    Having a good match.

Exactly. If I escape but I have done nothing during the whole match, it's not a win.

If I get killed but I have repaired generators, unhooked and healed teammates, taken protection hits, been chased, cleansed totems... If I had enough time to get involved as much as possible, it's a win for me. Better if I helped someone to escape. Well, I like to escape too, but it's kind of a bonus to me.

  • I love the game how it is. But for a new mode, I'd like it.

Having the choice between the current gameplay and what you suggest would be better in my opinion than replacing the actual mode we have. We could choose what mode to play.

Instead of hooks, the Killer could kill you instantly. You are harder to find, it seems fair to me. As a Survivor main, I would love the "stress" of being found from this mode.

Also, being hooked when you're solo, if no one knows, it's pretty much over. That's why I think "be killed instantly" could be a better option. Discovering your teammates are all dead... Creepy!

But for the idea of not knowing who's in the lobby... It has its place into the actual gameplay. I like the idea, but as a solo Survivor, I prefer to avoid key users. Last time I had one, it was a 3 man squad who escaped when they knew I was keeping the Killer busy. You guess the end of the story.

  • I don't play Killer outside of challenges, but I'm gonna learn the role later.

Oni, I love him so much. He's my main.

  • Claudette. But I'm a Survivor main, so "playing with" is more accurate.

They often self-care to a pallet I need to play with for my chase. I noticed them too late and I feel I lead the Killer to them.

Please, stop healing under a window or a pallet. Your teammates need them for a better purpose.

Also, I do agree with the hate for Neon Nea. They often are toxic with the Killer in my matches... (I use the cat-skate outfit myself, I hope Killers don't think I'm gonna be toxic.)

My build is almost always Spine Chill, Kindred, Dead Hard and a perk of choice (Resilience, Iron Will, Fixated, Small Game, ...). Guess I'm part of the 10%?

    I love Fixated.

I already miss it. I spent 15 minutes waiting to play a game this evening only to get slaughtered in less than 5 minutes by a rank 1 killer with over 1800 hours. What a joke. This is why people leave.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2034492#Comment_2034492

I feel you. I have 800 hours in the game. I often meet 5k hours Killers. They're too strong for me to even learn something.

But I don't want to be against players who have no clue how to play neither! With MMR, it was fun, both the Killer and I were having cool chases where we had to guess what the opponent was gonna do. I mean, I've learnt from my mistakes, and I felt I improved a bit after playing the whole day.

  • It's 9 AM, my first game without MMR: Nurse who slugged us all at four generators. I would say three if one of my teammates didn't decide to come to my generator while they were chased. Ten more seconds and I would have finished it.

Rank 1 Nurse with 6k hours from their Steam profile. I don't even have 1k hours. 🙈

PS: second match, back to teammates who wanna repair a generator with me and failed their skill checks. TT_TT

Some of y’all are missing the point that this was a TEST. Even after they use this data to course correct it still won’t be perfect because this is an asymmetrical game so perfect balance doesn’t exist.

This was a huge success IMO and I can’t wait for it to go live.

Huge success for me too. I want it back now. TT_TT

I hope we won't have to wait too long before it's live. Gonna miss it a lot.

Sounds like you have a strong fear reflex.

I am sadly dead inside so to make me jump takes allot. Played way to many horror games.

Yes, I have. Fortunatelly, I got used of it in DBD.

You're lucky, I wasn't able to finish any of the three first Silent Hill because I'm scared too easily.

  • The moment I've had the biggest fear was my first meeting with Oni. I heard a big "wraaaaaaaaw", like a lion. I didn't see the Killer yet, and I was wondering what I will see. Oni appeared to me, and I dropped everything. Too scary!

My biggest jump scare moment was a Ghost Face in Hawkins. I was doing the generator upstairs in the little room. He entered the room so suddenly! I screamed and threw my mouse away.

Deathslinger who seemed to just know my build (Desperate Measures, Botany, Self Care, MoM). Fun games.

Once, I had a Demo who carried me when the last generator popped. When we reached the hook, he dropped me, hit me, and hooked me.

I had Adrenaline equipped. It's like he knew! (I don't stream, there was no way he knew outside of him doing a guess, and a right one!)

  • @Tsulan said:

The games felt more interesting with MMR on.

I don´t get why people got so mad about it. Now its back to sweat.

I agree with you. I had more interesting games when MMR was on. I enjoyed them more.

For the topic, I didn't dare playing after MMR was off. It's getting late where I live, I'll play tomorrow and see what happens.

Oh I keep Prove Thyself, and Kindred equipped as well, I try my best to be a good teammate, but I just like having LB in my back pocket in case things go south.

Do you feel you could use something more useful? I played with my baby P2 level 20 Steve today, and I had only two perks equipped. And I had a lot of fun.

If you feel two or three perks are enough during the match, why not running it. I've done the "no perks" challenge and it was fun.

But I don't think people run LB. I saw it once in 800 hours of DBD (since October 2020). Outside of me doing adept on Bill. It was a Jane who had to escape through the hatch for a tome challenge.

You can look for the hatch before the game is done. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it's like when there is one generator left with four alives, it spawns. Or using a map—but well, bringing one each time can be hard if you don't have 5k of them. 😹

  • I prefer perks that helps me during the game, because escaping isn't my primary goal. Escaping is a bonus.

My goal is getting involved as much as possible. Doing saves, generators, being chased... Then, if I can, escaping.

Also, I too often see the hatch before the genetors are all done. I'm the idiot who often run into it while chased. 😹

If we are only two left and I see the hatch, I do my possible to get the Killer as away as possible from it, so my teammate can get it in time.

I love it. The games have been fun and intense and I actually feel like I'm getting better. I hope they stick with this.

Exactly! I actually feel too that I'm learning properly and getting better. And I wanna hug my teammates now, they play well most of the time.

Lastly : it kinda makes me want to do my own stats but i know that i will forget at some point ahah

I started doing it, I've taken notes on my first game, then I forgot. 😹

  • Yes, I like it so far. I have more enjoyable matches.

I wasn't here when the first MMR was implemented, I have no opinion about it, I've just heard it wasn't really good. But this one, I like it and I can't wait for it to be in the game.

Wait there's Claudette challenges in the new time? I haven't opened that thing in months on principle but is there seriously a Claudette challenge when she's already had a tome dedicated to her? Have they run out of ideas already? Lmao

There is one at least. IIRC, you have to do two good healing skill check as her.

I wonder if cross play has anything to do with it I have if off always and it seemed fairly consistent

Don't you meet the same players when crossplay off? I'm on PC, and each time I turn it off, I'm with the same Survivors and against the same Killers. Like there are ten people playing and we meet each other everytime.

I'm curious to see if turning it off will be as efficient as having it on with the MMR. I will try.

I'll always stealth. It's the doctor? Well time to just keep distance, even if I get static'd I can just sneak away if he's not using restraint.

The oni? Pretty much the same thing really except that he doesn't have extra effects from madness.

The legion though, ######### the legion.

Legion enters Frenzy. My teammates: let's hide, they will never find us.

  • 2021-03-18.png

I don't know them, I'm a solo Survivor. I was playing my baby P1 Meg for the fun, with three random perks. Steve... Thank you! I don't ask people to be grateful when I take a protection hit, or anything to save them, but... Thanks.

I went to a door, Dwight 99% it and we left the area. I went to the other door, because Steve was injured and I wanted to make sure he was fine. He was opening the second door, and I stayed behind him to protect him. One second before he was done, the Killer went to us and I got the hit. Steve opened and we escaped together. The other two Survivors followed a few seconds later.

That kind of reaction makes me so happy. It's unexpected, and I feel so glad I took the hit for you. I wish I have people like you in my lobbies more often, because if you reacted this way, it means you would do the same. (At least, I like to think it is the case.)

  • Thank you for sharing. I love reading these kind of stats. I wish I can done the same, but after getting the information on one match, I forgot for the next ones.

Recording might help, but I would feel too lazy to watch hours of playing. Pretty good job, I'm impatient to read more stats.

With the new chapter, I'm curious to see if people will play the new perks often or not.

Basically the information that I have right now is that everyone will be set back to Rank 20 on the 13th of each month, you will gain pips as you progress and put the time in but you won't depip. You will receive a BP reward based on your rank prior to the reset then - so if you get to rank 1 you will gain 250k for example, but if you get to rank 4 you will gain 200k (these numbers are examples for now).

Thank you so much for letting me know, it was exactly the information I was looking for!

  • @Nosferatu3145 said:

It's not that hard, the one where you needed to reset the pallet close to the killer was much worse

For this one, I was lucky enough to be in The Game. I was downstair while the Killer chased someone upstair. I dropped the pallet and resetted it like nothing happened.

And for the current one, I dropped a pallet, I resetted and camped it like an idiot. 😐

  • @Mandy said:

nothing has changed with pipping as of right now, pipping will change when the MMR is implemented fully with the Rank Rewards etc.

May I ask what will change about pipping?

Time for the test is actually perfect for me. It'll be on during the day tomorrow (I live in France, it started at 7 PM), and it's a day off for me. There will be an official thread to get feedback?

I can't wait to check the MMR, as a solo Survivor!

  • I use it when I want to farm BP because I'm almost done with a P3. But not a fan. I appreciate it when someone runs it, tho.

  • I have the issue too. There is a thread on the bug report category, I think it's marked as aknowledged.

We can hope a fix will come with the next chapter. It's frustrating, but it doesn't happen as much as it did when the emblems were broken.

  • Good perk, but I too often see people using it to go from a generator to another. Like, they so want to get a use of it that they use it whenever they can.

  • Another video (not from me) if you want.

    https://youtu.be/ZmqAChRBVeE

  • @Shaped said:

Insulting others may be a strategy but inhumane one. You can win games while being respectful to others.

I can't agree more with that. Exactly what I think.

  • I'm currently on my way to P3 Nea, Meg, Steve and Kate. I don't know why I do four in the same time. Anyway, as I got them new outfits, I wanted to play them before I got P3 and the usual perks I run.

I played freshly P1 Meg at level 1. The only perk I had was Adrenaline tier 1. I went this way, and had a lot of fun because I felt I didn't take anything seriously. I did the same with Nea, I had Quick and Quiet, Iron Will and Fixated tier 2, and I had a very fun match against a Spirit.

I feel when I don't have my "serious build", I don't care if I play well or not, and this is when I actually play pretty well.

I know DBD isn't a competitive game, but I can't play PVP games without trying to learn, being better, improving, etc. I'm also someone who stresses very easily, and I feel that when I try, I panic and do poorly. When I'm like, I'm just doing a tome challenge, or playing with no perks, I don't mind how I will perform and I play well because stress free.

I already done the no perk achievement, but I think I'll do it again to learn how to play for just having fun instead of trying to do better and better.

    TL:DR; I agree with you. 😼

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235220/stopped-running-meta-perks-im-having-more-fun-now

I started running lithe, dance with me, iron will, and quick and quiet just for the lawls cause solo queue is awful. To my surprise it's been very successful in juking most killers even at red ranks. It's refreshing co.pared to the meta.

This is a build I'm using at the moment! I like it too. Quick and Quiet is actually one of my favorite perks now.

I'm looking to create more fun builds now. Like one per character, based on their personality, skills or even outfit. (Like a healing build on Cheryl with the Lisa skin.)

  • @JinSime said:

I'll be surprised if I see this perk more than BL or Lithe, actually.

I never see BL being used, but Lithe isn't rare in my lobbies. Of course, Dead Hard and Sprint Burst are way more common.

Smash Hit sounds nice on paper, but same: I'll be surprised to see it after the first week of the release. I guess people will run it a few times, because it's new, because they want to try it out, then everyone will forget about it.

It's like Power Struggle. It's been weeks I didn't see anyone running it.

  • I think I've got something like level 35. It was under 40 for sure, but I probably did some mistakes when grabbing things in the bloodweb.

  • Fog is coming to get you. Joke aside, I hope you're doing well. Take care, and as people said before I do, rumors tell it'll be next week.

  • @TheBus4K said:

Wait, the MMR system is already active? No longer searching based on ranks?

    It's not active yet.

  • Spine Chill and Resilience is a great combo to fast vault even faster.

  • Before I decided to Prestige all my characters, I maxed Cheryl and I was like, I have good items... Before I started to Prestige her, I used as much offering as possible, as much items as I was able to.

But I'm "new". I started to play in October 2020, I didn't have event items, except the Halloween ones. If I had anniversary items, I would hesitate a bit... I think I would use them and doing the Prestige after.

I'm like you: I love to collect things. I understand how you feel. I think instead of keeping all our items, we could still have an exception on rare items such event ones. Because we know we won't be able to get the Gâteau from the third anniversary back.

It could be a kind of trading system: you trade an item from another character. You trade, let's say, an Escape Cake for an event one. Your future Prestige has the Escape Cake and another character has the event Gâteau. And then, you saved the offering. (I hope what I wrote makes sense, English isn't my native language.)

    I see, thank you!

I'm a survivor main but I care about killers fun. I never teabag or do anything that's toxic to others because I know thats completely unfun. I also only take one meta perk to be more fair.

This. But I think I have three meta perks–Adrenaline, BT and IW. I feel dropping two for fun perks will be a good idea.

    I love Fixated for instance.

Killer's fun is important to me too. If I feel they wanna give up, I don't have fun myself. I'm selfish: I care for others having fun so I can have fun, and everyone has fun.

  • @Zeus said:

His demon ability makes him S tier easily but the thing is he needs to charge it up first and you don't get it for free. He definitely has counterplay. Either the first survivor to get chased should not be greedy and make sure he doesn't give the first hit. The second counterplay is to just hide when he is in his power. He's fast which means he's highly unlikely to check lockers and stuffs and even if he finds you, you'll kick him out of his power and not give him any blood in return.

The issue is solo survivors don't do either of them.

What do you mean by "greedy"? Sorry, English isn't my native language, but I would like to understand what it means.

  • Huntress. Her hatchets scare me. I swear, I always got hit miles away, when I can't even hear her coming.

But Oni. The first time I've met one, when I was new, I dropped my mouse and I yelled. I... I just stopped to do anything. He was in a fury mode and he scared me so much that I wasn't able to do anything.

There's no start over option, nor can you make different profiles on one account.

I'm someone who, if the game is thoroughly enjoyable, likes to start all over again.

Did it with multiple games before, i'm not making DbD an exception.

Though i won't be able to get everything i want from the Rift on both accounts, i have my limits. 😜

It makes sense! I love to start over as well, I understand. I don't count the number of time I created a new character in The Elder Scrolls games, for instance.
