I understand that it's time consuming, but I think if you have enough material to report a player for griefing or cheating, you should go for it. You'd be doing us legit players a solid in making the game healthier, one troll at a time. =)

i mean if i have the material i would go for it i guess. But i dont have it most of the time cuz i am no streamer. I do have recorded like 2 matches, 1 for a streamer who does give you advice and typs, pointing out where you made mistakes if you send them your vod. And the other one for a friend because of the Masquerade event.

  • i mean the 90 seconds are there for a reason, this would only be a buff again to swf. Unlike you mean no matter how many people work on the same gen, they take either equally long. Which would then make people just spread gens. It would shift but i dont think it would change that much.

Uploading on youtube is honestly not that long, I feel I lost much more time when I had to edit the correct part of the game out of a 2h stream (by chance or stupidity, the guy who griefed me did it while on stream and I could recover the VOD).

But yes, it's silly how many hoops people have to jump through to get a report haha !

its the hdd part that gets me impatient about it. But my impatience generally does let me hesitate towards bothering reports in the first place.

You don’t know the game if this is truly your opinion. Non-nurse, blight killers get mud stomped in a competitive setting, and there’s ample video footage to show this. Your comment about “getting better” is also bizarre because there isn’t much to do as killer other than learn how to play tiles and structures. The main problem with killer is that it is too limited, which is also why Nurse is the best, because she is the only one who can overcome killer limitations.

we could apply the "getting better" mindset to the revert situation too. You just need to learn how to avoid being hit by nurse. ;)

  • @HugTheHag said:

The file is likely too big to be uploaded.

What you can do is upload it to youtube and then put the link in the report's description. It worked for me when I had something to report :)

kinda shame players have to go through so many ways just to report someone. You know how long it takes to upload a video on youtube?

Or couldnt be that maybe those two are a bit op?

Just saying, because i can give trapper the power to go through walls like blinking lady and he would go A tier at least instantly.

Or i can give the hooded sonic's speed to ghostface and he would murder most people.

it wouldnt change, nerf them, they are still the best. Make them trash, no killers in highest mmr lobbys anymore.

  • @Rovend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3263345#Comment_3263345

Why would you take time mastering a normal killer when you have blinking lady ignoring half the rules of the game and hooded sonic doing 360 in loops and controling 4 gens in one rush

exactly, so the solution would be buff all killers expect nurse and blight. Then you have variation in all mmr levels.

Thats ok - you shouldn´t care more than you have to - mainly reading stupid chats. Everybody has an opinion.

And yes, idiots are everywhere and not limited to anything.

Respect is a good thing and should always be. Like a litte empathy. With that a lot of bad things wouldn´t happen.

Always treat others like you want to be treated. Should be obvious but is sadly not.

i mean trying to excuse things doesnt make it better either

    they are

its just people dont like putting in the effort to learn a new killer who wont yield the same results right away and is punished more for their mistakes

lmao people dont like putting in the effort to learn new killers they wouldnt even play killer in the first place. I play all the various killers, except from maybe 4 or 5 (one of which includes nurse.) But i never will compete in higher mmr lobbys which is fine by me, because i switch so mutch between killers i will not get to the deepest depths of skills from the more complicated ones. Blight slide techs or exact knowledge of nemesis hitboxes. Not to mention Huntress and her hatchets. For some it takes a couple of rounds to get used again, with other killers i will just never get a pro.

I know it doesnt fit the narrative but its just that nurse and blight are the most rewarding killers and players on highest MMR are indeed the dedicated ones. They aint like me, who play for just variation and challenges, they play to win, to get 4k. That is their target. And if nurse provides the best solution to this its no wonder nurse gets picked more by the pro players.

if all the others could reach a simmilar skill reward then you would have more variation. So if you would ask for anything to get variation is buff the weaker killers rather than nerf one or 2. Cause the pro players will just adapt to the changes, it will only make casuals even more hesitant towards playing nurse.

    They won´t eye to eye.

That is the point of todays internet generation.

We had this discussion already a long time ago.

I played "real" sport in school. You lost and won sometimes. Ok. You had to learn to lose and not freak out - it is called sportsmanship. If somebody freaked out after losing you called him a bad loser and would make fun about him - so you learn that this is not ok.

Nowadays a lot of kids only play online games with a chat. There is no real person, only chat.

You don´t learn to deal with a loss really imo. You may think you r great and some somebody destroys u and makes fun of u on top of that.

And you only can write something to an unknown person, or can´t answer at all.

Can be pretty frustrating. And it adds up until the salt and toxicity gets even bigger - sometimes, not always.

But so are things these days. I have no good solution for this.

and why should i care if they never learned to "handle loss" ? if they go theyre way to make death threats they are pure trash in my eyes. They have no spine. And its not only "kids" or "todays generation" which im a part of btw. Its grown up adults, bald men with bushy beards who cry like little girls when something doesnt go their way.

I actually hate people like them.

  • if just all the other killers were strong enough for those high up mmr lobbys....

  • @Marc_123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3263337#Comment_3263337

    I think u don´t got it.

People writing these things are just idiots. If he doesn´t write it in chat he still thinks the same. Btw this might just be reportable as death threats are of course not ok.

But do u really think he will track him down and use a sword? I don´t think so. Maybe he is 12.

its about respect, not if its going to happen or not. I dont care nothing what people think as long as they have the self control to shut up about it. Getting threats over a game is ridicilous, would love to see those loud mouths talking to someone like that from eye to eye.

  • @Marc_123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3263284#Comment_3263284

Toxicity is a personal thing. You won´t change that.

I am old enough - i can handle even a lot of losses in a row without writing stupid stuff. (even if i don´t like it as well)

But people will always say dumb things, or hate you, or be toxic.

Censoring also doesn´t change that. Today a lot of people are used to everything being censored so that you "think" everything is fine.

But in reality it isn´t. Better learn to deal with this. It is better in the long run.

oh so because people will do it anyways we should just accept having death threats just because we play something some looser doesnt like. Got u.

  • @Marc_123 said:

    Nurse games are mostly horrible.

So i would not expect people to be polite. And i guess every Nurse players knows this very well.

so you litteraly justify toxicy over someone playing a certain character in a game?

  • @Tsulan said:

Whats wrong with people having a crush on a video game chars? There are people that have crushs over comic chars and there are people that have crushs on book based chars. So i really don´t see an issue here. People have different tastes and are free to like what they want.

i agree on that! (i do simp for jake, leon and trickster btw) but i dont think this post is about judgeing people, more so analyzing if BHVRs main reason for certain looks is especcially that. Which i dont believe it is.

  • I have started a discussion about how Vittorios outfit doesnt match his lore. All though i think hes a cool guy and he looks cool. (not me drooling over but rather like i would love to run out motorcycling with him and spend one or 2 drinks, especcially since he is way older than me and i might learn some valuable lessons) But aside from that i dont think it fits yeah.

but i also have never heard something so ridicilous XD i didnt even know that its this big of a debate, like i dont believe bhvr choose him to look that way because of sex appeal. Maybe its a factor but for sure not the main reason. And if you look at all the survivors, ALL of them look better than your average normal real life person. Or "better" in term of no pimples, most being young etc. Thats just general media wanting to look things fashion and beauty, you have that in other games and movies too.

Edit: also Haddie does look quite attractive to me. She failes more of the lack of existing cosmetics and how i am alredy maining 6 survivors and have to do a LOT of lvl up so they get all the perks.

I'm that one type of killer that thinks that kicking gens is a waste of time, I'd rather run the no-effort regressions like Pain Res or Jolt, since i play super low tier killers and every second counts, can't waste it on kicking, because by the time I get to kick one gen, two of them will pop.

So i'm one of those that render Blast mine useless xD i'm sorry

your fine its a legit playstyle XD i just thought it would work like every game multiple times because i myself do kick gens alot.

Its not even only about regression, though i use call of brine. When i kick gens anyway i might aswell have a perk for it. But the bloodpoints man XD also the sound of kicking gens, when they krack, its so satisfying, more than the sound of hitting a survivor!

And I am always amazed how people still expect to be treated with regular respect and not being attacked for liking a certain thing. Reread your original comment and maybe pay attention to your tone. You might notice why your comment wasn't so well received, then.

No one says that Nurse has no issues, everyone knows that, but playing a certain killer or survivor shouldn't give you a blanc card to disrespect anyone.

But that might just be my old school two cents. Times are changing, I heared.

i mean im a youngster and i weight respect VERY high. Like i dont even accept regular jokes about me, thats just a no go. Im quite humorous and i have a good reputation around my friends. I just dont like jokes against my persona. And then there is complete strangers, abusing the safety that anonymity provides them and talking like that.. I will never understand it.

I was taught respect was earned. You want to play a broken killer go for it, just don't expect people to be happy about it.

people dont need to be "happy about it" but they should not like use death threats or highly toxic insults. Its a GAME. Its not real man!

  • @Regulus47 said:

I mean you are playing nurse. It's like kickin a hornet nest and crying that you got stung. Like you wouldn't expect people to roll over and compliment you if you played basement bubba or blight with slowdown or addons, or slugging twins. That's ridiculous, and nurse is the same way. Plus, you're running double recharge which makes nurse even more OP.

If you don't want to get called out for going on a power fantasy with the most busted toxic killer in the game and ruining 4 other people's games and wasting their time, maybe play someone else.

or maybe yall should remind yourself its a game. And between using stuff that is provided ingame or wishing people death threats over it i think any sane person can agree on what is worse.

  • @th3syst3m said:

That's a little much? I've seen way worse, I wouldn't give that a second thought. But just to correct you it's not an ego issue, it's a fair game issue. Also Nurse players by far have the biggest egos. I don't know why but they think playing a broken killer and winning most their matches make them amazing.

    imagine defending toxicy....

I kick gens a lot (Overcharge is my go-to slowdown), and I can remember at least one game where I got blast mined 4 times (and Red Herring'd once) by the same player. It was ridiculous and honestly quite fun !

Hope you get more gen kicking next time you have one of those challenges !

4 times!! dayum that player did a lot of gens XD because it takes quite a while to load up. But thanks =)

  • I gotta say deliverance works quite often for me. Sure its a luck based one but i guess im just very lucky with it..

My nemesesses or how the plural is called are:

NOED!!! -> the most important one. I always say its a baby killer perk because as soon as you reach the softcap either they alredy have all totems Cleansed/destroyed or as soon as noed activates they find it litteraly 10 seconds later. And it doesnt even help you during game, its pure endgame. But i have the same issiue with all the hexes. Aside from maybe 3. (Undying, Blood favour, Pentimento)

Blast mine. -> "Stun the killer x times" challenges. Most of the time they dodge pallets like gods when i throw them, surely i just need more practice. But blast mine is like a joker card to me, if it only would work out more than all 5 games once. x.x Really am i the only killer that kicks gens regularly?? At least its slow progress, better than none.

Spine chill -> I cant look at 3 diffrent things the same time. I gotta be aware for skillchecks when working on a gen, i need to look out for stealth killers, and on top of that.. It does show me when the killer facing my direction no matter how far away. I dont know what to do with that information. Even pre Nerf i couldnt bear with it. Premonition however, makes a sound, procs only when the killer is near you within 36 meters and you know exactly from what angle the killer is coming. So you can evade into the opposite direction.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

They not only take it serious but make their own versions of it. "You only hooked 1 person before you hooked me again! Tunneler!" Or they won't even have a coherent argument, and will just insult, no matter the perks, add-ons, or killer. "Wow, you really had to play like a jerk?" They mean playing to win.

And the fake virtue signaling/talks of "sportsmanship" are another new and underrated topic. They won't say it outright, but they'll literally ask you to play badly so that the other team has greater chance of winning, "Because that's being a good sport!" It's so cringe. In reality, sportsmanship is simply playing well without BMing or rubbing it in, something most of the players on this game are incapable of, and yet they're the ones who subscribe to this fake "play bad for my fun" sportsmanship.

100% agree with you!. Best answer to this is to play as rutheless as possible. I dont even try to argue with them anymore. Had a EGC today where i got shamed for "tunneling" (word is made up btw and doesnt even exist in the dictionary XD ) I told them basicly that i dont play by their rulebook and how i will play to my own interest and my own fun, that i really dont care how salty it makes them. Then one asked me "do you think we dont want to have fun too?" and i answered again with "well i dont care if it is fun to you, it was fun for me because i did get my challenge done." They didnt respond afterwards.

That's the entire point... it turns into a vicious cycle once people start the discussion about any of what I put

Do you play to complete all Gens before the Killer can down and hook another Survivor.... And do you play to Kill at least one Survivor before the first Gen is done (I am assuming that you play both sides)

i mean i certainly are not that player that helps to de-toxicate stuff. I will shamelessly take advantage of situations while playing on both sides. I do have occasions where i think of playing nice, gave 2 people the exit gate and farmed with them today as ghostface, even met one of them 2 rounds later again. On the same map even but as a diffrent killer. But then im just happy with what i got. Most of the time i just do care about my challenges and earning much bloodpoints and nothing else.

As a survivor i too gave a killer the 1k at least when we litteraly even in SoloQ stomped them. But that is just as rare.

  • Basement bubba only works because so many survivors feed them actually. Whenever i face a basement bubba in soloQ i can bet my motorcycle its gonna end up on a 4k when im the one camped. And i would win a Lambo.

And when i play with my friends i could do the same bet because we dont want him be camped all game or we want just have the game ended fast when its 5 gens left. Because basement campers are unfun.

If people would stop trying to unhook unsafely basement bubbas would be nowhere.

  • they are very creative ideas!

However, i dont see me picking up the second one if it would exist, maybe i highly underestimate it though. And the first one well, even as "killer main" i think that wouldnt be fair. Its a creative one but kinda ivalidates the whole reason lockers exist. Paired with lethal it could be even 5 seconds.

But then again they need to enter the lockers WHILE they are anyway in the TR, which doesnt happen that often.

  • this is the kinda stuff i get whenever i play doctor.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3262583#Comment_3262583

    OK then....

Camping VS. Gen Rushing- Does one lead to the other?

Tunneling VS. Looping- Does one lead to the other?

Gen perks (Both sides)- Does one lead to the other?

Solo VS. SWF- Does one lead to the other?

Looping VS. Mindgames- Does one lead to the other?

Chase perks (Both sides)- Does one lead to the other?

4V1 VS. 1V1V1V1V1- Does one lead to the other?

Entitled Survivors VS. Entitled Killers- Does one lead to the other?

Toxicity on both sides- Does one lead to the other?

That's all I can think of at this point and time....

what was first? the egg or the chicken? XD

  • yes its a very annoying bug currently. Any sacrifices on hook will only count up until the second last survivor is killed.

So right now 4k hook = 3 progression

    3k = 2 progression

2k = 1 progression ( i guess. Not sure of that one but i have experienced the other 2 examples myself.)

  • thats why i usually dont play at night even on weekends.

    BUT!

Tomorrow is the rank reset. Now im at iri 2 on both sides, thats good enough. But in my greedy mind i thought its super neccessary to at least get my bloodpoints to at least 1'900. Which i did, its 1,957 now. I had challenges on the actual rift too, while i did this emblem challenge first on killer which was super hard, i switched to survivor and did it with ease there. But then i equiped the 12 safe unhooks/hooks challenge and it got hard again. 2 rounds 2 unhooks and actually not many things else done. So i switched back to killer again only to have some bad rounds with trickster and dredge. I changed to sadako and had a couple of last sweaty, yet succsesfull rounds and did that challenge too, while also reaching my target for today.

I would call myself the exact same as you, Good, maybe even quite good. But definitly not a pro. And i also experienced longer que times this night (2 or 3 minutes average, while 100% bonus bp.)

TL;DR: i guess night time is just not for average players.

  • @dugman said:

I explore the map, break pallets, and see if I can close the hatch or maybe get lucky occasionally and catch a survivor who forgot where the gate was or something. (It doesn't happen often but once in a blue moon I'll get an extra kill because someone was goofing around far from an exit.)

had a group of highly toxic survivors once, but soloQs. The bill was as anyone else, tbagging like hell. But he kinda forgot to get out since he thought it would be funny to block my pallet. So i acted as if i were especcially stupid and did not hit him, i did fake try to break that pallet wheil he actually just vaulted it. He had only like 10 seconds left and the door was litteraly behind him, but his little nasty game was more important.. And he died to the entity XD

in the endgame chat he was the laughing stock.

  • I either farm or force them out, depending on my mood.

If you dont want to give it to them --> farm. Search for pallets, breakable doors and gain some more bloodpoints, maybe spam your secondary abillity/use teleports while your at it.

If you want it to end fast and just move on to the next match, give them some hits at the exit gate, if you hit its also some more bloodpoints, if not, then they are out anyway.

in both cases you decide what is going on, not them.

  • best ist to dont care. If they dont play right its an ez 4k for you. I dont see why you should feel bad for it, its their fault. They blame you for everything anyway so why care.

But fair enough... I would've probably either missed something or couldn't explain it as well as other could've

    LOL... I doubt it

The vicious cycle has many different points... would you like examples???

i think im fine XD it was just me trying to simplify things.

  • NO!!! noone gets my bloodpoints!

    *add average mr. crabs noise*

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Like I said it's a vicious cycle... so yea

Also it'll be hard to get to the bottom of it... people are people after all

and with that, you maybe just got to the bottom of it XD

  • these are creative! i like them. But i feel like bhvr would not want the bloodpoint bonuses.

Instead of golden or pure evil you could have maybe color changing stuff or special effects like small flames or snowflakes falling or something, black fog would be an idea too. Not too big and impactful, just decent effects. I would appreciate them more than bloody visuals.

  • @Mandy said:

They have been removed - it's part of our bloodweb improvements, so this is not a bug (I will go ahead and respond on the bug report to make it clear there also).

Will definitely be watching for feedback on this - so feel free to let me have it!

i actually kinda miss them, but i might be part of the minority. there is just something satisfying about the gamble of either getting a very rare item or a normal one by opening a mystery box.

but it also isnt that big of a deal.

  • I have learnd that the ranks dont be as rewarding as it is worth sweating for them. Im a casual player (or ok maybe average/good) but certainly not that pro player that reaches rank iri 1 mid of month. Still im on rank iri 2 for survivor and iri 3 i think for killer (maybe iri 2 also, i remember bringing the best to my advantage one game thursday because i was only 1 pip away from iri 2)

You gain bloodpoints so fast, even faster if you do challenges, and reaching gold 4 basicly means just play the game. iri 1 is 500k more than gold 4 is. nice to have but not even that big of a jump to be honest. So for my skill level, its not worth sweating that much for iri 1 when i also can have my challenges in the tome and gain bloodpoints fast by just playing a few matches every evening.

  • i mean either you sweat really hard for that 100 win streak, then its kinda on you that you face sweats now.

or you were in low mmr and just now reached the softcap, which i assure you will get better. I had this experience too, 4k every game as a killer when i was farely new to the game and suddenly i faced hardcore survivors. I almost stoped playing and even started to play more survivor, but eventually my mmr got adjusted backwards and i am now in a position where anything can happen. Between facing comp squads and even getting into a lobby with ACTUALLY new players.

So my advice is just take those steps through mmr hell it needs or just play more survivor until it gets better.

  • @Veinslay said:

My favorites are the killers who like pride themselves on survivors liking them. "I let 2 - 3 survivors go every game and I never run slowdown! All the survivors tell me how much fun it is to play against me!" Of course they like you when you make it easy for them to win lmao

i mean if that is the thing that does bring them joy, then it is fine to me. I dont have to share their habit. It becomes a problem when the same lobby that faced them last game thinks they can expect it from me the next game. or when they act like its not to bad be a "nice killer" like not all of us want to play like that. I myslef care most about my challenges and what i also like is seeing i made just as much, if not more bloodpoints than the survivors i went against, even if it was a 0k.

  • @AverageKateMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3262401#Comment_3262401

Honestly, I respect this stance. I guess my line of reasoning falls along the lines of seeing people basically walk on egg shells the second they boot up the game.

which is something i hope is not the case for many players. I cant imagine that feeling.

  • i mean, while i think it would be nice to face people that are exact equal of my skill more frequently, i dont think its surprising its so rare.

Its the deal of having faster que times for maybe facing players that are above your skill or below. right now, my personal matches are a jump between 0k or 3k/4k. So if i have like 10 games one evening, my normal case is where i get maybe 5 or 6 games that i sacrificed 3 or more survivors, then there is always those 3 or 4 matches i got no sacrifice at all. 2k situations being VERY rare.

i think its not that easy matching players of equal skill.

You're onto something about the streamers. People latch hard onto their ideas and do this thing where they shame others for playing the game or create an echo chamber by trying to seek validation.

ye its basicly herd mentallity. When i first got blamed for tunneling in this game my first thought was "oh its against the rules? Guess im an outfit then, it made me win the game so its fine to me." Just to learn that actually most killers think like me, and i even think, all though a big population the players that actually do care about the rulebook are still the minority. Lets face it, most players do in fact play both sides. It would be like paying full price for the game but only play 50% of it if they didnt. Its again that big, silent majority that just does their thing.

i could be one of those too, but im too concerned about pushing back the idea that you have to follow the "rules". Because there is always people that seek validation as you stated. And at least they deserve the opportuinity to hear both views and decide for themselves.

  • I honestly lost you when you said "dbd mobile". Idk man when i compare my phone with my desktop (or even TV!) i know what i am about to choose.

  • Because somewhere some popular streamers came up with a stupid rulebook, maybe it even started as a meme but now there is actually LOADS of people taking it serious, all though the devs NEVER once said it has to be that way. That is some weird case of "community ethics" that some practice while other people (like me) dont care about them at all. Only thing i do blame is cheating and i think the majority can agree on that.

New players will get responses from others in the EGC or in DMs, about how they are "bad sports" or something. Because of this, people get confused and come here to the forums to ask if this ACTUALLY is a thing, just to see the great divideness again from people that follow the rulebook and people that dont care at all. Beside it being only a game but i guess its easyer to blame your loss at some imaginary rules than on your own skill and mistakes.

Just because something doesnt feel fair it doesnt mean the other player is not allowed to do it, its a pvp game after all.

  • PLEASE for the love of God and for your own sake, NEVER question your own playstyle. They are just bad at loosing so they jump on the blame game because they are salty. You didnt cheat, so your fine.

Killers have various diffrent strategys and you will learn to juggle and adjust your playstyles not only on which killers you might play as but also on what survivors you are facing. And what the situation you are in is giving you. Taking advantage of mistakes the survivors make is all what playing killer is about.

If you face a team of 4 people that perfectly play and never make mistakes you will not get any hooks. If they do a mistake, you will get them. So taking advantage of this just means you play killer normally. If you feel in a good mood and decide to play layed back or want to even give them chances, that is also fine. But it has to be your decision, there is no code how a killer has to play.

  • so you people say eruption is like a second chance perk that does stretch the round longer and gives a buffer to someone who would otherwise loose many progress?

Sounds familliar to so many survivor perks. CoH, DH, DS, Adrenaline, UB. All of which provide things that you wouldnt get away with if you hadnt equiped them.

Thats litteraly what perks are there for, giving advantage. And with proof and genrush meta no wonder almost every killer needs to bring eruption or call of brine or overcharge.

If we have such an issiue with gen regression perks we can add another 10 seconds basic to gens needing be completed, i wont touch soloQ anymore in that case but if that is what all of you players want. Clearly we cant just nerf the very perks that are needed for most killers because then survivor ques will be up to the stars.
