SWFs/Matchmaking are ruining the game for me
pretty much a broken record on the topic at this point, but being a lower rank player, still farming up every killer to lvl 40 for the teachables... being placed against SWFs with red/purple rank players is absolutely ruining this game for me.
I know this game is nearly impossible to balance, and the matchmaking is impossible to get "perfect" .. but come on.. there is no way a person with 1000+ hours and/or multiple/complete prestige IIIs should be matched anywhere near any of the newer people to the game
Ive recommended the game to a bunch of friends in our discord (about 200 people in the community), and about a dozen picked it up... and all but 1 refunded already just because of matchmaking... Fresh level 1 rank 20.. matched against purple killers, then as a killer matched against red/purple ranked SWFs
Games die if there aren't new players coming in.. and the new player experience is one of the worse I've ever seen
I've only dropped ablout $150 on the game, and I think its a pretty good value for what the game offers, but It's just really frustrating is all

Not much you'll be able to do with SWFs.
Basically just try to get as many points as possible.. try to figure out who are the better players in the match as killer, and leave them alone till you get better at chases.
Or play some survivor.

BHVR gave new players a "new player" zone that players can't derank into. So once you get to 15 you can't get lower.
However, still after this time, the rank resets continue to happen, so that will take seasoned players into the new player zone to wreck havoc.
Another issue is the lack of players on one side, which basically means.. when searching for lobbies, you'll eventually just get matched with whomever it can find for you.
Another issue is Match Making takes the average rank of the players in the SWF lobby for matching. Which it shouldn't really, it should take the highest. Who cares if their rank 20 friend gets pitted against a rank 1 killer. They want to play together, so they can get over it.
Another issue is the grind... Even after 50 hours of playing you probably won't have much to show for it. Especially if you are playing killer, since you don't share perks between characters you'll be grinding forever, cause they keep releasing more and more without lowering the grind.
Another issue is there is 3 tiers per perk, which don't have much variance between the tiers, however it will take you 3 bloodwebs to get that perk to tier 3, which could be over 100K Bloodpoints per perk per character.
Another issue, perks are random in the webs, so the more teachables you unlock the harder it will to get the perks you want on a specific character, so the more you grind the longer it will take you to get your favourite killer in the "spot" you want.
Another issue is the point scoring for survivors isn't very good. Killers are expecting to get their 4Ks most matches, so when you are learning you are dying allot, which leads to little value for the time you spend playing. You are expected to be fodder for the killers, and not get rewarded for it.
Another issue is the amount of trash items in your blood web that you won't ever use. You'll have 100s of brown items on a character that are basically physically impossible for you to ever use unless you play 24/7 for a year straight.

But the game is fun though.
See you in the fog!
