@weirdkid5 nah nah nah... I'm not assuming anything.. don't assume I'm assuming :)... I'm just saying.. hatch as in, trying for it.
I don't care if I get out. I like the EGC animation and will run around looking for the killer so I can show the entity eat me.
Getting out is of no concern. The bloodpoints are nice and a bonus if I get out... but the EGC animation is worth losing the points over.
-
@weirdkid5 I still work on gens.. but only when there is no one on the hook... I might work on one if I'm on the other side of the map from a hooked person.. but I'd rather go running over there and make the save.
If I'm in a match and gens start popping in the first 2 minutes... I stop. The killer is getting rushed.. I start 99% gens for shits and giggles.
I don't benefit in helping my team escape. There is no incentive in the game to help them get out when all I'm concerned about is blood points.
Survivor to me is about cycling through matches as fast as I can to get more points. Play fast... die fast.... next match.
I have no concern for rank, since that is a pointless grind. The only grind that really seems to matter is the bloodpoints, which even now, that grind is so overbearing that it too is becoming pointless.
-
@PunL After 3 years of playing this game... Do you enjoy sitting there and holding the M1 the whole time? Or you enjoy it when the killer finds you and starts chasing you? Do you enjoy evading the killer? Watch them try to find you and fail and move on?.... That is fun.
The game that came out then is not the game it is now. As a solo player, I don't need to help you anymore, other than maybe save you, or heal you. That or run around sabo'ing hooks. That is fun.
There is no pressure to make sure 2 gens are done. I have no reason to worry about them, other than for bloodpoints.
The point of the game is to have fun.
The only time generators hold any value is when you are in a team of SWF.
-
lol those who saved a mil to dump into ghostface just got burned for doing it too soon..
-
yeah... you can do it with Michael... Spirit... Wraith.. etc.
usually there is the Adept for the killer, then a killer specific achv... then a general killer achv which can be done by any killer.
-
so you farmed and wonder why you didn't rank up?
-
@SkerpiTwitch cause you must have gotten rushed and everything happened at the end?
Then couldn't win chases fast enough and/or breaking chases and going after someone else... stood too close the person on the hook....
But without seeing emblems... not much else to say.
.
-
well that was very informative.... can't see the emblems... so... ok.
... so you'll hear this ...
Blood points have nothing to do with emblem points.
Done.
See you in the fog!
-
@Bbbrian2013 Good thing I'm only a rank 16 killer.
-
@KaoMinerva don't matter to me.
Look through the other 10 threads.. I'm sure there is a response from a dev in there.
-
haha.... Looks like the fun is beginning.
-
yeah that info on the release stuff is confusing... makes you think it isn't going to be on steam... then right below that is says 12 EST for it to be released on Steam...
OK!
I like the 103% blood point bonus... So... is the extra 3% supposed to represent 3 years?
1 extra percent a year.

MLGA won't be any good once Dedicated Servers come out since you'll only see the server you are connected to. So you'll only have a few more months to use it.
-
Survivors used to be able to see who was in the lobbies using the community tab.
Survivors could block a killer through steam and then check the lobby once they joined to see if that killer was on their block list. Then dodge.
The Devs removed that ability, cause survivors would dodge a killer all the time...
Then MLGA was born... The Devs whitelisted it for awhile, until a new feature was added that could allow a blanket block of an entire SWF group.
The Devs removed MLGA from the whitelist because of that.
MLGA will be useless once dedicated servers come out.
Survivors dodge and block for small reasons...
Killers can do the same... their ability to still block players in steam and then look them up when in the lobby.. is an issue I think.. but not as big as survivors doing it.
...
Who knows what will happen once dedicated servers come in.. it will probably stay the same for awhile, until there is an up roar about it and the Devs remove the ability from anyone seeing who is in the lobby.
..
Allowing survivors to see who the killer player is, probably isn't a good idea, since it has been shown it wasn't in the earlier days.
-
Sounds about right. Those that got fast lobbies get punished for those who are in other countries where they don't have allot of people playing.
In the efforts to remove "edge" cases where they could spend a long time getting a lobby they spread out the effect over everyone.
Once dedicated servers come in, at least those cloud systems will do part of the filtering on region, which could help in lowering the times. However right now, I believe everyone is piled into the same system when match making is done.
-
@Mushwin that would be if I had hair down there...
Smooooooooth....
I got more hair on my back then my ass crack.... there is another timbit for the thread.
-
@LastShoe who the crap cares who it benefits more.. I just want to be able and continue to watch what is going on.
It is only for a few seconds.. but I just don't like how it snaps back to having to watch it... especially if I was just about to see someone be eaten by the entity. I miss the show... cause the game wants to so me i died once again... like I haven't see that a hundred times.
-
My bum has a crack in it.
-
I doubt the release date is June 18th... It will probably be the 25th now. There is a verification process I believe on consoles which could take a bit (not 100% on that, but this is what I've gathered from previous updates).
I don't think they would have time to allow people to test the new changes and still make the release date of June 18th on all platforms. PC yeah.. but not consoles.
-
I personally don't know how anyone can play any match without either WGLF or BBQ.
I personally will level up a killer and not play them until I've gotten BBQ rank 3. As for survivor... I find getting the WGLF stacks a bit harder so it isn't a huge deal not to have it, but all the extra points you can get on a survivor the better.
When I level up a killer and don't play them until I get BBQ, i usually will end up with a bunch of puddings and a few BPS when I start playing them. This helps allot as you can get up to 60K + per match with average effort.
-
@AStupidMonkeyy to a certain point... not the part when the entity starts to grab you and take you away.
-
I'd combine the new Freddy rework power of teleportation to gens with HillBilly's chainsaw.
-
t bagging is not harassment...
-
This post is about Streamers and / or Fog Whispers using their contacts in BHVR to circumvent the reporting process when we've been told everyone is treated the same and expected to follow the same rules.
Even though the BHVR employee told the streamer to use the proper channels, it was the act of trying it in the first place thinking they are above everyone else.
If they were properly informed that they are expect to follow the same procedures as everyone else, that would not have happened.
Peanits cleared it up publicly so at least now people have a reference and reassurance they will be treated fairly should another Streamer or Fog Whisper try to get them banned.
-
@Vlieger that situation about trying to circumvent the reporting process I've seen on other streamers streams.
Them.. being Fog Whispers. If they were informed they have to follow the rules like everyone else, then that wouldn't have happened.
-
Then BHVR should be informing them of that.
That was very disheartening to see and hear.
@se05239 they see everything. It really is up to them if they acknowledge it or not.
-
I watched that clip of the match.
What I stated in my previous posts is about players taking things too far to where it is seen as a problem, like what peanits states as griefing, still holds to my beliefs in this game.
With that said after seeing that match.... I personally don't think that Doc players was doing anything but playing to win. That match took awhile, but it wasn't, in my view a "hostage" situation.
I think what is shown in that clip raises another issue that the community should be concerned about...
How come she can message a BHVR employee directly to get someone banned right away? Why is she allowed to circumvent the reporting process?
I don't think that is fair when we are told streamers and fog whispers are kept to the same standard of rules like everyone else.
Why are they allowed to be the judge and jury on you being banned?
--
I have nothing against the streamer, as I've seen that "report" techniques used in other streams.
I personally think that action from the streamer crossed the line and should not be allowed. As a long time player I feel everyone in this game should be treated the same.
Streamers should be following the same process as everyone else.
-
So.... this is a novel, but I want to raise a concern that can effect every player.
--
There was this discussion about a Doc holding the game hostage and if that player should be banned for what they did.
Here is the discussion
Here is the match
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/437895713
It starts about 20 minutes in... Goes on for a good 30+ minutes.
---
I watched that match... In the discussion thread, I believe in the "players can take things too far and grief people, and that should be bannable." However that match... I don't personally believe that killer was trying to grief those survivors. I believe they just wanted to win so bad... just like how killers slug the 3rd to secure the 4K.
Long match... yes. But that Doc was still chasing and hitting and when downed someone hooked them.
It basically looked to me as they were just try harding to win.
--
With that said... I'm just a player and not part of the company in any way. Therefore my judgement on determining if that player should be banned, is not my call. The only thing I could do is, record the match and report the player and follow up with a recording.
--
My concern now is, that streamer was calling for that player to be banned 15 minutes before that streamer disconnected.
The streamer was trying to message someone from the company to get that player banned right away.
At what point are Streamers the judge in jury in getting people banned from this game?
At what point did BHVR mention that a Streamer can message one of them directly, to get another player banned WITHOUT following the correct rules of reporting another player and allow for the accused to get due process, to be treated fairly?
I've noticed this before on another streamers channel, where a employee of BHVR is messaged to get someone banned right away.
I can understand some situations can be pretty black and white, where a player is tossing out racial and homophobic slurs in the end game chat.
However, in grey areas such as that match, how come that streamer can pass the judgement that another player should be banned? Immediately?
This is very concerning to me as a long time player.
What are your thoughts on BHVR allowing this situation to happen? What would have happened if that employee was contacted and then banned the killer for playing? Do you think that is fair?
--
I don't.
TLDR;
Streamers should be expected to follow the same rules as everyone else. This is what we have been told. I don't think streamers at any point should be judge and jury on YOUR playstyle and ask / expect you to be banned for it.
If a streamer thinks you violated the rules, they SHOULD be expected to follow the same procedures as everyone else and not circumvent them.
--
That is my piece.
-
@Dr_Loomis to me it felt like... it would track partial heals during the match.. but once the match was over, any partial healing you had racked up wouldn't carry over to the next match.
yee.. I play on PC.
-
I used No Mither, Empathy, We're Gonna Make It.. the 3rd one I switch around with Deliverance and Resilience.
I then took in a Brown Medkit with either a needle or septic in it. To get those instant heals.
The needle would only give me one point even if they where on the floor, but at least it was an instant one.
And for some reason I felt like I had to do 51.. not 50... cause when I got to 50 it didn't give me the achv until I did one more. My profile showed I had 50 but the bar wasn't at 100%.
I believe they needed to be complete heals too. My feeling was they needed to be, since it took so long to get 10 before I switch to this build.
You'll get credit for healing people out of Deep Wound too.
Sometimes I could get about 6 or 8 in a match.
-
take a medkit in... don't need self care anymore.
you'll be happy you freed the slot up. I find empathy better myself.
-
The generators are turning into a secondary objective now.
With the hatch spawning when only one survivor is left, there is no more point in doing gens unless you want the 5K bp.
Go for saves all the time.. try to get those points.... hit some totem.. worry about gens last since there isn't much point in doing them other than for some extra points.
-
i have a bit of an issue with what you say cause...
In the olden days before EGC... 4 gens done... hatch is open.. one survivor who is very good... and newish killer player... So the argument of that good survivor hiding around the map for 20+ minutes.... That survivor could use the argument that...
"Hey I was lookin for the hatch that whole time.. the killer kept patrolling near it... and the remaining gens.. it was bad RNG.. so it took me over 20 minutes to get out..."
But that killer player would be upset feeling they were being held hostage. How do you know that survivor is lying or not?
Thus EGC is born.
--
Now you have another situation where a triangle of gens is formed at the end on a the Doc who can stand in the middle of the triangle and prevent survivors from working on any gen for any considerable length of time... Doesn't bother to chase... No commitment to killing the remaining survivors... Maybe there is only 2 survivors left...
Doc keeps that up for 20 + minutes...
But yes.. that is ALL the survivors fault for maneuvering the match into that direction.
Just like how the previous example of the killer maneuvering the end of the match to one skilled survivor who slinks around the map for 20+ minutes. The killer was supposed to let them go right?.. to prevent the "holding hostage" of the end game.
-
They do it sometimes... Cause they can.
So at what point do you draw the line on that #########?
--
We call all tout the "use this strategy against this situation"... and cause you didn't, you failed.. and it is your fault.
They are comparable... because it is a situation of taking things too far. That is the issue at hand.
-
Not everyone is high skill level... not everyone understands what to do there.
If you have a killer who is normally playing at high ranks who gets a bunch of low ranked survivors cause of match making, that killer can keep them there forever. Why cause they can.
Sure... blame the survivor for not understanding how to deal with it.
You could also blame the killer for not seeing the difference in skill levels, and just deciding to commit to the chase and take some risk. If you can't see or determine skill levels on survivors as killer, then... they too are a low skilled player.
--
But of course... gotta protect the killers right to kill everyone in the match.. even if they decide to take 30 minutes in doing it. /s
--
It is easy to point the finger at one side or the other.. but really like what is mentioned above it is the Developers that allow it to happen. So should they not drawn the line?... I think they should.
The killer shouldn't be allowed to sit there and keep the survivors off the gens just cause they can.
Just like a sole survivor wasn't allowed to stay in the end of a match and play stealth against a killer for 20 plus minutes... cause they can. The exits were open.. the killer could still find and kill the survivor... but... now we have the EGC... a line was drawn.
--
Just cause people can do it... doesn't mean it should be allowed to continue forever.
The killer also has some responsibility to think and not be a mindless robot in the pursuit of their 4K.
-
First time a perk shows up in the shrine it is 2700 shards... then every time after that it will be 2000 shard.
-
I like how people are so firm in their... NOT and IS arguments.. which is funny.
The Devs stated long ago, eventually the killer has to commit to a chase, and if they don't and stick on the gens... well... A line has to be drawn. Is it fair or not?... If the survivors are giving the Killer a chance to commit and the killer won't take it?
I don't know about everyone else, but that seems like a complete waste of time. Why was the EGC put in place?... Ahhh yes.. to prevent players from stealthing all over the map for 20 plus minutes... However that survivor could be legitimately trying to escape....
A line has to be drawn... Blame the Devs for allow the situation.. sure.. but they too can also draw the line.
Fog Whispers should not be above the rules. They shouldn't be allowed to cross the lines that get drawn by the Developers on everyone else. They want to entertain but they shouldn't really be doing it at the expense of the other players in the match.
-
@shalo means nothing as you don't show your results which leads to a misleading conclusion.
You could have killed 2 in each match which would mean what?... You played at an average level.
You could have killed none but still walked out with over 20K bp before bonus.
Poor match making could have created that situation aswell with all solo players.
-
@Nikkiwhat with the Trapper traps... You have to pick the survivor out of them for it to count... if you hit them.. it won't work. Just run up and grab them out of the trap.
Legion's is super easy now.. just put Deep Wound on a survivor.. break FF then chase them and down them... that is it.
-
I don't know why people play with alts... the grind is so brutal.. seems like a waste of effort splitting it up across multiple accounts.
just play like ######### and you stay where you are.. simple.
-
LOL.... OP gets jailed about 3 minutes after making their post.
its ok...
-
yeee.. black box I think.. addon for freddy.. you are the obsession.
-
@javimasilla I thought that one was gonna be a tough one... I only had to get 20 but I'll tell you how I did it.
You sort of have to farm the survivors.... but you don't really HAVE to farm... you pretend to.
I just found a spot in the map where I could throw long shots, and near a locker and just kept throwing them down.. eventually the survivors come over and think you are doing a daily... I found they usually would stay far back as they don't know exactly what you are doing.... and you can pick them off that way, let them heal.. then keep doing it... I could get about 5 to 8 in a match.
Then when you get 2 or 3 down.. move in and start hooking them... move onto the next match. Didn't work every match but it only took me about 5 matches once I started doing it this way.
-
Allow the entity to kill a 100 survivors during the End Game Challenge.
-
@Traslogan That last post you made shows why you won't be taken seriously.
The part about... "here's a new one for you: The game has started placing SWF teams together in front of my hex ruin..."
You are blatantly just throwing stuff out there to see if anything sticks, which discredits anything you've mentioned above about your stat tracking on your lobbies.
Since it shows you'll make up whatever information you want to twist it into your argument.
-
The new match making was put in awhile ago... They changed it so you wouldn't even tell when they turned it back on, however it was mentioned on one of their streams is was now live.. which was a few weeks ago at least.
-
Yeah celebrate real serial killers.... Good idea.
Why not add in those who commit mass shootings and stuff too.
-
No dev response yet?... I wonder why.. LOL.
Maybe they will show you some pity and acknowledge you soon.
-
@Huntar Nah I'm not. I'm not your research assistant when you can search that 3rd party info and find it within a few minutes. I don't need to do your work for you, don't be lazy.
I've been here since these forums started and when the steam forums started. I've been here over 3 years now.
I love when new people come in and throw something out there and feel like they are a genius and found some sort of loop hole or "I gotcha moment".
However they fail to see this game has a 3 year old player base and no body in that time hasn't done the same. Especially when those rules were made and put out.
You don't think people having not been complaining about SWF and VOIP combo?
--
Nothing wrong with people putting in complaints about SWF... But remember... The party started 3 years ago. Remember, you are late to the party so try to bring something new to the table or you'll be reminded others have already stood where you are with the same arguments.
That link.. That says most of it there.
--
Do you see a response from a Dev yet?... Do you see them talking on any of the other SWF and VOIP complaint related posts here?... Cause they are constantly repeating themselves over and over.
Learn the history of SWF please.
-
I love that people still use that 3rd party rule to call people cheaters, etc... or use it to defend their argument.
They spend all the time looking up information about SWF to use in their arguments but never bother to look up BHVR response to that rule and how VOIP pertains to that rule.
That rule was not made with VOIP being considered a 3rd party tool. That rule doesn't apply to VOIP.
Sorry.
