Probably Legion, Myers or Plague. Those three have to very heavily rely on the m1 chase in order to get downs.
@Axe said:
Legion
His just a M1 killer. No ability to help in chases. No stealth unlike Ghostface that can help with mindgames. His power is to injure survivors and thats about it.
If you want to play as a pure M1 killer then Legion is probaly your only option
But i get an easier first hit because good players dont want to waste a pallet when they are healthy against legion.

But why? Why are people so upset over something that didn't happen? By letting them die on hook because they only attempted to kobe, you are doing everyone way more harm that they apparently did to you by simply trying to kobe.
More harm is relative. The goal of players is not the same. Escaping. Pip. Bp. Fun. Or nothing of these.
Most want you to teach you a lesson, so you stop doing it. One match lost, but no kobe try in all future games.
-
Yeah i let them die for that. Why not?
But on a serious note, you can decide to kobe and the other survivor can decide to not unhook you. Its funny when people see it and regret trying to kobe.

No, DS wouldn't have the time limit. And I specifically made it so that it's not abusable, so tunneling accidentally would be about as common as a Killer running Gearhead
You could still use it to bodyblock. Its no big deal most of the time, but you can get value out of it.
It is rare that you would tunnel accidentally, but what are the downsides of giving this info to the killer?
-
Has DS still a time limit? Would it be good when the killer could see the specual effect over the health state, too? It helps to not tunnel accidentally.
Iron maiden would just be the same as disabling lockers after the survivors know that you have it.
-
Im running ds and its fine that i dont use it most of the time. Im happily wasting a perk slot to have an insurance against farming survivor and tunneler.
I dont try to use it, when the killer doesnt tunnel. I dont want to use it as invincible shield.
I never used old ds and the only reason i started using ds was that i was green/purple rank and it was full of farming survivor and killer who tunneled. Red rank is a lot better. (Most of the time)
-
The problem with bloodlust is that it makes unsafe pallets useless. You can stun the killer and he will get a hit anyway.
But before bloodlust is removed all maps need to be reworked. Haddonfield fence with bloodlust is busted enough.
Loops should force the survivor to either outplay the killer or to drop the pallet. There shouldnt be the option to run the killer without effort bc for example Cow tree and a long wall Jungle gym are connected.
Bloodlust right now is only a safe way to kill one survivor. When you dont get a hit shortly after bloodlust 1 kicks in, its a sign that you losing the match bc of this chase. So you get a safe down, but you lose the match.
Switching targets and when and how to break a pallet are important to learn for a killer and Bloodlust shows the wrong way.
-
I got a weird disconnect yesterday. But i got my bloodpoints and didnt lose a pip. I got disconnected from host, the survivor thought i dced, but i got no penalty.
I dont know how to handle your dcs. I have an old ps4 and i never got a crash and a dc penalty. When its your connection, its your fault.
When there are so many bugs which force a dc, the penalty should be removed. But i dont know why you get this bugs so often, i get a lot of bugs, but none where i need to dc.
-
A good team is most of the time enough. I play bill always without perks. You only need a obsession.

Sounds like the match never fully started. Most likely one of the survs lost connection along the way, or possibly you did.
It was ca. 10 minutes after the match started. I had 20k BP. I had atleast one chase with every survivor. I know this kind of disconnect, it was different.

This works only with bad players. I say this because killers always try to do this when I'm playing survivor and it never works.
But how do you know from which side they are coming? Isnt it a 50/50?

The pallet on the top floor is a god pallet, there is no mindgame to it.
There is an easy mindgame. When they are at the pallet show your red light at the entrance door side. Then moonwalk that you fall down on the stairs, moonwalk the stairs and immediately hit around the corner.
They dont know on which side of the pallet you will appear and they have no time to react without red light. It works at the dropped pallet too.

It's the two floor house that usually has a generator and a car pallet outside.
Ok its decent but there is no god pallet. I would say its the weakest building on badham.

I hate all variations. Last weeks when the map had an increased chance of appearing due to a bug made me hate it as much as Haddonfences.
The design it has make holding W an even better strat. The House of Pain, the school building, the house with the god pallet that can be connected to shack, the dumb breakable walls, the fact it's one of the darkest map in the game... It's horrible. Badham II is the only tolerable one.
Which is the house with the god pallet? The house with the small basement is the House of pain, right?

I would like to be able to try and practice Nurse or Huntress without being stomped on, but I'd rather them evolve it more before fully implementing it.
Just set a small goal instead of trying to win. I started learning nurse on rank 1 (Ps4). I have still a long way to go, but you improve faster against good player.
-
Solution Problem 1 & 2: Chase as a condition can be abused by the killer (example old bt, old legion)
Its a huge buff for ds. Its shorter but you can still abuse it. The problem with DS is not the time, its that you can do things to win the game while being invincible.
Solution Problem 3: A gen is 80 sec and needs 360 sec to regress fully. 50% of that 720 sec. This effect is really weak, it wouldnt change much.
Solution Problem 6: could work, but should disable after all gens are powered. It would need new animations for struggle phase.
-
Ruin/Undying for the same reason why you use surge.
Coulrophobia to counter fast heals after Victor downed someone. Sloppy is too weak against Were gonna life forever, but more versatile.
Can Victor see auras? I dont have a aura perk yet.

The best survivors can, sure. For those of us who solo, this game just became twice as much of a nightmare with nearly double the dead space - same logic applies to the new Ormond. God damn these maps got gutted pretty hard, as in - any misuse of resources, even slight, and you might just lose the game. Great, if you SWF all the time. Us solo folks? Takin' it in the BUM... again..
It has nothing to do with solo or swf. The only problem with solo is that you get bad teammates. A good MMR will fix that. The amount of pallets is good, but the placement is not perfect.
To be fair im too lazy to learn the map layout myself and use windows of oppurtunity. But everytime i lose there are enough pallets left.
-
I think plague is not that weak. The pipping and the BP issue should be addressed, but she is fine.
She is not the strongest nor the weakest killer, she has a good place in the middle.
Giving her access to her fountains from everywhere would eliminate the tactical decision of where to cleanse. In the end survivor would cleanse less. You can use two apples to have three fountains, im personally play without addons.
Its frustrating when no one cleanses, but i dont know how to solve that. I try to use my one default fountain with Infectious when everyone is injured to force them to cleanse or lose.
What me helped the most was not trying to infect one survivor fully, always splitting the pressure.
Im surely not the best plague player and i dont play here very often, maybe ten times in a month. But i like that the gameplay is different and other killer need a buff more.
-
I have a lot of fun playing killer.
I think im over my stressful phase. Now im more relaxed, i try to win, but when i dont im not affected.
I started playing survivor after i got Rank 1 as killer. Solo survivor was never really stressful for me after i reached the first time rank 1. (Wanting a pip and getting farmed and tunneled game after game) Solo survivor is hard and can be annoying, but it was never stressful for me when i lost.

The Wraith got points for hitting you. Just like a Survivor body-blocking to take a protection hit. Both used Collision to score points. How can one be reportable and the other isn't?

I like the argumentative challenge. It's also fun if their stance isn't well thought-out.
Its not a challenge. You cant win against a dumb person. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
-
I dont think there are powers which are outdated. Some are clearly weaker in the meta, but they dont need a complete rework.
Most of the weak killer, who have no good chase ability, benefit from the map reworks.
At the moment a strong killer needs a way to play around pallets. With weaker maps that could change.
I think most of the killer need only some changes, not a rework.
Wraith with basekit-windstorm and better stealth.
Trapper with basekit-bag and traps spawning more in the middle. No trap escape rng. Better trap spots for indoormaps.
Pig no trap rng and a better chase ability to counter pallet dropping

If what you said is true, then the killers wouldn't go straight to that side and hover there on and off for most of the game lol
Then do all other gens when they hardcamping a 3 gen from the start. They could do that without Corrupt. You should be able to beat a 3 gen with 4 survivor.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1789688#Comment_1789688
Yeah, that's sort of true, but also it is a deliberate course of action that someone is choosing to take. It's like DS - if you jump in a locker with it, that's not just the game at fault. Because, as with holding W and pallet camping, you are very deliberately exploiting said fault. So that's two faults - the game for letting it happen, and the person for forcing it to despite having other options.
Yh you could do other things. I didnt use old ds bc of that.
But pallets are a gameplay mechanic. When i choose not to abuse it, i give the devs false data. Then they wouldnt change it.
I almost never pallet camp bc i play solo and i never trust my team to be efficient, but when im on deathhook or all gens are done, i dont take a unnecessary risk.
-
@MadLordJack said:

Because it's actually an uncounterable winning stratagey if your teammates are doing gens. It's like tunneling, but effective in all situations.
Yh but its the games fault. Why should i blame a survivor for it? Its frustrating and boring with killer like pig, but the recent map changes making it better.
-
I like the new designed maps. I want to try the new loops on autohaven against deathslinger, they seem to be more fair then the old car loops.
-
Many have said it. DLCs are for the playercount no for money.
When you look at F2P-games you see that they get enough money with skins. A DLC is more like a special event to keep player interested then a good income.
And the most income with skins are whales (player who spend way too much). I dont think thats different in DbD.
So the only reason for DLCs is to generate hype and keep the playerbase steady. You need new players, because some old players leave. Without new players a game slowly dies.
Im personally more excited for the key and mori change and perk reworks then for a new chapter.

Its not the map, its the pallet placement system. I have normally enough pallets on this map.
-
I have more fun in red rank. I hate this matches, where matchmaking gives me green ranks. When i needed bloodpoints, i played nice and gave them a chance. Now i want this boring matches to end fast.
In my experience toxity is not so rank dependand. Most people are only toxic when they win. When i did not play a month (with old rank reset), i was yellow, tried nurse, they were toxic, too.
-
The only choice is to get better and for this you need to endure the BMing.
I know how it feels, this moment after a bad game and the wait for this stupid gg ez. At some point you think about it before the match starts and after every mistake in the match. Its stressful and you dont have fun anymore. I disabled messages for a long time.
But you need to play to get better. So you need to do something to not get affected of this BM.
Set small goals and stay calm when you make mistakes. Im learning nurse atm on PS4. Getting frustrated makes you worse. Its not easy to ignore the BM, but they want the attention. Dont give it to them.
You can use NOED, it gives you some kills and makes it easier to endure the BM, but it doesnt make you better.
I would recommend Corrupt Intervention (when you have it) or any other slowdown perk to give you enough time to practice.

Well hopefully and most likely this map will be reworked heavily too so it won't be as busted. After that then pretty much every map will be somewhat balanced. Although I'll still hate badham and wonder if ppl will realise how broken it is. There are easy fixes to it as well. Just replace one or both of the houses with maze tiles and put holes in the walls next to the god windows so they are more like those windows in the fences.
On the note about map reworks btw, i've noticed that they are leaving the harder maps till last like asylum and haddonfield.
Some farm maps are annoying like haddonfield. Atleast cowshed. But i guess as original realm they will be reworked before haddonfield.
Temple of purgation can have some unmindgameable loops close together in the middle and its a big map.
-
A ping system like Apex would be great.
Maybe it will destroy the atmosphere a little bit, but after 100 hours nobody is scared anymore anyway.
Splitting matchmaking is not a good idea. You dont want to balance everything twice and it would increase matchmaking time.

Why do solo players need to be buffed? I'd be more interested in nerfing SWF somehow, though I doubt that's going to happen. Failing that, make BBQ and WGLF baseline to both discourage camping, and to encourage survivors going for rescues. I don't think kindred should be baseline, given it's so darn strong anyway.
The problem is its easier to balance when you give Solo an SWF the same tools.
When you balance with nerfing swf then you get something like 20% less repair speed for this information? Its complicated and a mess to balance. Then you have the problem that free information has an different impact on a good player swf then one bad players.
Rating every advantage swf has and calculating a fair downside is a balancing nightmare.
-
@Sluzzy said:
Re-buff survivors, nerf killer perks. They already have Kindred, it doesn't help. Give survivors a way to turn off killer auras by buffing distortion to unlimited use. This should be an option in a horror hide and seek game. The auras and slowgen perks is what pushes killers over the edge. Lack of map defenses for survivors that are less than experts is an issue too.
Aura reading is only too strong against bad survivors who cant last in a chase. This game is not really a hiding horror game, otherwise you wouldnt have so many ressources when the killer found you. Stealth is only a part of the game. And you can counter most aura reading.
-
There a some things you could have done to play perfect, but i dont know how much they would have help you. The best chance would have been a slugfest with infectious but then they have unbreakable....
Oni without his power is hard. Bc of that bloodfarming after first hit is a good strategy. Most of this pallets were too safe, with bloodlust + mindgaming you get eventually a hit but its a huge time waste. You are right with all of that.
There was no real risks for the survivor, they just played it safe. Map and loops design need to be more balanced.

The possibility that Undying can be cleansed first and then Ruin is a common scenario and one where Undying did nothing. Because that is such a common possibility and both perks can be removed by survivors the reward it gives even the best killers is pretty balanced tbh.
Killer perks are balanced around RNG and the possibility of being strong or completely and utterly useless. This combo just makes that slightly better. Still just another layer of RNG. I won't sacrifice another perk just to have Ruin up slightly longer when that other perk could help me get a down on a survivor faster while Ruin is up increasing the value out of my loadout significantly.
Common depends on the definition. The chance for this scenario is 50%. And Undying did protect Ruin once in this scenario. Without Undying Ruin could be the first cleanse with Undying its impossible.
There are only some, mostly Hex-Perks, designed around RNG. And when i want to win i dont use RNG-perks, but its my personal preference. But Ruin/Undying has more layers of RNG then most.
Ruin alone is too weak, when you have nothing to protect it (Perks, killer power) Its a huge gamble, which you will lose most of the time. Thats why nobody used it alone.
Whether op or not (i would say not) Ruin/Undying is the strongest build

I suppose you're right it's not a win more it's more consistency. Still not that powerful when all one of the perks adds is more time. Yes I say this realizing time is the single most important thing a killer has in a match.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1779704#Comment_1779704
That's all Ruin and the killer though. All Undying did was give Ruin 50% chance at lasting longer. Survivors can still completely counter the combo by just doing a generator or taking out totems. Both can be permanently disabled by survivors.
Yh of course its only ruin. Ruin has one fatal weakness, its gone when you need it. Thats why nobody used it before undying.
And undying gives more than a 50%. It gives at the minimum ruin double the time to last (2 Totems to cleanse) and it can go up to 500%.
+ Killer could defend there totems better with the aura reading, but most dont even try to defend
Dont get me wrong ruin with undying is not a free win, but it helps you more than any other perk at most killer
-
@coppersly said:
I really don't understand the problem people have with it. It feels more like a 'win more' combo than it does one that helps you.
It does nothing if you can't apply pressure, and if you could apply pressure you probably didn't need the undying to get similar or same value
one of the perks literally just reveals those close to totems and recycles a hex with a 50% chance
If 50% of a killers loadout to have a 50% chance to have 1 hex perk stay longer than normal is OP boy do I have a lot of survivor perk combos to ban for you.
It helps to get value out of pressure. When you have normally so much pressure, you need to slow down bc of ds. With ruin all gens are atleast at zero, after the survivor reset.
And not wasting time kicking gens makes target switch so much better.
The problem i have with it is the value in comparison to other perks. I dont want to think the best choice would be to use ruin/undying similar to old ruin.
-
@Mew said:
its not really possible to fix since it has to do with the amount of people playing each role
its 4 survivors per 1 killer, survivor queue times are bound to be long
Maybe i make a mistake here, but shouldnt theoretically with the 4vs1 ratio killer queue times be longer?
When there would be the same amount of killer and survivors wouldnt be the matchmaking of survivor 4times faster?

2x BP is not that bad, but i think they dont want to destroy the BP economy, Moris every game etc. I dont agree with that, but i can understand this reason.
They should just rework the Bloodwebsystem again. Make perks easier available and not tied to addons etc.
And they should boost survivor objective BP. But i think they need more killer players and dont want to lose them. Killer matchmaking is a lot faster for me.

same boat in experience as you mate been in rank 1 as killer for 3 years, let's agree to disagree
i think your a little blinded by how unbalanced this game is to see that not all games are like that, from my experience 1 sided survivor games are in the minority of my matches. i'm not saying that that's ok something definitely needs to be done in a ton of different area of the game but as i said plenty of games are winnable with m1 killers if your a good killer.

I still completely disagree with that, as someone who has played at rank 1 for thousands of hours and regularly is playing into the genrush sweats.
If you hit a good SWF, all gens will be done in 4-5 minutes. There was just a video on this forum demonstrating it. It's not uncommon to lose 2 gens before corrupt intervention is over, especially if you are playing someone with a weak early game like Michael Myers. If they have full meta builds, you actually cannot win as an M1 killer. It's borderline impossible. The loops are too safe, the gens are done too fast, there's too many second chance perks, object of obsession callouts are too strong. I bring a Mori into those games almost every time if I recognize the SWF.
I literally just came out of a game like that, sent to Ormond, 2 gens done before corrupt was over, instant medkits, the works. But I had a tombstone so I still won (and depipped). And it's incredibly hard to untrain yourself from playing in a manner to beat those kinds of players. So you play like that into disorganized solo Q players as well.
I have the same experience that this swfs are very rare. But i play ps4 only or crossplay. I heard PC without Crossplay is harder. Which do you both play?
