The mask used in the first two movies was the Shatner mask, yes. They bought it for cheap at a costume shop, and modified it as seen onscreen. By the time of Halloween 2, the mask had yellowed after years of storage under co-creator Debra Hill's bed, but it is indeed the same mask used in the original. Canonically, this mask burns up with Michael at the end of Halloween 2.
In Halloween 4, we see a newly ambulatory Myers grab a mask off a display at a drugstore. Common sentiment is that this mask is meant, in-universe, to be a cheap knockoff, and it definitely looks the part. It does not remotely resemble the Shatner mask except in the most general of details.
Halloween 5 used an entirely different sculpt. I know the Halloween 4 mask did not fit Halloween 5 actor Donald P. Shanks' head, so they had a new mask made, and it looks awful. Canonically, this would be the same mask that was worn in Halloween 4, but they look nothing alike.
There's no "mask continuity" in terms of Halloween 6; Michael just shows up wearing a mask, which looks quite a lot better than the last two masks. Canonically, we might assume this is still the Halloween 4 mask.
Halloween H20 and Resurrection ignore all sequels past Halloween 2, and Michael again shows up in a new mask (a couple of different ones in various scenes, incidentally -- and a totally different and ugly one in Resurrection). We can assume he acquired a new mask after the original one burned in Halloween 2.
The Rob Zombie mask was a sculpt that I believe was based on the original Shatner mask (my knowledge here is hazy because I actively avoid those two trash movies), but it is again different and distinct.
The mask used in Halloween 2018 is a painstakingly recreated version of the Shatner mask, made to look dirty, aged, and weathered. Canonically, it is supposed to be the original mask from Halloween 1978 (this movie ignores all sequels), and it retains the damage done to it at that movie's climax.
So, canonically, yes, Myers wore different masks, with obviously different sculpts. One assumes that these masks could be represented as different cosmetic outfits in DBD, barring whatever licensing restrictions Behaviour must abide by.
As a huge Halloween fan myself, I appreciate you taking the time to type all that out :)

I'm a killer main, occasionally tossing it up between Michael Myers and Ghostface. Occasionally however, I'll play a game or 2 of survivor just to mix things up.

If the cosmetic is based on the brief scene in Halloween 1978 where he escapes the Smith's Grove sanitarium and steals the station wagon, then technically he shouldn't have a mask at all, as he hadn't stolen one yet. However, if it's based on the gown he wore at the beginning of Halloween 4, then he should be wearing the bandages over his head. Assuming that the DBD Halloween chapter was based on the 1978 film, and Laurie's leaked cosmetic is also from the '78 film, I think it's safe to assume this gown is indeed from the beginning of that film as well. My guess on why he has the same mask is maybe because they thought people who haven't seen the films wouldn't know it was supposed to be Michael Myers. Still, if in the future they can ever get the rights to do so, I'd love to see the other film versions of Michael, especially Halloween 4.

I chose mine because I am a life long fan of the Halloween films, particularly the 1978 film, and a huge fan of Michael Myers. As a result, the Halloween chapter for DBD is why I'm here in the first place, let alone why I chose Michael Myers for my avatar.

I'm most excited for the classic Ghostface robe, but I'm also happy to see they're adding Laurie's sweater/skirt outfit from Halloween 1978 😊

True, but then again, they're nearly identical overall, and most people aren't looking for such small detail differences.

I have to disagree about the maps. In my opinion, it makes perfect sense for a licensed chapter to include an iconic location from the film it is based on. To not do so would seem like a major missed opportunity.

In some ways, I do agree to an extent. The more flashy, colorful, over the top skins you put out, the less dark, gritty, and scary the game becomes. Sadly, this sort of thing happened to the F13 game as well when they put in the Halloween skins and especially the dance emotes 🙄 I'm hoping Dead by daylight doesn't suffer the same fate.

The leaked Ghostface outfit is NOT the robe from the Scream films, but is actually the Funworld Ghostface costume you can buy in stores. Though they look nearly identical, they are actually a bit different. Apparently, at some point after the first Scream film released, Funworld designed their own version of the film's robe. Anyway, the point is, since they're using the Funworld costume, they still don't have the Scream rights, so no Sidney I'm afraid. I'm perfectly ok with this though, I always kind of preferred the Funworld costume over the film robe anyway. It's nearly identical, so it's just great to finally have a classic Ghostface cosmetic.

Couldn't agree more, so happy to see Laurie getting her sweater/skirt outfit from Halloween 1978, and I'm REALLY excited for the classic Ghostface robe 😀 I just wonder when they'll be released. The month of October seems very fitting.

In a video I saw on YouTube by Yerv about the leaked skins, he said that the licensed skins would likely go straight to the shop. By the way, I've been away from the game for a while, so I'm not up to speed with this new "battle pass". I know it's supposed to only contain skins, but can someone please explain how it works in terms of how the skins are released to the shop vs the battle pass?

All I can say is I'm floored...these leaks made my day 😀 As a huge Hallowen fan, I'm so happy to see they added Laurie's sweater/skirt outfit from the 1978 film, but I'm REALLY excited for the Ghostface classic robe 😍 I always had a feeling it would be possible to add it because Funworld's Ghostface costume you can buy in stores is actually a bit different than the robe used in the Scream films. In some ways, I actually prefer it to the one used in the films, mainly because of the belt, but that's just me. Anyway, does anyone have any idea when these could be released? October would obviously be the perfect time.

Yeah we have Little Ceasar's, Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's. Also, I've heard NY style pizza is really good, but I've never tried it.

Yeah, we haven't really had many locally owned pizza places where I am, but within the past couple years, 2 or 3 have come along. I've tried one of them, which was pretty good, but I still need to try the others.

Yeah, there's really no bad pizza, just varying degrees of good. Also maybe I just got unlucky but the last stuffed crust I got from Pizza Hut, the cheese inside was still half frozen, honestly impressive how they manged to cook the actual slices but not the crust.
Yeah, that can happen. I guess it just depends on the location, or people cooking that day.

Yeah, I mean, I like all of them because pizza's pizza, right? But, my second favorite is Pizza Hut. It's been a while since I had one of their pizzas, but I always loved their pan crust. So buttery, and great sauce and toppings, from what I remember.

Probably because new survivors are really just skins, whereas new killers are unique and different, with their own power and abilities. Also, the Halloween dlc trailer showed both Laurie and Michael.

Yeah it's really good. Papa John's is my favorite Pizza place for sure. Between Little Casear's, Domino's, and Pizza Hut, Papa John's is easily the best, in my opinion. Their pizza just tastes so fresh and homemade. They even give you a green pepper with every pizza.

No, but if I get Papa John's, I always dip it in the garlic butter sauce they give you. And if it's Pizza Hut, I sprinkle on those packets of parmesan cheese they have.

My main is Myers, but I don't mind mixing it up with Ghostface. It's funny, because I always wanted a game like this where I could play as Michael Myers, being such a huge fan of the character and films for so many years, then they added him, much to my delight, so I had to get the game. It wasn't long after that I thought of my second favorite film killer Ghostface, and how awesome it would be if they added him too. Now, we have him...I never thought it would happen...to have my 2 all time favorite movie killers in the same game. Unbelievable :)

I thinks he's pretty solid. Not weak, but not too powerful either. In my experience with him, you can definitely get 4 kills. I think his leaning and crouching abilities are unnecessary. His power is pretty good, IF you don't get spotted. Cool cosmetics, especially the devil outfit. Not bad for 5 bucks, especially if you're a Scream/Ghostface fan like I am.

Yeah, I don't understand what everyone's problem is with NOED. It's a perk that has no effect whatsoever until the very end of the game, and even then, can still be disabled by taking out totems. You have a chance to escape, so do it (often easier said than done, I understand). If anything, NOED, in addition to the end game collapse, should serve as an extra incentive to escape, instead of just hanging around for whatever reason. I feel like sometimes, people just like to complain to be complaining.

Well, Funworld does make the Scary Movie mask, but not sure about film rights though. I like it, but feel it would be too silly for DBD, to be honest.

As a Myers main, and HUGE fan of the series, particularly the 1978 original, I LOVE when I have an obsession, stalk and kill everyone else first, then find and chase after the obsession last. With the "Shape Stalks" from the 1978 soundtrack playing, it's just like how Michael operates in that film, as he goes after Laurie last. It always makes me think of this scene, ESPECIALLY if it's on the Haddonfield map...

Just because you can't see it during gameplay doesn't make it pointless. The survivors can see it, plus you can see it in the lobby and after round tally screens. Also, just knowing that your killer is wearing an outfit that you really like a lot just makes you feel cooler, more intimidating/scary, etc. It's a lot like actual clothes in real life. When you wear really nice clothes that fit you well, and that you like, you feel great/confident. Same thing here in DBD.

No, it is not bad that you are a Legion main. Legion gets a lot of flak, but that's no reason to not play as him. Never listen to the toxic messages you receive telling you how to play the game, or how bad they think you are. It's all worthless noise, so just ignore them. You're playing this game to have a little fun, I assume, so you should play as any killer you want, no matter what the community thinks of them. Don't comply to their toxic demands.
