I main Legion with every Legion Perk + Stridor.
But I should mention that I just play for fun and have no interesst at all to go up to the red ranks (again/so I have no try hard build) and I also think that the Legion Perks are really fitting for the Legion - something that you can't say about every killer and his perks and Stridor is my "soundfix" perk. I have him on every killer, since I run sometimes into soundproblems in Dead by Daylight.
-
Personally I think that the Legion is a good mid tear killer. Nothing special like Freddy or so, but also not that worse as the Clown, to name the extrems.
That said, they are bad in my eyes.
Where did the difference in my words come from?
First, they have taken with the rework many fun parts out of the Legion. Things thad had really made fun with the Legion, are not possible anymore or only in exchange with a feeled 3 million stuns. To that comes the frustration about the inability of the devs, that they doesn't see that, or simple not care about it. Sometimes with the excuse of "balance" and/or survivors fun, but ahm... "Hello, devs, I have pay for your content, can you please at least think a second about my fun too!?"
Second is, that you have with the Legion simple no chance against really good working survivor groups. And yeah, I know, it is rar to run in such groups, but it happens from time to time. There are some survivors out there, that know exactly what is to do, to make you feel powerless as Legion, even if you have a ton of experience with that killer and the reason for this is simply, because the stabs, the Legion can do in frenzy are not a threat anymore, for multiple reasons, thanks to the rework.
I say it again - to run in reason two is pretty rar, but when it happens you would like to bite in your keyboard as Legion player.
-
The masks are a way to strike fear in their prey and to walk around undetected.
You will often find in history similar reasons to ancient masks, like the samurai-war masks in Japan. As Fibijean are mentioned already, most humans feel uncomfortable if they can't really see what they up against (not to mention now the motives on masks).
Also it is a simple way to cover your face. The Legion was founded on earth, before they moved to the entity realm (yeah I have really hard try to not say earth realm here^^). On earth it was pretty important for them to be not being identified. Because Jails can be a boring experience, I guess ;) .
The Legion to play without a mask would be for sure intersting, since I think even more survivors would move close to the Legion because they think, they are a fellow survivor... But it is sadly not a really realistic and story fitting one.
-
This thread had let a warm and delighting light into the heart of a broken and old Legion main.
Praise the entity!
I thank you for that. You know... after the rework I thought, never again to read something like that, but now... You have make me now so happy and the day can truley start for me <3.
-
I have play both and I think, you just should ask yourself what you like more: Speed or strategic thinking.
By the Legion you are a active hunter, that chases his prey.
The Trapper can also do it, via m1 mindgames, but his traps give him a strategic component for which you sometims need also a bit "foresight" of what the survivors will most likley do in this match.

I mean iri heads are also just blatantly op especially when paired with infantry belts. Also I am a killer main and I even have a decent amount of time on huntress, but iri heads just feel cheap to use, same with moris, and keys,
I don't denie that they are strong, but since I am a member of this forums, I have develop a strong rejection against the words "unfun" and "fun" in combination with balance discussions, because it is usually used for all kind of problems, often overdrawn and sometimes wrong.
-
-If someone annoys me, I tunnel.
-If I think, it is necessary to win the game, I tunnel.
It's that easy. I also see nothing wrong on it. If a survivor begs for it (in my eyes), I can't do anything against it. Just returning the favor. Also if I do it to win a match, survivor's can easilie counter it by being not too altruistic, since I only do it then to lure them into "I need to rescue this guy/girl on the hook at all costs!!!" trap.

Survivors are lazy, selfish, and entitled stop trying to reason with them.
Not every survivor is the same, like not every killer is the same^^.

I maybe a traditionalist, but taking a game hostage means usually that a person takes the game hostage without any end in sight.
By camping the gates, facecamping and slugging, you know at least that it is over in a few minutes. That's nothing compared to back in the days were you could read storys here about survivors, that have take the game for 30 minutes or more hostage.
With that I don't want to blame survivors now. I just like to say... "It's not taking the game hostage as what those words imply", ok?
And no, I don't denie, that facecamping and co is pretty unfun, but to say that survivors got everything taken away from them is a bit... I mean a biiitttttttttttttt.... Far stretch maybe.
I would say there have been some killers nerfed more as survivors ever have been nerfed.
-
You will be the next killer, in the next chapter of dbd as your punishment!!! :D
-
Guess that was good for a few giggles. I would usually ask how the endgame chat was, but I assume the game had not start with only "survivors" or? Maybe there was also a bug... :D
Edit: No, it has not. To bad :) .

At some point people like you are gonna have to admit just maaaaybe its your own skill thats the problem lol. Im a killer main and this patch has been really fun, except for the bugs. Stop always blaming the game and the devs
The topic is not about skill here in the first place. I mean, of course skill&fun can exist together, but that is not necessary to have fun.
Sometimes I need to shake my head, why it is so hard to explain on this forums the word "fun". The opposit -unfun- is so often used here, that I thought, that the most people know what fun is^^. After all, nobody can know what unfun is, when he lacks the knoweldge of what fun is.

Legion imo has the best potential. They go well with a lot of perks. Legion with nurses and sloppy alone will rip apart a SWF if they know what they are doing.
A healthy survivor can't loop you at all.
Ah... Well... There I have met and see by others, other swf's. A real swf will always be on top of a killer. No matter how much skill he has, or which addons/perks he usees.
But don't understand my words as complaimend. I don't complain about swf's. They are just logic in a multiplayer game. The only thing that is not logic, is that bhvr gives not more killers better tools against them.
If you are against a well trained swf, the gens popping to your left and right while you doing your first or second chase in the match.
Anyways, that is besides the point. The point is that the Legion makes less fun anymore for people today, even if their kill(success)rate today is higher as it was before and I have give trying to explain that to the devs. They coming always with their stats argument and it is a legitimate argument... For people that care as first for their stats.
For people that care as first for their fun, it isn't.
At least that is my point of view to the Legion. By other killers like the Clown should the situation be so cristal clear that a explanation is not necessary.
-
In the right hands, Legion can be a pretty strong killer, but I aggree. He needs a rework, because he makes no fun and no sense.
They are basically the stabby guys, that run fast towards their prey, how everyone knows them from movies. But in this "movie" (game), those stabby guys are stunned by every possibility and their knifes make only minor damage, if any.
The logic behind this is not even to accept with facepalming and fun it doesn't make.
And before now survivor mains jump up from the left or right, I don't like to see the Legion being op, but that was he/she never if we look at the cold facts, aka. the statistics the devs have gave us from time to time.
-
I have stopped to talk people in dbd a long time ago. It would be against my conscience and I would knew that at least the people I know, would be mad add me then.
And for this exist 1 simple, but important reason:
The devs have prove in the past that they are willing to drasticly change paid content and while that is maybe for the one or other guy no reason at all, so it is for me and the people I know, the worst thing a developer can do.
It is ok, to nerf or buff certain characters, or abilities (what do I know? Being slower, or faster, making more or less damage and so on), or to drasticly change unpaid content. However the line is crossed in the moment where they make a once exisiting gameplay impossible with paid content.
All the other problems, even if they greet me every time I put dbd on, are minor problems for players like me. That includes also the most things people complain about in this forum: aka. perks, soundproblems, matchmaking, certain game mechanics, maps and so on.
The reason for this is, that by players like me a certain level of trust exists in the developers, that they will sooner or later try to make those things better.
However, the one thing above, that is a no go. I play sometimes dbd because I hope to see sometimes a change but until I see the changes I will not to anyone say that he should start playing the game, because I know they will maybe turn his paid content into nothing more as a trash pile.
-
Oh, so we have again the time where fun is the only reason why something should be nerfed?
Oh... Well... Let me search my list from a killer perspective...^^
-
I never slug. But I also do not really want to have a 4k.
I am ok with it, if I had fun in the chases, or could down one particular annoying survivor. In games where I dominate, I usually let the last 1 go. So I will anyways get my 4k not because of this very reason^^.
-
Legion and Clown.
From both their powers feel not threatening enough to have fun with them imo. Legion players at least had once know the feeling to play a fun and threatening killer.
Clown player not far as I know.
-
I would always do it. The problem is, -if every surivovr has choose the same character and maybe even the same outfit - chances are higher as usually that you will got tunneled, just because the killer can't different between the survivors.
That said, if I play survivor, I like to play as Jeff, as much as I like to play Kate. So that wouldn't for me a problem anyways.

They give you a bad feeling because your opinion is biased. Jic you didn't know ;)
I have not really a biased opinion. At least not on the way how a biased opinion often is understood in the internet.
I mean, sure. I am a killer main and everything I see, I see as a killer main.
But I have also always try to see the other side. So, I am not someone who see's survivors just as meatbags for the hook^^.
And I think that see the people also ingame. The toxic endgame chats I had in the game, can I count on one hand. How many survivors and killers can say the same about their endgame chats, hm?
-
I will always complain about dbd if someone ask's me until they have change the bad things.
That said, I was never be a big part of nerf threads that have go towards survivors. The worst thing I have ever say in a "nerf thread" towards survivors are imo, that swf's have a advantage that killers and solo survs not have and I still think with that I was not wrong.
Personally I couldn't care less about survivor's strength, if not 2 things would be:
-The constant complains of survivor's towards killer/mechanics.
-Feeled endless nerfs for killers.
Both give you a really bad feeling inside your stomach.
The devs have make yet some patches were either killers got buffed, or at least they have created things that have a use for both sides, but that was not always the case and I ask me honestly how many patches bhvr will push out bevore they go back to their old behavior and start to nerf killers again.
And the second point is, even with all the changes the devs have made in the past, they still have not change what is personally for me important and until then you will see or hear me complaining if someone asks me in real life, or on a social platform about dbd.
I know, I have talk here a bit mysterious, but I also would not like to hijack this thread and fill it with other topics.
But at the end I can only say: Have survivor player really thought they can complain about certain killers, mechanics and perks without anger the playerbase of those certain killers/mechanics and/or perks?
You see we sit in the same boat, somehow.
I just like to see that they take one specific patch back, so that I can play my favorite killer and having fun on the same time. If they have done that, they can make the maps big as an football field, bring old mettle of man back, 2 quadro trillion pallets and other things - if that is something what would make survivors happy, but until then, you will me not see smiling if I talk about dbd ;).
-
Well... See it as a blessing. If you have never played this version, you will never know what you have lost and I mean that to 100% positive.
The only bad thing is, that people like me have no place to go anymore. If bhvr would tomorrow nerf a random m1 killer to hell, the people would easilie be able to jump over to the next m1 killer. Sadly that was not possible for us "old dogs" :).
-
I have read about the buff of the Legion and I will for sure test it. Still, I don't think that is something what the Legion needs and I also don't think that the Legion is on a good place right now, even I also believe, that the devs think, that he is.
Maybe for newcomers is the Legion today on a good spot, but for the most people I have speak with that also had known the Legion to pre patch times, feels the Legion today pretty weak and unfun, compared to what the Legion once was.
And I know that the statistics say something different and I also believe em. Still, I had more fun with the Legion to pre patch times and a lower killer rate, as with the Legion today with a higher killrate and I am not alone with that mindset.
Until the people feel the same while playing the Legion again, as to pre patch times, we will read words like "powerless, weak, cribbled" and so on over and over again, because the Legion just feels today like this for many people that can compare (not for everyone of course).
With that I don't like to say that the Legion today is bad, I just like to say that she is unfun compared to the version before and feels powerless compared to the version before.
Imo, the Legion is a good example on what the devs make wrong: The devs working on the killers only with balance in mind and with the one question in their head if the killer, they are working on, can succesfull end a match what his objectives matters.
But the problem is, the people like also to have fun and to feel powerfull^^.
-
Julie, because I had always play either her or Susie^^.
Also, we know not really much about her, besides that she was one of the widely "accepted" and beautiful partygirls in her town (at least we can assume that from the current Legion Story).
Of course the same counts also for every other Legion Member, besides Frank. For him they have at least explain many important parts of his life until he got caught by the entity*.
Edit*: Or better wanders because of his own curiosity into the entity realm.
-
Thats remind me on something: I had almost never saw a survivor tbagging, while I was playing Ghostface. Are they afraid that I would have tbag back, or what? :D
-
They should make that while they doing it, they losing their pants and as soon as they turn and try to run, fall down in the gras :P :D.
Sry I couldn't resist,- a CD on it would not that bad, if he is short.

Sorry for writing so late @BenZ0 , but as you maybe already knew, I have my times where I often around in those forums and I have my times where I am not.
It's sad that you got banned for this. I am actual surprised that this is a banning reason.
I am guilty of that too, because as I was confronted the first time with a situation like this, I had also kill the person in the locker. After the game I had think about it and since then I killed always the pointing guy^^.
In my opinion you have not acted wrong, but many of the killer actions can be seen as "teaming up" I guess and would I be playing dbd at the moment, I would be banned too I guess since I am more the chilling and friendly killer type.
I hope you find your way back to the game and that this stiuation didn't had hurt your playstyle. Try not always to understand bhvr, try just to do on what you have fun ;). With a little bit of luck they maybe redo the permaban, even I would not bet on it.
What the forumrules and myself matters so I don't know if I have here already write "too much", but I don't care. With a specific ingame update, bhvr had already "soft banned" me a long time ago - if we like to say it so -, so tl:dr keep your head up^^.

I know what you mean... I’ll be honest and say I’ve done it before (albeit a long time ago). It cost me a gen because I had Pop and got to the gen a second too late lol.
Naahh... I was never the killer bhvr wanted me to be.
I had always see more fun in the chases. To mindgame someone, or to stab someone. I mean, I was happy that the gens are there, but just as a starting point.
Sure I like to win, like everyone, but I had most of the time value other things more.
If you play games more like you want and more chilling, they usually make more fun. Of course this doesn't get you to the red ranks, but I don't mind. I don't like to be there anyways.
Edit: TL:DR I don't care if a survivor can come away from the hook. After all, that means I can chase and stab him again :D.
-
I have do it in a handful of situations, but always just 1 time. I had use it as "warning" to the survivor that I disliked his behavior and only in 1 case the survivor had not understand it, or was not willing to do it and well, then he was angry that he was promoted to 1 of the 2 or 3 guys I have ever facecamp in dbd :).
What a surprise, maan. What a surprise o_O.

Yes man, I'm in different groups of and and a lot of main killers left the game because they say that the main attraction of this game are killers and survivors are OP than killers , it's stressful to play, a lot of pallets, big maps, and Devs nerfed ruin to help survivors...
I had never use ruin. So the ruin nerf had no impact on my playstyle. Still, it had an impact on my mind.
I was already annoyed by nerfs from the past and to see then something nerfed that seemed to be important for many killers, was just another stone on a already very stony way for me.
But I don't like to sound here to negatively and I also don't like to repeat my thoughts. That has all no place in this thread imo, but the important thing is, that the fun has gone lost at some points over time and people like me look from time to time in this forum if something has changed.
-
Don't know how others see it, but as killer I had always fun in mind. After some nerfs that was away and additional to that you have nothing to gain for staying in the red ranks. You can only lose there. If not in the match then because you have always to give 100% without any space for a chilling game play.
I don't think that I will ever visit the reds again. I have no idea how bhvr could bring me to that. I doubt even that they could bring me back in the game.
Some may hate what I write here, but why should I lie? I would make the small chance that something changes one day, even more smaller.
-
As survivors had outplay me as a pre patch legion main near pallets, while I was trying to stab them while they were vaulting.
Survivors skillfull enough for this were rar to this time (today I think they would be even rarer), but oh boy... They have stick into your memorie if you have meet them.
-
Just -bp for having multiple people on them. With the facecamping penalty have the devs already shown that they are a fan of a negative impact on bps^^.

The survivors base is dropping out or switching roles. Know how I know? Simple. Before yesterday I played 75% killer 25% survivor and the killer Q times were always instant or a few minutes wait sometimes in the A.M. I played killer and survivor today and Q times for survivor were quicker! The killers I played against seemed much more toxic than usual and hook camped mostly and survivors I played acted very noobish. Is there a role reversal taking place? I only played 2 killer matches today and the rest survivor, maybe 15 matches total . This is on the PS4 console btw.
I bet in a few weeks, the survivor que times will be again as before.
Imo, the most people just want to play now the new killer, but a new killer can't feel new for forever. So people will go back and play survivor after they have enough of him, or have done his steam achievments (if he has any?).
I have nothing read in the patch notes that would clearly satisfy killers and/or survs, besides survivors that have always love to sabotage and trapper and maybe plague mains (if there still exist any plague mains - must be a dying out species).
Imo, the majority of killers will feel as before and the survivors that have not give a crap about sabotaging before will also feel the same as before, after the people have enough of the new killer and stop playing him, besides the few people that will choose him as their new main.
-
Sometimes you come in a situation where you feeling ashamed for some stupid action of a other guy and this little princess is definitely this other guy.
Not every killer is like this, believe me :|.
-
I don't know how it is on the console, but on pc you can get the most of them if they are on 90 degrees to your left, or right, very easilie.
Had something to do with the facerolling over the keyboard... rhm... sorry... fingerrolling over the keyboard that have survs to do for this.
It looks poorly and it is a cheap try to not get hitten imo, but the counterplay is also very easy.

As of today's release of patches 75% of the people I am playing with are quitting thanks alot dev's if I am losing so many friends and associates there has to be others as well so I guess maintaining the killers happiness is worth losing a large amount of survivors. Good job you are successful and being honest I was leaving anyway to play resistance when it drops but this has made my decision so much easier.
Where were your voice as the devs have crush the old Legion-Playerbase with a rework and a ban-wave afterwards on a disastrous way?
Where were your voice as the devs drived away a small part of the Freddy-Playerbase with the rework?
Where were your voice as the devs crush the Nurse-Playerbase?
Where were your voice as the devs drived away many killers with the ruin change?
You know... I could take you serious, but you haven't complain before as others got hitten... So why should the people that are left from such things give you now a heart?
Because you are now affected?
Such things doesn't work this way.
-
I have always thought that breaking walls would not be the "savior of killers", but don't you think it would be a bit hard for survivors if they run across the map, just so that you destroy then the walls asap later then?
I am usually on the killerside, but that sounds a bit much for the survivors if we compare the necessary time for each task.
That said, I think to give survivors something to search for would be a great idea, but imo for this would be generators better. Instead of skillchecks that they have then to search generator parts across the map.
-

It takes the same amount of time as it takes to break a pallet.. So if they just break them as they walk by, its no big deal for killers.
Thanks for making this clear. Still the los of sight is unavoidable I think.
Btw. - I would like to see the animations for breaking a wall. Must be looking terrible fast then :).
-
I think it is something from what survivors and killers can benefit on the same scale, with 1 exception: The devs could use them to take down the god loops.
Perosnally I don't think that they will be a great advantage besides the named god loops because I can bet, that it will take a few seconds to break a wall and the killer will lose sight to his victim, because he will look at the wall while he breaking him.
So TL:DR It is a nice gimmick that only has advantages if a survivor runs to a god loop.
-
If someone really lefts the game just because of the ruin nerf... That would be pretty meh... I mean, at the end of the day it is just a perk, imo.
But I can everyone understand for which that was one nerf to much in a long chain of nerfs and/or changes (reworks).
-
From this list: Clown.
Second question: Legion. They deserve it since they still feel restricted by the nerf... Sorry... rework as the devs call it.
-
I like to see as killer Claudettes, Kates, Yuis and Jeffs and yes I know that I am pretty alone with liking Claudette :).
I dislike seeing Davids&Megs, because they are often tryhards^^.
-
Well, I have the strong believe that complaints are a very strong pillar for a solid game, if the devs make the right decisions based on those complaints.
The gaming history is full of games which once were hated and are later loved and vice versa, depending on how serious the devs have take the complainments.
But well, thats my point of view and I can understand it, if not everybody sees it on the same way.

Yea i agree that alot of survivors are toxic. But alot of killer mains insult survivors for no reason and then act like all killers are angels
After my experiences is talking to survivor mains, like talking to a wall:
No matter how you argue and how much you listen by yourself to them - they just ignore everything and going forward with the things they want to say, even if you have them multiple times prove wrong.
This sitution was as example, what had make me clear that the discussions were less about topic X and more about killers vs survivors and that had let me pick a side.
If survivors are not interested in what a killer thinks and just want to talk them down, it is wise to realize this and draw your conclusions from that.
I don't say, that my story fits to everyone, but I also think that I am not alone with that mindset and experience.
-
I have always feel the war between survivors and killers only in the forums and other social media plattforms.
Sure I had also see toxicity sometimes in the game, but I had blame it then on the person and not the role, they are decided to play.
That said and also as already mentioned, -in the forums is the war real. From my killerpoint of view for good reasons and I assume, some survivors have also their reasons.
Edit: And to say it clear: By all what had happened, I can understand killers and survivors.
-
Hillbilly was the only true surprise for me in this list. Thought honestly that more people play him.
-
I think most of the times, they just read loosely the threads and postings.
I say that, because I rarly see devs discussing with forum members. Most of the time they just show 1 time up and then it seems as they would never look again into thread xyz.
Also sometimes - not always - their answers feel as would they have been copy&paste from a statement-textfile.
Thats sad, because the most of them seem to be pretty nice if they really start to write what they have in mind.
... So TL:DR I don't think they listen, most of the time. Besides they seem to have anyways a strong position in their mind that they don't change, no matter on which way you argue with them.
-
I heard that they working on the mm, so that it not shows ranks anymore.... :D
Guess, that will not really be a help. The dissatisfaction will just raise after a few weeks and people will cry for nerfs, for everything, more as before because then are not the ranks anymore the reason to lose the matches, but the "unfair gamemechanics" ;).
