I'm not judging him as a bad person. I'm saying why is everyone so complimentary of him rage quitting when smaller streamers or people who don't stream would be berated for that behaviour.
"Haha baby killer DC because he missed" etc in post game chat but this guy does it and it becomes a forum post about how the game is broken and needs to be fixed because even someone who is paid to play quits games early.
If he did it over that one missed hit at the start of tier 3, he has done it before and will do it again. Let's face it.
I've had youtubers/streamers who are well known in my games and they have disconnected when the games don't go their way too. They aren't immune to rage quitting and I dont expect them to be but I dont understand their fans fawning over them to tell them it is OK to do it because they have a content channel but anyone else is a sore loser for doing it.
The bugs are just part of it, can't handle it then don't play. Why should 4 other people have their game ruined because someone can't cope with the bugs? When they knew before going in that round that the game has issues. As I said if the issue was favouring him, he would be all for it because it resulted in a miss, I'm quitting and cancelling the game for those 4 people.
As I said if the issue was favouring him, he would be all for it
What are you basing this on? Why would you assume that he wouldn't also be upset at the state of the game if a big bug favored him instead?

Unless the Survivors, you know, do the gens, of course.
No, duh. :P That's like saying "Survivor can jump off the hook for free with Deliverance unless they are hooked before they rescue someone."

Going to other gens?
Drawing the Killer away from the other one?
Finishing the gen before they can kick it?
You go to other gens and kick them, and boom, instant regression equal to 80 seconds' worth of regular kick regression + whatever extra comes along before they tap it.

20 seconds is literally nothing, but okay.
It is when 20 seconds becomes 40 becomes 60 becomes 80. Meanwhile, Corrupt Intervention is 2 minutes of not stopping Survivors from working on gens.

Has nothing to do with breaking the map. It has more to do with the limitations of the killer vs a coordinated team. Buffs are needed to equal it out. Some map sizes are an issue for slow killers as well.
It does have a lot to do with breaking the map, though.

And you feel the same about noed and being exposed?
I do. I think both need to be altered to avoid giving such a big momentum swing once the gens are done.

Not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying SWF combined with the game being balanced around solo play is the problem. Though large maps are a pain for some killers, it is exacerbated by coordinated groups of survivors. If you are facing the average group of solo survivors on Fractured Cowshed and getting owned, it's not due to the map. That map becomes a problem when it's a SWF.
Furthermore, if you actually read my post you would see I am calling for buffs to killers and solo survivor as well as tweaks to those loops in order to balance them.
I don't get the blind emotional bias that affects the reading comprehension of so many on this forum.
No, you actually are saying that it depends on Survivors knowing how to break the map, even if you don't really realize it. Yes, you are saying a bunch of other stuff about solo vs. SWF (which is legit, to be fair, as there is at least some correlation between the size/number of SWF players on a given Survivor team and how one-sided certain maps become), but the stuff you are saying about your experience with the games still pretty much highlights that Survivors who are able to take advantage of the bad map design makes things hell for many Killers. The thing is that solo players are more at the mercy of one or more potatoes mucking it all up in a way that the solo players have little to no control over, whereas a SWF team can compensate for that greatly with comms. But that doesn't change the fact that solo or SWF, it is the good Survivors who are able to break those maps while the bad ones make it more so the Killer can still potentially win despite the map imbalance. It is still possible for a team of solid solo Survivors to take advantage of the poor map designs, though there is little argument that a SWF team is absolutely more able to abuse it to the fullest extent.
I didn't say anything about your comments for buffing Killers/solo Survivors because my focus was still on how map design is IMO the biggest fundamental problem in the game right now.
-
I remember them saying that hooks broken by Breakdown would still stay broken for the full three minutes, but that isn't reflected in the description for Breakdown. Can anyone confirm that this is still the case?

Well, considering I played over 20 matches tonight and the only time the map became the issue is when I faced 4 man SWFs. These maps are not bad when facing a 2 man and 2 solos, or 4 solos. No map is an issue in those matches. When you face a 4 man SWF, maps can be an issue. I think that is where we get confused and obfuscate the map issue with all survivors as opposed to SWF. I had about 5 matches on that map tonight. In all but one I had a 4k. The one I did not, you got it, 4 man SWF. The map is a pain when dealing with a coordinated group. I also struggled pretty bad vs SWF on Badham. That school loop is a pita when you have 4 coordinated survivors. I had the same map with 4 solos and 4k'ed with 4 gens left.
It is not so much the map as it is the groups that know how to use every corner of every map. That goes into a question of overall balance. Buff Solos, buff killers, tweak larger maps/strong loops.
Basically, what you're saying is that Survivors need to know how to break the maps. That still puts the problem at the maps being unbalanced in the first place.

Corrupt, and... that's it, really. The only one that deters the M1 button strong enough is the one that prevents M1 entirely.
The simple fact that there are 4 Survivors and 1 Killer means that unless you play someone with high map pressure like Oni, Demo, or Billy, they can collectively curbstomp any and all of your gen slowdown as soon as you take half a second too long to find and down someone.
How does it stop the M1? It just moves it closer to you.
Pop >>> Corrupt IMO.
-
@Warlock_2020 said:
Kill rate is still over 50%. I would not count that as survivor sided. Pig tree is all in how you play it. There are a lot if unsafe loops on that map and 2 strong loops. I like when the pig tree is in the middle because it's easier to peel off and hit unsuspecting survivors on a nearby gen.
Think like a survivor on that map and you'll find yourself liking it more.
By this logic, no map is Survivor-sided according to those statistics. That simply ain't true.

But I do play both sides. I mainly enjoy playing as Dr, spirit and plague. You can play both sides and put input in thought of either sides. Nothing wrong with that. Devs need input on game play. Its why game play also have those lil circles to rate how much fun you had.
I don't believe you, given that you didn't know that Freddy's teleport already has a cooldown.

I actually play both sides. Surge and overcharge are fine in my opinion. I just think 2 whole minutes is a long time to have the gens captivated. They already nerfed the toolbox to the ground.
Your post about Freddy's teleport needing a cooldown makes me doubt that you play both sides.

I was thinking compromise but ok- let him join the 32 meter club then lol
A 32 meter TR with an 18 meter range cap for a 4.4 m/s Killer is not a good idea. What he probably could use instead is a less subtle TR music.
-
@KerJuice said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1168763#Comment_1168763
Nothing too crazy- maybe devs can bump it up to 26 meters.
That's barely a change, though. Having his M&A terror radius be at the very cusp of his gun range vs. slightly less than it doesn't mean much.
-
@KerJuice said:
Ehhhh gonna have to agree with OP on this one- M&A on Deathslinger is too strong. His TR needs to be widened since he has a long range game. I imagine this is why you can hear Huntress hum from afar so she just doesn't start sniping players outside her terror radius.
Huntress has a considerably longer range than Deathslinger, though. If you raised Deathslinger's TR, it would probably make M&A mandatory on him since otherwise the Survivors can get an early enough warning on him that it would take him forever to get within range to shoot.

That's pretty much what was suggested. And what you're suggesting is actually pretty much the exact opposite. Jungle gyms everywhere corn currently is would be completely survivor sided. Coldwind Farms are actually some of the less problematic maps currently in the game. Changing them before the rest of the maps seems rather inefficient.
The farm maps are some of the most problematic in the game, and it's not because of the corn.

I can claim that me flipping someone off is just my way of saying hello, but it doesn't change what it is that I'm actually doing, even if I claim as such.
That's most likely an extreme and not the best example (best I can come up with at the top of my head right now I suppose), but either way, my point is that when you boil it down, it's still an event because of the virus and that's something I'm not comfortable with, personally.
There's a lot of people who are stuck at home right now, yes. There's also a bunch of people who literally do not have a home right now because they lived on campus, have no job, and their campus kicked them out, and for a lot of the people in the city I live who were from the U.S., they can't even fly back home because the borders are shut down and are literally on the streets right now.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1167357#Comment_1167357
It has nothing to do with "mass hysteria". Social distancing is the best way to handle this kind of thing.
Unfortunately, society and its infrastructure is incredibly fragile. As soon as something pokes a hole in the system or something abnormal happens, the entire system crumbles.
Right now in my city, where there's lots of people getting sick, we have students who are living out in the streets because the campus shut down, they can't get their student loans or their place of work shut down, and for the people who transferred here from the US, literally cannot go home because the borders are shut down. That's a very, very ######### situation.
I just don't understand why we should hold a double blood point event when a good portion of people who may play this game (or any game) are stuck at home, stuck at home and for some/many, may be too sick to play or even become too sick to play, are currently homeless and can't play, or are both homeless and sick right now. It's possibly even worse for some people in the U.S. who clearly do not have the money to pay for healthcare. At least it's free here in Canada.
It just makes more sense to me that if we were to hold a double blood point event, that we do so once the situation is over with and many people can return back to their normal livelihoods. This in my opinion wouldn't be in bad taste or at a bad time.
I think you're looking at it from the wrong POV. It's not "hey, who cares about the coronavirus? FREE POINTS FOR EVERYONE." It's "We know that times are super tough, so here's a tiny little something to maybe brighten the dark days just a smidge." Kinda like how Wizards pushed back the Invasion cube for MTGO in favor of the significantly more popular Vintage cube just to make people who may be struggling just a little happier. It's a small gesture that can potentially go quite a ways in helping someone feel a little better.
-
I remember having a game where after the first person was plunked into the basement, the Survivors refused to leave the shack area and were CONSTANTLY trying to go for the same hook save without waiting for me to leave. I think maybe one person went to do gens (I think he slowly got down to 2 gens left before the game was over), but the other two were repeatedly yoyoing back and forth trying to bait me into leaving, only for them to repeatedly fall for the 'ol "take two steps out, Pig crouch to turn off TR, and take two steps back". It resulted in the guy on hook dying and a second person being hooked and eventually dying too.
The guy who ended up dying was quite salty about it and didn't seem to understand how being overly altruistic was a bad thing. "ARE YOU SAYING WE SHOULDN'T RESCUE TEAMMATES" he kept saying. He accused me of being mad in all caps, and when I pointed that out, he said something about him having big hands. The guy was a streamer, and when I checked his stream out of curiosity, he was still complaining about it. :P

I'm gonna say keys, moris, and map sizes seem like safe bets to cut down first.

Its a difficult thing to balance because while both perks are not great even a small tweak could make them incredibly oppressive.
I think a small increase in skill checks is reasonable for Autodidact. As-is, it's just too unreliable.

Just buff Autodidact to give more skill checks on healing.

@BigBubs said:
If there is no survivors close to the hook then yes. Why shouldn't it? Endgame doesn't change anything related to emblems.
You can try standing further than 16m away. Or you can try chasing others away. You can try hooking somewhere that will not make it easy to unhook and run out instead of going for the closest hook that's gonna make it easy to save.
Also , hooking is your objective, not "guarding". If camping was the objective then you wouldn't lose points for it.
The point is that it is usually hella counterproductive to look for other people because it makes it very easy for someone to unhook the last person and bolt toward the nearest open/99'd gate. May as well secure it, so why be punished for securing it?

I decided to try it myself just to see what it was like. I used it in conjunction with the rest of my meme build (Agitation + Iron Grasp + Mad Grit).
In the games I played it with, it almost never revealed anyone. The last time I used it, it went off a single time at the end of the game.
It garbage.

I was suprised how strong Hangmans trick is. I always get some good information. If they would increase the radius just a bit, it would be overpowered from that far i have seen. Ballanced perk in my opinion, pretty good actually. But maybe i was lucky idk? The change is relative new so ofc i might be wrong.
6 meters is almost nothing. I'm not convinced you'll get any meaningful information from Hangman's Trick unless someone is going for a sabotage.
-
Hangman's Trick in B? With all due respect, why?
@Marcus said:
Discordance and Corrupt Intervention are once again overrated, I would give them a B at best.
Ruin in A tier and Surveillance in B tier ? Ruin is useless without Surveillance.
STBFL is not consistently good to give it a S, I would personally put it in A.
Surge, Thanatophobia and Bitter Murmur should be in C tier.
Play With Your Food should be B tier. It's pretty bad on its own and needs Nemesis in order to really shine.
I would put Mindbreaker in D tier.
I could see Retribution and Third Seal in B tier, they can be amazing in some games. But they also can be useless on others, so C tier maybe isn't that bad for them.
This I mostly agree with, except I would personally put Corrupt closer to C.

Same and youd still see the animation (which i love the mori animations) also if survivors know the killer can always mori on deathhook they can plan to counter it like ds and bt.
IMO, even Ivory is kinda too strong. You down someone, tunnel 'em off the hook, and bam. Down to three people. I'd gut Ebony and Ivory, and make Cypress base kit.

Well, not all survivors near a hook are here to sabotage it. Maybe only those survivors that have a toolbox should be visible with that perk? Not with saboteur though, it would give out survivors perks to the killer and that shouldn't be allowed.
Seriously, how one trick a perk can get?
Well, just because they HAVE the toolbox doesn't mean that they'll use it to sabotage. Clearly they should make it only see the aura of a Survivor currently sabotaging a hook. :P

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say Red Herring. I think the fact that you need to stay in the Killer's TR without getting caught really puts a damper on Diversion's usage.
