I read every Lovecraft Mythos stories. My issue with adding any creature is that they aren't killers they are monsters. And many of them are more powerful than DBD's Entity.
Someone mentioned the Creature from the Black Lagoon, andmaybe a Shadow Over Innsmouth type of killer could work.
Maybe Lovecraftian-inspired could be the way. Someone that served the entity in life. Could even be tied to Vigo or another character already in the lore.
Pennywise is too powerful to be caught by the entity, right? I don't know maybe.
But I am glad to see your opinions. I thought Chucky would be silly but you guys shed some light on him. Could work. :)
It's interesting, but I believe the world of DBD, and the Entity itself are very much in line with Lovecraft's style of cosmic horror.

I hope so, just to simply make up for the major disappointment that was this "Halloween event". Instead of just doing the bare minimum, why not fill the lobby with snow and decorations, add Christmassy sounding music, decorate the maps, and of course give us Winter/Christmas cosmetics? Not to sound entitled, but is that too much to ask, especially since they've done it before? I'd like to think not because I feel like the reason the Halloween event was so lackluster is because they were more focused on the rift/archives. Now that those are in the game, I think it's safe to say they are more freed up to give us a proper "event" this time. Here's hoping, fingers crossed.

Cthulhu can be whatever Cthulhu wants to be but yes, most of the time he's giant. Oh, plus there's that whole old one aspect. Sorry if this comes off as rude, wasn't my intention.
No no, not rude at all. Admittedly I have not read any of Lovecraft's books, but I am familiar with his work. From the outside looking in so to speak, I was just assuming Cthulhu was a giant creature, purely based on everything I've seen of him.

Players of his breed cannot be understood...

No.
Look, nobody enjoys losing, I get it. But keys being able to open the hatch is already a highly contentious issue. Adding the ability for survivors to do that WITHOUT a key will just break this game, and send killer frustration through the roof. As it stands, whether gates spawn close or far apart, that’s still TWO areas a killer has to worry about moving back and forth between.
What you’re suggesting would make endgame or EGC entirely pointless for killers. Slugging and mori instances would increase tenfold to avoid this, or thee would just be a drop off in people playing killer, meaning longer lobby search times for survivors.
If you’re the last alive it’s MEANT to be that the odds are stacked against you. Either you’re fortunate enough to reach the hatch before the killer, or you’re not.
THIS.

i would like to see Cthulhu but it's probably impossible that devs will add him in the game
But isn't Cthulhu a GIANT creature?

When you put people on opposing sides in literally ANYTHING, whether it be sports, politics, let alone multiplayer games like this, people are no doubt going to trash talk the opposing side, even if it's totally unjustified. I believe it all comes down to ego...you just have to feel like you're better than them, or you feel defeated. I'll take it even deeper...I believe it's safe to say that most (but not all) players in any game such as this are 30 or younger, give or take. That is when one's ego is for whatever reason absolutely monumental. Combine that with how overly sensitive people are about everything (even things that don't matter) these days, I think you start to get the picture.
-
Yes, as a killer main, I find teabaggers amusing more than anything. It's so childish.
-
I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed there. I understand wanting to keep the forums neat and tidy with different categories, but some things can go into more than just 1 category.
-
There's rumors of a killer from The Shining or maybe Pinhead being added. I'd like to see the old Universal movie monsters like Wolfman or creature of the Black Lagoon added.
-
I'm a Myers main, and even I'd say that could be a double edged sword. I do get what you're saying though. Tier 3 is meant to be very powerful, which is why it only lasts 60 seconds by default (unless you use certain add ons), and also why you can only get to tier 3 a certain number of times per game. However, on the other side of the coin, after 60 seconds, he does go back to tier 2, so that could help balance it out. But yeah, that's a tricky one for sure.
-
The dark fog idea sounds pretty interesting to me. I think it would add some much needed atmosphere to the game as well.
-
Apparently, the hooks were inspired by a scene in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre where Leatherface hangs a girl on a meat hook. In terms of lore however, I have no idea, but I believe ImmersedNurse might be onto something.
-
The original Halloween from 1978, it's a yearly watch for me along with Halloween 4, wouldn't be Halloween without them. Other good horror films I watched are Friday the 13th part 2, part 3, part 4, and part 6. Also Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 3.
-
Pretty much anywhere that isn't home. Relatives' houses, hotels. It's hard to be perfectly comfortable in a bed that isn't your own, let alone get a good night's sleep in.
-
Campers used to be annoying before the end game was added, as you would have to search the entire map to find them, which could go on for ages. Tunnelers can be annoying too. Disconnectors are probably the worst. At least you get "quitter bonus" points from it though.
-
I don't understand why anyone would value one over the other, as they both serve completely different purposes. Brutal Strength increases the speed that you destroy pallets. Enduring decreases the time you are stunned. In fact, for this reason, they are best used together, as they will serve to make you an unstoppable killer.
-
Here are a couple of builds I created for Ghostface and Michael Myers, my go to killers. Both builds are accurate to their respective films, and how they are portrayed in those films...
Ghostface: Monitor And Abuse, NOED, Unrelenting, Enduring
Myers: Monitor And Abuse, Brutal Strength, Enduring, Save The Best For Last
-
Agreed, I love that they added that outfit from the 1978 film for Laurie. That's easily the highlight of this latest update for me.
-
As a Myers main, and huge fan of the Halloween films, I'd love to see them add the various film versions of Myers to the game. Just the matter of getting the rights to do it.
-
YES! I would love to see some DBD figures. The more merch, the better as far as I'm concerned :)
-
I think it'd be interesting to see the old Universal movie monsters added, like the Wolfman, and Creature of the Black Lagoon. I feel like they would be a pretty good fit for the game.

I thought the outfit was from the 2018 movie
No, it's from the original 1978 Halloween film when she's walking to school in the morning, and then later when she's walking home with her friends...

no we just need to ask papa entity to mind control him and make him become daddy <3
No thank you, I'm good :)

I like both, but Ghostface wins out for me. I was considering getting Legion a while back (held off due to the backlash and complaints) because I liked the concept of an urban killer. I liked the look of Legion, and the fact that it was clearly inspired by Scream/Ghostface nearly sealed the deal for me... but then Ghostface got leaked, and he won me over instantly by a landslide as I always loved the character and wanted him added. So Ghostface it is :)

so you don't like it daddy?
Nope :p

I'm a killer main, though I do like to occasionally mix it up with a game or 2 of survivor every now and then, I just have to be in the mood for it. The reason I'm a killer main? I've always been a big fan of horror and all these horror icons the game has added over time, namely Myers, the whole reason I got the game in the first place. I think another part of it is when I was a kid, I loved to dress up as these movie killers around Halloween time, and chase my friend around 😄
-
"Daddy"? Get some help, friend. I just don't understand this bizarre community sometimes...🙄
-
I don't think it is. Why would you want to lose all those days and hours of grinding just to get a simple bloody skin? Unless of course it means that much to you.
-
Monitor And Abuse
Enduring
Unrelenting
NOED
It's a build I created based on his portrayal in the Scream films.
-
😄 I love that, made my day. Freddy getting deep :p

She has the best mori, and I do think Hag can have a creepy factor. I get jump scared with her traps more times than I would expect. But I just think her walk and demeanor is just kind of adorable. Like she’s just having a good time.
To me, Ghostface is the creepiest but he too can be funny, especially nice ones - but Clowns for sure give me the willies. Nothing appealing about Clown.
Yeah, I see what you're saying. I totally get interpreting something that isn't meant to be funny/humorous as such. Also, yes I can't believe I forgot to mention Hag's jump scare traps, VERY effective.
-
Wow, I can totally see that being possible. But here's another thing...as far as I know, when one dies and is sent to a "purgatory", it is because they have either done something really bad/wrong in their lives, or they have some sort of unfinished business in life such as making up for their sins. Basically, they are being punished. If it is indeed true that the survivors' nightmare of evading brutal killers and the entity by repairing generators is never ending, then that is most definitely a sort of "purgatory".
-
I don't mind the hair, but I'm glad she finally got that outfit from the 1978 Halloween film. Very cool to see in game, being such a huge fan of the film. They nailed it.
-
Not at all. I actually consider her to be one of the creepiest killers in the game. Something about her stance, the way she walks, the way she looks and sounds, and most importantly, her mori. She literally rips the survivor's insides out and eats them. No offense, but anyone who finds that "adorable" has a screw loose.
-
Any perk that I have no intention of using on that character.

ah yes, good catch! And he did have pants so the only time I believe he was shown in a gown is the beginning of the original. I think he was in something similar in the Rob Zombie remake too (similar to the 2018).
Yeah, the gown was just an odd choice, especially when they then have to address the issue of what he has under it.
It just seems off, then doubly so when he is in the gown with his mask. Every movie he gets some.clothes before he gets the mask.
He wore a very similar gown at the beginning of Halloween 4 as well.
-
I have to agree.

@Mushwin said:
In Halloween 4 he did wear some sketchy outfit which looks like a gown, but he did not wear the mask with the hosital gown, maybe this would of been better?
I would have been ok with that. It looks better with the bandages than his actual mask, plus it makes more sense, as he wouldn't have stolen a mask yet anyway. I'm guessing the main reason they didn't do it was because some people wouldn't recognize it was Myers. The other reason may be because the Halloween chapter is based on the 1978 film, so I'm not sure if they could manage to get the rights to the other films, but hopefully they can. I'd love to see various film versions of Myers added, especially a proper Halloween 4 Myers in coveralls and mask. Speaking of gowns, if they could get the rights to do it, why not add Laurie's hospital gown from Halloween 2 (1981)?
-
It's based on the patient gown he wore at Smith's Grove sanitarium when he escaped and stole the station wagon at the beginning of Halloween 1978, as briefly seen as it was. It's also very similar to the patient gown he wore at the beginning of Halloween 4 after he escaped the ambulance and stole his coveralls at the gas station. Either way, as a lifelong fan of the character and films, I have to say I wish they didn't add it to the game...it's just not a good look for him, and perhaps worst of all, only adds fuel to these ridiculous "daddy Myers", "shirtless Myers", "pantless Myers" shenanigans that mock the character. Whether Myers wore it or not, it was only for a very brief time, and we all know he wouldn't stay in that thing, as he always makes sure to steal some coveralls somewhere. Although I guess you could say him wearing it in the game takes place before he stole some coveralls, if you wanted to get technical.
-
That's cool!

Halloween should be the biggest annual event for this game and it's so disappointing. They need to do holiday overlays for the maps. I don't expect every map, but there should be one map each Halloween updated with a visual overlay. Add some jack-o'-lanterns, spooky music, maybe abandon trick or treat bags and other Halloween themed visuals. It's very disappointing.
This, completely agree. They dropped the ball on the "Halloween event" this year, if you can even call it that. If you're not going to give the game a temporary make over for the holiday your "event" is based around, then why even bother? It's like when people just do the absolute bare minimum decorating for Halloween. They just put a single pumpkin on their door step and say "alright, I'm finished decorating for Halloween". 🙄
-
I would like to imagine that if enough people complain about this, then sooner or later they will address it. Based on the numerous threads complaining about the changes just today alone, it's pretty clear that a lot of people are upset and don't like the changes. So, here's what I think they should do... either leave the 0 terror radius and no red stain changes in place, but make it so absolutely, positively no perk can detect him in any way whatsoever (at least in tier 1)...or just simply revert Michael back to how he was.
-
Michael Myers for sure. It'd be nice to see them add the various film versions of him. I'm just not sure they can because the Halloween chapter is based on the 1978 film. Also, there are a few more masks they could add for Ghostface like the neon green, orange, and pink Ghostface masks. Aside from that, I'd love to see them add a classic Freddy skin based on the original 80's Elm Street films. Of course, they probably can't, or they would have used that version for the actual chapter. Can always hope!
-
It's coming, probably in a couple weeks. The leaked release date for it was November 13, though I'm not sure it still stands due to the update being delayed.

as did I, ahaha
Yes I'd love to see them add the various film versions of Michael, specifically Halloween 4. Not sure it will happen though because the Halloween chapter is based on the 1978 film, but who knows?
-
Agreed, I love that they added the sweater skirt outfit from the 1978 film. Really looking forward to that classic Ghostface robe though!
-
I'm a killer main, but I do like to occasionally mix it up with survivor if I'm in the mood.

Please don't take this the wrong way, as I am just as grateful and thankful as everyone else is, but I just can't help but find sort of funny how every time one of these things gets delayed, or some community wide issue comes up, everyone is up in arms screaming all over the forums complaining, hating on the developers...then one day, they finally announce the issue is fixed, and the content is coming, then everyone just suddenly changes their tune and starts thanking them like nothing was ever wrong. It seems like a vicious, predictable cycle at this point. Again, please do not misunderstand me here, this is just an observation I've had over the past few months. I think the lesson at the end of the day is...be patient. It's not the end of the world, the issue will be resolved, and the content will come. With all that said, thank you very much developers for all your hard work!
