it's already been established it isn't going to hapen or work that killer is way faster, a little faster but not overly no
Established by you. But like I said, Pyramid Head's speed can be worked around. Whether he has a slowdown ability within his terror radius or something else. You don't seem to be familiar with the Silent Hill games, but Pyramid Head has increased speed in the final fight with him in SH2. And his great sword could also be implemented with a counter. As a fan of the Silent Hill franchise, I can assure you Pyramid Head could indeed work.

He is too slow, also that giant machete thing, just wouldn't work.
During the final Pyramid Head encounter in Silent Hill 2, you could tell he moved significantly faster and both PHs were able to catch up to James a lot quicker than normal. In DBD, he'd be like 110 m/s at full speed. Now that's where the great sword could come in, slower movement speed but farther reach when he swings it. I would guess there would be an aim mechanic to it. I just feel like there are ways around it.
Edit: Maybe even introduce a new slowdown effect whenever in Pyramid Head's radius. Something should work
-
Why do you say Pyramid Head wouldn't work? Of course he would
-
It's impossible but I would imagine it would play like Depth, the shark game.

Go up to the gear symbol at the top right corner. Click on view profile. After that, you should see a bright purple button above your avatar that says "change picture." From there you can scroll and choose whatever.

I will not be thankful for overpriced, often disappointing content, thank you very much (i.e. Stranger Things)
Well that's fine, your opinion. I find licensed content to have much more of a positive impact on the game than most originals in more ways than one.
-
@SilentSpectre said:
Please no, the last thing this game needs is more licensed killers.
Disagree. Licensed killers are the reason this game is as popular as it is. You should be thankful even.

I’d rather see their take on Jack the Ripper or maybe Hannibal Lector
Jack has been in Assassin's Creed, Identity V etc. And it feels like DBD is the perfect opportunity to implement Jack The Ripper. This is like his home
-
Cool concept. Do you think any skins of other Xenomorph species could work? Such as the Deacon, Protomorph, or even a Neomorph cosmetic? I know it might change the mori.
-
Would be pretty cool. Outlast is definitely up there for video game chapters they could do. Although Miles' model is kinda headless in Outlast, I'm sure Red Barrels would be willing to help BHVR design a face and head.
-
I think Jack would be neat. If other games like Assassin's Creed Syndicate and even Identity V can have him as a playable character, then he sure as hell can be in DBD. It's only fair for the people who want him and liked playing as him in those games.
-
Jack the Ripper would be amazing
-
@Dr_Loomis said:
Neither.
Jack the Ripper was an actual killer, who whilst has appeared in other games like Assassin's Creed, in my opinion shouldn't be trivialized and used in a game.
Jeepers Creepers should be totally off limits on account of the director's history.
Yeah AC Syndicate and even Identity V which BHVR helped work on. He can be brilliantly incorporated in other games. It's only fair that he gets added to DBD because he would be interesting.

Some of my issues with creepypasta in games come pretty specifically from Legion/Jeff :P My confidence in BHVR isn't always the strongest, and they cited Jeff as an influence - instant red flag. If they took Slenderman and did the research, I'm pretty sure they could make something properly scary and fun to play against - they're unlikely to do so, with the Slenderman Stabbing case resurfacing in the news. My attitude towards creepypastas in games hovers near more specific things, like how SCP get treated - 106 is basically Demogorgon with a rotten smile, and 173/Weeping Angels suffer from Ghostface's PTB problems but worse.
It should be noted that I typically only post here during wait times for matches, so if there's a hint of stress I apologize.
Rake could work, though. I'm not saying creepypasta can't be effective, but the stories and culture around creepypasta are very much geared toward youth and are such a mixed bag in terms of actual creep/scare factor - it's hard to have confidence in BHVR's ability to sift through it all and make a decent contribution to Dead by Buglight.
That's understandable, Jeff definitely feels like Legion which is why I don't particularly care about him. Basically, the few most popular ones can make it in. Ones that have something actually scary to them whether it would be in a specific video game or movie, etc.
-
@ElusivePukka said:
Legion is a discount Ghostface mixed with Jeff the Killer anyway. Some people don't find clowns scary, but coulrophobia is in the top 20 most common phobias.
Slenderman the Trenderman just wants $20, cuz your wife is in the club; he's just too prolific in the meme department. Slenderman himself was scary, but The 8 Pages and Marble Hornets did a little too much 'showing the monster' with the version known as The Operator - the suit with no face, versus the eldritch shapeshifter of the original.
Idc about Jeff the Killer. They can take Slenderman from a point in time where he was scary and DBD can capitalize on that. Relax and chill, mate
-
@ElusivePukka said:
Nope.
Despite outward appearance and some obvious exceptions, this is a horror game, where tension and stress is part of the experience. Creepypasta is rather solidly in the realm of joke fodder, especially Jeff-boi - if you're scared of creepypasta, you're too young to be playing this game.
Subjective argument which makes it your opinion. A lot of Creepypastas, like Slenderman are far scarier than a bunch of punk teenagers in masks or a fat clown.
-
I really like the original concept and I especially like the ones that feature a cyborg/android. With that being said, I think the debut of the first ever robot-like killer MUST be the legendary Terminator. With Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 becoming the T-800 Endoskeleton after 2 gens are done.
-
It's hard to chose between Pyramid Head and Chris Walker
-
Killers like Jack Torrance and Negan would be a great addition
-
Terminator had horror elements and vibes. That would make him fit in DBD. So it would be cool to see the T-800. He would have a lot of potential for cosmetics too.
A little idea i had for Terminator is this. You get to play as Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 until 2 gens are completed. After that, he sets the ground around him on fire, burning off his flesh and becoming the T-800 endo-skeleton. I would imagine you get some buffs while in the endo-skeleton mode.

Pennywise would be awesome or maybe a Victorian Era killer based off of Jack the Ripper. It would be amazing to run around killing survivors dressed in Victorian attire. Maybe we could get a Jack the Ripper cosmetic in the future devs. Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge.
Jack the Ripper is an idea I've been backing up for as long as I can remember. They have him in Identity V and other games, so he'd be pretty cool in DBD cuz he fits.
-
..Or The Terminator T-800
-
Outlast 1 and Chris Walker for me. Imo, Outlast 2 wasn't as good as the OG
-
I love it. When you hear the roar, you know you're facing a monster
-
I was actually thinking about how she would be in a full chapter with Terminator as a killer
-
I loved Scary Movie but for this game, the wazzzup mask is a nah from me. No matter how you put it, it just feels out of place in DBD. Just my personal opinion, I wouldn't be upset if it happened.

Terminator is not fitting for DBD. DBD is for horror. The day it brings in ######### like Terminator I'm gone for good. I bet a lot will be.
"I'm gone for good"
If I had a dime for every time I heard something similar to that for Ghostface, Stranger Things, Pennywise etc, I'd be pretty rich. Terminator has horror vibes to it. That's all DBD requires. I say bring on the T-800.
-
Doesn't even have to be standalone. Terminator T-800 would be a great killer for the game. Yes, even in Arnold's likeness. Terminator had horror vibes while it was more of a sci-fi movie. That is enough for DBD.

Yeah I've seen neither. Jeepers creepers once waaaaay back. Genuinely thought candyman was his "name".
I'm just a ######### idiot is all. Carey on. Hype train for candyman!
Oh ok, as soon as you realized, I replied. You were fast

They do not and said they will not work with him.
Nothing to do with the character, but its 99% not gonna happen.
Lol that's for Jeepers Creepers though. OP said Candyman which has nothing to do with Victor Salva
-
Where is 2003 TCM remake skin? My favorite personally. Makes him look very terrifying.
-
It could be any model. Lore would be something like the Entity interrupting the Terminator's time travel and reprogramming it. Now, the Terminator's mission isn't the one given to it by SkyNet, but rather by the Entity which the Terminator must obey now. A new mission.
-
Nah, screw standalone. Negan from Season 7 as killer
-
This thread is the reason stuff like this will never happen.

What’s neegans power.
They could think of something. I was thinking maybe something with tracking survivors with anyone who hears his whistling (terror radius), a berserker rage of some kind, maybe even getting random buffs the more pallets you take as stuns or something, etc, etc.
-
I hope it's not the next one. I wanna have Negan as a killer as well as a survivor (Rick probs)

The guy with the safe head (Can't remember his name) from evil within would be perfect for dbd.
Oh yeah, The Keeper. Forgot about him. He would be cool too.
-
Pyramid Head from Silent Hill, Chris Walker from Outlast and one of the tyrants from Resident Evil would be my top choices.
-
Better off as the killer. Entity could just pick him up right from when he was evil. And his mori would be insane. The "taking it like a champ" one. Should be one of DBD's way of introducing a cutscene mori.
-
Glad you went for Chris Walker and Outlast 1. Best part about the franchise imo. Pyramid Head and the RE tyrants would be great too.

@Sickerton said:
The Entity seems to behave more on the terms of a Lovecraftian entity than a straightforward presence; Essentially all-powerful on it's own turf, but so foreign in nature to our own reality that it serves as a barrier the Entity can only prod and poke at at best. And since that barrier seems to grow stronger or weaker based on emotions present, it's relative power outside its realm is more fluid akin to Freddy Krueger/Pennywise then a single metric. It's closest comparison in the realm of comics would probably be Mister Mxyzptlk; Operating on terms completely different from the norm, and simultaneously both far stronger and far weaker from it.
Like, could Superman punch the Entity into submission if it partially manifested in Metropolis? Almost certainly not. But he'd have a chance at forcing it to retreat back to its own realm by being a beacon of hope and unbreakable resolve. Key word being "Unbreakable" here, if the Entity could get his resolve to falter those emotions would be fuel instead of a defense.
The best response team to send against it would actually be -- I am not kidding here -- the Care Bears. Starve it of violence and hate, kill it with kindness. Laser beam kindness.
What a great explanation. Thank you. I have thought about this idea and it makes a great deal of sense while also maintaining complexity. The notion that it acts more like a powerful being that feeds on emotion to keep its power over the realms it controls rather than being a physical presence on a universal or multiversal ( Marvel/DC cosmic beings of different levels) scale does connect the dots to the lore pretty well.

But the Jack the Ripper case wasn't recent history and more to point we still don't know for definite who did those murders.
Yep, that's right. I personally think a Victorian era chapter would be cool.
-
@Dr_Loomis said:
It won't happen obviously, but the worst would be any killer based on an ACTUAL killer. And I don't mean influenced like LeatherFace and Ed Gein, I mean things like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (which whilst had an altered story, was based on Henry Lee Lucas and featured characters based on real-life individuals). But yeah, that's the worst inclusion that thankfully will not happen.
The only thing close to that which I could definitely see working is a killer inspired by Jack the Ripper. And that's it. Identity V and other games showed that it could work and be liked by the fans.

@HatCreature said:
But they made 3 movies with Herbert, the last one being in 2003, the film studio must at least have them.
Herbert West would be an interesting Killer tbh, he isn't a malicious evil person, just obsessed with his work.
The film studio has the rights to the film only and likenesses. But they don't have rights to any of the characters involved created by H.P. Lovecraft. So for example, Herbert West and The Re-Animator. They will always remain public domain since the author died before the introduction of the modern copyright law.
I would like him more as a survivor to tell you the truth.

That would be very cool. Maybe a Jack the Ripper themed killer to go with it.
Absolutely. I think a killer inspired by Jack the Ripper would fit well. Other games like Identity V have shown that.
-
For me, it would be "HERE'S JOHNNY"
-
One of my most wanted chapters is The Shining. But the next chapter isn't suppose to have a map and I think the Overlook Hotel is pretty memorable. So idk.
