No. It would be just viable, now it's not.
- you need corrupt intervention
- traps easy to spot and disable
- injured person bypass red-addon
-
No, only camping killers are going to see it.
-
Happens the same when you repair a generator.
-
Let's make it 10s like BT basekit.
No, 20 seconds. And if it activates you can use it again right after.

Play smarter around it. If the survivors managed to do all gens and exit gate you lost. You don't even deserve to get another kill.
That applies to Survivors as well, and no, you haven't lost. End game perks exist for a reason.
But I am curious, by "play smarter around" you mean tweak nVidia settings or go full Discord?
-
Survivors should not be able to repair generators without an electrical mechanical degree.

Nope, disagree. BT was countering a playstyle. Don't play like that and you have no issue with it. Its so damn easy and simple, why are yall making it complicated?
BT was used offensively together with other perks such as DS and even DH.
It was used by SWF all the time even with unbreakable to ensure they can unhook Survivors at will, etc. Specially in the end game.
-
Borrowed Time was an issue before yes it was. Abused by SWF even today. However, it was nerfed and Survivors have so many more powerful toys so they can abuse. Because basekit BT is a thing Survivors have a free slot.
Meanwhile... The Trapper...
-
Sure yeah let´s make Flashbang also base kit.
Anything else you need?
(it sucks when you want to use something but forces you to lock a perk slot isn´t it? happens the same to Killers with Lightborn)

Basekit bt is huge against all those bot killers who were relying on cheap playstyle to secure kills because they lack skills to catch others.
Anyone else who knows what to do just didn't care and still get the 4ks. Myself included.
No, it´s huge because you have 20s immunity with BT. And because it guarantees you safety in the event of unsafe unhooks and allows to bodyblock, etc. Sure, you can trade for the unhooker, you are still playing cheap by your rules.
But if we are talking about "relying in cheap" how about playing using Voice Communications (Discord)?
-
This update was sold like "Killer sided" but I always said it wasnt. Basekit BT is huge.
And the nerf to Dead Hard while good, it did not nerf the perk to the ground like happens when a Killer perk is nerfed. I could name a few but I don´t think there is any need.
Survivor have so many immunity hits they can take, plus boons to heal, weapons, etc. Surreal.

So what?
If a killer wants to camp hook they are free too.
No wonder this game bigger and strinkier pile of garbage, when killers like you with this mentality running freely among us.
Amongst whom?
I see you undusted The Entitled Survivor Book Of Rules.
-
The letters are pretty much the events, free play, etc.
-
nowadays the killers have many tools to find survs,
Right let´s compare Killers "tools" with Survivor tools.
As Survivor:
- You have Discord (if playing the Survive With Friends experience vs the Solo Queue Experience).
- You have a various aura perks that notify you of the Killer whereabouts.
- You have the Terror Radius warning you of the Killer presence.
- You have offensive weapons: flashlights, flashbangs, head on, etc.
- You have lockers to hide.
- You have huge maps to hide with a lot of corn, grass, rocks, etc.
- You have tools to distract the killer (Diversion to name one).
- You have Distortion, to prevent the Killer from locating you.
- You can destroy hooks using toolboxes.
- You have Deliverance to unhook you without anyone else´s presence or help. And then destroy the hook to after unhooked.
- You have Reassurance, to ensure you won´t die on the Hook quickly.
- You have BaseKit Borrowed Time that gives you immunity after you are unhooked for 20 seconds. WOW.
Yet, you want to literally make the HUD lie to the Killer so that you can get advantage and a free heal under the hook, too.
Surreal stuff mate

I am not saying SWF and Nurse players are god tier players but obviously both mechanics are gives you more chance to win.
Nurse is strongest killer in the game and if you are good with her, you have good chance to win.
SWF is also good. You know your team and they knows you. You guys have comm and nobody is weak on the team. So ofcourse you have good chance to win.
But you can not do this with solo or most of killers.
So question is that, game needs to balance on which level? Balance game around SWF & Nurse level and make everything strong like them? Or balance game around solo-q & average killers.
This is important question to balance game tho.
SWF on Discord have a bit more than "a bit chance to win" they literally have perks synergies and can call out the location of Killer an attempt things that otherwise would be plain impossible.

You are claiming that "If it's in the game, it's fair" in a game where extremely unfair playstyles are possible.
So either you have never faced any of these playstyles yourselves (I have a hard time believing one could play against eg. a Nurse + Starstruck on Midwich and genuinely think this was a fair experience), or you use them yourself. So that is not attacking your character,I'm just saying that by making such a ridiculous claim you can not be in a good position to tell other people what are the "rules to follow".
Let me ask you a stupid question.
What is a fair bit experience for you?

I already know that most of the comments will be something along the lines of "skill issue" or "git gud", but please, hear me out.
Old ruin, for those who weren't around or have forgotten about its original effect, caused gens to lose 5% progress if survivors didn't hit great skill checks every time a skill check came up.
Experienced players ignored ruin because they could consistently hit great skill checks or cleansed it early because they knew about totem locations. All in all, old ruin didn't really bother those players much.
New players, however, couldn't hit great skill checks and didn't know about totem locations, which made ruin very effective against them.
And now we have new overcharge, which brings back this scenario of a perk that doesn't do much against experienced players but destroys newer ones.
Ruin was specifically reworked not only because it was on every build ever, but also because it affected new players in a much more devastating way than experienced ones.
So why do we have a perk that reintroduced this issue? In higher mmr overcharge becomes a worse call of brine, yet in low mmr this perk destroys newbies. I don't think that is good perk design.
Oppression also has a difficult skill check, but it is on a cooldown. Why can't overcharge's skill check part work like that as well? Or better yet, buff the regression but remove the skill check or make it easier. This way the perk won't be useless against good survivors and won't be as strong against new players.
I run Oppression a lot now, but the reason is that it causes three generators to regress, typically if Survivors go to rescue or whatever they will leave their gen. And then they can also fail the Skill Check and you can then go to check the explosion plus the extra 5%.
But regression perks do nothing against two guys doing the generator using Prove Thyself. And, for that, Discordance is the perk to use and not a regression perk.

I'm not referring to BMing and being a jerk
No, of course not. Who would think that, who would ever do that.
so the Killer looking up or down doesn't negate the whole thing
It doesn´t as it is.
Maybe a mini-blind that shuts off scratch marks for a few seconds, or maybe makes them harder to read.
You have a perk for that already, Lightweight I think it´s called. And scratch marks are already hard to read on their own.
and useable in only a few instances
Killers have Lightborn. So you want to deny a perk just so that you can troll the clown role even more.
If that bothers you don´t bring them in first place.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say, but again, good killer players can and do win the vast majority of their matches even without camping and tunnelling. I'm not saying this is true in tournaments, but it is provably true in the actual game mode that 99+% of players actually play. Even at the upper end of MMR, it is possible to win most of your killer matches even without camping and tunnelling. Even without playing Nurse! If you do camp and tunnel, you can even win most of your matches perkless (as you'll see in the vods here https://www.twitch.tv/kaiizoru/videos for just one random example).
The solution to a real extent really is "gitting gut". But again, that doesn't mean I am ignorant of the fact that in high-level matchups against competitive teams on voice comms, camping and tunnelling to a degree are necessary to be able to consistently compete, and that therefore nerfs to those strategies have to go alongside with buffs to other aspects of killer gameplay. I also am for SWF nerfs. And various lower-tier killers deserve buffs anyway.
The 12 hook win is a myth past ash ranks. As long as Survivors are not doing stupid rituals like "go to the Killers face and wave your hand 2 times.

The objective is to repair 5 generators, not 7. Swapping from a 25% gen to a fresh gen just to jump off it at 25% would mean the objective never gets done. At best, one gen ends up repaired before all four survivors are dead.
The killer equivalent would be to injure all survivors before rotating back to the first survivor to down and hook them. Tunneling being a made-up word doesn't magically make it non-existent.
BT has absolutely nothing to do with Trapper needing buffs. If somebody chooses to bodyblock or hide in plain sight with their BT, that mistake should be punished. Not tunneling doesn't mean playing nice. It just means you don't tunnel.
The objective is to repair 5 generators, not 7.
Objective is to Kill 4 Survivors, not to hook 12 times.

Hate to break it to anyone, but if you find it "impossible" to win without camping and tunnelling, you are just not good enough. Even at the oh so "competitive" MMR cap. https://twitter.com/KnightLight1337/status/1563656841976057863
To note: I do think actual nerfs to camping and tunnelling have to go along with buffs to other aspects of killer gameplay.
Maybe you are not good enough as Survivor if you have to find a team ON DISCORD.
Maybe you are not good enough if you are unable to rescue safely and need so many pallets and crutches, maybe you are not good enough at hiding.
-
-"Had they just made Reassurance basekit and increase it to 60 seconds, I can assure you killers would just give up on camping altogether and would leave the hook IMMEDIATELY to chase someone."
You may as well then remove the hooks all together, you hook once and the whole post explodes liberating the Survivor, plus no hook, as a little extra.
And the Survivor can fly like Tinkerbell for 10s to ensure the whole thing.
-
@DBDVulture said:
It's really simple so I'll explain it to you.
- The survivor objective is shorter than the killer objective. The survivor objective does not move and there should be for the majority of the game be three survivors working on this objective at any given moment during the majority of the time played.
- The killer objective moves because it is played by a person. Crocodiles and lions hunt at watering holes because that is where the game is most vulnerable. Unhooking events put survivors in the same dilemma.
- The AI doesn't get mad when generators are tunneled but survivors do. The killer however is very likely to get upset if they lose 3 gens in the first chase. If survivors don't want to give you an easy chase you can just guard the hook. The easiest way to punish survivors who are gen rushing is to make the unhooks not be "Free". Survivors could choose friends before gens to stop camping but they almost always choose gens before friends.
- Completed generators cannot be turned off and killed survivors cannot come back until the next trial. Therefore survivors should try to finish a gen before starting a new one. Killers should remove the survivors from the game one by one.
- Putting all of this together it becomes clear that killer tunneling is a result of survivors rushing their objective. You really can't blame the killer for tunneling/camping if the survivors are rushing gens. If you want to make the game fair to both sides then you need to change many of the game rules so that killers do not feel camping is the only way to "catch up". Killers need to feel that going for lots of hooks on different survivors is a viable option.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163644#Comment_3163644
-"Had they just made Reassurance basekit and increase it to 60 seconds, I can assure you killers would just give up on camping altogether and would leave the hook IMMEDIATELY to chase someone."
And most of the remaining killers would immediately quit playing the game. Why you ask? Because killer streamers with 9k hours often can't win the game unless they camp/tunnel/slug. I watched two games today on Otz's stream and he tunneled to win both games. Once was on purpose and the other was an intentional camp as "punishment" for being forced to play the Badham map.
Not "often" -> rarely you can win without slug/camp/tunnel. Like you are saying, these streamed games where you hook 12 guys and looks so easy are either fake or rigged.
And I encourage everyone to do the same. Tunnel and camp as you see fit.

This is a serious matter. Hag is basically powerless right now due to Reassurance preventing survivors from trading hooks early in the game, which is where Hag gets her pressure from, and the 10 sec BT, as it renders Hag useless for 10 seconds. Because the unhooked survivor has speed boost and endurance, they can trigger all of the traps in the area with no resistance from the killer.
When you combine that with off the record and COH, she's effectively useless in any lobby. Hag isn't a chase killer, and it's impossible to catch any survivor in a short period of time. The only advantage Hag has is she can be anywhere else as long as a survivor triggers her traps. But she can't pressure any survivors to do anything without triggering her traps first. She can't waste too much time chasing healthy survivors either.
Plus Corrupt Intervention nerfed.

Let me ask you.. how many kills do you get on average with trapper?
Myself in particular, quite a lot, by let's say my Trapper gameplay is non-standard. That's why I pick it.
I haven't counted but it's closer to 3k/4k than 1k. But then again with no add-ons or against a good SWF doing gens... little you can do. Not to mention it's stressful and requires patience until the end to play for the 4k.
And you have to run Corrupt Intervention and red/pink add-ons. Otherwise they will trample you and you will have to leverage the nastiness.
If you have to pick up traps one by one and no add-ons. You can't win.

Survivor is the power role, they are the ones to win, play Survivor with Discord and your friends to win. That also brings more money to the game if you all buy skins.

I assume this is meant to be about bodyblocking, right? But even in those scenarios, just hit the guy bodyblocking then evaluate who the most vulnerable target is. Worst case scenario is you get a Mend slowdown out of the guy you had to hit, it's really not that big of a deal.
It's not "then we'll talk", just don't tunnel if they aren't bodyblocking, and if they are bodyblocking just handle it. Neither are difficult or game-ending.

The issue is they didn't punish camping and tunnelling enough. Simple as that. Had they just made Reassurance basekit and increase it to 60 seconds, I can assure you killers would just give up on camping altogether and would leave the hook IMMEDIATELY to chase someone.
Since they're scared of the 3 or 4 very loud killer mains in this forum (they're always the same ones, as I say very often) that like to promote this kind of playstyle, they always tiptoe around these things. They should stop being afraid and act.
It would boost the Civilization V player base for sure.

Point still stands. OP thinks he deserves a kill because he can count to 10 sec. Unlucky, the change is designed to prevent that.
(On top of this he's plain wrong, you can still tunnel as good as before; good survivors were already playing with OtR anyway and buffed BT doesn't give anything more to them except a slightly longer haste. So with this thread OP is not just showing that he's a tunneler, he's showing that he's a bad tunneler.)
What kill? One still has to get the guy in the hook. Can be unhooked again.
Also maybe don't unhook in my face after 10s when I already saw you nearby. No reason for me to go a wall and do like if I didn't see you.
I am meant to be pressuring gens, I cannot do that if a Survivor or two are coming for the rescue because it makes no sense to do so.
That hook you want to unhook with zero risk meant a generator or two to be repaired, mind you.
