make the game a lot healthier/fun than now.

Just got out of a game where this player felt like they ran just a little bit too fast around a corner. They'd just barely make a pallet that they shouldn't have, that sort of thing. I suspected they were cheating, but downed and hooked them twice. On the third time when i got to them and was about to kill them, they suddenly moved extremely fast sliding on the ground (not a perk or anything) obviously cheating at that point. I DCed, and he said "don't tunnel scrub killer and it wont happen" Got in on video and reported it.
But the point still stands. Otz is right, i can't tell when people are cheating anymore, because they keep trying to do it in subtle ways. I'll never be able to for sure know if someone is cheating to allow them to do a gen in 70 seconds instead of 90, or if they move just a little bit faster such that it is hard to tell, but just enough for them to get to a pallet or window.
You need to fix this.
they had the chance but they did the EXACT OPPOSITE THING... they gave for a couple of weeks dbd for free on epic games store, so cheaters had the chance to get free accounts for their entire life... why people still believe in those devs when they clearly showed us with their actions that they simply don't care about the game's health?

He's really not. He's got one of the better pick rates in the game. He doesn't need a complete rework either. Just some quality of life changes to his base kit.
i never said that he wasn't picked up much... i stated that he has outdated mechanics (he isn't the only one tho) and that he should be reworked completely (obviously you can't gave him powers that aren't lore related, so he should stuck with stealth powers, but his whole power is too much time wasting generally speaking)

It's not because of BBQ, lol. Those strategies were made even stronger because of the survivor nerfs and killer buffs. Killers are gonna play scummy until it's no longer rewarded as much as it currently is. They need to punish those things a lot more.
punish the killer even more and you'll find yourself playing with bots... the problem isn't that those strategies are too much effective, the problem is that you are forced to do them in order to keep up the pace with the survivors and their goal. For that matter you should gave more reasons for the killers in order to play in a certain way, not punish it for doing the exact same thing that survivors most of the times did (aka rush their goal)

Also, idk who they are.
Also, Killer got a pretty sizeable buff last patch.
neither i know who he is, but that's not the point. The point is that maps actually are so survivor side that if you are aganist people who do gens and predrop, you'll lose badly. you also cannot expect that everyone is on otz level of skill, and honestly that survivor didn't impressed me at all regarding skill. Add the fact that now gens are FASTER than before despite they added 10 seconds due to certain perks (hyperfocus and stake out) and you'll get the idea... those buffs for the killers were only a SMALL lenient, perfect for boosting low mmr kills, but in the meantime they only worsened the situation on higher levels (and as you can see in the video even in low mmr things goes in that way if survivors do their job)

maybe because the current situation is even worse than before? a couple of slightly buffs won't compensate in the slightest all the nerfs that killer perks got, add the MAIN fact that maps nowday are so broken that now you can easily won a match by simply throwing mindlessly pallets, without even looping and you'll get why killers still camp and tunnel

Genrushing does not exist. I don’t care how much you want it to. If you can’t generate and control map pressure, then that’s a skill issue. Do Gen times still need work? Yes. But you can only get “genrushed” if you tunnel, or stand still and do nothing. Camping defeats the entire purpose of the game. Chase, down and hook. Not hook one and stand still for 5 minutes until the others come to save.
keep saying that genrush doesn't exist, you are only making yourself a fool... start giving killers the time needed to chase, then we can talk again regarding camping and tunneling

Here's some food for thought - is tunneling easier than ever?
Now that DS is dead, even with the introduction of baseline BT now that killers lose infinitely less distance on hitting the survivor, especially with the extreme usage of STBFL.
Off The Record was insane on the PTB, but as it got to live it became..quite worthless. What does it do?
If you're tunneled immediately, nothing. If you're not tunneled, probably nothing, unless you're a coordinated SWF. Is that not terrible design?
I've never seen quite so much tunneling as post 6.1.0. A big DS buff is in order.
Aganist bad survivor? Yes most of the times. Aganist good survivors? Absolutely no.

What percentage of matches do you think are affected by cheaters? Balance issues affect every match. 100% of them.
I mean if every match had a cheater in it, you'd have a case for saying that addressing cheating should priority one. But I'd be surprised if even 5% of matches have cheaters.
Is there data on how prevalent cheating is? I mean not just reports, because people report all manner of nonsense.
you can't be always sure when someone cheat or not, especially now since there are various perks that improve the ms (prolonged BT and hope for example) or the genspeed (generators with toolboxes, stake out and hyperfocus can be done in 46 seconds), but from my personal experience i know when something isn't right, especially when you chase a normal guy and a speed hacker in the same zone, with the same tiles available (the normal guy will receive a hit if he'll try to leave that zone for another while you are destroying a pallet to reach his position, the subdule speed hacker will reach the next zone even without throwing down pallets or going fast enough to reach that zone and stunning you, even with bloodlust). keep in mind that most of my matches were with this kind of players, hence why took a break from the game
-
@Thusly_Boned said:

She's definitely not weak, especially after the iron will nerf. You will struggle to get your first hit against really good survivors but after that they will go down during your next phase unless they reach a god pallet. If you feel you're going to play against a really good survivor team, you can also run MDR + Amulet for a almost guaranteed win.
if that killer is so strong then tell me: where is she now? In all my matches done as survivor i didn't saw her even once... she's rare almost as pig mains. p.s: a killer shouldn't be forced to being addon dependant in order to be viable imo, this is just bad game design

MMR by definition obscures balance. Let's say that you are a mediocre killer, just for arguments' sake. The update is released which objectively makes killers stronger. This is backed up by data, killers are on average killing more survivors in more matches. When the change went live, the groups of survivors that you would have been paired up with before are now no longer a match for you. This would lead your MMR to increase despite the fact that you remain a mediocre killer (for argument's sake of course). Now from your perspective, after the change, somehow games have gotten harder. From your perspective I can see how you would feel that the truth is that killers have actually gotten weaker.
I'll share with you my perspective. From my perspective, I'm winning more games then ever as killer. I've stopped running slow-down perks altogether and I'm absolutely bored with killer.
You shouldn't balance the game based on statistics because they are flawed and won't tell you how the matches generally went... I can do an example: yesterday I faced a premade that did 2 gens in a single (short) chase, at some point I went back to the hook since the hooked survivor was almost on his 2nd phase and no one went for the save... Just for this reason they were so salty that they let themselves die on the hook, without even trying to gave me a hard time (and the endchat obviously filled with wishes about the death of my family and various insults obviously... They said enjoy your 10 minutes queue... Lmao, like If I must wait all that time to found matches as killer). Did the match was easy? Yes, but not surely because killers were over buffed, but because they didn't even tried to win for a petty reason

You should definitely have to be in front of the hook (the same side the killer hooks survivors) to sabotage it, given that while you’re performing the action the killer is literally unable to hook
how are you meant to counter a body block AND a Sabo from behind before the carried survivor wiggles off?!
by dropping the carried survivor and start slugging... yes it sucks cause you won't get the hook (not of the survivor that you were carrying at least), but on other hand they aren't giving you much choices, plus they'll be busy to save their downed teammate, so 3 people that aren't doing gens...

After Ghostface and Legion, these are my wishes:
1. Which killers should receive buffs:
- Sadako (no Antiloop, bad Mori-Ability, TV-Cooldown far too big)
- Freddy (worst addons in the game, bad Antiloop, which only works while survs are asleep, Immunity from Alarm-Clocks should get removed, maybe Snares + Pallets Basekit like Clowns Bottles)
- Trapper (Trapper-Sack Basekit, no easy escape from Beartraps... at least u need 3 tries at minimum)
- Twins (already in the making if i remember last Q&A right)
2. Which killers should receive nerfs
- Nurse (dont cares about the rules of the game like Walls, Pallets, Windows... - the best killer in the game)
- Artist (huge Map-Pressure, loops are useless against her)
- Spirit (Addons a bit weaker, especially Mothers Dwelling)
- Blight (Alchemist Ring too powerful)
What are YOUR killers u would like to see changes soon and why.
buffs:
1 i would also remove her lullaby when not manifested
2 it would be sufficient reverting the nerfs that he got, but keeping the clock mechanic, in that way survivors have more incentives to wake up through clocks (freddy should be extremely dangerous when he can successfully put in the dream world the survivors, but he also should get counterplay). He needs also a full rework of his addons
3 as you said he needs trapper bag as basekit and traps should be more difficult to spot (disarming time is already fine imo), especially now that most of the maps are without grass
4 they need to be reworked completely from the ground
5 i would add also the wraith (survivors cannot burn him anymore when cloacked) to that list and other tweaks on other killers
nerfs:
1 nurse should be completely reworked, but not before relegating SWF to only custom matches...
2 artist isn't strong at all, she's one of the easiest killers to counter (she's problematic only if she successfully zone you in a corner, but at that point is just a bad play rightfully punished)
3 spirit isn't strong at all imo, but i would gladly erase all her strongest addon in change for a better basekit/overall buffs
4 the main issue about blight aren't his addons, but the fact that people can still abuse exploits with him... he's a completely different killer once you'll dispose of those exploits (A LOT more weaker)

Killer stats after 6.1.0 patch.
What do you think about it? Does the game feel more balanced now?
still looking at statistics? you should know that those kind of data are meaningless for the game's balance if you consider only those since they are flawed due to various factors... they could gave you a remote idea about how things are going only when you put them together with other statistics. For example low mmr will have an huge increase of the kill ratio due to people "play" in a certain way (aka not optimally, fleeing whenever they hear the terror radius, being unable to loop and/or chain loops, making it a lot more easier for the killer to defend generators and kill survivors) while high mmr will have the stats decreased probably (the best gen defense perks were nerfed into the ground, making pain resonance the only perk barely worth for slowing down gens if you have a killer that can end chases quickly, making it easier for rushing gens despite they added 10 seconds to them, you'll have competent survivors who know how to loop and are smarter in general and coordinated SWF)

So what I wrote isn't true at all for your thoughts isn't it? Go with a friend in a custom match in that map with windows of opportunity and count HOW MANY pallets/loops that you can chain in that map if you have doubts about my statement...

I don't know why people hated it but Garden of Joy decent is map. Main building is a bit problematic but it is not big deal. Most of loops are fair for both sides, map is not so big. So it is easy to pressure on gens.
You are joking, right? There's no way that this map is even remotely fair for both sides... The HUGE amount of safe pallets near each other paired with jungle gyms, killer shack and the central building make it one of the most survivor side maps in the entire dbd existence...

I would like to see pinhead buffed properly instead of having another hellraiser chapter...

if i see something like that under my nose then don't complain about me tunneling to death the one who finished the gen despite i was nearby... people should learn that playing optimally will often lead to your death... i've no symphaty for those kind of people
