  • You'd probably have to send an email to EAC's support and ask them.

BHVR is pretty much hands off on anything that EAC does.

  • @Fictionalname but you are complaining about something they everyone already knew about. like it was some secret and they scammed people.

Where did you get 80% too?.. from some poll that not all players took part in?

Why not just learn to play with the changes... then make some suggestions on how to improve if needed... rather then jumping up and down when the hotfix was put out a few hours ago.

  • @Fictionalname

But they didn't hide the fact their were doing the detection increase.. that information was put out there before they even released him for sale.

Not their fault you choose to ignore it.

    That is a GREEEAAAT post!

  • I want this Feng... I seen this on Reddit.

  • Sounds like you play survivor better than killer.. gots to play killer properly, the way the Devs want you too... otherwise you don't rank up.

  • Nothing wrong with complaining but don't complain about things that aren't true.

  • Dedicated Servers coming early to late May?... Since when?

Summer 2019... It just turned summer.. they got till the end of summer before you can complain about that one.

They brought out an test for dedicated servers so they could learn more about the load on the servers... that was it so far.

  • Hmmm.. I might be looking at it wrong.. others can explain it better...

but I see it as... 50 percent of your matches will have at least one solo player..

What makes up the 50 percent of your other matches?.. 2x 2mans or 1x 4 man.

Then if 50 percent of your matches have at least one, it means they are... 2x solo players and 2 mans.. or 1 solo and 1 3 man.... or 4 solos.

Or does it mean.. 50 percent of the matches make up 4 man solo groups.. the other 50 percent has some form of swf...

which means SWF will be part of at least 50% of your matches.

Peanits can explain it better.. I never understand the stats that get put out.

  • Nothing wrong with Downvotes... Ask Mushwin...

    Remember everyone...

  • That dirty pig. You're upsetting Kermie

  • @se05239 I hope they do, and I hope they add in grind reduction as part of that.

Sucks to hope you get double blood point offerings in the web just inorder to feel like you are getting anywhere in this game.

  • @DBDbuildsYT

Bugs aren't even the issue anymore... at least to me, not a huge priority. This event has only highlighted how horrible the grind feels.

I don't know about many others.. but I don't think I'm gonna wait a year for a solution for it.

  • @Riddick

TBH it is nice they are "looking at it"... Glad Peanits is allowed to mention that too us.

    However lets be reasonable here...

Looking at it means.. once every week or two, a group of BHVR employees get together to evaluate the feedback and suggestions.... Then decide which ones sound "reasonable" then they start spit balling ideas.

We are basically over a year away from anything ever being done about it.

If anything... They are adding more stuff to make it worse until then.

  • @ShrekIsHot Christmas?.. We have Festivus here.

  • @LastShoe Don't be mean to Timmy. What has little Timmy done to you.

  • Yeah tbh what makes it feel worse is, you'll upgrade your killer and get 2 cake offerings.. a couple puddings in there.. and maybe even a BPS... all in the same web.

Then you goto survivor and struggle to get one cake offering in 3 bloodwebs... pretty much a big joke.

Who the hell wants a firecracker.. I mean they are ok.. but... 103% extra BP is WAY better.

Then what makes it worse... you goto to use your killer then cause you got about 50 of them on your killer, and you get treated to 5 minute lobbies, cause allot of other players are just trying to get some points.

  • The funniest thing is when you get the last survivor in your grasp and you make it look like you are taking them to the hatch.. then drop them just in front.. then close the hatch on them.

    Funniest thing ever.

  • @Visionmaker  I seen your posts.. LULs.... good luck with that one. @Entità doesn't even have to explain that one to you in such detail, even though it was nice for them to do so. Nothing is gonna happen until the Devs come out and say they will ban you for it.

If they banned all the survivors for it now, they would risk losing them completely for not informing them, since many might not even know. We here on the forums are the small and few compared to the rest.

Just like the Legion mending bug, they didn't ban anyone until they announced it in game, and even then if you used it only once they didn't.... it was only if you were excessively abusing it.

    ---

I don't even know why I wrote what I wrote above about the garbage angle you are coming at. Good luck though... See you in the fog.

  • Thats funny... I don't see your issue with NOED. Hill Billy... Leatherface... have a one shot the entire match every match, unless they take a limiter.

Yet.. you don't see those killers 100% of the time, just like you don't see NOED 100%.

You play against those killers, yet you can't play around NOED?

    Weird.

  • @rina  lol.. as soon as you said that I made a guess and you were right lols..

  • just a heads up you should always remove the names in the screenshots before posting it... they got name shaming rules against that.

but it happens... play and have fun. SWF skews the match making sometimes.. or sometimes people are waiting too long and get tossed into whatever lobby is open. Better to have a match than not getting one.

They might have some better control over it once dedicated servers come in, so you'll just have to wait a few more months.

  • They don't feel like rushing the killer... since it will take them a century to finish the gen.

  • yep.. getting them on killer seems a bit easier in the webs too, start stock piling.

  • No way.. I've been dumping millions into him.. I want the new Freddy!

  • I agree with @Mochan and that sums it all up.

    --

I didn't think I like the leaderboard idea when I first heard about it awhile ago, but the leaderboard would be better to gauge players ability since you could compare Trappers to Trappers... and Survivors to Survivors. I hope they get this done when the dedicated servers come out.

    --

I think they should then take that emblem system and use that as a bloodpoint scoring system, to incentivize players to play the way BHVR would like them too. I think many players respond better to more bloodpoints than being the best of the best.

Then they can drop WGLF and the bloodpoint bonus on BBQ.

  • @Neska

You can also get points from chasing, totems, chests, healing, saving, etc. I would rather get my point through those actions since they are more enjoyable. The ones for gens now feel like running around and getting totems, they feel more secondary.

    @Mr_T

Not sure why you get that error you should probably contact support, or check out the tech forums for a possible solution.

I'm going to clear up my point, cause sometimes I write novels and they can sometimes get a little trolly when I get certain interesting responses.

    --

"The issue with hatch spawning now, for me, is it removed some motivation in doing gens as a solo player, since now I have a chance to escape no matter what I do in the match."

    --

You sound a bit angry and willing to jump and stomp. I've experienced the things you mentioned in your first post, but I have a couple of questions for you.

Did you not have fun when you were chased for those 5 minutes by the killer?

That too me would be really enjoyable. Sure maybe the team didn't do well and everyone may still have died because nothing was done. Did you leave the game angry that happened or do you sit back and let go of that frustration and see that you may have actually had more fun, because you were chased that whole time?

I look for the fun in this game because there is allot in this game that can seem frustrating and bring you down cause things didn't go you way you expected. So even those little moments can make winning or losing still allot of fun.

    --

One idea for a possible solution might be to lower the amount of points survivors get when escaping out the hatch. As what has been mentioned in these posts, some, including myself, don't see the hatch escape as a win. Perhaps lowering the amount of points survivors receive for escaping out the hatch could be reduced. This may provide more incentive to go for an exit gate escape instead.

  • @Mr_T

You can't control who is in your match though unless you play SWF. You want better players, who try harder, then you rank up.

If you are unable to rank up, then you are no different than those who you play with.

If you are looping that killer and playing at the rank I'm at, I take that as that killer isn't very good. So I won't rush them. I would rather they catch you and then hook you so I can at least go for a save. Since rescues will be few and far between in that match. I'd then leave the hook afterwords without healing you, as you know how to play and don't need to be healed.

Don't blame the other players if you can't lose the killer. That isn't their fault, you just need more skill.

  • @darktrix

At least though with having to do 2 gens, you felt the need to help get those 2 gens done. Generally at the start of the match, all 4 survivors can't work on the same gen. So you'd have 4 survivors working on a few gens.

Which could mean you have 3 gens worth of work spread across multiple gens which helps overall during the match. Once the two gens were done, then you could relax as a solo player, cause now someone has a chance to get out. But now, as a solo player, you still have that chance to get out. SWF are the only ones who really have more of an incentive to work on them.

    @NuclearBurrito

Well that all boils down to how people look at wins in this game. If I was only ever thinking that an escape meant a win, I'd get pretty depressed and feeling I can barely ever win at this game as survivor.

I mainly just look at a win as when I get a laugh out of a match, or actually enjoy the match I played. I find there is a good mixture of unfun and fun matches. So if I had fun, I felt I won. (I have very loose ideas on what is considered a win in this game.) I could die in the first couple of minutes and still felt like I "won" since I enjoyed myself.

  • @darktrix Yeah but that is how you choose to play.

I don't care if I play with potatoes. I'm playing for fun. I don't see value in ranking up, so I don't mind playing with people of less skill, or those who just want to play and enjoy the match. I generally adjust my playstyle as I see others play in the match. If the killer isn't that skilled, I don't focus on rushing them. Potato survivors still work on gens, especially if they are in a SWF team.

Working on gens has never been that fun. They removed part of the motivation for needing to work on them as a solo player.

I basically can just focus on all other aspects of the match now, and still have my chance to escape.

  • I'm not sure what you are talking about.

They put out GF on PTB. It wasn't exactly what the Devs wanted, there was a couple bugs in him.

They then fix it, put that out on the PTB. However, the amount of changes needed probably took them longer than expected, plus the release date was coming up.

They then went forward and packaged him up to get him ready for release, but the PTB was still going.

During that time, they realize they he needed a couple more changes, but it was too late to get those fixes into the release package, since they need time for consoles.

GF gets released, now they are getting the hotfix ready to put out.

    --

What is the issue? I don't fully understand what you are getting at in your post.

  • @NuclearBurrito

That is if everyone was playing solo and UE'ing around or a 4 man SWF seal team 6 squad.

I'm not saying don't ever work on gens, or that I won't ever work on gens. I personally when playing solo, don't see that as my main objective anymore. Cause I still will have a chance to get out.

There is almost always a SWF team in the match. They have more of an incentive to work on the gens to help each other get out. They are working on getting more than one out.

As a solo player, I'm only concerned about the one that escapes, and hope it may be me. I don't need to work on any gens to get that chance of escape.

I only need to work on gens when it is convenient for me. I can focus on everything else instead.

  • @TheDiz

I hear ya. In the beginning players were conditioned with the idea of working on the "main" objective to escape.

Two gens needed to be done in the hopes for at least one can make it out. You worked on a few gens, maybe try for some saves, get chased a little. If you die, you'd hope at least someone makes it out. However the goal always was, to get yourself out.

You can still have the hope that someone makes it out, however now you don't need to work on any gens to get that hope.

I've been conditioned from the past, now I see things differently. I just took me awhile to see it. Even to this day I need to remind myself that working on gens isn't needed as a solo player, they have turned into the secondary objective killers were looking for.

Don't place too much value in your items or offerings. Use and lose them, then get some more.

  • It is about giving you hope... then taking it away.... For the LULS.

  • @Mikey11268

tbh, I usually don't escape. I would rather be the last one left, but I'll generally die going for that last person on the hook. I don't mind making the trade on the hook. I don't want them to kill themselves off so I can get the hatch.

I also would rather the killer close the hatch, so I can run around and be eaten by the Entity. I enjoy that whole thing, that is funny as hell, especially if the killer is "loosely" chasing me, to prevent me from opening an exit gate.

Most of the times I don't mind the slug, I generally don't like it when the killer could have hooked me, but doesn't take the risk on the last person. I try not to do that, unless I have a specific goal I'm trying to accomplish in the match. Securing the 4K as killer is low skill move.

    --

It isn't hard to rank up, even before these last emblem changes, I would make it to purple ranks before reset. I don't play as much anymore, nor do I care so much about ranking up. I'm usually black pipping most matches, unless I had a really bad match.

When you save and heal people... win a few chases, you'll black pip easy. Touch about 50% on gens. I don't actually try to farm people off the hook as I want to put the heal in afterwards, and sometimes I'll take that hit, depending on who the survivor is.

If I know there is a "newer" player I want to help them get points, let them get out. They can work on the gens more though while I will try to save them if they get caught.

I'll look for totems... I'll goof around with the killer. That is my fun.

    --

If you think I'm a quick and quiet player... :) I am not. I am not an UE Queen. But I will hide... I will try to stealth around the killer. I'd rather jump through a window when I know the killer isn't chasing someone, then hide and watch them search for me. I'm not getting as many blood points, but that ######### is funny.

    --

I actively don't rush killers, especially if I think they are newish. Survivors die all the time, so I don't care if they all die in those matches.

    --

All I'm saying is... As a solo player you don't really need to worry about the gens anymore.

  • They are just like the bloody party streamers, but at 103% and a higher chance to show up in the bloodweb.

  • Yee, the hatch spawns no matter what now... Even with 5 gens left, there is little incentive to bother working on gens. The only incentive you have is if you are playing in a SWF group.

If the killer finds a survivor and hooks them quickly in the match, and starts their steam roll, I'd rather run around picking off the saves until everyone is dead on hook after 3 times. Then only touch gens in between hookings, which get you a few extra blood points.

Fast match... move on to the next.

That is more fun. Gens are just for some extra points.

  • @keenko @AetherBytes @Pike_Trickfoot @Oblitiry

Well I'm just curious how many out there feel the same.

It took me a bit to become awaken to this concept. To remove the shackles of what is the "main" objectives.

Sure... you could do roles. I noticed that long ago. Some play as the mouse... some the healer... then those who slam the gens. I've played all those.

I actually felt BHVR was heading down that road. Setting it up as a team game where people assume'd their "roles" much like Overwatch.. or... whatever.

But over time.... I see the same thing.. randoms and SWF.. We choose our role.

I just no longer see working on gens as a role for the random survivor in the match. Why bother? I know I always have a chance for hatch, so I don't need to work on them.

The only goal is to get bloodpoints as a solo survivor. Rank has little meaning. Even with the upcoming changes, the battle pass?... or whatever they wish to "try" and reward us, by gaining rank.

I can earn rank by letting you all die while I focus on the hatch.

When rewards come out, I can earn a pretty shirt as reward for helping others escape?.. why?... I don't care for cosmetics other than what I buy with my 20K + shards.. or some of my cells. I got what I want now for the most part. There is no survivor reward big enough, since they are all the same... but different skins. Only the Killers are different.

If you, as killer, see me in my pretty shirt, I become a target, much like legacy is now. I hide my legacy, so I will hide my "pretty reward" shirt, for no one too see.

Anyone dying is of no consequences.. I suffer no penalty.

I play only for myself. I am selfish. I am solo.

This is "my" Dead By Daylight.

    --

@Keene_Kills I am like you, I randomize to find more fun in different builds.

    --

@Injuryble ooo... it is a everyone for themselves. How often have I been abandoned. How many times I've been ignored. I would prefer we fight one another for King Of The Hill. I see only one who should escape, and I see only me.

  • Yeah you still get the 4 stacks.. it is a visual bug.. i believe it is listed in the patch notes.

  • @ZacKskills

But why should I think of you? Playing as survivor doesn't mean I have to play as "your" teammate.

Would you rather the killer chase you or me?

You say I'm what is wrong with the game, do you get mad when you feel your teammates didn't help you?

What do you define as "helping" you?

In the past you actually worked on gens to at least there was 2 done. When survivors work on gens in the start of the match, are all survivors working on the same gens? 3 gens worth of work could be done before 2 popped. It all depends on the killer and what they do and who they find in the beginning.

There is no reason for me as solo to start working on gens at the start of the match.

    --

Who says I have to play "your" way? I find your accusation interesting.

  • @Neska It is more fun to be that distraction, don't like OoO myself though.

What I'm saying as a solo player, there is no benefit for me to work on gens since me working on them feels pointless, other than some extra bloodpoints.

As a SWF player there is an incentive for me to work on gens.

In the earlier days before EGC, there was more of an incentive to work on gens.

The hatch will spawn no matter what now, so as a solo player I don't have to work on them. If there is a SWF in my group, they work on them.

    --

Someone sabo'ing can save you in the match. Why do you think those sabo'ers are getting rewarded on emblems now. Also being chased while others work on generators gets rewarded now. So as a solo player there is even more of an incentive not to do gens.

    --

As a solo player, I don't care if you get out or not. I'm most likely going to die in the match because of how I play. That all buys players like yourself time.

However I wouldn't care if the killer dropped chasing me cause I ran by you while working on a gen. I'll be there to save you afterwards, and maybe heal you. You go back and press M1 on the gen when we are done. I'm gonna run off looking for more totems, or even the killer themselves.

    --

I'm trying to understand what is the motivation now for working on gens as a solo player. As I feel some of the motivation was removed.

  • @Redd  I don't want to rank up.... that is another issue with this game I find.

I have no desire to rank up into the red ranks where I feel I'm gonna squeeze a turd out when I have to try hard in a casual game.

I can easily get into the purple ranks by playing the way I play.

  • @Catbucket I think you feel I want to play to destroy my team. My issue is there isn't an incentive for me to help them get out as a solo player.

I would rather be that one who gets chased and tunneled the whole match. If I super try harded this game that could be fairly easy if the killer just wanted to chase me the whole match.

    I enjoy the mindgame aspect.

I love the fact the devs want to retool the maps to allow for more mindgames.

However when you take that into account, even when I play poorly it isn't hard for me to waste at least 2 to 3 gens worth of time on the killer... by doing odd and weirdish stuff.

I thought the main objective of this game is to have fun?

  • @Catbucket I like to play both. I enjoy the chase and being chased.

All I do in killer is stack all my killers with.. BBQ, Enduring, Spirit Fury and Whispers... I find a survivor and I'll chase them... they can loop me.. and mind game me, cause I actually enjoy that. Sometimes they win, sometimes they don't.

I usually go into a match as killer, looking for 1vs1... who is the better player?.. who is the worst player?

As survivor... I enjoy being chased for as long as I can last. I don't usually last long, but that is fun.

I don't actually go for unsafe hooks unless the killer is camping near by.. and sometimes I don't bother. I would rather get that killer to come after me than unhook. So I have no problem leaving them on the hook to die. However I don't care so much for the 1000+ hour play playing in the brown and green ranks with me.

  • @twistedmonkey  you see I've felt that same way cause of the way the game was. Two gens needed to be done.

Even when the EGC came out.. I still had that feeling of doing 2 gens first.

However having thinking about it and play it more.... that feeling is gone. I dont need to work on gens anymore for a possible hatch escape anymore.

  • @Catbucket that is just it isn't it? To me now... Gens are secondary as a solo player where if I'm in a SWF group, they are my main priority.

Why do I care that the 3 player SWF group I got paired up with as solo, gets out? They will work on the gens for me as they want to get out. They usually have no issues letting me die in the match, since I'm secondary to all their members.

I don't have an incentive to help them escape other than saving and healing for blood points, since that usually brings me closer to the killer, which is where the fun is.

As solo survivor.. is there a "real" reason to work on gens? In the earlier days there was. You need 2 done to get the hatch. That was enough incentive for me to focus on gens on the first part of the match.

  • @Redd to me it is a draw... not a win.

That survivor was able to escape and that 1vs1 against the killer is a draw. Neither side beat one another.

If I was able to do the remaining gens and escape out the gate... that would be a whole different matter.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 42
