The proposed system encourages slugging for the 4K. It's the only way to secure a finisher mori.
It's slugging at every other stage of the game that it discourages.
exactly, i really dont understand how anyone could possibly come up with a system like that, but appearantly here we are. I also absolutly love the fake argument of "moris used out of spite" on which this whole change is "justifyied"

Funny when Keys are here for aura reading. A key does mean they have no other perk for it so they gonna bring a key with add ons so they can have info. I dont get why you would see that as "selfish" appearantly wanting to have information is selfish i gues.

This is actually nothing new, but the thing with keys has fallen to the wayside in modern times.
Back when the hatchcwould spawn Inc the open and you could unlock it with a key mid-trial (keyword "hatching an escape"), killers would seek out and tunnel keybearers, especially if they noticed a last second item swap.
But nowadays keys pose no actual threat to killers and if someone wants the hatch that badly, they probably have a tome challenge for it.
I know. But that is about game mechanics then. Todays keys are for aura reading only honestly, like ive never seen as a killer nor survivor bring someone a key and hold it for the last trial, as for nowdays use green keys actually are better than any other keys because of the duration.
But like someone else mentioned here: "muuhhh key. Hes gonna be selfish." like thats litteraly not even a thing. When i didnt have aura reveal perks like bond for example i would bring a key to track my teammates in SoloQ. But some dbd players man.. Keys are ALWAYS used by selfish people as moris are ALWAYS used by killers just to be toxic towards specificly them. At least thats how they think it is, being as pitty as possible.
-
Min Feng would sound horrible XD
Yui kimura at least sounds good. Kimura yui wouldnt sound too bad either though.. but "min feng" i dont think so XD
-
It would be nice if it actually did. But appearantly they want to force another PTB on us where people will again probably be highly displeased about the whole idea.
I am concerned, cause people have been saying BHVR did too much work into the system to scrap it completely, when it would be the only reasonable thing to do. Like litteraly almost noone wants it. Glad the bots will be out soon so if UB basekit becomes a thing next year i can just avoid playing online anymore, which would be a shame. But i didnt buy this game to experience swf bully simulator. And my survival rate at soloQ is alredy low, so excited to see even more nurse and campers ending games even earlyer because they can slugg people for over altruistic 3man squads i get paired with.
The far future for dbd does in fact taste bitter, i cant understand why they would go for another PTB about it at all, after all of the responses from the previous one.
-
have you ever fought a dog going for the kill on your throat? thats what it would be agains hag.
i can see where you would believe you could take on one legion member, Pig and ghosty. And if you can dodge things good tricksters bat might not be an issiue.
but you shouldnt be so sure about hag XD

Yeah I rarely see the people using it early these days like old deadhard. Basically hardly ever see the run animation & people always timing it perfectly even when you bait it.
Wonder why people are so much more skillful at using it these days over the old deadhard??? Doesn't take long to figure out that a s**t ton of people are running auto scripts.
auto-deadhard is a thing too.

While I see absolutely no point in playing solely against bots and don't see how that's going to be in any way enjoyable, considering you get no rewards for it, and no sense of achievement, because the bots are too easy to beat.
I do however see a value in them to some extent. For example as a warm up match with a killer I haven't played for a while, etc.
evenings is for online lobbys, but picture this scenario: 2 versions of it.
Pre bots: i want to sleep but i cant, its night and i dont know what to do with myself. Now i can play any game BUT DBD because of the sweatlords out there that play during deep night times.
post bots: same scenario but now i can actually just enjoy some dbd and dont have to worry about depips.
-
bots are gonna be nice.
i hope they buff them a little bit though, just some minor tweaks. It would be gread to be able to choose the cosmetics aswell, i know totally unneccessary but if you alredy have much cosmetics buyed on your survivors why not just let the bots wear them? it would maybe encourage people to buy cosmetics for survs they usually dont really play as. It would me at least.
-
you tell me there is players shaming over others players items now? just when i thought the community cant be more pathetic than i alredy think..
I dont care, anyone has to know themselves what they bring and why they do it. I rarely take any item with me only when i have challenges. "repair 12 generators" -> toolboxes with charge add ons and brand new parts, paired with built to last perk
"heal survivors x times/seconds" -> medkits obviously.
"blind the killer x times" -> flashlight and im using it at pallets.
i used to have maps and keys for aura reading but now that im more experienced (and have more perks for it) i dont really need em.
-
Trickster is my answer to all of these.
better be killed by a good looking guy than by a monster. Not sure about the torture for my screams though XD

Thing with White Glyphs, because they're gone once you complete the challenge, even if you complete the requirements by bringing the Glyph to the basement, you don't want to pass up escaping with the mirror for the extra 25k BP. You won't get that chance again.
So while it's mechanically easier to complete the challenge, I'd still say it's the hardest Glyph challenge to complete fully. You need to ensure an escape route, and have the time and opportunity to run to the glyph, then to the basement and then back to the exit.
its a good thought but also 25k is the same amount you get from level 2 challenges in every tome, which are often easyer.
And im sure there will be more white glyph challenges again in the future, like i have seen them in various tomes by now.

Hey try getting body blocked from another survivor when your trying to unhook someone.....as I said before if the forums themselves are a sample size of the DbD community as a whole VC would be useless because everyone would be turning it off or going with DISCORD friends
ye only people that dont like themselves would expose themselves to stuff like that. Most would mute i think, or turn it off.

White Glyphs are the easiest ones to do. They used to be the worst as you had to escape with them to get credit, but that was changed some time ago. The glyph is always located a short distance from the basement, and there's an icon for it that will be visible to you to find it.
Also, the Blue ones are easy as well. The debuff you get from them only lasts about 60 seconds.
the blue ones sometimes require you to escape though, which is a thing i dont do much XD The effect itself would be no problem to me, if it was not for "... and escape the trial"

I don't. To me it makes perfect sense that killers will tunnel and camp because that is what the game supports and it is the most effective way to win by design.
What I dislike is that this specific strategy has no barrier to entry because it is not gated by perks OR killer powers (obviously some killers excel at camping because of their power) and not even skill (like I said even a newbie player has the ability to do this and the instinct), but to counter it you have to have co-ordination. It frankly asks a lot more on the survivor side than the killer side. If it was more skillful to do perhaps I wouldn't be as bothered since that would mean people who are good at killer can do this and people who are new or bad cannot (like dead hard and flashlights for survivors).
Now keep in mind that this is from a soloq player and not a person playing with SWF and it seems to me from the new chapter that will come out, that BHVR cares more about the game going towards a more team-oriented direction with the new survivor's perk which revolve all around gens and seems to me they are pushing the focus to gens. Now this would be well and good if soloq players had any means to communicate and co-ordinate with each other but currently they don't.
So understand why I am being rather unpleasant. You could say I've been spoiled by League of Legend's available communication even if you don't have voice-chat and seeing DBD being allergic to implementing the bare minimum (like in game chat) strikes me as weird and strange.
It feels like playing soloq you have less agency but more responsibility. Unlike equal responsibility. It's high risk low reward. Your mistakes count a lot more as a soloq survivor and on top of that you can also influence negatively your team by your mistake.
But good decisions don't always guarantee a win even if you have 8 good decision and do 2 mistakes those mistakes can cost you a lot more. So it feels even if individually you do well, you don't have carry potential unless killer is so bad.
And this is also the same way League has evolved over the years. Like back in the earlier seasons some champions could steamroll the other team by themselves, but as years have passed that power has been negated from those champions and it is easier to shut them down now.
As a survivor you can't have such a huge role because there isn't a group of perks that allows you to do so much and your resources are finite. So the more the game lasts the weaker survivors become.
Personally when I play killer and it is rare mind you, I just go for the 3k and don't sweat it and give hatch. For me 3k is a win, perhaps I'd go for 4k if I felt the last survivor didn't deserve it or to challenge myself, so I guess by that I follow the survivor's rulebook since that's probably how survivors would prefer you win as opposed to slugging for the 4k. At the same time I'm not above tunneling or proxy camping (I play Artist so you can't really use her power near a hook anyway). I don't tunnel intentionally yet but if someone unhooks and I'm close and I feel the guy who got unhooked is easier to catch than the unhooker I'll go after them. As for proxy camping I do it near end-game since usually survivors will try to go for the save and you can get a few kills that way. Like I said, I play it rarely so perhaps if I played it as often as survivor I would change my mind who knows.
i play some soloQ too and i too get camped or tunneled sometimes, but more often it is teammates swarming around the killer that causes bad games to happen. Escaping shouldnt be seen as a "must be" condition aswell as not 4k. Im not that one killer main that goes for 4k sluggs but i also dont want to go out my way to make it easy for you.
You say one single mistake can cost you the game, thats the same on killer, while it feels you are DEPENDAND on survivors making mistakes by their own. If they play everything perfect there is nothing you can do, it just is. A killer has to do much more within one trial than a survivor, he has to deal with 4 people doing their objective at the same time, thats the nature of 4v1. So it mindboggles me how people feel to give that 1 guy that plays against 4 all those various so called "rules" to follow.
As i said i only care for the 4k if i have a challenge about it, otherwise the last one can have hatch, i dont even race to find hatch i rather break some pallets or doors and if i happen to find it, i will sure close it. I dont pay mind to when im actually tunneling, i do a lot of "proxy camping" another fancy made up word. Because most killers are not very mobile. You want me to walk with trickster or hag the whole map`? no way im going to do that. I locate my best possible 3-gen and make sure to get rid of pallets around that area early. I will not go out my way to tunnel just you if it doesnt serve me any good but i certainly will not hold back either. I want my points.
I understand that it can feel frustrating, to me survivor feels way easyer because maybe my killer mmr is in a challenging spot. But with how fast the gens blow killers rarely have any other choice than to use some tactics which dont might taste to well for the others. You think getting looped or having gens get finished left and right within the first 2 minutes is fun? You dont hear killers scream "stop looping" do you?
You all need to understand its not something out of spite, we just wanna win man. Like it should be normal, and having so much toxicy thrown at me for play the way i want i got a bit stubborn to change my playstyle, like i rarely play "nice" with survivors. And lastly i got boddyblocked in SoloQ by someone because by their judgement i did nothing the whole time, how so when i was keep getting chased but ofc they didnt see that. Just showed me ,again, its mostly not worth actually care about what others want.
Frustrating rounds do happen, take the L and move on, noone is bound to follow your rules. And the "it doesnt require skill argument" its also not very hard to repair generators as fast as possible, or press a button for dead hard. And the flashlight saves are going to be easyer soon too. Do we now talk about how people should stop using dead hard/ flashlights or even not repair gens fully and stop when they reached 50% for half a minute to make it "nice" for the killer??

Title.
Everyone and their mother uses Eruption now.
It is fine otherwise but the incapacitated lasts way too long and there are no counters (other than being in a SWAT team SWF). As a solo survivor, there is no way to predict or anticipate the effect of this perk (unlike Pain res for example). Also, other survivors do not know if you have the incapacitated effect, which causes miscommunications and frustration (e.g. you cannot heal others and they do not know this).
These kind of perks, where effectiveness of the perk inherently depends on if you play with your friends on comms or not, are fundamentally bad design and something needs to be done to bridge the gap between solo and swf. Nerfing perks like these is a good start.
remove swf would be a good solution

To clarify I only want voice chat for survivors in game. Absolutely not for killers to talk with survivors, that would be toxic af after a match.
i mean survivors are toxic within each other too. Got sandbagged today for "doing nothing" after i got chased left and right around the map and the one time i allow myself to hide somewhere because i was on death hook some rando from a 3-man swf is sandbagging me because apperantly "i just crouched on the hill".
as soloQ your worst enemy is 3man swf, not the killer.

- Toxicity - I don't want to hear all that BS. Not having to is one of the reasons DBD is one of the only multiplayer online games I play.
- Even if you have the option to turn it off, that will put you at a competitive disadvantage, and in solo if you have it disabled while your teammates have it enabled, you're almost certainly gonna be the odd person out on coordination, and possibly intentionally treated poorly for not using it. Make no mistake, solo players not using it would suffer for it.
- If you add voice comms, killer would need to be heavily buffed to compensate, which would put those not using it at an even greater competitive disadvantage.
We're only a few solo tweaks from DBD being as balanced at it has ever been. Adding universal voice comms would set that process back significantly at the very least, and at worst cause total chaos.
Add activity icons and a basic text wheel, and we're good.
Subjectively, I am an introvert who enjoys not being forced (or feeling pressured) to interact verbally with strangers. There are plenty of other games out there where you can go for that, and I for one play DBD in large part because I can play with others without having to deal with all the BS that often comes with it.
And not saying anyone else has to agree (I sometimes have very particular sensibilities about things), but I feel like having the survivors be more of four disparate individuals dropped into a desperate situation is more in the spirit of the game than a coordinated team doing cross map communication.
It's not like CoD or something where you would expect to have radio comms. I think too much communication really hurts immersion in DBD.
i feel you man, in my past i was very exposing to myself, always around with people and such. But nowdays things annoy me so fast, i snap at stuff i didnt before. So i rather have not to deal with people if i dont need to, i also dont want to know anyone in my neighbourhood. Its way more chill than having to deal with folks.

Now ask the rest of the hardcore killer mains here if they like survivors looping them for 2-3 gens. Because most of what I see is people complaining about main buildings and safe pallets. And the killer that is coming has an anti-loop power. Even BHVR doesn't like looping anymore and probably want to move the game into a more gen-oriented meta (new survivor has 3 perks focused on gens with one also being an aura revealing perk under conditions and killer has 1 perk about gens but also gives aura revealing, 1 for aura reveal and one for getting stunned, basically punishing survivors for getting pallet stuns).
I'm sure playing with a team of people you know the game is completely different and very fun, but playing alone in a game that wants to go even more into the teamplay route while being hostile to soloq having anyway to communicate with each other besides aura perks for team is painful.
And I play LoL, which is known as being highly toxic and also requires team-co-ordination and I don't think I've ever felt this helpless as in DBD soloq.
there is a diffrent between being annoyed by things or trying to tell you to follow my rulebook. I hate loops as a killer, its not fun. Ive never heard a killer say "dont loop its lame".
just tired of the "dont do that, dont do this." how about "dont try to make others play how YOU want them to." for a change?

so only yourself can see the completed glyph? its smart positioning it somewhere save though! definitly a good idea
-
oh i see! well then i can give it a try and feel it out :D as someone who is VERY BP greedy 25k seem very nice! but im also only medicore at loops and well, if im not playing killer i play soloQ XD
i will see! thanks for the answers, glad you can at least run. Just gotta do it when someone else is in chase basicly or when i know where the killer is at, should be doable.
-
its not even only camping or that fancy fantasy word "tunneling" and the just as fancy made up word "slugging". Those are just easy targets to blame someone for playing to their advantage. You could aswell argue it doesnt require skill to do gens or throw pallets. You dont hear killers say "stop throwing pallets" all though they give the survivors also a huge advantage.
What they really think is unfun is loosing. Which is true, who loves to loose? but i can decide to blame it on various things that people have written in their rulebook or i can take the L and try next, OR, if its too annoying then i can like... Play something else and try the next day.
People should play how they want, as long as they are not cheating they are fine.
-
self care took alredy too long for me pre nerf. Like i actually felt like sleeping while doing it the 1 time i used it so i never touched it again. I will eventually try to find someone if im injured in my near radius if i actually happen to evade the killer. But if noones there i just go and search the next gen, or if i know a chest somewhere i quickly check for a medkit.
i think the main issiue is not dynamic playstyles, its not a formula how to play. Just take the best guess and do what you believe would be best right that moment, sometimes it is, sometimes it goes wrong.

This is a game where we aren't allowed to see our MMR number, because it might be stressful for some of the players. If we can't even handle that, we certainly couldn't handle the stress of people screaming at us through their microphone, as they loudly vape into their mic every 10 seconds, and have loud music constantly blasting through their microphone the entire game.
i think i could handle my mmr better than having to deal with voice chat honestly. But then again i dont really give much about my MMR. Its probably not so high but also certainly over the softcap ofc. Thats enough info for me.

Most games have the option to disable voice comms. Which is fair enough. No reason to deny it to players who want to legitimately use and utilise it properly.
sure i mean if you wanna do that to yourself dont let me stop you. I just dont want to have it forced because i would legit stop playing than, cant deal with that.
-
i think the buggy, broken servers are worse than all the mean strats players do in this game. Like i can take the L if someone beats me or if i just mess up but the game litteraly handicapping me and because of some "class progress error" i dont get a pip when i finally couldve hit that rank, thats way worse.

Yes yes toxic yhis toxic that. Bruh it's a fact of life online, an unpleasant one to be sure but it comes with the terrain. But most games still include it because online gaming is a social experience.
you'd be listening to them scream for approximately 3 seconds provided you know how the mute function works. If people can't use a mute button then that is on them.
i dont want to have to press a button every time i join a lobby, just make it optional if voice ever would get implemented and we are fine.
And yes its a part of online community but i also can decide to just dont give 2 cents about it and dont want to have to listen to that. I play games to enjoy, dont need some strangers to spoil it.

Ty for the link.
Imo it's a pretty weak explanation, because the game can be rebalanced if VC massively affects kill rates. It doesn't change the fact that the dreadful solo q survivor experience for new players will turn a lot of potential players away from the game.
aswell as probably hearing grown up men screaming at you for not playing the exact way they think you should. Voice chat would be horrible in this game.

There was this rumour/hearsay Nightmare and Halloween were the hardest by far, especially Nightmare, something about them being "old school" wathever that means, I suppose it has a lot of truth to it because Halloween barely has any cosmetics despite being the oldest licensed chapter and Freddy/Quentin have zero and werent on Switch until some time after the release while they were renegotiating the deal to have them available on it.
Maybe they just hate getting money without lifting a finger.
or maybe they want to much without lifting a finger, maybe their conditions are too harsh for BHVR to get more deals.
-

like Quentin or on killer side there is quite a lot of them that have only a bare minimum or none. (freddy)
Thats a bit different because any cosmetic for licensed characters has to be approved by the holders and apparently Nightmare on Elm Street holders are the toughest to deal with, I wouldnt blame BHVR on their lack of cosmetics, even if BHVR wanted to make more cosmetics if the license owners say "no" there is nothing they can do.
yeah thats what i thought, i assumed licensed ones are harder to get done, didnt know that nightmare on elm street holders are known for being that tough doe. For Pig and nemesis/wesker it worked too.
-
i mean i havent tryed one after the halloween event ended but even within the halloween event it was sometimes hard to find the pink glyph in some matches.
You hear it, assume it would be near, but in reality its somewhere else, it can spawn anywhere in the map. Had it on gideon above the bathroom where there is the little dropdown hole in the corner. I have seen nothing around so i got down into the bathroom but still nothing. Not in the floor, not between the tiles next to it.
But as i ran near the stairs there it was, cuddled in the corner of some crates right next to the staircase. The sound played above the bathroom though. So yeah. You should find it eventually, its not like its bound to the event. If you think it is bugged unequip the challenge and re-add it again, sometimes that fixes it.
-
oh thats easy for me. On survivor Windows of opportunity
And on killer look at my profile picture XD
-
Its even funnier that noone looks at the cosmetics she is getting either. Feng is one of my 6 "main" survivors (the others only for p1 to get their perks) so i bought quite a few cosmetics for her. But i gotta say, the ones i bought are the minor ones she has that actually look good in my opinion. Look what people are running, if they want to look cool then they might run streamer feng cosmetics or those cyberpunk coats. If they want to look cute its bunny feng.
there is tons of cosmetics that almost noone use on her while on Yui on the other hand (another of my main survivors, my nr.1 actually) has so much cool stuff i had a hart time choosing because you cant buy anything she has. Would be a bit expensive. The only downside is how collorful and bright all of it is but it still looks really good.
Ofc that is about taste but i think rather have some few cool cosmetics than way too many who are just reworked versions of other cosmetics you alredy have or some crossovers. While ok the Jill outfit does look cool on her.
i would appreciate more if some characters that dont have any outfits yet would get some, like Quentin or on killer side there is quite a lot of them that have only a bare minimum or none. (freddy) But having spite against feng i mean.. if the majority think its so bad it should be easy to gather votes in a poll or in the feedback section, to say on which characters most of you want to have cosmetics.

its not about killing them its about practice and learning a new killers power without the need to wait until you safely got 1 more grade because you dont want to depip just because you play a new killer.
And also if the bots get better like they can run perks or something, then they are great for custom matches with friends if you cant get more than 2 other people to play.

As the ghosts are right now i think the flag should be removed completely honestly, its easy enough to evade them. If they buff the AI though then ok flag is fine, but as of right now the ghosts are more for directing where you want them to run, cutting off angles and well.. They can camp for you so.
The ghosts are just not very dynamic, the flag giving speed boost makes no sense at all, if they were stronger it would be justifyied but rn? no i think not.

since before the recent halloween event i used to run Overbrine (overcharge+call of brine) sometimes. But during the event as things got more sweaty i started to run it on EVERYONE. Paired with thrilling tremors for having gens blocked plus some kind of aura reading when picking up survivors.
I feel like if i run anything else aside from these 3 perks TOGETHER gens are going to be done left and right within only 4 minutes. So yeah. Overcharge, call of brine and Thrilling tremors with some additional perk which i always change. Sometimes i use corrupt instead of thrilling but only on killers that need time to get going like hag, trapper or myers.

I'm still gonna subscribe to the idea that it is PTW, since the Shrine is completely random and very inconsistent. Some perks also just haven't appeared in the Shrine to date.
You're right though with the cosmetics returning, forgot about that. :)

I'm gonna take this one line by line.
i mean you wanna have more than 6 years of work be given away for free or for 20 bucks? the company behind overwatch is somewhat bigger than Behaviour, they gotta pay their fees, their employes, gotta pay LOADS for technical equipment and the servers themselves cost something to.
I'm just looking for a higher quality of content. I didn't say that everything either needed to be $20 or completely free, and if that's the point you took away I suggest you try reading my post again.
BHVRs model is to give dlcs/characters with their aditional perks, and you can unlock ANYONE except the licensed ones for free with shards. I bought an ultimate edition and going to buy the dlc if the characters keep being that interesting to me, just because i dont want to grind. But your not forced to pay characters just because the additional perks, because in this game there is way more than just "killer x with perk y is stronger so you need it". There is strong players that will loop you for 3 gens and there is the ones that cant mindgame the simplest things. As there is strong players on killer side who hits every single hatchet or throwing knife while there is that newbie trapper walking into his own traps. The game has no winning condition too. Its not like if you dont escape/4k you cant progress. It just means you get less amount of bloodpoints.
Ah yes, after the 42 hours (give or take a few) worth of grind it takes to get 1 single character it is totally reasonable to expect that everyone just earn it for free!
Like that is just absurd. 42 hours of play for one unlock is just not okay.
If I see another "you're not forced to pay." You are essentially strong-armed into either devoting your life to DBD to unlock new characters or paying for them. There is no choice if want to play the character within a reasonable amount of time.
what do we actually get for free in dbd?
-maps
-bugfixes&QoL changes

-balancing changes
These are just... normal live service additions. Stop trying to market these as special important virtuous deeds BHVR goes out of their way for.
The employes at BHVR work every day, all of the things they add/change needs new programming, some things that seem minor are not done in 10 minutes. Now i have no clue about programming but i happen to know what costs you have as a company. Ours is small and not in gaming, i cant imagine how expensive running an ongoing game is.
I do indeed know how programming works, thank you for explaining I guess?
Would you rather get the quality lowered or the amount of content becomes less? Because if they are going to reduce the amount of money they get with their buisness model then we wont see as much work in this game as now. Just backtrack to the few last major updates. 40 perks reworked, QoL changes left and right and you can be sure theyve been working on the bots for quite a long time. Also the changes about the cheater problem. All of that is work that needs to be payed.
What a weird ultimatum. DBD is such a small scale game that you'd have to be willfully ignorant to believe that they're just barely scraping by with the amount of monetary intake that they'd be receiving. I would like a more consistent and quality product tho. They were the ones that make the weird decision to not just test out perk changes in each hotfix like they should do. Yes, they are working on improving the game, but to suggest that them making their business model more friendly would make the amount of content take a nosedive would suggest that they're a plethora of content to begin with. As I made an example of prior, Warframe is absolutely free and much larger in scale. Hell, even premium cosmetics can be earned for free through trading.
I think you're just choosing not to see something here.
BHVR, unlike other, way bigger, companys is very generous. I know a certain big name where you could litteraly wait half a year until they would fix a few very gamebreaking bugs, while they do less, much less work than bhvr does but get way more money because they blatantly sell ingame curtesy. The amount of money they make alone from microtransactions is more than bhvr probably makes a year with all those things they work on. Would love to rant about that certain big name but i dont want to name&shame.
Yes, that company is named BHVR. Are we just gonna ignore that broken state of multiple updates in a row back in 2020-2021? How console is still terribly optimized? Acting as though BHVR is a shining virtue among the gaming industry just feels gross and ignorant, and to suggest that BHVR is generous is actually hilarious. Though, I guess among the wave of cynical, downright predatory marketing in the modern industry they are at least doing better than many others.
And lastly, about the skins. Yes. ok they are expensive, your right about that. But thats not something that is forced upon you, personally i bought alot but thats my decision. The skins i have i do use and like seeing them, even on the killers while the weapon is the only thing you see while in a trial, it just gives a bit individality and on the menu it doesnt look all the same. Also i hardly had to pay for much legendary ones, i dont think i got many of those. Even the green rarity stuff and even some of the cheapest looks good, i also like to combine from various sets.
The problem, once again, is that these expensive skins which could be way better are instead coupled along with the various other monetization methods of the game. Good for you for buying the skins. They are still too expensive.
i dont know how to set quotes like you did but ima just copy paste and set my answers below.
I'm just looking for a higher quality of content. I didn't say that everything either needed to be $20 or completely free, and if that's the point you took away I suggest you try reading my post again.I mean in my opinion the content is good, but agree to disagree i guess on that one. Nothing wrong asking for improvements though, but just not at the cost of less or worse content just to make it cheaper.

I pay for much in this game because again i think the content is worth it. 42 hours isnt even that much, are you bored that fast of a game? idk, maybe i dont know how it is having only the base stuff because i bought this game with the ultimate edition on steam, but i dont think 42 hours is that much.
These are just... normal live service additions. Stop trying to market these as special important virtuous deeds BHVR goes out of their way for.Exactly, thats why i said they are free. They put those out in monthly, heel, even weekly basis while with some other bigger companys you could wait for half a year with stuff like that, because they dont get actually to sell those changes so they are the lowest priority. BHVR is diffrent in that.
I do indeed know how programming works, thank you for explaining I guess?i mean your thread suggests otherwise, it made it seem like you think those things are somewhat easy to get done.
What a weird ultimatum. Hell, even premium cosmetics can be earned for free through trading.I think you're just choosing not to see something here.idk why you try to keep putting words in my mouth. I didnt say they were scrapping the bottom if they would have their incomes reduced, neither you or i know how it looks on that page for BHVR. But as alredy said i know the interest of a company. I personally would want to earn something for my work and if i had as much employes as bhvr does it better be MUCH i earn. Its not like your doing ALL of that just to be payed with the same amount you would have if you would go to a normal every day office job. You start a business to earn more and a game is a whole more complex thing to handle than what i do. Its so basic, they sell something, they want to get money for it.
Though, I guess among the wave of cynical, downright predatory marketing in the modern industry they are at least doing better than many others.I wasnt around the fog 2020-2021 and i do play on pc. Im speaking from personal experience with this game and not "acting" something up. Just because you dont agree with my opinion you dont need to belittle my words with provocative phrases like that. "doing better than many others" is what i was all about. There is always improvements to be done, but being a little bit thankful for what you get isnt wrong. As i said i have played many games, even in my scool times. Back then i couldnt afford what i do today with paying for skins let alone dlc stuff, so i searched long enough for games that are worth every cent i could bear. My search was LONG and hard, so many sharky business modells over the years and it just got worse nowdays. BHVR is GENEROUS by not following these modells and keep to their own in 2022 to where gaming is not from gamers to gamers but rather from greedy CEO's from third party companys dictating what the developers should do and what not. All the big names have this exact issiue. So yes, bhvr is not the only one but one of the shining virtues among the gaming industry.
And everyone is allowed to make mistakes aslong as they dont charge you for them to be fixed all though its their fault and not the players, wich also some companys do.
The problem, once again, is that these expensive skins which could be way better are instead coupled along with the various other monetization methods of the game. Good for you for buying the skins. They are still too expensive.the problem is that you are maybe too cheap. If you cant afford it then there is the way to have it earned with ingame shards, i get that it takes longer but nothing in this world is for free and you can compare companys all you want, what works for either doesnt neccessarly work for the other one. A company is going to get their income no matter what, only diffrence is if they actually try to be costumer friendly or if they just want your money.
i feel like bhvr falls into the first category, at least with dbd. Looking forward to project s but its going to need some time until that gets out.
It also doesnt help your case when you start to try to twist words and provoke me just because we dont agree on the topic. You made it seem you want honest opinions but i guess everyone just wants their own point proof. I alredy got banned ones, i end the discussion with you here so i dont snap at you for keep arguing to me in a way like this. Search your "yes" sayers if that makes you happy.

Yeah, the haircut is probably the less anachronistic thing altough the usual stereotype for higher classes is somewhat longish hair or at least thats what most surviving pictures tend to show, scissors were very rudimentary spring type that dont allow for a lot of precission, most people would just have their partner cut their hair altough a noble or a rich bourgeoisie could probably afford to have a servant dedicated to personal hygiene and able to properly cut/shave hair and facial hair. The shaved side is not that wrong but the top is what makes it "no" for me.
Also a common response Ive been reading in other places is "well vikings used tattos/shaved like that" and while is true vikings did that no latin medieval man would be willing to be associated with vikings, especially high middle ages nobility, they were hated universally because raiding, pillaging and paganism and in the low middle ages they were nothing but a forgotten thing of the past.
well i mean if you look at Game of thrones for example, the haircuts were pretty modern on the men. The female actors had all those long braids which probably needed hours to get done but if you look at the male characters? some really have some long hair but most just dont have it styled, or styled in a way that it doesnt look too out of place. So i dont think we can be to harsh on bhvr about that, what bugs me more really is the outfit.
And yeah well i assume if they cut their hair scissors mostly werent even a thing, they used knifes. For the tatoos though, since they are glowing i imagine its something magical about it, which fits his lore. I mean the Knight also was able to kill as much people as the oni did probably when both of them in reality wouldve just died young. A warrior getting old, thats very unlikely when getting old at all was unlikely anyway with the lack of hygiene, laws and base medical knowledge. So im not too focused on that. I just wish they had choosen some leather armor at least. Simillar to this one:

Leon for me. Or jake!

i mean you wanna have more than 6 years of work be given away for free or for 20 bucks? the company behind overwatch is somewhat bigger than Behaviour, they gotta pay their fees, their employes, gotta pay LOADS for technical equipment and the servers themselves cost something to.
Also ive seen way worse models in other games. Gacha and lootboxes where you really have game concepts which are pay2win but on top of that its rng based IF you get what you need for your money.
And the countless MMO games that only let you explore and see so much but once you reached a certain level or a region you cannot progress further unless you pay like 50 bucks to gain 10 more levels which is if you play alot done in 40 hours. Not exxeggarating.
And lastly, about the skins. Yes. ok they are expensive, your right about that. But thats not something that is forced upon you, personally i bought alot but thats my decision. So i dont think the game in general is too expensive, its just right. I rather have it be like it is than having to deal with gacha system or less content.
(edit): i forgot the rift pass. You can buy it once youve reached all levels on the non premium path. As long as the rift is open you can always buy the premium later on and it immediatly gives you all rewards that you wouldve gained. You even gain more auratic cells than you invested in it. it also does not only feature charms (which i agree wouldnt be worth it) but skins too and this one even has bloodpoints.

I mean Oni has a badass minotaur outfit which has absolutely nothing to do with his time period or region, but its cool as hell and looks amazing so I for one welcome such decisions.
The new survivor isn't even out yet, we'll have plenty of time to understand their decisions with his lore/tome/etc in the future. We can accept or criticize it more accurately later.
i mean he coudlve still looked cool while using an outfit that would fit at least our pop culture ideas of how people looked back then. Would i want him to look like that one picture where everybody just wears garb and long socks? no.
but the jeans dont fit either, they couldve choosed some leather armor. Maybe with finger free gloves and a shoulder cape like ezio from assassins creed wears one. Or a simple looking but yet somewhat interesting cloak with hood.
And its not complaining about how bad he looks, his style is cool. Just for being a medieval man i wouldve wished something unique. I have leather jackets and jeans on jake and feng alredy. From all my skins Zarinas AOT one fits more to the time period than vittorios does. Its just a "would nice to be" thing, not that i dislike it super bad. As i said, he does look cool but also like your average survivor.

Americans and medieval/classical antiquity stuff is always a recipe for disaster, especially anachronisms.
- Zippers (invented in 1851).
- Denim trousers (invented at late XVII century and used for trousers in mid XIX century).
- Motorbike boots.
- Motorbike glove.
- Rockabilly leather jacket.
- Carabiner.
- Belt buckle (while they already existed the ornamented piece was near the loop and frame not obscuring it).
- Tattoos on his chest? It looks like he has some sort of blueish tattoo on his chest and no, just no, in latin medieval Europe tattoos were heavily frowned upon, they were used by the Roman Empire as a mean to tag criminals and associated with the germanic barbarian tribes that put an end to the Western Roman Empire, that carried on into the middle ages and renaissance.

Supposedly this is a depiction of a marriage ceremony and altough the drawing is not super detailed anyone can see their clothes resemble nothing what Vittorio is using, not even the hairstyle. At least they didnt give him purple clothes
in medieval they had sidecut hair though, maybe not as clean as vittorio has but the hair itself would fit. Its the same with those for nowdays fashion VERY weird looking monk hairstyles where they would cut a circle on top of the head and leave the hair around it. "tonsure".
at least they couldve given him a leather armor or a chainmail. but oh well, maybe for future skin versions.
-
his guards need some tweaks, for example how long they take to get into chase and also the disabillity to swap between them

okay thank you very much for the information. If it is happening again i will make sure to file a ticket.
