What was this chapter? What was this entire update? You just ######### out another chapter like you have been doing and you do it with your biggest license ever for DBD? There is no charm or love in this chapter! Sure its not as bad as the last 2 but its still horrendous. How do you end up treating Silent Hill and Stranger Things and every other license so well and not RE? Of course I want them all to be good and they are EXCEPT RE. This chapter doesn't feel special to even someone like me who absolutely loves RE, who plays those games daily and more than even your game which I also play a lot. You RUINED it. It was your only opportunity to do it to. I doubt you'll do any reworks to make it feel good. It is garbage and it'll always feel like garbage. But WHY did you decide to crap on it? Everyone expected a good chapter since licenses are usually handled well no matter what, well now even licensed chapters are even save from you bull! Get your ######### together please! This is the 4TH CHAPTER IN A ROW RELEASING WITHOUT A ######### MAP! What are you doing!? You can't save this shitfest of a chapter that was supposed to be your biggest one. Stop being lazy and ######### EVERYTHING up already. This is the biggest horror game franchise ever made and will probably stay that way for a long time as its still going strong. Hopefully more people go play REsistance over this dumpster pile of a chapter.

Its alright. Probably wouldn't work.

Idk I feel like giving him something like that in tier 3 would be a bit much considering his tier 3 is permanent unlike Oni. He honestly is fine as is.
Well obviously the running wouldn't be permanent so I don't get it.

You understand the part that every killer is bent to the will of the Entity? Don’t you?
You understand that has nothing to with anything I'm talking about don't you?

They had to speed up Pyramid Head when they made him lol so it makes sense that not everything can be translated 100% from RE especially if it could be too unbalanced.
I never said 100%. If I wanted that I'd be saying add him rocket launcher which I don't need. He needs to be able to run which simply wouldn't be OP.

He already feels like Nemesis from what everyone is telling me,Does Pyramid Head feel like Pyramid Head?
This isn't about PH. This is about Nemesis. He's nothing like him. I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable and familiar with PH as I am with Nemesis so I can't comment on PH. Nemesis is nothing like Nemesis unless people think the looks, sounds, and animations just make him feel like Nemesis for some reason.

@Jarol said:
I don't get that Running Ability, I mean, as if his movement speed isn't 4.6 m/s? Or do you want it to be 150% faster when using that skill?
Well he would be really fast while using it. Probably very close to the Oni dash but without the instadown and instead just 1 health state.
-
@Mr_K said:
A monster with a rocket launcher who can smash through walls and chaingun down all that stand in their way.
OP?
I think with a few slight tweaks it could be balanced.
I don't know where people keep getting the minigun from. Its not the movies.

@SergioAndyno said:
For me, Nemesis has the potential to have mixed gameplay from other killers. For example, he could have these abilities: That his base speed be 4.4 m / s but that he can stampede and run very fast every so often to have map control, something like the oni; use its tentacle on the ground to attract survivors towards it, harpoon type but without being able to do it through pallets; Infect the survivors with the T virus and force them to be vaccinated so that they do not turn into a zombie, like The Pig. They really have to change their current ability, it is very basic for such an iconic character.
How do you think they should change to nemesis guys?
I want Nemesis to feel like Nemesis so I think this is fine. Right now we don't have Nemesis other than his looks, animations, and sounds.

@Dabihwow said:
Does this surprise you? I have always believed having Nemesis in DBD wouldn't be the best. Not because they couldn't do something cool or anything fun about him, it was because he was just too much for DBD. This is why I'm hesitant to add Alien or the Wendigos from Until Dawn, they just can't come in and be done justice to who they were. It would've been better for Mr.X or Jack Baker someone who isn't unstoppable but still fearsome. Yeah, they are just in it for the money.
He simply wouldn't be OP. He could have his destruction, speed, and lethality intact without being OP.
-
@CountVampyr said:
This is Dead By Daylight, not Resident Evil. While it would be nice if they could simply drop characters from other video games into it and have it work, it wouldn’t. Modifications need to be made, particularly with a killer that is ridiculously over the top powerful in its original interpretation.
Obviously I know its DBD. The things that make Nemesis feel like Nemesis have been put into many killers. Such as running and high lethality and good destruction. I'm not saying he should just be able to idk break into a sprint every 5 seconds like he would but he should just have those abilities some way. Not... Zombies? They aren't even at least the Nemesis Alpha parasite zombies. Its just zombies.
-
@TheStabbiNAngeL said:
The problem lies with the Nemesis not being the original version,of himself. If it we're Nemesis from 1999 the character would be able to break into small sprints and punch
Personally they should have waited with this chapter, if Capcom didn't want to give them the original they could have declined,but with the 25th anniversary, they probably we're in a time crunch
Capcom really screwed us over and alot of fan's but the introduction of the remake Nemesis, and never released a statement as to why the design had changed.Given the recent flak the recieving, I would guess the design was from someone else and that can't use it ,but I don't understand why the moveset changed also they could have kept that at least the same,but all of this literally will still fall back on Capcom,because you know Bhvr wanted OG Nemesis, I said I would buy the chapter but I don't think, I will because I am also a Resident Evil fan and this isn't what Resident Evil chapter should be, with the survivor perks being a middle finger to all killer mains there's nothing in this chapter, I want.
Overall Bhvr could have done better with Nemesis given how short his legs look he looks terrible
And it doesn't make sense to buy a Chapter for something that I can't even play,because of all the latency issues.
I like the Remake Nemesis. He still does things that make Nemesis feel like Nemesis to me at least. I don't care which one they choose I just want him to feel like Nemesis and the remake still almost felt 100% like that to me. He needed more time to have that feeling more but from what they were able to accomplish it was good. He's goofy in DBD.

Yes I don't see the issue with the killer that runs insanely quick, whips you with a tentacle, punches you several times in quick sucession, punches through bricks like they're made of polystyrene, has a flamethrower, rocket launcher, and mutates into several horrible monstrosities that can only be beaten finally with a rail gun so powerful that it cracked the floor.
I see no issues whatsoever.
Obviously he wouldn't have the mutations or weapons. Everything else would be perfectly fine for DBD and would still feel like Nemesis.
-
@gendoss said:
I don't know how you could make Nemesis feel like Nemesis unless he was super OP. That's kind of why he was scary in the games, because he could punch through brick walls and pull rocket launchers out on you at any moment. To make any killer balanced and fun to play against in dbd you have to downscale them a little bit. How could somebody like Trapper, a dude who has bear traps even compete with the canonical Nemesis, it just wouldn't work at all. I understand your frustration but sometimes you have to downscale stuff if you want a balanced PvP video game.
You can make him feel like Nemesis without being OP. He'd be strong but not OP depending on the numbers they choose.

Well it wouldnt be collapsed. Just locked off with a gate and locked doors like the game. It'd be kinda like the Badham variations just simpler to learn. The gen placements shouldn't be too hard for them to figure out.

Yes they could absolutely make him work. The pick up and hook situation would take some work from the devs, but those French Canadian loonie toons could find a way lofl. The hooks could be customized for him.
He also keeps the strength he has as a human so he could just throw them up if they wanna use that part of Chucky.

It would be super scary to have a stealth type killer that fan crawl on walls and stuff

You could have both be cheap you know.

None of them need a nerf. I don't even play those 2 killers that much but I have enough experience with those 2 killers AND survivors to have a better and more fun time than most. Try playing as them a bit and learn how they play and it'll help you go against them as well.

@Itslat3ncy said:
They are way to expensive. I paid 40 dollars plus all dlcs, so I dont want to pay 10 to 15 dollars on skins. I buy the unique ones like elf dwight and beast oni, but that's it. I believe they should be $2.50 to $5 on normal, and maybe $10 for legendaries.
I only really buy the skins from licenses I love. I've bought stuff like Blighted and Classic Ghost Face, the Myers outfit, Robbie Legion and soon some RE skins but not much else. The only skins I really bought that were original was a bunch of Clown stuff and I didn't get much out of it.

Genuine question, would you rather it be the other way around? If they lessened the price of cosmetics, the price of the chapters would go up. That is basic economics.
BHVR, at the end of the day, is a company and they need to make money. They could easily charge actual content for 15 dollars, but instead they make cosmetics expensive and actual gameplay changing content for cheap. They even have regular sales.
Its cool to have the real content cheaper but it makes 0 sense. Ya know if we really tried hard though we could have both pretty cheap.

I guess you're over it huh? He does look pretty cool,you got to admit it.
I never said he wasn't cool. He definitely is fun and looks great but I still don't consider him THE Nemesis. He's just a Nemesis. So I still think he'll be fun but as a huge fan of the character its ever so slightly disappointing still. I will still have fun with him though.
-
I don't feel like playing a stealth killer without being a secret for a little bit.
-
I love characters like Predator but its an action film and with the Predators move set and stuff it would be too much. It reminds me of Nemesis. I love Nemesis so much but he's from an action game and is ridiculously powerful. Very fast and very lethal.

People get upset at the mere thought of lgbt+ characters even done subtly so ######### it, go big or go home. You can't please homophobes while including LGBT+ people so if you're going to say goodbye to one of them, do it in style.
The best choice is to just leave anything like this out of this type of game. It only leads to something bad like I said.
-
As a HUGE RE fan this new killer shocked me in a bad way. While its still fun I wanted to be able to play as Nemesis but he just hotly dumped on for the 4th time in a row. One of my favorite video game villains is just getting abused in every recent version. In RE3 Remake he wasn't as cool as Mr. X, in REsistance he's the worst BOW unless you have 1 very specific move equipped, in RE: Verse he's just goofy looking and now in DBD he's not even who he is supposed to be. It just makes me sad to see this happening again and out of those 4 this one is by far the worst one for me. His mori is also HORRIBLE. Why wasn't his mori at least the kill on Brad in the original RE3 mixed with the remake kill? And half of his power, the zombies could easily have been replaced so I can play as THE Nemesis. Not A Nemesis. Having a character that's means a lot to you butchered like this over and over and so frequently really feels horrible. He's not even that good. WHERE IS HIS ICONIC RUNNING. I didn't expect him to be exactly like his RE3 Remake version. I expected to still feel like I'm playing Nemesis. This character could have easily been someone else with some animation changes of course. Like Lisa Trevor, she had tentacles. None of this makes you feel like Nemesis. I just feel like Mr. X but with a tentacle which some people might say he is just that but no Nemesis is so much more. Please don't end up releasing something that doesn't feel like him.

yeah purposefully exclude lgbt+ people because some homophobes cant handle us existing.

I thought the point of Nemesis was being big and slow?
No. If they decided to make him exactly like his games (which obviously won't happen) he would 100% be the fastest and most lethal killer in the game.
-
@Avignon said:
I mean..... his weapons is a freakin' punch, and he only needs to deliver a single kick to a gen to pop it. I'd say the 'oppresive tyrant' aspect is pretty down. If you were hoping for a rocket launcher in DBD tho..... i dono man
I don't care if he doesn't have the rocket launcher. I understand why he doesn't have it. There is no excuse to make him as slow as he is.
-
Making charms like this is only gonna lead to bad things which sucks but that's just how people how. They simply should not bother because it ONLY leads to bad things. I don't care that much because it doesn't do anything to me but there are people out there who will get ######### on for using it an I feel bad for them. If they simply DO NOT release anything like this it'll be fine. I dont think its gonna have a big impact either way but its better to have nothing then to make something that only leads to bad things.

He's huge. Look at similar tall killers - Pyramid Head lumbers, Plague and Charlotte walk. Nemesis is bigger than all of them. Giving him a run cycle where he can appear to be moving quickly while being as massive as he is would require him to have a speed higher than any other killer - like 120% or 125%. That is unexplored and unbalanced territory that gives him better chasing potential than everyone shy of Nurse (who ignores loops) and Spirit (who's faster - and look at how much people love playing against her.) It's like playing a 115 with permanent free Bloodlust - survivors can't loop you, they can only mindgame or put as many pallets between you and them until they die. And for anyone god enough to hold you off, Bloodlust applies on top of that and puts you close to cloaked Wraith speeds.
He can't be faster. Either you get the Baywatch cam run cycle or you get a smol Nemesis. Pick your poison.
I'd sacrifice zombies to get Nemesis in the game.
-
@Laluzi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2217350#Comment_2217350
Giving him a rocket launcher and a dash in addition to a sickness mechanic and anti-stealth, a ranged attack/pallet-buster that powers up in tiers, and AI minions is way more complicated than any other killer in the game and a frankly overloaded kit. Like that'd put New Freddy to shame, and he's not exactly a gold standard for power design.
DBD can't do total justice when it translates a killer into a playable format. Freddy and Pyramid Head can't torment the survivors with horrible images they dredge from their psyche, Pig can't create elaborate torture devices and lock survivors in deathtrapped rooms. Some elements have to be sacrificed to create a product that's feasible and doesn't break DBD gameplay.
I do agree his mori is very underwhelming, though.
They could.at least at true running because he just looks like a joke when just moving around in the distance. Running didn't have to be sacrificed. It just makes him look like he struggles to move around as he runs at the speed of PH dragging around a huge sword.

RE3 Remastered. If you play on Nightmare mode, he dodges bullets until he attacks.
No he doesn't. Not in my countless playthroughs. He dodges grenade launcher rounds in the flamethrower fight but that's it.
-
@Laluzi said:
Nemesis can't have the power level that he has within RE. Survivors are not equipped with the power level of the protagonists of RE - they have far less ability to withstand attacks and fight back.
I think they did a great job with what they had. The zombies are above and beyond as far as designing something unique and thematic goes.
I'm not saying he should have his levels of strength in RE. I'm saying the power is just like 25% of what Nemesis really is. The zombies has less to do with him and more with just RE as a whole.

very difficult to balance
They have plenty of running abilities. Giving him that ability wouldn't be hard too balance.

@Man_of_triangles said:
He's completely faithful outside of the lack of any heavy weaponry. He's faster than survivors, M1s them and has a tentacle attack with an infection mechanic, which is true to the character and also does a good job of representing Resident Evil which is about biological agents.
Everyone is faster than survivors. He needs to be way faster though. Not as fast as any other killed. The entire thing about Nemesis is being very fast and very lethal. Right now he's just lethal and that's it.

I didn't want Nemesis because he's super human and dodges bullets yet he takes pallets to the face. That just doesn't seem right to me. The mansion would have been great but the police department does look good so I'm happy with both choices.
In what version did he ever dodge bullets?
-
It'd not about how many people are complaining. Its about how they are doing it. Some people complain because they really wanna see this game be really good and have more. Others are just dicks which are the ones we don't wan.t
-
It'd be cool but I wouldn't really want a chapter because... Well there is just not enough where they could do that. I think a paragraph with just a killer is fine.
-
My educated guess from everything I have seen and my experience with the franchise, I'm going with 2 survivors and 1 killer. 2 survivors makes so much sense since most of the games have some sort of duo. Resident Evil 0 Remake has Billy Coen and Rebecca Chambers. Resident Evil has either Jill Valentine and Barry Burton, Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, or Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. Resident Evil 2 has either Leon Scott Kennedy and Ada Wong, Claire Redfield and Sherry Birkin (obviously she won't be in it), or Claire Redfield and Leon Scott Kennedy. Resident Evil 3 has Carlos Oliveira and Jill Valentine. Code Veronica has Claire Redfield and Steve Burnside. Resident Evil 4 has either Leon Scott Kennedy and Ada Wong or Ashley Graham and Leon Scott Kennedy. Resident Evil 5 has Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield and Sheva, Resident Evil 6 has Leon Scott Kennedy and Helena Harper, Jake Muller and Sherry Birkin, and Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has Mia Winters and Ethan Winters. Honestly Resident Evil Village/8 doesn't really have a duo but has multiple main characters. I'm going with Chris Redfield and Ethan Winters for 8. Who is think the actual survivors are, are Leon Scott Kennedy and Claire Redfield and obviously with skins of characters such as Jill, Chris, ect. Killer possibilities for each game... RE1 has Lisa Trevor and the Tyrant. RE2 has Mr. X and William Birkin. RE3 has the Nemesis. RE4 has A TON but I'm sticking with Bitores Mendez and Verdugo. RE5 has Albert Wesker. RE6 has Ustanak. RE7 has Jack Baker. RE8 has Lady D, her "daughters", Heisenberg, Salvatore Moreau, and Mother Miranda. I think the killer will be the Nemesis. I think everything that comes with the base chapter will focus on 2 and 3. So for map I believe it will be Raccoon City with the main building being the main hall of the Raccoon City Police Station.
The killer I hate for playing is Trickster.
