I was very skeptical even before re8 came out that either of them would come to DBD but after playing the castle portion I'm much more confident it won't be any of them for a lot of reasons. Each isn't necessarily the strongest argument by themselves but collectively you do have plenty of reasons for why it won't be them
1. Lady D's height. Yes this has been explained at length already but you have to acknowledge that she is just too tall typically. Sure they could change it maybe but we don't have any reason to believe they for sure would. Her being super tall is one of her more iconic features. It would be similar to giving Nemesis a regular human head but keeping everything else the same. It just fundamentally changes the character.
2. Capcom would have had to lend out the content well before their game was released since BHVR has been working on this chapter for a while now. I just don't see them lending out content before their game releases for a number of reasons.
3. Not iconic like older content.
4. Seems very likely umbrella will be at least heavily involved given the charm which RE8 is way after Umbrella
5. Lorewise wouldn't make sense for the daughters since they are Confined to fairly warm temperatures otherwise they would die. Yes this game isn't cannon but the devs have made it clear that they don't want to contradict fundamental parts of each character
6. Lady D doesn't have any powers in her base form. Yes she has her claws but that's it. The only thing I could maybe see doing is having her be an m1 killer with an instadown but we already have plenty of those. Unless BHVR changed the characters power she would be very simplistic.
7. Lady Ds second form just doesn't work straight up.
8. The daughters power would essentially be Spirit if they had powers. They disappear and reappear mostly with bugs faulting around. People already don't like spirits power currently and I doubt BHVR would add basically the same character that already controversial.
Again, I can see a case for arguing against a few of these points but you are still left with a lot of other issues that just don't make them work in the game.
I just finished the doll portion so maybe the other bosses could work? I still have to play more to see but right now I don't see a killer coming from re8
The height thing never mattered. They could bring in Lady D which I still dont think is coming, Mr. X, Nemesis ECT and keep their height the way its supposed to be. For anyone who has been playing these games I'm gonna use Mr. X as an example. Some people say they would desize him but you don't need to. In RE2 when the door is already open which is every DBD door, Mr. X's model bends down to fit under without losing any control of movement and control. They could just add a system in DBD where when you get really close to a door your model bends down and your camera slightly goes down. You can do that same thing with all of them. But honestly I dont think they should add them. SPOILERS FOR RE8: The Witches die VERY early and same with Alcina Dimitrescu. Bringing someone who lingers around longer in the actual games and are more iconic is smarter. As much as I loved playing and beating Village and love those characters they just aren't likely to come in. They would really have a power that unique if they wanted to stick close to what they do in the game. They'd most likely be skins with new animations and voices instead.

I've seen a few people talk about him before as a kind of healthy killer for the game not being a M1 that struggles if people just predrop and go from loop to loop early but also not being a killer like deathslinger as a minor level or spirit at a major level that there's very little a survivor can do against in the 1v1 i can sort of understand why but I feel like im in a minority that thinks he is kinda boring and repetitive to play and hes unfun to face because he gets a lot of free hits if used correctly through forcing a drop then using his power or just going through pallets when surivers cant drop then M1ing. I'm just curious what other people think of him because I think I have a more negative view than most people by what I see on the forums.
I think good killers are healthy regardless of anyone's fun. Sure both can happen. I personally thoroughly enjoy playing against and as him but I understand why people find him boring.

I agree. I know I'm in a small minority here, but come on guys Tyrant is the Original, quintessential, practical RE KILLER/creature/character. I remember having his action figure toy as a kid. He's practical because he doesn't need any weapons other than his own body. That would be awesome. The one from the first game btw.
I mean honestly any of the characters I listed can fit perfectly. I love all these characters though. Whichever one they choose I'm sure most RE fans will be happy since... Well we just love all these characters/monsters. Sure some more than others but still love em.

unless they changed it from the ptb there is literally not a sun in sight and so it cannot be daylight??? because daylight happens during the day which is when the sun is in the sky??!?
Ok

It makes no sense to bring a newer RE character into DBD. It would be a missed opportunity and some say for marketing but why does a game that's been out for a month already need marketing? This is also the 25th anniversary collabing with DBD. Not just any RE collaboration.

I like the daytime stuff but I feel it is too bright. Should be a slight bit darker.

I mean that's not even what it is in the game :\

Ok

This game should always be tipped in the killers favor. Not a lot but enough to way survivors have to always fight hard to survive but killers still need skill and and to pay attention to win.

Nemesis, but Birkin isn't a bad choice either. No other characters are iconic enough for the slot in DbD, or if they are, they don't fit in DbD, like Wesker for example.
They don't really need the most iconic characters. They just need someone iconic enough and that just fits.

Excellent point, dr. salvador skin for bubba would be amazing. I will also be on board with pretty much any killer they bring, regular zombies aside. I really wish they could manage adding multiple killers for this chapter because there are so many good options
He'd fit better for Hillbilly. The way he runs works better on Hillbilly and the can replace Billy's scream with Salvador's.

Okay so I've been playing the game awhile now, but I only really play killer because it is the most interesting part of the game, but I only really played Pyramid Head and Demo so I've started picking up Nurse and Blight because I find their playstyles massively different and I've been getting a lil bored of the mains, and I want to know why survivors find it necessary to tbag every time i miss a blink or a rush with nurse or blight, and then sit and tbag the exit gates as if they just won a game against Otz or something???? Like bruh fair enough if I was playing like an a hole or being toxic but bruh all I have on is nurses calling and plaid flannel, and I instantly blink away when I hook to try apply pressure, so camping isn't a valid excuse??? like my guy well done you can do a normal loop or spam flashlight,,,, you're not that good like 9/10 plays you did were bad but because I'm on Nurse or Fantaboi i cant exactly punish you for it like I can with Demo or Chunky Boi. Like it just makes me not want to try new killers cos survivors are so god damnnnn toxic.

I started playing when Michael was the only licensed so he was the only one I could buy since the others were free. But I bought the game for him anyways now I'm just waiting for my favorite game franchise RE to retire Michael as my main...
-
Ustanak wouldn't be a skin for anyone since he doesn't work like any other RE monster. He would have to be an entirely unique killer which obviously won't happen.
-
@Man_of_triangles said:
I doubt there would be that much demand for it, compared to all the other legendary possibilities. I'm hoping the killer is Nemesis which would mean there probably wouldn't be that many, if any legendaries, and instead it would just be various Nemesis outfits.
Nemesis has very little potential for skins. Mr. X on the other hand has way more potential.

Hi,
I was wondering if you play a Male survivor are putting yourself at a disadvantage by playing a male character in this game.
I love Felix but I see a ton of people play the females characters and I wonder is it because they are smaller in size so less easy to see? Is this a thing that people actively think about?
Does it even matter?
Just a passing thought as I buy more skins for my boy.
It basically does little. Doesn't really matter.
-
Punish survivors for not understanding that camping is a strategy. Every game has unfun strategies. Just move on to the next game. Camping happens a lot but honestly some over exaggerate one how much it truly happens.

Why did survivors use DS everyday and as soon as it was nerfed no one uses it?

It is an exciting chapter, especially considering the plethora of killers, survivors and maps (there better be a map!) available!
The reason I didn't go for the highest on this poll is because Silent Hill was the big one for me. However, RE is definitely going to be exciting (remember BHVR, please add a map with this!🙏
There will be a map. Its more appropriate and needed to have an RE more even more than SH. Good thing we'll have both.

Bringing in skins like Alice from the movies is what I mean. The only other thing that I have said could come from the movies is nemesis and the way his power could work because he is in both.
They wouldn't use the minigun for Nemesis. They can make his design like that since his movie design isn't actually that bad but the mini gun is a no. He needs is rocket launcher.

That's why I said the word majority and not the word all. But again you have no idea what the devs have planned for the chapter when it's released or after for any legendary skins that will later be released, but if you want to pretend like you do go for it.
I don't no what the devs are doing. I already know that. What I do know is that they aren't bringing in the movies. For skins that's different. As base stuff no they will simply not do that.

I don't know how you know what everybody thinks unless you're psychic. Nobody other than the devs know anything about what's being put into the game.
And yet again you can't completely disregard the fact the so many people have watched the movies without playing the games, some even got into the games because of the movies. Also the majority of licensed dlcs have come from movie characters so no one can logically say that it's not a possibility that they can take anything from the movies as well.
The other licensed characters came from movies because they came from movies. Did PH come from the Silent Hill movies? No. Not at all.

She was in every single movie so of course she is one of the most well known characters out of the franchise, that's just a fact whether you like it or not. The resident evil movies is one of the biggest horror movie series of this generation. You can't disregard that, there are many people out there that have watched the movies and never played a single game. And again you aren't a dev so you have zero idea what the devs are going to use from the franchise.
She isn't at all. I can list a mountain of characters everyone likes more than her. I don't have to be a dev to know they aren't using something from the movies. Literally everyone knows that. Hell, they used the font from the games.

So what, Nemesis was in both and they can use whatever resources from either to put him into dbd.
Capcom signed off and gave the rights for what's in the movies so they can use whatever they like from them if they choose to do so.
Its not about if they can or can't. Do you think they will use anything from the movies? No they won't.

Hmm... killers don't necessarily have to have a personality. Trapper, Hag, Wraith, and quite a few others have none. They just need to be terrifying. His lack of personality actually would make his servitude to The Entity believable. Nemesis and Mr. X were made to serve, now they are just serving something else.
Rocket launcher and flamethrower could work, and would be something new and exciting, though it doesn't have to be added. I can see a few directions they could go with one of the Tyrants.
Not really sure why people keep bringing up the size argument. Tall killers are already about 8 feet tall, and I believe all the doorways are still quite a bit taller than all of the tall killers.
The reason why people bring em up is because they are all probably taller than all the other killers. Even if they keep them really tall still they can have ways to make it work.

The movies are based of the games and they're part of the same franchise. They can take from whichever they like or even both especially when it comes to legendary skins and extra content. You can't just dismiss the fact that the movies exist.
Its a completely different universe with some of the same characters.

Love Resident Evil, but I'm worried about aesthetical changes. We all know how licensed survivors looks now, so... yeah. I do think the Killer is going to look as good as in their own game, but I'm not too sure about the survivor. I'm also worried about the Resident Evil Killer being weak, hope they make them justice with the powers.
Regarding the other debate going on here... While Jack Baker was a good and scary antagonist, he's definitely not as iconic as Mr. X, Nemesis... or Birkin, Wesker. RE7 hasn't been around for that long, it doesn't matter if it was a good game or not. I'm not saying Jack doesn't have a chance of being the Killer for this chapter, cause really, he does. But in my personal opinion, Jack won't attract as many players as the other ones I've mentioned before. Hell, even Osmund Saddler is probably more remembered than any Baker family member.
The big problem here is that, not all of us RE fans think alike. Some players love all the games, no matter what directions they took. Others hate the originals. Then others hate the newer ones. THEN others hate the ones who changed the survival horror formula. And so on... My point is, no matter what Killer they choose for, it won't please everyone. However, I do think they have a bigger chance of success with a Killer from the PS1 era, where it all started. Anything can happen, tho.
Saddler more remembered than the Baker family? How? Everyone I have ever talked to always mistakes him for Salazar.

Nemesis has a story to especially if you go off the films where he was a good guy who was infected and then used as an experiment for umbrella to become a rival to Alice as their top killer in their little experimental game.
I'm simply saying that there are many different ways he can be implemented and he would also appeal to an even bigger audience of people who have watched the movies and never even played the games.
Bringing up the movies is a crime. Why would they ever do that? They can just use the comics.

That's just one example of how his power could work and he can be much better than trickster if the devs put a decent amount of effort into implementing it, which I'm sure they will do as they always work harder on the licensed chapters.
Nemesis never used a gatling gun in the games.

Nemesis had a Gatling gun and can use that in the game and have to hit so many shots like trickster does, or I'm sure there are other ways he can be implemented into the game.
