  • I strongly disagree with you except for colorblind.

You are the kind of player who can leave the game and im happy about it.

You are proud that you admit that you are an toxic. Impressive. Not denying it is really praiseworthy.

  • @trick said:

how is it skill vs 3 people just becvause u made it impossible for him to do anything xD its not skilled win its handycapped win

Sorry but what are you even talking about?

Nobody says tunneling is skill, i said it makes the game easier = less skill.

You are missing the entire point of this thread, so i will stop replying.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/213160/do-you-want-12-hooks-games

You see, that's the main issue. Nobody should be thinking in terms of <The killer should not be penalized for not tunneling and exploiting a faulty, toxic "mechanic">. People need to understand that, before anything else, videogames are meant to be fun. If survivors feel like being chased and bloodlusted for a time that would end up in them also celebrating their 90th birthday isn't fun, they'll leave. And there are not bots in this game, aside from the tutorial (yet) as far as I know. If killers feel like having to face full SWFs with broken perk combos isn't fun anymore, they'll leave. And this will end up in DEAD by Daylight connecting with the first part of the game title, the game will indeed be dead. Until people stop going for this "I want to be rewarded for not being toxic" instead of "I'm not going to be toxic, so I won't get punished" mentality, the game will stay as it is, and the community will remain one of the most toxic, obnxious one I ever saw since the days I played League of Legends.

Hoping that player would choose not to be toxic (against the fun of other player) instead of encouraging them is just naive. You could die of old ages before that happens.

Sorry but this doesnt work and is not realistic.

For example do you know how the usage of some op weapons in shooter got solved? This weapons got the noob-stigma of the community and everyone flamed the user. Fighting toxicity with toxicity. Great.

And dbd is asymmetrical, where you cannot use the same things as your enemy. This make the cycle of toxicity worse.

Then theres the point that losing isnt fun, so maybe tunneling creates more fun then it hinders? Of course you need the killer fun x4. Otherwise you could argue that survivor fun is more important and the killer has always get the short end of the stick.

So why should we try the hard, unrealistic solution, when we could just solve it with an easy solution?

  • @trick said:

u cant delay a match ? how wud they all do gen when they are all hooked/unhooking/healing/on chase? or tunnel one good player and get gen rushed by the other 3.

Like i said one at the hook, one unhooks, one in a chase. The last one can do what he wants most of the time. You can only really pressure all 4 survivor when two are disabled (hooked/slugged). And when you have this situation most of the time you have won anyway and the survivors did make a huge mistake.

  • @trick said:

95% of my matchs 12 hooks , no tunnel. and lol are u saying u need to tunnel to end chases fast?

While it cuts the chase with most killer in half when the survivor is injured, it is not the reason why tunneling is effective. Tunneling is effective bc when one player is dead the game is alot easier.

And im not tunneling. This thread is to discuss whether players want 12-hook-games and with that to an extend whether more anti-tunneling-measures would be good.

Like i said everyone with experience can win most of the matches, but that is bc many survivor dont belong in red rank. You dont need to be here to say that you are a better killer. When that is your only purpose, then you are wasting my time.

  • @trick said:

its not optimal play bro xD u can hook them all in any order, as long as you had the pressure u will win anyway. Its a generic method which seems like the easiest path to winning, but ultimately its a unfair way to play killer.

watch tournaments ? who cares, ive played tones on this game i can win with literally every killer without tunnelling so xD

Yh but everyone with experience can win as killer. Im winning with every killer and without addons most of the time. There are so many bad survivors in red ranks and one weak link can kill his whole team.

Its basic knowledge that you cant delay a match against decent survivor long enough for 12 hooks. And i mean hooking everyone twice and then start killing.

One hooked person, one is unhooking, one is getting chased and the last one is on gens. And thats when you end chases fast.

  • @trick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/213160/do-you-want-12-hooks-games

tunnelling is not what makes you strong, when u tunnel 3 others can do whatever they want , and even block u from tunnelling. fine if your vs-ing noobs every round it will be effective, but it makes you look unfair and u can win by other ways , being strategic and stopping certain chases or gens depending on where they are and what they are doing

Tunneling is the most effective against every player. Watch tournaments.

Sure you can win without and im not going into matches with the mindset to tunnel, but its without doubt more effective than hooking everyone.

Many killer mix tunneling with camping, but thats makes tunneling weaker. Optimal tunneling is when you not camp and wait til the survivor is unhooked. Not waiting on the hook makes it harder to find the tunnel target sometimes, but it gives you time to pressure gens and other survivors.

Another strategy is to focus on two players to have more pressure on the whole team and to ignore Strike/BT. But the downside is that they get healed after unhook.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1815391#Comment_1815391

Which is why I'm not against anti-tunneling measures. Asides from BT though, DS is basically a slug simulator. where either the Survivor or the Killer is waiting on a timer, it's on-rails in a much more yes/no fasion.

And no, the game has an incredibly strong core structure. Survivors do Gens/Unhooks and get Chased, Killers Patrol Gens/Hooks and Chase. Balancing problems are simply present given you want to add variety, and doing so can have drastic (see unbalanced MMR) or unforeseen differences.

What I'm concerned with is that the structure you're talking about is adding in additional on-rails features to Survivors that Killers have to follow, and in general just serves to make Killers more... Boring, less options.

You could add a dynamic number of Hook states to Survivors based on the number of generators done compared to Hooks in addition to dynamic gen slowdown based on Hooks as well, but then that makes the game feel more like you're facing the game and another player. Rather than a player's perk choice and their skill alone.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1815408#Comment_1815408

See above. Slugging is a means to fewer hooks if you prevent Hook saves that way (If I have 3 people down, does it not make sense to go for the 4th if I see them?).

I'm concerned that you're advocating gameplay measures that automatically slow the game down based on game-state with no input from either side. Raising the floor, but also lowering the skill ceiling.

"Gameplay measures that slow the game down based on game state with no input"

But getting many hooks is a input from the killer side. This input needs to have a similar effect to tunneling. So both playstyles are viable.

  • A blocked gen stops regressing anyway, so Thrilling shines mostly as information perk.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

"I should have said that the goal is to make it so that 4 survivor remain as long as possible in the game." ... "But i asked for 12 hook-games and not for anti-tunneling-measures with a reason."

    What?

Yes, Survivors don't like Tunneling and Camping because it kicks them out early compared to the rest.

Are you saying you have an issue if the Killer downs all 4 of you in a short manner and you all get hooked/killed on first hook? That's a skill problem.

The not asking for anti-tunneling is explained one sentence later. Its just a different wording so this thread is full of comments why tunneling is necessary. I only want to know whether players would want that most matches take 12 hooks to end, bc it would be a viable strategy.

And what has that to do with slugging? You are missing the point.

The first thing you think is, oh a bad survivor. But i ask this from a neutral perspective.

So, all 5 gens have to be powered for hatch to spawn at all? Seems a little one sided. And would thus make achievements/ challenges to do with hatch much harder, but hmm would add a challenging side I suppose..

You get a third option for the end game + the benefits of key addons.

Isnt the only achievment the 4man hatch escape? It wouldnt change.

You can still use a key as last survivor when the killer closes the hatch.

  • @Emsilyy3 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1815075#Comment_1815075

If that’s gonna be the case then moris and keys might as well be completely removed.

    So yes, in theory.

Keys have a lot of utility. You can see the killer and other survivors. The hatch escape is just a bonus, a really strong bonus. Without a hatch keys wouldnt be useless. They would be more in line with other items, maybe they would need a small buff.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Do I want them? Yes.

Do I think the game should force them, or be balanced around them through base-kit gameplay? No.

Do I like perks that promote this like Borrowed Time and Make Your Choice? Yes.

Do I think there's room for a Survivor perk that Transfers a Hook State? Yes.

Also, you can absolutely 12-Hook and still tunnel like a madman (though at that point it's more like a 10-Hook). Your argument should be more about target prioritization: Do you think Survivors that Unhook another Survivor, or Survivors that have yet to be Hooked should be a more preferable target? If so, How would you approach this?

I see your point. But i asked for 12 hook-games and not for anti-tunneling-measures with a reason.

When i asked for anti-tunneling one half would say tunneling is boring and others we need to tunnel. I know many threads, where that escalated.

I should have said that the goal is to make it so that 4 survivor remain as long as possible in the game. I will edit that.

I personally dont like solutions with perks. It widens the gap to newer players and it creates perks which are so good that other perks are not comparable. What can compare to the impact of D-Strike? One obsession in the game and the killer plays different.

With this thread i just wanted to know whether players even want something like that. It makes no sense to post something in suggestions, when nobody in the community really wants it. I have some solutions, but im not 100% happy with all of them.

  • @Emsilyy3 said:

Okay read my other comments about the keys and ways they can be changed. It’s in this same thread, let me know :)

You could read my answer to your posts, too.

Like i said your argument with moris would mean that you dont allow key escapes before the gens are powered. Moris cannot shorten the game anymore, same treatment for keys.

And pink keys are easier to get then purple keys.

  • I got accused for using BBQ. I got reported for exposing someone with Ghostface. Others dont know that you can see survivor with legions frenzy.

All purple or red rank players.

  • What means clipper killer?

  • @Emsilyy3 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1814619#Comment_1814619

I can understand that frustration, but would you say that they should make pink keys more rare, then change the purple keys to being 20 seconds but they can no longer open hatch and instead can be used as aura reading ones etc? Because removing keys completely wouldn’t be fair unless mori’s were removed as well really.

Moris are technically removed, so with your argumentation it is ok to remove keys, too. Both were op bc they could shorten the game. Moris cannot do that anymore, keys should get the same treatment.

So no hatch escape with a key before all gens are powered.

"Extremely underperforming" at 62.08% in Red Ranks when the balance target is 50%. Yep ... "extremely underperforming". What would you qualify as "balanced"? 100% killrate?

This data is useless without a good MMR-system. You can maybe compare the killer with each other, but its not a good sign when the best killer for rank 1 are noob stomper and killer that are easy to learn (Freddy).

One weak survivor is enough to make a team fall apart and this is currently most of the games in red rank. Thats just useless data.

  • It should really be easier to get stacks. There should never be the need to throw the game bc of stacks.

  • Not trapping the exit gate is a bug on some maps.

And that should be in Feedback not in Discussion.

  • No. Overcharge works most of the time only against bad survivors. They lose most of the time anyway. The game shouldnt be harder for them, while it has no real impact on good survivor.

Like @Boss said, I like stuff that's free, but I acknowledge that, if the whole cosmetics collection suddenly became mine for free, I would be happy for two days and then not care. I think having to unlock stuff makes it more fun in the long run, so I think my preferred method is unlocking rewards over time through normal play -- similar to how the shards work now, except I'd make the pace a little faster.

So cosmetics which you need to earn are more worth for you. Does it depend on how hard you need to work for it?

it already does that, when it shows my BP and rank progress, the message adds nothing but needless mockery that serves no purpose other than to encourage me to tunnel and camp, which isn't fun for the poor schmuck i do it too and to be frank isn't fun for me either, i would prefer to have fun and not be told it was wrong, i would like to spend the game chasing hunting and having high stakes defenses of gens not mindlessly staring at someone on hook, but that is what the game is telling me to do, for no reason,

Its just a wording regarding the lore. The entity feeds on strong emotion and you didnt do your job. What do you care when the entity is displeased?

Its not worse then you lose or similar things in other games.

A usual adult should be able to deal with it. I dont know your circumstances, but when you are not able to deal with it, then dont play a game where you play against other players.

Some People don't want to improve. They think if they watch their favourite Killer Streamer that they'll do just as well. Ans then if they don't, they start complaining and saying stuff like "survivor sided".

Or when someone says "gen rush" while them as Killer were just wandering around not even trying to apply pressure.

I think the problem is that they know that its possible to lose when you play perfect. Then they think everytime they lose, it is such a match. But in reality they did make many mistakes.

The knowledge there are impossible matches is an easy excuse for them.

yeah it's sooooo mature to need a "loser" to feel like a winner, "Waaah! that person had fun and isn't miserable because they only did super well and enjoyed themselves but didn't score the winning touchdown! how can i feel like a real winner when the other person isn't being treated badly!?" that's what you are arguing for, a childish sense that others having fun and not being insulted devalues the other side's victory, in literally every sports competition if an announcer or such mocked the losing team they would be dragged to hell because that's not how healthy competition works, my score is the arbiter of my efforts, having a lame insulting message ruin my mood doth not improve the game for anyone, it's not even like those fools who crouch over and over, at least they get some childish glee out of it, but this message won't even show up for them it serves no purpose other than to say "should have NOED camped one of them!" it's pointless and annoying, a negative with no positives,

Like you said. Its only you. You are the only one who sees the message. Survivor dont know your result and most of the time they dont even care. You are contradicting yourself. So stop complaining.

Its your lacking ability to deal with two words. Its you who needs a game to tell you, you did good.

  • No we are not in preschool where everyone wins for participation. When you play this game you are an adult, so you should be able to deal with two words.

Even the sweatiest of SWFs get outplayed by truly good killers. Without requiring busted things. example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5uUUAz7m1U. Otz is objectively good at killer in this game, and even hamstrung himself in the match and came out on top. doesn't require a 1 in 100 bloodweb addon/offering. Believe it or not this game is balanced so that someone deserving of their R1 killer to stand a chance against 4 R! SWFs. Survs just seem to get mad when all 4 dont get out and killers likewise if they dont get a 4k. That being said i do think killers should be able to change killer in the pregame.

This game is a classic. I realized only now that two of them were from agony, the winner of hexys best of the best tournament.

But i dont think its representative anymore. Old ruin helped otz a lot. And he did know what they had and hardcounters object. In the best of the best tournament freddy had no chance.

And there is the other problem. You may have a good chance with Nurse, Spirit, Hag and maybe another killer against this teams, but this game has 22 killer.

  • I like Brutal and Save the best for last. But i use it only on clown. Most of the time i use only one or no chase perk.

I wasn’t looking for a solution for normal tunneling just tunneling off hook for mori. Normal tunneling is perfectly fine it’s a strat just like gen rushing. Toxic? Yes, but a strat still

Ok then you have your solution. Tunneling off hook with a mori and without a mori is now the same.

  • @Asssblasster625 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1804056#Comment_1804056

The other change that people were recommending ( have everyone hooked once ) was a much better solution because it required and encouraged you to apply pressure on all survivors instead of just tunneling immediately

I dont know. Using moris as a bandaid fix for tunneling is not the best idea.

There should be a real solution to tunneling.

  • @Tizzle said:

This doesn't address the issue of why Mori's are complained about.

So now the Killer needs to tunnel the Survivor twice off the hook instead of once to kill, ok?

Still promoting the exact same behavior.

At least now you don't have to jump in a locker to not get tunneled out of the game with a Mori after your first hook I guess.

It addresses it. The most complaints were that moris change the game too much in the favor of the killer.

Some killer will tunnel with or without a mori. Now moris are not really helping with tunneling.

But i think they should keep adding survivor bc everyones likes different things and there are surely some people who main Elodie now.

They should only release 3 dlcs a year and focus more on game health.

  • I would move freddy to a-tier. S-tier is tournament viable for me.

Plague B-tier, she has many weaknesses, but she has the potential to win a match when all survivor are injured and her default pool of devotion is used. No other C-tier killer has something with the same strength.

So to put it bluntly, you want to have a completely unrealistic experience that will never play out the way you want because no matter what you will always uncover a flaw because, in DbD, no killer relies exclusively on the m1 chase to find, hit, follow up, and down every single survivor every time you find them in ever single trial.

The most m1 killers there are are Legion, Plague and Myers. They rely exclusively on the m1 chase to down people and are as realistically m1 as killers get.

I know that its unrealistic. But i dont want to use the power and see the results.

  • @blue4zion said:

Plague's infect will only injure them, you have to down with an M1 when they don't cleanse.

Not to mention, it's much better to just start infecting and then injure them yourself with your basic attack. Better than trying to waste time fully infecting a single survivor who is dodging/looping.

I know how to play plague. Thats not the point. I want to play a killer without his power helping me. It may sound stupid, but i want to do it.

  • @Mooks said:

    Maybe Doc fits this description?

  • @MadLordJack said:

Probably Legion, Myers or Plague. Those three have to very heavily rely on the m1 chase in order to get downs.
