Weird... I wonder if this happens more in the higher ranks.
I've been playing killer more and I don't see the disconnects that much. I get them the odd time but not that much.
I play around the rank 14 and 13 area.. so I'm not squeezing a turd out every match which might be the reason higher ranks are ditching more often.

I would agree to certain parts of your post, but you go at it in such a hypocritical approach that I can't stop laughing on how much of a joke this is.

Emblems = Play the style the Devs want you to play.
Don't play their way you didn't play in a manner they deem worthy enough to rank up.
At what point will people figure out it isn't about being the best but being able to pull of the style the Devs want you to play.
If you are too good then you should be good enough to allow room and still close the door shut on them.
Call it farming or whatever you want.. but if you go around killing new players all the time you are not making it any fun for them. So why the hell do the Devs want to reward you for that?

I'll add in my theory crafting here on this subject...
EAC is a client of DBD.
There are allot of people doing what you asked about. Including streamers.
I doubt EAC would ever start banning on those specific files, since this would automatically ban a big group of people. This would create a customer service nightmare for their client.
Most likely what would happen is EAC would say to BHVR, "We need to start monitoring these files, give a heads up to your community, cause on this date we will start banning for it."

My theory and I'm sticking too it.
The nightmare it could cause might push a big portion of the community away in one foul swoop.
And if this isn't the case... It would be wise for BHVR to specifically mention this to EAC.

It is because of how they match make. I believe now the new system is in place.
So it basically takes people in buckets of whatever size...
Then it matches a survivor bucket to killer bucket.
That way everyone will eventually get matched up, but not necessarily correctly. Probably depends on the criteria used in creating the buckets.
They removed the edge cases in that everyone will get matched up eventually.

I don't know.. I stopped giving a crap in this game in terms of "succeeding".
I get into a match... If I feel like they already are hammering out a "win" on me, I usually just decide to run around the map looking for something to do. Try out different ideas on chasing the survivors.. experiment a bit....
You'd be surprised how you can lure a survivor in without doing anything. Several times I've wiped out a team just by playing in a "off" way.
-- Example... I got one of my best EGCs completed the other day with Huntress.
4 survivors.. I think it was only a 3 man SWF.. 3 had OoO and where watching me right off the start... I went up on a hill and just started throwing axes down a long stretch of the map... After awhile the survivors must have thought I was working on a daily and started letting me hit them way far back... 2 down... 2 injured.... I then moved into start hooking them... I was laughing my head off the whole time as they were caught off guard and started offing themselves on the hooks. Little claudie.. didn't know what I had in store for her as the last one.

Weird... Cause when I play killer... I actually find survivors are rarely disconnecting on me.... even when I've gone full try hard.
Which is odd aswell.. since I've played as survivor and seen disconnects in matches all the time.
I see it more when I play survivor than killer in my experience.

All they need is a sphincter to open up under the killer and then a loud sucking sound and poof there goes the killer.
Then the sphincter squeezes a little toot out when its done.

You lost me on when you said stop making updates survivor biased.
There is two sides of this game. Maybe play both.
You'd also understand the Devs look at both sides...and adjust both sides. Doesn't matter if they tweak one side more then the other. It isn't a tit4tat situation. They look at the overall picture.

Hard to say about moris... i think there is going to be a big change to those separately at some point, but not quite yet.
As for Freddy addons etc.... It is a risk vs reward with leveling him up.
My bet is... After this long with Freddy being the "joke" of the community and killers complaining that BHVR keeps releasing "fun" killers instead of "viable" killers...
We are going to see Freddy as the next high tier killer.
The rework means they probably have reworked all his addons.. so like the Wraith, when that happened. The Wraith had a few crappy addons that all of a sudden became some of the best ones.
So I think the same thing will happen with Freddy.
I've been dumping all my points into him myself getting him all the cheap addons.. in the hopes some of them will be "OP" and I'll have a hundred of them.

I wish they would provide more info on how many are playing killer... survivor etc.
Weird why we just see a doubling in the pop... but yet it takes about 3 or 4 min to get a killer lobby.

yeah but you have to play to the emblems if you want to pip... The emblems are how BHVR would like you to play against the otherside.
So you didn't play their way properly... so no pip for you.
They give you the choice on how you want to play.. but don't play their way you don't rank up.

I've played them... I've seen them.
While you stand there and stare, I'd move forward to push them the rest of the way out.
If I didn't feel like running to the gates to heard them out.. I'll just wait out the timer.
There is a reason for survivors to actually do what you describe sometimes in the match.
If there is a survivor still out in the map and I'm at the exit gate doing what you describe. It is because I want you to hit me. If you have NOED then it tells everyone... It also shows to the others where you are. As you hit me out the gate.
There is a legit reason to it sometimes.
Otherwise.. if all 4 are in front of you doing it... then just move up take some extra points if they let you hit them... otherwise the waiting is up to you.

hehehe.. these posts are hilarious to read... this is something they think was going to phase out but it will only get worse now with some streamers picking up the mantle and making bits around the EGC.
As people in this post argue about "what taking people hostage in the game" means they miss what the EGC allows for and what it did.
The EGC was to help stop with survivors holding the game hostage which was a legit issue. However another part of that "hostage" scenario was the trolling and "griefing" aspect.
So what ended up happening is now everyone sort of gets some time to troll the otherside. Survivors can still huddle around the exit gate... tbagging and then run out, but only for a short time.
Now killers have the ability to troll survivors by making them part of the Challenge and getting the Entity to eat them at the end.
It is the trolling that the EGC allows for now. The hostage situations are pretty much getting nonexistent. However, trolling is still allowed. You can almost put the trolling into the "griefing" territory but the timer removes it from being too excessive.
The Devs can fix it. There already has been ideas put out to help with massaging the killer to complete the match out normally rather than taking their time and enjoying the Entity.
I personally... Love doing this with Killer now... This is one of my main goals now in the match. I seen a 4 man challenge being completed... and now I want to get one aswell.

They made the EGC really fun for both sides I think... This is the result.

Yeah weird I thought you were complaining about the killer being garbage.. but they killed 3 and then you got hosed for not escaping out the gate... or finding the hatch before the killer.
thought maybe you were complaining everyone escaped because of what you did.. but you still couldn't find the open exit gate and escape.. but nope.

Don't get upset about survivors t-bagging... it really isn't that big of a deal. They can't do it forever anymore so it not that important.

I wonder if it has something to do with them being close to wiggling out.
When you drop them they recover part of their wiggle bar.. so maybe it is when that recovery is applied?
so they may wiggle to 80 or 90 percent then you dropping cause it to fill, and instead of the hitting the ground they escape.
I think that is what could be happening... someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Has nothing about them recording anything... People do need to submit a video on certain report.. which they need to do themselves. I think the PS4 records a certain amount of time of your games, but that is on the PS4 side.
However not all reports will require a video.
They store data about all matches though, and they can flag certain things in the data and then periodically check to see if anyone is violating those rules. But they don't record the games per say.. such as where everyone moves etc..

Intentional game play abuse would be doing something that was exploitative in the game the Devs don't want you to do.. and the killer recorded it on you.
Or... you did something the Devs are watching in their data and you got nabbed.. like the 2 killer exploit is an example.
Basically either you are your nephew went onto youtube.. seen some sort of exploit that would be funny to do in a match and got caught for it.
Whatever it was that either of you two did, I wouldn't be doing it again... cause I'm surprised you only got a temp ban for doing an exploit the Devs don't want you to do.

I doubt any outfits for piggy will be buyable with shards.. shes licensed.. so probably gonna cost cells.
But I could be wrong which would be nice.

Disconnecting wouldn't get you a temp ban, unless you did it allot.
There is a threshold you need to reach before you get temp banned.
People can record their ps4 gameplay and then submit that for review, after they've reported you in game.
I couldn't imagine what it could have been.. but it should tell you the reason once you start the game.

Either they all got into chases with the Killer and got some pallet stuns... or they must of gotten a couple gens done.
Maybe not that rank 20 in the last point scoring.. but... you don't get those scores above 10K without doing something.

@ASpazNamedSteve yeah but you miss out on a huge portion of the chase.
When you one shot they go right down.. not get a sprint burst and then have the ability or chance to waste another minute or so of your time.
So you did half the work.
If one shots get rewarded with doing a same as a 2 shot killer like the Wraith.
Then why bother playing any 2 shot killer other than the nurse?
You'd make it so much easier for one shot killers to rank up... which might not be a bad thing.. but you already have Billy being one of the best killers. Now that would make him even more powerful.
Risk vs Reward.... you don't take the risk, then why should you get rewarded.

I think the experiment was to see how people reacted to not getting to play for a few hours until they could fix it.
This is part of the disaster recovery testing of the dedicated servers.

Will have to wait for a mod to help or check in the technical support.

That is the whole point though with one shots and the emblems.
Why should you be rewarded for double the work when you've only did half of it?
I love M1 Billy... I play M1 Billy allot... I use my chainsaw the odd time in the match if I want to put on extra pressure if I need it.
But... I don't expect to be rewarded for work I didn't do.
As a M1 Billy... You take the risk by two shotting every survivor.... just like taking in a Wraith.

Achievements hacking is in Valves territory. BHVR doesn't ban for achv hacking. I thought they did, but it was mentioned a couple days a go by a mod. Achvs are Valve's issue to deal with.

ahhh... be careful what you do there... I don't think the Devs care if you make a struggle and wiggle macro as they don't really provide players that much of an "unfair advantage" since you can't go faster than what is intended.
Someone mentioned using a gaming keyboard and mouse.. this is the way to go, since their driver software usually comes with macroing tools.
EAC is what you need to watch out for.
Don't use a 3rd party macro program since EAC might see it and think you are cheating and ban you.
The macros BHVR I believe are worried about the most are those that allow you to farm the game unattended.
...
EAC might be looking for where the Mouse and Keyboard messages are coming from in the messaging pipeline... so if it sees something not coming from your driver software you might have issues with being banned.
