  • He better say lines like these. Or at least the welcome to the family son when doing his mori. AND he needs to do his psychotic laughs when ever he hits you or something.

I'd like an RE7 chapter, so naturally I'd pick The Baker Estate. I do genuinely think would it would be a good map though.

I'd probably choose the Spencer mansion over the Baker Estate but your going for consistency for an RE7 chapter and I can see that. I love the Baker Estate still. I just want a full on RE2R chapter since I love it sooooo much.

  • @thefallenloser said:

I most want Leon and Jill. Claire is kinda lame.

I tried to keep it more consistent but I see where you coming from. But hey, no one would complain if that happened.

“My little girl has given us a gift, and this gift is with me always. As you can see, the family is only a part of her gift. Which-in a word means, you’re #########!”  - Jack Baker

I know, for some survivors, they might not understand. Let me explain.

    • This new Exhaustion perk might be better than dead hard, here's why?

Let's work out the full potential.

    • You stun a killer, 2 second stun
    • The killer breaks a pallet, 2 seconds
    • You get a 4 SECOND sprint burst

Seems pretty fair, this perk is also a counter to spirit fury and enduring, which Is seriously a strong chase combo.

The main problem is how many times you'll even get to use it compared to other perks. If it was when dropping a pallet with no stun requirement then I00% I'd say its amazing. But honestly, you never get too many pallet stuns in this game. At least not enough to make this perk worth it. At high rank play I mean. You can even get hit through the pallet and I think be able to just loop around 1 pallet effectively is better than this sometimes.

I'd prefer FNAF but they'd have no survivor unless they just make up a face with Scott for a survivor if we got one for FNAF. Res would probably be much more hype though with killer options and survivor options. I've just never been a RES fan. Tried a demo on 3DS, watched a playthrough of 7. Bought the remake to play RE Resistance and remembered I hate Re controls And stopped playing.

And if he does say a few lines I'll be fine, but he needs to be able to say " Welcome to the family, son". EIther in his mori, or when hooking

Oh in his mori he 100% needs a line. He should welcome to the family you and then shove the shovel right through your face as your laying down.

Like I think it would be difficult a choice for a Resident Evil chapter, the best option would be Nemesis, since it is the best known of the franchise like Pyramid-Head in Silent Hill, but the problem is its operation, it has lethal weapons like a bazooka, flamethrowers or machine guns and tentacles, I think that would be very OP, the best thing would be that it was Mr. X, the only thing he does is chase you to death, it's like a tunneller, maybe Nemesis is a Legendary Skin or maybe 2 killers, but that's what stresses me out of an RE chapter, who they will bring.

Nemesis can fit BUT they would have to weaken him which I don't want. I want NEMESIS. That's the main reason why I personally want Mr. X. He fits perfectly, he's destructive and very lethal. Kinda like Michael but less stealthy but more lethal if used right.

  • @Zeus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2022433#Comment_2022433

I mean if he has his blood fury ability all the time, he'll be S+ tier just because of how strong it is. I was specifically talking about his ability and not the entire killer in general.

I can see that but the problem is how many times its he gonna basically have it all the time? Not often. So when ever that does happen sure he's S but that doesn't happen too often. Even with perks.

  • @Zarathos said:

Hellraiser would be amazing of all the licences he fits well with dbd but if it was fnaf or resi its always gonna be resi. Nemsis and mister x just leaves way more of an impact for me.

Definitely. Especially since they are both iconic. Now some say Mr. X isn't iconic and he wasn't but these days he is. Who is gonna forget Nemesis or Mr. X. No one.

  • @GRT_Alkaline said:

Well the best choice for a new licenced chapter has to be Mario with Waluigi as the killer...... haha

But yeah seriously out of the 2 choices the OP said i would pick Resident Evil as it's the better ip by a country mile

    Waluigi in DBD before Smash...

Same, although with how many people demanding him to have lines, if the devs considered him coming in, I have a feeling they would listen, but I do have low expectations

It seems like they put the most love and care until the characters. If they don't really want him talking I know for a fact they'll at least put his crazy laughs in.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

Lisa from remake would fit well honestly

Yeah. Plus her animations would be unique. Her hands are like tied together but she can still like drag the survivors by the neck with the metal or something.

That's understandable, I just absolutely loved RE 7, and Jack was the only villain I dealt with in RE that disturbed me the most. The Character was very realistic even for RE. But he has to have voice lines in DBD for him to be amazing

I loved the game to. If he has lines I'd love for Jack to be in the game. But without the lines I'd be disappointed.

Exactly. His personality needs to be in it.

    Put yourself in this scenario:

You're last survivor... You get in an intense chase to find hatch... Hatch closes... You get to a gate... Before you could open it he finds you and eventually downs you....unlucky but still a ggs wp onto the next game right?

    WRONG!

He nods at you and leaves you slugged whilst he wanders away... So you're stuck there, moving around for a whole 5 minutes trying to bleed out...

Sorry to bump in but, I think Birkin is way too similar to Blight, both inject themselves a drug to become a monster, and I'd think he would come in as a skin. I personally want Jack Baker, he is also a good choice and similar in strength with Mr. X. Plus I just want a map of the Baker Ranch

Birkin would be more about destruction and becoming more powerful as the game progresses and by the end he'll be like an absolute survivor obliterator. I like Jack but he just wouldnt be as cool. All 3 of these characters do fit but I'd also rather see the RPD than the Baker estate. But if still be fine with Jack if it is him. I just prefer the others.

  • It will not be changed. Its a gameplay style. Just suck it up. I usually don't like saying this stuff because its not helpful but there's not much I can say. Just deal with it.

  • Oni is nowhere near OP. No killer is. Good? Yes. OP? Not really. You probably just get lucky. He is fun though. Those are the killers I love to fight and play. Oni and Nurse are the killers I have so much fun with. They are good but have things you can do. They aren't like Spirit where she's boring but still good.

  • @Zeus said:

His demon ability makes him S tier easily but the thing is he needs to charge it up first and you don't get it for free. He definitely has counterplay. Either the first survivor to get chased should not be greedy and make sure he doesn't give the first hit. The second counterplay is to just hide when he is in his power. He's fast which means he's highly unlikely to check lockers and stuffs and even if he finds you, you'll kick him out of his power and not give him any blood in return.

The issue is solo survivors don't do either of them.

He isn't S tier but pretty high up.

He doesn't have to be exactly like he is in RE, but if not Nemesis I would like to see Birkin be the killer.

I always wanted an RE chapter to have 2 killers. It probably won't happen. I do think it will have 2 survivors though. But the 2 killers I want if ghat somehow happened is Mr. X AND Birkin. Its be PERFECT! Since Claire deals with Birkin more than Leon does and Leon is more on the Mr. X side. So having Claire and Leon AND Mr. X and Birkin is exactly what I think is a perfect thing.

Chapters are pretty cheap, so I don't mind skins being expensive. I've spent hundreds and I don't mind at all. Just dont buy cosmetics if you don't like the price 🤷‍♂️

These types of replies aren't helpful and are just dismissing so much. How many people can afford these skins? I want to buy them but I'm not paying $20 for 2 skins. You may have the money but people like me don't. They should make skins at a reasonable and logical price for everyone.

  • @Grimmy_Bluues said:

Hard choice since I love em both, but RE has more to work with in terms of maps, powers, killers, and survivors.

(Bring in Nemesis and have him use his flamethrower and mutate as the match progresses.)

I feel Nemesis is way too much for DBD. He can run probably faster than Billy and have even more control over his movement.

I know they have a lot of money, but as I understand it, much of that goes into maintaining the dedicated servers and paying the people who design the skins and such.

There is most likely still left over money despite all that.

    Pennywise

im surprised he is hardly mentioned here but we need him .

he has ALOT of potential to be here like he can be a different survivor OR a prop (because he is a monster) and then gets out of the hide and slashes survivors

also he has alot of skin ideas and definitely his 1990 version skin is really scary just seeing him running at u with his mouth open wide with alot of teeth there .

amd he has alot of map ideas .

thing is he is like the most well fitted character idea to the game out of all other ideas imo

Im not as invested in characters like that but I know enough about him. Or at least I know what he can do. I never liked the new films mainly for his appearance. I thought the old costume was always the best mainly because he actually looked like a friendly Clown. I know its a movie but who would EVER go near that new one? He's supposed to lure kids in and if he is he should look friendly. Kinda. Anyways I do hope to see him someday because like I said I don't know too much but I really do think he's cool.

We have KPop now so anything goes. Mary Poppins and Maleficent are good shouts.

Joking aside, gotta be Alien for me.

Alien would be so awesome. Probably very hard to get though since Alien... Is just probably bigger than anything in DBD atm. Like Alien is loved by both groups, action and horror. I love horror and action. The first movie was horror and we have action films. Its good if its for more than 1 audience but since it has multiple groups of people, horror and action, its bigger than idk, Halloween or Nightmare or Bubba because those only appeal to horror people. So 1 group. I hope it happens someday though.

BHVR does their best work with original characters, even if the killer role is quite frustrating right now.

Mmmmm I'd have to disagree. They get creative and stuff but I feel like the licenses get the most care, love, and effort. Its pretty obvious to. If I was working on characters for this game and got to make a licensed character I'd definitely be putting in more effort then say any of the unlicensed ones. I love the licenses and I'm sure the devs do as well. That's why when they come out they actually function. Twins didnt. The licensed characters created whole new mechanics or expanded on already existing mechanics. Michael created obsessions. Pyramid created the new coding for like the ground thingy. They also created some of the most used perks. Decisive, BT, Unbreakable, STBFL, PWYF, BBQ, ect. They impacted the game most in my eyes.

  • @Boss said:

Idc either way, but you always like one thing more than the other, right?

So i guess i'd go for Resident Evil.

Can't answer any other questions though, i've only played RE5, and i did that for the co-op.

    I had fun.

I understand why people like RE5. Its just disliked by most of the RE community since its just a worse version of RE4. For most people at least.

Man I love alien a lot but just don't see it happening nor fitting in well. That's kinda why I make a push for predator instead since his gameplay is a lot easier to imagine and he would more likely be in those environments while xenomorphs seem more out of place, gameplay would be weird (it's hard go imagine they would hook survivors since there is no reason to think they care about the entity. Carrying would look weird. I highly doubt they would wall climb and ceiling climb which is a must to me.)

The thing about Predator is those are action films. I think Alien would fit pretty well. We have Demogorgon. Alien would basically be Demogorgon but the Xenomorph has more abilities so he'd probably automatically be better if they did it smart.

  • @Blueberry said:

Resident Evil and Alien are at the top of my license list.

I'm right there with ya. I love them both to death.

  • @Dabihwow said:

Honestly, I'd be happy with either one. Both would bring in a flood of fans/ new players, both would be amazingly loved, but most important importantly ( to the devs), a large amount of profit. But if I had to choose, I'd go RE, mostly I want either Mr. X or Jack Baker most of all. I don't want Nemesis, 1: It will literally make the survivors the Mary Sue's each time they win against a Nemesis, the bastard would hands down easily be able to score a 4k easily, if they truly wanted to live up to his name from the old RE. Jack Baker, and Mr. X are the most human like of the two, and most logical, maybe not as popular as Nemesis, but a lot more realistic. I also want the Baker mansion as a map, that is a 'proper' swamp map ( Definitely not talking about Backwater, *cough, *cough)

Mr. X has always been my top choice. Especially after RE2. And those footsteps. I don't want see Nemesis slapped around. Mainly because Nemesis isn't Nemesis without his weapons AND he already took a beating recently. He's one of the worst BOW's in REsistance, Mr. X became a better Nemesis than Nemesis in the remakes, and he kinda sucks in RE Verse.

plant wasn't a boss just one of the things you had to solve a puzzle to get a part to pass that area....maybe that was in 2....anyhow RE is a puzzle game set in horror but I wouldn't want to see either of those here

The first RE game has the most puzzles. There are plenty of things making it fit. I mean it was a huge inspiration for Silent Hill. Without RE that probably wouldn't exist. There are so many options for a killer or maybe even multiple killers if they wanted to go all out. Lisa Trevor, Leechmen, RE1 Tyrant, Mr. X, William Birkin, Nemesis, Dr. Salvador, Jack Baker and more. All these characters fit perfectly. RE was never a puzzle game unless its the first one I guess. But RE is more of a survival horror game than a puzzle game. Its a survival horror franchise with puzzles.

  • @NoxVeno said:

Sure Resident Evil, the plant boss from the first one. it can't chase but you have to do the 5 gens in the right order then find the red glyph. oh and you have to drop a pallet to get to the exit gate. yeah.......

    Huh?

  • @SleepyWillo said:

I dont think 20 will be a licensed one. I think they'll make it the LGBT chapter to profit off of Pride.

Looking forward to an LGBT character finally being added I just wish they wouldnt try to profit off of it so much...

I think most people are fed up with unlicensed chapters because these days they dont have a map. And there are people that will probably leave for a bit if its not licensed or doesn't have a map. Plus with the pattern I think its almost 100% licensed. Stranger Things was an anniversary chapter and so was Silent Hill. 2 big milestones. Stranger Things was a huge surprise. And so was Silent Hill. I think Silent Hill was even bigger so the really need to top it. That's why I think RE is it. Silent Hill is considered the #2 biggest horror game franchise and RE is #1. It makes sense to try to do that + RE is very popular + the possibility is more open then usual since Capcom just did a collab with Division 2 of all games. They might have more up their sleeves.

Her power is one of the easiest to master. The learning curve is literally whether or not you have a good headset.

That's simply nowhere near true. You can have any headset and still do good. It all depends on your practice and the actual player. It doesn't take a couple matches to get used to it. It take maybe a couple weeks to fully get her down.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Yeah, silly complaint since NOEDs not even a good perk

Depends on the killer. If it does activate and your a smart and good killer it can be really good.

  • She's frustrating but takes a lot of skill. Her power is nowhere near easy to master. It may seem like it sometimes but its not. And if you want a nerd, well it depends on what nerf it is. An indication would be too much. It would immensely hurt her in the fun category.

  • Its a very bad idea. This happens because the killer is smart and will kill someone early or the survivor makes all the dumbest moves possible which gets them killed. It may not be fun but it doesn't happen that many times anyways so there would be no point to do this.

  • People need to understand that it simply doesn't work. I mean it can but then it'll just be a discount version of a few other killers but in 1. No one wants that. The only thing that fits is the lore and kind of design but characters like Springtrap do absolutely nothing in the games except for jumpscare you cheaply which doesn't scare anyone after the 10th time in 5 seconds. What would they do?

  • Its nowhere near busted. You have to be smart to get big value out of it. Plus you overestimate the effect. Those who use it correctly get rewarded. Those who are reckless could end up in an even worse position than they already were.

  • @selflessnea said:

I went into this event expecting less since they had said in a previous stream that they were going to focus on anniversary and Halloween events. So I am probably one of the few that are overall fine with the event. To me they did the minimum they needed to and then they also added a "new toolbox" on top of it.

    I can see that.
