If you want 100% authenticity with absolutely no changes, then idk... go play the RE games?

The skins all look fine. Feng and Felix are a goofy little idea to bring DBD a little more into the RE universe. Don't buy them if they offend your sensibilities so deeply.

Hunk is neither good nor evil, so your point there is moot.

Not all killers have to be Nurse/Blight level. Plenty of people seem to be finding Wesker fun to play which, gasp!, is very important in a video game.

Stop pretending like I'm asking for 100% authenticity because that's clearly never been what I've asked for. Simply asking for Nemesis to have a rocket launcher and sprint and for Wesker to have a sprint and ditch the knife isn't 100% accuracy.

I wasn't sure about buying Feng and Felix's cosmetic before but seeing you malding over both of them just now convinced me to go ahead and get them.

Make sure to send screenshots so I can see.

Friend, we're gonna need some more constructive feedback than that if you want any chance of it being addressed. Eat less toenails is not enough to go on.

I've made many, many posts that go into detail on the first chapter alone. I've been doing that ever since it released. My core and most important issues from the first chapter apply to Project W.

The killers are just not accurate to the characters. Nemesis isn't Nemesis and Wesker isn't Wesker. Nemesis is actually Antagonist and Wesker is Alberto Whiskey. Visually (for the most part) they are good. One of the most important aspects though, the power, don't represent the characters well. It's been said many times by your own team that you wouldn't want to morph characters into something unrecognizable and that's exactly what happened 2 times in a row. Resident Evil is A franchise I care quite a lot about and DBD is A game I like a lot. The 2 attempts at RE were just failures in bringing the killers into DBD.

Nemesis is best described as a zombie general (obviously I know he doesn't necessarily control the zombies) instead of the intelligent, fast, and powerful iconic boss enemy. One of gaming's most iconic bosses. He was missing 2 of his iconic abilities. The rocket launcher and the sprint. And if the team wants to use the excuse of they didn't want to make something too similar to other killers or they think a rocket launcher wouldn't fit, the simple answer is, just do not use that character. It doesn't make people happy when their favorite characters are squeezed for money. We see this all the time in movies and stuff. Even with RE recently with that abysmal show. They take something people love and use it as a vehicle to just make whatever they want and it doesn't resemble that franchise or in this case, character.

Wesker is a step in the right direction, sure, but how many RE chapters or years would we have to go through to get it right? Another 2 chapters? Like EA's Madden or something? Not a nice comparison I'm sure but that's how it feels for RE fans. Wesker has little dashes when he should've also had a sprint. But he has problems in more areas than even Nemesis did such as his animations and... He has a knife? Just get rid of that knife and give him his palm strike or something cooler like that.

These aren't the characters that are advertised. Literally every other killer is accurate or WAS (Freddy Krueger). Somehow you guys get harder characters like Sadako and Pinhead right but not 2 very simple and easy ones. That's my problem with RE in DBD.

    What others?

Indie developers who can patch their game whenever they feel like it instead of BHVR who has to get each patch approved?

Or tripple A companies who not only have a bigger workforce but also force them to work insane hours to keep up with the ever demanding time constraint?

Mmhmm shame on bhvr to actually care about their workforce

These forums are the definition of "The best shippers are on the shore"

So many people trying to talk about stuff they know absolutely nothing about

BHVR isn't as small as they were. They could definitely get it fixed sooner. MultiVersus is already doing better with getting things out fast. And yes I know "2 different games." But they're both still games. It shouldn't be this difficult to fix this stuff at a decent speed and I'm pretty sure they could.

  • @TotemSeeker91 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3157644#Comment_3157644

Wdym? You ever see games have maintenance break? That's fixing stuff while all the servers are down, while other games like dbd just kill switch the problem to work on it

They don't take weeks to fix.

  • It's gonna be rough just like the first one. Don't know why they hate RE so much but I hope it fails but it won't.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

    Facepalm

You know that fixing these kind of things isn't instant right.

The killswitch is there so no players are affected by it anymore while they fix it.

It's like there was a giant sinkhole in the road and you say don't block the road just fix the sinkhole instantly

Sure it's not instant. Others can it in a day though. BHVR should figure that out.

  • @TotemSeeker91 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3156549#Comment_3156549

Ah well, um.... you see, fixing stuff takes time, and if you fix it without kill switching it, the that's 50k something players exploiting the bug for their amusement at others cost, so you first kill switch something TO fix it

Why can so many other companies actually fix it then fast? There's no good excuse for ir.

  • @DredgeyEdgey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3156546#Comment_3156546

Okay so let's say that we wereable to smuggle a rocket launcher into the entities realm how would it work

because my idea kept his tentacle and added a sprint so if he was able to blast someone I could drop zombies since they are pacifists and love trees

I'm pretty sure the Entity would be th some giving it to him. Everyone else is keeping their weapons. The balancing is up to the devs though. There are ways too easily balance it. Obviously he won't be spamming rocket launchers every 10 seconds or spamming sprint every 10 seconds. They have to figure out a flow with the balance which could allow every single one of his abilities be used. Tentacle would still be for chasing, Sprint for both catching up in a chase because he's terrible at that or to get somewhere quicker obviously, and Rocket Launcher would be exactly as you expect. 1 rocket and it instadowns anyone in it's radius when it hits something. The thing is, how do you even get the rocket launcher? The requirements to get it have many possibilities.

  • Kill switching is just dumb to me anyways. Instead they should fix whatever the issue is. I haven't played DBD much lately because it doesn't deserve it right now and I'm having much more fun with MultiVersus so I don't know what the problem with Sadako is but they should simply fix it and not kill switch it. It's like in GTA (and wasn't this in DBD's past as well?) Where if you exploit a glitch in the game you could get banned in it. They made the bug. Fix the problem. Shouldn't start punishing players or taking away that content. It's really annoying for people who main that character or just have the feeling that they want to play them. Same thing happened to Clown for me and I just simply didn't play that day.

  • Since this is a licensed character and just like any licensed character, accuracy is always first. Replace his entire kidding some sort of short sprint ability, A rocket launcher, and a tentacle that works a little more like Deathslinger's chain but obviously not as good and it'll feel different so it doesn't make Deathslinger non existent.

  • @AnneBonny said:

Your forgetting that some people dont have to pay for the game, its been on gamepass for xbox/windows store for years.

Aside from that point, i have no problem with what they charge when skins are new. I do wish that older skins would have more sales/price drops, and also find it odd when older non licenced skins are only available with auric cells and not shards.

Then don't put it on gamepass. But also they get paid to put it on there to.

  • @Robotfangirl67 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/341928/skin-prices

Yeah, I also totally agree that prices of cosmetics should go down. I mean like others said I know a lot of gaming businesses do need to make money. But if they lower prices of their outfits they may make even more money. Heck if they did lower the prices of outfits, I would love to buy more of them.

Exactly..I'd still be paying $10 and possibly just simply making more purchases because I know I'm gonna get some decent value for my money. When I know it's bad value I only buy stuff I REALLY want mostly.

  • @Shaped said:

Supply and demand. Nothing you can do it about it.

Also it is kinda late for that. People accepted this kind of stuff long time ago and new generations consider it normal.

It is pointless to protest at this point.

This is the type of attitude that keeps it in these games and makes gaming as a whole worse. People can do something about it. There is always people pushing back against EA. One day it might actually work. That's why people actually try and don't get pushed around to pay hundreds of dollars for worthless digital goods when I'll just go buy all the best games that have ever been released with that money.

  • @Someissues said:

No i disagree. i bought most of the skins i wanted, and they are fairly cheap

Devs need to make MONEY. no MONEY they wont SURVIVE + NEW CONTENT

    They need MONEY FOR LICENSE

There are developers who make full $60 games with no microtransactions and continue to make FREE content all the time for the people who played the 1 time purchase of $60. They don't need $10 or $15 for a skin.

  • @SuzuKR said:

    $1 for a skin? LMFAO

Yes. It costs $20 for full games. Seems reasonable to me.

  • @OrangeBear said:

If you think they are overpriced don't buy them. Unfortunately most people don't agree with this logic which is why online games nowadays have these kind of prices. It just works very well.

Staying silent is the reason why this garbage keeps happening and spreads and evolves til we get DBD's new "Entity Rarity" or something and it's $25 for that rarity or something.

  • @xfireturtlex said:

Theyd make more money if theyd stop whale hunting. Companies dont see it that way tho. Yay end-stage capitalism!

They don't see the upsides of making prices smaller to help other people because the number for each individual purchase is smaller but it can lead to some really important stuff. Like possibly more money since you'll have more people buying it and of course some good will which can go a long way if you can maintain it.

  • @amazing_grace said:

Ummm... this is a business and there are many people who are part of the team that need to get paid. While I agree that $15 for a skin is very pricey, I would think $10 for a skin would be fair for some of them. They have to make money in some way, and cosmetics is the most common way games make money.

$10 a skin isn't fair either for us. 2 skins are not the equivalent to buying full games either. Skins being $1 wouldn't kill the game or anything since we'd all still have to pay the $5 anyways but instead WE get 5 skins.

  • Claire is absolutely terrible. The others sound like a mix of different versions of the characters. Like you can hear Leon in Leon's voice but at the same time it's clearly not Nick playing him. They should just try to get the real actors and actress'. They'd be willing to do it. Especially Leon, Jill, and Claire's I would assume AR very easy to get.

  • @QwQw said:

They're pretty bad. Honestly, it kind of feels like they did it on purpose as a call back to the early RE games where the voice acting was hilariously terrible.

The remakes already slightly did that. Specifically with the cheesy writing on purpose.

  • I don't think no FNAF should really ever come to DBD. One of the most broken franchises ever.

  • Why would they take something from Friday the 13th?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I’m assuming Capcom had to give the final approval. So you can’t entirely blame BHVR. I see the rocket launcher mentioned so many times but besides a mori I don’t see how it’d work.

Capcom probably doesn't care since it's not their game. BHVR is the one who ends up coming up with the power so the blame is 100% on them. And the rocket launcher is super easy. You should after acquiring it after certain requirements are met, it hits something or someone, it explodes and anyone in the radius is downed and you carry on with the match and get another rocket later on in the match.

  • @NerfedFreddy said:

Move on. Asking for rocket launcher in dbd is unrealistic

I feel like if you constantly, every single time, give people the opposite impression of what you're actually trying to say, you're not as clear as you think you are.

I've told people countless times exactly what I want. But everyone assumes I'm asking for Nemesis to just instantly kill you when he gets you or something.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3132378#Comment_3132378

Hmm, as a company do I

A: Bring over the popular licensed character and tone down some aspects of them to better fit into their new environment

B: Throw all that money away because I can't Ctrl+C them directly from their source material and I would rather commit Seppuku in shame than disrespect these fictional characters

A is exactly what I've been asking for but most don't see it. Problem is they don't even use the most popular aspects and then tone them down. They just take random powers and not the iconic ones. I don't know why it's so hard to understand.

  • @QwQw said:

I could somewhat understand these complaints with Nemesis, but with Wesker? Really? What was Behavior supposed to do? They can't just directly pull him out of Re5 without him being overpowered.

Resident Evil is not Dead by Daylight. There's a reason why the only gun we have in the game is a harpoon gun from the 1800's. We are never going to get rocket launchers, or flamethrowers, or ballistic weapons in DbD. Behavior has to work around that, which is why Nemesis uses his fists and Wesker uses a knife (which I've heard he does in fact use in some of the spin-off games).

Characters are never going to be 100% accurate to their source material, but I feel like recently Behavior has done a great job working with what they've got.

The devs seem to think otherwise on RE being DBD in bringing in zombies with the first one.

I have an easy change they should make to the power too make it fine.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Ofcourse this topic comes from you lol.

I don't know about you but Wesker feels like RE 5 Wesker. He looks great, his power is similar.

Wesker feels slightly more like Wesker than Nemesis felt like Nemesis. He's only slightly better because he has a dash which isn't the sprint though which should've been the power.

@PixelBush, anything you'd like to add?

He HAS tentacles. Same problem with Nemesis though. Not really an iconic part of the character. Or at least not as iconic. It's like adding Jason Voorhees and he has a harpoon gun in DBD. Sure he HAS used it before in a way but the Jason you should probably add is the obvious style.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I seriously feel like you don't actually care about how accurate these characters are and you are just posting these things just for the sake of argueing out of boredom.

You didn't even mention what it is that wasen't accurate. You just danced around complaining about a issue without even being able to say what the issue is

They did a amazing job with Wesker

Also you are wrong. While accuracy is important the most important thing above all is that they fit and flow in the game they are being put in.

That's why nemesis could have never had his rocket launcher without it feeling like a party popper cause DbD isn't made for that kind of weaponery

Well sorry but I do care.

Has a knife for no good reason, has tentacles in his normal form, where is his awesome Sprint? Oh right I forgot they did the exact same things with Nemesis where it's just his animation but this time it looks even worse. He looks like The Idiot. Not The Mastermind when he walks/runs around.

Well again, DO NOT USE WESKER AND NEMESIS. If they aren't willing to put in a perfectly fitting rocket launcher if they are willing to put in literal grenades, then don't use the character which severely limits our options. We should've just gotten Mr. X although they'd give him a sledgehammer or something dumb.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3131956#Comment_3131956

He has a knife probably to sell skins since it's hard to justify selling a cosmetic when the 'weapon' is just a diff pair of gloves.

If you read the lore, Wesker was taken from RE5 right after he injected himself with Uroboros which is where his tentacles come from

Again, do not use Wesker then. It's as simple as that. It really is.

  • @jesterkind said:

Accuracy is one important thing. Other important things are making sure their ability is fun to use and to play against, making sure they fit tonally within DBD, and making sure they aren't too repetitive or boring.

I think, though I cannot prove it, that the last point there is why Nemesis doesn't sprint even though it's the only other thing he does that'd fit within DBD. Lots of killers have a sprint/dash/hurtle ability, so it'd be kind of repetitive- leaning into his tentacle and adding an infection mechanic to evoke RE in general was more unique, and since it isn't inaccurate it's totally fine.

Besides, from what I've seen, Wesker seems shockingly accurate? His main thing in RE5 seems to be super speed, like, dashing and dodging to and fro. In DBD... he has quick dashes that look very similar, on top of a fun new mechanic that plays off his strength. Similarly, he has Uroborus tentacles to play off his Uroborus form-- the infection is the only thing that isn't accurate.

I think your main issue is that you think the only way to be accurate is to translate things one-to-one. There are other forms of accuracy and faithfulness to the source material, like evoking it with similar mechanics and similar themes. Wesker fits that perfectly- drawing straight from the source for the broad shape of his power, for his voicelines, for his mori, and for his appearance, but giving them new specifics that make him fit within DBD even more smoothly.

Wesker being able to sprint isn't one to one and that's what I'm asking for. Nemesis simply having the spring and rocket launcher isn't one to one but that's all I want. I don't get where I'm saying he needs to have a tentacle too pull you in while having infinite rocket launcher bullets and can sprint and instead own you when he feels like it. That's clearly not what I'm asking for. I don't know where everyone is getting this.

  • @GeneralV said:

    Kinda?

You see, OG Freddy and Michael Myers are (were) very accurate to their source materials, but that is because they could be. It is unreasonable to expect Nemesis with a freaking Rocket Launcher in DBD.

As for Wesker... I don't care about him, but from what I've heard he seems to be pretty accurate to his RE5 version.

Why is it unreasonable to expect a rocket launcher? It's a projectile that when it hits something it explodes to a certain radius and would instadown them.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

    "some kind of balancing"

That's the problem. You can't balance everything. At some point a new design has to be made.

You're telling me simply having a rocket launcher and a sprint can't be balanced? But I assume you're talking about other characters so then all they have too do is simply do not use the character. If they aren't willing to add the character then just simply do not do it. It's better that so you don't piss off the main audience to the chapter.

  • @Brokenbones said:

What's inaccurate about Wesker, you haven't explained that whatsoever

He's RE5 wesker in literally every single way from his power, to his appearance to his voicelines

Also comparing DBD's chapters to horrible TV shows like the RE and Halo series is actually disrespectful, BHVR at least shows some care to the source material - Whether or not you agree that it's completely 'accurate' to YOUR expectations, they don't go completely off the rails with any of their characters

Sadako and Pinhead are the two most faithful license adaptations they've done

I do agree Nemesis isn't super accurate, but they were never gonna put a rocket launcher in DBD. A flamethrower I could kinda see.

Doesn't use a knife, doesn't use tentacles like that which was the same exact problem as Nemesis, and doesn't really infect you at all. That's his whole power and it's not Wesker from RE5 because he didn't do these things.

I was comparing them in the way that they both share the 1 big problem. The characters you're advertising are widely inaccurate so what was the point in using them? Like I said, if you're not gonna add in Wesker's abilities then don't use Wesker. It's simple. Just don't use him. But they decided to and give him things he doesn't do or that aren't what make him iconic in his power. He also just looks like an idiot when he runs.

Those characters are great. Pretty much every license besides both RE chapters and A Nightmare on Elm Street are great. Michael Myers is probably the best still and same with Leatherface. Super great characters. And like you said, Pinhead and Sadako. Surprisingly well implemented. It seems very hard to do that with the RE characters though.

Even if they wouldn't, then like I said, DO NOT use Nemesis at all if you'd shot willing to put something in that honestly can fit just fine until the game. Probably more than the flamethrower. Why didn't we get something like Mr. X or Birkin then? Why not just choose those better fits even though Nemesis could've fit perfectly? It doesn't make sense to use Nemesis then other than to use an iconic name to sell a crappy redone version of it that feels nothing like it. Kinda like Ghostbusters 2016 or something.

  • @OrangeBear said:

It's really not. If they prioritised accuracy over anything else, pig would have a 100% kill rate.

Only because you misunderstand what I say. What I mean by accuracy is making them feel like the character well enough. Obviously no one expects Nemesis to have infinite rockets and sprinting everywhere. Obviously he would need some kind of balancing and stuff which is fine. What I mean by accuracy is for example Nemesis just having those 2 thing in his power.

  • @QwQw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3119681#Comment_3119681

I mean yeah, Ethan is the newest and probably least known RE protagonist, which is why I wasn't really surprised when he didn't become an actual survivor, but I still don't understand why he can't be a skin. Hell, now that I'm thinking about, just why hasn't Behavior made more RE characters skins? There are so many that could work for both roles. It's an untapped goldmine.

I genuinely think it's just the licenses. I do not think they have anything outside of RE2R, RE3R, RE4, and RE5. The newest chapter proves that even more. Rebecca is licensed just how I predicted. She's from RE5's version in Mercenaries because the symbol on her back only appeared in RE5.

  • @QwQw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3119542#Comment_3119542

That's the only logical reason I can think of of why he hasn't become a skin or a survivor yet, and even then, there are workarounds.

I mean I'm sure there are other reasons. I mean I actually really liked Ethan but the clear reason they wouldn't put him in yet is because they want the better more iconic characters that fans love, even if they aren't represented correctly.
