Any pre-built ones you'd recommend? I'm completely new to desktop PC set-up's and the options are pretty overwhelming (preferably small scale ones, as I don't have much space.)
Thanks again.
Origin PC would probably be my recommendation if you want a custom machine but don't want to build. IBuyPower is another good one, from what I've heard. There are a few out there with outrageous pricing (like Maingear) you'll want to avoid, though.
That said, while it can seem really intimidating at first, building your own is fun and rewarding, and really relieves your dependence. Getting your own machine up and running is a super satisfying experience, and really, a lot easier than you might think. Also, there are tons of really good content creators out there with instructional videos, and sites make it easier then ever to pick the right and most compatible parts.
The only downside to building, and it's not insignificant for many people, is that while each part is warrantied through its manufacturer, ultimately you are responsible for the assembly and system as a whole. So there is some assumption of risk, or you can pay a system integrator (like the ones I mentioned above) a few (or several) hundred bucks over the cost of parts to do the job for you with much less risk. Not everyone wants to build their own, obvs.

How helpful to the discussion you are. Everyones entitled to their opinion but comments like this arn't helping anyone. Saying Suck it up and deal with it isnt helpful and would rather you just not say anything mate.
But that's what it boils down to. The whole discussion on there merit of leaving games early and the different forms thereof has been had over and over again, to the point where it feels like a broken record.
People have suggested all sorts of ideas such as the ones being tossed around here, but there always seems to be some way they could be exploited or abused. Kind of like discussions on camping solutions.
I personally don't feel like anything is going to change here until we get filler bots. Until then, I would say what I say to surv players: if you're not prepared to play the game out regardless of the variables, don't queue up. Creating punishment free outs is just going to lead to a meta of match shopping, which would have a massive negative impact on the game in general, imo.

Best is subjective - like, I loved Crescendo because it had an absolutely incredible Plague outfit and telling the same story from two different perspectives was really cool. But between the bloodpoints, the way improved character charms, and the Wazzup mask, it's definitely up there. Licensed rifts are always hype.
Yeah, Plague is one of my mains and that outfit is always on. Her best one by far, imo.
But as you say, it's subjective. But objectively, on a value basis, this is easily the best rift since I've been playing.

Why aren't the devs realizing that no one wants to play against swf?
Nurse has already been reworked and survivors will never be happy with nurse as it's unlikely the devs will change how her power functions. Nurse will always be able to blink and survivors will always complain about it. Same with Legion. Legion will always be the killer who runs around putting survivors into deep wounds and survivors will always complain about it.
People rage quitting is not a valid reason to change a killer as there's no way to guarantee the rage quit was because of the killer.
True, but Legion sucks. At least you win those games most of the time.
But yeah, the Nurse is what she is. The only thing for it at this point is acceptance or outright removal, and the latter isn't happening.
@rysm said:
I like going against nurse as survivor lol. It's a true test of my survivor skills tbh. Very unpredictable, need to modify my playstyle based on the playstyle of the nurse. Yeah she's damn hard to go against but that makes it all the more satisfying when I escape. Or on the flip side, I get humbled when I go against a crazy skilled nurse player. I envy all Nurse players - I tried her a good few times and i'm absolutely trash at her lol. So I appreciate the skill and effort that goes into playing her.
I used to feel that way, but I have come to the conclusion that both her skill ceiling and floor are high, but all you have to do to be borderline oppressive to the vast majority of teams is hit that floor and be just decent with her.
But yeah, the crazy skilled Nurse players exceedingly unfun to face.
-
Lol, that is spot on. Nothing to do with the event, I had a match last night where two of the other three brought No Mither, and neither of them could loop. At all. One or the other of them was going down every 15-20 seconds or so. Unfortunately they were both running Boil Over as well, so this went on for a while (but not long enough for me to do all the gens alone), and the third didn't seem to recognize what was going on and kept dying trying to pick them up.
It was...not fun. Thank god for hatch.

I just re-read the OP, and would definitely recommend Clown, since Bamboozle is great on Myers

Did you say Legion is S-tier? Am I reading that right?
Regardless, Spirit is easily the best killer, but Clown has better perks, though Legion has Discordance, which I am a big fan of. Also if OP is going to use Huntress, Iron Maiden should also be a consideration.
For the survs, it comes down to Yui or Felix in terms of perks; I like Lucky Break and Breakout can be useful, but Built to Last can be incredibly useful and is one of my favorite perks.
Not that Jane's are terrible, but her best one is Head On, which you don't really get a whole lot of value from, unless you like memeing around, or coordinating with friends.

True, but consider:
- Though it is still meta, its use rate is less than half what it was
- It's not cheap af anymore, not terribly strong
Also, BHVR can try to shake the meta up, but ultimately it's the players who dictate what it is
-
Myers is a weak killer who is only really fun when using Tombstone or Scratched Mirror (I actually think the latter is about the most fun for both sides you can have in the game).
But the Tombstone Piece does feel unfair sometimes, though it is fun to use. It often feels cheap to use as a killer, but it's hilarious when a surv is BMing right at the start and you just murder them.
As solo surv, I almost always just assume the TP is in play with a Myers, especially if the lead up to tier 3 seems to take a while. Of course that can also go quickly if he gets fed right off the bat, but really the approach against him shouldn't be all the different regardless; try not to feed him stalk, mind your sightlines. When he is in Tier 3 and it seems you're going to take a hit, jump in a locker if you can. It's not as if he can sneak up and Tombstone you.
He definitely needs an overhaul, and I personally would gladly let the Tombstone Piece go, so long as we can keep the Scratched Mirror. That said, I don't think you can take anything from him until he gets a total rework, because his basekit is weak af.
-
I play a very carefree, altruistic playstyle as a solo surv, and this has caused me to become careless, die a lot, and slide into MMR hell a few times even at 1k+ hours.
Unfortunately the way out is to play selfishly. It's not fun (tedious, really) and it feels scummy, but the alternative is staying in MMR hell, unless you do SWF, which I don't do.

Hi,
I play Survivor and Killer but have only been playing for a couple of weeks. I have found it frustrating as a survivor to be face camped. What I hear from the community is only hooks matter. That doesn't seem to be accurate, though. I can put people on hooks, but they get saved when trying not to play as a face camping killer. Sometimes they get saved right in front of me; That is frustrating, and unless I hook the same player three times, sometimes two, it doesn't seem to count for much. So, from my perspective, as a killer, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. It also doesn't help that I'm being paired with other players, as the killer, that is, many multiples higher in their levelling than I am.
as a killer, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't
Welcome to the DBD killer experience.
Facecamping is frowned upon, but if survs are running right in to unhook after you hook, by all means let them have it. That's on them. People will accuse you of camping and tunneling all the time, and just as often as not it was just their crappy play.
But generally be patient with yourself, learning to apply pressure and stack hooks across multiple survs takes time. Like a lot of time. And you won't learn those skills while facecamping.

Absolutely. You wouldn’t have to replace or upgrade with a 30 series and i9 for awhile. I’m currently running a 3090 with the i9. Overkill for DBD, but I stream and game off the same tower so it helps to manage everything easily. Also let’s me play CoD and battlefield with a nice FPS.
I9 with a 3090 is overkill for pretty much everything right now, but as you say, you won't have to upgrade those for a long while.
I built an I7 system in 2011 and was still running the newest games at High+ though like 2017-18 (with GPU upgrades), and it only became totally obsolete and retired in 2020.
I am currently running a Ryzen 9/3080 combo and don't expect to have to build an entirely new machine for at least 5-7 years.
You just can't get that kind of lifespan out of a laptop.

Not from my experience. In my experience 50% of killers play like scumbags just to be scumbags.
Eh, I don't think the percentage of scummy killers is that high, unless people consider trying to win to be scummy. I would say like 10-15%, but that those are just more memorable.
Regardless, I think events have a higher incidence of perceived scumminess from killers because many people just coming back for the event aren't good, and tactics like tunneling/camping are the easiest way for them to win. It's a brief influx of casuals.

Advice is to not get a laptop. Get a desktop build. Get a 30 series GCU with an i9 and you’ll be solid for awhile.
Yeah, 30 series will be more than enough muscle for a while, and I9 or Ryzen 9 will be as well. Heck, even i7 or R7 probably would be, but future proofing on the CPU is advisable.
But anyway, the great thing about building a desktop is being able to upgrade it piecemeal as things get outdated, rather than having to by a whole new system.
It's just way more economical in the long run, and you'll almost always get better performance dollar for dollar.
And even if OP doesn't want to build, you could still pay an SI for a pre-built and come in under budget.
-
My advice is to build a desktop. Gaming laptops always have a built in death clock that started ticking before you even get it.
You could put together a machine that would run this game flawlessly for $1K less than your budget.

I use it because I'm sick of getting blinded in ways that shouldn't blind. I can't count how many times I got blinded through the walls of the shack when I was facing a wall.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I've played plenty of matches where some surv (or worse yet, a coordinated team) with a nuclear powered flashlight has blinded me from what felt like impossible angles (like nose into a long wall) or though tiny gaps, and while those stick in my brain, they just aren't that common.
I would estimate roughly that maybe 1 in 20 flashlight save attempts against me succeed, and most of them are in deadzones.
And of course, there are always hackers out there. But none of these are enough to get me to run Lightborn with any regularity.
-
Eh, unlike old Dead Hard, flashlights have always taken some skill. This is evidenced by the fact that like 90% of flashlight save attempts fail in laughable, hilarious fashion. Like utter futility the overwhelming majority of the time, which is why they are rightly considered to be little more than weak noisemakers in the hands of most survs.
I think my most common utterance while playing killer is (while laughing) "that's not how flashlights work, friend".
And as surv I'm always shocked when one of my team successfully saves me with one. The only time a blind is easy is at a pallet, because the killer is not just animation locked, but directionally locked (and to a lesser degree at locker grabs). A good flashlight save in the open is by no means easy against even a decent killer.
I'm all for limiting the amount of clicks per second to 1-2, but after releasing the button it should turn off immediately.
My very amateur suspicion is that it was just easier to slow down the on/off process than to code in delay intervals.

Franklin's isn't remotely OP, and isn't run nearly enough to be an issue, imo.

Now think of the Killer... any hit they get can/will be healed in 8 seconds (give or take)
Hence why Camping and Tunneling are a thing... and why Franklin's is a thing
Yes I know that Solo sucks right now
Also have you opened a chest at the start of a match and switching the items out? that also counters Franklin's
Yeah, medkits in particular are busted. And now that BW prices are down, survs have more of them than ever. I feel like I have a neverending well of green medkits on my mains, and those (specially with their add-ons) are busted. If the killer hits me and loses sight of me for even 10 seconds, I'm healed, and their time was wasted.
So I don't have any malice toward a killer trying whatever they can to circumvent that.
-
As much as I am enjoying bathing in the tears of flashlight macro and rapid clicky enjoyers, the extra battery usage is pretty lame.

It’s fine. You should be able to chain the effects together if multiple survivors have the perk.
Alternatively, don’t camp and none of this matters to you.
Yeah, in order to use it multiple times per hook state, that means multiple survs have spend a perk slot on it, which isn't all that efficient, especially in matches where camping doesn't occur. So I feel like that offsets.
And as you say, don't camp and it won't matter.

Being solo doesn't change that the other survivors have 12 perk slots to use.
I also play solo 90% of the time and I really don't struggle unless I get teammates who rage quit at the start of the match.
Yeah, it makes life easier if to know what your teammates are running, but whether swf or solo, the killer still has to account for all that mess regardless.
Also, like you I only really struggle and get put out by rage quitters. That is my #1 frustration with solo play, by a mile. The killer being able to see my medkit or toolbox doesn't even register.
@Whoudini said:
If the pig wants to waste 2 perk slots to counter the literal worst item in the game survivors can bring then let her.
For sure. Unless you're an inexperienced killer or the survs have some flashlight hacks, flashlights aren't a big deal at all.
That said, every once in a great while I'll peg a team as a flashlight bully squad in lobby and bring Lightborn just for the lulz, but that's rare. And the reality is that most of your lightborn users run it every time, so seeing items in lobby doesn't really move the needle there. Killers who know how to deal with flashlights don't bother.
And Franklins is annoying, but only because it is run so infrequently that I often don't notice it right away when I do get hit with it, which is a me problem.
-
Surv team:
4 survs
16 perks
4 offerings
up to 4 items, potentially 8 total addons
So yeah, I am not seeing the injustice in letting the killer see the items here. And again, if you're really dead set on pulling one over on the killer, you can last second switch.
-
Not sure, but almost certainly one of the following:
- Scratched Mirror Myers (dozens of those moments)
- A random pallet dropped on me while just patrolling
I would guess the most jumpscares, and likely the worst I've received have been from category #2. No great stories there, just years shaved off of my life.
-
Indeed music written for an audience of one.
-
This has been a painful read
-
Another Hulu produced sequel that was an unexpectedly great revival of a tired franchise and should have gotten a theatrical release (Prey earlier this year is another).
-
This is a pretty simple solution that would satisfy anyone not insanely biased.
It's severely punishes killers who tunnel early, but keeps if from being weaponized in the late game.
The devs would do well to consider this, or something close to it.
-
I've got like 1200 hours in surv and I am not a spectacular looper. Some days are better than others (usually depending on my ability to focus), but on balance I would only say I am decent. But some days I can't seem to loop for more than 30 seconds, while others I can run killers all over.
So I try not to judge, because no one's perfect. We're all "that person" that aggravates their teammates every once in a while.
-
It's hard, but not impossible. I hit Iri 1 strictly in solo every month, but the trip from iri 4 to iri 1 often takes as long as all the ranked preceding. And like many, that involves a lot of aggravating back and forth (like going from 3-4 pips to none and then back up again before ranking up)
Imo, you have to focus and be mindful of varying your gameplay up to hit as many categories as possible, and often play greedier than normal (I usually play pretty selflessly, so I have to balance that out in the final push).
But I don't think it was meant to be easy.

@RatbasterdJr said:
Its always been a concept of multiplayer vs gaming. The winning team talks trash / taunts their win at the losing team. Cod, halo, DBD, WoW, literally anything. Some people don’t, a lot do. I also think it’s a cycle.
for example; (A) group of survivors is beat by (A) killer. (A) killer taunts that group of (A) survivors by hitting on hook, nodders, post game chat etc. (A) group of survivors then goes into the next game against (B) killer and beats that killer. That group of survivors, still salty from the last killer will taunt their win at (B) killer. The cycle then goes on and on.
Of course there are always the gamers that never do it either way, but they are the minority.
I very rarely (not never, I am a flawed human) do anything that is considered "taunting" unless it's giving back, or I am really trying to draw aggro from a tunneller/camper, or if a surv (or survs) were super BM-y.
But one thing I really go to great pains to always avoid is carrying ill feeling from one match the next. On the rare occasion a match gets me super tilted, I'll take a minute or two to decompress.
Of course, if I am in a head state where I am getting easily tilted, I'll usually just stop playing.
As for the topic in general, intent will always take a back seat to inference, whether we like it or not. Especially in a game where they ways we have to express ourselves to reach other can be so ambiguous. There have been times where I nodded to recognize a good play (or after ending a really good chase), but then realized that almost assuredly the person on the other end interpreted it another way entirely.
Is one of us wrong and the other right in these situations? No, not really. Much like real life, there is nuance to these things to be considered. So I usually just try to be as non-demonstrative as I can be.
-
@Xernoton said:
There are far greater issues with balance than this but actually BHVR is planning to bring all grunts of pain to the same volume. Quieter footsteps is not a survivor issue. It only depends on the ground they are walking on, which makes sense to me. Darker cosmetics are not that big of a deal. The only situations where those come in clutch is on Garden of Joy, Midwich and Saloon and that is more of a problem with these maps as they are too dark in some places to see anything. On other maps, yeah it can be a bit harder to make out a survivor in the distance but you still see movements very well. You can also see crows fly in the distance and know someone is around there.
Generally agree, and though it's not a huge deal, I do think dark outfits help a bit more than that. Or at least, a non-neon, complete with colorful backpack and other loud accessories outfit will help in many applications.
Some outfits (mainly Feng, Meg, and Nea) are so virtually incandescent that you can see them practically from orbit.
Conversely, dark cosmetics will help not just on those maps, but on any map where there are bushes or dark corners. In many cases you can tuck yourself in a corner in the killer's field of view and they run right by you.
All that said, I don't think "pay to win skins" in DBD are a thing. Most of the best stealth cosmetics are basic, low shard cost outfits, and the expensive skins are the ones that are more likely to get you spotted/found.

The killer going afk for more than a minute is exceedingly rare, in my experience. I might go a month or two without seeing it. Definitely no more than one a week, at most.
But yeah, simply moving isn't enough to keep the crows from spawning, you have to move between tiles or work on something. Which is fair, really, because it's not hard to skulk around just enough to prevent it (on most maps), while remaining fairly well hidden. If it weren't we'd never get those 30-40 minute hide and seek affairs.
If it wasn't that way, survs could literally walk in circles in some hidden corner and drag matches on for ages.

Yeah, I've only heard like one, maybe two of these seriously proposed by anyone. If we're going off of outlandish things we've seen asked for once or twice, I think we all could come up with a list for both sides that would dwarf that.

But if you are not supposed to win, you are just a point-provider for the Killer. I know that some people would love it and dont see Survivors as anything else, but if you have no chance to win at all in a 3v1, you can rather run to the Killer, suicide and go into the next game.
I think "mains" of one side or the other genuinely see the opposing side this way; as props there to facilitate their own fun, and not actual players. I would say it's actually more common for surv mains, especially teams of friends, to view the killer this way.
I don't think people who play a balance of each think this way.

But it is video game, beauty is important part to sell characters. But you can sell with different abilities too.
Dwight is not handsome but his costumes are usually so troll and funny. So people are buying them.
Nea is very ugly but her cotumes are so badass. She is selling very well.
Jeff is great option for metal music fans.
Haddie... She just has nothing special. She is badass in lore but her cosmetics are terrible. Her hair is terrible. Look Zarina, she is maybe not so pretty but she has a lot good costumes. Especially the AoT skin... There is zero reason to pick Haddie. Her costumes are boring, Youchi and Jonah have same problems.
Yeah, it's really all about the cosmetics. If you release a character with underwhelming cosmetics and then just ignore them, they're doomed, simple as that.
You have to give people a reason to invest in a new character early on, and that reason has to be cosmetics. It's more important that you give new characters a fighting chance than Feng, Dwight, or Kate getting their 2,957th new outfit. By the time they getting around to making new ones like six months later, it's too late.
People will say "Well they're not getting played, so why invest in them?", but it's like no crap, you never gave people a reason to play them.
Look at the last few non-RE surv releases, and it's the same story. Yoichi is rarely played (few cosmetics), Jonah is very seldom played (few cosmetics - he got a good one recently, but again, too late), Mikaela (quite a few cosmetics, resonably popular).
I actually like Haddie's hair. The fact that she has very little variety of hair, not so much. Her lore is among the best, her general appearance needs some tweaking, but is unique. The only thing missing is more cosmetics. Her launch cosmetics are very uninspiring; the basic outfit is pretty bland, one other is a Prime reward, the third has great elements, but is linked (lame).
The different abilities is never going to be a thing. The game is built around standardized survs (in terms of gameplay), it's far too late to change course on that.
Again, my thought is that no new original character should release with any fewer than 4-5 distinct (not counting pallete swapped) cosmetics.
-
@Seraphor said:
Who cares about survivors mains and how many people play a given survivor? They're literally just cosmetics.
It is 100% down to visual appeal and a bit of their vocals. Back story, perks, chapter, etc. mean absolutely nothing.
There's also the positive feedback loop of new cosmetics. Popular survivors get more cosmetic options, which makes them even more popular. There's no solution to this, because cosmetics make money. Why release more Haddie cosmetics if only 2 people will buy them?
You said yourself in this post why it matters, and why people care. Some people like the lesser used characters and would like to see them get some attention on the cosmetics side, not go in the bin of forgotten survs.
And really the die is cast in this regard pretty early in a surv's release. I think each new surv should have a number of cosmetics release at or very shorlty after their initial release. It's pretty obvious that you can directly tie a survs popularity to their cosmetic options, and if you release a surv with one or two underwhelming cosmetics and then ignore them for 6-8 months, of course no one is going to play them.
And I think this the gist of OP's point, and it's valid.
Why even create these new characters if you are just going to let them rot on the vine? Might as well have only ever released 5 or 6, if they are the only ones who get any attention.
-
I dunno, this seems like a high risk, hit or miss at best tactic. I play a lot of Sadako, and I wouldn't even attempt it. I've never seen this attempted, either. Pinning down the right TV is so unscientific, and just camping one is gonna get you rinsed far more often than not. Not to mention that condemnation progresses really, really slowly if you don't force interactions of some type, and that once the surv is condemned, you're still going to have to go to them, which means you have to leave the TV.
I don't think this is dangerous enough to warrant any attention, certainly nowhere near the level of AFK Pig.

I definitely agree that 6.1 didn't change the meta at all. If I pain my car a different color, I still have the same car. The killer meta is still to stack as much slowdown as possible. The perks just have different names now and function a little differently. And I greatly preferred the previous killer slowdowns to the current ones. I think the new killer slowdowns are awful from a gameplay perspective. I struggle to fathom how the CoB/Overcharge/Eruption made it out of playtesting.
I just don't like the direction the game seems to be going. The devs seem to be saying "Hey, it's ok if you're terrible at the game relative to your opponent. You're the power role. Just stack more slowdowns and higher tier add ons." It feels like good play on the survivor side has been devalued by a large margin. You can do all the right things as a team and it just doesn't matter a lot of times since 6.1 because the killer has an absolutely ridiculous slowdown stack.
I'm of the opinion that it's never a good move to balance around weaker players. It wasn't healthy when survivors had instaheals+E key+Mettle of Man. It's not healthy now when killers need zero game sense whatsoever because they can be bailed out by 4 overtuned slowdowns. Were your top killers struggling pre-6.1? I wager that they weren't.
I feel like good survivor play stands out more now than ever. The previous surv meta rewarded mediocre surv play as much if not more than you're saying the current meta rewards poor killer play. The primary driver of all of this surv angst is that players who were mediocre are no longer competitive at their previous MMR. The wheat has been separated from the chaff, and the chaff who thought they were wheat aren't taking that well.
As far as killer (and overall) balance as it relates to slowdown goes, the real villain here is the constant: horrible map design.
What drives the slowdown meta is how wildly different the killer experience can be depending on the combo of killer and map. If you could play a low mobility killer and have map certainty, people wouldn't run slowdown so much. But since you're just as likely to get Red Forest as Dead Dawg, you run those slowdowns every time (unless you are playing a high tier killer, in which case you're either a jerk or not very good).
So long as huge maps and low mobility killers coexist, stacked slowdown is gonna be a thing. It has to be.
Fact of the matter is that for many killers, stacked slowdown is almost necessary. As for the current meta, Eruption is a bit much (and will no doubt be nerfed), but other than that to me it feels like six of one, half a dozen of the other with CoB/Overcharge/PR, etc. compared to Ruin/Undying/Pop, etc.
One thing that actually sucks from the killer side is that the new slowdown meta is now mostly dependent on kicking gens, which is boring and inefficient. And in some cases, it has benefitted me as a surv, when a killer will break chase with me to kick some nearby gen, which happens a surprising amount where it almost never used to.
Are some killers leaning hard on 3 (sometimes 4) stacked slowdown perks? Sure. But if a team can't beat a mid-low tier killer who has dedicated all their perks slots to slowdown, maybe they should do a little self examination in addition to condemning the killer meta.

Could they not compound the matchmaking bonuses though? So maybe there’s currently 100% on for killer, but then there’s another 100% added on for if you play as Demo - something like that? The incentive to backfill the role is still there, and it may make people more likely to go out of their comfort zone?
Ah yeah that’s true, maybe Demo was a bad example. I’ll always be there trying to prop up the play rate though.
I mean they certainly could, but given the bumpy ride it was getting the current version working as intended, I doubt they'd bother.
Plus if we're talking broadly, people playing at higher MMR aren't going to use weaker killers regardless. That extra BP doesn't hold as much value when you're getting stomped. So you'd really only see this have any effect at lower MMR.
All that said, I'd still be in favor of it, generally speaking.

They once said in a japanese Q&A that they want to keep Depipping to have a somewhat skillful element to the Grade System.
However, with the Grades just presenting how much you play, depipping really should go. I have had evenings where I gained 4 Pips in a row, just to lose 4 PIps in a row. Which sucked.
Yeah, I've had that happen, which is especially irritating (and more likely) as you're closing in on Iri 1.
But I don't know if it should be removed altogether, especially now that you can't de-rank/de-grade. Maybe make it so you really have to stink it up (or DC) to de-pip.
One thing I think should absolutely be a thing is that no one de-pips in a match where someone DCs, ever. Except maybe the person who DC'd.
Having a teammate (or multiple survs, if you're playing killer) DC and you lose a pip in spite of your best efforts really sucks.

So I was thinking - since we get matchmaking incentives now to push us to play roles that currently need more backfill, I was wondering, why can’t we get matchmaking incentives that reward extra BPs for playing as a specific killer?
Say for instance, Demogorgon hasn’t had much play lately, so they push out an incentive to play a match as them? I think it would be a good way to bring a bit more killer diversity than just daily rituals. Plus this could be changed every hour or so to keep thing feeling a little less stale and repetitive.
Not sure if anyone’s mentioned this prior so apologies if they have. What do you all think? Can we make this happen please?
I get where you are coming from, but I don't think we'll see this, as it doesn't benefit matchmaking overall, which is the whole point of the incentive.
But I wouldn't mind seeing a broader array of killers (but not all of them; some of the ones I never see I'd rather keep that way).
As for Demo specifically, we're going to see less and less of him as new players come in, and older players move on. That is unless ST comes back, of course.

No? My BP has increased in value. I can buy more with it. It's great.
For sure, BP go further now than ever.

The only thing I dislike is how long and tedious is to spend bps.
Absolutely. My TV actually goes into low power/burn in prevention mode a lot when I am spending my BP, it takes so long.
I don't think there should be a "buy all" but maybe a mechanic where you pick one of the outer nodes and it buys the ones directly in between, or something similar.

The problem with toxicity at higher MMR is you have a lot of people who are used to winning, and do not deal well with losing, or otherwise feeling they were showed up in any way. Like they can't wrap their brains around being outplayed. These are invariably the ones who post "GGEZ" after getting wrecked; people who have an issue with reality.
They should be above petulant, childish sore loser behavior, but often aren't. It's lashing out to cover their own (often only to them) feeling of being "humiliated".
And that's one of the reasons I don't sweat. I don't want to be a the highest levels because it's often (not always, by any means) a toxic, chippy sweatfest (also because my favorite killers aren't high tier). It's also why I don't act cocky in-game. Acting like that and then getting outplayed has to sting the ego. There's not much worse than the taste of your own foot.
On a related note, though there's no way of knowing for sure, I would bet most of this occurs just below the highest levels (if those actually exist), amongst players who think they're at the top. So the egomaniacs and Dunning-Kruger types.

you can play with it, you can play with it on the PS4 platform on the PS5
I know you're just the messenger here, but that's pretty weak sauce, honestly. It's the same account, they should have access to what they paid for. I was fortunate enough to get a PS5 early on and my ST purchases were easily accessible, people who weren't as lucky shouldn't get shafted.
The performance upgrade from PS4 to PS5 is significant, having to play the lesser iteration to use what you paid for would feel pretty bad.
Maybe ST will come back and it can be water under the bridge, but not having thought of contingencies for this beforehand is either a massive brain fart or just brazenly poor customer service.
If it is a situation where this was simply an oversight that can't be rectified, a mea culpa would be more appropriate. If it simply can't be done, people in this predicament should be given some sort of "return"/compensation option for the inaccessible content.

I hope we get actual outfits and not just 400K Bloodpoints again, I subscribe to Prime to get cool costumes and not a handful of Bloodpoints.
For sure. In the current BP economy, you can earn 400K BP in like an hour. It's just not compelling.
If it's just BP or cosmetics that are already or have previously been available, there's not much point.

If they are going to go through with this, I think it'd be much better to just take our mori offerings and give a per item BP payout rather than the system they have planned.

What do I think about tunneling? When it's legitimately tunneling (killer focuses on one player to the exclusion of all others until they are dead), it really sucks.
But context matters; did the killer do this immediately at the start of the game? If so, yeah, that's pretty lame. Really, really lame (but not bannable, that's just absurd). This tactic is typically unmistakable.
Did the killer do this mid-late game when the match was slipping away from them? Then it's fine, and to be expected, honestly.
I never do the former, but will sometimes do that latter. I think tunneling should be a tactic of necessity, not protocol.
But like camping, a lot of people call it out when it's not actually happening. People who feel they were tunneled should ask themselves questions:
- After I was unhooked, did I get the hell away from the killer, or did I assume they wouldn't hit me again, and just kind of hung around in their face? If it's the latter, you weren't tunneled. After you get unhooked, gtfo.
- Did the killer hit or down anyone else after I was unhooked? If so, not tunneling. Really good killers often feel like they are constantly on you, even when spreading damage and downs. In those cases, no one is getting tunneled, the surv team is just getting wrecked.
- Did I deliberately use my BT/OTR endurance to bodyblock for the unhooker after I was unhooked? If so, you didn't get tunneled. (more often than not I will remove survs who do this).
- The ugly question no one wants to answer yes to: am I just the worst player on my team, and the one whose arse is constantly hanging out? If so, blame MMR that you died first.
Also, people who tunnel (or attempt to tunnel) often totally throw the game by chasing the same surv for like half the match. It's a tactic that can blow up in your face if you're not good.

Low effort? They turned her censor into a gumball machine. The only way they could possibly improve upon this is if they changed her vomit into a stream of skittles.
Yes, it would be a "taste the rainbow" mori

I would love more masks, but I'd gladly settle for a graphical upgrade of his current models. He looks like a PS3 model in a PS5 game.

fuuuuuuuuu farming in this situation
2 of you die one gets hatch. The sooner we all get to a real match the better.
This is how I usually handle it. Rarely I farm, sometimes I just sigh and proceed to kill everyone, to get the whole thing over with.
Honestly, making the killer into the bad guy here is counterproductive. The villain in these situations is always the person who DC'ed.
Your teammate DC'd at 5 gens and the killer proceeded to flatten the remaining three survs? Get mad at the teammate.
As soon as you set the standard/expectation that the killer takes it easy in these scenarios, you give people who might be on the fence about DC'ing a "out" for doing it. Like going from "If I DC I'm screwing my team" to "well, if I DC the killer will just let up and farm with them, or let them escape, so it's not a big deal".
Now most people who DC won't care either way, but there are some for whom that would make a difference, and we don't need any more people DCing. People shouldn't misdirect their anger at being left in an unwinnable situation and not winning.
Killers shouldn't be held responsible for everyone's fun, and DCing survivors should be the only ones vilified here.
