Awesome! So glad to see Laurie getting her sweater/skirt outfit from the 1978 film. Michael's patient outfit...not so much, to be honest. I'm REALLY looking forward to the classic Ghostface robe, I'll definitely be buying that ๐
-
I am a killer main, and I am certainly not "entitled". But if I had to take a guess as to why so many supposedly are, I would say it's because of this...if you're playing as a brutal killer, you sort of have some expectations that you will be a force to be reckoned with, so you get amped up, but when you have a group of really competent survivors, it's easy to get frustrated.
-
I would bring back the darker, more atmospheric lighting the game used to have. The game desperately needs it.
-
Beautifully put. They NAILED his character from the 1978 film. People may complain about Myers being a slow killer, but that's what makes him so creepy. He is methodical, just waiting...for that "secret, silent alarm..to trigger him off", as Dr. Loomis says in the film. And when he comes, he is an unstoppable force of nature, as John Carpenter put it. "Evil on 2 legs" indeed.
-
Not sure just yet, but most likely I'll dress up as part 6 Jason Voorhees and hand out candy to any trick or treaters that happen to show up. Other wise, I'll definitely be watching the Halloween films marathon on AMC.
-
The one thing I love about DBD above all else is the fact that we have all these iconic movie killers added to the game like Michael Myers, Freddy, Ghostface, and Leatherface. As a horror fan, it's so awesome to actually have a game where you can play as and against these horror icons. I can't wait to see which ones they add in the future (hopefully).
-
Ghostface would probably be an easier costume, but Pyramid Head is certainly unique too.
-
My main is Myers, but I do switch to Ghostface from time to time. It just depends on which I'm in the mood for, but Myers and Ghostface are my "mains" I guess you could say. They're my 2 favorite movie killers so they should be ๐

Part 6 Jason Voorhees.

I won't be seeing it. I've always been a big Star Wars fan...grew up with the older movies, collected the figures, lightsabers and vehicles, played the games, etc. but I just can't stand these new Disney 'Star Wars' films. In fact, I never went to see Force Awakens, or Last Jedi (thankfully), Solo, or even Rogue Squadron. Sure, I've seen the reviews, and watched the trailers and a few clips, but that's all I need to see of them. As far as I'm concerned, their not even Star Wars films.
They're just typical modern day sci-fi action movies with Star Wars slapped on them. The reason is simple...the story of Star Wars has already been told. It's the story of Darth Vader. It began in 1977 with A New Hope, and ended in 2005 with Revenge Of The Sith. There is nothing before or after that to be told, because simply put, that is the whole story. Even George Lucas, the man who created Star Wars feels this way, discrediting anything that is created outside those original 6 films, and I agree with him. Any other movie that comes along is just making stuff up to make a quick buck, but not from me. I know this may come off as sounding super hardcore Star Wars nerdy, but that is how I've felt since Force Awakens was announced.
I completely understand why people say they won't be seeing Rise Of Skywalker after the huge let down that was Last Jedi. It's always happened over the course of film history. When ever a franchise puts out a really bad film, people are very unlikely to go watch the next one, even if it's a significantly better film. Same situation here, and I'm not surprised. For what it's worth though, I do think Rise Of Skywalker will be at least a little better than Last Jedi, I mean it has to be right?

I wouldn't say they terrify me, but pretty much any insect just gives me the willies :p

I created a build for him that is inspired by Ghostface's portrayal in the Scream films...

Fully agree on bringing back the darker lighting. This game needs that dark atmosphere again BADLY. I'm so over the bright cartoonish look of everything now.
-
I agree that passion is very likely part of it, but also I believe some people just want attention, hence why we constantly see "goodbye, I'm quitting DBD" threads.
-
To be fair, killers do receive a "quitter bonus" points after the round, so we're not entirely punished.
-

Because the killer was playing in an unfun manner to which the survivor's only option was to leave the match in distress.
๐
Obviously that is not always the case. More accurate is the fact that trolls can't stand being defeated by a great killer...their ego's too big.
-
I think you pretty much summed it up.
-
Well, I guess we finally know what really kills him ๐ but in all seriousness though, this really needs to be fixed, asap.
-
The Legion for sure. I just love the urban look of the character with the hoodie, pants and tactical knife. I also like the fact that they run. But what really seals the deal for me is the fact that Legion is clearly inspired by Ghostface/Scream. In one of the artworks, it says 1996, if I recall correctly, the year the first Scream film released.
The hoodie pulled over the white mask with big eyes and mouth and the knife say it all, especially the skin with the skull mask. Not to mention the running pose is straight out of the Scream films. Now to be fair, I have not played as Legion, partly due to the constant complaints people give him and partly because we now have Ghostface, but regardless, I would definitely say Legion is my favorite of the original killers, at least in terms of concept.

Bcaeuse some survivors like to straight up bully inexperienced players?
Tbag call them trash say they are baby killers etc
Pretty much this. They like to have an easy game to get those points, and troll the killer because they know they can get away with it. Pretty sad.

So the halloween event starts after halloween?
That is not confirmed as far as I know. Pure speculation.
-
No one's for sure at the moment. It was supposed to release yesterday, but was delayed at the last minute for some mysterious reason. I would expect it to release within the next week, certainly by Halloween.
-
No I don't, but I will say that for some reason in my experience, it seems like every time there's a Claudette, they have a med kit. Which isn't a big deal to me, just something I've noticed. Of course, sometimes, there are certain survivor skins that just make me want to roll my eyes, but it certainly doesn't make me want to "dodge the lobby". Rather, it only makes me want to kill them more ๐

Everything is tied together, so everything is pushed back.
I see, that's unfortunate ๐

So is there still an update tomorrow, just no rift/archive content?

As obnoxious and childish as it is, I don't believe tea bagging should be "bannable". That's an extreme punishment for such a small act of foolishness.

I've always been a fan of horror. I grew up watching films like Halloween, F13, and Scream. So, back in 2016 when it was announced that this little game I've never heard of called Dead By Daylight was adding my favorite horror killer Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, and a Haddonfield map all based on the classic 1978 Halloween film, I was instantly hooked. Thing was, DBD was only on PC at the time, so I had to sit on the sidelines, just hoping and praying it would someday come to consoles. 1 year later, it did, so needless to say, I got it.
I've been playing ever since. Before DBD, I played the F13 game, which I still do. What keeps me coming back is the dark atmosphere, and constant horror icons being added. My second favorite horror icon is Ghostface, so you can imagine my excitement when he was leaked earlier this year, and released soon after. Just the thought of there even being a game like this where you can play as and against these horror icons with real people online blew me away, like it was too good to be true. It was something I only dreamed of for years. I very much look forward to seeing who they add next in the future.
-
Michael Myers is my main, being the whole reason I got the game. I also like to play as Ghostface, being my second favorite horror movie killer just behind Myers.
-
When I first started playing, I would camp hooked survivors and hit them repeatedly. I'm embarrassed to admit that now, but I have long since learned better :)
-
Preach the truth, OP! I wholeheartedly agree 110% It seems like everyday, this forum is flooded with at least a dozen posts needlessly complaining about something, the vast majority of which, doesn't even matter in a general play session. I'll never understand why some people take such things so seriously. ๐
-
Yeah I'm VERY excited for the classic Ghostface robe ๐
-
Never. It's very childish.

That's not the classic robe from the movies for ghostface. Its just a version funworld owns and is similar/close to it
Correct, I was just referring to it as "classic robe" because that's essentially what it is for all intents and purposes, despite the fact it's not the movie robe but rather the Funworld costume.

Did they give a reason on why she wasnโt with ghost face cause it still seems weird to me and I was hoping weโd get her
As far as I know, the Ghostface rights are separate from the Scream rights, so they contacted Funworld to get the Gostface rights instead, choosing to create their own Ghostface killer/story, which if you think about it is very much in line with the Scream films, because it's a different person under the mask in each film. Heck, it even takes place in the 90's. You can tell they were heavily inspired by the Scream films though. Things like the blade wipe, the hooded robe with flowing ribbons, the Buck 120 knife, and even the mori is surprisingly similar to when GF gets on top of Sidney in the first film. I REALLY wish they could have gotten the rights to do a full on Scream chapter with a Woodsboro map and Sidney, but hey, at least we have Ghostface at all, and are finally getting his classic robe soon.
-
In my opinion, yes, especially if you're a Ghostface/Scream fan like myself.
-
I know they don't have the rights to do it, but I'd love to see Sidney Prescott from the Scream films added. Now that we're getting a classic Ghostface robe, adding Sidney would be perfect.
-
For me, as a killer main, it's when you start a game, and at least 2 gens are repaired at the same time before you even find the first survivor to go after, and you realize you're dealing with a strong group who knows how to get stuff done quickly, who then proceed to all escape, and teabag you at the gate just to rub it in.
-
Wait, I thought stealth killers were getting buffed so that detection perks had no effect on them, or something along those lines? I've been out of the loop, please forgive my ignorance.
-
My killer main is Myers, which I love playing as, but I like to occasionally mix things up with Ghostface.
-
Myers main here. Being a huge fan of the character and films, I created a build for him that is accurate to his portrayal in the 1978 Halloween film...

Myers. I bought the game due to Myers. I saw the original Halloween in theaters with my parents when I was around 5 years old, and it started my life-long fandom of the Slasher genre.
That's awesome man! That must have been quite an experience!
-
My killer main is Michael Myers simply because I have always been a huge fan of the character and films...it's the whole reason why I got the game. My survivor main is Ace because I like his tuxedo and panama hat. I just think he's a pretty cool guy with some class and style :)

Probably a result of fight or flight while intoxicated and panicked? Or she thought she was small enough to fit and he would be the one trapped in the garage unable to kill while she lets everybody know a killer was in the house. Ultimately though Iโm pretty sure the big breasted girl joke Sydney told earlier was a kind of foreshadow and that was just one of those moments Scream reveals itself to be both horror and satire simultaneously.
You're probably right about the fight or flight, that was my thought after replying. Also, I never even thought about Sidney's joke possibly being linked to Tatum's death! Scream was very clever indeed, and I love it all the more for it :)
-
I have to say it's a tossup between Hag, Spirit, and Nurse for me. Something about the creepy, unnatural poses and looks of Spirit and Hag, and the eerie floating and painful moans of Nurse. And of course Michael Myers is darn creepy with his practically nonexistent terror radius while stalking you from a distance, even when you don't even know it.

Donโt diss Tatum like that.
A) Pretty sure she was drunk
B) He just slit her arm
C) It was already previously established the door was locked, which led her to opening the garage door in the first place and then thinking he was a prankster when he stopped it.
D) After throwing the bottles, she ducks his rush and his body flings over her, BLOCKING THE DOOR. The doggy door was the only escape.
E) Tatum tried her best in an intense situation and already at a disadvantage. The real question you must ask yourself is WHY DIDNโT THE GARAGE DOOR DETECT HUMAN MOVEMENT.
All this is true, BUT why didn't she press the button to open the garage door again, WHILE Ghostface was down?

It's good to have it, but people really need to pull their heads out of their butts thinking it's related to Scream.
Well...technically, it is very much related to Scream. After the first Scream film released, Funworld designed a slightly different version of the film's robe for their costume. The differences are so minor, however, that the average person isn't going to notice them. Also, the Funworld Ghostface costumes have always had the official Scream logo on the packaging.
