    This makes escaping impossible again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307314/boil-over-again

Bully Squad = not every squad. There’s regular players, just like me. Who likes having a possible chance to escape a killers grasp when once they’ve messed up. This perk doesn’t work on every map well. And I think you are just going a bit too far. You can just let players bleed out if you are afraid of it or dodge such SWFs. Some names are obvious but not every. It’s probably a map issue design.

And again on my next day, the crying starts over again. This community is really disappointing.

Arguing that it is a flaw in map design is absolutely pointless when players have complete control over deciding what map they want to go to.

  • This is gonna make me sound Whiney but it’s the truth. The difficulty since MMR was added is what killed my interest. I work full time and I’m in school atm. When I play games I’m not trying to sweat and fight tooth and nail every single game. Sure it’s a fun challenge every now and then but what made challenges in this game more fun is they were outside of the norm. I can’t relieve stress playing this game anymore and that’s what really killed it for me.

If it went through solvent jug and garish makeup kit would have the exact same effect. They probably realised this during the ptb

It’s hilarious to me that instead of just buffing the makeup kit too. They come to the conclusion that the jug doesn’t need to be buffed.

So basically, even though it's already been illustrated that there is one map that has an area in which Boil Over flat out makes you unhookable no matter what, and several more where any combination of Breakout, weird hook spawns, petrified oak, sabotage, great wiggle skill checks, and even a single swing's worth of bodyblocking will make you unhookable too.

That's an issue with a map, not with the perk.

I understand that people are afraid the perk will be abused, however if that's the case it's going to be easier to see this kind of results on a bigger scale than the PTB.

Again, I'm not saying you are wrong or that it cannot be an issue whatsoever, I'm just trying to see the thought process behind it.

You are completely correct in saying that it’s more the maps fault than it is the fault of the perk. But when we have mechanics in the game that allow people to specifically choose what map they want to go to. Then a problem on one map will affect the entire game.

Not really how that works. They look at the average end result of those add-ons. If all add-ons give a killer a 65% winrate on average, and survivors on average escape 35%, then either the killer or the add-ons are overtuned.

You might be like "but that is using statistics wrong", when, it really isn't. There are only 3 things you can do if the statistics go that way:

    1. Make maps more survivor sided, which will apply to all killers.

    2. Nerf the add-ons or the killer, which are gonna make those killer mains lash out.

    3. Buff survivor basekit, which applies to all killers.

The reverse would apply if the killer would be underperforming.

What would you be in favour of in this scenario? How would you make the overall end results more fair(aka, on average closer to a 50% killrate), without pointing out the obvious? If Nemesis wins about 43% of his games with Shattered STARS badge, but 62% with Marvin's Blood. Why would you not nerf Marvin's Blood? Why would you not buff the STARS badge? "Because it's his only good add-on?" Well, sometimes good things have to be nerfed for the long term health of the game. The kind of backlash that people give on add-ons, is exactly why perks like DH, Ruin, Pop and Circle are left untouched for so long. Even though all these perks force other perks to either join the powercreep, or into obscurity.

Do you want the Devs to nerf survivor meta? Then also be willing for Devs to nerf killer meta.

It’s not just the fact that good addons are being nerfed that’s annoying. I mean yeah that’s part of it, but the issue is the devs don’t try to look any deeper than just statistics. The reason those addons get used so much is not just because they’re strong, it’s because everything else kinda sucks ass. And some minor buffs to contenders for the worst iri’s in the game isn’t enough.

Also if we wanna talk about meta we can’t just gloss over the fact that blights ring didn’t get touched at all.

  • The situations where you could actually escape off of a kobe as the last survivor are so rare and so specific that it’s not worth designing the entire game around it.

  • They could do a sort of positive reputation tier system. Maybe a tier 1-4 type of thing. And maybe the tiers could apply some type of multiplier or bonus to the BP grade reward you get at every reset.

  • The iri addons could be more interesting. But other than that she’s perfect the way she is.

  • Never change you beautiful man.

  • I will say it’s a strange limitation considering everything else he can do while cloaked. If I had to guess I’d assume it’s so the haste buff the pumpkins have a chance to give can’t be too over the top on him.

  • So yeah this NFT stuff. I can barely believe it honestly. Outside of dbd Twitter getting hacked I don’t see any way of them saving face here. This isn’t my first time being disappointed in BHVR but this is probably the last time since if this is real I’m done. Which is a shame too because I really did think this next chapter would be cool. I don’t know if it’s just me but it almost feels personal this time. We’ve known about this for awhile but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and said it was a rumor or a scam. And a few days ago BHVR supposedly addressed our fears and confirmed it was fake. Only to just a few days later basically just say “just kidding lol” I understand not everything makes the cut that you promised and I can deal with bugs. But when you just blatantly lie it feels like a punch to the gut. I’m honestly so disappointed right now. And unless this is confirmed to all be an elaborate scam I’m done for good.

  • This is what we get when we give a corporation the benefit of the doubt.

You can get DLC codes through an NFT partnership, AND the NFT company was provided the keys by the developers, so I agree this might actually get the game banned after all. I don't know how this whole key business works but most likely BHVR didn't have to pay for the keys they gave to the NFT company, which means technically Valve lost out on money that was then indirectly given to an NFT company.

This is certainly an interesting situation. The Steam NFT ban is very recent (I think from last week Friday or so?) but the Dbd NFT deal has been in the works for months (according to the official Dbd Twitter). They almost certainly haven't planned for this or known about the Steam NFT ban in advance but because of contractual obligations they had to go through with the NFT deal anyway.

From what other comments are implying they may have seen something along these lines coming since they are supposedly working with epic now.

  • @Madjura said:

Console players wouldn't be affected by this and I don't think Steam deletes games from accounts, even if the game itself leaves Steam. I have a friend who owns Guild Wars 1 on Steam, which was available there only very briefly. Still in the library, could still be downloaded (probably, I haven't asked him to check that).

So IF Dbd gets kicked off Steam the existing playerbase would remain the same, minus everyone who quit(s) because of NFTs. I don't think the NFT situation in Dbd violates the Steam policy because it's a separate company doing it, but then again this whole situation is pretty unprecedented as far as I can tell (in terms of video games + NFTs, not Dbd specifically) so maaaaaybe Valve will set a precedent here? To stop other companies from bypassing the Steam NFT policy by "outsourcing" the NFT stuff to a separate company.

From what I can tell and like that other comment said it seems like steam doesn’t want to be associated at all. I genuinely think people trying to use a loophole (if that’s what they’re actually doing) will probably get them banned even faster.

  • @DelsKibara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2568751#Comment_2568751

Steam is taking a hard stance on it purely because they don't want to be associated with the idea of NFTs.

Which is curiously, something Epic is taking an opposite stance on. And they seem to be having connections to each other.

Still though. I feel there could be a pretty big loss in players if they move to epic instead of steam.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

They didn't say they were making them. They said they are partnered with a company that does.

That said, wouldn't be surprised if Steam decided to ban DbD anyhow.

Considering how adamant steam seems about that rule. I doubt they’d care at all about a loophole like that and will ban it anyway.

It is a torture thing, very. They are inspired by BDSM clothing and attire, but the cenobites are demons of "pleasure." Pleasure to them though, happen to be flesh ripping torture. It is why all the cenobites have horrific body modifications, they were originally ones wanting the same pleasure and now they give it to others. It is a joke they are BDSM and sexual though, because the torture they do is horrific and not something you'd want to see.

Is the torture a way they get off though? Or is it just what their purpose is now as cenobites. Like are they actively choosing to torture people because they enjoy doing it?

  • what I do like about him is it’s not the same 3 meta perks that are best on him. Franklin’s and hoarder put this guy on a different level and if he’s able to get on a roll with chain hunts it can be brutal. But if you know what you’re doing hes easy to play around so he’s held back a bit.

  • If the killer fully broke the totem when they kicked it. They would be fine, but the fact the perk can just be activated again is a bit too much for me.

I don't care about the key changes, I dodge every lobby that has a key in it. I'm more concerned with Iron Will and Dead Hard being equipped on 3 or 4 survivors in over 95% of my trials

If you expect the devs to actually address meta perks for either side in any capacity past about a month of them being released. I gotta question how long you’ve been playing.

  • @Veinslay said:

I can't believe they did nothing to Iron Will or Dead Hard. I thought they would throw us killer mains a bone, but I guess not. All we get is some useless hex buffs and boon totems to deal with. Great.

Are you trolling or did you not read the whole thing? They just nerfed keys hard. That’s huge.

  • If it happens early in the match I just get really bored and move on to the next one as fast as I can.

the only reason the game has so many pallets is cause the lack of windows.

For me personally it’s not the amount of pallets that I take issue with. Sure they can be annoying but it is what it is. The issue is that roughly 90% of the pallets are god pallets. With the other 10% being so unsafe they are better off not existing. Honestly the most fun chases I have on that map are ironically at the few windows the map does have because those both the killer and survivor can at least outplay each other.

How is it not as strong? Not everyone runs Spine Chill - it’s pretty common but not nearly as much as Iron Will, BT, Dead Hard and DS or Unbreakable. On indoor maps this add-on absolutely wrecks the majority of the playerbase (which are casuals). Remember, you basically get a FREE HIT so the movement speed doesn’t even matter.

What tweaking would you suggest for the other 2?

It’s not as strong because silent bell does not completely invalidate looping. Which every other 4.4 killer does.

For all seeing blood what I would like to see is along with possibly a shrink to ten meters instead of 12. A feature added where every time wraith uncloaks with all seeing blood equipped the addon enters an inert or disabled state. In order to reactivate the addon the player must successfully get a “surprise attack” hit. Until wraith does this the addon will do absolutely nothing for him and increase time spent uncloaking by somewhere between 5-10%. Basically I want good players to still be able to benefit from it but stop someone from cloaking and uncloaking 20 times a chase to crutch on the aura reading. Windstorm I personally think needs no changes.

  • @Rey_512 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2472993#Comment_2472993

There’s “almost” no way to counter Silent Bell on indoor maps (which do exist, in case you forgot). Sure, you can run Spine Chill but even then it’ll be difficult to tell where he’s approaching from. You can hear his snarls, but if he starts uncloaking from around a corner it will also be difficult to hear, especially if you’ve got some progress on the gen.

I don’t think Wraith’s add-ons need a major overhaul, just something subtle such as:

Coxcombed Clapper - Makes bell Silent, BUT reduces base movement speed to 110% (4.4) which also reduces cloaked movement speed by 5%. Why is this a fair nerf? If you’re using Silent Bell then you’re using it to get sneak attacks, not go on long chases. So you’ll get punished for using this add-on the wrong way, but sneak attack playstyle will remain nearly unchanged. Maybe even make Wraith’s snarls/footsteps slightly louder.

All Seeing Blood - Swap this with Wraith current Iri All Seeing, and make it so his speed coming out of cloak is much shorter (so he can’t just anti-mindgame loops with free aura reading).

Windstorm Blood - Reduce the overall effect so he’s not so blazingly fast in cloak (he already got his base cloak speed buff so this add-on doesn’t need to compensate for anything).

A few things, first off while silent bell wraith is strong it’s nowhere near as strong as killers like spirit, hag and huntress. So it’s really hard for me to see how this would be fair. Especially with spine chill hard countering stealth playstyles. Second, I honestly agree all seeing blood needs tweaking but I don’t think that’s the best way to go about it. And lastly his windstorm addons already got nerfed pretty damn hard.

  • Regardless of how you feel about wraith if you’re looking at hillbilly as a standard for addons I really gotta question your judgement

  • I don’t blame streamers for having opinions. They’re people too. The issue is there are many people who will just blindly copy the opinions of their favorite content creators instead of forming their own opinions.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2470256#Comment_2470256

My opinion is that too many people place too much emphasis on the fact that he's an M1 killer. They make it sound as though just because he doesn't have a special attack that can shoot lasers or something he's inherently "weak". I see the same argument used for other killers as well. When was it decided that just because a character doesn't have a long-range instant down power it means that they suck?

Again, I'm not targeting you specifically. These are just arguments I hear from so many people so often. Like the inability to catch up, for example. I've never had trouble catching up with anyone as Wraith, especially since his buff. Take a circular route around the target so they can't see the blur, flank them from about ten feet away, uncloak get the free super lunge hit, then as soon as you're able just cloak again, race right up to them, uncloak, hit them for the down. This has happened literally every time I've ever tried it, though it's certainly worth noting that I don't even like PLAYING as the Wraith. I feel too guilty and I'm sick of the DCs. So I can only rely on my own anecdotal experience.

Honestly, if the speed and / or distance of his post-cloak lunge was reduced, and if his ability to cloak and uncloak silently was removed, I wouldn't have that much of a problem with him. He'd still have his abilities, people just wouldn't be able to exploit them so easily. To me it's obvious that he was given his bell as a tell to let players know when he was uncloaking and thus time to run. Why turn around and remove it? Why also give the guy a massive lunge that can be executed basically the second he phases into view (which also seems faster than it used to be)?

I'm fine with going against just about any killer in this game. I accept my losses and acknowledge my own shortcomings. But when there's a killer who - let's face it, has a very strong chance of doing damage before you even know who you're up against and where they might be - that's just not fun. At all. Wraith may be more "balanced" in terms of what he's like against other killers, or his former self, but he's not balanced in terms of survivor counterplay. That's the problem I have with him.

Silent bell is an entirely different beast than basekit wraith. And I’m not totally against possible changes to it. As for what those changes could be outside of removing it idk. And when it comes to his lunge they could try to see how it feels if instead of the speed of the lunges stacking it just increases the distance. But it would need to be tested before I could say anything for certain. I’m not a person who is like “I will quit this game if they nerf wraith he’s perfect don’t touch him blah blah blah” because I think we both agree wraith can become dull. (Even tho admittedly I main him and love him). Anyway, addons and lunge SPEED could be looked at since I feel some of his addons were only kept in check due to windstorm reliance. But I do still think wraith has a decent enough amount of counterplay if we look at just his basekit.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2470223#Comment_2470223

If you happen to be near one, yes, sometimes. That's just it - I've seen some people say "he's not too bad if you're near windows and loops", and the people who say that in a way that's polite (such as yourself) obviously mean well, but the thing I don't understand is why anyone assumes that the player is always near a good loop or window. If that were the case wouldn't survivors be decimating every killer in this game? There are gens (and totems, and hooks) that are all over the place - in relative dead zones, in corners, etc. - but the argument always boils down to conditional factors that aren't always in the player's control. "Be by windows and loops, always have a flashlight, and always run Spine Chill". People should really have to have a Wraith preparedness kit just to balance out how cheap he is? That tells me that there's a problem with the character's kit.

The way I personally see it is that since wraith has to get 2 hits to down. Even if he ambushed you in a bad spot as long as you don’t get grabbed you should have time to make it to something. And (unless he’s using all seeing blood. Which does need a nerf) once he gets that first hit his power does almost nothing for him besides making him catch up to you faster. While yes there certainly will be some situations where the time it takes for him to catch up and uncloak isn’t enough time for you to make it to anything. It’s usually due to either resources being wasted or extremely bad positioning. And while that does admittedly sometimes feel cheap. When you take into consideration that his weakness turns him into an m1 killer with no power I think it balances things out. Is wraith kinda boring? Yeah. Does he need any changes? Besides all seeing blood, I would say no.

  • @miketheratguy said:

Wraith got buffed a month or so back. He's now incredibly cheap, gets easy hits, suffers no cooldown on any of his powers, and takes almost no skill whatsoever to use. People started figuring that out and now they use and abuse him constantly. Ask a killer main though and you'll hear that it's the survivors' fault, they just need to play better and are salty that they can't "bully him" anymore. "He's fine, he's C-tier".

I’d put wraith in high B tier probably. He still gets absolutely dominated by windows.

  • Spirit bugged to the point of being almost unplayable. Freddy’s crutch slowdown addons removed. A free easy to play killer finally becomes viable. And here we are now.

  • Considering there’s always a chance you’ll be down to two perks 30 seconds into the match I’d say it’s fine.

  • @The_Daydreamer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2414204#Comment_2414204

"He can still be mindgamed at most pallets" I really want to see it that. Explain me which mindgame you can pull if they uncloak up your ass. What option do you have their besides using the palett or getting hit?

Depends on the wraith player honestly. Personally I notice a lot of wraith players I go against respect pallets extremely hard while cloaked since he gets stunned for like 5 seconds if you drop it on him.

  • when it comes to the lunge this is how wraith has always been. The lunge duration was increased to 1.25 due to the fact that they also increased the movement speed penalty while uncloaking. He can still be mindgamed at most pallets and when it comes to the tiny pallets he can super lunge around there’s nothing wrong with wraith being strong at small loops. The only problematic thing about wraith is all seeing blood.

  • Only real issue with trickster right now is those Double purple addons. I’m not sure if the devs have said whether or not they’re meant to synergize like that. But other than that trickster is fine.

  • From what I can tell it’s been around about as long as this game has existed. And like you said the simple reason is people really hate accepting that them losing is their own fault.

  • This is just straight up pre nerf object of obsession that also ignores undetectable. Absolutely a bad idea.

I was about making another thread, but then I found this one, lol.

All dailies can be completed in one single game, but for some reason, the daily from Nemesis takes 4 matches to actually complete it. I don't know what they were thinking when they made this.

It makes me think they created the daily in early design stages. And there may have potentially been a tier 4 at one point that was temporary.

  • @SweetTerror said:

Yeah so many of my games go by without ever getting to maximum mutation rate, even with the add-ons. Nemesis desperately needs a buff. The fact that survivors get a speed boost with mutation which causes no damage is a tad ridiculous, and the fact that it takes so long to get to his maximum power is also nuts.

It’s not even a matter of how strong he is. You could completely dominate the survivors and hit tier 3. And you still have to hit it 3 more times in 3 more games to finish the daily once.

  • @DelsKibara said:

I really wonder what was going through their minds when making the dailies for the licensed killers.

It's either the easiest or most time consuming challenges in the game.

Let's go for a rundown, shall we?

Myers has to tier up 4 times. Makes sense for his power, it means if he wants to get it in one game he needs to get TIer 3 three times. Which isn't that irregular in a normal match with him unless you're using add-ons.

And then there is Bubba, who needs to chainsaw a Survivor 4 times. Which again, makes sense. You would be using his power for the instadowns anyways.

Then we move onto Freddy, which is to achieve the Dream Chaser score 4 times. Basically just hit a survivor in the dream state. So just... Play the game...

But then we move onto Pig... Whose ambush power really isn't that great for the kind of Killer she is. So you have to usually force these hits either at the start of the game or on short loops, which most good survivors would try to dodge away from or mindgame it anyways.

Then Ghostface (originally) had a daily where you have to mark and down a survivor whilst leaning from a wall. Instead of just marking and downing them like it is now. Making it significantly more annoying than it already is.

After that we have Demo, who requires you to hit Survivors 5 times with a fully charged shred attack.

That's fully charged. In maps that sometimes don't even give him the time to do that. Making it tedious.

Then we have Pyramid Head which requires you to cage survivors instead of just hitting them with his special attack. Here's the problem. Anyone who rarely plays Pyramid Head is going to have a hard time getting survivors tormented to begin with. So this could take multiple games to complete.

After that of course, we have Nemesis. Who needs to level up to Tier 3 FOUR TIMES. And unlike Michael, when he is up there, he stays there. For 30k points, this is just something you throw in the trash.

Honestly I feel the nemesis daily is in a league of its own with how poor its design is. Sure some of the others can be a pain and map dependent and somewhat unreasonable but they were all at Least POSSIBLE to do in one game. Meanwhile with nemesis you could be the best or worst nemesis player in the world. And you’d still need to play at least 4 games to complete the daily. It’s ridiculous

  • @M4dBoOmr said:

Hopefully, until then swap it 😉

I swapped it and got a nea daily. Almost uninstalled tbh

I'm too big of a Halloween fan lol I've never been spooked by him, even during my first match. Same with Ghostface.

I get unnerved when I don't hear a terror radius or see anyone get injured, but once I see them, I'm like "oh hey".

    Please teach me your ways.

  • its just how our community is. Devs try to do something actually good and disable the penalty due to crashing. And our community being our community decides to abuse the lack of penalty to the point solo queue was becoming unplayable. And now here we are. To sum it up. This whole situation is why we can’t have nice things here.

Either way the game isn't performing well so the issue is still there regardless of DC bans so banning people isn't a solution to anything.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394396#Comment_2394396

So i should take crap and like it? I'm not justified in DC'ing when clearly the game becomes unplayable? I'm guessing you probably would play Cyberpunk at launch, or AC Unity, or insert whatever disastrous game... And i'm having issues across 2 platforms so clearly the problem isn't on me DC'ing because i can't play, clearly the problem is the game. If the game was alright i wouldn't be DC'ing. DC bans won't stop me from DC'ing whenever i have justification for it, what DC bans will do is make not play for longer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394416#Comment_2394416

What event? It was a Log In bonus and compensation for catastrophic chapter launch, there was no event, it was copy paste. They deliberatly lied about putting more focus on the big events, we have the proof to this right in front of us. Survivors weren't getting enough cake's compared to killers, not that it mattered much since game performance has been at an all time low, so the chances of cakes being wasted are absurdly high anyway... What nice thing has come out of the event?

I agree banning people isn’t a solution, it’s what dbd does best a bandaid fix. Sure it won’t be fixing the bugs but what it will do is discourage people from dcing constantly over minor inconveniences. And to answer the other things you were saying. I’m not sure what you mean by “justified” if we’re talking like 1000+ ping matches you will probably dc even if you don’t want to. But if it’s just you dcing because you don’t like the killer or the perks they’re running or the map or how fast survivors are doing gens or how fast your totems get cleansed . Nah that’s not justifiable at all. And while you’re right it won’t stop you from dcing it will mean that many less matches that those people who rage quit over everything can ruin. And lastly by event I think they mean the 2x blood point event going on right now.

  • I feel like it’s become a situation of “this is why we can’t have nice things.” It was turned off to make the game more bearable for console players who were crashing constantly. And then people decided to abuse it and DC over anything happening that they don’t like. So here we are now

  • I’d assume it’s some sort of petty justification in people’s mind where they think if the killer doesn’t kill them then they didn’t lose. Idk, don’t think I’ll ever really get it either.

1 2 3 4 5 … 9
