I thought about a combo of "Surge"+"Overcharge" and even "Cruel Limits"+"Bitter Murmur", but honestly, with 24 metres on them the first combo hits 0-1 gen the most times and the second one is only useful on very specific maps. Kinda disappointed if they stay like this.

Survivor perks just got buffed on the PTB and they look quite nice. "Camaraderie" got potential in a 4man swf, "Inner Strength" got huge combo potential with already meta perks and "Fixated" is pretty dope in stealth builds.

But yeah 75% of the perks are not worth to use right now. (better than 100% on Ghostface i guess)

Nah overcharge + surge doesn't work so

  • Thanks for helping me de-pip, already too high to support a game or two, actually contributing contrary to your belief.

That's not really an option. If the EGC does not start, you have as much time as you want. That basically means waiting until the killer gives up, especially in instances where the killer can see both gates from a single point. This is the exact sort of thing the EGC was meant to fix.

If that happens, you, as the survivor:

    • Have failed to power the exit gates.
    • Have failed to find the hatch first.
    • Have failed to open the gates before the collapse ends.

It's meant to be incredibly hard at that point, you already had multiple chances to escape and failed.

    @BBQnDemogorgon said:

If you outplayed the killer you wouldn't be in that situation...Gens didn't get done, no gates opened and hatch was closed by the killer.

Killer deserves to have you in a tough situation after all of that...

Survivor finds hatch first? Survivor escapes.

Killer finds hatch first? Killer has to guard 2 gates for a couple minutes to 4k.

    Sounds fair to me.

There's 1 end of the stick you guys are obviously ignoring. Survivors with keys just leave and make 1 or two survivors life a pain in the ass, it happens way too often. No, EGC should only activate if an exit gate is powered, not otherwise. Even if the gates were able to be powered, one at least will come out alive, the other one will probably be six feet under.

  • yeah I agree, not enough positivity going around.

They need to be more gruesome. There is no reason why the survivors head shouldn't come off or show more blood in Demi's Mori.

This is one of those things you have to get right in horror. Intuitively know when to show gore and not to. Michael Myers was fine, I didn't expect to much but come on. Polish it up please!

Some countries don't allow it, remember this is a steam product. It's mostly international.

  • you do know BHVR is a business, right?

  • I think people don't know you can fake out of a pounce. Faking out can be lethal to a survivor and the only real issue the Demogorgon glaringly has is being lackful in the chase category, he can be looped.

  • I mean it's the internet, moaning is normal. It's annoying, but there's nothing you can do to prevent it. I don't either think the philosophy reflects on the word that people use "perfect" but just to be much better.

  • Because Australia and other regions/countries have gone to complete ######### because the system isn't quite ready yet. It will be, but they are solving important issues. Stay tuned.

Well monsters and killers can give two flips about your culture or religion we need decapitation

too bad that's reverse psychology for BHVR

  • With Inner Strength probably becoming a pinpoint in the meta, it's making the survivors go for a second objective to be able to use the perk, and rewarding them in the process. If Inner Strength doesn't work, then sure, but for now I think Inner Strength might hang on some things.

  • I would have preferred if they did something with the upside-down soundtrack at 2:30. Maybe it's for the chase music? Either way it would make chases feel more terrifying, and as a result, scares and more caution is taken. Just hope! I don't care really for the new theme.

It would be hard to make it fit into the game

All killers have either been human, or a humanoid monster for a reason. If they wanted to stay true to the character like they have with all other killers, The Alien would be pretty undnerwhelming to its movie counterpart.

Don't think you know how business works.

This Stranger Things chapter was something they couldn't give up, it would have increased their playercount and look where we are now. Just to reference it, what if NX actually wanted their show into a killer game and BHVR saw it as being convenient? My point is that companies will break lore if they see an opportunity to get cashflow, and the substance of players.

Now with the possibilities of non-humanoid killers, its all coming together... I can see it now, the Alien with Ripley, on the Nostromo, where you can look out windows and see the void of space. with a dark Alien: Isolation vibe and hundreds of mori possibilities. The second Michael was released as the first licensed killer, this has been on my mind, and now its finally a possibility. While I don't see it coming soon, I can definitely see it releasing along side the next Alien film. And i know for a fact that behavior have thought of this themselves, its just too good of a match. Let me know your thoughts and the likelihood of this happening. See you in the fog!

Space wouldn't be possible even if the Entity wanted so. They need to stay to lore a bit, might sound contradictory to my last response, but... Look, listen. A monstrous creature is OK now since we have the Demogorgon, even the Predator! Point is that it just wouldn't fit into the universe. Maybe if they could twist it because of cash flow, but...

Countries like Germany want nothing gory at all, whether you're 5 or 75.

If the model of the body was made as a full textured pattern, no red spots, would it still be considered gory though? Like sure, decapitation in itself is gory, but part of what makes it is the amount of blood splashing throughout the screen.

  • It looks good, still should have decapitation and spit the head of the survivor out, then 10s despawning.

Maybe improve the character models etc instead of just adding more cash cow options

Apparently they did some work on the characters and their hair on the PTB or the upcoming one, don't take this for granted though.

  • Even then they get first reactions from players, so it's good, right...?

32 meters is a lot — 32 meters is just the radius. Imagine putting a 64 diameter sphere on the map, which has a volume of 137,000 meters around you. The formula for a sphere is (4/3)×3.14×Radius = Volume.

Now, with 24 meters, we have a sphere with a volume of 57905.84 meters around you.

I know these numbers are big, but really, Dead By Daylight doesn't have a lot of multi-story (Vertical) buildings, so most of that will go to waste. However, my point still stands, you're covering 24 meters in every direction. That's a lot.

I don't think you understand my post. I'm not arguing against your idea, I'm just saying that I don't like how they change it. I haven't even tested it, it's just another speculation and I'm not arguing against the numbers, I just think it's unreasonable before the community tries it.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/666425#Comment_666425

Personally, I don't care what gets changed as long as we get a reason behind it. :)

The developers don't act randomly, they do things with reason, and I think it would be nice if the community gets to hear their thought process. That's all.

Nah I do. Unreasonable nerfs are not needed without seeing it through the playerbase first. Even if someone like @Peanits demonstrates or gives an example on where it can possibly be overwhelming and in which situations, that's just assumptions. It can be end up being completely useless after all.

  • @LastShoe said:

Did they already nerfed a perk that was niche? LOL

haven't tested it and you don't realize how potent and worth the perk slot it can be. Kapp'ing yourself man

  • Oh don't worry. While it's not convenient for the other side for the host to have poor internet, so be it. If it's lag switching, then yes, but the system and development team determine that before taking any action against your account. I wouldn't worry if it's because of your internet.

  • Get the Demogorgon. Surge is underrated right now, like SUPER UNDERRATED. Being able to down someone, have the time to hook them, and all the generators in your terror radius start regressing... It's something worth a perk slot.

Surge + Overcharge/Pop Goes the Weasel is going to be amazing and Ruin won't be as mandatory imo. Having a potential group not return to a broken generator(s) that is/are close to being completed, believe me, that's lethal. After hooking, Pop goes the weasel can potentially get you around -30-40% regression. That's enough for 2 or more chases by a well-rounded killer!

If someone fails a skill check when they just touched the generator, same thing just about will happen. It's too bad the community has underrated it even when it hasn't even been tested.

  • 60 seconds immunity people; If a nerf was applied and 30-40s was put into place, you would embarrassingly chasing the person down until you know it's gone, stop acting like you wouldn't. It's perfectly fine, 60 seconds of immunity is basically it, it's what counters tunneling in the first place.

60 seconds might seem obnoxious, but it really isn't that hard to leave the person on the floor and head out until you know it's up and keep an eye on the downed survivor. Making it sound like it's the end of the world. Just to add on, 30 seconds or something similar isn't that much considering you're hooking the player again, straining the game even more. Maybe if you hook another survivor or escape the killer's terror radius for 12 seconds, but nothing to the timer nerf, that's bogus.

  • The time I use my first Tbag on Steve

  • MYC, Ruin, BBQ, nurses/PGTW. Addons are subjective, but prayer beads is a must if you want to play really scummy.

  • he is strong, but a good survivor will loop him until daylight.

@HeyItsNick123andnea But that isn't any different from a MOBA, where you have to pay for new characters. So, let me ask this: would you guys then consider a MOBA P2W? Or a team shooter like Paladins?

Now, granted, you can also almost always also buy them with in-game currency. Which can also be done here, except in the cases of the licensed killers. But so far, originals outnumber the licensed.

Furthermore, billy and nurse are both considered one of the best killers, and they are free. Statistically speaking with the shrine of secrets, players who buy the character(s) aren't at much of an advantage since they really only will have the character and the perks won't be that uncommon once they hit the shrine of secrets.

Currently, the real only character or killer who is and blows people away should be the spirit, maybe for her, but she still lacks reliability without her add-ons/perks.

  • It's in the works pretty sure.

Idc about moba or paladins, never played them, never intend to. I still stand strongly by my side that perks are more vital and that they give more than the actual characters. Plus, it's not like people who can't get the most powerful perks can't obtain them just because they didn't buy the DLC.

  • I would prefer her badass red jacket with blue shirt one when they're searching through the forest and she gets trapped in the upside down

  • Theoretically, yes.

    Psychologically, maybe.

    Gameplay wise? No.

  • Not really but,

Some killers do in fact have better powers than others, but what is at steak, ie; The perks have much more value. The real only killer that can do amazing vs. a 4 man is either a Billy or mostly a Nurse. Shrine of Secrets is what doesn't make it really a P2W

Just not physically possible, due to limitations that consoles have. And, no, this isn’t a ‘PC master race’ kind of deal, it’s just how they were built, unfortunately. Plus, the devs only need a small portion of the community to test out the chapter before it’s live, so even it was possible, it just wouldn’t be worth the time.

    I don't think you're right.

    @slingshotsurvivor said:

I'm not sure why it hasn't changed especially with the success of simultaneous release across all platforms.
There are many differences that affect consoles game play differently.
    Thoughts?

The very first response is from a game developer, he says it isn't the limitations so to say, but that PC and possibly Nintendo are much friendly to the idea of a "PTB". Not so much to say it isn't possible, but it would take much more work to implement and get it passed both Sony and Microsoft.

The one directly below says it's a possibility and both companies have said no. So no, it isn't any limitations. They could theoretically do it, but it would take so much longer that it really isn't worth it. Games like PUBG developed a PTB before they released it on both Microsoft and Sony, so they put the time and effort into doing it. Theory disproven, misconception gone.

  • It's complicated man. This isn't just "fixing" a universal game mechanic, no, many perks and killers such as Insidious, Leatherface, Ghostface and other things vouch and encourage the gameplay of camping. It would take an overhaul and it's not something that can be done overnight or over a month. Think about it like a topic and it's sub-topics.

You also can't "nerf" populous psychology in-game, you might be able to alter some or many peoples opinions, but it won't be a concrete and direct hit towards the issue. This will and will always be difficult to figure out and even then, don't expect it to go away completely.

  • did you just edit your whole post and change the title from "Killer games are not challenging" or something? Jesus, of course not when they're easy survivors. I don't understand the contradiction 🤦

  • Dropping an amount of pallets gives you a 5s 5% haste. I don't know.

  • Pretty sure they do. Plunders and Ace in the hole do in fact stack but luck addons, I don't know. They might.

  • You know, it might be in the works. Xenomorph and Pennywise have by far gotten more than enough recognition now and I think the developers know that these 2 would make it incredible.

    Wiki quote:

"It" is a horrific and malevolent cosmic entity, that is billions of years old, spawned in the void of the Macroverse and came to planet Earth to feed. It lives in the sewers of Derry, awakening every 27 years to prey on the town's children, feeding on their fears and using the writhing bright orange lights that comprised his own life essence called "Deadlights", a dangerous and eldritch form of energy (which is used as a dark magical weapon by another monstrous Stephen King villain known as the Crimson King) to make them "float".

This demonic extra-dimensional entity had a body humans could only comprehend as a giant spider, but It would almost always disguise itself as a clown named "Pennywise" to attract children, so that it could capture and kill them as they were an easier target."

I like how "IT" is described in as a spider-ish Entity similar to DBD's Entity.

Anyways I don't see much of a chance for "IT" to become a DBD killer since "IT" is a mighty Entity itself but as Dr Loomis said: YOU NEVER KNOW.

I would have never expected Behaviour to actually make a real non-human killer like the Demogorgon either.

I'm pretty sure this is an misconception. Demogorgon is "humanoid" they never really limited themselves much on that factor. It was mostly because of the weight of cost which would take to develop a brand new skeleton.

  • 360's are both easy to hit and easy to do. It just takes practice, took me a while. You just need to predict where the survivor will be at what time.

  • Demogorgon, Freddy. The others you can theoretically get some type of help if you make it out, but these are two entities who pull you into their world and let's just say, they wouldn't allow you to get any sort of help at all. Plus, you would be seeing human deceased bodies, not ones with life in them.
