@Okapi I think MCote is now labeled.. Head of Partnerships. So he probably works across all their projects now and not just in DBD.
-
@Twinbros I won't be surprised that eventually Killers won't see who the player names that in the lobby anymore once dedicated servers come out.
I won't be surprised that being able to look at profile will get removed. Once the servers get good with matching up people ping-wise... that spying should go out the window.

LUL
That survivor beat you more than you know of.
-
That isn't Feng, that is Fung... a whole new character.
-
I hear ya. I used to play this game allot, now most just a few matches a day. I'm on these forums more than I play the game.
Killer queue time for me isn't enjoyable when they used to be instant for me, before the new Match Making was put in.
Survivor is still fun, but feels like I get no where with the grind so I don't take it serious anymore.
The bloodpoint grind in this game is a huge turn off. It is giving me the feeling of World of Warcraft now, and better to cut my loses and stop playing.
They are putting in two more grinds now, the battle pass and the story one. They are overlay them on top of the bloodpoint grind, I think in the hopes people won't noticed how horrible it is.
-
@Slayer I bug I heard about with Sprint burst is related to the map. However maybe it is more generalized and can be done with other items aswell.
-
I know it makes sense. The more of the grind you get done, the harder it will become for you.
-
The OP does.
I sort of do to... I can see some where things were too dark.. But if they ever took on of those little bunnies off of Billy's belt, I'd be flipping out.
Some of those cosmetics cost allot, so I can understand why people might be annoyed by them getting changed.
-
It does feel different. I used spirit fury and enduring as my main staple on killers.. and I noticed it didn't feel as good as before. I was thinking it would have been a better combo after the change, but I don't feel it now, as I've switched out the spirit fury for something else.
It felt like survivors could barely get to another pallet unless it was really close by, but now it feels like they get to a new pallets every time it triggered.
-
Maybe they don't like you.

What I'm getting at with my post is the Developer Update states they are changing the New Match Making to use the average of the SWF group.
However, this actually was done over 2 years ago. I'm just kind of wondering why it is even a statement in their Developer Update, because of that fact.
If they designed a new Match Making system, wouldn't it have made sense to carry over the "rules" of the old system into the new system.
Is the new system now taking the rank of the SWF host like the past, in the beginning?
This then means I could be in the red ranks with 2 other friends, then bring in a 3rd friend who is rank 20 and have them make the lobby. That means 3 others who are in the red rank are now being paired up with rank 20 killers.
Not really fair to that rank 20 killer.
That is where the term "boosted" came from as another poster above mentioned.
--
I just think is was odd that the "taking the average" wasn't already carried over and then place in the Developer Update as if there is progress being made on something that was already done 2 year ago.
--
Now my recommendation would be rather than taking the average as it was before, now take the highest rank survivor in the lobby for the purposes of match making and see how that goes. Match Making can always trickle down to lower ranks if there isn't enough higher ranked players playing. Also the low rank friends, just want to play with friends right?.. so they accept that challenge.
-
@Tsulan It is probably boiling down to how the grind is starting to feel like a pile of crap.
I wouldn't really care if it was not "extra" points, but points spread out differently.
If I'm gonna play harder to get those escape points and spend just as much time in the match as the killer, then I might aswell play the killer to maximize my points.
-
I don't find killer anymore stressful than playing survivor.
I play the game to have fun and adjust my playstyle for it.
However... when it comes to "appealing"... When choosing which side I wish to play, I personally would find survivor more appealing to play if they scored more.
So I'm *not sure where you are coming from with your statement. I hope this clears things up for you on how I see it personally.
If you are finding playing killer "stressful" rather than "appealing" that maybe is an issue with how you view the game on a personal level.
Appealing isn't the same as stressful.
--
I'm gathering that less people playing survivor during events, or just in general, don't find the survivor side as "appealing" anymore.
If survivor was "stressful" to play, than players shouldn't play it.
-
Just start taking in franklins now whenever you see a survivor with a map in their hand.
Then camp their map.
I find maps hard to come by in this game, so that will def piss the survivor off if they leave without it.
-
I've leveled up many of my killers to P3 level 50+.. and have hundreds of addons..
Enough addons that it would be physically impossible for me to use. Even on just one killer let alone all of them.
Is it just that you only want to stockpile green, purple and red addons? Can't use those brown ones up at all?
As survivor I use my brown med kits with brown addons all the time... why can't you use your brown addons up as killer? They just aren't the addons you want to use as killer.
What might be a better idea is a way of converting addons that you could never use up into something you could use. Rather that have 100s of thousands of bloodpoints tied up into garbage cause of RNG.
-
I got the impression for killer is works like this...
You are searching.. until the MM picks you up in a bucket to be matched up.
Once it grabs you in a bucket, your lobby is actually created and MM starts throwing survivors into your lobby.
Survivor you are basically waiting to be put in a bucket, then matched, but there isn't any distinction in the "search for lobby" that tells you if you are in a bucket or not.
--
So restarting during the "searching" part only puts you back into the list for being picked up into a bucket.
--
I think restarting your MM now, will put you back to the bottom of the list.
-
Yeah just found that a bit odd, since that rule should have already been in place with the previous MM. I don't understand why it wasn't brought over with the new MM.
So I'm curious as to what is even happening now.
-
Wozzers.. read through some of the posts.
Sorry Killer mains... The sad fact is survivors need some more points.
As one mod points out... To make it more appealing to play survivor.
The word appealing is important there.
If you don't enjoy killer and find it stressful, than perhaps don't play killer anymore. You are supposed to have fun playing the game, not squeeze out a turd out every game.
Have fun.
Survivors don't mind dying for you, but I think some would like a bit more points when doing it over and over again.
-
I modified my original post to show when that change was done. On Oct 24th, 2016.
If BHVR was using the average rank back than why redo that?
Why not just change it to use the top rank of the players in the lobby. If the rank 4 player has a friend who wants to play with them, and that new player is rank 18. That is their choice. They should be paired up with rank 4 killers, not the average.
The "average" idea was already being done, so let make it harder for SWF groups. That is my vote.
-
@AetherBytes nah it was done... It was a long time ago that it was done. One of the biggest complaints about SWF when it came out, was rank 1s grouping up with low rank friends and being matched up to low rank killers.
I seen it in the patch notes myself, but those were on steam, and they cleared out the entire news section there so you can go back and check.
I was here when before SWF was put in.. and I was a SWF player that took advantage of that trick, until they remove it.
-
In my view...
All they need to do is provide bonuses to the side that is short of players, to help with queue times. I'm actually not sure why this hasn't been done yet.
Right now it is survivors, and if killers continue to be more "fun" to play, than you need more survivors.
Killers need survivors to kill, and the more you have of them the better, so BHVR should start rewarding them for being the killer's fodder.
Overall though, I would say survivor points need to be a bit more, not a huge amount but some more.
That addon/item argument is old and tired. Killers will continue to wait more and more with more that comes out.
What draws new players?.. Did Ash all of a sudden bring in a bunch of players?... nah.. people come for the killers.. they return for them. I personally don't give a crap about getting new survivors, they are only a new cosmetic that comes with a couple of perks.
-
That savefile question.. probably already happened. Usually when they announce it on stream is had already happened. At least from my experience. I find it about 1 week before the PTB comes up.
-
I don't think it carries over between trials.. I've gotten it on PC.
I ran what you did. I also used needles and septic agents. The instant heals counted and you could pull them off fast.
I also used resilience.
-
Don't play solo if you can't handle it. Kind of simple really.
If you play a certain way and want your teammates to play that certain way, than stack your team.
Otherwise, you queue up solo, you get 3 others you don't know and play the way they wish.
So deal with it.
I don't get the whining about it. Cause once you start making it harder for survivors to pip, many come right back onto these forums and complain about how long queues are taking in the higher ranks. Then when BHVR loosen the rules and you get purple ranks in your red rank match, people come back on here and complain about bad match making.
People seem to want to find whatever excuse they can and blame everyone else cause they choose to play solo.
Don't play solo, and stack your team. But then I bet they would just come back on here and blame the game cause they died from some random bug that happened to them.
These posts are pretty funny.
I like the idea about splitting SWF and Solo... LULs. If killers had the choice I bet many would never play with the SWF. If it wasn't a choice, they would be checking profiles, and once they see 2 friends together, dodge. Just make it easier for people to cherry pick their matches.
-
Not much you'll be able to do with SWFs.
Basically just try to get as many points as possible.. try to figure out who are the better players in the match as killer, and leave them alone till you get better at chases.
Or play some survivor.
--
BHVR gave new players a "new player" zone that players can't derank into. So once you get to 15 you can't get lower.
However, still after this time, the rank resets continue to happen, so that will take seasoned players into the new player zone to wreck havoc.
Another issue is the lack of players on one side, which basically means.. when searching for lobbies, you'll eventually just get matched with whomever it can find for you.
Another issue is Match Making takes the average rank of the players in the SWF lobby for matching. Which it shouldn't really, it should take the highest. Who cares if their rank 20 friend gets pitted against a rank 1 killer. They want to play together, so they can get over it.
Another issue is the grind... Even after 50 hours of playing you probably won't have much to show for it. Especially if you are playing killer, since you don't share perks between characters you'll be grinding forever, cause they keep releasing more and more without lowering the grind.
Another issue is there is 3 tiers per perk, which don't have much variance between the tiers, however it will take you 3 bloodwebs to get that perk to tier 3, which could be over 100K Bloodpoints per perk per character.
Another issue, perks are random in the webs, so the more teachables you unlock the harder it will to get the perks you want on a specific character, so the more you grind the longer it will take you to get your favourite killer in the "spot" you want.
Another issue is the point scoring for survivors isn't very good. Killers are expecting to get their 4Ks most matches, so when you are learning you are dying allot, which leads to little value for the time you spend playing. You are expected to be fodder for the killers, and not get rewarded for it.
Another issue is the amount of trash items in your blood web that you won't ever use. You'll have 100s of brown items on a character that are basically physically impossible for you to ever use unless you play 24/7 for a year straight.

But the game is fun though.
See you in the fog!
-
@coppersly I thought they said on stream the range on the teleport is unlimited, just limited to unfinished and unblocked gens.
-
How many people gonna be hording those brown garden rakes now after what they said. Sounds like that is the one that switches the snares to pallets.
Seeing Freddy bubble out of the pool of blood on the ground looked pretty cool.
-
Can he teleport to any gen?... finished or unfinished?.. Can't really watch the whole thing at the moment.
-
@NuclearBurrito tbh I just hope they make the dreamworld a bit more easier to see things in. I find him annoying to play just cause of that, otherwise he's pretty fun.
-
My bet is that the Devs put Freddy right along the top with Billy and Nurse.
Main reason I think that is because he's been the butt of many jokes since his release, that I bet they go over the top on him and make him one of the most powerful.
That is my guess though.
-
I got about 100 double blood point offerings... and about 50 or so moris ready to go..
Freddy gonna make a big pot of survivor spaghetti.
I'm hoping those 200+ brown addons become ultra rare OP ones.
-
Just do a @Peanits in you post and it will tag them.
-
Sweet.... I hope some rarities changed aswell...
-
You don't like dead bunnies flopping around on your belt?... To me, that is one of the best cosmetics out there in the game.
-
I like your killer issues... not the solutions.. but the 360'ing and tbagging. :)
I still don't understand players who get mad about someone tbagging in the match. So nerf it!... LULS
--
I don't think you should punish players for playing the match by losing Bloodpoints. You can use Bloodpoints to help shape gameplay, but I wouldn't punish players by taking them away. Just don't reward them as much.
The emblems guide how the player should play based on what the Developers prefers as "good" playstyles. Problem is there is no real reward for following the emblems. If those translated into bloodpoint rewards players might respond better. IMO

The new downvote is the upvote... get with it! Come on!
Remember everyone...
-
I know... I liked to run around backwards to confuse people
-
I like to play with my feet.
-
Freddy Spaghetti Time!
Gonna see if all those million of BP I dumped into him will be worth it or not!
-
Remember everyone...
-
ahhh... please don't forget....
Revel in your rewards
-
Someone is angry LULs
-
Can't forget about those 103% cake offerings.. if people play both sides... they would be smart to dump any BP into their killers and not survivors.
I found I was lucky if I got one double BP offering per web as survivor, where normally I get 2 double blood point offerings per killer web.. even up to 5 double bp offerings sometimes.
The amount of double BP offerings I've been getting in my killer is quite staggering when compared to survivor.
Gonna be awhile before people burn through all them on killers.
But hey.. I guess we get some firecrackers as survivor.... /kappa
-
They've mentioned why this happens on one of the past streams, maybe a few weeks ago.
Something to do with the minimum pallets for a map, and sometimes the RNG just has no where else to place some pallets so it makes those double jungle gyms.
Probably gonna have to wait for the map reworks to be done, to get this fixed.
-
Nurse to me is annoying to play. I'm not a fan of her. The odd game is ok, but I don't feel the immersion as much as the other killers.
I enjoy those chases, looping can be fun sometimes when you get into it. Some pallet players just go pallet to pallet which can be annoying sometimes, but it is fun when you get those who try to mind game with you.
But I also don't enjoying getting into and above purple ranks as killer.
-
They aren't that bad.. just keep playing at that rank and you'll get it.
Make sure to hit everyone 2 times in downing.. end chases as fast as you can.... and try to hook everyone 3 times till death... ez pz
edit:.. you have to find some potatoes at that rank.. if you get to rank 15 you may find it allot harder.
When you get a lobby look at profiles, find out who have the least hours, they are the ones you'll want to ignore in the beginning and get the tougher players first, cause the better players will slam the gens on you quicker. When you find a potato in the match, don't be so harsh on them and get away from the hooks right away, otherwise they won't save in time.
-
hmmm.. just pointing out something incase you see that in the future. Just leave.
You said it went on for 3.5 hours... and you didn't want to leave cause of a couple pips, and 100K.. you lost way more than that by sitting in there for 3.5 hours.
The game isn't worth it, once you see that happening cut your loses and move on.
-
They need to add incentives for players to play the otherside when there is a shortage.
I think someone made that suggestion over 3 years ago.
-
Experiment null and void now... way to go! NO REWARD FOR YOU!
