  • Not going to lie - this is a disappointing, non-sensical change. The fact that I didn’t read or spot this anywhere in the patch notes and that the 1st I’ve found out about this is through a random post is frustrating.

I’ve bought all my DLC for around the last 8 years exclusively through the PSN store. I like to buy things with actual money and it’s nice having the whole add-on history there in one place and makes it easier for re-downloading etc. Occasionally you’d get a bonus badge / banner / cosmetic for doing so too.

I spent all last night refreshing the store and checking on the PSN app waiting for the update to drop instead of what I should’ve been doing - enjoying the new chapter.

I can only imagine that this change coincidentally has been implemented with the increase of the price of auric cells.

I know it’s petty, (I have around 700k shards just so you know, but I’d still always buy the chapter with money) I could literally buy every original chapter for free for the rest of the life of the game - but you can count me out of future DLC (original or licensed) if this isn’t reversed.

  • The problem is, a couple years ago if a killer camped it was often a guaranteed loss for them - sure they’d get a kill, but that was often enough time to get all the other gens done while they were distracted.

Since then; they gutted Dead Hard, added time on to complete gens, gave killers a reduced cooldown between hits and made maps smaller. Along with having some of the fastest killers that can return very quickly. Especially killers like Leatherface who can eat through the borrowed time endurance and get another healthy survivor ontop.

You used to be able to go for a risky unhook that was being camped, avoid a hit and Dead Hard to a loop. Now the killer can hit you twice before you even have a chance to complete the unhook bar.

DBD actually made camping a viable strategy without realising. Camping often secures a 2K minimum.

It’s genuinely laughable that survivors had preventative measures put in (anti-camp enter doesn’t go up when other survivors are nearby) to stop it being abused, yet no considerations were made for killers that just stand out of the radius.

I don’t know what the actual fix is, but I think people playing with a bit more of a sportsmanship attitude would go a long way. DBD must be able to implement a system that detects unique hooks or when killers tend to hook the same person simultaneously or often hit survivors who are in the Borrowed Time endurance period.

  • I think a big problem with this game is how obsessed killers get with chasing kills. When I play killer, I always spread my hooks / go for double hooks, then let go (unless I’m completing challenges). I genuinely don’t get why so many chase the 4K constantly (often relying on slugging and tunneling to achieve it), then they get to higher MMR, then complain the game is survivor-sided when they can no longer consistently win anymore. Maps are so small now - killers have some many gen regressing / blocking and aura perks. Survivor is rough now, especially when you’ve had the same gen get blocked and regressed 6 times in a row when the killer has not even directly interacted with the gen. Whilst your team mates give up because they don’t want to play against a particular killer / perk.

I’ve been playing for 7 years, and I can safely say, killer has never been easier - but older players get drowned out by newer players constantly venting their frustrations. I know balancing of killers is a big issue right now, but not everyone is supposed to go into every match expecting the 4K on a silver platter.

The toxicity has definitely increased since the finisher mori was forced upon us. I’ve had some truly awful games since this event started, I think a lot of people need to question why they still play the game if they clearly don’t enjoy it. (Putting a survivor pudding or mori on in event queue really is a crappy choice). I do reckon the MMR matchmaking does need some work, don’t get me wrong - matches should have more balance to them. It should always feel like a 50/50 chance or you escaping or getting killed. It’s very rare I have a match where I can say the killer feels like their skill is on par.

  • Hey bubbalovesme,

I don’t think it matters how you own DBD, all rewards and cosmetics are linked to your Behaviour account. I only have the disc PS4 version, and I have the PS PS5 version when it was a free monthly game, so I didn’t have to bother with the disc anymore. As long as you select what platform you have Frank Stone for and what platform you have DBD for, it should all work fine. I did have a little trouble linking my accounts though but maybe this has been fixed since. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on :)

  • I’m hoping that the revamped dailies might feed into this. I do think they try to sway people into playing killers they don’t often with them.

When I play killer, I tend to pick a random one (unless it’s challenge specific from the tomes) I want the survivors to have some variety and I’d rather have a more difficult / fun match myself. Honestly don’t know how anyone can play the same killer back to back

i got adept in the first match lol still leveling it up, even tho none of his perks are even close to be remotely good...

Definitely speaks to how busted as a killer he is - horrible perks, but I got my adept on 1st attempt too (the other 2 matches were for the other trophies).

I’ve been playing for 7 years and I can safely say I’ve never got this bored of killer variety before. Definitely showing no signs of improving anytime soon. Worried it’s going to ruin the event for me because I honestly can’t face playing survivor at the moment.

  • @Chiky said:

Well, you gotta learn how to use the new killer, right? the only way to do so is by playing it...

That is true, I got my P9, adept and trophies after 3 matches though 👀

That is if tunneling does not play a major part in the kill rates. If tunneling leads to a significant drop in kill rates, something else will have to be done to pull it up again.

Buff Killers to be more oppressive in chase/reduce Survivor Counterplay? Remove resources on maps to make them more Killer sided? Introduce or buff more game stalling perks? Those would become the next thing to complain about after tunneling and slugging gets restricted.

An additional side effect of a reduction in Kill rates is a decrease in people who play Killer. This would lead to matchmaking becoming less strict cue more complaints of imbalanced matchups and even cosmetic sales would be slightly affected.

Devs have to consider all the possible backlog of additional work that would surface solely from "fixing tunneling" and look at their schedule and decide when to slot it in. Given their track record, it would be far easier and more profitable to just introduce more anti tunnel Survivor perks rather than a basekit overhaul that people are advocating for.

I think that’s the problem as you say, either killers tunnel from the get-go at 5 gens or they start fair and spread hooks, then default to tunneling when the match isn’t going their way. Tunneling in any capacity pretty much always leads to a snowball effect and an easy win.

I think somehow the whole gameplay ethic needs to change. I think anyone who plays both killer and survivor, is fully aware how awful it is to be on the receiving side of tunnelling. Too many killers sweat so hard, I think the focus should change to hook counts rather than kills. So many seem to think it’s either I had a good match and got a 4K, or I had an abysmal match - there’s no inbetween with match outcomes as far as the bulk of killers are concerned.

with the reduction in map sizes, this has lead to a reduction in useful loops as well as map resources (pallets) you also have to consider that so many new killers have anti-loop / pallet abilities baked in. I think there’s on so much you can go with it.

I'm by no means an expert survivor, but I’m lucky to escape more than 20% of my matches nowadays (maybe I play too altruistically?) but I can consistently play killer with my BP boost build (Thrill of the Hunt, BBQ & Chili, Distressing) with no gen regression perks and get 12 hooks. I think the game just has a big learning curve for killers and there’s so many differences in how to play each one.

I think killers do rightly so get frustrated when gens ping, but I think they forget that kills aren’t everything. I’ve had so many killers disconnect in EGC, when there’s 5 BPs offerings on and they would’ve still got good points, but they just nope out of the match rather than try to improve or think of what they could’ve done differently. It must be the game / survivors that are the issue, not how they’ve played. I think that’s a lot of where the issues crop up. I know they have to appease both sides, but it does seem to tipped for in the killers favour.

again, this was proved during the Lights Out event. This was supposed to be the most level playing ground experience since the game’s inception. But pretty much all the killers did was tunnel still and sap all the fun from it.

  • I’d probably be happy to buy all the DLCs again. Even if it was part of some kind of flat port / DLC import price.

It’s more just wanting to try DBD on PC. I started playing DBD on PS4 5 years ago and then moved to PS5 - I just wouldn’t want to start from scratch levelling all my characters to P9 again. I’d jump at cross progression that could offer me that.

  • @appleas said:

Devs could make tunneling a bannable offense, they could add more harsh penalties. Even adding tunneling to the list of repeatable offenses isn't an impossible task.

They haven't. That should say a lot about their stance on it.

DBD used to have the stance that camping was a recognised strategy way back when. It was good when they did backtrack on it and introduced basekit Borrowed Time.

I do live in the hope that they will go back and take stock of the tunneling issue and find an effective way to tackle it. It would be good if there were some added categories to the post-match reporting system ‘tunnelling’ etc even if it wasn’t used for anything other than metrics. The game must know the killers that choose to consistently tunnel.

i’d love for the matchmaking to work like GTA, if you play in a detrimental way, you get put in the same sandbox with other detrimental players and you can ruin the game for each other and leave everyone else to enjoy the game.

That's why I hit survs as they are unhooked.
Bye Bye DH, BT and OTR.

but this is a fundamental problem with the game - you should never be close enough to the hook to be able to hit someone during their BT timer. Yeah face camping isn’t really a thing anymore, but it’s just been replaced by proxy camping and returning to the hook.

For example, both the unhooked and the unhooker getting hit by Leatherface or Pyramid Head when they follow you back to the hook when you go for the unhook.

All the killers that complain about body-blocking while tunneling really don’t get it. They should be pressuring gens, but choose the easy option of pressuring / swapping hooks pretty much everytime instead.

  • I don’t play for bloodpoints / competitively anymore. I play to stay on top of challenges / rifts / trophies - that does help for playing for fun / no sweating. (all my killers & survivors are P9-50)

For killer: I want a challenge, but I only go for for 12 hook matches (tend to double hook everyone and then maybe boost a bit (unless challenge says otherwise). I do enjoy catching a sweaty SWF team off-guard. Hate nothing more than when matchmaking messes up and I get a potato match. Lose interest completely when it doesn’t even feel like sport.

Survivor: not fussed about escaping. I tend to play solo quite a lot, just want competent teammates that aren’t afraid to do gens and are altruistic. I like a match where we’re on equal footing with the killer, not a sweat / being stomped on, but a 50/50 chance of escaping or getting sacrificed. They’re the exciting / engaging matches where it could go either way and the killer keeps you on your toes and can pressure you without resorting to playing scummy.

For about half the killers that is realistically the case.

Although, I agree that tunneling needs to be addressed. I'm very much looking forward to the update to DS. We'll see how much it does but at least it should help a little. Killers that don't tunnel mostly won't have to deal with it (at least that's what I hope for) and tunneling killers will have to deal with it. So, there is kind of an incentive not to tunnel (less perks to worry about) and a penalty for doing so.

I’m cautiously optimistic that the DS change will somewhat help. I just worry it will lead to an uptake of killers reverting to slugging again. If a killer is determined to tunnel you out of the match, they’ll just persevere through the DS stun just like they did before.

That’s the reason why I do love running BT, worth it just to see scummy killers try to count and go for the down when tunnelling because they’ve counted to 10 instead of 20 ha.

  • @Crowman said:

The solution is survivors do gens while someone is being chased. Someone being tunneled out at 5 gens is the fault of the survivors, because it's already possible for 2-3 gens to be completed by the end of the first chase.

I feel like this used to be viable - but ever since they changed the generator speeds, it’s no longer an effective counter-strategy. For example, back in the day, If someone was face camping - by the time they died, you could have pinged the rest of the gens and guarantee a 3-man escape still.

Now, if they camp or tunnel at 5 gens, it ends up being an easy guaranteed 2k for the killer (best case scenario) but more than likely snowballs into a 4k.

You can accumulate watchtime by watching anyone streaming DbD. Not just the official channel.

Ah perfect, I didn’t realise it worked the same as the last drops - that’s a relief, thanks for your help

  • I got home late and only just had chance to start watching the stream - does anyone know if you’ll get the drops as long as you’ve participated at some point while it was live please?

  • I think I tried the DBD email newsletter code first, then the Amazon one - so maybe the newsletter code has messed something up if others are saying it hasn’t works for them?

    What codes???

The usual Amazon Prime 400k bloodpoints code you can redeem, as well as the code in the bottom of the latest DBD ‘Haunted by Daylight’ email newsletter for 100k bloodpoints

I think the game was ported over to the consoles in like 2018 or so. The consolers makes up the vast majority of the playerbase by far.

Those players in 2016-17 could only be from Steam.

I’m a console player - I started December 2017 (PS4) but I was a couple months late after the port as I was still finishing F13 ha!

  • I can personally vouch that support really did come through for me recently. I submitted an in game report for someone working with the killer and sent supporting videos of the survivor who was ratting all team mates via the reporting part of BHVR’s website. (Beckoning the killer and pointing at the other survivors and teabagging when we died).

If it’s deliberate enough and you have the proof, it’s most definitely worth reporting them. Dealt with swiftly. They really have low tolerance for any fragrant game spoiling like that. I wouldn’t normally bother, but this survivor really did deserve it. Do everyone a favour and play the game fairly, or not at all.

4,386 more hours and you’ll have played DBD for an entire year’s worth of your life🥳

Kind of a scary thought! I’ll be stepping back for a well-deserved break though - I’ll literally just keep on top of the new chapters / rifts and hibernate in between haha!

  • @BarnesFlam said:

Great! Now time to prestige a character up to 100!

Haha I’ve done well to resist it so far and stick to my plan. Don’t know if that will always be the case though hehe

Is it really completed if you haven't p100 everyone.

Haha I did think long and hard about getting some further than Prestige 9 , but I figured it just wasn’t worthwhile for me. It would be physically impossible to get all of them to it and it would stress me more having odd numbers - I like them all being the same. The rewards stop at Prestige 9, and as much as I wanted a Prestige 100 Steve, you don’t get anything extra for it other than getting a hard time from the killer haha.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Congratulations!

I don't go after achievements nearly as much as I used to but I appreciate the feat all the same!

If your looking for questions I guess the most obvious would be most difficult achievement on both sides?

& perhaps most frustrating (which may or may not be the same thing!)

As someone who has put in over 12,000 hours across steam / ps4 / switch / stadia & mostly (& exclusively these days) xbox one / series X I honestly think the only achievement thats probably beyond me is the downs with hunteress from a million miles away (might as well be at least) I used to main her 6 years ago now would probably miss cow shed from 10 ft away!

Thank you! You’ve got a seriously good play count too!

I’d love for cross progression so I could mix it up and play on PC someday and see how different it is.

Hardest / grindiest survivor: Left Behind (doing the last generator and escaping) so upsetting to get so close on both PS4 and PS5 only to get downed at 99% gate. Outbreak Breakout as a close 2nd, opening the gates 20 times on RPD was the definition of pain.

Hardest / grindiest killer: probably the Evil Incarnate - getting 4 kills with Mike Myers using the Tombstone piece was challenging because of someone disconnecting or escaping in the hatch. So glad when I chalked this off. Other considerations, have to be Skilled Huntress for the 100 distance downs was tricky, but occasional boosting made this a bit more bearable. Another shoutout to to the original Deranged Pursuit one (25 Legion Downs) that was truly awful - so glad that was reworked by the time I was on PS5!

it was definitely worse not letting my trophies stack because you knew which trophies would be a nightmare to earn for a 2nd time ha!

  • @TragicSolitude said:

It's specific each day. A friend with a new account (so missing all cosmetics) missed one day and missed out on that piece.

Ah thanks so much for being able to confirm. Looks like I’ll be logging in everyday just to be sure then haha. So glad they don’t tie unlockable rewards to daily logins anymore! Just hope I didn’t miss out on Tuesday, not sure if I played then or not.

Thats what I am thinking. However if the anniversary is meh too, this game could start a huge decline.

Ngl, not having a licensed chapter last year for the anniversary reveal was a big let down. Hopefully they won’t make that mistake again. I’ve been playing for a long time - 5+ years, and this is the first time I can say I have no interest or hype in this chapter whatsoever. I have 500k shards saved up that I don’t use, and I will be using them to buy this chapter rather than use my money for the first time.

It’s also really grating on me that they decided to release 2 simultaneous survivors again. That’s just another survivor I’d have to prestige 3 that I have no interest in playing as just for the perks.

How a lot of the matches have been going lately, coupled with an uninspired chapter is, it’s making playing DBD seem more and more like a chore / work as opposed to fun. I’d happily lose a chapter each year out of the rotation if it affected the overall quality.

  • I’m genuinely with you on 2), I could be being too optimistic or naive - but I’m thinking they’ve knowingly released 2 under-whelming chapters back to back because they have something really good in the pipeline for the anniversary chapter. Something that’s going to make it look comparatively even better and make up for poor reception and sales of the previous ones.

Maybe the last couple chapters haven’t been as good as they hoped because their resources have maybe been diverted towards the anniversary chapter, especially as it’s looking like it’s going to be licensed.

Kind of like when you got to see a band play live and they purposefully have a bad support band so theres more hope for when the headliner comes out and seems way better haha.

  • It’s unfortunate, but these circumstances have always forfeited the killer from getting the adept achievements. The only one being a slight exception, is the mori one - if you still get enough hooks in it’s possible.

I know the adept requirements have been changed since, but there is still a degree of difficulty that comes with unlocking them. Promise you, best way is patience, you will eventually unlock them. Good luck!

(I have all the trophies on PS4 / PS5 - pre adept changes to confirm)

  • Are you sure they’re gone? I had a panic about my offerings too, but it seems that they have just been moved to the last page. They no longer show in the first items page anymore for my survivors or killers, instead they show on the last page now. Not quite sure why they changed that though 🤷🏼‍♂️

*EDIT - sorry I’m half asleep and just realised you mean that they may not be stacking or working as intended, rather than the offerings themselves are gone 🤦‍♂️

  • @Astrian said:

Blame the devs. They made an achievement where you have to go to RPD, open the gate, and escape 20 times.

Tell them to never do it again

I just don’t get why it exists. They went back on their achievement / trophy design. They promised no more grindy or impossible ones again. They had actually been quite tolerable to get them unlocked for the last couple chapters, then straight out of nowhere this pops up 🙄

It’s horrible for me, I had 100% on both PS4 and PS5 - I’ve got to still do it like 29 more times between both console with no RPD offerings left due to prestiging a lot of my survivors that had a lot of them before the rework 😫

You’re lucky to get RPD maybe 1/30 matches and then you have to factor in trying to get all the generators done, as well as somehow opening the gate yourself and escape. This achievement should never have had this condition - it should’ve just been straight up escapes by any means 🤷🏼‍♂️

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/349842/can-we-get-bp-bonuses-for-playing-as-certain-killers

I get where you are coming from, but I don't think we'll see this, as it doesn't benefit matchmaking overall, which is the whole point of the incentive.

But I wouldn't mind seeing a broader array of killers (but not all of them; some of the ones I never see I'd rather keep that way).

As for Demo specifically, we're going to see less and less of him as new players come in, and older players move on. That is unless ST comes back, of course.

Could they not compound the matchmaking bonuses though? So maybe there’s currently 100% on for killer, but then there’s another 100% added on for if you play as Demo - something like that? The incentive to backfill the role is still there, and it may make people more likely to go out of their comfort zone?

Ah yeah that’s true, maybe Demo was a bad example. I’ll always be there trying to prop up the play rate though.

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

There are certain reasons why certain killers are not being played (Twins, Freddy, Hag) and an incentive isn't the right fix to the problem. I'll pass.

I know what you mean, but a perfectly balanced game where every killer is as viable as the next isn’t going to happen. There’s always going to be the killers that will out perform others - that’s just down to the design of the game, killers and perks. Far too many variables that can’t just be changed on their own.

I mean, I’d play a Hag match for X3 bloodpoints, even if it might not be the best. Too many killers think anything less than a 4K merciless was a failure. I want to play the game for fun, not get shoe-horned into playing as only 3 killers with the same perks - same rationale with the meta perk shakeup - they’re trying to push for more diversity and more mixed gameplay which I totally welcome.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

What annoys me more is that they did not consider the BPs spent at all. Like, my Nea probably did thousands of P3-50 Bloodwebs, I have hundreds of each Item, Add On and Offering on her. She was P9 when the Prestige-Changes dropped.

My Jonah went from P0 to P3-50 with all Perks and then I never touched him again. He is P9. Same as Nea.

Some of my Killers as well, e.g. I never touched Hag after I P3-50ed her with all Perks, but she is the same like Killers I played very frequently like Billy or Demo.

This is what I found deflating too. I had Steve, Claudette and Dwight all completely maxed out with all the perks available at the time. When the prestige update dropped, they went to prestige 9 - the same as all my other survivors that I got to prestige 3 then never touched again once I got their bloody cosmetics. Felt really shortchanged by that. Definitely not a fair trade for the time and bloodpoints invested.

  • It’s such a super frustrating trophy. I feel like you’re lucky to get the RPD map maybe less than 1 in 20 matches at the moment. It didn’t increase the spawn frequency at all during the last update.

I had so many offerings for this map that I lost due to prestiging before the prestige rework too. There’s still so many people that hate this map that tank the match the moment they see what map it is.

I just don’t get why they went back on their ‘non-grindy’ / impossible achievement design. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it was just a straight up escape by any means, but why they added that extra condition of actually opening the gate too is beyond me. And even 10 times would’ve been too high for the requirement, never mind 20 times to replicate this.

I’m a completionist, and the fact I now will probably not get this trophy on either my PS4 / PS5 has really deflated me. Guess I’ll just stay at 99% and 98% complete forever then? Just another thing to punish solo queue with 😕

I'm not so sure we can continue to accuse them of "increasing the grind."

100 prestige levels for every survivor and killer.. you have to be joking.

I won’t lie - I wasn’t the biggest fan of the prestige rework, I definitely got short-changed by the Prestige 9 cap on the switchover. But I have to agree, the restriction in bloodweb costs is a really healthy, good change. You can level characters up way faster than before. It used to take ~1.4M BPS to get a survivor from level 1-50 now your BPS go so much further.

It’s nice that you can get up to prestige 100, but this is down to personal preference. I’m not interested in getting anyone of my killers or survivors past Prestige 9. The rewards end there, and by then they know all the perks in the game for me 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m literally concentrating on getting my last couple of survivors to Prestige 9, but I suppose I do have time on my side as I’ve been playing for around 5 years now.

  • I still use Thrill of the Hunt purely for the extra bloodpoints. I don’t mind the change if I’m being honest - there used to be some awful un-winnable situations when running Devour Hope and Thrill of the Hunt. Basically was game over at that point 😬

  • Can confirm, I attempted this today as The Shape (my go to killer for exposed challenges) and it didn’t count for me. Changed killer to Leatherface with an exposed build instead with; Dragon’s Grip, Hex: Devour Hope, NOED and Make Your Choice and it then unlocked for me. Must just be an oversight on this challenge.

  • I too worry about not having the option to give the hatch to the last survivor. I don’t always do it if I’m being honest, but I’d still like the option available when necessary.

I do understand the reasoning behind having the last survivor be instantly moried - I guess it should slightly speed up the process of the end game, and should give a satisfying conclusion.

I was thinking there could be a way around this - perhaps when the last survivor is downed, there is an on screen prompt for ‘mercy’ or ‘Mori’. If the killer chooses the former, they are automatically picked up and auto-guided to the hatch somehow with no interaction. If they choose the latter, they get moried and the match ends - thoughts?

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve accidentally drawn out the game because I’ve taken forever to find the hatch to give to the survivor haha 🤣

  • @BenOfMilam said:

I didn't watch the livestream. Are yellow mori's getting changed or removed because of this change?

Moris will no longer be offering based. I’m guessing all Moris (pink, green and yellow) will be retired. They will become a base mechanic of the game that the killer has no control over. It will just happen automatically when the last survivor is downed - is what I gathered from the livestream.

I would like to see more + bolder PTB experiments. There is no reason why they can't put out a beta branch where they just experiment with a few ideas for a week. They could do a whole week where they just experiment with different ways to balance Dead Hard, or spend a week fiddling with percentages on over/under performing perks/addons, or let people vote for percentage changes on a perk/addon and trying the most popular suggestions out for a day each on a PTB.

If there is a problem that prevents more experimental PTBs I would like an announcement that they're fixing that problem and will settle for an announcement about more PTBs once the problem is solved.

I always thought it would be cool if they had modded matches maybe like once a week or once a month. Just random, stupid things - separate from ranks etc. where they pick and change / modify 1 gameplay setting; Quadrupole fog, survivors half speed, killer has no heartbeat, trials have a couple of trick generators in them that break when they’re finished so you have to do extra ones to get all 5 of the real ones working. Just random little things like that, I know it probably wouldn’t be worth the extra workload for the devs, but it would certainly be fun every now and then. I’d definitely play it 🤞

Uh no, camping and tunnelling are tactics even the devs have said so. Does it suck? Sure. Is it fun? Not really. That is a balance issue. Have you stopped to think it might have gotten so bad BECAUSE of the survivor meta deciding who a killer is allowed to go for? M1 killers cant get the 12 hooks they need to win against competent survivors, there is not enough time in a match so camping somebody out is the best bet. You saying you would rather quality killers over quantity may be the most stupid thing I have ever heard. Because that means you play nurses for the rest of your life lol because you DAMN well aren't going to be left with the 'niceguy' killers once every other killer hangs up their boots.

Seriously man you are saying killers shouldn't be allowed to try to win in a way you deem unfun. For real? Deal with it.

I guess whatever helps you sleep at night? I bet you tunnel and camp at 5 gens. Do you want to know a secret about why the devs consider it a tactic? Admin. Pure and simple, it would be a logistical nightmare for them to manage the extra influx of reports it would generate. Better to turn a blind eye to it to keep killers feel vehemently justified to their brain dead play style.

I didn’t say quality killers - I said quality matches. A quality match is where the SBMM has succeeded in curating a balanced match. One where survivors and killers points are pretty much equal post trial. I’m not saying killers should sacrifice their fun at the expense of survivors’ fun. I’m enough of an adult to admit when I’ve been outplayed by a killer, but why should my match be over because I got insta-downed by a face camping Bubba within the first 20 seconds of a match? No perks, play style or competency of my other survivors, can counter that.

You can still get a decent amount of points without getting 12 hooks or a 4K. Just so many players are so black and white with this, why is it so hard to comprehend that sometimes you may just not get a kill and move on to another match? I guess too many inexperienced killers like the ‘Hook Guarding Simulation Game’ too much 🤷🏼‍♂️

You are right. People shouldn’t play to win. 🙄

Yes. Exactly what I was implying 🙄

I’m not saying matchmaking is perfect by any means, but I can accept when I’ve had a rough match and obviously been out skilled / out ranked by the survivors I’ve been paired with. What I’m saying is, far too many low skilled killers have disproportionate egos and can’t fathom not securing at least a kill or 2. They expect the a good outcome every match they play. I’d rather not play killer at all than play scummy 🤷🏼‍♂️

Far too many people make themselves feel better convincing themselves with the whole ‘it’s a play style / tactic’ defence. I’ve been playing the game for 5 years, and I’ve never known it to be so bad. Sure, you can use BT and Decisive Strike and Dead Hard - but face it, if the killer wants you out with extreme prejudice, there’s not a lot you can do. If killers quit and the queue time goes up, fine whatever, I’d rather have quality over quantity.

I’d like to see if removing the grade system all together would have a meaningful impact on the level of sweat.

  • I need Mathieu Cote to lift up a physical Funko Pop in his hands and say, ‘this will be available for preorder right away’.

I’ve never been so hyped, yet so crushed at the same time when he hastily announced them in the 5th anniversary stream - only to then have complete radio silence. If they’re not coming, that’s fine, but you shouldn’t have added something in as an after-thought that was never going to materialise.

Other than that, gameplay wise - I’d like some practical solutions for; preventing camping, proxy camping and tunnelling. Even something as similar as Pyramid Head’s cages would go a long way. I need people to remember the game is supposed to be fun for both sides, not just defaulting to playing scummy because the match isn’t going your way.

That's sort of why I like Trickster's...I feel like he's like, "Aw, man!"

Ah I forgot about Tricksters! Yep definitely! It’s basically the same noises I make when I’m playing killer haha

  • Nope. Ghost Face - hands down! That sigh that he does everytime - it’s like ‘Oh great, another pallet to the face. Why am I still chasing them? ‘

  • I know your pain! After getting a PS5 and trying to work my way through all the trophies again, I quickly realised how awful some of them are to get! (Left Behind, I’m looking at you)

SWF would be the easiest option - if you have 3 people you can communicate with and hopefully carry you while you stay out of the way most of the match. That is hands down the easiest way to do it. (Hide in lockers when team mates are hooked to prevent being found with BBQ and Chilli)

if SWF isn’t an option for you, definitely a stealthy build instead. Run perks (if you have them); such as Distortion, Dark Sense, Spine Chill, Calm Spirit and Left Behind

Get the generator in the main asylum building done as early as possible (try not to start the generator until you know the killer has patrolled at least once). Then literally hang in there and hope your team mates can complete the rest of the generators and get the gates open. When you know it’s 100% clear of the killer. Work your way to the gate or hatch.

Ultimately a very luck based trophy. If you put it to the back of your mind you may just get an AFK killer and get it that way.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hey Johny_XMan & Luciferr_2nd!

It was literally the DBD news that I’ve been the most excited about - there’s so many possibilities with the Funko Pops they could do so many cool ones!

Ah I must’ve missed that Cote interview. That doesn’t sound good. I know obviously an agreement can be in place, but if either party decides they don’t like the terms they can back out. Maybe DBD wasn’t happy with the percentage of sales that Funko was offering?

I really hope they do still materialise. Maybe they need to know enough people are still very much keen on getting hold of them.

  • Hey ChurchofPig,

Thanks so much for your reply!

Yeah I suppose that is a good point about the announcement that they wouldn’t say it unless something had at least been agreed upon.

I think I was just super excited from way back when they started following Funko on Twitter we knew something was brewing.

Just strange as normally a lot of Funko Pops are preorders that are up to a year in advance prior of their release. I’m just thinking with no pictures, announcements or anything since I’m guessing they’re still a long way off still.

  • How long is your code?

I typed it in wrong 3 times before I realised there was an extra character hiding right at the end:

    what I was typing:

    XXX25d9d-XXe-XX8b-XX0b-XXX92cba855

    what it actually was:

XXX25d9d-XX1e-XX8b-XX0b-XXX92cba855a (sneaky extra ‘a’ at the end that didn’t show on the screen)

    (Code already redeemed)

I’d try copying and pasting the code somewhere and count how long your code is. I think it should be 36 long with the dashes.

    Hope this helps! :)

  • Absolute nightmare to boost this trophy! so many people either don’t understand what you’re trying to do or constantly dodge the hatchets even when they’re boosting with you.

I’d recommend boosting a little with the team first and let them know you want to farm, e.g. let them pallet stun you a few times and nod your head. I’d make sure you are running the nurses calling perk so you’ll know if the survivors aren’t highlighted red you are far away enough for the downs to count. I then get the survivors to follow me and then whack a wall in the distance so they know to stand there. Then you find yourself a convenient locker to stand by. Keep throwing and lining them up until you get used to it and get those downs. Hopefully rinse and repeat as much as they’ll let you. Good luck!
