If people hate this update then its obvious they are most likely upset.

The chapter has a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam. Every lobby is full of Jills, Leons (and Claires and Chrises). Nemesis is pretty common (certainly a lot moreso than Twins or Trickster in the weeks after their release).

I don't know why you think this chapter was poorly received. It wasn't.

Believe it or not Capcom at least cares about what people think about their license and what fans have to say

RE3 remake and the two multiplayer RE cash grabs would suggest otherwise. They will milk this franchise for every penny.

I said hate this UPDATE. Didn't say chapter. Wording means a lot person. And also RE3 and REsistance are both very good games so I don't get how they are cash grabs. And I can bring out a bunch of examples on how they care about what the fans think. 1. If they didn't care RE7 would have been another RE6 because that game made a ######### ton of money. 2. RE2 Remake probably wouldn't exist right now but they listened because people wanted it. 3. RE4 Remake would probably not have switched developers if not for the backlash of RE3R. 4. Village didn't have any planned DLC until people asked for it. Now we are getting it. There is so much more. They definitely care about what people think as well as the money.

I don't think it's Capcom's fault the game is broken on console right now.

What? I don't think anyone said that. The post is about how do you think they feel about DBD and Behaviour for handling their chapter and the entire update around it so poorly.

  • @Mooks said:

Pretty sure it’s not that bad - especially content-wise.

the killer did bring something unique - AI based killer power with the zombies. The survivors are pretty well received and really the only universally bad feedback here are the linked cosmetics (which Capcom HAD to approve like that) and Claires Face/eyes (either buggy or approved as well). The perks are fun and interesting while not OP.

technical issues like performance or map problems is not really something directly related to Capcom and it’s also nothing that was totally unexpected so I guess -while not happy with it- Capcom still sees that it is fixable..

The killers power is unique in a bad way. Nothing is interesting. That's how you make a bad/unfun killer power by making half of it out of your control. Reminds me of Legion although still A bit better. Is it unique? Yes. Is it good or faithful like it should be? Nowhere near it. The zombies don't do much. They took away the potential for something much better like adding the real feeling of playing Nemesis in DBD.

  • @Nebula said:

At most I would say that they’re slightly annoyed. Hard to be mad when you’re making so much money though.

Other things Capcom made a ton more money than this and they don't seem proud of what they made. Like RE6. Money isn't everything to them.

Pretty sure a majority of the player base is pleased with the resident evil chapter in itself.

How many play RE has know every single little detail about characters though?

  • @CrowVortex said:

I think they should, there's enough background for a 2.0 Resident Evil chapter and i'm sure Capcom wouldn't mind additional exposure. (But you know DBD devs screw up at the simplest of things) so I doubt this'll happen now.

Grand chance to introduce two killers at the same time for a first time ever though.

Heisenberg, Lady Dimitrescu and Ethan for a survivor.

Heisenberg, big 2 handed Maul, can manipulate metal at will, could possibly block doorways and windows for a short time with metal for a 1st ability and possibly hurl metal at or entrap a survivor with metal for a 2nd, as seen in one of the game's cinematics.

Lady D, big long claws, Works in tandem with her daughter's on the map and can call on them as needed, to guard certain areas for a time being, proper patrol AI but not as dumb as nemesis' zombies. Similar to maybe bot Killer AI in the tutorial match. But with limited chase distance. Cannot patrol near hooks or directly on a Gen. Can be blinded and stunned. Cassandra patrol's near killer shack, Bela patrol's a main building or main area of a map, Daniela patrol's near an exit gate. Stealth reduces their detection, if bleeding, their detection heightens. Lady D can call on a daughter to assist while in a chase, A daughter replying with a simple "Yes, Mother" to immediately appear by Lady D to be placed in a position for 16 seconds to guard it. (Think of a sleeping Charlotte body blocking, but can attack if you get close)

2nd ability, accesses her true form and travels to a part of the map, gain a bird's eye view of the map and select out of 5 sections of the map to travel to. 30 second CD. Could balance this with lady D being 110 speed killer.

3 potential maps, Lady D's castle and the Warehouse for Heisenberg, possible additional map being the village area itself.

We won't get anything from the new game. At least not Ethan. Unless you wanna wait til like 2024 or 2025 we won't get Ethan in DBD.

With all the Jills, Leons, and Chris's i'm seeing, I think both Behaviour and Capcom thought it went really well. You need to remember that they look only at sales, maybe a bit at reviews and basically not care about forum posts

Capcom cares about what the people think believe it or not. If not RE7 would have been an action packed game like 6, RE2R and 3R wouldn't exist.

I really don't think there can be anyway to add Nemesis without him being, well Nemesis

Don't know why they can't make him run

  • A lot of people in general are leaving the game. Not for any of these reasons though. Just the game being absolute ######### is making people leave.

  • @Sluzzy said:

There is not much about these two that are meta changing. Hardly seeing anyone use their perks because they are subpar in helping win. Blast Mine doesn't stop PGTW.  It's a minor 4 sec stun, killer proceeds to pop it anyway costing the survivor a lot of objective progress regardless. Killer still uses their perk. And if the killer has Ruin which is most likely the case, then the perk is completely useless, at least for most of the match. The effects of blast mine are negligible at best. Flash Bang is too difficult to use, requires extreme precision for a blind to the killer if at all, killers are countering it in matches by looking straight up into the sky. I have yet to see flash bang do anything useful in the game. Too easy to counter. Requires a SWF to use it. Why are the devs forcing the use of SWF to play the game?

Killers are not at all concerned about blast mine and they are not worried about flash bang. Why does it have an audible cue so the killer can look away?

Why is counterforce so weak?  The totem glowing completely across the map is not much of a perk. Why can it not show all totems? Survivors already have to do two and three objectives when killer only has to do one. The killer is already totally changing the game in their favor with Ruin and probably Undying to make it that much harder.  Is it too much to ask for a perk to help counter it, well? There is too much protectionism for killers.

Blast Mine should prevent the killer from kicking it a second time, due to the explosion, or at a minimum disable PGTW and regression perks!  Flash bang should be easier to use, more effective and have longer lasting effects. The survivor meta is still mostly the same and nothing can stop the killer meta.

Ok now you are going in dangerous waters with mah Resident Enis.

  • C'mon guys that's obviously Shrek

  • Might sound crazy but some sort of goofy mode where you all start as survivors, find these blight serum things, and use them to become a killer of your choosing. You have to battle to the death so you wanna try to find a serum quick before others do so you start with a higher chance. Yes the killers can fight each other. It would be really fast paced so maybe every killer has the same movement speed no matter what killer it is and powers are tweaked for this specific mode. Like when you play Nemesis or something in this mode his tentacle keeps growing the longer you hold it or for PH instead of the trails giving you the torment effect it just makes you slower for a bit. The maps would also be a bit increased for that specific mode since there could be room to add a ton of players in 1 match. Just something unique and wouldn't be too hard to do since it would use a lot of stuff that already exists.

They all pretty much do the same thing.

You could maybe get Weskar or Birkin, but I doubt it. Birkin would function very similarly to Nemesis.

Also, you call anything other than RE boring. You're hella biased.

They all do the same thing? Look at the Lickers. Unique. William Birkin is unique. Eveline is unique. Lucas is unique. Albert is unique. Alex is unique. Mr. X is unique. They don't do the same thing. There is A LOT more variety than something like Stranger Things and more depth. And also I like a lot of things. I wouldn't call anything boring. If I did I wouldn't play games like Little Nightmares or Destroy All Humans! Or anything.

  • I mean if RE isn't then Stranger Things is just boring. Its odd to say its no interesting. I mean just look at the lickers or ivy and tell me its not interesting. Its fine if its not your thing. It is interesting for those who do though.

  • @VESSEL said:

Honestly, leaving Chris and Claire for a RE DLC 2 was the logic in my head, but either 1) Capcom wanted them as skins, or 2) Behaviour don't see DBD lasting that long for a RE 2 dlc to be wanted

Capcom probably would have went either way. I doubt we'll see anything RE for a long time though because I bet Capcom is upset with how bad this chapter was

  • @Dabihwow said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2305722#Comment_2305722

I get that, that would be fine but maybe not to where he constantly can do it like blight or Oni. I don't think his tentacles that are used to catch survivors should be a thing, because we have Deathslinger, and I'd rather see something unique

Its more unique than his tentacle basically being Pyramid Head 2 when he shouldn't be like PH at all.

  • @supersonic853 said:

Id say any chapters that had 2 survivors could get another killer for fairness. So stranger things and resident evil both couls get another killer to match the 2 survivors.

I don't think ST will ever get any other killers because... Well what would they choose? They already have Demogorgon all there is no need. RE is different. Many more possibilities and uniqueness out of the RE things.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

    I hope not.

I love RE and all, but that would be overkill. No need to clutter up the roster with 5-6 characters from the same franchise.

I don't see the problem in doing that. That just sounds incredible. Who wouldn't want that unless someone just doesn't like RE or something.

  • @Pulsar said:

Not after the travesty that's been this patch.

Besides, a Stranger Things 2 Chapter would be more likely and WAY more fun.

Think of it, Starcourt Mall as the new map.

    Will and Eleven as Survivors.

Will's perks could center around aura-reading since he's connected to a Entity-like being already.

Eleven's perks could center around moving pallets and rage.

    Killer could be the Demo-dog.

How would a Stranger Things 2 chapter be way more fun? What would they bring that would be more fun than any of the RE possibilities?

  • @miketheratguy said:

I don't myself, though we could still get a few more skins. They've covered the mains, but we're still missing Barry and Wesker. I also love (LOVE) RE7 so I think it would be great to have Jack and Marguerite as killers but I also think that it would be difficult to find a place for them. Without spoiling the game for anyone who hasn't played it Jack's most logical role as killer would be one that's already the same as some other killers and Marguerite has specific gameplay elements that make her threatening which couldn't really be pulled off well in this game (in the practical sense).

I'm surprised that I've never seen anyone else mention Mia, I'd like having her as a survivor. Same with the other guy, what's his name? The brother? Joe Don Baker of the swamp? Lol punchy grizzly man. Can't recall his name.

Joe probably won't make it since he was a DLC character. But yeah Mia would be a better pick than Ethan and actually possible. And Marguerite probably wouldn't fit or just be super repeat mechanics. There would be no need for Candy man if Marguerite was added.

Basic economics proves otherwise and hmu tomorrow when it's not 1am and I can go into this in more depth. As is, while a business remains motivated by profit then no you can't.

Depends on what you do to tell them what we want. Obviously this won't happen but if we did we could get cheap both. You would have to both tell them we want cheaper stuff and just not buy it. Like I said that won't happen but if it did hey would most likely change things for the better.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298304#Comment_2298304

So you'd rather the characters be more expensive with cheaper skins?

I'd rather both be cheap which some people don't realize we can actually get if we really ask for it.

  • @beatddb said:

So recently I bought like 4000 auric cells to get the rift and a few characters i didnt own. I was left with almost 1500 cells, so I checked for skins instead.

To my surprise skins are really ######### expensive (at least during my first impression), I mean, a character is 500 cells and a purple skin is 400? And better ones like complete sets are over 1300 cells? (almost 3 characters, or even more if they are at discount).

So, are they really that expensive or am i just not used to these practices in games? I watch dbd content on the daily and hardly ever hear people complaining about them

A purple skin is 1080. 400 is just 1 piece. Its absurd. They are 100% overpriced if your skins are double the price of your FULL characters.

Question is, what would you do to make this better chapter? How you would change Nemesis power?

Make him feel like how the character is supposed to feel. Obviously with some balancing his skill set from the games minus the weapons can fit perfectly.

  • @KateMain86 said:

You didn't give one reason why you don't like the chapter. It was just a long paragraph saying the same thing. I don't know what else anyone could've asked for in this chapter if you're a DBD & RE fan. Everything about it is perfect. You essentially got 4 survivors (the most iconic ones too) and Nemesis as the killer. Not only that, you got the RPD as a freaking map to play on. That place is literally the most iconic RE location in the entire franchise in my opinion. The survivor perks are amazing too. What more could you have asked for? This chapter has given us and especially DBD fans more than we could've asked for in this game. I don't understand what your frustration is about.

I made a whole other post on the things I don't like.

  • @Mushwin said:

You'll probably have gotten into Evil Dead the game later in the year by the time they promised even to fix whatever it is that you're turned off by lol. Hopefully that game will help keep both games better through providing competition. At least competition for new players even if it doesn't get too many old dbd ones.

Evil Dead won't be competition. It does look incredible though. The reason why it won't be competition is because of the style of game it is. Its like Left 4 Dead. 4 people vs waves of zombies/deadites. Can't really compete when the games aren't alike.

  • I have already been doing that for the past 4 years.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    Thread 29...

  • I have been here 4 years. I think its about time for me to stop playing this game.. Thanks behaviour for finally letting me go. I've waited so long for this chapter. I loved this game at one point. I was hoping you would treat RE with as much respect as any other license. It just upset me. I cared so much about DBD and the RE franchise. But you ######### it all up. I just wanted a good Resident Evil chapter.... I couldn't even get a mediocre chapter... Once I P3 "Nemesis" I'm trying my hardest too stay away from this game. It makes me so sad to say that to. Please make the game better. Maybe I'll come back. But you put the final nail in the coffin. Now excuse me while I go cry myself too sleep because I have to let go of something I once cared s deeply about that ruined something I still care so deeply about.

  • Please overhaul the RE chapter. Easily THE worst licensed chapter you ever made.

So are we gonna see your 28th post on how the RE chapter is bad because no nemesis and you don't like what RPD looks like or can we finally cap it here?

I'm gonna keep going until something is done. Obviously nothing will be done but I'm committed to fixing their ######### DLC

  • @TheGorgon said:

As a huge DBD & RE fan, this post is overwhelmingly down on the new chapter. Sure, there’s a ######### ton of bugs in this update, the new map is disabled, Claire looks like a drug addict, and Nemesis isn’t as powerful as everyone desired him to be, but...

Other than that, I find this update to be great and a friend of mine that just tried out DBD said that he doesn’t like the amount of bugs in the update, but the feel of the game is cool and is miles better than the RE multiplayer experience Capcom has given it’s fan base thus far.

So, I disagree and I think it was a good update (content-wise and conceptually too).

Strength isn't the problem. Problem is the characters arent the characters. Nemesis doesn't even feel like a DBD version of Nemesis. He feels like something completely different.

  • @JordanMalicious said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284297#Comment_2284297

He doesn't NEED a running ability, you want him to have one in your ideal Nemesis scenario. That might have made him too strong or hard to balance. He can hit over pallets, break them faster, has 2 AI (the zombies definitely need some tweaking, especially with their pathing). I feel like they mucked a few things up, but nowhere near as bad as some people say. Again, just my opinion.

Its not about balancing at all. Its about this not being Nemesis. This is just Mr. X if he had a tentacle which is no at all what Nemesis is. This isn't Nemesis.

  • @JordanMalicious said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284233#Comment_2284233

You're definitely entitled to your opinion, but without playing the chapter, how do you even know if Nemesis is bad? Giving him weapons would be stupid hard to balance. The tentacle makes sense. He uses the tentacles in both the original and remake. It is a classic finishing move when he impales your face 😅 I wish the Mori was better, but this chapter so far is pretty alright imo. I am also a massive fan of the series, I have every game on almost every platform. I even got the RE4 chainsaw controller for GameCube. Being a massive fan of the series doesn't mean you know what's best though, just like I don't know what would be best for this chapter. It may even cloud your judgement and make you too critical of what BHVR produce. Do I think the survivor skins are good? Not really, RE4 Leon is default head with a jacket, Jill looks pretty so-so, I do like the Chris outfit though 👍🏻

Having a tentacle doesn't make him feel like Nemesis. He could have easily been swapped out for many other RE monsters. I would have preferred Lisa Trevor because they went with the tentacle route. Did I want a tentacle attack? Yes. The thing that he completely lacks that would make him feel like Nemesis is his speed. He's way too slow. He needs a running ability. Wouldn't be hard to balance. They should even sacrifice zombies to put it in.

  • @IamFran said:

Nemesis is nothing like Nemesis in the RE games because he is a nerfed version of RE games one. If they make Nemesis as powerful as he is in the RE games he would be OP. Bazooka and more weapons, high speed, etc.. he would be far above the nurse and the spirit.

You don't realize what I mean. He is not a nerfed version of him. If he was he'd still feel a bit like Nemesis. The problem I have is that he feels NOTHING like him. His strength isn't what matters to me. I just want the abilities he had in the games even if they are nerfed. Like cooldown for running. Stuff like that. I understand not having weapons though.

  • RE6 is still better than DBD. It at least has effort.

  • @IamFran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284159#Comment_2284159

I'm also an huge RE fan and dont having the RPD for a few days doesn't make me think the chapter is lazy, specially considering that the proble with the map was unexpected because as far I know the map worked fine in the PTB.

The map is a small part of my complaints. A bigger complaint about the map is how it looks. Being delayed is annoying. Not at all why I hate the chapter though.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284105#Comment_2284105

OP seems weirdly obsessed that the chapter doesn't fall exactly in line with what he expected out of an Resident Evil DLC.

I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who made a thread or two complaining that Nemesis 'doesn't feel like Nemesis' because he... can't sprint like the Hillbilly?

Its not about it falling in line with what I expected. I expect good quality, a finished product, and for the things they are based on to feel like those things slightly. Little things are very important to me. The chapter isn't finished which is awful, map has weird mutation bubbles added to it for no reason. Just makes the map uglier. Nemesis is NOTHING like Nemesis in either the original OR the remake besides his looks and sounds. None of it is Resident Evil. The best part of this entire chapter was the skins. Except for the legendaries. Those looked awful. The RE4, and base Leon skin are the highlights of this chapter. Everything else is either mediocre or bad.

  • @IamFran said:

I spent time reading random sentences about how bad the RE chapter is but the only conclusion I get is you are angry only because the map is temporally disabled. You are exagerarting a lot, a new chapter is not a bad chapter only because the map is disabled for some time.

I'm speaking as a huge RE fan. Who plays the games all day. Who knows a bunch of small little things some might not know. The map simply is not the only reason. Nemesis doesn't feel like Nemesis is one of the biggest.

  • @FadedTone said:

    Leon though

I can just play actual good games for Leon. Such as RE2R, RE4, RE6, RE2 original, and more.

  • @Science_Guy said:

OP still hasn't discovered the Enter key, I see.

There wasn't a single substantive complaint in this weird rant until the end where you complained about the map not being available. Which, sure, you're right that it's lame the map is broken, but otherwise that entire post was just a bunch of random, angry sentences.

Not hard to understand why I'd be upset when something I care about a lot gets massacred in something else I really like and have been waiting years for.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

While I wouldn't say this is the biggest license I will say they ######### it up
